Eddie Munson x Shy!Reader
Summary: Max and Lucas are tired of their friends silently pining over each other but never making a move, so when the Winter Formal rolls around, they take matters into their own hands.
Warnings: mutual pining, idiots in love, fluffy fluff
WC: 1.8k
A/N: Happy anniversary to the love of my life, @corroded-hellfire 💚 one year ago today, we met in person for the first time, and my life has been infinitely better ever since. Thank you for being my best friend. I love you more than Dustin loves his Weird Al shirt. Red, this fic is for you.

“Kill me now.”
Three words uttered by none other than Max Mayfield, sliding her lunch tray onto the table and sitting down with an irritated sigh.
You look at her with an amused grin. “What is it this time? Bombed a pop quiz? Got detention for flipping off a teacher—again?” Her brazen, flippant attitude provided many entertaining moments, so long as you weren’t on the receiving end of it.
Max shakes her head, spearing a limp macaroni noodle with her plastic fork. “I wish.” She holds up two tickets to the Winter Formal. “Lucas is dragging me to this bullshit. ‘All the other basketball guys’ girlfriends are going,’” she mocks him in an octave much lower than his actual voice, “so I guess that means I have to follow suit.”
Bringing a hand to your heart, you jut out your lower lip in mock-pity. “Oh, no; your boyfriend wants to show you off at a school dance! How will you ever survive?”
Max doesn’t miss a beat. “You could go, too,” she says, blue eyes pleading. “Keep me company when the guys inevitably bail to get wasted in the woods.”
“I don’t—”
“You don’t need a date,” she insists, reading your mind before the words can leave your mouth. “I’m telling you, Lucas is gonna ditch me as soon as Jason and Patrick show up.” She takes your hand between both of hers. “Please? I’ll even tell Ms. Kelly the lengths you went to for your poor, troubled freshie.”
You exhale, knowing that she doesn’t need to go to all of that trouble. You’d started off the school year as her peer mentor, but just a few months later, you two have become close friends. “Fine, I’ll go,” you acquiesce, laughing when she pumps her fists victoriously. “But I’m not gonna be happy about it.”
You return to your own lunch, completely missing the mischievous look that graces her freckled face.
Tumblr media
Unbeknownst to you, a similar discussion is had at Hellfire Club later that same afternoon.
“Absolutely not,” Eddie scoffs, folding his arms across his chest. “Nice try, Sinclair, but I wouldn’t be caught dead at some lame dance.”
“Seriously,” Jeff smirks from his position across the table. “He’s never been to a single one in his ten years of high school.”
Eddie flips him off casually. “It’s only six, asshole. But that doesn’t matter, because I’m not dressing up in some penguin suit to drink unspiked punch with a bunch of shitty people.”
“C’mon, dude,” Lucas says, his tone bordering on a whine. “If you don’t go, I’m gonna be stuck with the jocks all night, and they just wanna suck face with their girlfriends.”
“And you don’t?” Gareth quips.
Lucas rolls his eyes. “Not in front of everyone. And I don’t need a front-row seat to their performances, either.” He turns his attention back to the Dungeon Master. “Look, I’m desperate. Mike’ll be visiting his grandma and Dustin’s grounded because of his D-plus in Spanish.”
Eddie narrows his eyes. “What about Huey, Dewey, and Louie over here?” he asks, gesturing to the three remaining club members.
Their collective responses are jumbled excuses; Eddie swears one of them says he’s going kayaking—in mid-December in Indiana—but he doesn’t bother to sift through their lies. “You owe me, Sinclair,” he declares, pointing his forefinger at the underclassman. “Big time.”
Tumblr media
The next few weeks leading up to the Winter Formal are spent meticulously making plans. For someone who seemed so disinterested in this dance, Max is paying careful attention to each detail.
You walk out of the dressing room in a velvet emerald green dress that hits just above the knee. Max is beaming as she adjusts the off-the-shoulder sleeves and smooths down any creases.
“You look really nice,” she says, nodding her head. She’s trying to temper her enthusiasm, but you can sense her excitement. “I can’t wait to tell Lucas.”
You wrinkle your nose. “Lucas? Why would he care?” He’s a nice kid—more in tune with emotions than the average fourteen-year-old boy—but that doesn’t constitute an interest in your fashion choices.
Max’s cheeks burn as red as her hair. “Uh, well, seeing you happy makes me happy, and seeing me happy makes him happy, so…everyone’s happy?” she finishes lamely. She clears her throat as if expelling the awkwardness from the conversation. “Anyway, let’s buy this dress so we can look for shoes.”
“Yeah, okay.” You’re not fully convinced, but you brush it off and steel your nerves to ask a question. “Is anyone else gonna be there that we know?” You really want to know whether Eddie Munson is going to be there, but you can’t say the quiet part aloud.
“Probably,” she shrugs, a bit too quickly, but she’s pushing you back behind the curtain to change before you can inquire more.
Tumblr media
“Why does this stupid tie need to be green?” Eddie asks, sifting through the store’s selection with Lucas by his side.
“Uh, Christmas colors,” Lucas stammers, fumbling for a decent explanation other than the contents of his secret phone call with Max earlier today. “And, y’know, red is way overdone, so…” he trails off lamely, going back to the display table and hoping Eddie drops the matter.
They find exactly what they’re looking for—not without Eddie complaining about putting in too much effort just to be a third wheel—and make their way over to the food court. Eddie makes a beeline for the Pizza Hut when he stops dead in his tracks. “Shit, Sinclair; we gotta go,” he says urgently, clapping a hand on the younger boy’s shoulder and steering him away from the fast food.
“What the hell? I’m hungry!”
Eddie shakes his head, curls brushing against his shoulders. “Look, man.” He discreetly points to his left, where you and Max are giggling at the Orange Julius. “We can’t let them see us.”
“Dude, she’s like the nicest person ever,” Lucas rebuts. “Even Max likes her, and Max pretty much hates everyone.”
“That’s not the problem.” Eddie rakes his ringed fingers through his hair, wincing when he snags one on a knot. “The problem is that she’s gonna be all, ‘hi, Eddie; what’re you doing at the mall?’ And I’m gonna be all, ‘just picking out a tie for the Winter Formal.” And then she’ll go, ‘oh, who’s your date?” And then I’ll have to say, ‘I don’t have one; I’m just playing babysitter to some freshmen like a goddamn loser!” He hops back and forth to indicate each character change.
“First of all, ouch,” Lucas quips, “second, go hide in the bathroom if you want, but I’m getting something to eat.”
Eddie exhales an exasperated sigh, giving in and schlepping over to Pizza Hut, one of the few times in his life that he’s trying to be inconspicuous.
Tumblr media
You pull into the school parking lot on the night of the Winter Formal and shift into park before killing the engine. Max is bouncing her leg up and down in the passenger seat, lower lip tucked between her teeth.
“What’s on your mind?” you ask, mistaking her excitement for anxiety. “You know that Lucas would think you look beautiful even if you showed up in a potato sack.” You furrow your brow. “Where is he, anyway? Why didn’t he come with us?”
She mumbles something about not wanting her mom to ask any questions about the relationship, and you take them at face value. Her eyes light up when she spots her boyfriend walking into the school alongside…Eddie Munson?
“Eddie’s here?” you ask in a hushed whisper, feeling sweat prickling under your arms. You’ve been nursing a massive crush on him for ages–one that Max is very much aware of. And now he’s here, dressed in a black suit with his hair pulled back into a low bun at the nape of his neck. “Max, why didn’t you tell me? Who’s he going with?” The idea of him slow dancing with someone else has your stomach turning.
Max just shrugs. “I don’t think he had a date.” Too casual, too blasé–she knows something. “C’mon, let’s go in.” She swings the car door open enthusiastically, leaving you shell-shocked in your seat.
“Maxine Mayfield!” you hiss, using her full government name to drive home your bewilderment, but she just skips ahead. Damn your heeled shoes, slowing you down before you can catch up to her. When you finally do, she just grabs your hand and tugs you towards the guys.
She poorly feigns surprise, jaw dropping as she exclaims, “Eddie? What are you doing here? Oh, my gosh, this is such a coincidence!” She pulls you closer, smiling far too wide. “Lucas and I both brought our upperclassmen friends! What are the odds?”
“Yeah, so weird,” Lucas says, not as loud as Max but just as transparent. He looks at Max before regarding you and Eddie. “Okay, well, we’re gonna go dance–bye!” The two of them scamper off, leaving you alone with Eddie. If their stilted dialogue wasn’t evidence enough, the way Eddie’s tie perfectly matches your dress certainly clears up their intentions.
Eddie speaks first, shoving his hands in his pants pockets and nervously swiveling his body. “I, uh, think we’ve been set up,” he says with a small, awkward chuckle. “I swear, it wasn’t my idea. Not–not that it’s a bad thing, I just meant, like, if you’re uncomfortable with this, I don’t wanna be held responsible.” His cheeks burn red. “Shit, I need to stop talking.”
“It’s okay,” you reassure him with your own kind laugh, “we might as well make the most of it. Get some punch and make fools of ourselves out there?” You gesture towards the gym’s makeshift dance floor; the band has just started playing Journey’s “Faithfully.” Eddie’s nods, following you to an empty space, and you timidly drape your arms over his shoulders. Taking care to avoid an inappropriate touch, he rests his palms on the small of your back.
His voice is low when he murmurs in your ear, “you look really beautiful tonight.” He clears his throat and speaks again. “You always look really beautiful, though.”
The two of you sway to the music, swapping shy smiles and fleeting but longing glances. As the song ends, you look over your shoulder. “We’re being spied on,” you report, noting the way the two younger kids are watching you from across the room. You consider your next words before eventually deciding to go for it: “Did you talk to Lucas about me as much as I talked to Max about you?”
“Probably more,” Eddie laughs, bringing you a bit closer. “But I’m interested in comparing notes.”
You nod, staving off any lingering nerves. “Maybe after the dance, we can split a burger from Benny’s and discuss?”
Eddie presses a soft kiss to your forehead. “Yeah,” he says; you can feel his lips move against your skin, “I’d like that.”

long time no sex - jj maybank
Tumblr media
summary - yn goes on vacation for two weeks, leaving jj horny as ever. when she gets back, she makes a decision with john b to try to go as long as possible without doing anything with jj, which she quickly fails.
warnings - full on smut, pet names (baby, babe, darlin’, sweetheart), words such as cock, pussy, shaft and hole are used, jj with a breeding kink?, oral (f given), hand jobs (m given), unprotected sex (WRAP IT BEFORE YOU TAP IT), lil bit of fluff.
a/n - this took me like two days cause i’ve never written full on smut before and i was struggling sm, please lmk what y’all think 🙏
word count - 2,198
post number - 8
reader - she/her, fem.
after a long vacation, yn couldn’t wait to see her boyfriend. the closer john b drove her to the chateau, the more excited she got to see jj.
she’d been gone for two weeks and now she got to see him again.
“yn?” john b broke the silence.
she looked at him, “yeah?”
“please don’t fuck in my house.”
yn made the most shocked face she possibly could, “what- why would we hav- what?!”
“i know you two; you can’t keep your hands off each other for two seconds, and jj has been dying without you here.”
“in what means?”
“he got a hard on from an eighty year old woman picking up her bag that she dropped.” he beat around the bush.
yn snickered, “oh my god! should i make him wait as long as possible just to tease him?”
“yes, definitely. i’ve been meaning to get him back for his pranks recently.”
“you? you’re gonna do the prank?”
john b chuckled, “no but if i agree to it then technically i’m in on it. right?”
“suppose so.”
“i don’t think you’ll be able to go five minutes - either one of you.”
“shut up, jb.”
after another few minutes, they’d finally arrived at the small home, where jj was already waiting on the porch steps. when he saw the van pull up, he immediately jogged over to the passengers side of the van, opening the door to pull his girlfriend out.
he pulled yn towards him as soon as her seatbelt was removed. he pulled her into a hug, as she wrapped her legs around his body.
“hi, baby.” she mumbled into his neck.
jj inhaled yn’s scent, “oh, i’ve missed you so much.”
“i’ve heard.” she looked at him, smirking.
his eyebrows furrowed in confusion, “what?”
“oh, nothing, jb just told me a little something on the ride over.”
he thought for a second, then immediately knew what she meant. he dropped his girlfriend to the floor, only after making sure her feet were on the ground, before turning to john b.
“bro. seriously?”
“it was funny.”
“no, it wasn’t.” jj defended.
“it really was.”
jj turned away, “fuck you, then.”
“aw, poor little baby, jj.” yn teased, “did you get a hard on from someone’s grandma? poor you.”
“i hate you.”
“can we go in now?” john b whined.
and so, the three of them went inside.
for a few hours, yn and jj laid in bed, relaxing, with netflix playing in the background while they conversed. everything was going smoothly until yn made another joke about grandmas.
“fuck you!” jj shouted, pinning his girlfriend down to the bed. yn squealed, trying to wiggle free as the blonde boy held her down by the wrists.
“you wanna carry on?” jj raised his eyebrows.
yn held back her laughter, “no.”
“are you gonna stop now?”
the girl thought for a moment, “no.”
jj got up in yn’s face, “what’s that darling?”
“no.” she got shy, lowering her voice.
“gonna have to do something about that.” their faces were practically touching at this point; they could feel each other’s breath against their skin.
before yn could even reply, jj pressed his lips against his girlfriends, their lips melted together as if it were in their body’s nature to do so.
their lips moved together quickly, but not too quickly. jj’s left hand crept from around yn’s wrist to around her neck, while his other hand slipped down to her thigh.
he gently pressed his hand against her neck - in response, her mouth slightly opened, and a soft whimper came out.
“do that again.” jj whispered into her ear.
“i can’t just make it happen, jj.”
jj moved his lips down from her lips to her neck, nipping at her skin, softly. he knew the response he would get this time - soft, quiet little moans fell from his girlfriends mouth.
his smirk pressed against her collarbone as he left small red marks on her skin. his hands moved to the hem of yn’s shirt.
“can i take this off?” he asked.
“yeah.” she whispered.
without wasting a moment, jj had already taken the girls shirt off and it was now laying on his bedroom floor.
yn’s hand quickly got tangled in jj’s locks as his lips pressed against her breasts.
“jj” she softly bit her lip, holding back a moan.
“good girl.” he praised, “i love your little moans, darlin’, but jb probably wants you to keep quiet. can you do that for me?”
she nodded, getting a soft peck on the lips in return.
jj took his own shirt off, then his shorts, leaving him in nothing but his boxers. by now, jj’s cock pressed against yn’s core, causing a lot of friction. jj removed his lips from around yn’s nipples, going up to her ear.
he nibbled her ear gently, “fuck, you feel what you’re doing to me, sweetheart?”
“fuck me, jj. i can’t wait any longer. it’s been two weeks.”
“tell me about it.” he responded, pulling down his girlfriends jeans, before going to pull off her panties, “this okay?”
“yeah.”
jj quickly discarded of his girlfriends final item of clothing, throwing it onto the floor.
his fingers made their way into his girlfriends pussy, not moving until after he’d spit to make sure it wasn’t going to be uncomfortable, even though she was already wet.
he started with two fingers, slowly pumping them in and out, getting yn’s pussy used to the feeling again. the moans that were now falling from yn’s ears sounded like music to jj’s ears.
jj nipped at yn’s thigh for a moment, leaving another mark, before his tongue made its way to her clit. as his fingers sped up, his tongue was soft, moving up her clit, qs if he was stroking it. as her breathing got heavier, jj sped up his fingers and tensed his tongue slightly, earning godly praise falling from yn’s lips.
“fuck- jj! that feels so good!” one of her hands was tangled in jj’s hair still, while the other was gripping on the bedsheets for dear life.
jj felt yn’s body start to twitch and shake beneath him, hinting that she was close.
waiting for a whimper, which usually let him know she was going to reach her high, he asked, “you close, baby?”
“mhm-“ she whimpered, biting her lip, begging her mouth to stay quiet.
gripping the bedsheets were no longer enough, and yn gripped jj’s hair with her other hand, basically yanking at it now.
jj slipped another finger into his girlfriend’s hole, and his tongue became more passionate as he licked her clit.
“jj! fuck, i’m gonna cum.” she moaned.
“cum for me, darlin’.”
jj’s fingers sped up, going as deep as he could get them, curling them slightly, in order to hit that spot that got yn to climax.
his fingers were now covered in a sticky, cloudy substance, “fuck, baby. you okay?”
“yeah.” she breathed, “that was so good.”
jj reached for a wipe, as he wasn’t one that was much for licking his fingers clean, wiping the cum from his fingers.
“you ready for my cock now, darl?” he asked, pressing a soft kiss to her lips.
she nodded, not giving him the consent he was after.
“verbal.” he spoke, in a low tone.
“yes. please, jj.” yn was practically begging.
finally getting the consent he needed, he discarded of his boxers, also tossing them to the ground.
yn got up to kneel, and wrapped her hand around jj’s shaft. she leant over to spit, making her movements smoother and less uncomfortable for jj.
they were both aware that she wasn’t giving him a full on handjob, just getting him completely hard, but she wanted to tease him a bit. her spare hand crept underneath to jj’s balls, giving them the slightest squeeze possible; jj’s head fell straight into yn’s neck as she stroked his cock, letting out a groan into her skin.
“fuck, baby.” he groaned, “don’t play with me like this.”
she chuckled, “just getting you warmed up, jay.”
while yn stroked jj’s hard on, he went back to pecking at her neck, occasionally nibbling and sucking at her skin.
“oh my god-“ jj held back laughter.
“what?”
“i just gave you a huge hickey, babe.”
yn’s irises widened, “what?!”
she picked up the closest phone to her, which happened to be jj’s and checked in the camera.
“jj!” she scolded, “my brothers are gonna kill me, you dick!”
“i can make it up to you?”
she smirked, as jj tilted in response, almost as if he were asking an actual question. almost as if they were in sync, jj practically dove at yn as she pressed her lips to jj’s.
jj lifted his girlfriend’s leg up and pulled her closer, pressing his cock against her core.
“you ready?” he asked.
“fuck, yeah.”
jj pulled out a tube of lube from his bedside table before smearing a small amount over his cock, then tossed it onto the pillow next to them.
“condom?” he asked, checking what yn wanted.
“nah. i’ve got plan b in your drawer.”
he nodded, then he rubbed his dick up and down her folds, teasing her by rubbing it occasionally on her clit, causing her lower body to slightly twitch.
when yn gave him the okay, he slowly pressed is dick into yn’s hole, trying not to cause her too much discomfort, as it had been a while.
“you hurtin’?” jj asked, genuinely concerned.
“no, just feels a bit strange.”
“am i okay to move then?”
she nodded, “mhm.” giving him the verbal consent she knew jj was after.
jj slowly moved back and forth, pushing in and out of yn’s pussy. he leant into his girlfriend, placing one hand on her hip, and the other on her jaw, before passionately kissing her.
their lips moved as if they were molded together, when jj knew that yn was okay, from the small moan that fell against his own lips, his pace sped up.
“baby-“ yn grabbed jj’s shoulder, “fuck- go faster, jj.”
jj’s hips thrusted in and out faster than before, hitting yn’s cervix, repeatedly.
yn could no longer kiss jj; her nails were currently digging into his back, as her teeth were softly pressing into jj’s neck, “fuck me, jj.”
“i am, darlin’.” he breathed.
by now they were both a complete mess, hickeys all over the both of them, teeth marks in jj’s neck, nail marks on yn’s hip and scratches across jj’s back.
jj threw his head back, flicking his now sweaty hair out of his face, in order to see his beautiful girlfriend again.
“fuck- you’re so beautiful.” he moaned, admiring yn’s body.
she pulled jj closer to her, as his cock twitched inside her and her vision was partially covered by white spots. she kissed jj, as they both couldn’t hold back anymore - their breaths became one, as they moaned and groaned in between kisses onto each other lips.
“i’m gonna cum, sweetheart.” jj informed yn, pressing his head into the inside of her neck.
“me.. too-“ she struggled to breath out.
as they were getting closer and closer to reaching their highs, jj’s hips slapped against yn’s skin faster and harder than before, he almost couldn’t control it anymore.
“can i cum inside you?” he asked.
“yes, fuck- please cum inside me, jj” she moaned, consenting once again.
with the consent he was given, he thrusted into his girlfriend a few more times, before the both of them had their orgasms.
jj pressed his forehead against yn’s, slowly thrusting, as yn held his head.
“i love you so much.” yn whispered.
“i love you too, baby.” jj responded, pressing a kiss to her lips, before flopping down onto the pillow next to him, “ow, forgot i put that there.”
jj passed the lube to yn, who then placed it into the drawer next to her.
both their chests were quickly moving up and down as they caught their breaths.
“can i clean you up, sweetheart?”
“yeah, jay.”
jj reached to grab a tissue from the bedside table next to him, and gently wiped around yn’s now sensitive areas, wiping the substances off her, then grabbing a wipe to properly clean her. he then threw them both into the bin before laying back down, only for yn to do the same cleaning process to jj.
“i don’t understand why you never clean yourself off after me.”
“guess i just prioritise you.”
“how cute.” yn joked.
jj chuckled, “shut up. wanna stay here for a bit or do you wanna get some food and a drink?”
“i’m kinda hungry.”
“let’s get changed then and we can go grab some food.” jj responded, getting up, before pulling his girlfriend up with him, making sure she stabilised herself before he let go of her.
they both got changed before they left jj’s room and headed into the kitchen area of the chateau.
while jj made food, yn went over to john b, and whispered, “i failed.”
“i know. my poor ears had to hear it all.”

Tumblr media
You gnaw on your cheek as you read over the letter. Final warning. You really didn't think much of the first five but that word catches your worry; litigation.
Your mother grunts and clicks her pen, dropping it as she curses under her breath. She tosses the crossword book away from the chair. For all your life, you remember her working on her puzzles. Now, she can hardly hold pen steady enough to put in a single clue.
"Mom, you want another coke before I head out?" You ask.
"Where are you 'headed out' to?" She scowls.
"Just outside. Try to figure out the mower."
"Piece of shit," she sneers and for a moment, you're not sure if she means the machine or you.
"So..."
"Just go," she snips.
You purse your lips around the cut of her tone. You leave her in her recliner and you go down the hallway to the back door. You shove your feet into your stained vans and let yourself gently outside.
You come down the steps and cross the overgrown grass to the garage. You prop the door open with an old paint can and drag put the mower. You haul it over to the little patch of pavement by the house as the sunlight raises beads of sweat across your forehead.
You shade your eyes and squint. You don't get the thing. It's not even motorized, it just started catching. You can't push it hard enough to make it go. It only bounces uselessly across the ground.
You squat and put it on its side. You examine the blades, nervous to dig between the mulching teeth. You grab a stick and poke around. It breaks and you rip it out.
"Dang it," you whisper.
You stand up. It's too hot to think. As much as you miss the sunshine in the grim winters, the heat is less than welcome.
"Hey, excuse me," a voice startles you. You ignore it, thinking maybe it's just the neighbours on the other side of the fence. "Um, miss?"
You turn towards the voice and find a man peeking through the loose slat in the fence. You sigh. Yeah,
that needs to be fixed too.
You stare dumbly. You recognise the man. It takes a few seconds to remember where you saw him. He was with the realtor. You hadn't see much yet, not that you ventured outside often. The sign changed to sold and that was that.
"Hi, uh, so this," he touches the plank, swiveling it on the hanging nail.
You nod and go to the edge of the patch of pavement but no further. You nibble your lip and search for something to say. Talking to mom is easy, you know what to expect, but strangers are different.
"Gonna fix it," you assure him flatly.
"Yeah, well, I was actually thinking, I'm just doing a few touch ups right now and I could spare a couple nails or two."
You tilt your head and bring your hands together, mashing your palms anxiously, "it's rotted."
He wiggles the wood and little slivers fall away. He hums disappointed, "sure is." He smiles as his blue eyes shine in the sunlight, "no problem then. I'm sure I can find something at the hardware store."
You hesitate. You should mention you can afford even half a plank. Grandma left you the house and enough to cover property taxes, but mom's monthly cheques are already stretched thin. If he doesn't ask, you won't offer.
"Steve," he stretches his arm through the opening.
You look at his hand. Your stomach flip flops. You don't want to be rude as much as you don't want to touch this strange man. Well, no use in making another enemy around here.
You lift your feet as you trudge through the high grass. As you near, the sweat slakes down your back. You gently shake his hand, just for a second, and pull back.
"And your name? Neighbour?"
You stare at the collar of his grey tee shirt and eke your name out.
“Is it just you over here?” He asks.
You shake your head. You bend your arm to pick at your sleeve. You don’t mind introductions but you’re not much for conversation. You don’t need him prying into things. If anyone really saw inside those walls, they’d only feel bad for you. You’d rather their apathy.
“Oh, you got kids? A husband?”
You wince. It’s almost a flattering assumption yet a reminder of everything you don’t have. You’re not old enough to really think about all that anyway.
You glance back at the side of the house. You should hose that down and get rid of the mildew. Another tick on the endless list.
“Mom,” you say.
“Ah, makes sense. You in school?”
You shake your head again. He’s quiet. You sway listlessly.
“Anyway...” he says.
You put your head down and back away. You go back to the mower, bending down to fiddle with it again. You could see if anyone would lend you one but that means asking and as much as the neighbourhood paints itself in friendly smiles, they aren’t genuine. The letter on the kitchen table is proof of that.
“Not working?” The man, Steve asks. You cringe and stand up. He’s still there.
You shrug as you look at him. You turn back to the mower and lift it by the handles. You try to ignore the nosy neighbour and line it up with the grass. You push and it doesn’t move easy. You grunt and it rolls over the grass. You think maybe it’s working but as you turn, you notice the grass stands back up, only slightly bent.
“You know, I got a nice electric one. Isn’t here yet but I can bring it tomorrow on the truck,” he offers, “I wouldn’t mind doing a once over, if you need.”
You huff and push the mower over.
“Can’t pay you,” you stomp back towards the house.
“I didn’t say anything about money,” he chimes.
You stop by the steps and cross your arms. You look at him, “too much.”
“Well, if you change your mind, you can just come knock on my door,” he says.
You nod and spin around again. You climb the steps, fighting to keep your steps even. You want to run inside and hide but you don’t want him to see how desperate you are to get away.
The screen door snaps shut behind you. You kick off your shoes and go down the hall. Your mother huffs from her recliner.
“You figure it out?” She asks.
“No,” you flop onto the couch.
“Knew ya wouldn’t,” she snorts as she stares out the window. “Man’s back. Musta bought the place.”
“Uh, yeah,” you lean back, pulling the collar of your shirt over your face to sop up the sweat. “It’s hot.”
“Nah, you’re just whiny,” she snickers.
You don’t respond. You know better than that. You let her have her truth. Whatever she thinks of you, you can’t disprove. The world is she says it is.
🏠
Your bedroom window shines yellow with the noon sun. The heat beams down on the folding table, warming your hands as you scratch charcoal onto thick paper. You still have grass stains on your fingers from another fruitless attempt at fixing the mower. Another day and you expect another letter isn’t far behind.
As you focus on the lines and curves left by the pencil, your anxiety subsides. Drawing is the only thing that helps you forget. Really forget. You don’t think about the house or the lawn or the HOA or your mom. It’s just you and the pencil.
You lean your forehead in your hand as you cross hatch the shadows. The chirping birds and the soft breeze deepen your trance. The world around you is distant and dim. You’re only awoken but the sudden and unfamiliar ‘ding dong’.
You sit up. It takes a moment before you realise what it was. The doorbell? No one ever rings it. No, even Marge from the HOA waits until you come out to get the mail to accost you.
You put the pencil down and get up. You go out and peek down the hallway. You creep along and stop at the doorway to the front room. You mom sniffs and wipes her eyes. She must have fallen asleep in her chair.
“Who is it?” She snarls with grogginess in her throat.
“I don’t know,” you go to the door and pull the curtain away from the long window beside it. You peek out at the figure on the porch and quickly hide behind the fabric. Too late. “It’s... the neighbour. I think he saw me.”
“Ergh, don’t be stupid, girlie,” your mother barks, “help me up.”
“Oh, uh, okay.”
You go to her and offer your hand. You get her to her feet. She slightly hunched and slow but she makes her way to the door. She pauses and turns to the mirror above the little bench against the wall. She tidies her hair and wipes her mouth with the back of her hand.
She leans on the door as she grips the handle. She opens it and the man from next door, Steve, greets her with a grin.
“Hello?” She sweetens her tone.
“Hello, miss, sorry to bother you,” he says, “I just moved in next door and I’m getting settled in. I was just about to do some lawn work and I thought maybe I might offer to do yours? It’s no trouble, I just thought I’d offer.”
“Oh, what a honey you are,” she preens, “of course, that would be lovely of you. My daughter,” she sighs and shakes her head, “I’ve been nagging her for weeks to get it done.”
“Really, it’s not a bother,” he assures her, “I’m Steve by the way.”
His smile is just as charming as his introduction.
“Holly,” your mother returns, “I’ll make you some lemonade for your trouble. It’s a hot one, isn’t it?”
“Sounds good,” he agrees, “I’ll try not to make too much noise.”
You peek out from behind your mother. Steve’s eyes meet yours for an instant before she blocks her out, no doubt eager to hide the state of the house from him. You back up as she turns to you.
“What’re you doing hanging on like a rodent?” She hisses, “go make some lemonade.”

Hi, I can request dad! neteyam x reader, where we kiss children very much and for a long time (as we do our pets, cats are cool) hehe
hii!! yes you cannn 🥰
i want to preface this by explaining what pillow kisses are:
pillow kisses are when the parent sits beside their child, grabs both sides of the pillow that their head is resting on, and lifts it up enough so they can kiss the child’s forehead, then gently places them back down. it is a repeated motion, for as many letters as there are in the child’s name, or how many years old they are, the parent can choose.
pillow kisses
⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰
“txonuk! nima! come. time to get out of the water.” neteyam states, standing at the edge of the water with you, se’ayl, and tsantu.
neither of them move, still treading in the shoulder-deep water, giggling to themselves.
“we’re going make a quick stop to visit grandma and grandpa!” you say, trying to convince them to get out of the creek. jake and neytiri’s marui was on the way for you, and the children never missed an opportunity to see their grandparents.
nima gasps, but remains in the water, smiling to herself.
txonuk remains unphased, apart from treading in place.
“don’t make me come get you two.” neteyam says, in a slightly threatening tone.
keeping her lips just below the water, nima giggles, her laughter bubbling to the surface.
txonuk dares to even tread backwards, floating along the surface.
“very well.” neteyam wades into the water, disappearing below the surface.
nima squeals, frantically splashing now, looking around for her father in the water.
suddenly, txonuk screams, as neteyam resurfaces, grabbing and throwing him over his shoulder.
nima screams too, trying to swim away to the edge of the water, but neteyam scoops her up in his arms, walking both of them out of the water on his shoulders.
“daddy, downnn!” nima giggles, her laughter infectious.
“you had your chance, my mischievous children.” neteyam uses the hand supporting each child to begin tickling them, causing them both to erupt in a fit of laughter, squirming in your mates’ arms.
you take se’ayl and tsantu’s hands, as you walk the short distance to jake and neytiri’s marui.
swinging your childrens’ hands in yours, you approach the outside of your in-laws' humble abode.
“grandma!!” se’ayl shouts, letting go of your hand, running to her grandmother’s side.
neytiri turns, smiling as she crouches down to hold her arms out. “my sweet grandchildren, what a nice surprise.” she says warmly, kissing the top of se’ayl and tsantu’s heads, wrapping her arms around them.
“we went swimming at the creek!” tsantu says, happily.
neteyam sets both nima and txonuk down, who run to hug jake’s legs.
“the creek, huh?” jake asks, tousling txonuk’s hair and picking up nima.
“gwampa!!” nima squeals, wrapping her tiny arms around jake’s neck.
he chuckles, running his palm up and down her small back. “hi babygirl. look atcha, you’re gettin so big! ” he lightly tosses her in the air, which she loves.
“again, again!!” nima squeals, clapping her hands together.
“dad? momma?” txonuk questions, grabbing each of your hands, swinging them back and forth.
“yes, my son?” you both answer in sync.
“can we spend tomorrow with grandma and grandpa?” he asks, before yawning, rubbing a small fist against his eye.
you and your mate exchange a glance, before neteyam answers.
“i’m not sure, txonuk. grandma and grandpa are very busy, i-”
“of course they can.” neytiri cuts her son off, smiling at her grandchildren.
tsantu yawns, leaning his forehead against your leg. “mama, i’m sleepy.”
“this one’s gonna be out like a light any second.” jake chuckles, gently rubbing nima’s back, who’s eyes are struggling to stay open.
“we’d better get them home for a good nights sleep, then.” you smile and pick up tsantu gently, caressing the back of his head. you didn’t care that he was fully capable of walking himself, he was still your first born, and your baby.
neteyam takes nima from jake, gently removing her arms from around his neck.
kissing your in laws goodbye, you and neteyam lead your children home for the night.
entering your own marui, your children pile in, plopping on the mat where you all sleep, exhausted.
“mamaaa?” se’ayl yawns, grabbing her pillow.
“yes, my little love?” you say, kneeling to lay tsantu down.
“can you do pillow kisses tonight, please?”
you smile down at your daughter, tucking baby hairs behind her ear. “of course i can.”
“me tooo! i want kisses too!!” txonuk says, grabbing his own pillow.
neteyam settles beside you, his tail tickling your lower back. grabbing both sides of txonuk’s pillow, he raises his son’s forehead to his lips.
“t *kiss* x *kiss* o *kiss* n *kiss* u *kiss* k.” *kiss*
txonuk giggles the entire time, and neteyam joins, finding his son’s laughter contagious.
“goodnight, my little warrior. i love you.”
“night, dad. love you” txonuk yawns, closing his eyes.
you raise se’ayl’s pillow up, gently pressing your lips to her forehead.
“s *kiss* e *kiss* a *kiss* y *kiss* l.” *kiss*
se’ayl smiles, resting her hand on your cheek as she yawns, saying
“goodnight, mama. thank you for the pillow kisses.”
“goodnight, my little flower. i love you”
“love you.” she mumbles, half asleep.
moving to sit beside tsantu, you repeat the process.
“t *kiss* s *kiss* a *kiss* n *kiss* t *kiss* u.” *kiss*
tsantu raises his hands to your face then, pressing his lips to your forehead.
“goodnight, mama. i love you.”
“goodnight, my little warrior. i love you more.”
neteyam gently raises nima’s pillow up, as she’s already asleep, quietly whispering
“n *kiss* i *kiss* m *kiss* a.” *kiss*
and gently sets her back down, rubbing his thumb against her cheek.
“goodnight my little flower, i love you. sweet dreams.”
finally, settling in for the night, you lay down next to your mate, trailing your fingers down his chest to his hip bone, and back up.
you lean over then, placing a plump kiss to his lips. he reaches up, cupping your cheek as he quickly deepens the kiss. before it grows to anything too intense, he pulls away, smirking before whispering “i can’t wait to have you all to myself tomorrow.”
“mmmmm. g’night. i love you.” you mumble against his chest, as the sound of his heartbeat slowly lulls you to sleep.
“goodnight, my love. i love you more.” he wraps his arms around you, before drifting off to sleep himself.

Tumblr media
a night out without the kids. almost an unheard of event. but tonight corroded coffin were performing their annual concert the night before halloween.
sissy & oz toted their overnight bags up the paved sidewalk to grandma and grandpa’s house— the same house you had once called home when the wheeler’s took you in as a teen.
reaching the front door eddie squats to eye level with the twin three year olds. “okay you two,” he says in his fatherly tone, “last time you stayed the night grandpa said you terrorized the cat.”
“i no do it daddy,” sissy speaks her little voice high pitched and tattling, “ows chaseded hims.”
a frown spreads on her brothers face his brown eyes pleading, “i did not! sissy made tinky swim in the potty!”
eddie bites his lip to hide a laugh and you take a deep breath, “that’s another thing, the cat’s name is bruce, not stinky.”
“but mama,” sissy complains, head held high in a defiant pose— one eddie recognizes as a mini version of his wife, “boose 's hard to say.”
eddie ruffles her hair and stands up, talking out of the side of his mouth, “always arguing like someone else i know,”
his large hand slides down the curve of your ass pinching the leather fabric snug on your skin, giving it a tight little squeeze.
“eddie!” you scold, swatting his hand away, “not in front of the babies.”
he grabs your waist and pulls you back into him before you can rap your knuckles on the front door. his mouth is hot in your ear, “sorry mama,” he purrs, dancing his tongue on the shell of your ear, “you just look so fucking hot tonight.”
sissy and oz are both slapping the door with both palms as it swings inward. “who’s makin’ all that racket?!”
“gwampa! it’s us!”
“issy and ows!”
wayne smiles as big as he always did when his grandbabies visited, “are you sure y’all ain’t no robbers are ya?”
“gwampa’s silly, daddy!” oz squeaks, squeezing wayne tight around his leg.
eddie grins and chuckles, “aww nah buddy that word is ‘senile’”
you smack eddie in the chest and usher the kids inside to play with their cousin, alex. “thanks for watching them tonight, we really appreciate it,” you say to wayne reaching through the threshold and giving him a hug.
“ah, ain’t no problem,” wayne says flipping eddie the bird behind your back, “karen and i love these little turds.”
“u too oh two be good for grandpa and grandma okay? eddie hollers, “be nice to the cat, sissy… i’m talkin’ to you.”
her little nose wrinkles into a pout and her brows furrow together.
“swear to christ himself, that kid is the spittin’ image of you, tooty.”
“god help me.” eddie pouts, “i’m gonna go gray before i’m forty.”
you kiss the kids goodbye and wave from the windows of your jeep before heading to the hideout. eddie looked particularly good tonight, leather pants, a cut off shirt, he even let you smear some eyeliner on his eyelids before tonight’s gig.
“nervous?” you ask, carrying some cords from eddie’s old van that now belonged to big d.
gareth walks past you with an amp, “not really, the hideouts like home away from home, makes me feel 18 again.”
you smile and ruffle his still thick curls, “will coming tonight?”
a sad look replaces his smile, “haven’t talked to him in a week… last i heard from jonathan he was staying with joyce and hopper.”
“he’ll come around man,” eddie says coming through the back door, “he loves you.”
“yeah, i hope.”
the boys— men now— rocked a killer show, fans still screaming for the band even though half of them were married and the lead singer had two kids.
you were front in center, in your designated spot that you always stood after the first show where eddie sang ‘lady evil’ just for you.
now you were sporting a new homemade shirt, ‘sitter’ crossed out with ‘mama’ his old leather jacket on your shoulders.
a hand sits on your lower back you giggle, “jeez nance, how drunk are you?”
only it wasn’t nancy, but a random guy. burly and tall, a thick beard on his face matching the short hair on his head, balancing a cowboy. you didn’t recognize him from anywhere and you pull back with a shocked face,
he smiles and you can smell liquor on his breath as he leans in real close, “been watchin’ you all night little darlin’ looks like you need a drink.”
you scowl and turn away from him, looking for jonathan and nancy but they’re nowhere to be found.
“hey,” he blunders stumbling towards you, “you like cowboys?”
you don’t want to give him the time of day or even the satisfaction of a tasteful retort so you do your best to ignore him, looking at eddie as he turns to thrash the guitar riff with jeff.
eddie turns back around to continue the song and shoots you a wink, the same time a big sloppy pair of lips press on your cheek, hard and unwelcoming.
you didn’t see eddie’s eyes turn to black or the way he dropped the neck of his guitar hands balled into fist, you were seeing your own scarlet red, turning and slapping the face of the drunk asphalt “cowboy”.
eddie cuts the band and grabs the mic, “hey fucker!” he pushes his lips in a smooch and whistles like a dog, “here boy, up here.. yeah you— the guy who just got slapped.”
cowboy slap face looked up to the band, “what?”
“you must be new to town, huh? a drifter maybe?”
he lifts his head and spits on the ground, “what’s it to you?”
eddie laughs a little crazy-like, “… that,” he says pointing to you, “is my wife… and i’m sure you don’t know this or maybe your marbles are a little rattled up there with the cobwebs, but..” he jumps from the stage in a dramatic flare, wet hair bouncing behind him, skin slicked in sweat.
he tossing the mic behind him, standing tall and flicking the brim of the guys hat, toe to toe. “i’m not afraid to kill a man.”
“you’re bluffin’,”
“wouldn’t be my first, and for her,” he says moving you behind him, “won’t be my last,”

All The Lovers in the Night
Tumblr media
“Smells like rain.”
Billy glances from the movie he’s watching to where you’re leaning on the window sill, your nose nearly pressed against the screen.
“Hm?”
It’s cool out, early spring.
“Rain,” you say again, “C’mere.”
Graduation was months ago, and since then you and Billy spend as much time as possible together. Now, you’re at his place while his dad is away on a business trip. Susan doesn’t stand in the way of you being together, as long as you all have some idea of which friends Max is hanging out with. She’s with Lucas and the others, so you and Billy have the house to yourselves and you’ve taken up in the living room.
You’re on your knees in front of the window beside the TV, transfixed by the little green yard and the trees just beyond. All settled under graying clouds. Billy comes to stand beside you.
“Smells like…” he pauses, leaning down and closing his eyes. He’s been so at ease since his dad left. Since his ribs healed and the nightmares lessened. So much more thoughtful. More like his true self than he ever would’ve been before.
“Kinda like ocean.” He says as he looks out. He’s smiling but only with his eyes.
“Yeah,” you say, taking another big inhale. “Wet dirt, and like…” another breath “the way it smells on foggy mornings, ya know?”
He nods. He sits down on the hardwood, one knee bent as he reclines on the opposite arm.
“You’re missing your movie,” you say.
His eyes are far away, looking out into the sky.
“It used to be quiet in our house when it stormed,” he says. “My grandma lived with us and she used to make me and my mom huddle up in the living room and pray until it passed. Normally, my dad bitched about everything that woman said, but…when it stormed, something came over him, too. Everything would just get mellow and we’d sit there…damn. I forgot about that.”
A cool, damp breeze rolls over you, and slowly a shush drums up from the ground as the rain starts to fall. Quietly at first, and then louder, filling the air with scattered water and the sour smell of soil. Billy loops an arm around your waist and pulls you into his lap. He tucks his face into your neck and kisses the chilled skin before returning his eyes to the window. You settle into him, closing yourself into the warmth of his arms.
“There’s so much I wish I could change about what happened to you.”
Your words feel thin. Maybe they’ll slip right out the window and be trampled by the rain. Broken through like butterfly wings.
“I know,” he says “I know what you'd do for me if you could.”
His arms tighten around you, somehow bringing you closer to his chest. You know the words are meant to be comforting, but they make you feel powerless. You sit there drowning in all the nothing you can do to fix the things he suffered with. Before you know it, you’ve sniffled, and he turns you to face him with a hand under your chin.
“Hey,” he says, his face tightening into a stern glare. “You don’t get to be mad at yourself about shit you can’t change. Remember we made that rule?” You nod, but it only makes it worse that he cares so much. “Keep being a crybaby you’re gonna get yourself in trouble.”
A laugh bursts out of you, regardless of your tears. He’s able to make you laugh whenever he wants, it’s like some weird superpower he has. He smiles a little and kisses you, letting his lips linger.
“Don’t worry,” he says. “You can’t have more regrets than me and shit…I’m here.”
You’re flooded with more words, more sentiment than you’d ever burden one person with. It’s too much. So you kiss him again and try to telegraph it all through the dense space between your internal self and his. You try to send him healing and care. Compassion beyond description. Forgivenesses not yours to give. All of it. Everything.
For a moment, when he’s filling you, you think he feels it. By some miracle of the body and the sound of rain, he finally feels how much you love him. You’re so happy you could die.

Obvious - Fezco
Summary: You insist on meeting your cousin Rue's drug dealer and an interesting friendship develops in the process.
Fezco x Reader
Word Count: 4,840
Author's Note: Started this in March of 2022 and it's finally getting posted lol. This is my first Fezco fic since Angus' passing which is so hard to type I'm crying at that. I still miss him. A lot. Dividers from @firefly-graphics
Tumblr media
Rue was your closest cousin. Not that you had many, and the few you did have lived somewhere outside of East Highland, but that was beside the point. She was a year younger than you, so the two of you spent most of your childhood glued to one another. When her dad died, you saw the toll it took on her. You realized then that she started using but she played it off like she had it all under control. That’s what an addict does. Eventually you did confront her about it. She said it was mostly weed, so you let it slide. One day she had you drive her to restock her supply. That’s when you met Fezco for the first time.
“So you’re the guy selling my baby cousin drugs,” you blurted out after Rue did a quick introduction then started making her way to Ashtray behind the refrigerated drinks.
“Y/N, what the fuck,” Rue shouted at you annoyed. “You’re only a year older than me.”
“A year and three months,” you corrected. You only got specific with the three months to annoy Rue. You crossed your arms over your chest as you eyed the ginger sitting on the counter in front of you. “And how old are you?”
Fez observed you carefully. It’s not everyday some random person immediately brings up him selling drugs directly to his face. Especially a cute random person. “You always talk to new people like this?”
“Only when my cousin’s health is at stake.” You sighed and shook your head. “Look, I don’t have beef with you. I realized a while ago that Rue’s gonna do what she wants. I just want to make sure she’s being safe about it... well, as safe as you can get with drugs.”
Fez nodded along as you spoke understanding your concern for your cousin. He knew Rue wasn’t going around promoting that she was doing drugs or that he sold. You were just looking out for her. “I get it.”
“I’ve heard too many stories about people overdosing on Fentanyl or something they didn’t know was laced with Fentanyl. I don’t want to find out that happened to my cousin.”
“You don’t have to worry, ma. I don’t mess with that shit. All my stuff is good.”
You squinted at him taking in his words. “Better be. Otherwise I’m gonna kick your ass.”
Fez chuckled. He didn’t doubt for a second you wouldn’t fight behind Rue. “Understood.”
“You go to school with Rue? I ain’t never seen you ‘round before.” Fez went to most of the East Highland High School parties to deal. Since he’s never seen you there, either you didn’t go to that school, or you didn’t go to parties. Either way, he was missing out on you.
“Oh God, no,” you said. “I go to Centenary.”
“Oh, so you smart smart.” You smiled and rolled your eyes at Fezco’s statement, and he decided right then and there that was something he wanted to see more of.
“Something like that,” you replied giggling.
“You ready to go, Y/N,” Rue popped up practically out of no where and asked. Damn, why did Rue have to be so quick.
“Uhh, yeah,” you said to your cousin. Rue shoved her hands into her dad’s old maroon jacket and started to walk out the store. You turned to Fezco and said, “I’m gonna be watching you, sir.”
Fez smiled at the thought. “I look forward to it, ma.”
After that, you made a few impromptu trips to Fez’s store without Rue. You told him your grandma lived in the neighborhood, which she did, so it wasn’t a lie. But Fez did point out that before Rue, you had never came to the store before.
“I mean I could always go somewhere else for my carbonated beverages if you want,” you said as you turned on your heel to leave the store without making your usual purchase.
“Nah,” Fez replied grabbing your wrist stopping you, “I ain’t say all that.”
When your mom told you that Rue overdosed, you couldn’t help but feel guilty. Maybe if you had told your Aunt Leslie what Rue was doing, she could have got some help. But you knew Rue. Ever since her dad’s death she had been struggling. She would have to finally deal with that grief if she was going to stop, and you knew that was the last thing she wanted to do.
A few days after Rue’s overdose, you went to visit Fezco. You weren’t sure if he knew or not. Even though he was her dealer, he was close to Rue, so you thought he should know. And it would be better coming from you than to hear it on the street.
“Well if it isn’t Y/N Y/L/N,” Fezco greeted you with a smile on his face.
You tried to smile at the red head, but it was weak. “Hey Fezco.”
“What’s wrong,” Fez asked, immediately knowing something was up.
You walked to him fiddling with your fingers nervous to tell him about your cousin. “Uh... it’s Rue,” you said looking up at him with somber eyes. “She overdosed.”
Fez’s face became tense. He didn’t question it. He wasn’t shocked, just sad.
You couldn’t take looking into his piercing blue eyes any longer and set your eyes on the candy on the counter. “She’s still at the hospital going through withdrawals. Aunt Leslie’s going to put her in rehab when she gets out.”
“I’m sorry, Y/N,” Fez said as he placed his hand on your arm to comfort you. Your eyes met his again and you could tell he genuinely felt bad.
“Its..,” you paused and laughed. “I was going to say it’s okay, but its not. She didn’t die, so that’s great but... I didn’t know it was this bad with her.”
Fez dropped his hand and leaned against the counter behind him. “Why’d you come here, ma?”
You looked at him confused. “What are you talking about? Rue’s your friend, I thought you should know.”
“She is but... you ain’t come here to blame me?”
You were taken aback. “No, Fez. It’s not your fault. Rue made a choice. And if she didn’t get her drugs from you, it would be someone else.”
Fez was quiet as he took in what you said. You wanted to, no, needed him to understand this wasn’t his fault.
“Listen to me Fezco. Rue’s got a lot of problems that she has to deal with. She was using drugs to cope with her grief. I know you wouldn’t want her to OD. I’d rather know she was going to you for her fix, than some random guy who didn’t give two shits about whether or not she lived or died. So I don’t want you putting any of this on yourself, okay?”
Fez gave a small nod to let you knew he understood. You don’t know if he actually believed what you said, but you were glad it was out there.
Over the summer, you visited the store more frequently. You did see him outside the store once at a pool party. Of course you pointed out that you’d never seen him at a party before. Your crowd was a little different than the East Highland High School bunch. Fez played it off though, but you knew he was only there for you.
An unexpected hangout occurred one evening when you stopped by the store on a cloudy day. The flow of customers was already crazy slow, then it started raining and store had been empty besides you, Fez, and Ash for the last hour.
“Aye, bro, can we go home? I’m bored as shit,” Ash said coming from behind the refrigerators.
Fez looked to you sitting on top of the freezer that held the popsicles and ice-cream before he spoke. “Uh, yeah. Go head and pack up.”
You hopped off your self designated spot in store. “Welp, I guess that’s my queue to head home.”
“Nah,” Fez said and stopped you in your tracks. “You ain’t gotta go home.”
“But I gotta get outta here,” you interrupted giggling.
“Nah, ma. I was finna say you could come to my place and hang... if you want.”
Your eyebrows shot up. Fez’s and your relationship mostly consisted of you just hanging out at his store while he worked. The two of you texted every now and then, but that was about it.
“Oh... Uh, sure,” you managed to stammer out. Then you realized that didn’t sound very enthusiastic so you added, “Yeah, I’d love to come over.”
You followed Fez and Ashtray home in your car since you drove yourself to the store. You were anxious the whole way there and the rain definitely wasn’t helping.
Fez’s place looked homey. The living room felt familiar; the couches reminding you of your grandma’s house.
“You want anythin’ to drank,” Fez asked making his way to the kitchen.
“Uh, no, I’m good. Thanks though,” you replied slowly making your way to where he went. It was always awkward the first time you went over to a friend’s house.
Fez reappeared from the kitchen with a beer in his hand. He eyed you for a second before speaking. “You want to watch a movie or somethin’?”
The rest of the evening was spent on Fez’s couch, watching old 90′s movies. Even Ashtray joined you for one. It was nice. It felt normal, not like you somehow became friends with you cousin’s drug dealer.
Tumblr media
“Oh my God, Fezzy,” you shouted excitedly. “You won’t believe- Rue,” you paused when you saw your cousin coming from the back door that led to Ashtray. You glanced at Fez, then back to Rue. “What are you doing here?”
“Just popped in for a visit,” Rue answered. Her hands fidgeted in her pockets of her dad’s jacket.
“Unhuh...,” you hummed knowing she didn’t just stop by to see the boys.
“What are you doing here,” Rue asked curious.
“I came by to see Fez,” you stated quickly. “You just got out of rehab, Rue.”
Rue rolled her eyes at you. “Yeah, and I had no plans on staying clean. I learned my lesson cuz. I know my limits now.”
You shook your head in disbelief. “You only know your limits cause you overdosed Rue! You almost died!”
“Key word being almost.”
“Oh my God,” you shook your head again turning away from the conversation. “I’ll talk to you later, Fez,” you said then turned to walk out of the store.
“Hey, Y/N,” Rue said and you stopped in your tracks. “You’re not gonna tell my mom are you?”
You huffed exhausted by your cousin. You telling her mom should be the least of her concerns. You still faced the door but turned your head to look at Rue. Your eyes glossed over with frustrated tears. “I wish you cared about yourself like the rest of us do.”
Two weeks went by before you saw Fez again. The ginger was starting to think you blamed him for Rue’s relapse. Even though you had told him Rue made a choice to do drugs so it wasn’t his fault, your silence made him think you thought otherwise now.
It was Sunday afternoon when Fez heard someone at his door. He looked through the peephole and saw you, then quickly opened the door.
“What’s up, ma?”
“Hey... I went by the store first but you weren’t there. I know I should have called or something, but I just wanted to see you.”
“Nah, you good. I’m just surprised is all.”
“Is this a bad time?”
“Nah, come in,” Fez said then stepped to the side to let you in.
“Thanks,” you replied as you walked past him. You had only been in Fez’s place once, but it felt familiar. You just stood in the entry way while Fez closed the door. “Um, can we talk?”
“Yeah, come on,” Fez said nodding towards the living room.
Fez took his usual place on the couch and you followed suit sitting beside him.
“I’m sorry about ghosting you these last two weeks,” you said, not being able to make eye contact with him. You felt guilty for ignoring him even though your issues were with Rue. Fez just sat there quiet. He wasn’t a man of many words, but you needed him to say something. “Not to sound cliché, but it was me not you.”
“It sure felt like it was because of me,” Fez said.
You turned on the couch to face him more. “It wasn’t, Fez. I promise. I’m mad at Rue, and I didn’t know how to deal with it.”
“Yeah, but she got her drugs from me and Ash. I could have told her no.”
“And then she would have thrown a fit and went somewhere else. Probably somewhere dangerous.”
“Why you keep makin’ excuses for me? You shouldn’t be anywhere near me.”
“What,” you asked, your eyebrows pinched together in confusion. “Fez, no, I don’t want to be anywhere else but near you.” You spoke before you could realize what you were saying but it was true. Fez finally looked towards you and you averted his eyes. The silence was too loud. You were careful with your next words. “If I have to tell you every day, then I will,” you said slowly then looked back up at him. “Rue’s choice to do drugs, and keep doing them after her OD, is hers and hers alone. It’s not your fault.”
Fez took in what you said and how it made him feel then began to shake his head. “Nah, y/n. You tryin’ to justify it still don’t make it right.”
“Fine,” you said exhausted, throwing your hands up in the air. “It’s not right! Rue coping with drugs. You selling her drugs. None of it is right, okay! But Rue is family and you’re my friend. So I’m not going anywhere,” you shouted then just fell back into the couch crossing your arms over your chest.
Fez just watched you from his place on the couch. Anger and annoyance evident on your face. The situation sucked, but Fez didn’t want to lose you. He was worried if Rue overdosed again, not only would he lose a sister, but you would never forgive him. Regardless of how much you told him it wasn’t his fault she was on drugs, he was the supplier. But, if you wanted to keep being friends with him, who was he to tell you no.
“Aight, ma,” Fez drawled out in his usual tone.
“Aight what,” you asked for clarification.
“You’re right... and stubborn,” Fez said, trying to stifle a laugh.
You eyed him cautiously. “Elaborate.”
Fez stayed sitting forward, but turned his head turned towards you and let it fall back on the couch. “Rue’s gonna find a way to do drugs whether or not I give them to her. She was on them before she met me.”
You uncrossed your arms resting them in your lap as you sighed feeling sorry about your cousin. You hated the mess she got in and wished for nothing more than her sobriety. While you were thinking about Rue, Fez’s hand grabbed your forearm then slid down to your hand, pulling it so it was on the empty cushion space between you two, so he could hold it.
“And you’re right about us being friends,” Fez continued. You bit your lip trying to stop your grin from getting too big, and Fez returned a small smile.
After that day, you had seen less of Fez than you usually had in the summer. It was your senior year, so you were busy trying to keep your grades up while staying active in your clubs. You explained your schedule to Fez so he didn’t trip at the fact that he was seeing less of you.
Things between you and Rue were strained. After you talked to Fez, you talked to your cousin and told her if she kept doing drugs you weren’t going to stick around and watch her kill herself. You were no longer holding any sympathy for what she was going through. Your Aunt Leslie and Gia managed to keep living without having their grief hold them back, why couldn’t Rue at least try? But Rue became spiteful, not caring that you were cutting yourself off from her.
You missed how things were in the summer. No stress. Rue was in rehab so you knew she was safe. Spending afternoons at Fez’s store. Missing Fez was how you found yourself at an East Highland party. One of your friends brought it up and you were quick to agree to the outing. You knew he would be dealing at the party, and that was more than enough of a reason to go.
Tumblr media
“Hey,” Rue said plopping down on the couch by Fez.
“What’s up, kid?”
“What’s going on with you and my cousin,” Rue asked, cutting straight to the chase. She was never one to beat around the bush.
“Whatchu mean,” Fez asked.
“Y/N doesn’t do parties. Especially not East Highland parties. And I know she’s not here for me.”
“Shit, she might be here for you,” Fez replied nonchalantly but he was hoping you were here for him. He missed seeing you on a regular basis.
“Nah, she’s not even talking to me right now. Cut me off cause I won’t stop using. Trying to teach me a lesson or some shit,” Rue said while she rolled her eyes. “So much for family.”
“Don’t say that shit, Rue.” Fez was getting agitated, because he knew how much you cared for her. “That girl loves you. She just wants you to do better.”
“If she loved me, she wouldn’t leave,” Rue argued, her shoulders tensing up.
“Nah, kid. That’s not how love works. She just doesn’t want to sit around and watch you kill yo’self.”
Rue sat there stunned, your words replaying in her head. “That’s exactly what Y/N told me... how much have you two been hanging out?”
Fez just shook his head as he took his blunt from behind his ear and lit it. “She misses you. Talk to her, Rue.”
You had been at the party for about an hour now. Attempting to play it cool as if Fez wasn’t the sole reason for you being there, you were trying to wait before you went and actually spoke to him. You noticed him a few minutes after you arrived. The two of you made eye contact and waved, but that was it.
Finally managing to leave your friends, you were making your way to Fezco when Rue stepped in front of you.
“Oh sor- hey Rue.”
“Hey, cuz,” Rue said. She looked... nervous. She was fidgeting with her jacket’s hood strings. Her eyes looking practically everywhere else but at you. “Um, can we talk for a sec?”
You looked past her to see Fez still sitting on the couch. Some guy coming up to him to make a deal. “Uh, yeah. Of course. Let’s step outside.”
Rue nodded, then you both made your way to the front door. There was too much going on in the backyard to have a private conversation there. You opened the door and let Rue step out into the cool night air first.
You leaned against one of the front porch beams while Rue just stood there awkwardly and shoved her hands into her jacket pockets.
The silence between you two was awkward which was a first. You tried to wait for Rue to speak, but she struggled to find the words.
“What’s up, Rue?”
“Umm, I just- I,” Rue stammered out while she fidgeted in her spot. “Shit, I’m sorry, Y/N. We’ve never not talked to each other like this and I hate it. I miss you.”
You sighed, sorrow filling your eyes. “I miss you, too, cousin.”
Rue’s eyes glossed over as she started to smile. “Uh, I haven’t been using as much anymore.”
You reached out and placed your hand on her wrist for a moment. “That’s great.”
Rue nodded, her eyes dogging around. “Yeah... I met someone.”
“Oh,” you replied, your eyebrows rising up in surprise. You were thrilled Rue was using less, but you knew if her sobriety was because of a person, it wouldn’t last long. “Do I know them?”
“No, she’s new. Her name is Jules.”
“Jules,” you repeated, making sure you pronounced it right.
Rue nodded, her smile growing bigger. “Yeah, she’s here tonight. Pretty blonde in the bright pink mini skirt.”
“You look happy.”
She ran her fingers through her curls, pushing her hair back. “I’m working on it.”
It was quiet for a moment as you looked down at your cousin. “Hey, Rue.”
“Yeah?”
“I know we haven’t been talking, but... you know I’m here if you need me.” You placed your hand on her shoulder and squeezed.
“I know,” Rue said nodding. Then you placed your other hand on her shoulder and pulled her in for a hug. Since you were on the step above her, you towered over her in the hug so you sat your chin on her head.
“Okay... you can let go now, Y/N,” Rue said after you were holding onto her a little too long.
“No, gotta make up for lost time,” you said, hugging her tighter.
“It wasn’t that much time.”
“It felt like forever,” you said dragging out the r then placing a bunch of kisses on Rue’s head.
“Ew, okay okay, I get it,” Rue said squirming in your arms. “Why don’t you go and kiss Fez?”
You stopped abruptly, pulling back slightly to look down at Rue. “Why would you say that? Did he... did he say something to you?”
Rue gently pushed herself out of your arms. “No, but it’s obvious something is happening between you two.”
“What,” you asked shaking your head, nervously running your hand over your hair. “Nothing’s happening. We’re just friends.”
“Yeah, friends who wanna fuck,” Rue replied. She was always the blunt one in the family.
“Rue!”
“Am I wrong,” she asked, her eyes on you.
“Uhh-I mean...”
“Un huh. Just tell him how you feel,” Rue said as she started to make her way back into the party.
“You say that like it’s so easy.”
Rue turned around so she was walking backwards now. “It is when the other person likes you back.” Then she turned back around and you lost sight of her in the sea of people.
“But...,” you shouted then began to whisper since you no longer saw her, “how do you know he likes me?”
Now you were nervous. You weren’t really one to flirt, at least not on purpose anyway. It was one thing to act normal around Fez and pretend you didn’t have a huge crush on him, it was another for someone to tell you he liked you and pretend to be normal. What if Rue was wrong? What if whatever sign she was getting from Fezco, was just him being a good friend, and not him being interested in you?
You made your way back into the party, but completely passed by the living room and went straight for the bathroom. Surprisingly, there wasn’t a line so you went right in. You locked the door then went to the mirror to look at yourself. Everything was still in place. Your lipstick was perfect. Your hair styled the way you liked it. Now, if only you could get that look of fear off your face.
“Breath, Y/N,” you said to yourself. You took a long exhale then inhaled. “Rue wouldn’t lie to you... well, maybe about drugs but not about this. And it’s Fez. Just put out some feelers to see where his head is at.” You nodded at yourself then turned the faucet on to splash a little water on yourself. Then your eyes grew wide as you thought, looking at yourself in the mirror again. “But what if he’s just being nice? IT’S FEZ! He’d never intentionally be mean to me. So how will I know if he’s only being polite and not actually flirting with me. Ughh!”
You dried your hand on a nearby towel then turned away from the mirror. You took some deep breaths to try and shake off the nervous feeling growing in the pit of your stomach. “Okay. It’s fine. You’re fine.” You thought about every time you hung out with Fez over the summer. Going to his house for the first time. Him giving you candy for free at the store. Him holding your hand on his couch. Fez was a good friend and you didn’t want to lose that, but you couldn’t keep holding your feelings for the ginger in.
“Hey Y/N,” Fezco said once you stopped in front of him. A small smile growing on his lips. Somehow his eyes managed to shimmer in the crappy living room lighting.
“Uh can you give me a ride home? I don’t feel so hot and I can’t find my friends.”
Technically it wasn’t a lie. You didn’t feel great. Your anxiety about asking Fez how he felt about you made you sick to your stomach.
“Sure thing, ma,” Fez replied, getting up from the couch without a second thought. Add that to the list of reasons you liked Fez. He would drop everything for you. The party wasn’t done so there was still money to be made, yet here he was, walking you out the party to his car.
The ride was quiet and awkward which was unusual. You only felt awkward around Fez when you had to bring up Rue’s drug addiction. Glancing over at Fez, he was oblivious to the worry that was going on in your head. His eyes focused on the dark road ahead as he nodded along to the music. The streetlights highlighting his freckles as you drove through the neighborhood.
“Do you like me,” you asked, interrupting Fez.
Fez’s eyes left the road for a moment confused at your sudden change in the conversation. He readjusted himself in his spot before he spoke. “Yeah, course I like you. Wouldn’t be giving you a ride home if I didn’t.”
You shook your head annoyed. “No, Fez. I mean do you like like me? Like if we were in middle school and you found a note in your locker that said ‘do you like me? Yes or no.’ Which one would you circle?”
“Oh.”
Oh. OH! What did he mean by oh. Your brain was running a mile a minute now. Fez better say something else and quick.
After what felt like forever, but was only about 5 seconds. “Yeah... thought it was obvious I was feelin’ you.”
You let out a breathy laugh in disbelief. “Obvious?”
“Yeah, I mean I thought you was real cute that first day you came in the store grillin’ me about what I was sellin’ Rue.” Fez chuckled to himself remembering that day.
“You thought I was cute,” you asked baffled. This was all so confusing for you.
Fez shook his head, eyes still focused on the road. “You gonna just keep repeating everything I’m sayin?”
“Uhh, yeah,” you replied, your eyes wide trying to prosses what he was saying to you. “It doesn’t make sense and you’re being so nonchalant about this.”
“How am I supposed to be?”
“I don’t know,” you answered, your hands flailing around. “Not like this! Just a minute ago I was freaking out wondering if I would ruin our friendship, or if there was even the slightest chance you liked me back... and you do. My brain can’t comprehend.”
Fezco put his car in park and you realized you were in front of you house. “Well, comprehend, ma.”
You slouched back in your seat staring out at the road ahead of you taking it all in. Rue was right. “What do we do now?”
Fez reached over the center console and grabbed your hand, intertwining your fingers. “Well, we could start with a date?”
You turned at looked at Fez, biting your lip to stop your smile from getting too big. “I’d like that,” you said, nodding your head.
“Cool,” Fez said smiling.
“Cool,” you repeated grinning right back.
The two of you sat in silence for a moment, just staring at one another.
“You know what. I’m feeling way better now.”
“Really?”
“Yeah... don’t think I’m quite ready to go inside yet.”
“You got something in mind?”
“Not really,” you said, pausing to think for a second. “Just not ready to leave you yet,” you replied, squeezing his hand a little while rubbing your thumb back and forth on the back of his hand.
Fezco’s checks got incredibly hotter as he looked away from you avoiding your eyes. He let go of your hand and put his car back in drive beginning to drive off then said, "I think I know a place."

you may not know right where you’re going but i do, i do, i do. and all the times you wasn’t chosen, well i’ll make it up to you.
your pov!
you were sad, your boyfriends dad was dead. you tried texting him and calling him but to no avail, he never responded. you weren’t upset, when your grandma passed you did the same thing to miles. mr. morales was kinda like your dad in a way seeing as thought you never really had one. he drove you to school, bought you food. you thought about that one time you both had a heart to heart conversation. he had comforted you at the funeral, you teared up thinking about it. you opened miles text to see a thread of blue messages, multiple im sorry texts and good morning/night ones. you move your fingers to text him again, stopping when you realized he wasn’t gonna answer . so you got up and got ready, he needed you, so you were gonna be there. you drove all the way there just to hesitate knocking, you didn’t know why you were afraid . right before you knocked the door opened, it was mrs. morales . “oh, hello mija.” he said with a sadness that brought her tone down. you looked at her face, it was dark and the slightly purple bags under her eyes seemed to pull the rest of her face down you stared for a bit before pulling her into a big hug . you mumbled “i’m so sorry. i can’t even imagine.” she sighed at your words and just hummed “i’ll be okay, i don’t know about miles though. he hasn’t left his room since. please check on him.” she said as she pulled away from the hug keeping her hands on your shoulders, you have her a reassuring smile, “okay mrs. morales.” your eyes widened as it slipped out and she looked down. fuck. could you call her that still? she just smiled and squeezed your shoulders “im going to the store, keep my mind occupied. i’ll be back soon.” she said walking away and you looked into the house for a little walking in as if you were being drawn to miles room.
all of the feelings you’re not showing, when your rivers overflowing.
you knocked on the door, when you heard no response you opened it, revealing the look of miles lying on his bed low eyed and eye bags forming, the smell of grief and pain filled the room. the person that made the world bright was so dark now, your heart pang with guilt, why couldn’t you take this away from him ? his eyes looked at the door, when he saw you he sat up but didn’t say anything his eyes filling up with tears again just at the sight of you
“i’m sorry baby.. i’m so sorry.” you said with the softest voice you could muster up. “don’t apologize, not your fault.” his low voice croaked out, you can tell it was his first time saying anything in a while. “can i s-“. “please.” his unusually low voice interrupted you, you took your stuff off and sat on the bed. “have you eaten, or showered?” you ask miles as you turn your head to hold his hand, his silence is your answer so you get up and hold out your other hand to him, “come on, you need eat and shower.” he looked at your hand then back at you, before slowly getting up to follow you. as you stood in the shower with him, the water running on both of you as you washed his back you could hear him sighing deeply and see his back falling up and down with a faster pace than before. he was crying. you tap his shoulder and he turns around, the water from the shower hiding his tears. he pulls you in for a tight hug, like it he let go would you leave too. “thank you, i love you so much.” he softly said and you just smiled “i love you miles.”
it’s the truth, swear to you. i do i do i do i do, i do. and all that you are i do.
seeing miles so down reminded you of when you were like this, broken and in desperate need of love and miles gave it to you, the least you could do was make sure he was straight. you took out his braids and washed his hair and rio must’ve came back in the house because you could smell food cooking. “have you talked to her?” you said putting on some clothes. “no, i-i don’t know how.” “you should, you have to. if it’s one thing i know it’s that you need each other right now.” he looked out his door to see his mother with her back turned to the stove. he sighed and called out to her “mami?” he said walking up behind her and she turned to him, they hugged and you smiled at the scene. you retrieved the things you needed to do miles hair, you knew he didn’t want any braids now so you were just gonna detangle and blow dry it . miles sits on a pillow on the floor between your legs as you do his hair, rio setting down 2 plates of food for you and miles as she sits down placing the one for herself on the couch arm beside her. all three of you sit there watching whatever movie was playing, comfortable silence settled upon the three of you. after miles ate he fell asleep, just as you finished and were about to wake him up you look over your shoulder to see mrs.morales asleep too. you got up to clean up, tip toeing to not step on any cracks. you put up the food and washed the dishes making sure all the doors were locked and lights turned off. you returned to the couch and tapped mrs morales arm waking her softly. “let’s get you to your bed.” you said quietly helping her up being careful not to wake miles or fully wake mrs. morales you led her to her room and she got in falling back asleep, as you were about to leave “thank you, (name)” she said sleepily and you smiled twisting the handle to open the door “of course.” you said closing her door softly and walking back to see nobody there.
my single line of stars in noon, reflection of the very moon i do, i do i do i do.
you walk into miles room seeing him sitting up on his bed, shirt off and head in his hands. “does it get easier ?” he asks with a tone that suggest he’s afraid. your face softens and you kiss your teeth thinking about your own grief “yea i think so. the worst thing that could’ve happened already happened, the only thing you can do now is grow. it doesn’t get smaller, but you do grow bigger than it.” you say sitting down beside him rubbing his back, he lets out a breath and looks into your eyes “im so thankful for you, i really need you (name).” you softly kiss his lips then cup his face to kiss his forehead. you get into the bed and he lays on top of you rubbing his face in your neck “i love you.” he says again quieter than before and you frown at feeling his tears run down your neck “i love you too, and i’ll be here. the whole way. always.”
can i show my love for you?

Doppelgänger
Benny Weir x Fem!Reader
MBAV Masterlist
Warning(s): near-death, canon-level violence
Request: can be found here.
Notes: This is a mix of multiple things that we’ve seen in MBAV episodes while also stealing a little bit of plot from the Vampire Diaries. Hope you like it!
PS: I kinda want to make this into a full fledged fic because I had so many ideas that were hard to package into a one-shot but we’ll see if I ever actually do that.
Summary: A doppelganger traps you in a mirror dimension and slowly sucks the life out of you so it can take your place. Will Benny and friends save you in time? (yes obviously, but the suspense)
Tumblr media
You stare across the room, into the only window in the otherwise dark room, the yellow glow of it staring back at you.
It was a tragic way to die, in a place without light, where your loved ones would never find you. All the while a cheap copy of you wandered freely, fooling your friends and your Benny.
Benny. Would you ever get to see him again?
Perhaps you’d get lucky and he would peer into the mirror so his eyes would be the last thing you saw before the life finished draining from you.
He’d probably feel so guilty, think it was all his fault.
But it wasn’t.
If there was anyone to blame, it was the vampire who seemed a regular bane to the existence of White Chapel and its inhabitants.
Let’s start from the beginning, shall we?
In the school’s theater, in a dressing room we’ve seen before, lies a cracked mirror that once held the spirit of Olivia Frye. And while her spirit no longer posses it, that doesn’t mean the magic of the mirror is gone.
The vanity lights flicker on in the otherwise dark room, illuminating the pale face and blue eyes of Jesse Black.
Reaching into his pocket, Jesse pulls out Benny’s spellbook.
He opens it on a marked page, running his fingers across the paper before reading aloud: “Zacaroth Maznacaroth. Dimitte hunc spiritum e carcere, ut iterum vivant.”
As he reads, the mirror begins to repair itself, the cracks sealing up. But as they are doing so, a mist also starts to leak from the glass.
A grin spreads across Jesse’s lips and he chuckles darkly. “Welcome back, my dear.”
Before him stands the ghostly figure of who appears to be you, but she’s faded, missing the color in her body that signifies life. Except for her eyes that shine the same unnatural blue as Jesse’s.
The following morning, you, Ethan, and Benny are walking down the hallway of White Chapel High as Benny searches in vain for his spellbook.
“Are you sure you didn’t accidentally make it vanish again?” Ethan asks.
“No, it was in here last night I swear,” Benny says before groaning and angrily throwing his bag closed. “The one day I wanted to make Ms. Fine forget about our essays and the thing disappears! It’s like it knows when I’m using it for evil. You think my grandma put a spell on it?”
“If she was gonna do that, she’d have done it long before now,” Ethan replies.
“You know, if you started memorizing your spells like you talk about, this wouldn’t be a problem,” You say.
“And if you had agreed to strip studying I would have tried,”
“Okay, gross,” Ethan says, pulling a face.
“Y/N.”
You perk your head up, looking around the hallway for whoever said your name, finding no one in a sea of faces.
“Y/N.”
You turn around, following the voice but still seeing no one.
“Hey.”
You jump as Benny’s hand touches your shoulder.
“Are you okay?”
You let out a breath and smile at him. “Yeah, I just thought I heard someone call my name. It’s probably nothing.”
Benny nods and pulls you closer to him, his arm wrapping around your shoulder as you continue your trail to your lockers.
The voices persisted as the day went on, bothering you in class and at lunch, making you feel scared and crazy. Not to mention incredibly distracted.
It made it hard to focus on math or science and especially English where you were meant to be reading Shakespeare and reviewing essays.
“Ms. L/N.”
Ms. Fine startles you out of your stupor and you hurriedly hand her your rough draft, printed and stapled together.
“Are you feeling alright?” She asks and you make a quick decision.
“Actually, I’m feeling a little sick. Can I be excused for the nurses office?”
“Sure. But hurry back.”
You nod and gather your things, exchanging a glance with Benny and Ethan each before leaving.
You really did plan to go to the nurses office until you could talk to your friends, but that damn voice started bothering you again. And in an otherwise empty hallway, it was hard to ignore.
“Y/N.”
“Oh, I’m gonna regret this,” you mumble before heading in the direction of the voice.
You follow it all the way to the theater, which is dark except for the light coming from one of the dressing rooms.
“Please don’t be a ghost,” you whisper to yourself. “Or a vampire, werewolf, ghoul, zombie, whatever. Let me be having a psychotic break because of stress and this voice isn’t real.”
You cautiously peak into the room...and find nothing.
The room is empty except for the vanity and chair. And the voice has gone quiet.
Shaking your head, you walk into the room and sit down in the chair. “Maybe I am going crazy.”
Your a little startled by your reflection, which is pale even under the warm lighting.
“...or maybe I’m actually sick.”
You press a hand to your face, checking for a temperature, watching as your reflection does the same.
Letting your hand drop, you observe the mirror more closely, eyebrows furrowing together.
“Wait a minute, wasn’t this mirror-”
You let out a scream as your reflection surges forward and pulls you into the mirror before jumping out in your place.
You collapse on a cold floor, hurriedly standing back up and rushing toward the mirror’s opening but your reflection holds out a hand, causing the mirror to seal back up and trap you inside.
“Sorry,” she says. “But I can’t have two of us running around to ruin my plans.”
You bang on the glass. “Hey! Stop! Let me out!”
But she’s already gone, leaving the room and shutting the door, enveloping you in darkness.
“Didn’t you see the look on her face?” Benny asks. “Something’s wrong.”
“I’m sure she’s fine,” Ethan replies. “It’s probably just a headache. You know how too much supernatural stuff gets to her sometimes.”
“Yeah, but this was different. She’s been hearing voices all day. I’m starting to worry this is something bad.”
Benny pushes open the door to the nurse’s office, expecting to find you laying there but instead the small bed was empty.
“Can I help you boys?” The nurse asks from her desk.
“Uh, sorry, but did Y/N L/N come in here earlier?”
“No, I haven’t seen her in here today.”
Benny feels a pit in his stomach. “Right, thank you.”
He closes the door and exchanges a look with Ethan. “She didn’t come back to class and she didn’t come here. So where is she?”
Ethan looks a little more worried now. “I don’t know.”
“Oh, hey, Y/N,” Rory says.
Not-you turns to look at him and Rory is taken aback.
“You okay? You’re paler than usual. Did you get bitten by a vampire? Attacked by an abominable snowman? Possessed by a ghost?”
Not-you smiles. “Oh, no, I’m actually an ancient doppelgänger who just looks like Y/N.”
Rory’s eye go wide. “Woah, really? That’s so cool. But...why’re you telling me?”
Not-you pats him on the head. “Cause you’re not smart enough to try and stop me.”
“Oh. Yeah that’s fair. Where’re you off to anyway?”
Not-you hums. “I’m smart enough not to tell you that.”
“Oh, great,” you mumble, watching as your battery drops another percentage, but the bars never move from zero.
How are you supposed to call for help?
It’s chilling, sitting in the dark with nothing but your phone for light. Your eyes can’t even adjust to the darkness because there’s nothing to see; you’re in a void.
A headache is slowly making itself known and you can’t be sure if its from staring at your phone screen or because a doppelgänger trapped you in a mirror.
The supernatural always has a way of giving you a headache. Doesn’t matter what it is.
Ethan can hardly touch you because if he has a vision, you’ll have a migraine for the rest of the week. If Erica, Sarah, or Rory use their superspeed around you, you’ll nearly faint.
Benny’s the only one who can use his powers and not effect you. You aren’t sure why.
He likes to joke that it’s because your soulmates.
“I don’t know, E, I just have a bad feeling about this,” Benny says. “Sarah! Have you seen Y/N?”
Sarah, who was just putting her bag on her shoulder at her locker, turns to the boys. “No, is she missing?”
“Yeah we haven’t seen her since English and Benny’s freaking out,” Ethan replies.
“Aw, does Benny miss his girlfriend?”
“No, I mean yes, but that’s not what I’m worried about. She’s been hearing voices all day, what if something spooky got her?”
Sarah smiled. “Benny, if something spooky was happening we would surely know by now. Ethan would’ve had a vision or Rory would pop in with some information he doesn’t realize is important.”
As if on cue, Rory appears. “Heard my name!”
“Perfect,” Benny says. “Okay, Rory, give us some of that sweet sweet information. Have you seen Y/N?”
Rory’s eyebrows furrow. “Well, yeah, but she said it wasn’t really her. She said she was an ancient doppelgänger who just looks like Y/N.”
Benny gestures wildly. “You guys concerned now?!”
“Okay, yeah, maybe,” Ethan replies. “Did she say what she was doing or where she was going?”
Rory shakes his head. “No, she said she was too smart to tell me.”
“Curses,” Benny says. “They’re starting to figure out our tricks. Come on, I need to find my spellbook to track her.”
Ethan, Benny, and Sarah hurry off, leaving Rory behind.
“You’re welcome,” he says, miffed that they disregarded him.
“Ah, nice to see you in the flesh again,” Jesse says, tossing some popcorn in his mouth.
“I see you’re still fond of the theater where your plans were ruined,” Not-you replies, eyeing the room.
“I’m a sentimental guy,” he says. “And with you, my plans can’t be ruined again.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that. My doppelgänger might be a mortal but she has the same power I do, under the surface.”
“Don’t tell me your afraid?”
“Not afraid. Just cautious,” Not-you says. “Arrogance is what got you defeated the first time. I won’t make the same mistake of underestimating them.”
Jesse stands up and walks over to Not-you, grabbing her arm. “Starting to get some flesh back, I see.”
“Swapping places with Y/N has helped immensely. Give it a few more hours and I’ll be back to full strength.”
“And Y/N?”
“Collateral damage.”
Jesse smiles. “Then we don’t need to underestimate them. We can destroy them.”
Meanwhile, Benny, Ethan, and Sarah are tearing apart Benny’s room, trying to find his spellbook.
“Goodness me, what’s going on in here?”
“Grandma!” Benny exclaims, popping out from under his bed. “Have you seen my spellbook?”
“No. Don’t tell me you’ve lost it, Benny, you know how dangerous that is,” she replies.
“I know, I know, but lecture me later, we have to find Y/N.”
“Y/N is missing?”
“Yeah,” Sarah says. “She was switched with a doppelgänger.”
Evelyn purses her lips. “Circe.”
“Who?” Ethan asks.
“Circe,” Evelyn repeats. “She’s an old witch who caused quite the ruckus in White Chapel. Reverend Black tried to have her burnt at the stake but considering that he turned out to be a vampire I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s resurrected her somehow.”
Benny gasps. “With my spellbook!”
“Follow me,” Evelyn says, leading the group of them to her basement where she digs through a box for a leather bound book.
“Ah!” She says. “Here it is.”
She flips it open, going through the pages before stopping on one. “Here she is.”
“Woah,” Ethan says. “She really does look like Y/N.”
“Doppelgängers were created by nature after ancient beings defied their laws by creating immortality. Circe must’ve tried to make herself immortal, causing the doppel curse,” Evelyn explains.
You’re starting to feel horrible. Your body getting heavier and heavier, a weight on your chest growing.
It wasn’t like the usual anxiety or claustrophobia you’ve experienced before. No, this felt like your soul was slowly being sucked from your body.
Is this it? you think. Is this really how I’m going to go out?
You raise your phone, the bars still empty and the battery too low for comfort.
“God,” you mumble.
Jesse pulls the Cubile Animus from his pocket. “This is what we’ll use to capture the souls.”
Circe raises an eyebrow at him. “Is that thing going to be able to hold all the supernatural souls? They’re more powerful than human souls.”
“Well, if you happen to have another soul-holder laying around, you just let me know,” Jesse says, scowling at her.
“I’m just saying, maybe you should’ve done some research before you set this plan into motion.”
“It’s going to work.” Jesse snaps, getting into Circe’s face.
“All right, if you say so,” she replies, lifting a magical hand, glowing gold, and pressing it against the box.
You gasp, feeling a sudden rush of adrenaline and your eyes flicker a gold that makes its way down your face, arms, and into your phone, causing it to call Benny.
“If Circe has taken Y/N’s place you need to find her fast. The longer Circe stays in her place, the more of Y/N’s lifeforce she takes,” Evelyn says. “She could die.”
As if on cue, Benny’s phone rings.
He scrambles to check it, Y/N’s name glowing on the screen. “Oh my god.”
He answers it. “Y/N? Where are you, baby?”
“Benny...” your voice is faint and quiet. “...mirror...”
“Mirror? I don’t know what that means, you’re gonna have to be more specific.”
The urgency in his voice is obvious and you’re trying your best.
“At- at school...the mirror...”
“A mirror at school? The mirror at school?”
“Olivia Frye’s mirror!” Ethan says with a snap of his fingers. “In the theater.”
“Y/N, babe, is that right? You’re in Olivia’s mirror?”
“..yes.”
“Great, let’s go,” Sarah says.
“Be careful!” Evelyn replies as they go.
“Y/N, stay on the phone with me, okay?”
You groan. “Benny, I’m so tired...”
They throw themselves into Grandma’s car, Sarah driving.
"No, no, baby girl, stay awake for me,” Benny pleads, hearing your breathing become labored.
“Benny...” you whisper out one last time before the phone goes dead.
“Y/N? Y/N! Y/N, baby, please- god dang it!” Benny throws his phone down.
“It’s okay, Benny, we’ll find her,” Ethan says. “She’s gonna be fine.”
“I hope so, E, I really hope so.”
"Do it now,” Jesse demands.
Circe’s eyes glow gold and she whispers an incantation.
Meanwhile, Erica and Rory are out looking for a midnight snack.
“Are you sure we should be out here?” Rory asks. “Sarah said there’s a powerful witch out here somewhere. And that she’s working with Jesse.”
“What’s Jesse got against us?” Erica replies. “If anything he should be thanking us for being his only turns that survived. Natural selection in my opinion.”
Suddenly, her body goes rigid and a glowing, white mist flows out of her mouth and shoots off. Her body collapses to the ground.
“Erica?” Rory asks, nervously, leaning down next to her.
Erica’s soul finds its way into the Cubile Animus and Jesse smiles.
Rory’s body follows ensuite of Erica’s, going still and his soul being taken from his body.
And now we’re caught up. You’re dying in unimaginable darkness, weeping. Wishing with all your might that they find you. That you’ll see your friends and Benny again.
Luckily for you, they burst through the door.
Ethan, Benny, and Sarah are to the mirror in no time, Benny’s hand pressing against the glass.
“Y/N! Come take my hand, please!”
“I-I can’t,” you cry, tears rolling down your cheeks as you look at him, his eyes worried, scared even.
“Yes, you can!” He replies. “I won’t let you die! You’re so close, Y/N, just come take my hand.”
It’s hard, and it hurts, but you move.
You crawl, sobbing, towards him.
Benny’s own tears are threatening to spill over as he listens to you crying.
“Please,” he whispers. “Please, I love you.”
You reach up. And take his hand.
Feeling your grip, Benny pulls.
Your body comes tumbling out of the mirror and into Benny, who immediately hold you close, whispering “oh my god” over and over.
You’re shaking, still crying. You’re thin, pale, and weak.
“Y/N,” Sarah says softly. “Do you know where the doppelganger is?”
You close your eyes, focusing. “The theater,” you whisper. “They’re at the theater.”
More souls are being sucked into the box: Kurt Lockner’s, David Stachowski’s, all the vampire nurses.
Evelyn, knowing - or rather feeling -  what’s happening, sits in her rocking chair and mumbles a counter spell that will keep her soul inside her body.
Circe growls. “Let go, Evelyn. I’ll get your soul if it kills you.”
“Not a chance.” Evelyn replies.
Sarah hits the breaks hard, putting the car in park and jumping out of the car, Ethan following closely.
“Y/N, stay here, okay?” Benny instructs.
You nod, closing your eyes and lying down.
“Hey!” Sarah kicks open the door to the theater. “Having a party without me?”
“Sarah!” Jesse says. “Glad you can join us. Just in time for Circe to take your soul.”
“Oh yeah? Over my dead body.”
“That can be arranged,” Circe replies, turning to Sarah with glowing gold eyes.
It strikes her then how nearly exactly she looks to you.
“So your the witch who’s stealing my girlfriend’s soul!” Benny shouts.
Circe smiles. “I’m a much better model, don’t you think?”
“Not a chance, honey.”
“Jesse, I’m busy. Take care of them, won’t you?” Circe says. “Your grandmother can’t hold on forever, Benny.”
“What?” Benny cries, becoming angry. He shouts a spell, hurling it in Circe’s direction, who waves it off easily.
“You’ll have to do better than that.”
“Come on, Sarah,” Jesse says. “We’ve been here before, haven’t we? What makes you think you’ll win this time?”
“This!” Ethan yells, shooting Jesse in the face with holy water.
Jesse screams.
“Literally never go anywhere without this. We’re smarter this time, don’t you know?”
“I don’t think you nerds have the capacity,” Jesse says, wiping the burning liquid off his face with his sleeve.
Sarah attacks him and Ethan gasps, being overcome with a vision. It’s a vision of Benny’s grandma and Jane chanting the same words she used to defeat Jesse the first time.
When he comes back to, he shouts, “Benny! Your grandma’s spell! The first one!”
The pieces clicking in his head, Benny chants those same words and watches as a bolt of lighting appears and hits Circe in the chest. She cries out, dropping the box that Benny scoops up.
“Hey, Jesse,” Benny says.
Jesse stops, Sarah’s neck in his hand, and looks at Benny.
“This look familiar?”
He opens the box, releasing the souls inside.
Jesse screams, dropping Sarah and running off.
“You coward!” Circe yells. “Coward! AH!”
The souls attack Circe, slowly pulling Y/N’s soul out of her body.
Once it’s out, Circe drops to the ground and fades away in a fog.
Breathing heavily, the three left watch as Y/N’s soul shoots off, presumably back to Y/N’s body.
“We really need to destroy this thing,” Benny says, tossing the box in the air and catching it again.
Erica and Rory burst through the doors, fangs bared, ready for a fight.
“Aw, man, did we miss it again?” Rory asks.
“Yeah, sorry, Ror,” Ethan replies.
“Ugh. I’ve been waiting to tear Jesse a new one for like, ever,” Erica says.
“Oh, I’m sure you’ll get your chance,” Sarah says.
“Oh my god, Y/N,” Benny says, shoving the box into Ethan’s hands and running out to the car, the others following.
You’re still sleeping, and breathing, thankfully. But your color isn’t back to normal, neither is your weight.
So, they take you to Evelyn.
“Her body isn’t used to magic,” she explains as Erica and Sarah set you gently onto Benny’s bed. “It’s going to take a while for her to naturally heal. But, if a few powerful magicians were to try to speed things along...”
“We can do that?” Benny asks, hopefully.
Evelyn grabs his shoulders. “We can try.”
They hold hands over your body, shutting their eyes and chanting “Extende in desiderium cordis mei; Sana hoc vulnus cum virtute ignis. Aufer aegritudinem et dolorem; Sanatio est quod offero.”
Your body glows, color coming back to you and your weight returning to its normal size, but you don’t wake up.
“Did it work?” Benny asks. “Why is she still asleep?”
“Even healing magic takes time,” Evelyn explains. “Give her a little bit.”
She pats him lightly and leaves the room, leaving Benny alone with you.
“God, I really thought I was going to lose you,” he whispers, squeezing your hand.
The time stretches on as he waits for you to wake up and he eventually nods off.
Which is when you decide to wake up.
You smile as you see him lying next to you and lean over to kiss his cheek.
He shoots awake immediately, practically tackling you in a hug. “Thank god!”
You laugh. “Thanks for saving me.”
“Always,” he replies. “Always.”

_
For the past week, life has been throwing you punches left and right.
On your way home from work one night, your car decided that in the middle of a thunderstorm would be the perfect time to break down. Luckily, your mechanic husband came to the rescue. Unluckily, he ordered chinese takeout for dinner to cheer you up, which led to you getting food poisoning.
You’ve had to call off of work for the past five days due to being ill. Somehow, Eddie must’ve skipped on the side dish of foodborne illness because he never ended up getting sick.
Eddie has been picking up a few extra shifts this week because you were so stressed about missing work and the effect that would have on your paycheck. Honestly, money hasn’t been much of an issue lately, but he insisted on working so his chance for a promotion would increase.
You’ve been an emotional wreck without him lately. Every time he leaves you feel like he’s going off to war and you have no idea when he’ll return. He thinks it’s adorable while you think you’re going insane. Sometimes throughout the day you’ll spray his cologne, even though the scent has been making you a bit queasy for some reason.
You haven’t been able to keep any food down, so you decided to give your mom a call and ask for her special soup recipe. She always made it when a friend or family member was sick and you swear it has healing powers.
“Hi, mom. it’s me” you say, voice hoarse from all the throwing up.
“Hi, sweetie. you sound awful, is everything okay?”
Tears immediately fill your eyes when she asks. Your period must be coming soon because your emotions have been all over the place.
“Not really. I’ve had food poisoning and I can’t keep anything down, so I just wanted the recipe for your soup”
“Oh, honey. Is Eddie there to make it for you?”
“N-no. he’s working like all the time recently because he’s up for a promotion and I just miss him so much that I think I'm losing my mind and I'm also starving but the thought of eating anything makes me want to puke '' you sob.
“y/n, are you pregnant?”
“what? no i’m not preg-” your voice drifts as realization hits you. You missed your period last month, but chalked it up to stress and this month is halfway over and you still haven’t gotten it.
“y/n? are you there?”
“y-yeah i’m here. I just, um, I think I need to sit down.”
“I’m coming over, honey. don’t worry everything will be okay”
In shock, you hang up the phone without saying another word. Could you really be pregnant? I mean, let’s be honest you and Eddie go at it like rabbits, so it shouldn’t be a surprise, but it is.
You and Eddie have discussed having kids on many occasions, but you both agreed to wait until the time was right. You wanted to move into a bigger house, nothing too fancy that you’d be paying off for the rest of your lives, but one big enough for your little rascals to run around. All you ever both wanted was a house filled with love and laughter, no matter how big or small.
_
After anxiously sitting in silence, your mom walks through the door with handfuls of grocery bags and she looks just about as frazzled as you do.
“yep. you’re pregnant.” is the first thing she says and you groan. “how do you know? Are you secretly psychic or something?”
“all mothers are psychic, you’ll find that out very soon. So, I bought all the fixins for my soup, three pregnancy tests, and a gallon of water. Drink up, i’ll start cooking”
You pour yourself a glass of water and chug until there isn’t a drop left in the cup.
“I can’t believe I’m gonna be a grandma! Between Eddie’s hair and your eyes, this baby is going to be beautiful.”
“Alright, I’ll go take the tests but please don’t get your hopes up”
In reality, you had your hopes up too. The thought of having a baby that was a mix of you and Eddie was the most amazing thing you could ever think of. You hoped they’d have his eyes, which if your kid is anything like their dad, they will use those big, brown eyes against you.
Maybe this hypothetical baby will even have a passion for music and Eddie can teach them how to play guitar. You can see it now. Your baby wouldn’t even be a year old before Eddie tried to form a family band.
“Don’t look at the first test until you take the other two!” your mother shouts as you disappear into the bathroom.
You take a deep breath to calm yourself after you're done and the anticipation is killing you. This plastic stick is holding the answer to your future and you still had two more to take before you could find out.
_
Almost a gallon of water and three pregnancy tests later, the pink sticks lay face down on the bathroom sink counter.
“Will you look for me? I can’t do it”
“Let’s do it together, okay? This is a wonderful experience” your mom squeezes your hand and you try to gather yourself.
On the count of three, you each pick one up and you gasp when you turn it around.
Two pink lines
Two. Pink. Lines
“It’s positive!” you shriek, anxiety replaced with glee. “Are they all positive?” you scan over all three and they show the same result.
You start to cry again, but this time it’s happy tears. Like the tears you cried when Eddie told you he loved you for the first time, then again when he got down on one knee, and also when he vowed to love you for the rest of his life no matter what, a promise he’s yet to break and you are confident he never will.
Your mom also begins to cry tears of joy while giving  a hug. She was right, this is a wonderful experience.
When the thought crossed your mind during the phone call earlier, you were horrified. Now, you realize there’s nothing to be scared of. You’re having a baby with the man you love more than anything.
“When are you going to tell him? I don’t know how long I can keep this in!” she exclaims
“I’m telling him tonight I don’t think I can wait longer than that. But, please don’t say anything to anyone until we’re ready”
“I won’t. Now, tell me how you’re gonna tell him!”
Once your mom left, you decided to make yourself more presentable and set up a nice dinner for when Eddie got home. He would be home any minute and you were oozing with excitement.
The table was set, soup was on the stove, and you had put the tests in a gift bag with some tissue paper.
You had no worries about Eddie reacting badly to this news and not only did that soothe your nerves, it also reaffirmed that being with him was the best decision you ever made.
You hear his vehicle pull into the driveway and you scurry over to the door, ready to greet him the second he walks in.
“Eddie!” you squeal, throwing your arms around his neck right when he comes inside. “hey, baby” he arms wrap around your waist and pulls you into him. “How are you feeling?” he pulls back slightly to put his hand on your forehead to check if you have a temperature.
“So much better now that you’re home” you nuzzle into him and bask in the feeling of his presence. “Sweetheart, you didn’t have to make dinner. you’re sick” he pouts and you can’t resist the urge to kiss him. He tastes like spearmint gum with a hint of the chapstick you force him to wear because his lips are too pretty to be chapped.
“My mom came over and made it, actually. she says hi, by the way” you lead him over to the couch and sit down. “Her special soup? fuck yeah” he says and you giggle at the enthusiasm.
“So, I was gonna wait until dinner but I have a present for you” you say, giddily. “A present for lil ol’ me? oh you didn’t have to, darlin’” he says in a fake southern accent. “Stay here, you goof”
You return to the living room, gift bag in hand and a big smile on your face. Eddie hasn’t seen your smile much since you got “food poisoning” and it’s the best present he can think of. For now, at least.
“Don’t just stare at me! Open it!” you excitedly demand as you stand in front of him where he’s sat on the couch.
“you’re just so goddamn pretty. i missed that smile” fuck, you love him so much. If you weren’t so nauseous and in anticipation for him to find out you're pregnant you’d take him to the bedroom and show him just how much you appreciate him.
“Eddie, I love you, but if you don’t open it right now I’ll make sure to never smile again” you threaten and try not to smile, but you can’t help it. After all these years, you still feel the same way you did on your first date with him. Absolutely lovesick.
“Jeez, no need for threats, Mrs. Munson” he teases and you playfully roll your eyes.
He tears through the tissue paper like it’s christmas morning and stops in his tracks once he looks in the bag.
“Is this?” He pulls out each test and stares intently at each one. “Are you?” He looks up at you with wide eyes and apparently he’s lost the ability to form a sentence. “yeah. we’re having a baby” and here come the waterworks again. Damn hormones.
His hand rests on your stomach and you cover his hand with your own. “Are you okay with that?” you whisper and he stands up, hand still on your belly. “I’m - fuck- I thought I’d be scared shitless when this day came, but I’m not. Are you okay with this?”
“I’m a little scared when I think of things like how we’re gonna have to move eventually and ya know, the whole childbirth part that’s probably gonna rip me to shreds, but I’m happy. Really happy”
“Me too and I think I’m gonna get that promotion to manager, which comes with a huge raise. We’ve been saving up for this since we got married, babe. We’re gonna be fine, okay?”
“I’m gonna get huge” you whine and he chuckles then presses a kiss to your forehead.
“I know. think about how big your tits are gonna get” he jokes. “Eddie! this is supposed to be sentimental!” you chide with a laugh. “But, seriously. Are you still gonna love me when I'm all swollen and grumpy? or when I make you get me ice cream at two in the morning?”
“First of all, you already make me get you ice cream at two in the morning. Second, you’re carrying our baby. If anything, I'm going to love you even more” he promises and pulls you into a loving hug.
“Is it okay that I’m somewhat terrified?” you ask, words a little muffled from your face being buried in his chest.
“I am too, but we’re in this together, yeah?” he assures you.
“yeah. together”

Not A Lie ~ Elvis Presley
Tumblr media
Summary: You could never imagine THE Elvis Presley to show up in your little diner. How can you tell your parents that…he’s your fiancé??
Note: IM BACK! I’m going to be graduating in February so I’m hoping I can get some writing out! I’m so sorry if this is a bad come back? I haven’t proofread yet! But I think it’s good 💙 missed you all so much!
Warnings: FLUFF!
“Y/N, you gotta stop lyin’! You know how much your daddy loves Elvis!” You huff out as you chase your mom around the kitchen island.
“Mama! Just listen to me! I’m being honest! I am enga-“ she put a finger to your lips as you both hear the front door unlock, opening to your daddy whistling a soft tune of Blue Suede Shoes.
“Not a word in front of him, got it?” You sigh loudly not wanting her to put you down.
“But mama! He’s comin’ ton-“ she cuts you off with an ice cold glare. You finally let it go, walking past your father to your room.
“God damn it all! Why won’t anyone ever listen to me?” The small phone in your room begins to ring, picking it up you sit on your bed. A certain southern drawl cheers you up.
“Hey there, lil’ lady. How’s my girl doin’? I’ll be there soon I promise. My parents are wantin’ us to get together and do some photos here at Graceland for the family album.” He chuckles while you heard his grandma in the back.
“Hi grandma! Um, pictures? Like engagement pictures?” You nervously hum, twirling the phone cord around your finger.
“Well, I did get you that pretty rock on your finger. And I think that means your stuck with lil’ old me, baby.” Your cheeks flush as he lowly whispers.
“I’ll see you soon. Lest your flirtin’ make my face flush!” His giggles are cut off as you hang up. Your face aglow. Your phone rings once again.
“Elvis Presley- if you don’t stop-“
“Elvis Presley?! I knew it!” Your best friend Amelia was on the other line….her screams of joy influence you to push the phone as far away from you as possible. You wince as she continues.
“Amelia Jones! You needa keep it down! What’ll you do if your mama says she won’t be gettin’ you into my mama’s salon this Thursday!” The other line dies down.
“You know your mamas the only one you can actually do my hair and make it look good!” You chuckle as she tries to explain herself.
“Yes! That’s why when I tell you the boy I’ve been datin’ all year and last year is Mr. Elvis Presley.” You state confidently as she squees softly.
“That’s why you wasn’t impressed when we saw him for the first time! You were kissin’ him!!!” Her giggles and squeals made you roll your eyes. Amelia was always into the whole romance and love at first sight tropes in the movies.
“Y/N! Get down here! Your mother and I need to have a talk with you!” You grumble and hope your mom hadn’t told your father about the whole engagement.
“Gotta go, Ames! Bye!” You hung up, smooth your skirt and make your way down the stairs.
“You know the policy we have on lyin’, young lady.” Your daddy was sitting on the couch with your mother.
“Daddy, I ain’t lyin’ to you! I really am-“ your mothers laugh breaks you off again.
“We are supposed to believe that Elvis Presley is coming tonight to meet us after askin for your hand?” She fans herself. Your mom usually was so supportive but you do have to hand it to her. This was kinda crazy.
“I ain’t! He’s really sweet! His mama and daddy are arranging a photo shoot for us to be in the Presley family album! I’m gonna be a Presley, daddy!”
“I wanna believe you but how did you even meet?”
“And will that be all for you today?” The man in front of you was clearly flirting as you wrote off his receipt.
“Uh actually this is gonna sound weird but are you an angel?” You rolled your eyes, waving your hand.
“Hm, I’ve actually never heard of that one but I am very aware thank you. Bye!” You spun around on your heel and grabbed a new pad and paper. You fixed your hair in the reflection of napkin holder.
“You handled that well, Darlin’.” You jump a little. The voice was low and oddly familiar. You turned with a flush to your cheeks.
“ yeah well creeps like that don’t like the word no so-“ you paused as you finally saw the person speaking to you.
“It’s a shame cause he ain’t wrong. But he forgot to say you look like a goddess.”
“You’re-“ you stuttered holding your hand to your chest.
“Your future boyfriend I hope.” You must have looked like a tomato with how warm your cheeks were getting.
“Uh- are you serious? Is this a prank?.”
“Here’s my number. Use it wisely.” And with a wink he was gone as fast as he came.
——
“I’m supposed to believe he came to our family restaurant when your mama and I were gone?” You nod desperately. You take your mothers hand and show her your ring.
“Oh my god, Y/N. That’s a real ring! How did you-“ your doorbell is going off before you can explain.
“Do you want to get that, daddy?” You ask softly, praying to whatever god that Elvis was standing at the door. He huffs as he sits up, making his way to the door.
“Afternoon- OH MY GOD. You-“ Your father brings your fiancé into a bear hug. Your father squeezes the poor boy as you giggle. Your skin flushing at the display.
“It’s really Elvis! What in the hell?” Your mom grasps your hands tightly as the boy walks into the house, more like pulled. You giggle as he finally sees you, a bit frazzled. He detaches himself from your father as he makes his way to you. His lips soft against your cheek as your body warms.
“Uh, mom, dad, this is my fiancé.” You spout awkwardly as Elvis slips his arm around you. Your father gleams with excitement.
“I understand why you didn’t ask for my blessin’, son! You can marry my daughter!” You’ve never seen your father so ecstatic in your life. Except the one time he won a ticket to see Elvis. Or the one time he heard Heart Break Hotel on the radio in his car. Huh….you are sensing a running theme…
“I really do love your daughter. It’s jus’ been rough tryin’ to get a time together to meet y’all.” He smiles boyishly at your parents. Your mom still reeling in the fact that you were telling the truth.
“D-did ya enjoy our family diner?” Your mom stutters out. You stifle laugh placing your hand over your mouth. You look at Elvis awaiting his answer.
“Of course, ma’am! Great atmosphere, great food, and even greater waitresses.” He bumps you with his shoulder as you blush.
“Well, don’t be a stranger, Mister Presley! Come on, we were just gettin’ ready for our meal!” Your father pushes Elvis to a chair at the table. You shakily sit next to him as your nerves still haven’t fully settled.
“Why our daughter?” Your breath hitches as your mom starts to plate the food.
“Lord, where do I start? She looks as if she walked right out of a Hollywood movie. An absolute starlet.” Your skin flushes as his hand drifts to your thigh.
“I wish! We met up with some of his Hollywood buddies and they were super sweet! They think Elvis has a real shot of hittin’ it big!” You smile as he laughs. His gaze focuses on you the whole time. How could he have found the most amazing thing to have come out of him having to hide from fans in a local diner? His eyes never leave your lips as you continue to sing his praises.
“I really think it’s a great idea to see you two married! Can you believe it, honey? We’d be related to the Presley’s!” Your dad claps as he excitedly dug into his food. Your mother still seems a little hesitant.
“What’s gonna stop you from chasin’ other girls around town? My daughter hasn’t even dated before you!” Your eyes widen as you take a bite of your dinner. You hadn’t really had that conversation with Elvis yet…
“I’m your first boyfriend?” You wince at his surprised tone. You turned to face him.
“Uh, yeah. I, uh, never really thought about the whole dating thing. Until you kissed me at that charity concert…I-“ his lips are soft against your cheek. Your hand shaking in his hand.
“You don’t need to explain nothin’, darlin’. Thank you so much for the lovely dinner but I best be goin’ soon I only had a it of time to spare.” He began to get up as your father rose from his seat.
“How about you go with him, sweetheart? Your mom and I are gonna have a talk about all this.” You nod, hugging him quickly. You all but ran up the stairs to get away from the tension.
“How cute. Pink really fits you.” Elvis smirks as his fingers traced your bed sheets. You scoff as you pack a small bag.
“I haven’t gotten to change my sheets since I was like 10, E. Give me a break. Do you really want to do this?” Elvis’ hand caresses your face, pushing a few stray hairs out of your face.
“I want you. Every day. Afternoon. And night. You are all I think about.” His voice just a bit above a whisper. Your eyes were heavy as you stare at his lips.
“Can I be yours forever?” His lips were soft as he pulls you close. The kiss was delicate but passionate as he grips your hair slightly.
“If you’ll let me.”

The summer I turned pretty P1
Tumblr media
Summary: Every summer, you and your family go on vacation to the summer house of the Sturniolo’s. You basically grew up with the Sturniolo kids. You haven’t been there last year, so you didn’t saw the Sturniolo’s since two years. Nothing can change that much in two years. At least that’s what you thought.
Warnings: cursing
NEW FIC BABY!! I love the summer I turned pretty even if it’s cheesy. Hope you enjoy
-g3z0
„You should really bring this along.“ Ava says as she’s looking through my closet.
„Hm?“ I bring my head up from my phone, looking at my best friend.
She holds a red shirt out to me my mom bought me a while ago. I shake my head „nah, I don’t like that shirt.“ I mumble.
She turns to me and rolls her eyes „but you look so good in it!“ she protests, laying it into my suitcase.
I let out a sigh. „Hey.“ she whispers as she walks over to me. „Im gonna miss you..“ she says as she cups my cheeks in her hand, making me look up at her.
„Im just gone for the summer.“ I smile. She squeezes my cheeks and laughs a little before she lets go off me „still.“
„Im gonna miss you too.“ I breathe as she sits down on my bed next to me.
She looks over to the pinboard that’s hanging on the wall next to my bed. She hums and takes one picture that’s attached to it.
„Awhhh, you and the triplets?“ she smiles as she looks down at the pic.
I look down at the picture. It’s a pic of Matt, Chris, Nick and me, standing in front of their summer house. It was taken 2 years ago when we were 14.
„oh my god, they look exactly alike!“ she laughs. I smile and shake my head „nah, they don’t.“
She looks at me and rolls her eyes „yeah- because you know them.“ She points at Chris on the picture „who’s that?“ she asks.
„Chris.“ I answer, looking back at her. She raises her eyebrows and nudges me with her elbow „you just made that up.“ she laughs.
„I didn’t.“ I state with a chuckle. She hangs the picture back to my pinboard „he’s cute.“ she says.
I scrunch my nose up and turn my face to the side „Ava.“ I sigh. „Y/n.“ she laughs „what? He is.“
„That was two years ago.“ I nod to the picture before looking back at her. She shrugs with her shoulders „and? Bet he’s hot now.“
„Ava. Gross.“ I say, standing back up. She lets out a laugh and runs through her hair. „You‘re just jealous.“ she teases.
„Oh yeah, totally.“ I say sarcastically as I put the rest of my clothes into my suitcase.
-
Am I nervous? Of course I am.
We’re driving for like 40 hours. At least that’s what it feels like.
My brother Matteo drives even more slower than my grandma.
I sit in the passenger seat, listening to music through my AirPods as I day dream while I look out of the window.
My mother is sitting in the backseat, a book in her hand wich she read like 4 pages from before she fell asleep.
I didn’t saw the Sturniolo’s in two years because my dad thought it would be a great idea to remember he has two sons expect his other kids and wanting to „bond“ with them again.
At least that’s what he told my mom.
Matteo didn’t want to come. My dad expected that. When I said I didn’t want to come. He didn’t expect that.
Probably because I was 15 and Matteo was 18.
I was pissed off all summer long. I needed to play the babysitter for my dads other kids.
The only time my dad even talked to me was when he commented on my body.
I was an ugly kid - glasses, braces, weird body type.
For the whole summer my dad forced me to train with him. And I didn’t stop.
My braces are gone, I’m wearing contact lenses and I grew like fucking 5 inches. I hit puberty late.
So that’s what changed. Everything else was just the same when I saw the triplets the last time-
„Owh!“ I groan and look over to my brother as he slapped me against my shoulder. I pull out one of my AirPods and look at him with a frown „what the fuck was that for?“
Matteo looks over to me for a second before he looks back at the road. „Im talking to you for like 5 minutes straight, till I see you have your fucking AirPods in.“ he sighs.
I roll my eyes and slump back into my seat. „Asshole.“ I mumble as I put my AirPod back into my ear.
I hear Matteo’s muffled voice through my music, making me turn my phone volume up to the highest.
As we drive the same old road to cousins, I roll my window down, breathing in the familiar scent of the city.
Everytime we drive into Cousins, it feels like I’m coming home after I’ve been gone for a long time.
In Cousins, everything stays the same. It never changes. And I think that’s what gives me so much comfort.
When we’re finally there and Matteo drives onto the property of the Sturniolo’s, Matt and Chris already sit at the porch.
The triplets were blond when they were kids. Now they have dark brown hair. I don’t know if it’s the Boston air or if they just don’t go out that much.
Matt is wearing a middle part, not the ugly ass buzz cut our moms gave us every summer. Chris has long, curvy hair, most of it covered in a „new era“ cap.
I smile and take my AirPods out.
I lean over towards Matteo, pressing my hand against the horn two times.
My mom flinches and looks confused at us, before she looks out of the window „we’re already there..?“ she mumbles in a sleepy voice.
Matteo laughs a little and gets out of the car. I shake my head and do the same. Chris and Matt walk over to us, glaring at me hard.
„What the fuck happened with little y/n?“ Chris laughs, looking at me like I’m a different person.
„Language, Owen.“ my mother says as she gets out of the car. Chris smiles and interlocks his hands behind his back „hello, Darleen.“ he says, a familiar politeness in his voice wich my mom knows is just faked.
My mom chuckles and shakes her head, walking over to Matt and Chris. „Hey boys.“ she smiles softly as she hugs Matt first and then Chris.
It’s weird to see how much taller the two are than my mom now. I feel like it was just yesterday when we four were almost at the same height as her.
„Where’s Mary-lou?“ she asks as she pulls her sunglasses that where on her head, over the bridge of her noise. Matt nods towards the house „inside, she’s cooking.“ after that she walks into the house.
Matteo closes the door of the car „where’s Justin?“ he yells over to us.
„Inside!“ Chris and Matt yell back synchronously.
You know those two opossums from ice age? Yeah, Matt and Chris are literally them.
Matt and Chris watch my mom and matteo, waiting before they disappear into the house.
Then Chris takes me into a headlock, ruffling over my hair. „We missed you, though guy!“ Chris laughs.
I scrunch my nose and laugh, pushing him away from me. „I certainly didn’t.“ I lie.
Matt rolls his eyes before he daps me up and hugs me. „What does Darleen feed you?“ he chuckles as he lets go off me. „I swear, the last time we saw you, you were like 3 apples tall.“
„I wasn’t.“ I chuckle as I look around. „Where’s Nick?“
„Somewhere, I don’t know.“ Chris shrugs as he walks past me, towards the car trunk. I look at Matt and he also shrugs, doing the same as Chris. „Alright.“ I breathe, following them.
-
„Eat more, sweetheart.“ Mary-Lou says softly to me as she sits besides me at the dinner table.
I give her a warm smile before I shake my head „no, I’m good. But it tastes really good.“
My mom scoffs and nudges mary-Lou into her side with her elbow „he’s just saying that. You should see him at home! I need to go grocery shopping every day because of the two!“ she chuckles.
I roll my eyes playfully and look over the table. My eyes fall onto Nicks empty seat.
„do you have your sketchbook with you?“ Justin asks me on my other side, turning my attention from nicks seat to his. I nod a little as I put a piece of meat into my mouth. „Mhm.“
Justin was always impressed by my drawings. Sometimes it feels like he was the only reason I kept going.
He smiles at me and nods as he grabs his glass off the table „good. Show me after, aight?“
„Alright.“
„Don’t push his ego.“ Matteo says to Justin, shaking his head.
„Matt.. stop.“ my mom says, making Matteo and Matt look at her. My mom frowns before she shakes her head with a chuckle „sorry- not you, sweetie.“ she says to Matt. „Matteo. Stop.“ she corrects herself.
„I didn’t do anything!“ he defends himself, throwing his hands up.
„Sure you didn’t.“ Mary-Lou says.
One of the worst things about summer is when my mom is mad at me or Matteo. And when my mom is mad - Mary-Lou is mad.
The same thing with Mary-Lou’s kids.
Jimmy, the dad of the triplets, always comes a few weeks later than us. He only stays for a week tho - he’s too busy with work.
„So.“ my mother starts, looking at Matt and Chris „how does hockey and lacrosse do?“
I sigh to myself. Here we go.
Chris and Matt’s eyes light up as they start to yap about their team, their practices and everything that comes to their mind.
Like I said, the opossums of ice age.
I never was a big fan of sports. Nick wasn’t either.
So every summer when Matt and Chris played sports, me and Nick did something alone. Or we sat at the side and watched them, talking about god knows what.
Justin and Matteo are older than us. They always just did their own thing. Sometimes when we got lucky, our mom’s forced them to take us along.
It was fun for us, not for our older brothers.
My eyes fall back onto nicks empty seat. I stare at it for a few seconds before I let out a sigh, looking down on my plate and stabbing a piece of meat with my fork.
-
My room is still the same as ever. Nothing changed.
It’s the middle of the night now. Matt, Chris and me stayed downstairs for a while before they headed to bed.
I grab my swimming shorts out of my suitcase that’s laying on my bed and put them on.
I quietly open my door and sneak past the other rooms to the stairs. I walk downstairs and push the doors in the living room open that’s leading outside into the backyard.
The warm night breeze hits me and I smile to myself.
It is a routine. Every year, the first night, I wait until everyone is asleep and then I go swimming on my own in the pool.
My first night swim this summer.
I slowly step into the pool, the cold water is making a shiver run up my spine.
I swim a few laps. As I pull my head out of the water to get some air, I pause, seeing Nick sitting at the edge of the pool with his legs in the water, smoking a cigarette.
I freeze a little, glaring at him.
Matt and Chris have changed a lot in those two years. Not in their personality but in their looks. But Nick?
His buzz cut is gone, brown wavy hair is covering his forehead. He has a nose ring and his right arm is covered in tattoos.
His cold eyes lock onto mine as he calmly takes a drag from his cigarette.
I push my hair back and run over my face to get it a little dry. „Since when do you smoke?“ I ask, glaring at him. I tilt my head a little „and what are you even doing here?“
I didn’t saw him in two years and that’s seriously the first thing I say to him?
He exhales the smoke „wich should I answer first?“ he asks with his typical Nick face. Unbothered, annoyed.
My heart bumps against my chest.
I swim over to the edge and stop in front of him. „Second.“ I breathe.
He looks down at me and shrugs with his shoulders „couldn’t sleep. Took a walk.“
That’s a lie. He just came out here to smoke.
„how did you know I was out here? And since when do you smoke?“ I ask again, watching him as he takes another drag of his cigarette.
„You changed.“ he says, still not breaking eye contact with me. I lick my lips and look down at myself before looking back up at him. „You changed.“ I breathe. „And you didn’t answer my question.“
„Wich one?“ he questions, tilting his head.
I frown „what?“ He brings his cigarette up to his lips before speaking again. „You asked two questions.“ he states, taking another drag.
„Uhm.. both.“ I say. He shakes his head and his lips turn into a small smile before he flicks his cigarette into the grass „you’re out here like every night y/n.“
He stands up and walks towards the house, leaving me confused in the water.
„And the first question? Since when do you smoke?“ I yell after him.
„Good Night, y/n.“ he yells back before he disappears into the house.
I watch him disappear into the house with a frown.

The phone was up to your ear the moment you were inside of the airport, your purse hanging off your arm while Mingyu trailed behind you shaking his head. He wasn’t surprised you were already trying to call back home, he had expected it, so he had told you to go ahead while he took care of carrying the carry-ons. His eyes travel over the back of your head and down your body even as he gets closer to you, able to listen in to some of your conversation, his arms flexing to adjust one bag over his shoulder.
“Oh! Mom, hi! Yeah we just landed, literally. No…I don’t know what time it is.” Mingyu chuckles watching you pull the phone from your ear watching you read the time on your phone. It was 6 in the morning on the east coast which meant it was 3 am for her and the girls. Mingyu watches your face fall slightly, an apologetic look taking the place of your once excited one.
“Y/N, hey I’m sure it’s okay. You’ll get used to the time difference soon. Here, sit down for a second?” Your eyes meet Mingyu’s only to nod, taking a seat on a bench giving him a moment to put the bags next to you so that he could go to the luggage claim to find the larger bags while you talked on the phone. “He’s right, I’m not mad Y/N. I’m just tired…and I’d tell you to call back later but…”
You hear your mom’s tired voice quickly get covered up by the sound of Mina’s when she reaches for the phone telling her granny to hand it over. “Mommy?” Mingyu’s eyes were scanning the bags but he still made time to check on you, happy to see that smile return to your face. “Baby, I’m sorry I woke you up. You should let your granny go back to sleep and you do the same. I can call back later, I was just, you know, missing you.”
Mina laughs, how tired she was obvious in her little voice even over the phone. “It’s okay mommy. I miss you too but we have so many fun things planned with granny and with Amy’s grandma.” Your eyes find Mingyu in the crowd, you found that was fairly easy with his height and general good looks. He stuck out sometimes or even found himself the center of attention depending on the audience.
With your thumb nail resting against your teeth, you laugh into a nod at Mina’s words, a soft sigh taking over the laugh when Mingyu winks at you across the crowd. “I hope you have the best time Mina. I know they will take great care of you, but remember you and Amy can call me and Mingyu anytime. You don’t have to worry about the time difference, okay?”
Letting the bag roll beside him, Mingyu makes his way back over to you in time to hear the end of your sentence raising his brow at your words. “Worry a little bit about the time difference.” Mina’s laugh is loud enough for him to hear, causing him to smile. “Okay mommy, and I want you to have fun too. I’m gonna go back to sleep. Call me back later?”
You make a sound acknowledging her question, moving to stand up next to Mingyu reaching out to take your carry-on. “Okay baby, I love you. Goodnight.” When you smile at her little voice almost repeating your words before the phone disconnects, you find Mingyu’s hand is quicker than yours. Your eyes scan over his personal carry-on over his shoulder, the shared large suitcase at one side as he lifts your smaller carry-on to sit on top of it.
“Gyu?” Mingyu makes a sound similar to the one you had made on the phone with Mina, his eyes lifting to meet yours causing him to smile at your confusion. “What’s that look for Y/N?” When you gesture your hands out to the bags Mingyu takes the chance to grab your hand with his free one nodding.
“And? We are ready to go. The driver is waiting for us, I think just through there. It’s been a little while since I’ve been back here.” You furrow your brows pouting at his instance to not let you help with anything while you walk beside him. “You have got to stop babying me, Mingyu. I thought the reason we packed the one suitcase was so that we could have an easier trip together, not so that you could carry it all on your back.”
You see a smirk form on his lips out of the corner of your eyes making you narrow your eyes even before he speaks. “Well I’m not carrying it on my back, it’s rolling beside me. I barely even notice it, now stop frowning so much bab–Y/N.” Your brows furrow at Mingyu’s choked back words but you don’t have time to question them when you find yourself searching names in a large lobby of people.
“Ah, there he is. See my name?” Moving to your tip-toes you nod seeing a sharply dressed man holding a sign simply stating, ‘Kim Mingyu’ near the front of the group. With your hand held tightly in his, Mingyu guides you through the rest of the people to the driver smiling at the man before introducing himself and you. “Let me take these bags sir.”
When Mingyu allows the man to take the large suitcase and your carry-on you simply look up at him giving him a look of disbelief causing him to laugh. “Y/N…please, come on.” With a tug to your hand, Mingyu pulls you closer, keeping you next to him while you both follow the driver out of the airport towards the waiting vehicle.
Once again you find yourself scoffing when Mingyu makes you get into the back of the suv so he can help the driver load the luggage before he joins you. A grin on his face when he finds you staring at him, a look of discontent in your eyes. “What? There is that look again. Just lean back and relax, once we get to the airbnb if you want to yell at me, you can.”
He knew you weren’t going to yell at him, not over something so silly, though he knew you were fully capable of helping do things. His fingers lacing with yours, Mingyu tries to hide his pleased smile when you sigh and lean against the seat only to adjust so that your head is against his shoulder. His eyes are towards the front so he can pay attention to the driver and the road just out of caution almost the entire way but he can’t help but to steal a few glances and gentle brushes of his fingers against your skin when you doze off beside him.
Mingyu almost hates to wake you when the car stops in front of the tall building on 42nd street. Your nose pressed against his arm causing him to smile when he brushes his fingers against your cheek moving your hair from your face. “Y/N, we are here. You gotta wake up, I promise once we get upstairs if you want to lay down I won’t stop you. In fact, I might join you, if you let me.” Your soft whine as you wake up makes Mingyu laugh tenderly, you reminded him of Mina so much, it made him miss the kids but he knew you both needed the break…especially you.
“We are here already?” You blink when the door opens next to Mingyu, the driver stepping off to the side letting Mingyu help you out of the vehicle. You rest your hand in his while you slide off the seat, your eyes instantly going upwards to the tall building making you lose any words you once had. “I know…” Mingyu laughs, noticing your uptilted gaze, “A bit bigger than what we are used to at home, huh?”
You nod, but Mingyu lets you move on your own while he tips the driver and takes over the luggage once again. You only notice he is back at your side when his hand rests on your lower back, guiding you towards the large doors of the building. “Wait until you see the view from inside the building.”
In just a few minutes you find yourself holding the doors to your airbnb open for Mingyu so he can pull the suitcase inside of it, still insisting that he doesn’t need you to touch anything. “See, I told you. It was nothing, just an elevator ride and we’d be here. We can unpack it later. We are here for almost a week.”
Mingyu smirks watching you roll your eyes, muttering along with his words causing him to laugh. “Y/N…you are being sassy. I thought you slept on the plane but do I need to put you down for a nap?” Your cheeks burn slightly, turning on the balls of your feet you start to complain to Mingyu but find him right in front of you. You feel his hands moving over your arms, him walking you backwards into the living room, a smile on his face.
“I’m not sassy, Gyu, and I don’t need to be put to bed like a child.” Mingyu laughs at your words, his right hand moving up to slide along your neck into your hair at your ear. He watches your head tilt back for him, his thumb gliding along your neck causing you to swallow hard. “Now you are putting words in my mouth.”
When his lips brush over yours, you feel your knees go slightly weak. There had been so few times when the two of you had a chance to be alone for long. This was completely new to both of you, no need to be concerned that a child would come running into the room causing the two of you to jump back from one another.
Your hands rest on his forearms, a soft sound of contentment escaping your lips making Mingyu smile against your lips. “We have all the time in the world here.” You smile at his words spoken against your lips, nodding you glance up to meet his eyes even so close for a moment before letting your eyes close once again. Mingyu smiles into the kiss, deepening it, taking in a deep breath of your perfume. You were intoxicating and he couldn’t wait for the chance to get to know you even better but he’d never rush you.
When Mingyu pulls back, his hands sliding from your neck to your arms, you furrow your brows slightly glancing up at him. You find an almost shy look on his face if it wasn’t for the slight smirk on his lips giving him away. His fingers lace with yours briefly before he is stepping away to get the luggage, bringing it further into the room and searching for the bedroom making an ‘ah’ sound when he finds it on the first try.
You scoff, a pout on your lips while you pull at the end of your shirt over your jeans a bit upset that he had stopped kissing you. You start to follow him, muttering under your breath, “As if it was that hard to find the bedroom in a one bedroom airbnb…” Mingyu only catches the end furrowing his brows, uncertain of what you had said when you finally reach the same room as him.
“What did you say?” He watches you shrug and smile playfully causing him to narrow his eyes curiously. “Nothing, this is a nice room. Where are you going to sleep, Gyu?” Mingyu scoffs as you tease him, his eyes scanning over the king sized bed when you move over to it laying on it not taking up much space. “What, you don’t want to sleep with me?”
He hadn’t meant it like that but when your eyes widen, it doesn’t take long for him to do the same. “Oh…no not like that. I meant, just in the same…” Your laugh pulls him back to reality when you sit up and shake your head. “Mingyu it’s fine, of course I do. I mean I want you to sleep in this bed…with me.” Mingyu watches you struggle to find the right words, he knew that if he reached out to touch your cheeks they would be hot to the touch.
Clearing his throat, Mingyu nods, a smile crossing his lips when he looks back towards the luggage, starting to open it to find a few things. “Then it’s settled, we will sleep together…” He hears you take a breath causing him to smirk because he knew what he was doing when he finished his sentence, “in the same bed.”
“Mhm, that’s the plan. Is that the bathroom?” Mingyu glances to where you are gesturing, your voice cracking slightly causing his smile to widen slightly. “Uh probably, from the pictures, we have an ensuite.” You nod almost too enthusiastically while sliding off the bed to get past Mingyu to head to the bathroom when you find yourself with his arm around your waist pulling you back towards him.
“Take your toiletries with you, Y/N. Something tells me you won’t want to ask me to bring them to you.” You shiver to the feeling of his breath against your ear, your fingers hold his forearm against your stomach while you take a steadying breath. You find Mingyu smiling at you when you meet his eyes, his fingers trailing over your side and stomach before he steps away letting you do what you need to do. “Smart, you’re right Mingyu. I wouldn’t let you, probably.”
Mingyu watches you dig through your carry-on, his smile concealed just barely when you fumble with the smaller toiletry bag. His eyes follow you all the way to the door only to take a breath when you close it behind you leaving him in the bedroom alone so he can mutter to himself. “God…she’s so fucking cute. Keep it together, Mingyu.”
Inside the bathroom you lean against the large counter holding double sinks in front of possibly the biggest mirror you had ever seen. You hadn’t taken a chance to really look at your appearance since you had gotten off the plane so now you were cringing slightly from the obviously traveled appearance in front of you. Digging through your bag you find your makeup bag and hairbrush so you could touch up at least slightly before going back out to see Mingyu again.
No man had ever made you simultaneously feel shy, anxious, comfortable, and desired before. You were terrified to be around him and yet there was nowhere else you wanted to be. Running your fingers through your hair, you manage to tame it back to something acceptable, nodding at your reflection before heading back out into the bedroom. “Sorry, I know I’m being completely idio…”
You had started to explain yourself to Mingyu but by the time you got back into the room you found yourself smiling, your hand going over your lips to silence any sound. Soft breathy snores leave his lips, Mingyu’s body completely on the bed except for his arm that had managed to fall from his side. “God you didn’t sleep at all did you?”
The words are barely a whisper, you walk on your tiptoes though you had a feeling nothing was going to wake him. With a light touch you carefully lift at his arm putting it over his stomach, your eyes going to his face watching his lips smack a few times in his sleep. He was so handsome, you couldn’t help but to reach out, pushing his hair from his forehead. “Rest well, Gyu.”
Tumblr media
Mingyu groans softly, his face against the pillows when he hears the soft sounds of traffic from below the building. Opening his eyes he sighs seeing that the sun is lower in the sky but not quite setting yet. You had let him sleep for far too long, he didn’t need to nap all day but he really wasn’t going to complain. It had been so long since he had the chance to just lay down and not worry about what he had to do.
Glancing around the room, Mingyu furrows his brows, not finding the luggage at the end of the bed. Clearly you had been up doing things which now made him feel a bit bad about his nap but maybe it would make you feel better about the luggage debacle at the airport. He really hadn’t been trying to make you feel like you couldn’t handle it, he had just wanted to take care of you.
Standing, his arms stretched behind him, Mingyu moves to the window to look over the city enamored with the view. He really loved the city, not nearly as much as home but it was nice to get away and see something different every once in a while. A small sound from outside of the bedroom draws his attention over his shoulder, Mingyu smiles, unable to help himself in wondering what you had been up to while he had napped.
You had thought you might get bored while you let him rest but as usual you found it pretty easy to find things to keep yourself occupied. You had put away your and Mingyu’s clothes, all of the toiletries now had a spot in the bathroom, and you had managed to explore the rest of the airbnb. You now knew how the remotes worked, one for the television, one for the curtains, and one that seemed to manage the heat and air.
As the time ticked by you found your stomach beginning to grumble, the light meal on the plane hadn’t really gone too far for you so knowing Mingyu the moment he woke up he would be starving. You quickly found that some of the same delivery apps you used at home worked just fine in New York once you found the correct address for the airbnb.
Just in time you were trying to get all the food out of the bags, only managing to drop your phone onto the floor, when Mingyu moves into the kitchen to find you semi-struggling. You don’t notice him even picking up your phone, putting it on the counter until his hands slide around your hips causing you to jump. “Shh, you are so jumpy. Did you lock the door back?”
You laugh out a yes, nodding while glancing back to meet Mingyu’s gaze as he smiles. “Then who else would be touching you like this?” Shrugging you lean back against him, making Mingyu take in a deep breath of your scent he loved so much when his nose brushes past your hair. “You just surprised me. I didn’t know you were even awake. I was going to come get you in a few minutes, I didn’t want the food to get too cold. How was your nap?”
Mingyu lets his nose push against your ear, a sigh dripping from his lips. He has to fight himself to not keep holding you to him, instead he chuckles against your neck before stepping away to look over the boxes of food. “It was nice and long. Too long, you didn’t have to let me sleep that long at all. I’m sure you were bored.”
You watch him furrowing his brows like there was always a word missing from his sentences, but for some reason you understood the unspoken frustration. “Mm, I wasn’t. I got plenty of things done and you needed the rest.” Mingyu glances at you, shaking his head while he opens boxes, the sound of his stomach making you laugh.
“I knew you would be hungry.” His smile makes you match it, especially when you offer him a fork and he takes it from your hand only to pick up a piece of chicken turning the fork towards you offering you the first bite. Mingyu watches you take the piece of food off the fork, a small smirk on his lips before he does the same nodding at the taste.
“This is delicious…I had thought about trying to go out tonight but maybe we can just rest tonight and go out tomorrow. Spend the day seeing some sights then I can take you somewhere nice tomorrow night?” You can’t hide the smile that spreads across your face so you lean to pick up some fries taking a bite of a few before offering some to Mingyu letting him take them from your fingers with one bite.
His lips brush over your skin leaving you a bit breathless but you nod nonetheless. “Are you asking me out on a date Mr. Kim?” Mingyu grins, licking his fingers clean, his brow raising at your question. You watch him lean his hip against the counter before he leans to pick up one of the burgers you had ordered specifically for him. “I am. One where you put on one of those dresses you complained about me buying you so I can look nice with you on my arm.”
You scoff, a straw pressed against your lips when your cheeks start to burn from his words. Mingyu’s eyes slowly trace over your face, his smile only fading long enough for him to take a large bite of his burger so he can chew with a smirk. “How many of these fancy dates are you planning on taking me on? You bought me three dresses, Mingyu.”
“Three dates, obviously. At least dates where you will wear one of those dresses. Otherwise you can dress in whatever you want. You always look beautiful, but I wanted you to be the center of attention, for everyone to look at you the way I look at you all the time.” He had a way with words, you swallow hard putting your drink to the side watching him take another bite of his burger, half of it gone as if he hadn’t just complimented you like that.
Shaking your head, you turn your head away only to feel his fingers turn your gaze back to him so you see him licking his lips clean, his burger set to the side. “But I won’t make you do anything you don’t want to do, Y/N. So if the dressing up is too much, you can just–” You had a knack for surprising him with kisses, but when your lips cut his words off this time Mingyu simply smiles against your lips, his fingers pressing into your waist.
“I think we both need to stop trying to walk on eggshells around each other. We are acting like we’re going to say or do something wrong and the other person is going to go running but I’m not going to run away Mingyu.” His fingers slide lower daring to slip just below your shirt pulling it up your back so his fingertips can brush your bare skin when he sighs to your words nodding.
“You’re right, but I wouldn’t stop you. However…I’m not going anywhere. This is right where I want to be.” You smile against his lips, the food almost forgotten when your fingers run along his chest towards his shoulder. Mingyu takes a breath, his brows furrowing when his lips meet yours again letting his tongue graze along your bottom lip testing the waters.
The feeling sends a shiver through your body that makes the corner of his lips turn up but your lips part for him eliciting a small groan from his throat. You are surprised when your thighs press together at the sound, a slight panic running through you but you don’t pull back just yet instead you let your tongue glide along his while his hand slides along your back.
You weren’t sure how you wanted this to go. Neither of you had talked too much about your romantic plans once you had reached New York but it had hung in the air from the moment the trip became real. You knew you wanted more with Mingyu, and clearly he wanted more with you, but then the fear that you were moving too fast creeped over you causing your kiss to falter slightly.
Mingyu leans his forehead against yours when your lips fall from his, you can hear him swallow hard. His hand doesn’t move from your back just yet, instead his fingers lazily draw circles on your skin while he listens to you breathe. “We will go slow, I’m in no rush. I’d be a fool to be.”
His words are quiet when Mingyu speaks against your hair letting you move in closer to him to rest your cheek on his chest. You take in a deep breath of his cologne, feeling it calm your nerves, your heart slowing down even though you felt like you were floating. “I don’t want to disappoint you Mingyu. I love this, y–being in your arms. Kissing you, the idea of where this is going. I’m just, I guess, scared.”
Mingyu’s eyes close when you change your wording on a dime. He wished you’d just say it, but then again, that was hypocritical knowing he had done the same thing time and time again. “You haven’t disappointed me, never think that. I love this too and I will say it again, I won’t rush you. It scares me too, how much I like this, how much I like you.”
You look up when Mingyu leans back, his hand moving from your back to brush your hair behind your ear while he looks down at you searching your eyes. “I know you’ve been hurt, I know we don’t talk about it much but…if you ever want to know, I’ll listen.” Mingyu watches your eyes shift away from him at his words, making him wonder if he had said the wrong thing. Fear spreads through his mind but when you nod he smiles at you, softly running his thumb over your cheek.
“Yeah, maybe…but I’ll need something stronger than lemonade to get through that conversation, Gyu.” His soft laugh makes you smile, something you really needed. He was spot on without even realizing it. You were terrified to go too fast or too far with him because there was so much at stake. It wasn’t just your life and heart on the line, you had to consider Mina. You had to consider his heart and Amy’s. Then all the trauma of your past relationship would wash over you anytime you thought about getting closer to him making it feel like a wall was in the way.
“You just tell me what your poison is and I’ll get it for you.” His fingers brush over your neck when you lean your head into his hand, Mingyu watching you adoringly. When your eyes meet his and you smile at his words, he can’t help but to smile back at you. “Thank you, and you know this goes both ways. If you want to tell me about things…you can, but I won’t make you. We have just never gone down that road.”
Mingyu nods, his brows furrowing when he feels his heart tighten at what you were referencing. It was a fair proposition. If you were going to talk through your past relationship and how it ended, it might be fair to explain how he had lost his wife. Mingyu swallows hard and tries to give you the same smile but you can see the sadness under the mask causing your stomach to feel tight.
“Of course, when we are ready we can have that conversation.” His fingers tug at your hair gently before he steps away turning back towards the food. You watch him take a steadying breath, his hand shaking ever so slightly when he picks up his burger taking one last bite of it. You can’t help but to wonder if you can live up to the woman that still seems to hold his heart so tightly even after so many years.

It was somewhat surprising to both you and Mingyu how quickly the two of you fell into a pattern of relaxation that first evening. Yes, there was still a layer of tension. This unspoken wall between you but yet you still found yourself in his arms on the couch, a movie playing on the largest TV you had ever seen. His lips occasionally pressing against your temple, your hand finding purchase on his fingers, any reason to have contact.
You found yourself dozing off when Mingyu’s phone rang causing him to sigh softly, adjusting against you so that he could pull the device from his pocket smiling when he saw a facetime call from your mother. Sharing a glance, both of you knew it was probably one of the girls if not both. You had called them earlier Mingyu had been asleep so it would make sense that Amy would be missing her dad.
Mingyu watches you start to sit up only to reach over, wrapping his arm around your shoulders when he presses ‘accept’ letting the camera turn on, a smile on his face. “Daddy! Hi!” You are surprised to only see Amy, a smile crossing your face when she notices you in her dad’s arms. “Oh my gosh, hi mommy!” Mingyu shakes his head glancing at you when his daughter opts to call you mommy like she had so many times in the past couple of weeks.
“Amy…” You start to speak but she giggles knowing you are going to tell her you aren’t her mommy only to trail off to have her say, “yet” but her small laugh is enough to stop you this time. “Where is Mina?” Mingyu’s voice brings you back to reality and makes Amy nod, sliding off of what you recognize as the guest bed, the phone unsteady in her hand as she speed walks down the hall towards the kitchen.
“Mina! Daddy and mommy are on the phone!” You sigh leaning your head back when you hear your own mother laugh happily in the background. A small smile crosses Mingyu’s lips while he adjusts next to you again. You watch him clear his throat hiding his amused smile when your eyes glance over his face. “It’s not funny Mingyu…”
“Hi mommy, Hi Mr. Mingyu.” Your attention is drawn back to the phone at the sound of your daughter’s voice, your eyes quickly dart over her face making you smile brightly seeing her distracted making cookies with your mother. “Hi baby, are you all making things with granny?” Mina nods, lifting her sprinkle covered sugar cookie, icing covering her fingers and lips.
“Mina is, I’m not really that good at it. I decorated like two but I kept breaking off the small bits so I asked if I could call you guys.” Mingyu laughs softly, his fingers moving subconsciously to play with the end of your hair while he listens. “It’s alright honey, when we get back we know now that you can hang out with Y/N while Mina and I take care of the kitchen.” Amy laughs, nodding in agreement, letting the phone rest on the counter so she can pick up one of the decorated cookies taking a bite of it. From the angle you are able to watch her eating while also watching Mina with your mother who glances at the phone a few times before smirking.
“You two look cozy, are you having a wonderful time in New York?” The warmth in your cheeks causes Mingyu to glance at you when he feels it against his cheek, a laugh slipping from his lips when you only nod. “Uh, yeah…yeah we are having a great time. Thank you for helping with the kids Mrs. Y/L/N.”
Your mother smiles tilting her head watching Mingyu’s hand move from your hair to your shoulder squeezing lightly. Her eyes seem to smile almost brighter than her actual smile when she simply shakes her head. “Mingyu, just call me mom, Y/N does.”
You scoff while Mingyu laughs leaning up, moving his arm from around you to run his hand over his lips. “Mom, please, seriously?” You listen to her laugh at your complaining while the girls giggle enjoying their cookies and her teasing. “I am being serious, Amy has the right idea. It makes things a lot easier.” You couldn’t believe that she had jumped on this bandwagon so easily but watching her smile seeing you happy and in her eyes “loved”.
“Okay…well as much fun as this is. It’s getting late here and whereas this one had a nap today I did not.” Mingyu smiles at you so lovingly your mom finds it impossible not to feel her heart tighten. Her eyes follow him when he leans in to press a soft kiss to your cheek even as you laugh and tell him to stop out of embarrassment. “Mmhm, well you two have fun. Get some rest, Y/N. I love you very much. I love both of you.”
Mingyu turns his gaze towards the camera furrowing his brows but smiles softly. “We love you too.” He was speaking for you now; you should be offended, is the first thought on your mind but you find yourself swallowing hard, your cheeks burning once again. You only nod while Mingyu takes care of telling the girls goodnight and how much the two of you love them, leaving the last words to you when Mina asks for you.
“Goodnight baby, don’t stay up too late. Either of you, please? I love you so much…both of you, okay?” Amy grins just like her dad making your heart beat faster when she leans against your daughter, her eyes on the camera when she tells you that she loves you too. “Mm, bye bye.” The moment the screen goes to black you let out a slow breath causing Mingyu to look at you curiously, his phone laid on the coffee table. He uses his hand closest to you to move your hair from your face, almost begging for you to look at him.
“Y/N…are you okay? I feel like I should be apologizing for something.” Your hand slides along his forearm up to his wrist making Mingyu smile slightly even though you still don’t look at him. “You don’t have anything to apologize for, Gyu.” It was Mingyu’s turn to swallow hard, his eyes watching you when your hand dropped from his and you started to stand up shivering slightly.
“Alright, I don’t have anything to apologize for, but are you okay?” You nod glancing back at him to give him a reassuring smile but Mingyu can almost see right through it. Your hands running along your arms trying to bring some warmth into them from your lack of contact with Mingyu. “Just tired, it really is getting late. I’m gonna get ready for bed.”
Mingyu nods watching you leave the room, his eyes following you until you are out of his sight. He hated this wall between the two of you that had formed. It had always been there in a way but never this badly. You were supposed to be closer on vacation, no kids, no distractions and yet it seemed harder to reach you. He sat there for a few minutes trying to give you some space but the feeling kept nagging him. Maybe you didn’t want to talk about things yet, but at least he could be there for you in any way he could. He could be more open with you.
By the time you come out of the bathroom, your face clean, hair still slightly damp from your shower, you are surprised to find Mingyu already sitting on the bed waiting for you. He grins and leans to pick up the second wine glass he had found, a bit of red wine waiting for you. “Hope you don’t mind, since our hosts left this for us. I figured we could enjoy it.”
Mingyu smiles as you laugh softly making your way to the empty side of the bed. He finds himself unable to keep his eyes from traveling over your bare skin under your pretty satin nightgown. He doubts that you wear something like that every night but it was a treat to see you in it either way. Mingyu lets you take the wine glass from his fingers, his eyes finally moving back to your eyes to find your brow raised slightly.
“What?” The word comes out in a laugh making you smile even when you tip the glass to your lips taking a sip before speaking. “You were staring at me…makes me feel a bit self conscious.” Mingyu makes a sound of understanding, sliding his body closer to the middle of the bed to get a bit closer to you, his own wine glass in his hand. “I was appreciating you. You are stunning…and forgive me but I’m getting to enjoy seeing you more while we are here. I’ve never seen you in a nightgown before.”
Mingyu laughs when you breathe into your wine making it bubble slightly back into the glass out of embarrassment at his words. “Is that too forward? I thought we had gotten past that…” You shake your head glancing at him when he leans towards you slightly, his free hand next to yours on the bed just an inch away. “I mean…no, it’s not really forward, but you are right, we’ve never seen each other like this. I’ll be honest I usually just wear an old t-shirt to bed. I tried to look a bit nicer…”
The idea of you in an old t-shirt, perhaps one of his causes Mingyu to take a deep breath, his own wine glass against his lips. You watch him tilt the glass back letting the alcohol slip into his mouth while you study him and his reaction. His eyes finally move back to yours a bit shyly but only for a second before he seems to steady himself. “You don’t need to be wearing anything special to look beautiful, Y/N.”
He really did have a way with words. You turn your head away, a smile on your lips when you take another sip of your wine only to feel Mingyu’s fingers push your hair from your cheek when he speaks again under a sigh. “Are you too tired to have part of that talk? I’m not asking for you to tell me anything tonight but if you are up for it…I can explain a few things.”
When you lean into his touch, Mingyu’s chest tightens. His eyes meeting yours, he gives you a smile before turning to put his wine on the nightstand and adjust in the bed under the covers offering you the space next to him if you want it. Mingyu watches you take another large sip of your wine before you cautiously move to lay against him, the feeling of the satin soft against his arm when he wraps it around you.
“Mingyu?” When you speak, Mingyu smiles using his other hand to pull the covers up to you so you won’t be cold though his body was radiating like your own personal heater. “You only have to do this if you want to, you don’t have to talk about this if it makes you uncomfortable or sad.”
Mingyu glances down at you slightly with the smile on his face, shrugging his shoulders. “I want to talk about it, I never really do, you know? Other people try to push me to, or force it out of me. You are the first person that I think I actually want to talk to about it willingly. I want you to know how important that is to me, okay?”
He watches you nod while you chew on your lips, the covers moving slightly at your lap where your fingers were undoubtedly rubbing together out of nerves. “Okay…” Your voice is so quiet it almost makes Mingyu’s heart hurt but he smiles at you still, leaning to kiss your cheek, a sigh leaving his lips.
“Alright, so I met Amy’s mom when we were in college. She was a year younger than me but entirely more mature than I will probably ever be, a lot like you.” You find yourself unable to help it when you smile at the beginning of his story, though it was scary to learn about the woman who meant so much to him you knew it was important. Mingyu laughs a bit leaning his head back against the headboard as he continues his story talking about how they got together, how he was head over heels for her and not the other way around at first.
As the story continues you find yourself sharing in his smiles of how he worked up the courage to ask her to marry him, the story of their wedding, and finally Amy. It is only when he clears his throat straightening his back does your smile begin to fade, everything had seemed perfect, so easy but you already knew the basics of what had happened. “The pregnancy was going fine, Amy was healthy, her mom seemed perfectly healthy but apparently there was some undiagnosed heart condition.”
Mingyu feels your fingers lace with his when his voice seems to crack very slightly. You notice him glancing at you but never making full eye contact but you understand why knowing if he did he might not be able to keep back emotions he was clearly holding back. “She went into labor, refused to let anyone think she couldn’t do it…Amy is so much like her when it comes to being stubborn.”
Though Mingyu was doing his best to keep tears back, you were failing as they collected on the rim of your eyes listening to him talk. “She got to see Amy once, they laid her on her chest, she smiled at her before everything just kinda went to shit. Her heart gave out because the stress of the labor was too much.”
You wanted to speak to tell Mingyu how sorry you were but when you see his hand move to push tears out of his eyes you find yourself almost speechless for a moment when he laughs sadly. “Just one of those fluke things, ya know? Something they should have caught near the beginning of her pregnancy but…they didn’t.”
Mingyu sniffs back his tears and sighs, starting to apologize to you when you put your hand on his cheek shaking your head. “Don’t ever apologize for mourning her. She sounds like she was amazing and I am so sorry, Mingyu.” You watch him close his eyes, tears rolling down his cheeks when he nods. “It’s okay, it was a long time ago now. I just, you can see why I don’t really talk about it.”
Nodding you run your thumbs over his cheeks pushing away his tears while Mingyu seems to regain his composure. His eyes finally opened to look at you to see your own tears fresh on your cheeks making him frown and reach up to brush them away. “Don’t cry for me…I don’t want you to be sad.”
“I doubt this is the last time either one of us will cry for the other Mingyu. We still have so much to learn about each other…there is a lot of past.” Mingyu smiles a bit, nodding, his thumb still moving over your skin while your hand moves to hold his wrist. “I know, and when you are ready, I’m here for you, Y/N.”
You knew he was, but after hearing his story tonight wasn’t the night. You found yourself just wanting to comfort him, be in his arms especially with how tired you already were. “Turn off the lamp.” Mingyu simply nods to your words moving from you only for a moment to turn off the light before he has you back in his arms.

“Y/N…normally I wouldn’t rush you, but I did make reservations.” You can hear the smile in Mingyu’s voice from the other side of the bathroom while you finish putting in your earrings, checking your appearance one last time in the mirror. Your stomach was in knots, the rest of the day had been such a breeze compared to this. The two of you had spent the day going from place to place looking at different sights while Mingyu snuck photos of you, but now you were dressed in one of the nicest black floor length dresses you had ever worn.
“Gyu…I will stick a hairpin into your eye if you don’t get away from this door. Just go grab my black heels for me or something? I’ll be out in like two seconds.” He could hear the whine in your voice, and the nerves. You had started getting ready the moment the two of you had gotten back to the airbnb around 4 hours ago while he had taken only 30 minutes to use the spare bathroom to shower, fix his hair, and finally get dressed in his suit. You were fussing over every little detail, afraid to look less than perfect.
“Ouch…that’s a scary threat. Fine, I have the shoes. I’ll just sit here and wait, but I’m sure you are breathtaking.” Mingyu hears you whine again making him laugh, your black strappy heels in his hand when he goes to sit on the bench at the end of the bed looking towards the closed bathroom door waiting for you.
It takes another 10 minutes before you are able to convince yourself to leave the bathroom, Mingyu sits up surprised hearing the door open ready to give you a hard time but when he sees you he finds himself speechless. “Oh my god…is it that bad? I thought this one would be good for the first night because you said this place was really fancy. I have the green dress…”
Mingyu is on his feet, his hand around your waist the moment you start towards the closet to try to change. “Don’t you dare…oh my god.” Shyly you glance up into his eyes really seeing him for the first time tonight, his hair perfectly shaped, his tie actually tied not a clip-on, his cologne intoxicating. Your knees feel weak as if you are already in the high-heels making you lean more against Mingyu who leans down and presses his lips against your ruby red ones.
You give into his kiss for a moment, letting his hand on your waist grip you tightly until he pulls away and brushes his nose along your neck taking in the scent of your perfume. Mingyu can’t help but to smirk a bit when he feels your skin erupt in goosebumps under his nose. “I thought we couldn’t be late because of a reservation…”
Mingyu’s chuckle against your skin causes you to smile, your fingers barely brushing through the longer hair at the nape of his neck when he leans back to look at you giving you a real once over this close. “We do have a reservation, unfortunately.” His words cause you to laugh and shake your head. Mingyu smiles, letting you take the shoes from him and his place on the bench so he can watch you put the shoes on then offer you his hand. Shaking your head you join Mingyu at his side, letting him lead you out of the room and finally out of the airbnb.
With a thick faux fur coat wrapped around you along with Mingyu’s arm, you smile watching your breath in front of your face while you walk. Your stomach was impossibly full and your mind a bit fuzzy from some of the best wine and champagne you had ever tasted. The car had been there when you two were ready to leave but you had asked Mingyu if the two of you could walk at least part of the way back. The night was so beautiful, all the Christmas lights were still up even as everyone was still preparing for New Years Eve.
You looked so happy, truly happy there was no way Mingyu was going to say no to you. So now he walked beside you letting you set the pace, he knew you were in heels and didn’t want your feet to hurt you by the time you decided to call it or if you reached the apartment buildings. He watched your face turn up in wonder at the sight of all the different lights, the tall buildings, in a city that truly never slept.
“It’s so cold.” Your words bring Mingyu back to you completely, a slightly frown on his lips until he sees you smiling. “Do you want me to call the car?” You fall in closer to him, shaking your head causing Mingyu to laugh, bringing his arm up around your shoulders, rubbing them slowly. “Okay, I just don’t want you to get too cold. We can turn on the fireplace when we get back but I don’t want it to take too long for you to get warm again. I don’t want you to get sick. Your nose is already getting a little red.”
Your soft laugh when he touches your nose checking to see how cold it is. “Gyu, stop it.” You bat at this hand only for him to catch it in his bringing your fingers to his lips kissing them gently. “Mm these are cold too.” Shaking your head, you smile almost lovingly up at Mingyu when he kisses your fingers once more before letting them go. A shy grin taking the place of his playful one at how you are looking at him before he glances away and forward to where he is walking.
“You are so handsome Mingyu…you always are. I mean, not like you don’t know that, but this suit, your hair, everything…you just look so nice.” You were always catching Mingyu off guard; yes, he knew you had drank at the restaurant, you were clearly feeling a bit freer with your words, but he had never expected you to say that to him. It was his turn for his cheeks to warm up slightly, a grin spreading over his, in your opinion, ridiculously handsome face.
“I..I don’t always know that. What does that mean? I don’t always look nice, Y/N.” You shake your head at his words pulling him towards a store window display not paying attention to what the store is or what is displayed, only that it was reflective so he could see himself. “Yes you are, and tonight you look like a million bucks. If the PTA moms could see you now, Mr. Kim.”
The laugh that fills your ears makes you smile brighter while you watch Mingyu in the reflection, his hand running carefully through his hair while he shakes his head. You watch him roll his eyes, his hand pulling you closer before his eyes drop to the display with a raised brow causing you to do the same. You had stopped in front of a Tiffany & Co. store by accident, engagement rings, wedding bands, and other jewelry on display in front of you shining like the Christmas lights.
“Wow…they are pretty.” You take a breath at Mingyu’s words, your eyes scanning over the rings even while he leans closer taking a look. “They are, and probably worth more than my car.” Mingyu’s smile is almost as dazzling as some of the jewelry when he glances over to meet your eyes. “Mm, maybe…what do you think about that one?” Your eyes follow his to a pear shaped diamond near the middle of the display that was surrounded by small diamonds.
“It’s…gorgeous, and like I said, probably worth a ridiculous amount of money.” Mingyu only smirks a bit moving his hand from your shoulder to lace his fingers with yours nodding. “You are probably right but I think most people only buy one or two rings like that in their life, so it’s kind of worth it.”
Mingyu watches you shake your head, your eyes rolling at his words though you don’t seem to comment on his exact wording, instead you start walking again leading him to follow you. “Or sometimes they never buy them and run off.” Your words bit at the air making Mingyu furrow his brows while rubbing his thumb along the back of your hand slowly.
“And those who choose to do that are fools, in my opinion. Y/N…hey.” You had picked up your pace very slightly and it was clear your footing was growing unsteady. With a gentle tug at your hand Mingyu pulls you back towards him, using his free hand to turn you towards him, running his palm over your cold cheek. “I’m not going anywhere, not unless you tell me to. Understand?”
With your brows knitting together, Mingyu watches you sigh while you look up at him. “I understand.” This time you watch Mingyu’s brows almost touch, while you said you understood and he wanted to believe you he knew he would have to prove it to you in the long run. “Alright…let’s call the car. You are shivering.”

You poured the glasses of wine this time, the satin nightgown reaching your mid-thigh, a black robe covering it only to sway while you made your way back to the living room and Mingyu who had also changed out of his suit. While you knew he was turning on the fireplace you hadn’t expected him to lay out the large blankets in front of it along with pillows, so when you found him there you couldn’t help but to smile a bit. “Oh? This looks nice.”
Mingyu takes in the sight of you in the robe and nightgown, his eyes once again traveling the length of your legs with a sigh before he reaches up to take the wine glasses from you, putting them safely onto the coffee table in front of him. “Your skin was so cold when we got here, I thought this might feel nice. If it’s too warm we can move back to the couch but...honestly it’s pretty comfortable down here.”
You look at his extended hand taking it gingerly allowing him to “help” you onto the soft blankets next to him. The warmth of the fire instantly moves over your body causing you to let out a small happy sound that draws a lingering look from Mingyu. Watching you reach for your glass of wine, Mingyu’s eyes walk over any of your exposed skin while he chews at his bottom lip leaning on his side.
“We will have to get some more wine tomorrow, if we have another glass each that will finish up the bottle I’m afraid.” Nodding Mingyu smiles, daring to reach out his hand to run it over your forearm that was draped over your leg, the tips of his fingers brushing your leg underneath. “We can get more tomorrow. I’ll buy you whatever kind you want.”
You take a sip of your wine, swallowing it down hard when his fingers wrap around yours near your knee. “You are still cold, Y/N.” He wasn’t wrong and your choice of nightgown wasn’t exactly helping to keep you incredibly warm. “Come here?” You can’t help but to smile at his words when Mingyu leans back against the pillows moving his arm so it’s open for you to lay back with him next to the fire.
Your head resting against his arm, you bite at your bottom lip feeling Mingyu’s fingers moving along your skin near your knee. His warm breath is so close to your face that when you dare to look up you aren’t surprised to find his eyes on you but it still makes your cheeks burn. Mingyu can’t stop the smirk from crossing his lips when you shyly look away only for him to lift his hand from your leg to your chin turning your face back towards him.
Mingyu closes the distance pressing his lips to yours gently while his hand moves to yours to take your wine from your hand. He only pulls away from the kiss long enough to sit the glass to the side before his lips reconnect with yours causing you to whine softly into his mouth. Hearing your whine, Mingyu furrows his brows, the feeling of worry rushing over him that he is pushing you too quickly.
You let out another soft whine when Mingyu starts to pull away, his lips just resting against your lips as he speaks. “I said I wouldn’t go too fast. I know we’ve both been drinking tonight so, if you want me to stop I will underst–” Your lips cut off the rest of Mingyu’s words, and he smiles against your lips. His hand finding purchase on your hip, you allow the faintest of moans to leave your mouth into his when Mingyu’s fingers press into your night gown as he tightens his grip on you.
Mingyu’s mind was racing with thoughts even as his hand slid down your leg to the end of your nightgown, his shaky fingers daring to slide along your soft skin causing goosebumps to erupt under his touch. He could feel the way you arched towards him, the way your hand was gripping at his shirt to pull him close. Your tongue gliding along his while he swallowed even the smallest of moans you were allowing him to hear.
When you slide your knee up brushing it between Mingyu’s legs, he furrows his brows groaning almost breathlessly into the kiss before pulling away to rest his forehead against yours. Mingyu smiles at your hushed apologies, his fingers brushing at your warm cheek, he shakes his head. “God, Y/N…don’t apologize. I just…it’s been a long time for me.”
Lifting your gaze to meet him, Mingyu finds your eyes shy but sure. “You are so beautiful. Oh my god…I want to touch you so badly, but I don’t want you to run away from me.” His words made your chest tighten and your stomach flip. Instinctively your thighs push together while Mingyu’s thumb runs along your outer thigh gingerly. “I won’t run away from you, Gyu.”
Mingyu swallows hard, feeling your smaller hand lay over his guiding it along your leg. He wanted so badly to watch where you were leading him but he couldn’t pull his eyes from yours afraid he would miss a moment of your gaze. It’s only when you look away, your eyelids lowering out of nerves, your hands shaking slightly, does Mingyu look down to your hands, licking his lips and trying to keep himself calm. “Whatever you want from me, baby it’s yours.”
Your hand falters for a second at Mingyu’s words, but finally your teeth catch your bottom lip as a breath hitches in your throat. Mingyu’s thumb brushes the center of your panties, your hand dropping to his wrist when you nod, giving him permission to touch you for the first time. “Fuck, okay.”
A breathy moan fills Mingyu’s ears when the back of his fingers run along your inner thigh, his thumb pressing against your slit through your panties. Mingyu has to close his own eyes, feeling his cock twitch in his pajama pants from just how pretty you sound. He wanted nothing more than to see you, taste you, be inside of you, but he also knew he would let you decide when that would happen.
Leaning his head down, Mingyu presses his lips to your jaw, his kisses working their way to your neck and collarbone while your hand tightens around his wrist. His fingers gently caressing your skin while he rubs your clit through the cotton of your underwear until you just can’t handle it anymore, your hips lifting towards his hand. “Hmm Gyu, more…please. You can touch me. Please?”
Burying his nose against the crook of your neck, Mingyu groans as you beg him to touch you. He nods, sliding his fingers upward to push your panties to the side only to groan once again feeling your wet folds against his fingers. “Shit baby, you…” He wanted to have the courage to be more free with what he was saying to you, what he was feeling but that fear of pushing you away hit him like a truck again.
You didn’t seem to notice, instead your own head was on fire with the feeling of Mingyu’s fingers on you. This hadn’t been the plan for the evening. You weren’t sure what the plan had been. You weren’t even sure what the plan for the entire trip had been when it came to this but as you laid under him you couldn’t find yourself upset with how you felt. Yes, it felt like it was too quick, though in reality both you and Mingyu knew it wasn’t.
“Oh…” The softly spoken word slips from your lips, Mingyu’s finger and thumb on either side of your clit. The gentle, building pressure of someone who knew what he was doing and someone who wanted you to feel pleasure was evident in his touch. Mingyu’s lips move along your chest to the top of your breasts carefully testing the waters. When you whine out his name, Mingyu furrows his brows feeling like he is going to lose his mind, his cock leaking almost painfully still trapped in his pants.
“I..I got you. So perfect baby.” Your orgasm was right on the precipice, Mingyu’s middle finger pressing into you when the sound of his phone brought both of you hurdling back to reality. Your hand tightening on Mingyu’s wrist, you close your legs around his hand as you glance at the phone on the table seeing his mother’s face on the screen. “It’s the girls. Oh fuck…we can’t miss the call.”
Cursing, his head against your shoulder, Mingyu’s fingers slide from you while he nods. You whisper an apology, smoothing your nightgown and hair before picking up the phone, answering it away from Mingyu so he could also regain his composure. “Hi girls! You are calling so…late.”

You woke up in the bed alone the next morning, your hand sliding over the bed when you reached for Mingyu only to find a piece of paper where he should be.
‘I went for a run. You looked so peaceful, I couldn’t bring myself to wake you up. I will bring home some breakfast and we can talk a little bit about last night hopefully. - Gyu’
A slight groan slips from your lips at the idea of talking about the previous night, your head was pounding but a quick turn towards the window made you smile. He really had thought about everything, sitting up and reaching for the bottle of water and pain reliever Mingyu had left you knowing you would have a hangover.
Mingyu had woken up earlier than intended. He had found it hard to sleep after the night had been taken from the two of you by the phone call. It of course had not been the girl’s fault, but it had been poor timing. He knew you wouldn’t want to go right back to where the two of you had left off but it had left him wanting and slightly frustrated. So now his feet hit the pavement, sweat dripping from his hairline, as he tried to keep his breath steady listening to the music playing in his ears to keep him motivated.
Around an hour later Mingyu found himself with a bag in his arms, a bottle of water chugged, while he leaned against the elevator making his way back up to you in the apartment. He hoped that you were still asleep or hadn’t been awake too long. He hadn’t meant to leave you for too long, especially when he promised to bring back breakfast.
Pushing the door open with his shoulder, Mingyu balances the bag while kicking off his tennis shoes hoping that if you aren’t awake yet he won’t be the reason. A quick turn of the corner into the kitchen causes Mingyu to stop in his tracks, a smile spreading across his lips when he finds you sitting at the island. Your chin resting on your fist while you look at your phone, the bottle of water he had left for you in front of you.
“Hey baby, have you been waiting for me for a long time?” Your eyes close briefly hearing Mingyu call you baby for the first time since last night. You had wondered if he would, and now the word was sending a fire through your limbs. “Mm, no, not really. Just a few minutes, really only long enough for the medicine you left me to kick in. How was your run?”
You hadn’t told him not to call you baby, Mingyu thinks, letting out a small breath. He sits the bag of food on the counter in front of you moving around to kiss the side of your head. He takes in a deep breath of your scent allowing it to wash over him, calming his nerves even further before he nods gesturing to the food. “Good, I’m glad you slept in. Eat something. That will help your head even more.”
Swallowing hard, you watch Mingyu move from you towards the bedroom. You figured he was going to take a shower, the smell of his cologne and sweat was still lingering in the air though he had tried not to lean against you. Reaching for the bag you pull it open and take out the containers, furrowing your brows. You were hungry but you found yourself almost afraid to eat with how your stomach was twisted up with anticipation knowing Mingyu wanted to talk.
He didn’t take very long in the shower, pulling on a pair of sweatpants. Mingyu opted not to wear a shirt when he came back to find you pushing a piece of egg around the take out container. You were clearly lost in thought, he found himself wishing he could read your mind but also terrified of that idea.
Clearing his throat, Mingyu leaned in from behind you to kiss your cheek again making your eyes widen when you realize you could feel so much of his skin against the back of your arms. When your fork slips from your fingers to land in your food Mingyu can’t help but to laugh, shaking his head. “You okay? You have butter fingers today?”
Your eyes move over his torso for the first time, you had gotten glimpses of him in the time you had known him, and more so on this trip but never fully like this. Now you were letting yourself all but study him like a piece of art in front of you causing Mingyu to tilt his head watching you in return. “Seriously, are you okay?”
“You’re naked.” Another laugh escapes Mingyu’s lips at your words, his hand moving up to push his damp hair from his forehead. “I’m shirtless, does that make you uncomfortable? I just figured since we were just hanging out eating breakfast…I would just be more relaxed.” You shake your head no before nodding right afterwards, your fingers finding your fork amongst your eggs finally.
“I’m not uncomfortable, I’ve just never seen you shirtless before.” Mingyu watches you drag your eyes from him but smirks when you sneak peeks taking a small bite of egg from your fork. “Well, now you have. Are you disappointed?” You shake your head no quickly and enthusiastically, your eyes meeting Mingyu’s only to look away when he smiles at you charmingly.
“I…don’t do that, Mingyu.” Your cheeks burn from embarrassment as he grins at you, lifting his hand Mingyu brushes your hair from your eyes feeling how warm your cheeks have gotten. “Do what, baby?” Shy eyes meet him once again, Mingyu’s thumb rubs a small circle along your cheekbone when you sigh, tilting your head into his touch.
“Make it impossible not to be in…” You falter and Mingyu sucks in a breath stepping closer to you, his hand sliding along your cheek into your hair to tilt your head back so you have to look at him. “Say it, because I’ve been waiting…I’ve been dying to say it for weeks.”
Your eyes start to close out of fear but Mingyu leans down to brush his lips against yours whispering, “Please, just look at me and say it if you mean it.” Your heart tightens and the butterflies in your stomach dance when he pulls back to meet your eyes again waiting. “You make it impossible to not fall in love with you Mingyu.”
Mingyu smiles, his canines catching his bottom lip briefly. Lifting his other hand, he runs it along your neck tilting his head in thought. “As do you, Y/N, and I have fallen. I think you know that though.” A whimper slips from your lips causing Mingyu to step in closer to you, he knew how much it frightened you, he had some ideas of why but he wanted to take away all of those fears when it came to him.
“I love you, Y/N. I won’t hurt you and I won’t leave you. I won’t hurt Mina and I won’t leave her. Those are my promises to you.” Mingyu watches your eyes close, tears collecting on your eyelashes from his words. He hadn’t meant to make you cry, his own heart pounding harder at the sight. “Oh, baby, please don’t cry.”
You weren’t sure how you couldn’t cry hearing those words from him. They were the words you had been dying to hear but they were also the most terrifying words. You wanted to say them back but you couldn’t find enough strength to breathe much less speak. A small sob is the only sound leaving you when Mingyu lets you lean your head against his chest, your hands resting against his back.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you. I…” Mingyu’s voice trails off, you can hear the pain laced in his words only making you hold him tighter. Shaking your head you lean your head back sniffing back tears to meet his eyes. “You didn’t upset me Mingyu. I’m just scared, I’m overwhelmed. I don’t know how to handle any of this. I didn’t expect any of this when I met you.”
Mingyu understood, he never in his life thought he would meet another person who could make him feel like this and turn his world upside down in the best ways possible. “I know, I get that. I feel the same way. We can still take everything slow.” You were appreciative to him for that but you also knew that the glacial pace you had set up between the two of you was building a wall of ice so thick you were afraid it was going to only get thicker if you let it.
“Thank you, just not too slow. Okay?” Mingyu furrows his brows, leaning down to brush his nose against yours then his lips before muttering a simple “okay”. Your fingers were like live wires against his sides and he wanted nothing more than to pick you up and take you straight to bed but the sound of your stomach growling caused Mingyu to smile.
“We still have a few days here, and a lot of daylight. Finish eating your breakfast, okay baby?” You nod as Mingyu leans to press a kiss to your cheek, his fingers gliding from your neck when he steps away to take a breath and pick up his own fork. You watch his hand shake slightly, the eggs barely making it to his mouth even as he smiles the entire time knowing you are watching him.
“Eat, Y/N. We have a few places to go see today if we want to make it to our reservations tonight.”
Tumblr media
You had put on the red dress for dinner tonight, pairing it with a pair of earrings that Mingyu had bought for you. They felt like they cost more than you’d be comfortable spending on jewelry, but the look on his face when he had seen you made it worth it.
“Why do you make it so difficult to keep reservations?” You laugh softly to his words, Mingyu’s lips brushing against the shell of your ear while his fingers trail dangerously low into the deep v cut of the dress. “I’m sorry, if anything you can blame yourself. You bought the dress.”
Mingyu laughs, a soft groan following it, his nails raking against your soft skin when your warm breath hits his neck as you speak. “It has little to do with the dress and everything to do with who is wearing it.” You can only smile, your chin tilted up by Mingyu’s fingers so his lips can meet yours in a gentle kiss so he won’t smear your lipstick too much though he wanted to do so much more.
You found yourself entranced by the man accompanying you to dinner. Though you had been dating him for a few months, it felt fresh that night. His fingers glided along your arm before he dared to reach beneath the table to run that same hand along your knee up towards your thigh with a deep sigh. “We never talked about last night.”
Mingyu watched your eyes fall to the table, your fingers rubbing together around the stem of your wine glass. “I would say we don’t have to but I think we really do. Interruptions are going to happen for us. I think we have to learn how to get past them, they aren’t a sign that something is wrong with what we are doing. I think that is clear with how today is progressing, don’t you agree?”
You tilt your head and swallow hard, considering his words. There was so much you wanted to tell him, so much you wanted to explain about your reactions but the wine just wasn’t enough. “Mm, I don’t disagree. I like where this is going Gyu. Last night was…the first time I have been touched in a long time. It’s scary to feel like this, and I know I said we’d talk about things.”
When you laugh, finally looking up at Mingyu, he smiles, reaching out his free hand to brush his fingers across your cheek lovingly, patiently. “We can talk about them when you are ready. I know you said you’d need some liquid courage. I told you, name your poison.” You nod, biting at your bottom lip, glancing to the side before wrinkling your nose. “Tequila, let’s get some on the way back to the apartment. I’m not saying we will talk about it tonight but that way…it’s there for when I am ready.”
Mingyu laughs while sucking in a breath, his own nose wrinkling to the idea of drinking tequila. “You don’t mess around. Alright, we can do that…whatever you want baby.” When your eyes fall down to the table again Mingyu can’t help but to let his smile falter slightly. “Are you okay?”
Nodding, you laugh a bit sadly trying to keep back fresh tears at how overwhelmed you feel once again. “You just keep making me feel important and calling me baby. I don’t really know how to process it.” Mingyu smiles once again, his fingers moving to slide into your hair so that his thumb can press against your jaw making you look up at him.
“I’m trying to treat you exactly how you deserve to be treated. I am loving you, Y/N.” Mingyu watches you sniff back your tears, how you are unwilling to let your makeup run, causing him to smile at how cute you are. “Yeah, well…someone said gentlemen didn’t exist anymore, Mingyu. They hadn’t met you.”
It was Mingyu’s turn to look down, his cheeks blushing warm, an embarrassed laugh leaving his lips. You wrap your hand around his wrist, lifting his hand to your lips to press a kiss to his palm making Mingyu lift his head to look at you surprised. “I love you, Mingyu.”
Pulling his hand back slightly, Mingyu closes his hand slowly, taking a shaky breath hearing you say that you love him for the first time. A smile spreads across his lips, Mingyu’s eyes finally meeting yours again. “Say it again?”
You laugh, Mingyu pulling you closer to him at the table, his lips pressing to your cheek when you whisper that you love him again. “Mm, god. I love you too. Are you ready to go? I am so ready to get out of here.” Mingyu smiles against your skin when you nod, causing him to pull back to look at you to find you biting at your bottom lip.
“Yeah, let’s get out of here.”

Mingyu holds the bag of alcohol at his side, his other hand resting against the elevator wall while he looks down at you. Your lips slightly smeared from his kisses, he can’t help but to think this is the sexiest he has ever seen you. The red of your lips matching the red of your dress, your fingers clenching at his suit jacket as the numbers count up on the elevator.
You wanted him to keep kissing you. You almost didn’t care if someone caught the two of you in the elevator but the way he was staring at you, studying you, was almost more sensual. It was as if Mingyu was undressing you with his eyes, plotting out his every move, how he was going to have his way with you. The butterflies in your stomach were dancing in circles, you found yourself wishing you had eaten and drank just a little less at dinner because of your nerves.
When the elevator stops at your floor, Mingyu links his fingers with yours leading you towards the room. He is quick to get the door open and discard his shoes letting you do the same while he takes care of the alcohol only to meet you in the hall taking you back into his arms. “Do you want a drink?”
You shake your head no, your forearms resting on his shoulders stepping in closer to Mingyu as he smiles down at you. “No, not right now.” Walking forward, you keep up with Mingyu’s backwards strides towards the bedroom. Your eyes move over his face finally meeting his eyes when he smiles at you softly.
Mingyu watches you carefully when he traces his fingers along your back upwards towards your shoulders and the straps of your dress. He looks for any signs of discomfort or hesitation; instead you shrug your shoulders inwards as he runs his middle fingers under the satin, causing your dress to fall slightly down your body.
With his knees hitting the back of the bed, Mingyu sits down, letting you stand between his legs so he can take in what is happening in front of him. A shaky breath falls from his lips when he lets his eyes drop from your face to your dress, the weight of the fabric resting on his fingers as he guides it down your arms and body.
Your eyes close, your hand reaching out to grab Mingyu’s forearm when you feel his warm breath come close to your chest as your dress pools at your feet. His lips brushing over the lace covering your breast while his hands move to caress your hips. “Gyu…”
It’s only your soft voice that brings Mingyu back, his eyes glancing up at you to find you looking down at him. “Yes?” Mingyu watches a smile spread across your pretty lips, your hand lifting to run across his cheek before you lean down to kiss him taking his breath away like you had so many times before. Only this time felt different, this kiss was different. Mingyu groans softly into your mouth, his hand gripping at your side when your hands slide to his chest up to his shoulders to push at his jacket.
“Off…” The word is practically moaned against his lips, causing Mingyu to furrow his brows together and nod. His hands move from your body, a breathless sound escaping him when he pulls from your kiss to shrug his jacket off, tossing it to the floor. You smile, shaking your head at his enthusiasm, your fingers moving to his tie to loosen it while his own fingers work the buttons of his shirt open much quicker.
“God why did I wear so many clothes?” Mingyu grins when you laugh at his words, his head leaning back to allow you to pull his tie from his collar and drop it to the floor before his shirt quickly follows it. “You are so handsome Mingyu. Oh my god…I wanted to tell you that this morning.” Shaking his head, Mingyu feels his ego inflate and his cheeks burn while he slides his hands around your body towards the clasp of your bra, his lips pressing to your stomach to leave gentle kisses.
Speaking between the kisses, Mingyu sighs against your skin only glancing up when your bra slips from your shoulders so he can lean back removing it from you completely. “I’m a fool for you baby. Holy shit…look at you.” Your face is hot from his words, your fingers moving to brush through his hair while Mingyu leans forward pressing his lips between your breasts, letting your bra slip from his fingers.
You feel your knees go weak from the feeling of his mouth, Mingyu’s soft lips gliding over your flesh as he takes care to not leave a single inch of your breasts untouched. His fingers gently massaging while his tongue laps around a nipple, Mingyu groans, feeling your hand tremble in his hair. He can hear your breath hitch and feel how your body pushes towards him. It’s only when you whine out his name on a breath does Mingyu pull back to look up at you, his brows knitting together.
“Oh baby…you can’t say my name like that.” His words cause you to laugh, Mingyu’s hands sliding along your sides to your hips while he guides you to step out of the pooled fabric at your feet so he can stand up in front of you. Your own hands moving to tug on his belt, Mingyu’s eyes drop to your hands only for him to lean his head back in a silent curse briefly.
As your hands work, you speak softly, feeling Mingyu’s thumbs draw circles on your skin. “Why can’t I say your name like that?” Your eyes glance up bravely, but when you meet Mingyu’s eyes finding him staring at you, an intense look in his eyes, you glance away biting at your bottom lip. “Because you sound needy, and when you need something…I want to give it to you.”
Mingyu’s words cause your hands to falter, his pants undone, you slowly let out a breath when he wraps his hands around your wrists lifting your arms to his chest causing your gaze to follow. “So, why don’t you tell me what you need.” You open your mouth slightly to try to answer Mingyu’s question but find it impossible to speak, one of his hands sliding along the back of your arm to your side while the other moves to your face cupping it lightly.
A smile spreads across Mingyu’s features watching you struggle to think, you were so beautiful, so soft under his hands but he wanted to hear it. He could guess, and in the future he might do that but right now he needed the words more than anything. “Come on beautiful, tell me what you need.”
You walk backwards, letting Mingyu guide you until you feel your legs hit the bed, his hand moving to the back of your head so that as he lowers you to the bed you don’t fall too quickly. “I can’t think straight. I..oh my god, Mingyu, you aren’t real.” Your words cause Mingyu to laugh, his knee resting between your legs hovering over you, a hand back in your hair.
“I’m real, and I’m so fucking in love with you. Tell me that you want me to make love to you and I will. I’ll do it all damn night long if you’ll let me. I’ll worship you in this bed, Y/N.” Mingyu watches you smile, your eyes closing shyly causing you to turn your head to the side only to be stopped by Mingyu. “Ah…don’t be shy with me, not anymore. Please, baby?”
You weren’t sure how you were supposed to be able to do that, just turn off being shy especially when the man of your dreams was saying such incredible things to you. Fear was ever present in your mind, fear that he would leave after all this was done. But one look in his eyes told you that those fears and the man you were afraid he could be wasn’t in the realm of possibility. “I love you, Mingyu.”
Mingyu sees tears in your eyes again, he hadn’t wanted that, he wasn’t sure where that was coming from. You watch his face fall only for you to shake your head whispering, “it’s okay, I’m okay. I’m just really happy.” Your hand slides along Mingyu’s jaw, his lips brushing against yours while you whisper the words, he nods understanding when you finally speak again. “Make love to me, I need you.”
A shiver runs through Mingyu, perhaps because of your words or your touch but either way a breath gets caught in his throat when he nods. Leaning back, Mingyu runs his hand over his head pushing his hair back and takes a breath to calm himself while his eyes scan over your face and body. You were licking your lips, you were waiting for him and he wasn’t going to make you wait much longer.
You watch Mingyu slide from you only for a moment, he kicks his dress pants off, his hands sliding to his briefs causing your breath to shallow. You could see how large he was and all you could think was how long it had been once again but his words bring you back to the present. “I’ll be right back.”
With brows furrowing you watch Mingyu head into the bathroom, the door ajar. The sounds of him rummaging through his bag giving you a moment to breathe while you run your own fingers over your stomach to your underwear when you decide to lift your hips and push them down, taking them off. You weren’t sure if he had wanted to do that but they were becoming uncomfortably sticky with arousal at your anticipation.
Mingyu stood in front of the mirror for a moment, the foil square in his hand while he took a deep breath. He didn’t want to keep you waiting but this was all very real now. Nodding to himself, Mingyu turns back to the door then stops in his tracks when he sees your bottom half exposed to him. “Oh…fuck. I was going to…but this is…” Each time he attempted to try to complete a sentence it was as if his brain misfired making it impossible.
With a few quick strides Mingyu finds himself back at the bed, his eyes moving over your body back up to your face where you look up at him pressing your lips together nervously. “You are perfect. I was just getting this.” Your eyes find the silver square between your fingers causing you to laugh but you know there is time for conversation later, instead you nod and reach for Mingyu.
He didn’t have to be told twice, your hand extended towards him was enough for Mingyu to toss the condom on to the bed and for him to lay back over you, his lips meeting yours gently. When you let out a soft whine into his mouth, feeling his leg meet your bare folds, Mingyu closes his eyes tightly, leaning his head against your forehead, a smile forming on his lips.
“You stay…right here.” Brows furrowing you start to ask where he thought you were going to go and where he was going again but before you have time to ask Mingyu’s lips are back on your skin working kisses down your body. You arch off the bed when he reaches your stomach, your breath quickening because you know where he is going now. “Oh my god…”
He hadn’t even touched you yet and you were already moaning, Mingyu was in heaven. His fingers slid along your thighs when he reached your legs so he could part them. His eyes were having a battle between watching your face and what was in front of him. In the end his breath was taken away by all of you, how wet you were, how much you clearly needed him.
“Fuck baby…you are so pretty. I’m gonna take care of you.” You only manage to nod, your fingers sliding along your stomach finally reaching Mingyu’s hair when he presses a kiss to your inner thigh. The feeling of his fingers parting your folds causing you to moan out his name, Mingyu groans against your skin finally running his lips across your wet slit.
You can’t help but bite at your lips, feeling his tongue sliding between your folds. The warmth of his mouth is almost overwhelming but it doesn’t prepare you for the feeling when Mingyu’s lips wrap around your clit. “Oh fuck, Mingyu.” You feel the need to close your thighs but find it impossible with him between them. Mingyu only smiles slightly, sucking gently at the small bundle of nerves, a groan escaping his lips at the taste of you.
When your fingers tighten in his hair, Mingyu slides one of his hands closer, turning it palm up, his eyes opening finally to watch you as he gently pushes his index finger into your pussy. He is slow and patient, letting your body adjust to the feeling but when you roll your hips towards him, Mingyu furrows his brows. The feeling of your soft walls pulsing around his finger causing his cock to jerk and pre-cum to leak against the front of his briefs.
“Fuck you taste so good.” You can’t help but to whine at Mingyu’s words, your free hand lifting to cover your face out of embarrassment. “Mmm, baby, don’t. I wanna see your face, please?” Your hand slowly lowers, along with your eyes to find Mingyu’s eyes on you. His lips pressing to your mound in a soft kiss as he adds a second finger causing you to moan out his name a bit louder.
“God…you sound like an angel.” Mingyu watches you struggle to keep your eyes on him, his tongue flat against your clit while your hips roll towards his mouth and fingers. A smirk pulling at the corner of his lips, Mingyu turns his attention back to your body completely. You feel the pressure of your orgasm building when his fingers curl upwards and his mouth latches on to your folds, alternating between licking and sucking. He was determined to send you over the edge almost as if he could tell you were right on the precipice.
“Oh…oh Gyu, gonna…” Nodding, Mingyu groans against your folds, pushing his knee into the bed so he could lift his body slightly, and in turn, your hips against his mouth. You had no chance in holding back your orgasm as it hit you in waves, each thrust of his fingers like another shockwave causing your thighs to quiver around Mingyu’s head.
Mingyu lapped at your cum, his fingers gently sliding from you as you came down from your first orgasm. His free hand moving to run along your outer thigh soothingly each time your legs jerked from sensitivity when his tongue would tread too closely to your clit. “Fuck, Gyu…please? Need you.”
Eyes closing at your words, Mingyu groans against your now swollen folds before pulling away to look at you. Your hand sliding along his temple until he is out of your reach, you watch him slide off the side of the bed to push his briefs down his legs. “God…” A single word from you causes Mingyu to laugh, his cheeks burning from how his ego is boosted but also from some embarrassment.
You couldn’t take your eyes off of him, there was so much to take in. From his handsome face, glistening with sweat, his mouth and chin wet with your arousal, to him now being completely naked in front of you. Mingyu watches your breath quicken causing him to furrow his brows wondering what is going on in your mind. “Talk to me…do you still want me?”
A smile spreads across your face when he even has to ask, extending your hand you take his hand into yours pulling him back towards the bed as you speak softly. “More than anything in this world…” Mingyu sighs happily, a smile matching your crossing his face as he hovers over you, his knee resting between your legs. His right hand moved to run along your neck up to your face to cup it in his palm so he could lean down and press his lips to yours almost possessively.
It feels like you are melting into him with the kiss, the way his tongue glides along yours. The feeling of how your thoughts fade into nothing but him. Mingyu groans into the kiss, finally pulling away to reach for the condom. You watch him curiously when he uses his teeth to tear it open. His eyes meeting yours even as he reaches between your bodies to roll the latex over his length letting out a small groan to the feeling.
All Mingyu can think is how this is happening, how you are his and how much he wants this to be perfect for you. His hand slides along your thigh to your knee feeling how your skin erupts with goosebumps under his touch when he pulls your leg up to his hips so he can lay between your legs. “Can I?”
He didn’t have to ask. You smile, reaching up to run your fingers along his cheek, Mingyu leans to press his lips to your palm causing you to let out a small happy sound. Lifting your hips towards him you nod and Mingyu gasps softly feeling you brush against him. “Okay, fuck…god, I love you so much.” The words are almost a whisper on Mingyu’s lips as he pushes into you for the first time, the stretch is intense but the pleasure is even more overwhelming as he takes his time letting you adjust to him.
Raking your nails across his shoulders, you arch your chest towards his feeling Mingyu bottom out in you. You had thought his fingers made you feel full before but there was no comparison to how full you felt with his cock inside of you. A soft gasping moan escapes your lips but Mingyu is quick to catch your lips and the moan swallows it as if someone else might hear you and claim it as their own.
His hand on your leg tightening under your knee, his thrusts steady, slow, and deep making you see stars. Mingyu relishes in the feeling of your nails and fingers on his skin. How you would start to scratch him but quickly seemingly realize and cling to him instead. He makes a mental note to let you know it would be okay in the future to leave marks on him, ones the kids couldn't see and he wonders if you’d be okay with the same.
Pulling from the kiss, you press your head back against the pillows moaning Mingyu’s name. His eyes follow your face, his cock twitching heavily inside of you as he feels you tighten around him almost impossibly tighter. You were getting close to your second orgasm and he wasn’t going to stop until you fell over that edge for him again.
“So good baby. You feel so good. Wanna make you happy.” Mingyu’s words make you smile briefly before your lips fall open in another moan when he hits your spot perfectly and your nails dig into his biceps. “There, there…” You could barely get the word out but Mingyu understood, his hips angle perfectly and your legs begin to tremble when he sends you over the edge for the second time that night.
Feeling you cum around him for the first time, Mingyu groans burying his face against your shoulder, his lips connecting with your soft skin in sucking kisses. He wanted so much to capture the moment and keep it forever but the feeling of his own climax was too overwhelming as it overtook him. He had been trying to keep it at bay for so long that when you clenched around him like you had he lost himself in you.
A soft groan against your chest, Mingyu cums hard into the condom making you gasp as you feel the warm filling up the latex. You find yourself wishing he hadn’t used one but he hadn’t known you were already on birth control and you couldn’t blame him for being so safe the first time.
Running your hand through his hair at the nape of his neck, you try to calm him down while you do the same. Mingyu’s lips brush over your breast before you feel him smile on your skin then hear him groan lightly when he pulls from you shaking his head. “Dear jesus…I don’t think I’ll be able to walk later.”
A laugh slips from your lips, your fingers falling from his when he moves from the bed to take care of the used condom only to turn around and stare at you in wonder. “What?” You laugh out the word making Mingyu grin at you, his fingers sliding along your cheek, his brows furrowing.
“I’m just really fucking lucky and I…really love you.” Your hand wrapping around his wrist you feel your heart beating faster in your chest. Leaning to press your lips to his palm, you close your eyes and smile against his hand. “I love you too, Mingyu.”
Those were the only words he ever needed to hear from you. The only words that mattered. Smiling like a boy in love for the first time, Mingyu laughs softly to himself, his fingers playing with the end of your hair before he pulls away and sighs. “I’m gonna get a drink, do you want anything?” He watches you look up at him for a long moment, something clearly on your mind before you finally sit up slightly in the bed and nod. “Um…yeah, Tequila.”
Your words cause him to pause, Mingyu nods letting out a slow breath realizing what it meant. “Yeah, I can get that.” He leans to kiss you softly once more before picking up his robe, putting it on leaving the room and you alone for a few moments.
Swallowing hard as you look around the room at the scattered clothes, you can feel the empty feeling between your legs knowing he won’t be the only one finding it difficult to walk later. Sighing, you smile and slide from the bed picking up the clothes to place them on the chair, grabbing your own robe, slipping it over your shoulders just as Mingyu comes back into the room.
“I wasn’t sure how much you would want…so I thought, fuck it.” When you laugh seeing two glasses in his hand and the entire bottle of tequila, Mingyu grins at you moving back towards you and the bed watching you climb back on to it. Letting you take the glasses from him, Mingyu sits beside you and tilts the bottle towards the cups, letting the amber liquid fill them halfway.
“Thank you.” Your softly spoken words cause a smile to spread across Mingyu’s lips, his eyes meeting yours after placing the bottle safely on the end table and taking one of the glasses from you. “Of course, I have to warn you. I haven’t had tequila since college. I can’t be held responsible for the bullshit that might come out of my mouth if we drink more than two glasses.”
His playful attitude helps to keep you calm knowing what you are about to talk about. Leaning against his arm, you shake your head and bring your glass to your lips. You take a sip and immediately make a face at the burn you feel going all the way to your chest. Mingyu follows suit cursing under his lips only to take another sip shrugging his lips finding a taste for the alcohol. “Not too bad, pretty smooth actually.”
“You are going to get drunk if you start that.” Smiling, Mingyu leans to kiss the side of your head with a shrug watching you take another small sip. “I’ll be good, besides this is your bottle.” He was right, you had asked for it for a reason. Sighing you nod and furrow your brows, taking a larger drink and making a face. “It is…I know this might be a weird thing to talk about after what just happened but for some reason it also feels like maybe the right time.”
Mingyu nods, he wasn’t going to force you to talk about it but if it felt like the right time, then it was. Meeting his eyes briefly you only chew on your cheek before looking down at your cup tilting it to watch how the liquid slowly moves while you speak. “Mina’s dad and I met when I was pretty young. We dated for a long time so when I got pregnant, we were both surprised but also…I thought happy.”
Your fingers shake slightly but a quick sip of your drink seems to steady your nerves allowing you to continue. “Uh, my mom never liked him. I should have known that we wouldn’t work by that but when you are younger you don’t really want to listen to your parents. So when I told him I was going to have our baby, he was shocked but said he’d take care of us.”
Mingyu watches you carefully, the way your voice goes from strong to shaky. How you take a sip of your drink only for your hand to steady until you reach the bottom of your glass. Leaning to the side to pick up the bottle, Mingyu adds more to your glass making you laugh out a small thank you. Your eyes are barely brave enough to glance up to meet him.
You find yourself afraid of how he might think about you or possibly Mina hearing your story. “I just don’t want you to think poorly of me, Mingyu. I know I was young and stupid…” Hearing your voice break, Mingyu tsks reaching up with his free hand to turn your face towards his, brushing his lips across yours while he speaks.
“I could never think poorly of you. You are the strongest person I know and I don’t even know half the story…what I do know is that you are one hell of a mother.”
Your eyes closing, you push back tears only to nod and pull away from his lips with a laugh. “I didn’t think I would be when he left. I was literally packing the hospital bag. I tried to call him to tell him I was in labor. I was so scared because it was so painful…I didn’t know how to get to the hospital without him. He didn’t even answer the phone. All I got was a text message that said, ‘I can’t do this. I can’t be a dad. I can’t be a husband’.”
Mingyu’s brows furrow, his fist tightening around his cup hearing how your ex had ended the relationship and the situation he had left you in. “I didn’t have the job I currently have. I was a waitress. He was the one with the job, while I waited tables and I was in school. I didn’t even have my car at that time. So I ended up calling my mom and of course she came and got me. She was with me when Mina was born. Mina has never met her dad, I have no idea where he even is. He’s never reached out to even meet her.”
When you laugh lifting your cup to your lips, tears running down your cheeks, Mingyu frowns deeply. He couldn’t understand how any man could do that to someone he was supposed to love and to someone he was having a child with. When you finish the tequila in your glass and reach for the bottle by leaning over Mingyu he shakes his head sitting his own glass down in place of pulling you into his arms.
Feeling you tremble in his arms, Mingyu closes his eyes and holds you close, letting you cry while he tries to stay strong for you. “You weren’t stupid then and you aren’t stupid now, Y/N. You trusted the person you loved and thought that person loved you in return. There is nothing stupid about that. If anyone is a fool it is him for giving you and Mina up, but in a way I’m glad he did.”
You bury your face against his chest, a small sigh on your lips at his words letting him speak. Your fingers brush gently against his side while Mingyu’s fingers work through your hair. “I’m glad because now…I’m the lucky one to have you and Mina in my life. Amy and I are so lucky to get to spend any time we get with you and I know I won’t take that for granted.”
“You aren’t real, Mingyu.” You feel his chest rise in a laugh, Mingyu’s fingers pulling your hair to the side while he leans down to kiss your temple. “I’m real, baby, and you are so fucking strong. Think seriously about everything you just told me. You were in school and you went from that to your career where now you have worked your way up in the company and you have made a life for yourself and Mina. I’m so proud of you…one day, Mina will look back on what you’ve done for her and if she thinks you are her hero now, god just wait for the moment she understands it all.”
Mingyu feels your tears on his chest, he knew it was a mixture of sadness and probably a hundred other emotions when he heard you let out a soft sob. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you cry more.” Shaking your head you laugh leaning back to rest on his shoulder, lifting your hand to push away some of your tears and makeup. “You have no reason to be sorry. I’m not exactly sad, I’m just overwhelmed. I don’t talk about this, about Mina’s dad…but you actually made me feel like I’m okay.”
Smiling softly, Mingyu lifts his hand to wipe away some of your tears. “Because you are, baby. You are more than okay, you are amazing and I love you so much.” You laugh leaning against his touch letting out a shaky breath before meeting his eyes as he gives you a charming grin that causes you to melt. “I love you too, Gyu. Thank you.”

You wake up to the warm feeling of the sun hitting your face. Taking a deep breath you instantly can tell you had too much to drink the night before and you feel the ache in your hips but one glance to your right causes you to smile. Mingyu snores softly, his lips parted just enough to allow some breath to slip though.
Turning on your side, you rest your head against your arm and watch him for a moment taking in how handsome he is in the morning light. The same light that warms your bare back allowing you to take in a calming deep breath. It was your turn to let him sleep in, so as much as you wanted to curl up in his arms you resisted, opting to slide out of bed and tiptoe towards the bathroom closing the door with a small squeak.
Turning on the shower, you let the steam quickly begin to fill the room while you leaned against the counter running your fingers over the places you had been kissed before. Mingyu had left no marks but the effect still lingered. A smile crosses your face as you shiver, your fingers trailing along your neck before you pull your hand away all together in place of turning towards your waiting shower.
With a soft groan, Mingyu wakes up to the sound of distant running water. Reaching his hand out for you, he furrows his brows a pout taking over his lips when he doesn’t find you next to him. He had wanted to pull you against him and bury his face against your hair. He wished you hadn’t gotten up before him but as he woke up Mingyu realized the sound of water was you in the shower.
Leaning up to his elbow, the other hand running over his eyes, Mingyu looks at the bathroom door curiously. His feet hitting the floor a moment later making his way towards the sound and you. “Y/N?” His voice is quiet and gruff from sleep and the amount of alcohol he had consumed the night before so he isn’t surprised when he pushes the door open and you can’t hear him over the water hitting the shower floor.
Mingyu’s eyes walk the distance of your body, how it’s arched while you lean your head back in the stream of water. He knows he probably should let you know he’s there before doing anything else but you are like a magnet and he’s pulled to you so quickly.
You jump, feeling his hands sliding along your stomach when Mingyu joins you in the shower. Your head lifting to look at him surprised only to find him smiling at you, his thumbs rubbing circles along your hips. “Morning, baby. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
Water runs down your face causing Mingyu to lift one of his hands, wiping some of it from your temples to keep it out of your eyes. “Morning, Gyu. I thought you’d sleep a bit longer. Did I wake you up?” You can’t help but to smile at his touch, the one you had been craving since you had woken up but had been afraid to take for your own.
“The water did but it’s okay. The bed was cold without you. I hope you don’t mind that I joined you.” Mingyu watches you shake your head until he steps in closer and you feel his erection brush against your hip causing you to glance down and back up curiously. A smile spreads across your face when Mingyu groans softly wrinkling his nose.
“Ah…well two things. It’s morning and you look so pretty. God especially in the water, it’s running down your body.” You note how his voice almost trembles when his finger traces a droplet of water between your breasts. Your eyes follow his tongue along his lips when Mingyu has to take in a deep breath clearly trying to keep himself calm in case you deny him.
He starts to speak again but your hand wrapping around him stops him before he can start. Mingyu’s fingers grasp on to your sides, a soft breath leaving his lips before he locks his eyes with yours and laughs quietly. “I...want you so fucking much. God, Y/N…”
Twisting your hand you let your thumb press against the underside of his head while your fingernails gently scratch his shaft causing Mingyu’s knees to buckle slightly. “You want me in the shower?” His lips parted, water dripping from his hair, Mingyu whines out a ‘yes’, his left hand moving to grab at your ass lifting you slightly.
“Yes, your hand feels so good but god I wanna be inside you again. I can get a condom…” When Mingyu starts to move from you, your grip tightens slightly around him causing a low groan to fall from his lips. Pre-cum coats your fingers only to be spread back along his thick cock which each stroke of your hand. “I am on the pill, Mingyu. If you want to get a condom because that’s what you want that’s fine but–”
Mingyu’s hand slides along your neck, his head leaning down so his lips can claim yours even as you speak. Your words seem to cause a flip to switch in him, Mingyu’s hand drapes over yours around his cock while he walks you towards the shower wall until your back is flush against it. “Fuck, where do you want me to cum then?”
Mingyu’s mouth drops to your jaw, his hand moving yours over his length slowly waiting for you to answer him. He knew where he wanted to cum but he would do it wherever you wanted him. Your cheeks burn at his question, it had been so long since someone had spoken to you like this. You had gone from 0 to 60 with Mingyu but you didn’t want to slow down.
“Oh my god…I…inside me. I want you inside.” You feel the vibration of the groan against your throat when Mingyu practically growls at your words. He moves your hand from him in place of pinning your hand to the wall next to your head. His eyes meeting yours as you wrap your leg around his hip and feel him press his tip to your entrance before slowly pushing into you.
It felt different than the night before. Not just how he felt inside of you but the intensity of his thrusts, the way his mouth moved over your skin as he tried not to leave a mark causing you to whine his name. Lifting your hand you push his head lower to your breast arching your chest towards him.
Mingyu’s fingers dig into your skin when his mouth latches to the soft skin. You breathe quickening when you feel him make the first mark. Your nails scratching over his scalp when his teeth graze your nipple sending a wave of pleasure through your body. The ripple effect causes you to tighten around his cock, Mingyu squeezing his eyes closed even tighter and feeling his climax building.
“Oh my god, Gyu…more.” His eyes lift to look at you when you beg him for more. He wasn’t sure what you wanted more of but at the same time he wasn’t sure if you even knew. The look on your face was driving him crazy, you were so lost in him.
Your nails finally scratch along lower back to his side, a low groan escaping Mingyu’s lips. He knew that would leave a mark, a smirk on his lips when he latches to your other breast sucking hard at the skin. The sound of your breathy moans fill the shower and Mingyu finds himself falling over the edge sooner than he had anticipated.
His brows furrowing, Mingyu rests his forehead against your shoulder, thrusting up into you hard. His cum begins to drip on to the shower floor beneath the two of you with each movement. “Fuck…you haven’t…” He doesn’t finish his sentence but you smile running your hand over his head shaking your head.
“That’s okay…it’s okay!” You were fine with not finishing but clearly Mingyu wasn’t. His cock slipping from you, he replaces it with his fingers slowly fucking his cum back into you watching your mouth fall open in surprise and pleasure. “Oh my god Mingyu!”
He could feel your walls fluttering around his fingers, angling them he reached for that soft spot curling his fingers inward causing you to cry out his name again. “That’s it…shit. You are so pretty when you cum, sweetheart.”
That wasn’t something someone says in real life, you think to yourself only imagining how you might actually look. Mingyu’s fingers are buried inside of you, his cum mixing with yours before it falls to the shower floor only to be washed away. Your thighs tremble while your hands cling to him, relying on Mingyu completely to keep you standing.
Mingyu captures your lips with his own swallowing your moans, his fingers moving to rub circles around your clit. He slowly lowers your leg to let you lean against him and the shower wall. His free hand holds your body tightly, feeling you begin to shake coming down from your orgasm. “It’s too much…”
Your hand wraps around Mingyu’s wrist prompting him to slide his fingers from between your legs in place of holding your hip. His lips brush yours once more before he smiles, nudging your nose with his own. “You okay?”
Nodding, you laugh a bit tiredly letting him help you move back under the water to wash away the morning. His larger hands move over your body carefully even as you lean against him enjoying the feel of his touch and the warm water. “I’m more than okay, Gyu.”

Over the next day the two of you had found a pattern that you were almost afraid to lose knowing your trip was coming to an end. It was New Year’s Eve and you were wearing the last of the dresses you had packed. A long sleeved, satin green dress that reached the floor. The dress was more revealing than the others, with a deep v that rested at your sternum and a slit that ended at the top of your thigh.
Mingyu had watched you get dressed, your shyness with him all but gone in the passing days. Running a hand over his mouth he moves to run his fingers up your back securing the zipper of your dress before leaning to press his lips to your neck causing you to smile at the feeling of warmth that spreads through your body. “This is my favorite dress.”
A laugh escapes your lips, his hands moving around your body to dance along the v cut of your breasts daringly. “Mm is that so? I was afraid to wear it before. You don’t think it’s too much? I had to put makeup over a few spots on my chest so I could wear it.”
Mingyu’s eyes lift to your fingers adjusting your dress, a small purple spot barely visible under the green satin making his pants already begin to feel tight. “It’s perfect. You are perfect.” He wasn’t sure how he’d let go of you. Not having you in his bed every single night. Linking his fingers with yours Mingyu led you out of the apartment and down to the car and out to one final dinner.
He had put so much care into planning only to find that when it came to the actual moment they set the two of you at your table he couldn’t care less about all his well made plans. Instead Mingyu spent most of the night watching you, listening to you talk, leaning in to feed you or to kiss you. He was finding any reason for the night not to end.
You were almost overwhelmed with how much you had let yourself fall for him. Each brush of his fingers through your hair sent a wave of electricity through your hair and you found yourself wishing there was a way to turn back the time and start the trip over. You wanted the entire trip to be like this. No shy moments, no walls getting in the way. You wanted to get lost in his touch and in his eyes from the first moment.
Mingyu smiles hearing the others in the restaurant begin to count down. Setting the champagne in his hand to the side he instead leans towards you to brush his fingers along your neck, meeting your eyes. Whispering ‘three, two, one…Happy New Year, sweetheart”, Mingyu takes your breath away with a kiss.
You could recall being a child making up foolish ideas of meeting prince charming, sharing a New Year’s Eve kiss that would change your life but you never thought you’d actually have it. Now, your fingers circling Mingyu’s wrist, his tongue gliding along yours while most people in the restaurant cheered celebrating the coming of the new year, the two of you had lost yourselves in one another one again.
Mingyu laughs hearing the sound of the camera pulling from you to look at the man who grins at him offering him a business card and a wink. “You are a stunning couple. That might be my favorite picture of the entire night.”
Your cheeks were on fire, a laugh escaping your lips as the man walked away and Mingyu looked over the card only to pocket it a moment later. His hand finds yours once again to bring your fingers to his lips. “I love you so much, Y/N. I wish this would never end.”
Nodding, you swallow hard wondering how much would really change once the two of you flew home. How much life would take over and how much you could keep going. Mingyu, seeming to sense your anxiety, leans to kiss your cheek then your lips gently before speaking on them. “We will figure all of this out. I’m never letting you go. I’m yours.”

In the month after leaving New York, much had changed for you and Mingyu. You had gone back to your house and he had gone to his. Mina complained daily how much she missed Amy and Mingyu and you felt her pain more than she could even understand.
More effort was put into seeing each other from both sides, be that you staying longer at Mingyu’s house after dinner letting Mina fall asleep in Amy’s bed only to let Mingyu carry her out to the car if that meant you got to savor a few more kisses from him. Mingyu shows up at your work with lunch and flowers, the other girls at your office whispering and begging to know more about him.
It wasn’t until Valentine’s Day when the two of you got another chance to be alone. Mingyu’s mother offered to keep both of the girls so that you could have at least a night to yourselves. You had felt bad about the situation at first but seeing how happy Mina and Amy had been to spend him with her you found it easy to leave them in her capable hands.
Mingyu had worked most of the day on dinner, all of your favorite things already placed on the table when you let yourself back into his house announcing that the girls were settled in just fine at his mother’s. “That’s great, baby. Come here, dinner is going to get cold.”
He wasn’t sure when you had time to change but when you round the corner wearing a pink dress that hit your knees, a sweetheart neckline, and the necklace he had gotten for you draped around your neck Mingyu’s breath is taken away. “What? Do I look ok? I just thought…Valentine’s dinner and all that.”
Shaking his head Mingyu moves to take your hand pulling you towards him lifting his free hand to tilt your head back so his lips can meet yours causing you to smile against his lips. “You look beautiful. I’m the luckiest man alive.”
You laugh into the kiss, your fingers tugging at his cardigan before you let out a soft sigh onto his lips. “You are a charmer, that’s for sure.” Mingyu grins at your words letting you slip from his grasp and move to the table. Your eyes move across the dishes as you shake your head. “You fixed so much food, we will never eat it all.”
“That’s okay, we can save it and eat it with the girls for the next few days. Y/N…” Your attention had been pulled from him and he thought he could wait but after seeing you, it had been impossible. Casually you smile, turning with a small “Hm?” on your lips only to stop in your tracks when you turn to find him on one knee.
Mingyu laughs at your reaction, how you stop and almost stagger against the table grabbing it for traction. Your eyes falling to the baby blue box in his hand first then the pear shaped ring inside of it. “What are you doing? Where did you get that? While we were in New York?”
You were so observant, Mingyu thought to himself, his teeth catching his lip. It had been the exact ring he had been eying when the two of you had stopped in front of the storefront that first date night in New York City. He had loved how your eyes lit up looking at it and he had to see it on your finger. “Yeah, but can I ask the questions for a moment?”
A laugh falls from your lips only to be muffled by your fingers when you bring your hand to your lips. Tears are already slipping along your cheeks while you watch him carefully, unsure of what you were even supposed to do. Mingyu laughs again, shaking his head, taking a deep breath, his own eyes falling to the box before lifting to you once again.
“I was going to wait until after dinner, but I couldn’t. I’m so in love with you and I’m so tired of the back and forth we are having to do right now. I miss you and Mina every second of every day that I’m not with you both. I know that Amy misses you and Mina too…so Y/N Y/L/N will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”
Shaking your head, you cause Mingyu to laugh again, his brows furrowing. “No?” At his question you gasp moving towards him to lean down towards him, a soft sob slipping from your lips.
“What? I…what do you mean no? Of course I will. I just…oh my god Mingyu.” Shaking his head at your words, Mingyu smiles, removing the ring from the box to slide it on to your left hand. His eyes follow yours only for him to reach up as he stands to wipe your tears from your cheeks.
“Don’t cry, baby. I didn’t mean to make you cry.” Your laugh makes Mingyu laugh, his lips brushing against yours until you pull his lips flush against yours. Your left hand grips at the front of his shirt tightly until you pull away completely in shock.
“Oh my god, you asked me to marry you.”
Mingyu’s hands move to cup your face, his thumbs brushing under your eyes, a soft smile on his face. “Yes I did and you said yes. Did you wanna take that back?” When you smile and shake your head no, your hands wrapping around his wrists, Mingyu grins brightly at you. “I love you.”
Closing your eyes tightly, you laugh feeling his lips press to your cheek then your lips before you speak against them. “I love you too, so much, Mingyu.”

She kept saying, “Fresh starts will be good for everyone” “This is good for us.” Any variation that came to mind, Joyce Byers said it aloud to make everyone feel better. It never worked though, all four of you, plus your friends hated the idea of your family moving to the other side of the country.
California was thousands of miles away from everything you grew up loving and hating. Everyone was now a phone call, letter, or five-hour plane ride away. It sucked. So you sulked and held back tears as you packed the last of your room into cardboard boxes.
“I’ll miss you, Mr. Teddy. Nice and soft.” Steve’s voice bounced off your bare walls while hugging a stuffed animal from your childhood.
You sighed dramatically, “Guess that means you’ll mourn his loss more than mine. I get it, bears before girls.” Tapping off your box of clothes.
“Well, me and Mr. Teddy have a history. You wouldn’t understand.” Lovingly petting the plushies head.
You scoffed, “What history? You’ve ‘met’ him two years ago. My grandma gave me him for Hanukkah. When I was four.”
You walked over to Steve, who stared into the doll's cold black eyes, and you felt a pang of jealousy towards the doll. You can leave the bear with Steve and he’ll get to hug it to sleep every night, it’s cotton-filled ears won’t short-circuit whenever Steve says I love you. A stuffed bear will be able to stay with Steve when you can’t and it makes you sad.
“Hey, hey, what’s wrong?” Steve set Mr. Teddy atop your box so his hands could reach out to cup your cheeks. You didn’t realize you had tears falling until Steve was getting blurry and he was knuckling away the waterdrops.
“Baby, what’s wrong?”
“I don’t want to leave. I don’t want to be separated from you.” A blubbering mess as you wrapped your arms tight around Steve's middle, trying to burrow into his yellow sweater.
“It's gonna be okay, baby. We’ll still talk on the phone and I’ll start sending letters and pictures so you aren’t missing out. And I’m gonna save money so I can visit you during the holidays.”
You sniffled your tears as Steve pressed a deep lingering kiss to your hairline. “I love you too much to lose you.
So you're stuck with me one way or another.” And he squeezed you tighter.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
