The shopping district was maddeningly clamorous. The clock hadn’t even so much as struck an hour past the time she had left the castle, yet her ears were presently ringing from the onslaught of the surrounding reverberations. The overwhelming scent of a multitude of humans swarming within a single place had begun making her skull throb.

This was the exact reason why Mystic was the designated errand-runner. Ah, she was not in a great mood. If he had just not made a mess of himself in the previous job, he wouldn’t have had to receive a punishment to satisfy the client…

The woman hurried through the shop’s automatic doors, picking up a basket to place her purchases, disregarding the employee’s welcome en masse. At long last, the overwhelming stench wafted off and she could breath in peace for an instant. As she paced through the aisles of the deserted store—so late at night, whichever sane human being would make a grocery run?—she ran through the list of requirements in her head.

Unexpectedly, as she turned onto the following section of the store, someone subtly knocked into her. A smell that she considered less than pleasant rushed under her nose and couldn’t help the grimace on her face. Though unpleasant, she looked the man over and frowned with recognition. Mystic had returned home drenched in this very scent multiple times in the now, for which he’d been repeatedly scolded and rushed out to clean off. The mere thought further made her visibly irked.

In the wake of a moment of silence, she spoke at last, “Mind your step…”

“Careful, now. You ought to watch where you’re going next time.”

Despite such a generic warning, the Vampire immediately discerned a familiar scent emanating from this woman. One resembling a First Blood, much like that of a certain Founder he enjoyed toying with as of late. Though perhaps Mystic eventually evolved from a mere ‘toy’ to that of someone worth pursuing further relations with, but regardless, the unknown interlocutor urged Ruki to remain on his guard behind that visage of apathy he mastered on many occasions.

“At this hour, I didn’t expect very many other patrons around here, truth told. How curious.”

A million explanations as to who this woman might be ran through his mind like an Olympic marathon. The likelihood that Mystic would fool around with her when he already knew the pleasure of his fangs was low, or so Ruki liked to think. Due to his past, he still often had his doubts, however, a more convincing possibility crossed him.

The so-called ‘boss lady.’

So many questions, so little time as this tiny convenience store could provide. Ruki surmised he needed to interrogate her in a more secluded space, or at least one way from the public’s eye. Why should Mystic work tirelessly for her and risk getting himself injured? What kind of encumberment forced him to step into danger of his own volition? For now, he maintained his cool and composed demeanor.

“Come to think of it, you look oddly familiar. Have we met before? You surely take after an… ‘acquaintance’ of mine.”

Indeed, the woman reminded him of Carla Tsukinami, a Founder with whom he preferred not to involve himself.

“…This store closes soon. I suggest we pay for our things, and then continue this conversation elsewhere. After all, this is no place for a Founder such as yourself to dawdle.”

So much, indeed, that she ended crossing paths with a white haired girl, they both were looking very deeply at the piece in front of her... The blue haired took guts and tried to set a conversation.

@ruki--mukami is the best! He always takes care of me, helps me when I need it and always teaches me many things, for me he is the best vampire there is! Among the Mukamis and Sakamakis he is my favorite! Because he was never scary or mean to me! I love him and he is one of my best friends in the world!

@princesscrownprince Kai and Lukas are really nice to me! I miss them, but adults are pretty busy aren't they? I hope they take a little vacation and come see me! I love the way Lukas dresses and I'll never forget what he told me when I told him I wanted to be a hero! Oh! Oh! And Kai is so amazing! I love how he is always willing to play with me and take care of me! I hope to make them proud when I grow up.

He always helps me when I need it, like a big brother, I love it when he explains something about the founders to me so I can get to know a little more about myself, he was one of the first people I met so he is also one of my favorites ! Oh! And about Kazuha... She's so amazing, like a perfect person! I also want to be perfect when I grow up! But I have to admit she's a little scary...

@the-timeless-founder I love Saeclus! He is very amazing! Apart from that he also takes great care of me, besides he is a founder! I feel like I can tell him anything, because he would super understand me! He seems to be very powerful even more than Carla and Shin! I hope that one day Saeclus can be my sensei and teach me a lot!

@fruit-of-infidelity Ryuuto is awesome too! I don't talk to him much, because he always seems to be very busy, other than that Karlheinz can show up at any time and that's pretty scary! But other than that, I really like Ryuuto because he is a great artist and he helped me paint a picture for Carla, since I met him, my drawings have improved a lot! And that's thanks to him! I hope to get a lot closer to him over time!

@iricathel I really like Irina! She is very kind! But I feel a little embarrassed talking to girls... That's why I almost never talk to her... Oh! Oh! But she has a really nice brother about my age! I hope to continue being close to her and making friends with her brother!

But if he comes home severely injured, then I could forgive neither him nor myself for allowing such a tribulation to occur. Many of his adversaries may possess their own set of fangs, but it's only me who should have the privilege of biting him. In fact, if it were up to me rather than that supposed 'boss lady' he serves, I would ensure external harm never befalls him to begin with. I cannot stand the idea of someone else, be it beast or mortal, laying a finger on Mystic."

🧩 Ruki & his thoughts on Mystic's job as a bounty hunter HCs 🧩

As much as the Vampire enjoys inflicting pain on Mystic to feed his own sadistic desires, Ruki genuinely dislikes seeing him sustain injuries from elsewhere. An immediate swelling concern builds within him even if he's a master at concealing those feelings half the time.

The other half, however, tends to result in an outburst of rage should Mystic sustain injuries that are especially severe and even life-threatening. He would do everything in his power to nurse him back to full health, be it preparing a nourishing meal for him, allowing him to rest at the Mukami manor, or using his healing properties from his Vampire saliva depending on the nature of the injury.

Once Mystic begins to show signs of recovery, Ruki might just lift his spirits with a kiss or two, and perhaps further intimate gestures should his body allow it. However, he'll definitely lay off the biting during that rehabilitation period. Not only so his blood can regenerate properly but because he cares about Mystic in his own twisted way.

Kazuha whined, freed her right arm and launched for his hand. He turned, fighting to keep his poise. Tears burst from the princess’ eyes as she choked back a sob and desperately held the prince’s gaze.
