The main reason I can’t see Elijah considering Marcel and Davina as family compared to Cami is the fact that they’re seen as being anti-Mikaelson (rightfully so) more times than not. But in Elijah’s eyes, it doesn’t matter if their reasons are valid, it would make them a threat to his family. Whilst Cami (and obviously Hayley) on the other hand, never did anything to go against the Mikaelsons or harm them. It’s kind of ironic considering they’re the two that actually married a Mikaelson in the end.
I don’t really know how to form this into a question so I guess I’m just asking for your opinion on it lol.
I do see what you're saying and I think Elijah has different tiers of family.
Cami and Hayley were in the Rebekah/Klaus/Hope top tier for him. And yes, a lot of it is because they accept Rebekah and Klaus so easily. He is able to allow himself to love them in that way because he doesn't have to worry about causing division in his family as he has had to in the past. Cami and Hayley can threaten the very lives of his family, and they kind of do, but he wouldn't harm them for anything.
But Marcel should be up there too. This is actually another reason I wish the show wasn't so centered around Klaus because Klaus wasn't the only one that was there for 100 years watching Marcel grow up, yet based on what we see in the show it almost feels that way. I think it would be extremely problematic for Elijah to watch Marcel grow up and be raised in his household but not even consider him family. Even though Hope is not Elijah's child, he would never let anything happen to her even if she turned on Klaus or his family. Why should Marcel be different? This is a big problem I have with the writers, how differently the family members interact with Hope and Marcel. Just because Marcel is not biologically related, they raised him. They chose to make him a part of their family. That makes him family. I can't imagine Elijah watching him grow up and not caring for him. We see it throughout the show that Elijah does care about Marcel, even though he has a terrible way of showing it a lot of the time. Elijah regrets how their relationship turned out because he allowed Klaus to dictate raising Marcel. So it's not because Marcel is with Rebekah but because he was adopted by the Mikaelsons. Elijah even helps dagger Kol for attempting to harm Marcel when he is a child. Their relationship is continuously disregarded though in the name of drama or trying to build up Klaus as a father figure.
Ideally I would like to think Elijah views Marcel more up there with Hope, but unfortunately he's probably more on the same level as Kol. I think still maybe above Finn. Like Elijah would leave Marcel to rot in the dungeons, but I just don't see Elijah killing him (I know ironic because it did happen).
Davina is a little different because Elijah doesn't really know her for a long period of time. Davina's relation would be mostly because of how Marcel and Kol view Davina. Elijah doesn't really have a direct link to her so I do think this is a little weaker of a connection. Just because your sibling is dating someone, doesn't mean you view them as family. Davina is family adjacent at best, which is why I think he would inevitably still sacrifice her for his family. He'd rather Kol be heartbroken and alive then be dead. I think if Elijah had lived to see them marry and interacted with Davina more, he would come to see her as family and even find her hatred of Klaus amusing. But I don't think she would ever truly get to a point where she would be safe if she went against the family. Elijah may hesitate more if he has his own familial love for her, but to Elijah, she would always be just outside of those who are safe.
We also can't forget that their own family members were anti-Mikaelsons so I don't think this necessarily stops them from being family. Look at Kol and Finn. Elijah may let them sit in a box for an unspeakable amount of time, but he wouldn't let anyone harm them. It's one of those, I can bully my sibling but if someone else did it, we'd have problems.
I've said this before, but I love that an important trope for TO is that family isn't just blood and hate that it is a trope that is forgotten so much in the writing. There are so many amazing found family relationships as well as so many blood relationships that are terrible. I wish the show about family would have focused more on the family.
Thanks for bringing this up!

I meant to post this a while ago when it occurred to me, but— Y'know how it was pretty common fanon that Klaus Hargreeves would be on Team Pineapple Pizza, because a lot of us thought that just Felt Right™, so when S3 pulled a fast one and hit us with Klaus being anti-pineapple pizza, if not anti-pineapple in general, we were all surprised?
WELL.
My guess is that he has the gene that makes cilantro taste like soap. People with that gene are highly sensitive to aldehydes, which are of course in cilantro. Pineapple, as it turns out, is high in acetaldehyde.
In S1, Klaus complains that the taco vendor put cilantro on his taco... In S3, he complains about pineapple on his pizza... I love both cilantro and pineapple, so I can't weigh in from personal experience on whether or not the soapy gene makes people more likely to dislike both, but perhaps it is connected?

I think it would be insanely funny if Umbrella!Ben and Sparrow!Ben interacted, like the potential of them interacting would have me in the stratosphere. I can literally see Brellie!Ben being his usual ghost bitch self and roasting his doppelganger in the first episode of season three and Klaus laughs at his words only for Sparrow!Ben to be like: “What’s so funny sundance?!” And Klaus doesn’t know how to say ‘the dead version of you- which i can see- thinks you look emo and is cursing you out’ without coming off insane and rude, so of course he says it in the most Klaus way possible, gets decked and Ben gets summoned and its a Horror Brawl, cue the music!
(I’m going to keep 100%, Umbrella!Ben would win that fight, and scare Sparrow!Ben, only because while Sparrow!Ben has lived longer, is crueler and has a purposefully high body count, Umbrella!Ben is dead and can’t be killed but inflict so much damage, which would scare the Sparrow’s shitless.)

the overall response to stan is so wild. the number of people immediately complaining about his skin tone when he was introduced is baffling because?? instead of taking a second to consider this was on purpose, so we could draw our own conclusions about his parentage, you all just took things at face value, decided it was okay to hate this kid, and chalked it down to shitty writing and shitty cast directors. the fact that so many of you call stan annoying and unnecessary despite him 1. literally only existing in the story as a test for diego and not because they wanted a new character, 2. being exactly like klaus and diego, who are fan favorites last i checked, 3. literally seen having a shitty life with a mom who cares more about her next dick appointment than her son, 4. being 12!!! doing things 12 year olds do!!! being thrust into a new environment to escape his old one and then being ignored and pushed away by the people who were responsible for him!!! he’s a kid. he’s a lonely boy who wanted to help fight bad guys and have fun with his new family. he’s just a kid and it was heartbreaking when he died.

do you think elijah would have fallen for bonnie if she ended up with one of his siblings?
i assume you're asking because he was into hayley after she slept with klaus but she was never in a relationship with klaus. they had a one night stand. elijah's white knight ass just liked being the protector in that situation. we have never seen elijah fall for someone who was in an actual, genuine relationship with any of his siblings, whereas klaus and rebekah's codependent weird asses have done all types of weird shit.
elijah's irritating ass attitude towards his siblings' relationships are often dismissive, when he acknowledges them at all. if she's dating kol, she's just ignored until he needs her, because so is kol. if she's dating rebekah, she has the best chance of being treated well. if she's dating klaus, it depends on how he feels about klaus at the moment.
besides that, bonnie has historically been a nonfactor for elijah. he betrayed them and never said shit to her about it. he got her mother killed and wrote an apology letter to elena. as much as it's about elena is the protagonist, elijah literally did not care about anyone in the mystic falls gang besides her (not that i would expect him to?) whereas other characters have expressed an interest in at least one or two other members of the mfg while tormenting or helping them. not bonnie, not caroline, not the salvatores, not alaric, etc. i don't think her being an active part of his siblings' lives is going to change that if her being someone who tried to kill them, and came close to it, wouldn't.
if it's the scenario that bonnie is pregnant by klaus instead of hayley, i still don't think he's going to fall in love with her because he isn't going to get to play protector or have her thinking he can be her savior. bonnie doesn't need him, and more importantly, would not rely on him. if she had to rely on any mikaelson, it would be rebekah or klaus (begrudgingly). his focus would be on the baby, which would rub bonnie the wrong way, which would mean they would be even more distant than anything.
if their individual relationship became anything, it would be allies and maybe friends down the way once he starts treating her like her own person and not someone who can do something for klaus (and ergo, the family).

Saw a tweet today saying that Klaus is and has always been Five’s favorite, not Viktor, just because Klaus and Five talked a lot and went on a road trip recently. Like yeah sure, Five and Viktor may have a more tense relationship now because of the apocalypses and not seeing each other for decades. But Viktor was definitely Five’s favorite and vice versa and the show provides a bunch of evidence that proves this such as the “sole confidante” comment in Viktor’s book, their silent conversation just before Five ran out, etc.
Conclusion: No “Five and Viktor were childhood besties theory” slander on MY watch, I will not accept it
