a slight continuation of sean's sketchbook in his artstyle that i made following the blood brothers ending :)

i said this on another acc, but im gonna be reproducing all of sean's sketchbook in ballpoint pen!! its based off of my playthrough so my choices are gonna be reflected in his sketchbook :)

some of the main choices are: he's low morality, high brotherhood, kissed finn + did the heist. in my mind, he has always been morally dubious in the fact that he was always constantly thinking of survival in a "it was them or us" kind of way, but always has his little brother at the absolute forefront of his mind

the amount of sean sketchbook pages i do for the blood brothers ending is determined based on how many pages are left after i finish all the pages that happened in the game :D (i bought a really big sketchbook so i have a feeling it'll be a lot LMFAO, i'll post all of them though)

Random but I'd love to gush about lawrusso with you. I have this idea(though I doubt I'll ever fully write it.)of a 80s young lawrusso from a better universe where they made up ending in the cobra kai universe. The main thing about this idea is this version of lawrusso that's managed to heal with each other seeing this other version of themselves. I have this super angsty scene in mind where this younger lawrusso ends up at the school as the end of season 2 fight happens. And they try to stop the fighting going on between their kids. Daniel pushes Sam out of the way and takes the scar from Tory, and Johnny pushes Miguel out of Robbys kick and ends up being kicked over the edge instead. Daniel watching this happen and ends up screaming Johnny's name. Like I have this clear vision of that scene in my head. Daniel's face, his eyes wide and face even more terrified that he was of Johnny being choked by Kreese(also in this younger version of Lawrusso don't know about Cobra Kai yet).

that sounds like such a cool concept!! time travel is always so fun to play around with in a narrative setting :)

the idea of daniel and johnny taking the brunt of the punishment for the fault of their rivalry is interesting - the universe is really out for karmic retribution huh? i really like it! i feel like i remember seeing a fic of younger lawrusso in the modern setting before, but i don't remember what it was :0

continue from last ask: like what gets me is all this trauma and issues that they have and with each other is happening because of a karate tournament. Something that's suppose to be fun and cool for kids. The reason why Daniel gets involved with all this because Kreese is passing on this toxic way of thinking onto kids.

i was thinking of how to answer this! but yeah, it is kind of absurd that these issues are all from fuck ass karate / a karate tournament LMFAO

besides that, im in love with the way that generational trauma really plays a part in this series despite the flaws it may have. its so cool that even though the cobra kai tv show may not treat it as seriously as it should at some points (or its rushed / flawed), daniel and johnny's trauma from tkk is inherently passed down to their children because they themselves weren't able to get over that trauma.

they weren't able to find any closure within themselves during the years into adulthood, so they continue that cycle into their own karate dojos which reflects upon their kids. when it comes to a climax at the end of season 2, thats when they realize that this whole sphere of toxicity was a result of what they passed down to their children.

in a way, the beginning seasons of cobra kai felt like a constant back and forth between daniel and johnny, where, a lot like their fighting styles, consisted of johnny supposedly being the "aggressor" and daniel being the "reactor."

a lot of daniel's reactions, while i disagree with some of them, tend to be trauma responses. from the reaction he has to seeing miguel in the skeleton costume to raising the strip mall rent so that cobra kai would leave, a lot of the malice he holds is from johnny and the og cobras intense bullying and his joining of cobra kai.

also, i never really understood why people complained about daniel's fixation towards getting rid of cobra kai because we as an audience should know that karate is very fucking important to him, not just because of the sport, but because of mr miyagi. he holds it in such a sacred regard because what he sees in karate is how mr miyagi showed it to him: a way to protect, a way to defend, and the honor of passing down a great family legacy through this art. as kreese said, its a lifestyle (a metaphor for one at least)

Messed up Johnny Lawrence trauma thoughts: was watching tkk2 and besides Johnny's friends and Mr Miyagi no one else tried stop Kreese from choking a teenager. There's literally two adults right by the car as Johnny is turning red from being choked and they just watched. They don't even look worried or scared for Johnny. Daniel is the only one who is.

its cool that you mentioned this because i've always wished that in cobra kai (they have time to do it but i just know they are not gonna trauma bond over it LMAO) johnny and daniel would talk about how fucked up it was that they were essentially getting traumatized by these adults and everyone just stood by to watch (johnny in kk2 and daniel in kk3)

like, daniel was subjected to this intense fuckery by terry silver at the tournament and everyone was just?? watching?? no one gave af until after (except mr miyagi) so it would be cool if the trauma of that was addressed EVER but i never know with cobra kai :P

im sure there's some really cool analysis with this thing but i'd prob need to rewatch some stuff to really get more nuance into these takes!
