Queen of Lasan: Lord Hessian, you’ve proposed an alliance between our lands through marriage. You’re not royalty so you can’t marry anyone in my royal family but the head of my Honor Guard agreed and his family is essentially royalty but to the left.

Lord Hessian: Great, here’s my 12 year old granddaughter.

Queen of Lasan: *almost vomits* uhhhh what about him? *points at Kallus* Isn’t he your grandson?

Lord Hessian: My daughter married a lowborn in secret who ran off when she got pregnant, so when he was born I declared him a bastard.

Queen of Lasan: Well you better undeclare it fast cause that’s who’s getting married.

Students Modern AU Where - Kallus is a high achiever student who is always top on his class. Even though he was always the best at what he did, he felt lonely because he's not good with people and he doesn't have a family. Zeb is a student who had just transferred to his class. Although Zeb was not very good at studies, he was very good at sports and human relations. Even though their first meeting was bad, they kept bumping into each other because they shared love for the same sports and activities. They both loved sports, mechanics, e-sports, motorbikes etc... As time passed, they got to know each other and Kallus was no longer alone, he found someone to spend his life with.

Okay, okay so... this au came along while I was scrolling on Pinterest for drawing poses to practice with and I came across several poses of aerial performers. So being the very normal person that I am, my thoughts went to "oh hey, this but with Lasats.... ZEB! :D" And the thought to make it into a kalluzeb au was immediately born.

So I'm definitely going to be changing the perspective on this first one, its just too boring to me but ooooooh do I love the expressions I drew here.

And now the idea/backstory for the au:

I think it would be an au where the Empire never rose to power. Kallus is someone trying to blend in with upper society after climbing his way to the top, and one day is invited to go to the annual Lasat aerial performerance that was happening on Coruscant by some of his companions. Accepting the invitation, Kallus had no real expectations on what he's about to experience even though it was claimed to be "a truly life-changing experience." And boy was it!

The moment the curtain raises, Zeb immediately catches his eye and he's smitten. And he just has to go see that gorgeous Lasat performer again. He ends up going to several more performances, enchanted by Zeb every single time. He doesn't have any intentions of going up to Zeb at all, being fine with just watching him in his element, out of reach, with Zeb not knowing he exists at all. Until one day he

And honestly that's all I got 😔😔 I have no idea how they'll end up meeting properly or fall in love. But I definitely know that the heartbreak will come from the fact that Zeb has to return to Lasan eventually. Maybe I'll make it into a fic one day, but it definitely won't be soon since I have other writing wips I want to focus on 😔

☔Is there a fic concept you have that you'd like to just explain and share because you're not sure you'll ever write it? If so, what is it?

OHOHOHOHO I've got so many---

(get ready for a long post)

My current favorite is a Kalluzeb Superhero AU. It's a little wild, but the concept is the Ghost crew are superheros with various powers. Hera can fly, Sabine can create illusions, Kanan and Ezra have telekinesis, and Zeb has super strength. Zeb is the only one of the heroes who does not have a secret identity. I'm not 100% sure how that happened, but I figure there was an accident and his mask was damaged. His identity was released against his will, and now he's had to balance heroic work and the fame, something the rest of the Ghost crew doesn't fully understand because they've preserved their secret identities.

Kallus does not have powers, but he's a journalist who faces a lot of pressure from his superiors to report on the superheroes. Instead of bending to this pressure, Kallus actively avoids anything on the heroes and focuses on other issues like poverty, homelessness, corruption, etc, just about anything that keeps him away from the fast-paced and intense adventures of the heroes.

Well, as it turns out, Kallus did such a good job on avoiding anything and everything about the heroes that he can't recognize the heroes or even name them all off the top of his head. He doesn't even recognize the famed Garazeb Orrelios when they bump into each other at a bar. Kallus assumes this is just Some Guy and they chat. Zeb is eager to talk to someone who doesn't bring up his hero work 24/7. They talk, they like each other, and Kallus ends up bringing Zeb home with him that night. They sleep together, blah blah blah. Fast forward to the next morning when Zeb, assuming Kallus is just too polite to mention his hero work, makes an offhand comment about said work.

Kallus finally clues into the situation and realizes he slept with the Most Desired Man in the entire city. Zeb finally realizes he's actually met someone who didn't know about his hero work, and who, even after learning about it, doesn't care. Kallus, genuinely, could not care less. He doesn't report on the heroes. It's not an ethical issue. As long as he keeps it secret from his bosses, no one will bother him about it or try to make him write an article on it.

So they keep seeing each other. It starts out pretty strictly sexual and platonic, so Zeb doesn't bother telling the Ghost crew. They're not committed, but they start really enjoying seeing each other. They start going out once in a while, Zeb often masking up to hide his identity, and these outings start feeling more and more like dates. And really, who can blame Zeb when he starts sleeping over more often? Who can blame Kallus when he looks so forward to Zeb coming over?

MEANWHILE, while all of this is happening, the Ghost crew is having their own issues. Until now, they've operated independently. They've got their system of being on duty and watching over the city (what city? heck if i know). They train together and live together. They got their own thing going. However, there's a government program that's been established. It's kinda like SHIELD if you know Marvel. It's just a government program like the FBI who also want to get the vigilantes under their thumb. Anyways, most of the Ghost crew is considering joining this government program.

I say most because Zeb is adamantly against it. He's not even considering it. He thinks if they go under this program's authority, they'll lose their freedom and independence. He's also worried the government will force the rest of the Ghost crew to reveal their identities (protective much, Zeb?). But there are good reasons to join. Hera and Kanan think it would take the pressure off if they operated through a third-party. Sabine and Ezra want more free time to focus on their education and hobbies. Still, Zeb is nervous.

Anyways, the Ghost crew, one way or another, gets involved with the government. Zeb's not happy, but he's not abandoning his family. But he's also extremely nervous about Kallus. He's heard of this program using heroes' loved ones against them. He's terrified of how the government could use Kallus against him. Kallus doesn't have a superpower to protect thimself. The Ghost crew doesn't even know Kallus exists yet!

AND THEN. Kallus and Zeb make their relationship official. Kallus knows the general gist of the government third-party thing, and he can tell it's causing Zeb a lot of anxiety, but he loves Zeb and he wants to commit to a romantic relationship. Zeb does to, more than anything. So they do. But Zeb is so terrified of losing Kallus or watching Kallus get used against him by the government. So he decides to keep Kallus secret from anything and everyone. They still go out, of course, and are together. Kallus' friends (Ahsoka and Cassian, both journalists) know about them. But the Ghost crew doesn't know about Kallus. Zeb's chosen to keep him secret to hide him from the government.

And SO. The story progresses. There's a lot more to it when the government starts sending the Ghost crew on missions and Zeb has to continue doing wilder and riskier things to keep Kallus hidden. But it's about the secret relationship, their commitment to each other. It's about them loving each other and being willing to do anything for each other, yet being unable to be open about it. It's also about betrayal and Zeb keeping something so significant secret from his family. It's about the angst when the Ghost crew inevitably finds out. It's about so much and I don't know how to put it into words.

I have variations of this au, including situations where Kallus and Zeb are married by the time the Ghost crew starts working for the government, which sends Zeb down a wild ride trying to keep his marriage certificate secret. I've also got variations where Kallus and Zeb end up adopting kids and the things they do to keep the kids safe, preserve their upbringing, and also be there for them. In most of these situations, they adopt the kids out of necessity, such as Kallus' sibling dying or being unable to care for their kids and Kallus needing to take them in. God I've got so much in this au, it's insane I haven't written anything about it.

The Hunt - Zeb and Kallus are bounty hunters who have become rivals. They compete to get the juiciest bounties first. They leave calling cards and taunts scrawled on walls. Eventually ‘all’s fair in love and war’ kicks in, and it becomes totally acceptable to seduce each other to score a mark first. Eventually they both take in a mark they shouldn’t, and make enemies of the Hutt. It’s only when the game is over that they realise the depth of what they feel for one another.

Imperial Zeb AU - Lasan was never destroyed, just assimilated. The Honour Guard are taken in as elite fighters on behalf of the Emperor and at the behest of their own Empress. They don’t know that the royal family have already been killed, and that the Lasat are being used to Palpatine’s own ends. It’s as part of the Empire that Zeb and Kallus meet. It isn’t in Zeb’s nature to be cruel and back oppression, however, so he starts asking questions…and he takes the stick-in-the-mud ISB agent always partnered with him along for a ride to see the rebels.

He wants Kallus to lead their wealthy business one day instead. Dismissive of his son’s PTSD, he hires a Lasat merc as a bodyguard when business rivals threaten Alex’s life. Zeb, struggling with finding any kind of work after the fall of Lasan, finds himself babysitting a prissy, self-important, veteran-princeling who is terrified of him and trying desperately not to show it.

Death Match - Gladiator AU - Zeb never got out of the fighting pits, and has become a near legendary, celebrity fighter within them. The planet hosting his indentured matches kisses up to the Empire and offers their officers free viewings to brutal fights, sumptuous food, and sensuous dancers. Kallus’ colleague wants to take his number in the ISB, and he’s an underhanded snake about it. He traps Kallus in the underground chambers of the fighting ring, and leaves him to be murdered there. Instead, Kallus is taken in by Zeb and fights his way to the top, and his subsequent rescue via ISB interference. After he wins his freedom, he becomes Zeb’s patron. Everyone suspects Kallus uses his new fighter for pleasure. Which is a fantastic cover story, and also something Kallus finds himself horrified to be longing for in reality.

approximately twenty years late for these twenty questions, but i'm here now so that counts rights? thank you to @aidaronan for the tag!

1. How many works do you have on AO3? 40

2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 711,322

3. What fandoms do you write for? currently stranger things, but i've got star wars (prequels + rebels) w.i.p.s in the google docs that i'd still love to see the light of day

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? steddie overtook my oldest fics, so most remarkable thing is my number one, with two other fics in the same universe behind it (frozen with joy and the world throws its light), followed by all the missing girls and brutalist masterpieces

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? i try to respond to all of them because i'm trying to be more outgoing in fandom spaces; i also feel very humbled + touched by the response to my steddie stories so i try to stay engaged there when i can

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? i don't think anything is particularly angsty from stranger things -- i try to lean into optimism and hopeful endings when i can, even if something tragic happens with the story; so i would have to say the untitled companion kallus au out of rebels fandom, since part two ends on a bit of a downer.

(though various stories out of the eating in the underworld series probably qualify, especially when you're reading them chronologically...)

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? i like to think the whole of most remarkable thing, and other b-sides and rarities as the happiest, i would say? mainly because the idea of steve + eddie, alive in 2023 and thriving with their family, careers, and marriage is very dear to me.

8. Do you get hate on fics? not really

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? yes; allow me to be pretentious and say that it's typically serving a plot purpose, and often tender, sometimes silly, sometimes spicy

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? i like a good fusion, mainly; i think the only crossover i've written + published is an ancient avengers and battlestar galactica fic

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? not to my knowledge

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? yes! remarkable has french + spanish translations, and crozen with joy also has a french translation

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? no; i'm a solitary creature by nature, and also anxious to a fault so i've never felt it was something i'd be able to do + do right by my co-author.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? i pray every day that i'll finish all my wips; but my greatest fear is that i'll never conclude the star wars f+f au, even though the google doc is halfway written

16. What are your writing strengths? once again imma be a little pretentious and say crafting the story itself; i think i'm a really solid plotter + have good outlines that allow me to tell the story i want to tell

17. What are your writing weaknesses? probably being too wordy, and having a hard time trimming + cutting things; i have a whole google doc devoted to passages i've loved that i've excised from stories but just couldn't get rid of entirely -- i'm definitely a director's cut bitch

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? i've encorporated mando'a into a handful of star wars stories, and used a few russian terms of endearment for at me too someone is looking (rebels) -- so i think if it serves a purpose to the story, you gotta do it.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written? i love all of my children equally but differently, but gun to my head? dogfish or the other hand knocking, because both were so interesting + challenging to write in very different ways

Someone walked past me carrying a delicious smelling pizza today so here's a Kalluzeb pizza AU I guess

Kallus is a corporate man whose whole life revolves around his job. He doesn't have a lot of time to cook, nor does he really want to. After working himself to the bone on a project he falls sick and has to stay home for a few days, and as he's used to eating out for most of his meals he doesn't have a lot of things at home to cook for himself.

He tries to find a restaurant online from where he can order breakfast, but the only place he can find that delivers anything before noon is a local pizzeria, and well... Kallus is hungry. So pizza it is.

It doesn't take long before there's a knock on his front door, and Kallus is surprised to find it's not the usual bored, dead-eyed teenager carrying his pizza, but a tall man his own age. A man tall enough to look down on him, and who is wearing a dreadful jacket covered in tacky pizza-emojis, whose sleeves were just a bit too short to hide the tattoos covering his arms.

If Kallus' throat hadn't been dry from coughing so much he would have swallowed.

"Hey, I'm from the Bahryn Pizza. I got you your special with..." The tall, handsome man looks at the note in his hand. "Extra pineapple, extra garlic, and... anchovies?" As he is reading the note, his voice turns it into a question and he looks at Kallus as if he's expecting him to question all of his life choices.

Kallus doesn't blame him. That all sounds horrendous. He groans. "No- I, I mean, yes..." He drags a hand down his face. "I did order extra garlic, but the text on your website kept... changing places so I suppose it turned my tomatoes into anchovies." He coughs and turns away, hiding his face in his elbow.

"Shit, sorry," Kallus hears the delivery man say. "Thought they'd fixed that bug."

Kallus snorts. "Would have been nice." He holds out his hand toward the pizza. "But I'm starving so I'll eat whatever right now, even... that."

The delivery man scratches behind his head. "You sure?"

"I've had worse. I think."

"Okay... But I won't charge you for it. We messed up, so, it's on us."

Kallus blinks. "Thanks. That's... nice of you."

"No problem. Looks like you have other stuff to deal with than having to pay for this."

Great. Do I look that bad?

"Just a cold, this'll help me get through it." Kallus takes the pizza with a wry smile.

The delivery man laughs. "Alright, good luck with that." He begins to turn away but then seems to think better off it. He stops and turns back, pulling out a folded flyer from his back pocket. "Our phone number is right here. Next time you want something you can give us a call. Ask for Zeb and I'll make sure to get your order right."

As Kallus accepts the flyer, their fingers touch. A small spark moves through his body.

"And you'll deliver it too?" Kallus asks, and a little too late he notices how his smile has turned a little too friendly for the occasion.

It's Zeb's turn to blink. Then a wide smile graces his face. "Depends. Will I get a good tip?"

"Depends. Will the pizza be edible?" Kallus can feel himself losing himself in the conversation as well as the man's contagious smile.

"I'll see to it personally."

"Well, here's to hoping I'll make it through this one so you can make me a better one someday." Kallus fights the urge to sneeze. He will not sneeze in front of this man.

"Looking forward to it..." Zeb looks down at the delivery note before looking up again. "Kallus."

"It's Alexandr, actually." The words slip out of his mouth even before he can consciously decide whether they are a bad idea or not.

"Alright, Alexandr." Judging from the way Zeb says his name it had been a fantastic idea. "Try to enjoy our pizza and give me- us a call when you want another one."

"I will." And with a small wave and too big a smile, he closes the door on Zeb. The warmth on his face has nothing to do with the fever.

Kallus calls for another pizza the moment his fever is gone.

Spooky Halloween kalluzeb AU!

Zeb and the rest of the spectors are literally ghosts who "live" together in haunted Lothol mansion (Ezra was a teenage run away who broken in and stayed there for shelter one night until he died. Don't worry he's much happier). There's big brass wolf head knocker on the front door.

One day Kallus the ghostbuster comes in looking for ghosts to exorcise and turn the mansion to profitable realistate. He comes by every week with his PKE meter and proton pack, but really he's nothing more than a thorn in their side. Hera and Kannan just find him kinda annoying and Ezra and Sabine love messing with him, it's the highlight of their week.

One time Hera gets so fed up with him she traps him th the basement for hours. Unfortunately since none of the spectors need things like food or heat anymore, they don't realize just how terrible the "living conditions" of the manor are. Poor Kallus is freezing, but it's not so bad cause Zeb takes pity on him and keeps him company while he's down there. At first it's to make sure he doesn't wreck up the place too much, but after a while they talk and realize how much they have in common.

Unfortunately Kallus was still hired to do a job and he needs to get rid of the ghosts, but after he escapes the the freezing baren basement (Zeb let him out, Hera forgot he was in there) he starts coming by just to hang out with them. He brings news papers so they can know what's going on outside and what ever else he can think of (he's also still getting paid while he does this).

Zeb is delighted every time he sees him, he even shows him the atic, which has an old gramophone with several records, a very high ceiling and a wide open floor (I think we can all see where this is going). Zeb uses his vague and undefined ghost powers so they can waltz through the air, it's very magical and beautiful.

Eventually Kallus is fired from the ghostbusters for complete negligence of his job but for some reason he's not all that bummed about it.

Kallus: "I don't need to eat or pay bills anymore I'll gust die and become a ghost with you guys"

Ezra: "Sure sounds like a great idea!"

Everyone else: "that is the worst idea in the history of bad ideas. Please don't kill yourself"

After he gets fired Kallus lives in the manor for about week, sleeping on an old mattress that probably has bedbugs. Zeb feels guilty that he got his boyfriend fired, and only feels worse when Kal is arrested for trespassing since he nolonger has any legal reason to be there. However spending the night in the structuraly sound county jail gives him the idea to turn Lothol manor into a heritage site to protect it and its inhabitants from corporations (and just the house falling apart from decay).

It takes some convincing but the spectors agree, and after a considerable amount of fundraising they can start renovations. The project is sponsored by Calrisian enterprise, an entrepreneur who started his own company that does various vague and extremely profitable things. It's all extremely suspicious but they needed the money and he was the one who didn't think Kallus was crazy (as fas as they can tell).

During the renovations Kallus falls off a ladder and breaks his leg, (because he was a little too happy in this au). Eventually he becomes somewhat of an urban legend as the crazy old man who lives alone in a big haunted mansion and walks with a cane. He lives there for the rest of his natural life until he dies of a heart attack at 72, probably could have lived longer if he got help faster but that's what happens when you live far away from all living people who could've called for help.

It doesn't really matter though cause now he can spend eternity in bliss with his family and husband, until death they were parted.

If you guys wanna add on to this feel free, it was literally just something I made up as I went along, took about 2 hours. I actually have backstories for how all the spectors died, might make a pt2.

A Blind Goddess (657 kudos). Another kalluzeb fic. The star wars rebels fandom is a big one, so I guess it's not a surprise my top 3 fics with most kudos belong to it. It doesn't necessarily mean they're my best fics, only that more people have read them. But I'm grateful anyway.

The Reasons Why (426 kudos). Also a kalluzeb fic, and the first one I ever posted in English (I had only written in my own language until then). It was nerve-wracking to take that step but everyone's response was so kind it encouraged me to continue.

We Weren't Always Like This (413 kudos). This is a matchablossom fic (SK8 the Infinity), the first of the two fics I've written for that pairing.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Of course! The comments are a place to fangirl with people who are just as enthusiastic about the OTP as you are, what's not to like? Maybe I don't always reply as fast as I should, but I enjoy doing it.

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I think most of my fics have a happy ending, I'm a basic bitch and proud of it. The only exception I can recall is It's not over, a destiel fic that was inspired by episode 5x04 of Supernatural and there's no way a story set in that alternate timeline could end well tbh.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

The other 75? XDD. Okay, fine, there are two fics in which the happy ending felt very satisfactory to me because the characters went through quite a lot of angst to get there: Under the Spotlight (songxiao, The Untamed/MDZS) and Take my hand, take my whole life too (sagamist, Visual Prison)

8. Do you get hate on fics?

No, I've been really lucky in that regard

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do, but I'm pretty vanilla about it. I think the kinkiest thing I've ever written was some light bondage and very soft dom/sub dynamics.

El vínculo más profundo. It's more of a fusion than a crossover actually. The characters are from the movie "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" but the story is set in the Pacific Rim universe. It was fun to write

Yes, it happened a couple of times with No es la sangre. Someone took it and posted it as their own, first on ffnet and then on wattpad. I don't think it was the same person in both cases. One of the (many) advantages of writing for small fandoms, as I do now, is that the chances of that kind of thing happening are almost zero.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Partially. Someone started translating No es la sangre into English, but they got busy and stopped after a while. I've thought about translating it myself but to be honest, I don't have the energy.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes, a very long time ago, with a very dear friend of mine. It was for the X-Files fandom.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

This is the most difficult question of this whole meme. I can't choose one, I love my ships dearly. I'd have to name at least five.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I only have two wips currently in the works and I intend to finish both of them.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Action scenes, I think. Sometimes dialogue.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Pacing, infodumping, knowing how to let a story breathe and not rushing it. Those are the things I find more difficult to get right.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

If the story needs it, and if it's a language I know well, why not?

The X-Files. Yeah, it's been a while

I changed my mind, this one is actually the most difficult question. Aaah, I don't know, I tend to associate my fics with the community I get to enjoy through them, you know? It's not about how proud I am of the fic itself, it's about the whole experience. I am very fond of En la prórroga because I wrote it as a birthday gift for a friend and she loved it. I'll always love Under the Spotlight because it was my doorway to the songxiao fandom, where I have met some of the most amazing people you can find on the Internet. The same for Can't go back anymore, my first visupri fic, because I got to become part of an incredible group of friends thanks to it. And then there's Baby, It's Cold Outside and all the fun we had while I was posting that one. I'm overwhelmed by the response I've received to Maybe not so accidentally and No es la sangre, because I never expected any fic of mine to become so loved by anyone. So how am I going to choose just one?

Bro I've been trying to think of a good answer for this and I think the best answer is just: This would just be the Beauty and the Beast AU that we've talked about. That's the only thing I can think of.

So for the audiences at home:

Kalluzeb Beauty and the Beast AU is something Kaite and I came up with over a year ago (I checked our chat history, it was March 2022). Kallus is the Beast in this scenario because he's like, space nazi at the top and has to unlearn a lot of shit and learn how to let himself be a good person and be loved, etc etc and also we're not here for people who like to make the non-humans in SW into "feral" or "beasts" especially when compared to their human counterparts because enough of y'all do that, stop it.

I don't think I ever decided if it would be like, in a fantasy setting with a castle and all, or if it was still Star Wars setting and so like, on an imperial star destroyer or at the academy or whatever. But in lieu of talking furniture, Kallus instead has: kids. Sabine and Ketsu, Wedge, Jai, and Zare, and sure Ezra can be there too. And these kids are versions of themselves having been left under the empire's thumb, however it looks here. This is a Sabine that never got out after creating the duchess. This is an Ezra who has always been alone and enlisted just because he had no other option. And Kallus like "okay I might be a space nazi but I'm not TOTALLY heartless" and does help make these kids' lives a little better, but he's still got that knowledge of what he did on Lasan rattling around in the back of his brain.

(Canon timelines? don't know her.)

We come up with some theories about what if Kallus was cursed after Lasan or Onderon and then it was back to "is this magic magic? is this a metaphorical curse? what is happening?

Anyway, we never did figure out how to fit Zeb.... into this actual Kalluzeb plot.

2. How did you get the idea to write this?

As you read in my post, I got the idea for Warrior's Fortune from another person's post where they suggested that Zeb has more in common with Thrawn (being military men and having their species endangered by genocide), therefore It would easier to convince him to work with Thrawn if he came asking help to the Ghost Crew to fight against the Grysks, as opposite of being Ezra or Hera who usually are the ones who cave in first in most fics. I added that Kallus would be very unhappy with that alliance. I've had this idea rummaging in my head since I read the 2 newest Thrawn trilogies. There are some details I need to figure out, so that's why I haven't written anything for it yet.

As for Succession, the idea came to me while I was planning another Kalluzeb fic (the betrothal), which is a no-order-66 au where Zeb's family is related to the queen of Lasan. He's so far removed in the line of succession that only if a tragedy kills every member of his family would be the only way for him to sit in the throne. And then, it hit me. If in canon he was from the royal family, he would be king after the fall of Lasan. And he'd keep it a secret, even with more zealous than he kept being a captain of the High Guard.

20. Give a vague description of something that will happen without revealing too much

In Succession, Chava will ship kalluzeb so hard and she will find the way to bind Kallus as Prince consort, via tradition/ritual/something, to the chagrin of many Lasats 😆

And in Warrior's Fortune, as if Kallus' reluctance to work with Thrawn wasn't enough to create angst, there'll be also the tiny little issue of Kallus and Zeb's adopted baby girl being a Chiss, who they rescued from a attacked ship aaaaaaaand she has the third sight. So Thrawn might get the idea of taking the girl back to the Ascendancy on the grounds of getting her into the navigators program. Obviously, Zeb and Kallus will have an opinion about it.

Morning Coffee: a short little Kalluzeb office AU ficlet! Pretty cute and fun to write, it was inspired by some @sempaiko art.

Ties That Bind: my first foray into multichapter Lupin fic, this is a soulmate fic that tries not to be a typical soulmate fic. After all, just cause you have a bond doesn't mean you don't have to work on your relationships, right?

Gimme Shelter: This was supposed to end up being LuZeni porn but just became a sorta sweet, sorta silly survival fic. Got to draw on my Wilderness EMT training, so that was fun.

March

The Last Prince: Part of my SPN/Rebels fusion series I wrote with Sempaiko! I wrote plot, she wrote porn, it worked well. :D

At Sea: Started in March, completed in May. This was my follow-up to Gimme Shelter and turned out to be a hell of a lot of fun to write. Because of course Lupin would tag along on Zenigata's vacation!

April

Resistance: So this wasn't intended to serve as a goodbye to the Rebels fandom, but it kind of did that anyway. I still love it, but I burned out a bit after 2 years, 58 stories, and almost a million words.

May & June

I was in a medicinal haze these months and got NO writing done. I was just glad I finished At Sea in time.

July

Smother Your Sorrows: This one is ALL @maryellencarter's fault for giving me an angsty prompt. It was an adventure to write because I was both thrilled to be writing again and challenged with characterizations and emotions I hadn't written before. Pretty proud of this one.

August, September, & October

I was working on Smother all these months!

November

Little Thefts: written for my friend @lots-o-doodles, who wanted something JigLup involving Jigen's purple shirt. It went more places than that, but it's cute and it's sweet and I have fun re-reading it!

Thief of Time: Still in progress! I actually wrote the first three chapters of this back in Jan/Feb, but it took me until November to figure out how to continue. If I can pull off this next chapter, I'll be as proud as I am of Smother.

Birthday Presents: Dashed off in a couple days for Jigen's birthday, this actually was the only smut I wrote so far this year!

December

Still to come: my Lupin holiday exchange fic, a LuZeni smut fic for Christmas (hopefully) and hopefully the end of Thief of Time!

10. How do you decide what to write?

I generally start with a question or a concept--I do a lot of canon-divergent AUs and/or backstory fills and/or adding OCs for fanfic, and a not-insignificant chunk of my original work started as a wildly AU fanfic that I decided actually worked better when separated from its original roots, lol.

So, like, if it starts with a question. "What if Baltar was on Pegasus instead of Galactica." "What if Anakin didn't follow Mace Windu and was still in the Temple when Order 66 went out?" "What if Mordred was a daughter instead of a son?" and then it tends to spiral from there.

Or if it starts with an OC and/or Backstory Fill. "Who are [x character]'s relatives who are either implied to exist by That's How Biology Works (i.e., parents) or could exist (i.e., siblings/childhood friends/etc.) or I think it would be Interesting if they existed (often children)?"

And, like...a lot of these pop into my head? Some of them work better in different formats than Actually Writing them for whatever reason, some of them just grab onto me and refuse to let go. So when it comes to deciding which of these threads I'm going to follow...it's sort of an 'I know it when I see it' type thing? It's basically a...what has the Right Level of focus/awareness/etc. And sometimes I write these things for an audience of one, or divert them into freeform/casual RPs with friends, or get it out in like an outline format as opposed to a fulltext fic.

...yeah, I don't actually have like. a Process, lol. It's pretty intuitive and comes from me poking at 'what-ifs' 99% of the time. Sometimes I do one-shots that are missing scenes, but those are pretty rare.

11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is?

Yeah, I'd probably have to say I am? But it's usually not just one character, and I tend to prefer writing gen fic with pairings as backgrounds?

So, for example, my Star Wars home tends to be the PT/Clone Wars era and characters, up through Rebels/Rogue One/basically the inter-trilogy period. The characters I tend to write most often/got the most invested in/flow the easiest are (in no particular order) Anakin, Ahsoka, Padme, Obi-Wan, Rex, Kallus, Zeb, Sabine, Bo-Katan...

For pairings, I tend to write Anidala/Obianidala or Kalluzeb; most other things are either situational or involve OCs or both.

AtLA, I was (and am) pretty invested in Zuko, and also Long Feng fascinates me, and I adore Toph; Ty Lee has always been a draw for me as well. I do have a preferred pairing in that fandom (Zuko/Song), but that's a particularly gen-focused fandom for me.

And for BSG, there are just. So many to choose from XD As I'm getting back into the fandom, I'm drawn to some who have always been my favorites (Gaius, Caprica, Helo, Athena, Kara, Felix) and a few who I'm way more interested in this time around than I was before (primarily Sam and the Tighs; although Fleet!Cavil is kind of a joy to write in his own special way--Palpatine is, too, to backtrack; something about digging into their heads is just. kind of fun???).

As for shipping...honestly, apart from Roslin/Adama (who I love, but I find both of them kind of hard to write, so I haven't done as much with them as I'd like), my favorite 2000-year-old robot drunks in love, Helo/Athena, and Gaius/Caprica, I don't have super strong opinions? I prefer Kara/Sam to Kara/Lee, and there was one AU I was working on (that will hopefully get picked up again at some point?) where the goal was Zak/Kara/Sam. And also, like, these are endgame pairings? As other partners along the way, I can get invested in a lot of different things. (I lose patience with the Quadranagle of Why very quickly, though.) ...that also goes for Star Wars, incidentally, though to a lesser extent. And all of this is leaving out how OCs affect shipping dynamics.

...right, there was another part of this question, lol.

Why do I think I'm drawn to these characters/pairings? Uh, well I know I'm invested in complex loyalties/morality. I've said before that I have a Thing for that, and for double-agents. So a lot of the characters I'm drawn to are very shades of grey, depending on the point in the storyline and/or whose perspective you're looking at. But...not all of them? So that's a starting point but not the only thing.

As for pairings...I do like a good enemies-to-lovers that's handled well; the personalities that go into it also matter, they have to fit with each other in some way. Other than that...I'm not sure there's a whole lot of commonality between the pairings I like. Like I said, I mostly focus on gen fic with pairings as a background/fact of life when applicable?

1. Set Your Glass Heart Next to Mine

An Arthur/Eames-focused retelling of the Fischer job where Arthur has epilepsy and is struggling with symptom management. Told myself it was going to be 25k or less. Currently at 36.5k and still going.

2. With Words I Thought I'd Never Speak

My Battinez fic! Martinez accidentally learns Bruce's identity while working a case with him. Cue two very awkward people slowly learning to be comfortable with each other. The first two chapters are actually already posted, I just need to get my ass in gear and get the next chapter finished lol

3. Running Through My Veins Like Sin

My ongoing fic for the OCN kdrama The Guest! I'm a sucker for the trope of "two broken people find solace and the chance to heal together" and this fic EMBODIES that lol. Another one where several chapters are already posted and I just need to actually KEEP writing it

4. Guilty as Charged

Arthur/Eames forensic inpatient psychologist AU! Because I love my job and have decided to (eventually) make that everyone else's problem!

5. A Pretty Good Bad Idea

Arthur and Eames pretend to be married to avoid being forced to testify against each other. Shenanigans and some unexpected feelings ensue

6. Free Falling to Grace

Force sensitive Kallus! Eventual kalluzeb but very Kallus-centric, focusing on his journey from loyal Imperial agent to Imperial defector and how some previously-latent Force abilities change him and his view of things. Currently my longest WIP, coming in at a whopping 70k and MAYBE halfway done

7. Untouchable

Another Arthur/Eames one! A one-shot where they go to meet with a previous mark who managed to track them down

8. There is No Power in Innocence

A ChangShin Kingdom fic where Chang becomes Prince Regent and Yeong-shin his body guard. It's been on the back burner for a while, but I still have lots of Thoughts about it and intend to finish it one of these days

Bonus fic that I haven't actually started but that lives rent free in the back of my mind and I will gladly yell about to anyone who's interested:

Like a Dog Inspires a Rabbit - a time loop kalluzeb fic that starts with Kallus as a loyal Imperial. An ill-fated run-in with the Ghost crew and some Force shenanigans result in him being trapped in a time loop that resets each time he dies though, and it turns out dying over and over again gives you a lot of time to reflect on your choices
