#I'm Not Mad I'm Disappointed
Note
Ha. Wow. Good to know that talking AT ALL as a trans man is gonna get me labeled as a whiner with a "victim complex". Guess I'll keep my disgusting, t-tainted mouth shut forever, no matter what horrific and dehumanizing BS my community goes through, cuz no amount of people defending us is going to change the fact that enbies and trans fems think we're invading scum. Christ. Let's just stop calling ourselves trans. Let's just make our community, it'll be better than this never-ending parade of sneering condescension. I went through this exact same problem when I first came put as aro. IT DOES NOT STOP, IT DOES NOT CHANGE. Non trans mascs have had plenty of time to accept it, they made their fucking choice. At this point, we're the idiots for continuing to try.
Hey so. I sympathize with your pain and you have every right to be angry at the people who treat you this way. You don't deserve this exclusionist bullshit and I'm not about to tell you your feelings aren't valid.
But what, exactly, made you think it was an okay move to send this to me? Like. I'm a fairly avowed transunitist, I've repeatedly expressed that I'm strongly against separatism in all forms, and I'm literally a trans woman. You know, one of the groups you seem to think will never stop thinking trans men are Invading Scum?
And listen. I'm also transmasc. I already have a lot of complicated emotions about feeling like I don't Really, which are made worse when I see intracommunity violence—and they're Definitely made worse when someone comes into my inbox with an unsolicited separatist vent.
Now, admittedly, I don't talk about those feelings of uncertainty regarding my belonging very often, at least not on my Tumblr blog where it'll be seen by 1k+ random strangers who just know me as that lady who says things pretty well. However, I really don't think "maybe refrain from telling someone who's both transfem and transmasc that the two identities are diametrically opposed and incapable of unity" is thought that really requires much insight into my inner life.
Just saying.

That episode is also a big turning point for Zhang and Olu, and for Olu and Jim. What went into the decisions around them moving in different directions after their connection in season 1?
I think that relationship was always seen in the room as a friend relationship that got romantic. That tension was interesting to us — it’s like, Well, what if we don’t play them as jealous? What if we play it as, when you love a friend and it becomes romantic, and then you see someone who makes them happy and you know you’re not it, you feel jealous? But also, they’re your friend. You want to see them happy. I think a lot of times, particularly in straight relationships, it’s traumatizing, and could be more about the jealousy. But here, I think it’s nice to see it this way: They truly care about each other enough to just want to see their friend with someone good, someone who takes care of them. In my life, those are the best relationships [with exes]. I do see those among my friends, but I don’t see it dramatized a lot, I just see the negative component dramatized. I like it this way — they’re friends, and they just want to see each other do well.
---
Oh hey look more Word of God I'mma gonna ignore 👍🏻
(You can absolutely do 'oh I had a thing for you and we had sex but I'd rather just be friends'! But, um, maybe they should've shown that.)

Can we?
Can we not romanticise abusers, please? (This is not about anything or anyone on here, just something I'm seeing a lot of writers on platforms like WP, Inkitt, RR, etc. doing, so this is for the people that need to hear it.)
If you're sensitive to/find the following topics triggering, please disregard the rest of this post, make yourself some hot chocolate, and have a wonderful day, you wonderful human being <3 :
Physical/Mental/Verbal abuse
SA of any degree
I've been wanting to find some hidden gems on various writing and reading websites, so tonight I decided to go look. Under various genres, I scrolled for longer than I should have—I did this because most of what I found frankly disturbed me.
Romance, fantasy, humour—all full of works romanticising abusers. Why has this become popular?
I decided to then look through the—currently—most popular reads and one of the top ones I found caught my attention. It was a sequel, and the first line of the blurb caught my attention because it sounded poetic. Then I read the rest of the blurb.
This book, tagged humour and romance, was about a girl and the guy who raped her—the blurb essentially being the latter throwing himself a pity party.
Then, curious as I am, I checked out the blurb of the first book, which was basically a graphic description of the SA taking place, followed by a long author's note that in short stated I only want feedback if you like it. There's a third book, but I didn't bother.
Now, I don't want to put anyone down. These topics aren't off limits in writing, and I realise there's a whole subgenre of super dark fiction, and if that's your thing, all the power to you. I write dark fiction sometimes, too. The issue comes when you write a bunch of extremely abusive relationship dynamics and introduce them as romance and humour.
Abuse/SA should not be romanticised.
I cannot tell you how long it took me to find a book that didn't have some sort of Abuser/Victim, Slave/Owner-dynamic.
I think we as writers—and readers—can and should do better.
If you got this far, thank you for reading my ramblings.

I'm cackling at Allura lecturing them about morality. The only wizard in Exandria who took the research ethics course. The lone institutional review board, except the institution is "Arcana Proficiency" and the board is One Very Tired Woman.

Duke have said some shit to this family that if any other person said they would end up with a broken nose.
Even when he does get beat up, it's really fucking clear they're all going easy on him.
Now Damian????
If Damian said or pulled half of the shit Thomas does he would get sucked punch.

I've seen a lot of discourse about Virginia Kull's portrayal of Sally Jackson in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV series, and I'd like to say that I loved her. Don't get me wrong. I love Sally from the original book series, and I, too, would fight the God of War on her behalf. But something that I enjoyed about Virginia's portrayal of Sally that we don't get in the books is the character depth. We don't hear much of Sally's backstory in the TV series, apart from a couple of flashbacks with younger Percy and that scene with Poseidon (Toby Stephens). However, those scenes do an excellent job of showing us that alongside being Percy's mother, Sally is also a young woman who fell in love with a man she could not be with and is enduring the natural consequences of having Percy. She struggles to communicate with him when she's frustrated, gets teary-eyed when she lies to him to prolong the inevitable, and actively sacrifices her happiness to ensure his safety. Virginia Kull's portrayal of Sally Jackson reinforces the character's humanity, imperfections, and determination, and it's everything to me.

As someone who is primary an Ed/Stede shipper...
...that was a rushed and unsatisfying season finale.
Good thing we have fix-it fic!
(Really, show? You subvert so many tropes and clichés, but you're gonna play the tragic deathbed chat straight? I expected better.)

I'm still a little mad at you though, himbo homo, because you knew your crush was gay and you were the more popular one.

But I will not be mad at the little oddball lesbian for lying to her crush instead of owning up to the fact that she is her online pen pal.

I'm disappointed.

Why do a solid 7% of wordle players use "adieu" as their opening word. It's coward behavior. It has no personality. It's unoriginal. It's not even a strong opening word. It will rarely if ever tell you where the vowels go, which means it's useless considering you already know there will be a vowel or two involved, and there are only five to choose from. I don't even think it should count as a word for this purpose because it's not even really a loan word. It's fucking French.
