O que é Karate-Do?

O Karate-do é o caminho da mão vazia. É uma arte marcial, mas também inclui uma filosofia e desenvolvimento pessoal. O karatê não se trata apenas de luta; trata-se também de auto-aperfeiçoamento e crescimento espiritual.

O Karate-do é uma arte marcial originária de Okinawa, Japão.

Significa "o caminho do karatê". Karate-do é uma palavra japonesa que se traduz para "mão vazia", enquanto a palavra "caminho" significa "caminho" ou "caminho". No Ocidente, o karatê é muitas vezes referido erroneamente como karate-jutsu ("a arte das mãos vazias"). Este termo foi cunhado por Jigoro Kano, que fundou o judô - uma arte marcial baseada nos princípios do jujitsu - e mais tarde o usou ele mesmo para nomear seu próprio sistema de estudo: Judô Kodokan. Hoje, muitos estilos de artes marciais usam este termo japonês para suas disciplinas; entretanto, ele não deve ser confundido com outros usos, como no judô e na luta de sumo (ambos usam o jutsu de sumo). A diferença mais significativa entre o karatê e outros sistemas tradicionais de luta asiáticos reside não tanto em suas origens ou técnicas, mas sim em sua base filosófica. God I’m just thinking. And ugh, the Jedi’s martial arts must have been amazing. They had seven distinct styles, passed down over a thousand generations, by uncountable lineages.

Every lineage must have had their own katas, their own training methods and distinct variations on the forms. There were probably inter-lineage feuds on what type of sparring they taught, variations on specific katas, which techniques were acceptable in sparring, anything. You KNOW those High Republic Outpost Jedi must have created new styles that were gradually subsumed into the 7 forms.

What would a Jedi Tournament have looked like? Were there ones for specific forms, like Soresu-only competitions? Did they have some kind of point sparring? Was there an endurance/blocking division? How would they have measured Force abilities in a tournament setting? How did they score?

one of my favorite Percy headcanons is that even after he no longer has the Curse of Achilles, the small of his back is still his Achilles' Heel. It won't kill him but it's still his weakest point.

Like, he hates if anybody even brushes against there unless it's Annabeth because it's too sensitive and it basically physically hurts him. He has to be the little spoon Always because it makes him feel like his back is protected. If anyone hits him in the small of his back even without a lot of force, like a friendly slap on the back, he will crumple like wet paper. His friends poke him in the small of his back just cause every time he will immediately stumble and start complaining at them and they find it funny. If someone actually smacks him in the back with any amount of real force he will be on the ground immediately and stay there. If he gets actually scratched there he will be bedridden for days. The curse may be gone but he will always carry it with him.
