bow anon you should not be asking me fr cause i failed my driving exam 4-5 times and it took like maybe 1-1.5 years for me to get my license LMFAO (my dad taught me and he's fucking SHIT at driving also he kept yelling and getting mad at lil ol me so every time i drove with an instructor, i kept panicking and blanking out 💀 I OBVIOUSLY DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE I AM A VERY SAFE DRIVER YALL 😭😭)

BUT WITH MANY FAILURES COMES MANY LESSONS TRUST LMAOO

since you're an adult, you don't technically need to record your hours and be monitored by someone who is like 25 and has a license (which, if i remember correctly, was like either 60-70 hours in all but 50/60 had to be in the daytime and 10 had to be in the night) but if you have anyone like family or friends that does have their license and is actually good at driving, i would recommend asking them for help and actually doing the hours even if you don't need to do it.

alright below this line is a whole lot of rambling about driving shit lol

when i started driving, i mostly practiced around my neighborhood since the speed limit is slow but you gotta try going into the freeway/highway a few times to get used to the speed and how everyone else drives. I WAS TERRIFIED DRIVING IN THE FREEWAY don't get me wrong, i literally couldn't go on it for months without either of my parents with me or my sibling cause i ain't dying alone (joking) but it's pretty easy since everyone else is literally only going straight until you need to exit lmao four way stops is probably the most stressful part of driving cause everyone is fucking ass at driving in them and moving every which way trying to get to their destination (prolly bc my city is the absolute worst when it comes to traffic).

15 mph for parking lots + some schools, 20-25 mph for some neighborhoods and schools (AND MAKE SURE THAT THERE'S LITERALLY NO KIDS BC I GOT IMMEDIATELY FAILED FOR THAT SHIT EVEN THO I SAW NO KIDS 😒), 30-35 mph in some roads (could be near non-gated housings or certain areas of the city, always follow what the construction sign's mph is but it's usually around this limit), 45 mph for most roads in general, 65-70 mph for most highways/freeways/rural areas (idk if i'm remembering the rural one right lol). the instructors always check for your speed so make sure you're reading your speed limit signs for the area you're in.

never speed and i'm being so serious about this, i've always hated speeders especially in the city where i live. you don't get to your destination faster, you only inconvenience everyone else, you could endanger your life and other's, and it's just a stupid fucking thing in general to lose your life over. i rarely go above 5 mph above the speed limit and depending on your city's laws, it can be allowed/tolerated. but for the test, don't go above the speed limit.

make sure (AND THIS IS IMPORTANT WHEN YOU'RE TAKING THE ACTUAL DRIVING TEST) that you COMPLETELY stop behind the big ol white line in stop signs and traffic lights. they'll dock you a lot if you make "california" stops. make sure that when you change lanes, ALWAYS SIGNAL, and visibly turn your head to check for your blind spots (i check from side mirror to back window to the furthest back window (not the trunk window but if your car has a third mirror, that's what i'm referring to)) cause the instructors eat that shit up (i still do that even tho my car has sensors cause sometimes they don't immediately sense the other vehicles when they're at a certain point).

how i remember signaling with the knob thing is right is heaven (like right hand of god so up) and left is hell (left is usually associated with the devil so down, sorry to my lefties i'm not calling you demons that's just how i remember it 😭). when you signal, push it completely up/down cause there's a mode (if you have it in the car) where you can briefly tap it and it'll signal for like 3 clicks, but i recommend during the test to push it completely up/down and to stop it, you just pull it back up (but don't do it to a force where you're gonna signal to the other side again). and when you signal, make sure there's no one there and then move in carefully and accelerate back to the normal speed. if you're in-between two cars and the one behind you slows down, make sure you slow down a little to not hit the car in front of you but fast enough to not hit the car behind you.

also make sure that your seat, driving wheel, and mirrors are completely adjusted to your liking cause it helps with visibility and safety (i'm pretty sure that the wheel has to be like 10 inches away from your body and you can adjust it to have it be closer/further from you or up and down). don't ever hard brake during the test (unless you're in danger of hitting someone/something), think of that spongebob episode where he puts his toe down on the brake gently (he ain't even a good example of a good driver LMAO), but you gotta make sure that you are braking at a distance where you're not gonna whiplash you and your passenger(s) if you press down on it too hard.

idk in your city if you have arrows that signal left turns in traffic lights, but when it's blinking yellow, YOU MAKE SURE THAT THE OTHER CARS ON THE OTHER SIDE ARE FAR AWAY ENOUGH FOR YOU TO MAKE THAT TURN BUT DO NOT WAIT FOR THEM TO BE TOO CLOSE ENOUGH TO WHERE YOU END UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION WITH THE YELLOW ARROW TURNING RED!!!!! it's good to be cautious, especially since you have a random person in the car with you, but sometimes you gotta make critical decisions. if the cars on the other side are starting to clear up to where you can safely make a turn, you can slowly inch forwards towards the middle of the intersection to make your turn. make sure that when you turn into a new lane (right or left), you turn into the lane that follows into the lane. i might have to draw like a diagram of this but never go into the furthest lane from where you turn cause that's technically dangerous in the instructor's + the law's eyes.

in freeways/highways/general roads, the furthest left lane is usually for like people driving higher than the speed limit. don't know why it's legal but they're the ones that want to get to their destination quickly. don't go in this lane if you're going to drive the speed limit cause they'll get pissy and overtake you. middle lane(s) cause in my city, there can be 4-5 lanes, it is like the transition lanes. you can drive the speed limit here but it's mostly used for switching over to the exits and the fast lane. then there is the right lane, which is used for exits or slow vehicles, pretty self-explanatory. i usually go into it when i'm either a mile or two away from my exit/turn bc i still panic a little trying to get into the lane and no one is letting me in.

make sure you're always on the look-out while driving, don't stare directly forwards and don't constantly wander your eyes cause you could get into an accident. just continuously glance here and there in your front and mirrors to make sure you're not gonna hurt someone. when it's night and there's an asshole with bright lights coming towards you, try focusing on the bottom right of where your windshield is/the headlight of the car to make sure that you're not flashbanged (but be careful until that bright light car is out of sight). night driving is not too bad, just make sure your headlights are on if it's not auto and make sure you aren't tired while driving. my driving instructor in high school said that if you're tired while driving, you can park in the side of the road and do little exercises to pump up your blood again but like that's so fucking risky esp if you're a woman and it's night 💀💀

uhhhh i think that's it? if you have any more questions, i can try my best at answering them but i'm not a professional, i'm just sorta experienced in both my failures and my current driving. ALSO it took me until like 6 months to start driving by myself cause my dad got sick and i had to learn how to drive by myself to college 😭

1. on a scale of 1-10, how excited are you about life right now? idk, i’ll say maybe a 7 or so? honestly i’m feeling pretty decent for the first time in a while

3. if you could do a love scene with anyone, who would it be? that’s tough... i would never want to actually subject anyone to the horror or doing that with me, but i guess either tom holland or sebastian stan??

5. what’s one thing people don’t know about you? shit man i usually overshare pretty much everything, but i guess one thing would be that i got hit straight in the head by a golf ball while on a course with my parents when i was in middle school?? it came from way far out but miraculously didn’t seem to crack my skull or give me too bad of a concussion. my dad said it hit so hard that it sounded like it hit the pavement. now i have severe anxiety near golf courses and when things are flying near my head in general lmfao

6. what’s your wake up ritual? i check my phone real quick and then immediately go to pee and brush my teeth. depending on the day and whether or not i’d be late for class back when things were normal, i might shower lol. then either get dressed real quick and go to class or, these days, play video games or get on my computer

7. what’s your go to bed ritual? i’ll usually wrap up whatever i’m doing, make sure my fan is on, lock my door (when i’m at school), strip, take some melatonin, lay down, set my alarm, plug in and then get on my phone for a while until i (hopefully) get sleepy

If someone's laughing, do you instantly think they're laughing at you? I mean, not automatically? People can be laughing for many reasons. But if they’re laughing near me and if I even catch them looking at me from time to time, then it can definitely make me feel paranoid.

What is the strangest thing you've been asked? I’ve said this before, but a masseuse who came to the house a couple of years ago once looked at me intently and asked if I’ve gotten pregnant before. When I asked my mom about her, she explained that that particular masseuse has a third eye. Of course I didn’t buy it, but it was a fascinating scenario nonetheless and I still liked the fact that out of everyone in the family, she had only ~sensed something with me.

What’s the weirdest thing about life that people just accept as normal? Homelessness.

What was your favorite game as a child? I liked playing Diner Dash, Insaniquarium, and Cake Mania on my dad’s laptop. Our parents didn’t keep a strict eye on us as well and we were allowed access to Grand Theft Auto games at a young age, which ended up being one of my all-time favorite video game series.

What’s the stupidest thing you've ever heard? There’s a lot of crazy fake news that have come out over the last few years; I can’t really tell which one is stupidest, but they all are to some extent.

What's the most random thing you've done out of boredom? Make spreadsheets about stuff I will never have to refer to. It’s a great way to be distracted/occupied, so I don’t shy away from starting one whenever I feel the need to.

What show did your parents not let you watch as a kid? Mr. Bean. My mom didn’t like the character’s antics and she especially hated how he technically doesn’t talk, since she felt like it would have an effect on how we learned language (we mainly learned English from the TV) and the way we speak.

What's a book you were made to read in school that you really liked? Without Seeing the Dawn will always be my favorite. Taking it up in English class was never a chore for me. Number the Stars was a great read too, as was Dekada ‘70.

What objective did you fail to complete this week? I haven’t worked out at all this week, which I should’ve been able to do twice already according to the workout plan I’m currently subscribed to. But it’s fine, I’ll just try to catch up.

What could have gotten worse for you but it didn't? Work. I kept making a million mistakes during my first two months and thought I’d never get the hang of it, and I was just waiting to get fired immediately lol. But everything’s going smoothly now - I’m not as lost as I used to be, and I’ve even taken to tutoring some of the newer hires.

What subject should be taught at schools, but isn't? I’d have appreciated it if we had been taught or at least briefed on how to obtain crucial government IDs and documents. I didn’t exactly enjoy walking through everything by myself and being expected to know what to do.

What is the best thing about having a Significant Other? Oh my god, everything. I loved and treasured being in a relationship. I appreciated even the arguments because it made me get better at communicating, know how and when to apologize, and how to be more in tune with another person’s feelings. But my favorite part about it would probably be having a person to share everything about yourself and your life to. I’ve learned to be okay being by myself, but I feel the loneliness the hardest when I’m going through a rough patch and remembering that I no longer having someone to turn to.

What makes you unusually uncomfortable? Injections, blood tests, anaesthesia, anything that’s meant to prick my skin.

What is an upcoming purchase you're excited about? I don’t plan on making any purchases soon. Maybe a couple boxes of macarons with 25 pieces each for my birthday to treat myself?? but that’s the only one I’ve been planning.

What is the worst game you've ever played? When I was still taking PE, I dreaded it every time we had to play basketball or water polo.

What’s the oddest thing you like to do? I really like doing tedious tasks, like inputting things into a spreadsheet or writing out lists. I think I’d be a great secretary. < Yeah same. Literally what I said earlier about the spreadsheets.

What's the funniest news story you've seen in the past few weeks? Some fixers at the LTO who approached the mayor of a nearby city to convince him that they can fast-track whatever business he’s in for there, not knowing he’s the fucking mayor. What a mess lmfao.

What do you really really want right now? For things to go back to normal. My parents are very secretive about finances - probably because they don’t want us to worry - but I hate not knowing if I could even turn on the fan or any of our lights anymore. I also hate that I feel guilty whenever I buy things for myself knowing that both my parents are in sticky situations.

What do you hide from people? Things going on in my personal life. I will refer to my problems in social media posts occasionally, but would never provide enough context for people to know more about my life than I’m comfortable with.

What was the first sign you knew you had a crush on someone? I got increasingly nervous around them and I just wanted to be with them all day and listen to their stories and buy them food and stuff. Also, I knew when I started crying over them. Hahahaha man this just made me feel so nostalgic. I miss that feeling of first falling in love with someone.

What's the best lemonade you've made from the lemons life gave you? The self-love, self-acceptance, and self-validation I gained after my breakup felt and continues to feel wonderful. I never realized how much of myself I sacrificed and gave away. I will never do that again and will always make sure to leave more than enough room for myself in the future.

What's the best way to deal with religious door knockers? We don’t have those here. But I imagine just telling them “No thanks” and closing my door.

What’s the most hypocritical thing you’ve ever seen or heard? My mom is a big hypocrite in general; she exhibits some behaviors that she would typically chew me out for. But she would never admit to that; that, or she wouldl use mental gymnastics to convince me that the way I’m doing the thing is wrong and that her version is the acceptable one.

Who’s the most interesting person you’ve ever met? Probably one of the artists at Pinto Museum. Every time I’ve gone there, he’s always standing at the first gallery - he looks like your typical visitor, but I’ve come to realize he actually scans the museum looking for people who are genuinely into the artworks and not just there to shoot photos. I know, because he has always ended up approaching me and whoever I’m with at the time so that he can explain every single painting. He’s done the same thing with me - I think he keeps forgetting me, but it’s fine - 2-3 times, with the same spiels and same interesting explanations and anecdotes. In the end he always reveals that he painted a number of the works in the museum and for his sake I will always try to act surprised, haha. Anyway, he’s brilliant and very talented, and always has great stories to tell.

What just doesn't impress you? Certain movies that are meant to be hailed as one of the greats.

What’s the worst possible way to introduce yourself? By being an ass from the get-go, I suppose.

What makes you wish that you were born in the past or the future? I hate missing out on things when I’m already around, which is why I often wish I could live long enough to see what advancs and developments we could be capable of reaching in the future. Would we find a cure for cancer? Will I get to see my country get richer and more developed like it has always deserved to? Will travel to outer space be a thing? It’s stuff like that I’d love to see happen and the idea of potentially missing out on them because maybe they’re not meant to happen in my lifetime kinda bums me out.

What tragic event was coincidentally beneficial to you? I started loving the shit out of myself from my breakup. I thought I was already comfortable with who I was and where I was in life, but I soon learned that I could be doing so much more for myself, self-esteem-wise.

As I opened a window I thought about jumping and it freaked me out, so much so I immediately closed it and never went back to it. Oh, it’s my life! Don’t you forget this decade

So, how did this decade go for me? Well, I graduated high school in 2011, with the hopes to become a nurse from MSMC *spoiler alert, that didn’t happen LMFAO* I realized before my first semester of college that was not the route for me. So I moved to LAVC and LAMC, transferred to CSUN in 2015 for Cinema and TV Arts in Electronic Media Management. It’s funny because people would ask me what I wanted to do after, and I had no idea I just said I wanted to be in the media *that should have been my red flag for not knowing* Anyways, I squeezed in 33 units that just so I could graduate in 2016 with all my friends. But I still had no idea what I wanted to do with my career. So when I graduated in 2016, I was on the hunt! Looking for any type of job in the media industry. I’m sure I sent out a thousand applications *not joking* I thought I found something in 2018 but 3 months later it was a quit or potentially be fired situation, so I quit. Not knowing what the heck was going to happen after. At this point in the decade, this was my low point. I didn’t know what to do next or where I would go. Thankfully I was on and off with La-Z-Boy since 2013 so they took me back and gave me the chance to figure out what to do next. So I was back on the hunt again, at this point I was just looking for jobs that made good money. I sent out my resume to anyone and anywhere they would take it. And by luck, a temp. agency reached out to me to see if I was interested in working as an admin in Pasadena. When I told them the travel was not a problem for me, they told me the job I was interviewing with a healthcare company and I was like oh snap I definitely want this job! I was so blessed to get this job, I had an amazing boss and being involved in their meetings made me realize that I love it here and I wanted to work on what I can do to stay here and grow with the company. Which gave me the idea to go back to school and get my Master’s degree *if you know me, then you know I hated school and after I got my Bachelors I SWORE I was never going to go back to school* SIKE never say never… This year was crazy because I got a promotion right before the year ended and I’ve been going ham back in school, every week it’s a new paper, new discussions. But I’m almost there, in 10 weeks I will have a degree in Healthcare Administration. Next year is all about moving forward. No need to look back because all I need to do is look ahead. This was the biggest learning experience for me. They say that you don’t know success until you’ve had a few failures. If that’s the case my success is on its way.

Here are some other facts of this decade I encountered...

I have stopped aging at 25, so I don’t really know how old I am. At least that's what I tell people.

Unfortunately, I lost 2 of my uncles within a span of 3 months in 2018. This was a tough time for my family and for me especially because I never really experienced death with anyone close to me. It seems so silly to say, but it was a new territory with me, and sometimes I still don’t know how to feel but I know they are my new protectors watching over me from above.

My favorite tv shows. I watch a LOT of tv but Vampire Diaries Game of Thrones changed my life

Concerts I went to: Watch the Throne (2011), On the Run (2014), Ariana Grande (2015), Beyonce Lemonade (2016), DRAKE (2016), The Life of Pablo (2016), Bruno Mars 24K Magic (2017) Multiple YG concerts (2016-2019), DRAKE (2019) I really hope I’m not missing anything, but if I am that probably means it was not memorable enough for me to remember.

And the biggest highlight of the decade is my boyfriend. This year has brought us many trials and tribulations, but I know this is just God’s way of testing how strong we are together, and you know what I think we passed. So I know that anything that comes our way in the future, I know we can handle it. I met Mandy back in 2011, we were basically twitter friends until I told him I had a crush on him back in 2014. Then we went on a little break and officially got together on June 12, 2015. And it has been the best I could ask for. Every year we grow as a couple and I am excited about what is to come for this relationship.

So May. After those paper posts I became friends with Storm and Brian, two of my favorite bar buddies.

Storm introduced me to Jared and Alec (who I had already known from the guy Josh who I almost hooked up with that one time). Left us alone for a second, and we had this moment where we looked at each other knowingly, and Jared said “so we’re all here because we want to get with Storm, right?”

I think I coyly said “well I’M here because I love karaoke. Storm and I are just friends. But yeah.” lmao. We came to the conclusion that as long as it was one of us and not her current boyfriend, who was a loud annoying dipshit, then we’d be happy for them hahaha. And that started a wonderful tradition of the 4 of us hanging out at karaoke on tuesdays and expanding my social life into mimosa sundays at boxcar.

It had been long enough since the Olivia weekend that I didn’t think I’d get recognized as the guy that threw up at the bar. HOWEVER, one of our gay friends who worked there, I can’t remember his name but he’s the one from the quote, when I told him the story of me throwing up he was like “OH MY GOD SHE WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT THAT FOR WEEKS.” lmfao. He also said he’d hook up with me when I dropped him off at home one day, sweet guy. Fuck I wish I could remember his name he’d be there at least every other time we’d hang out at boxcar.

Boxcar days were sweet though. I love mimosas, I’d rail everyone at whatever video game they wanted, whenever I’d run out of smokes Jared would have my back. It was great times. Storm wouldn’t always be able to get out of the house, her bf was a little weirdly controlling. Turns out he was always a piece of shit and after yelling at her a few more times eventually she’d break up with him and move back to new york. That was like a handful of months ago, though. For now she was still working in greensboro and hanging out with us, catching rides home with jared every time.

My life consisted of these hangouts, smoking weed at walkers behind karaoke, smoking a little when I’d get home from work and playing on Ash’s acoustic guitar, speedrunning some mega man, working on twitch/discord emotes, and I started to stream Pokemon Yellow.

I wanted to speedrun pokemon as a joke, but I love it, so I became the world’s worst pokemon yellow speedrunner in the world. I locked up last place by completing the game with only pikachu.

But I was the highest on the leaderboards to do it with only pikachu, so you can also call me the world’s best pokemon yellow speedrunner ;)

I bought a new ash ketchum hat to celebrate the acceptance of my run on the leaderboards. I marked my hat 6/7/18 I think. It was the first day the hat showed up in the mail, and I wore it out to watch the last game of the Stanley Cup, where the Washington Capitals won a championship for DC for the first time in 25 years. Hell fucking yeah, I was pumped. I was out watching the game by myself though, so that’s why I went to boxcar.

I took the joke to the next level, and started speedrunning it “anime style.” I took notes on every single episode that ash catches a pokemon and would beat it in the way he does in the show, with the same pokemon battling and everything. The run took like 12 hours at first lmao I think I narrowed it down to 9, but it was a fucking mess. Fun times.

Mostly any time I had free time I would spend it streaming. I got some goofy european kids who would watch me and loved my singing and music and personality. It wasn’t much of a following but we’d chat on discord about school and life and pokemon and bullshit. Definitely had some weirdos who would pop in now and then too, but such is life in the internet.

After all, I’m sure I was just as weird at their age. Maybe by streaming my face to people I don’t know I’m just as weird now.

Life was chill though. No real romantic exploits to speak of, that girl Taylor kept snapchatting me but would flake on me instead of actually hanging out, so it was just me treating myself to some good video game time. It was nice.

I had also started living at Jack and Eric and Adriana’s place in Raleigh part time. Working in Cary but driving back to Greensboro those three days a week was fucking exhausting, so I asked them if I could just crash on their couch in the living room. They were happy to oblige, and just asked that I contribute the tiniest bit to the rent bill. I started paying them $50 a month to sleep there the 3 days every other week.

I had picked up Pokemon GO again, because Ash and Aaron were getting super into it and I wanted to play with them once in a while. I had a really nice day at the park with them where I finally caught Mew. I made them take some pictures with it too, it was really cute. I can’t remember if it’s the pokemon yellow or the pokemon go, but that inspired the chansey post about rachel (included back in her saga) but I was doing a lot of fucking pokemon last year lmao. I fucking love pokemon.

Last, things with work were still really weird. Things were looming up with a hospital near raleigh buying up my company, and nobody knew what that would mean for any of the staff or any of the locations or how anything would proceed. I’m not sure when, but eventually I did confirm that I’d have to be drug tested and I quit smoking again temporarily lol. But it was kind of tense, I had no idea what I’d do if I was let go completely.

And as you can see from these to do lists and all, this takes us toward the end of June.

1. alone or partner?

depends on the store! i don’t have any friends who i actually trust to lift while i’m lift (me and one of my friends steal wine together sometimes though) but they all know i do it and will go in separately to act as distractions/as a group in case i beep when i walk out. but i dont have a designated lift partner, even though i inadvertently got some of my friends into lifting.

the first time i ever tried to lift from ulta i had the everliving shit CSed out of me and like it was obvious they knew i wsnt like meant to be there so i didn’t get anything and i just left lol. i was actually shaking. the last time i went to ulta was p scary too, but i didn’t feel scared until i was leaving.

DON’T CONCEAL ON CAMERA. not only is there sooooo much less chance you’ll get caught, you’ll feel SO much better knowing you didn’t leave a trail and they will never be sure if it was you or not...

in terms of number, makeup, in terms of frequency, alcohol.

17. lift wish list?

the UD after dark palette is the one thing i just really really want right now, and i saw someone get ysl black opium perfume which is my favorite and i cant buy it because they test on animals. id love a kate spade envelope bag and id kill to be fully lush-stocked.

18. what’s too far or too much?

when it becomes a compulsion, when you feel like you have to do it even when you don’t, when you start sacrificing your health/safety/future/grades whatever just to lift.

Also She's very critical on movie adaptations of books but she really liked the Life of Pi and said that they did an amazing job on keeping the story line the same so I'm excited. “what is the best age in life?” I’m going to answer this even if it was rhetoric ahaha. TBH not counting your childhood (which I believe is when we feel the most free) I think the best would be between 25 and 30. the teens are too stressful when it comes to school and other trivial matters (that we realize later in life are absolutely meaningless) and the early twenties are just a hazy confusion full of existential crisis and finding yourself (or at least that’s how it is for me and my friends lmao) but I think 25-30 is the period when you start finding yourself and finally start getting used to being an adult, but you’re still young at the same time, so you kinda have the best of both worlds. ^^

ahh life of pi is incredible!! and the zombie show you’re talking about is santa clarita diet right? I’ve been watching it and it’s soo absurd ahaha, but it’s nice if you want to relax and have a lazy day in the sofa :)
