Do you ship Neji with anyone?
Hehe. I answered this once but I'll definitely talk more on it. I love Shikamaru/Neji, and considering I published fic for them as recently as of 2021 those feelings are still going strong. Generally I prefer my ships to have a little more, er, content, but they captured my imagination so what can I say ...
If my followers will forgive me for getting indulgent for a spell, there's something very charming about how, in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, Neji is keeping up with Shikamaru.
When they're trapped by Jirobo, Neji seems a little surprised by Shikamaru's false surrender, but keeps quiet. Now he's not a loudmouth like Kiba and Naruto, but he's also not shy about speaking his mind. However, between his own observational skills, a likely respect for the command structure, and Choji's words, he doesn't interfere. He's then right in step with Shikamaru and Choji when the plan starts.
Neji then explains that he observed everything Shikamaru did (that the prison recovered from Kiba's attacks at different rates) and why Shikamaru spoke to the enemy and so on. We expect Choji to work well with Shikamaru 'cause they're besties, but Neji was essentially a stranger to them and he's right there with them because he can get why Shikamaru does what Shikamaru does.
When they break free, Neji briefly assumes command to stop Kiba and Naruto from attacking while Shikamaru is busy thinking of another solution. Shikamaru names Neji his second-in-command -- and I know it didn't come up earlier because it wasn't relevant to the story, but in a more Watsonian perspective, it seems like Shikamaru should have done this at mission start. Neji is the shinobi with the most experience there. So did Shikamaru just assume they wouldn't have to split up or he wouldn't die (optimistic) or would he prefer to evaluate someone's leadership potential before trusting the lives of his buddies to them? I'm more inclined to believe the latter.
From all this we gather that they're both intelligent, observant people who quickly gain a mutual respect of each other when asked to work together. I happen to be a big fan of relationships between people who are both strong-willed and opinionated leader types. Yes, they can clash, but so long as they're respectful of each other there's so much potential for an interesting dynamic to explore.
They're also both lowkey people with compatible lowkey hobbies (cloud gazing & bird watching, napping & meditating) who I think could just relax together, though Neji's got a more active personality to keep some of that spark and spice. Neji needs some relaxation in his life ... Shikamaru can be very tender and emotionally intelligent if he feels like it, and Neji could use that too. What does Shikamaru need? Someone who is unafraid to challenge him, haha.
In fact, figuring out what Shikamaru wants (answer: a hardass with a nice smile) is easy because we see it in canon, but what about Neji? That, my friends, is a separate post I will make because I get very sidetracked from just gushing about my little rarepair.
Thank you for the question! ♥ In the end, I stand by my opinion that so long as Neji is getting some love all's fair! I've read or at least seen art of every Neji ship that exists I'm pretty sure … I just want good things for him. ✌️ Also, if you want to talk more specific shippy stuff, feel free to hit me up on my Naruto sideblog @hallwaydodge!

You know how Naruto has an actual legendary beast who killed his parents inside of him that is constantly messing with him around and Sasuke has the voice of his older brother who killed the whole Uchiha clan on his mind constantly pushing him around.
And then Sakura has like,,,, her repressed feelings that are actually strong enough to break the Yamanaka clan jutsu and be considered a second spirit on its own.
Everyone there was dealing with loads of traumas and Sakura's was just the experience of being a bullied pre-teen girl with no nepotism on her side.

Hello Krys~ Sending hugs!! 💕💕 I remember reading one of your old posts about how Ryou Bakura was your muse. I absolutely love the cutie (and wish they gave him a bigger role in the original plot), so I was wondering: Would you ever write a fic centered around Ryou? 👀✨
*returns the hugs* Thank you, Alby!
Ryou was indeed was one of my muses in my baby fandom days, from fic writings to RPs (Yuugi a bit too, but not nearly as much as I did Ryou back then), he's been with me for a good few years. (Even named my very first car after him because I got it on his birthday, September 2nd).
That being said, looking at my ao3 and my dreamwidth account (since that's where I put my stuff before tumblr came along), I haven't really written for Ryou since about 2014-ish? 2016 being about the last time I did anything ygo related when Arc V was airing and Dark Side of Dimensions came out, then moved onto other fandoms (Hello, my new loves Haikyuu and various mobile otomes when I got my first smartphone).
So, best I'll say is that it's unlikely, but not impossible. For a different fandom, I did a fic re-write for a fic I did in 2005 in 2010, like a draw this again challenge, but writing instead of drawing. And fictober is coming up in a few months, so that's also a possibility for a drabble. Ryou might come back for a visit, you never know!
Thanks again for the question!
Writer's Would You Ever...

3, 7, 30? :-)
Weee let's go under the cut etc
3. What ideas come from when you were little
So many.... I'm a fairly nostalgic person (evidently) so a lot of it is influencing me lol
I'm doing less of it now but sea-related fondness had a good grip on my art from like 2015-2018 I'd say and it's still there in the back of my brain.
I love using techniques done in crafts for kids too like with crayons, paper crafts, finger painting, etc. I should do smth with salt paste one day it's so easy to make (and you can lick the salt).
All in all I might be more influenced by my childhood in terms of technique than subjects.
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
Sculpture!!!! I haven't done anything mostly for budget reason (I'm not getting a slab of marble) but I love it... as a texture and volume enthusiast I think I would enjoy it. Again I need to make some salt paste. Outside of visual art though I'm also very admirative of any kind of musical instrument playing... I don't think I would even really like to learn but I sure appreciate it.
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated
You're gonna laugh but I might have to go with those damn sharingan portraits I was making fun of in the previous ask LOL. No one cared abt it and I understand why because they were so self indulgent but still... Although really I picked those bc they didn't have much success but idk if more success would have been warranted...
WAIT my Kaguya piece. The most I've ever thought about composition with which elements should replace the stuff in the original cover... unfortunately it was a lot of reference to filler episodes no one liked. I'm simply so obscure and special.
