#I think I configured my asks to allow others to ask

if someone asks you about how USB!Kinito will act, will you respond as them? :o
My blog isn't really an ask blog like that, but I don't mind doing it for the funnies! Just know, that, I probably won't make USB!Kinito an ask blog anytime soon, as that requires me to answer a lot of asks, and drain a lot of social energy dvd; that I don't always have.. (at least for the time being, we'll see) though I can assure you, if you ask a silly question like; "What will Kinito do if I do this, xyz", I will in a funny way, try to respond! I like bouncing idea's with fellow creators!! I will also add, I am not a roleplaying account ;v;, in case I get an ask about that

"Why I don't write F/F" thread proceeded just as unproductively as I expected. It wasn't about moralizing about the women not writing F/F, it was a question about why personal reasons for avoiding a configuration aren't reflected in opposite directions by other groups. Unlike race, gender has an almost 50/50 split, there's a scale to the proportions not there for other types of identity category. "The femslash police suck" is a factor I can understand. But why wouldn't "personal reasons I just don't feel it towards this configuration" end up an even distribution across the population? The expectation for women to write about women isn't a moral rule, it's that if you allow the logic "men in control of stories write about men (and that's why more mainstream stories center men)", then the flip side is, well, why people clamor for more women behind the camera and in the writers' room. Either accept the logic for both sides or challenge it for both sides. Instead we have the worst of both worlds, we accept it for one side and challenge it for the other. Where's the parallel universe where this imbalance somehow resulted in a different quadrant being the smallest proportion of ships?
--
Why wouldn't "personal reasons" be even? Because the kinds of issues people face based on their demographic aren't.
But I think the larger factor is how socialization affects choice of hobbies and volunteer efforts. Cis men and cis women, on average, go in for different flavors. The dudes tend to be more bothered by the idea of "not getting anything back" for what feels like work. When they do do unpaid labor, it's often the kind that accrues glory and career prospects rather than less showy social ties. Open source coding projects where they can be important, yes. Writing fanfic, no.
Looking up any analysis of volunteering and unpaid work that makes such-and-such a part of society function will get you a lot of discussion of this gendered difference. It's pervasive.
Of course, this is just a broad trend. Plenty of guys do write fanfic, and when they dominate a fanfic space, we see tons of fic focused on the female characters they find attractive, including f/f fic.
And if you're asking about cis gay men specifically... well... again, gendered socialization means that the issues faced by cis lesbians and cis gay men are not equivalent. The reasons and ways that people employ allegory to talk about things "too close to home" will likewise not be exactly the same. Traditional US gay male culture goes in for drag and for an obsession with Hollywood divas and The Golden Girls. Plenty is being mediated through female personas; it's just not translating into fanfic specifically. But most people making "Leave the fujoshi alone" arguments are not thinking about cis gays: they're thinking about people in messier identity categories.
The biggest difference is not behavior but simply that cis men are a small minority on FFN, AO3, and Wattpad, the three big fanfic archives. (Some ancient FFN research found that it was 78% female, and that's the archive known for having more men!) The places with more cis guys are much smaller and don't get talked about as much by most fandom history and fandom meta types from the AO3 side of things.
The reason cis men's taste in favorite characters isn't being "pushed back against" isn't a double standard: it's because:
Cis men simply aren't that relevant to site-wide trends on AO3
and
2. The reverse pattern does happen all the time with vanishingly little m/m and lots of f/f
You sound like you think we'd make this fanfic-specific argument about pro media. In fact, plenty of queer women are open that they produce original f/f but not f/f fanfic or they produce f/f fanworks but not fic. A lot of the "too close to home" arguments are specifically about the kind of id fuel, naked-in-public vibes of AO3-style fanfic. Writing that is less id-driven may not feel that same way. A given woman might have a much easier time writing a mystery novel about a lesbian detective who never gets laid on page than a steamy f/f bodice ripper.
The parallel universe you ask about exists. It's horny imageboards full of fan art of anime girls.
The reason you sound judgmental and are getting "unproductive" responses is that you're phrasing things as though we're refusing to solve a problem. In reality, we're attempting to analyze the situation that exists. It's a descriptive approach.

Twitter Troubles
Summary - Kai has a Twitter problem and it’s just got worse.. (0.6k)
Warnings - Kai having a Twitter problem ^^, kai being a lil drama queen, mentions of murder, not much else tbh
kai parker masterlist other tvd works main masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“No!” You could hear Kai’s bellow from the floor above, and before you knew it and you were on your feet and rushing down the stairs.
He was usually quite composed in your home despite the copious amounts of trauma that he endured, and his reaction to god knows what clearly illustrated that something was not right.
As you came to the kitchen where he had demanded that he was going to cook the both of you an evening supper that you would enjoy, he was stood there, by himself, with nothing but his phone in his hand.
But the heretic appeared outraged, he was screwing his nose up and chewing frustratedly on his bottom lip as he glared hatefully at the screen.
Perhaps he had added the wrong ingredient in the recipe, however it was already heating in the oven, and so you decided to inspect the man closer as you walked towards him, your concern slowly decreasing.
“Is everything okay baby?” You cautiously asked him, brushing your fingertips across his cheek as to avert his gaze to your face. His pupils rolled around in a distorted fashion as he fumbled with his words, uncertain how to put his problem into a sentence, his knuckles tightening around the cellular device, but not hard enough to crush it in his grasp.
“No, uh, it’s really not.” He nonchalantly answered, scoffing when he looked back in his phone, before smacking it down upon the counter beside him and shaking his head.
He was undoubtedly irritated, but despite that fact he made sure to show affection towards you, bringing both of his siphoning hands to your hips, rubbing circles in the flesh he had exposed by slightly rising your shirt.
“You can talk to me Kai, I want to listen. Whatever it is, it can be fixed.” You attempts of reassuring him were futile however, as he brought his head to rest in the crook of your neck as he whispered in your ear.
“It’s not baby. It’s ruined.”
“We can order in if it’s messed up that bad, or I can help you make something else. Or we could go to that new Italian place a few blocks down…” you suggested, however Kai pulled back to look at your face, a confused expression pulling at his features.
“What are you talking about?” He enquired, wanting to ensure that you were both focused on the same subject. It was as though you couldn’t configure how dire the situation was, and he had to make you understand.
“Dinner. What are you talking about?” You replied as though it was there could be no other reason for his annoyed outburst.
“Twitter.” He stated as though it was the most obvious thing in the world, grasping his phone and allowing you unlock it, bringing up the updated page, as he pointed harshly at the screen. “It’s now called X, like it’s so stupidly modern! Why can’t they just leave things the way they are?”
“So… dinners all good?” You wearily enquired, cocking your head to the side as you tried to gouge what the heretic was thinking. However you were no mind reader, but considering Kai’s murderous past, you should have anticipated what he was going to say next.
“I think we should find out where Elon Musk lives and compel him to change it back. I can’t think straight, he’s ruined my life!”
“You want to compel Elon Musk?” You couldn’t help but laugh, to which Kai dedicated an emotionless, stone cold glare in your direction this time. “Okay good luck with that, let me know when dinner is ready, and get on with… avenging Twitter I guess.”

#12, please? I think it would fit Gaz or Alex so well, my favorite soft, sweet boys 💕
Thank you & I’ve loved your other prompts so far!
Prompt #12 - “Can I hold you?”
Thank you so much! And I agree, they’re big softies when it comes to their s/o
Gaz x reader - Safehouse
Tumblr media
With a struggle, Gaz shoves the door to the safehouse shut, panting against its heavy surface.
“Fuckin’ hell.. they could have warned us!” He tossed his crushed radio onto a small table in frustration while you tried to configure yours. Outside, a vicious windstorm was battering the roof, torrential rain making it hard to hear your own thoughts.
“I can’t get a single word, it’s too harsh out there..” You set your own useless radio down, pressing the heel of your palm into your aching temple.
“You alright?”
Gaz’s voice had softened to the tone he used in the confines of your apartment, approaching you gingerly.
“I’m alright.” You affirmed, but still let him hold the sides of your face for a moment as his eyes searched for any injury.
Your relationship was new; only a few weeks ago had you confessed under the dim lighting of the common room, only a few weeks ago did he pull you into a kiss that seemed to seal away any doubt lingering in your mind. He was your partner; the man you’d had a fondness for since the day you met.
The mission’s events seemed to affect him. He stayed by your side as you prepared a sleeping area, insisted he be the one to start the fire, and made sure you had enough to eat before he even opened his MRE. It was almost peaceful for a few minutes after you both got something in your system, before the window panes shook with the wind. You barely had time to take notice before the rain battering the roof sharpened to a dense hail, the noise roaring in your ears.
You didn’t speak for a while as the storm raged, eventually resigning to lay down underneath the worn blanket. Gaz settled beside you, watching the concerning weather for a few moments before speaking.
“Can I hold you?”
It was a soft ask; it didn’t matter to him that you had done it before, all he had ever wanted was for you to be comfortable. But you saw the worry he tried so desperately to hide. He needed to hold you just as much as you needed to be held.
“Of course..” Was the murmur from your lips before you eased off his baseball cap, facing him and tucking your head underneath his. You embraced him gently, running a hand soothingly up and down his back as his arms enveloped you, holding you even closer. You could feel his ragged heartbeat, the lean muscles of his chest and back, his warm palms securing you to the safest place on earth. He was so warm, his breathing soothing you deeply.
And as he was allowed to protect the person he cared for the deepest, Gaz fell asleep faster than he had in months.

⚠️ Old designs and lore // Do not reblog ⚠️
Well folks, this is about as sci fi-fantasy as it gets. People have been asking about humans in Vivere 44, and a bunch of quick sketches turned into a full-on infographic, and now I have no choice but to elaborate. So! humans. (The story is set in the year 2155, and considering the lack of physical forms I suppose post-humans would be a more reasonable term...)
Despite having changed significantly since they left Earth, humans have an established place within the Wider Galactic Community. Most of the essential info is in the image, but I’ll go ahead and slap on extra notes anyways. Long-ish post ahead!
For starters, if you want a more extensive read of humanity’s history in Vivere 44 and how exactly they came to look like that, then head on over to the google doc. Be warned, it gets a little dark at some points.
Although they might look like holograms, the human’s appearance has little to do with light fields. Instead, they are made up of millions of tiny ‘cyber-particles’, which were discovered by the **Angelum **in 2110. Their properties are still being researched, but they are known to be able to host consciousness - which has earned them the nickname ‘mind flecks’. They have been used in computers, AI, and projections, and have only recently been applied to digitized brains.
Through these mind flecks, a human can shape their appearance however they please, however it relies heavily on individual brainpower and how clearly one can visualize an image. For this reason, young children often have difficulty with clear forms and are more inclined to look like vague shapes (or their default form). They learn by mimicking others. Fun fact, It’s also easy for experienced individuals to lose clarity in their form when experiencing strong emotions. Thus, the word ‘distortion’ has been used as a substitute for losing one’s composure.
Unfortunately in spite of their unique shifting abilities, humans have difficulty interacting with the non-digital world. Luckily, the Angelum are known for their expertise in machinery, so together they developed mech suits that allow people to walk around and pick up stuff and whatnot. Some people like the convenience, but others hate the restrictive feeling of the suits and opt for gloves instead (I’ll draw them one day). This embedding of intelligence systems in machines meant jobs like spacecraft intelligence (as opposed to spacecraft artificial intelligence) became quite prevalent among humans.
Humanity’s new configurations also mean that they no longer have the need to eat or drink. Yet, unlike an AI they still need to sleep every now and then. And unlike an AI, humans are not immortal. The particles begin to deteriorate after about 160 years, and at 200 years will have completely disappeared. Still a pretty impressive lifespan. I should also note that once a person’s mind is transferred to cyber-particles, they are stuck like that. No changing hosts or returning to a body.
The first generation of post-humans is still around today, but since then two more have arisen. Artificial chromosomes and a form of gene swapping were developed in the early days allowing humanity to continue its legacy. There is a bit of controversy as to whether these new generations count as ‘true’ humans since they never had an organic body to begin with, but they certainly aren’t robots either. The new generations think, act and live just as the originals did, if not more progressively.
That’s about it for now! This concept has been bouncing around in my head for a while now so I’m glad to finally have the chance to put it somewhere. As always, open to questions!

Thunderbird Green
In many ways, Jeff Tracy often thought, it was his middle son who was the easiest to deal with. The least likely to kick up a fuss, the most likely to calm down an oncoming tantrum.
Which meant that when Virgil decided to dig his heels over something, it was always unexpected, and always difficult for his family to cope with.
But, to be fair, of all the problems, Jeff had envisaged in setting up a top-secret, state-of-the-art rescue service, this one was never on the radar.
“It’s not right!” Virgil was almost in tears staring at the test panels.
“But it’s …”
“It’s not right!” Virgil turned on his hapless elder brother, who really should have had more sense than to protest. “It has to be right!”
“But …” Scott tried again to make his point, before hastily shutting his mouth as Virgil visibly squared up to him.
It was John who headed off the disaster, “It’s okay, Virgil. We understand, we’ll help you get it right,” he soothed, eyeballing his father and other brothers behind Virgil’s back. Daring them to disagree.
None accepted the challenge.
“But you’re tired, Virgil; and hungry, how about we go and get something to eat, yeah? And then you can tell us what’s wrong, and we’ll figure out how to fix it.”
Virgil mumbled something that must have been agreement, because John carefully led his younger brother away, and towards the house.
John was back twenty minutes later, his Grandmother in tow.
“Virgil’s asleep,” she retorted. “Jeff, if you think these boys are going to work the crazy hours you’ve got them working now, you’ve got another think coming, my son.”
“We won’t be building three Thunderbirds in one go again, Mother,” Jeff reasoned.
Sally frowned. “And what about rescues? And maintenance? If you’re not putting any extra staff on …”
This was an old argument. Jeff went to speak, when Brains hesitantly spoke. “N-Ninety-n-nine perc-cent of the m-m-maintenance will b-be comp-pleted by m-me and M-M-MAX.” He gestured his robot assistant, hovering at his heels like a dog.
Personally Jeff wasn’t sure MAX’s new configuration would be up to the work, the ‘head’, where the main computer and visual input sensors were located was the same, and ‘he’ now had a pivoting, stick-like ‘torso’ under, with two ‘arms’ terminating in pinchers, the torso was attached to a small sled on tracks that provided both locomotion, and allowed the robot to carry tools and parts that might be needed.
Sally sighed, “None of you will ever listen to reason, don’t know why I bother trying.” She looked around the hangar, frowning. “So what has Virgil so upset?”
Jeff answered with a sigh of his own, and gestured towards the test panels. “The colour’s not right.”
There was a long moment as they all considered the five panels sitting innocently side by side, propped against a scaffold.
“Are they …?” Sally asked hesitantly, “All different?”
Gordon shrugged. “Virgil says so …”
Eventually the right colour – but still indistinguishable from the other test shades to anyone but Virgil – was found, and Thunderbird Two acquired her final coat of paint.
The exact nature of the colour was a mystery to Jeff, one that he often pondered on the long waits when he didn’t accompany his boys on a rescue, and was waiting for another update. Or quiet moments when he assisted with her maintenance. When he had a sneaky read of the sensationalist tabloid coverage of the activities of International Rescue.
When he was stranded billions of miles from home in the Ort Cloud.
There were days – so many days – when he dreamed of the green of his son’s craft, a desperate link to home. All the other colours were here: the silver of the Zero X, the blue of the twilight light, and his flight suit, yellow and orange lights warning of the failure of systems that would never work again … the red of blood.
Only green was missing. Only green meant home. Meant ‘safe’. And only one shade would do: the green of Thunderbird Two.
It had been an awful rescue. Avalanches always were, but the sheer number of people involved had meant deaths, and that always necessitated down time.
It had taken two days, but Jeff had finally hunted his middle son down from where he was hiding, and had held him as he wept out his grief and guilt and frustrations, before getting him fed and safely asleep in his bed.
It was then, with Gordon ‘helping’, that Jeff finally noticed what Virgil had been wearing.
“I haven’t seen this in years,” Jeff whispered. “I’d thrown it away. How is it here?”
Gordon’s frown intensified. “What’s with the snow jacket?”
“I was wearing it the day …” Jeff’s voice trailed off. He tried again. “It was brought for that holiday … Your mother …” He stared at the jacket. “I couldn’t stand to see it after … the memories were too much.” He stared again. “But I threw it out. I put it in a pile to go on one of the bonfires … I know it did.”
Gordon frowned. “Virgil must have ‘rescued’ it.” Suddenly he stared, something about one of the sleeves caught his eye, it was inside out obviously having been hastily removed and discarded. “Dad …” he reached out and hesitantly touched the fabric, suddenly as reverent as his father.
Suddenly Jeff refocused on the son in front of him. “Gordon? What is it? What’s wrong?”
Gordon smiled suddenly. “Nothing’s wrong.” He laughed relieved, “I hadn’t noticed it before, the outside is faded, but look, Dad!” He held up the turned inside sleeve. “Look familiar?”
Jeff stared, perplexed, “Yes, I recognise the jacket …”
“Recognise the colour?”
Jeff stared blankly at the jacket again, a slow realisation finally dawning. “He was so particular about the colour … It had to be right … Near drove me mad.”
“John asked him about it once, he said it meant ‘safe’,” Gordon said quietly.
“This was the jacket I grabbed when I run out the door to look for them,” Jeff breathed. “This was the jacket I was wearing when I carried Virgil to the ambulance. I had him half jammed inside this jacket to try and warm him up.” Jeff stared in wonder. “It means safe …”
For a long moment they both stared at the jacket. Neither of them knew what the colour was called when the jacket was sold all those years ago, but to them, now, and to the world at large, the colour had one name: Thunderbird Green.
And it meant ‘safe’.
Notes:
The standard disclaimers, I do not own Thunderbirds, either the Original Series, the Movies (both Supermarionation and Live Action), or the Thunderbirds Are Go Series. (Although I do own copies on DVD.)
I do not do this for money, but for my own (in)sanity and entertainment.

WARNING: LONG ASK INCOMING
For hobby electronics there’s two major kinds of processors: Microcomputers and Microcontrollers. Microcomputers are small full computer systems like the Raspberry Pi, they typically run a general-purpose OS (typically some flavor of Linux) and are useful for the kinds of projects that require basically a full computer to function, but not necessarily individual sensors. They’re a great place to start for people who don’t know a whole ton about programming or working with individual components because they typically can output a true GUI to a screen and have the capabilities of a regular desktop computer. They have a main processor, true RAM, and either large on-board storage space or a way to read a storage device, like an SD card.
Microcontrollers are less complicated (component wise) than microcomputers, but as a result are more difficult for total beginners to begin working with. They’re typically primarily a SoC (System on a Chip) processor without discrete RAM modules and a very small EEPROM (on-ship storage space) and need to have components wired and configured to them to be able to do much more than being a fancy calculator. They’re used for when you need something to carry out electronic functions or get sensor readings, but not necessarily a full operating system, so they’re best suited for small/integrated applications. Your helmet uses a microcontroller to control the LEDs you used in the Cunt Machine post.
I build high-power model rockets as a hobby and with my university team, so I work with both kinds of processor as part of designing payload systems. I typically prefer microcontrollers in these as most of what we do doesn’t need an actual OS to run, and they’re smaller/lighter than microcomputers. One of the advantages of a microcontroller is that it runs a Real-Time OS (RTOS) which forgoes all the user-friendliness of things like windows and linux to instead be the bare minimum backend necessary to run code uploaded into the processor.
The main advantage of using a microcontroller is really that they’re typically a lot cheaper than microcomputers are and are plenty powerful for really embedded applications. They also make other parts of whatever system is being built cheaper/easier to integrate because they require less overhead to function - the raspberry pi needs a minimum of 5 volts of power to work, while a chip like an ESP32-PICO can run at 1.8V.
The main way you make sensors/buttons/peripherals work with a microcontroller is via digital communication busses. There’s a few protocols, the most common being I2C, SPI, and UART. I’ll talk about I2C since that’s generally the most common. With I2C each component is assigned a 2-byte “address” that they’re identified by. When the controller sends a request signal on the I2C data bus, every sensor along the line will return their own signal, marked with their address so that they can be identified. It allows for a large number of devices to be put on the same lines and you can daisy-chain them through each other to the microcontroller.
I’ll be honest I really can’t think of a good way to say much more on the subject as like a starting message because I’ve been working with computers so long all the tech stuff for me is second nature, but if you have any questions ask away I can probably answer them or google them.

Hi, this isn't how I wanted to do this, but since the user in question blocked me before I could reply, there is little I can do in this situation. In retrospect I wish I had taken a screenshot earlier so that people could see this user's arguments and concern in their own words and not paraphrased by me. They deserved to be heard.
I felt the need to address this issue like this because it may effect other players and I want a concrete answer on what I thought was not a big issue at the time.
This user came to me with ask above in regarding the name and pronoun configuration in Chapter 1, which allowed player to switch their pronoun and titles now that they are an adult. When I first got the ask, I read it under the assumption that those who wished to play trans MC may not have understood the option of "people address you differently" imply either or both the name change or the change in pronoun/title. This user said that was not the case because they wanted to keep their name and did not like the fact they had to input the same name to switch titles. Instead they suggested to switch the order of the questions asked title first -> name second. Which I thought was a minor contrivance in the grand scheme of things because in the end of the day the player still gets to choose the gender and name of their MC, whether it changed or not.
To which I received a response that I was being transphobic and I was being performative. Perhaps I should have worded my response better, but insulting me this way and leaving before I can understand what the real issue is not conductive to anyone and leaves everyone else hurt and upset. And I'm frustrated because now I still don't know if that part should be changed or not. Or is this is a bigger issue I didn't know existed?
I am not trans so I can not fully understand all the issues that transpeople face or the perspective, but I can empathize and I am always thinking of being inclusive when it comes to customization for the MC so players can play exactly who they want to be. This issue was not brought up during playtesting and no one else came to me with the same issue since the update, so I thought it wasn't egregious enough to warrant change. If this was a problem, then I think more people would come and let me know. Am I missing something??
So I am going to ask players who play trans MCs, did you have an issue with that section (name & title change) and wish it to be changed? If so, how would you like to have it done? And to that user, I know you will not see my response, but I am sorry if you felt attacked, triggered, or hurt with my response. It was never my intention.

C A T for the ask game please hehe 😻
Cat!! My dearest Shrutual <3333
(Im going to answer alphabetically. Also this got so long omg)
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
I do have OTPs :D wolfstar and stucky (also previously: klance but im not into them as much anymore)
I even have a meme for this occasion:
Tumblr media
other ships from the marauders fandom:
wolfstarbucks <333 wolfbucks and prongsfoot are alright too but not in the long run, I think I prefer them as a trio (everyone is there and all is well and everyone is happy. I get sad when R isnt there and im worried about S's whereabouts when he isnt there, so. Trio)
jily - i wouldnt call myself a jily shipper per se, but its also very dear to me <3333. Would choose a fic with them as a supporting ship over alternatives when reading r/s , thats for sure.
james & sirius friendship but also remus & james friendship!!
basically... sirius and remus and sometimes james an lily. in any configuration at this point
(there are other ships I like from hp, mcu and other fandoms but im not into them that much at this very moment)
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
Oh boy. Do I have to choose just one?
Stony.
... Ok that wasnt that hard.
I dont like Tony, I dont care about him, I dont like their relationship we saw in the films (tho i havent read the comics so im judging just the films), Im not into enemies to lovers, there is nothing for me there. zero, zip, nada.
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?
Thats a really hard question bc apart from fighting "mainstream" fanon with canon info i dont think im that invested about most headcanons? so, i will try. i will not elaborate tho.
if sirius was into any muggle subculture it would be punk
black brothers weren't tortured with cruciatus every other day for any minor inconvenience they caused. sirius was abused psychologically and emotionally and until the last second walburga hoped he would come back and take the role of the heir he was supposed to.
regulus wasnt forced into becoming a DE, but he did it bc he wanted to prove himself
alphard was gay and had muggle lover(s)
sirius would become a curse breaker, a social worker, an activist, a mechanic or an engineer or something like that. idk why but i dont like it when he's a healer/doctor. However I can see sirius joining the aurors with james, but i think he would resign not long after finishing training when he realises he cant fix the system from the inside. idk if james would resign tho.
if we assume that the marauders form a pack, its not remus who is the alpha, even while in wolf form
the last one im adding just bc i saw a post about it right before i started answering this ask: the full moon doesnt make remus horny. its a traumatic experience for him and he associates it with everything he fears - pain and loosing control. for a few days before the full he feels sick and weak and he hates everything and sirius has to fight tooth and nail to just get him under a blanket for a cuddle. right after the full he is exhausted and in pain. the further from the full the easier it is to get him in the mood, basically. (i feel like im the only one. at least on this one post every response was the opposite. i read just one ff with a similar thing - where its the new moon that makes werewolves horny.) i am not opposed to remus being horny right after the full tho
las one I just remembered: the hogwarts express has more than two stops. for gods sake. those kids arent travelling to London from Edinburgh just to spend the whole day on the train on the way back. (check out this map) all of the stations have platforms like 3 ⅓, 2 ⅚ and so on of course.

I know you have big akyuurei feelings but I also want to know like every character you might ship akyuu with too 🔍 (but if you also want to talk about why akyuurei's great I'm always all ears too...)
Trying to switch the AkyuuRei brain off for three seconds to answer this because they really are my favourite Touhou ship of all times so if I started talking about them I'd never get to the other ships 😭
I reread Forbidden Scrollery recently. It cemented the fact for me that while there's so many Akyuu/Kosuzu fanworks that I love, it's really one of these ships for me that's more appealing as one-sided (which is a compliment because unrequited love is my favourite type of romance 😅). Lately a configuration that has been on my mind is the "unrequited switcharoo" kind: Kosuzu having feelings for Akyuu for a very long time but Akyuu relegating it to friendship completely and closing herself off to relationships with normal humans due to her curse's nature > Forbidden Scrollery happens and Akyuu realizes Kosuzu is so much more than a fragile fleeting human and allows herself to see her more romantically > unfortunately Kosuzu has already moved on to other things (youkai).
I like stuff that juxtaposes AkyuuRei with YukaRei and I think it could work as a 3-way ship. There's also something interesting about Akyuu/Yukari in general. The Writer/Editor dynamic is something super intimate but the fact that the Editor is the one in power makes it really unique… It's always been my headcanon that when Yukari makes an edit to the Chronicles, it affects the memories of the next reincarnation, so there's an almost psychological horror feel to romancing someone whose memories you can rewrite at will… I don't really see this ship in a healthy and fluffy configuration but if I'm looking for toxicity that's where I would go.
Like I said before I'm interested in the consequences UDoALG could have on the curse of Are. Since while the hierarchy of Hell didn't care too much about Gensokyo Eiki was the one enforcing it, but now that Zanmu's eyes are on Reimu I feel like Akyuu's next death is being put in a completely different spotlight than the one she's used to. I think you could nicely pepper some Akyuu into ZanHisa in that context.
Kind of an older one because I haven't thought about this for a long time but I used to have some Akyuu/Yuuka feelings. They're related to the way fandom talks about Yuuka: I see a lot of discussion that's like "What are Yuuka's REAL powers? Her power is supposed to be flower manipulation but she's also canonically mega dangerous and mega powerful and violent. Truly there has to be something more" but the source of her being extremely dangerous is PMiSS, which is written by Akyuu, who has asked youkai to self-report their threat level. I've always been a "Yuuka is not actually that powerful, she exaggerates her abilities to be feared and left alone in a self-isolating way" truther, and that implies Akyuu having a front-row seat to that kind of self-destructive behaviour. So I'd love to see her react to it.
These are the big four I have thoughts about (well five since ZanHisa/Akyuu would be 3 people). But this is Touhou so you can always come up with more…

uh very much off topic for this blog but I recently rewatched House and I was reminded how much I love Eric/Remy, and now as an adult I saw so much wasted potential with both Foreman/Chase and Remy/Chase, so I had to rectify that with fic. set near the end of s6.
word count: 1121
rating: teen
characters: Eric Foreman, Remy Hadley, Robert Chase
pairings: Eric/Remy/Robert
you can read the fic on ao3 (if you have an account) here. if you don't have an account, the fic is under the read more 😊
Exploring
Robert and Eric are running some scans for a patient. Robert seemingly has something on his mind and after a moment, he turns to Eric. "Would it be okay if I asked Remy out?" Eric is blindsided. "Ummm..." "Look, I figure it's 50/50 she says yes. I'm not looking for anything serious, I figure she's not either. But... do you still have feelings for her?" Eric sighs. "Of course I do. But I royally fucked things up. And I don't think she'd ever consider getting back together with me, so who am I to stop her from exploring other options?" Robert still seems a bit nervous. "You sure? The last thing I want is to make things weird between us." "I mean, I don't expect her to be celibate. And you're allowed to have fun after Cameron. I have no right to tell you not to ask her out." Robert nods. "Okay. Thanks." Eric feels his heart drop into his stomach when he watches Remy and Robert leave work together a few nights later. **** Remy and Eric are staying late one night, trying to decipher Chris' notes again. Bickering about what his notes say leads to a fit of laughter, and next thing they know, they're kissing. It ends much quicker than either of them want as Eric pulls away. "Wait. Aren't you and Chase --" Remy laughs. "It's just casual. We haven't had the discussion of what we are yet." Her hands slide to his thighs. "I'm still allowed to explore with other people if I want." Eric gives her a stern glance. "I don't want to hurt my friend. He's had enough heartbreak." Remy seems a little disappointed, but she nods. "Okay. I'll talk to him tomorrow." **** Eric and Robert are in the lab, waiting for some test results. There's a palpable tension in the air until Robert speaks. "So... I'm okay with you and Remy getting involved again. We're just having some fun, we never made an agreement that the relationship was closed." "Most people don't have to explicitly make that agreement when they decide to continue seeing each other. It's usually assumed." "Well, we both know Remy is a fan of casual sex. I'm also a fan of casual sex. And I know the two of you have a history. Your relationship didn’t end because the feelings went away. In a way, I'm the one who butted in here." "I don't want to mess things up with her again. Or make things weird between you two." "Dude, it's simple. Remy's open to seeing both of us. I don't mind her being involved with you. Do you want to be with her or not?" Silence falls over them as Eric ponders this. He knows he's entering dangerous territory, but he can't deny the relief and excitement he feels when Remy agrees to dinner later that night. **** It gets to the point that Remy spends most nights with one of the two men. Lots of nice dinners and working late and getting drunk at bars. And sex. Lots and lots of really good sex. After a couple months of this new normal, she's at the bar with Robert. Remy's drunk and feeling a little mischievous. Her gaze catches Robert's as she brings the glass to her lips. "Have you ever had a threesome?"
**** Eric stares at the two of them in shock. "A threesome?" Remy laughs. "Group sex is fun!" Robert shrugs. "Having a threesome is on my bucket list. Maybe this configuration wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but honestly this might be better, given I'm already comfortable with both of you." Eric gives Robert a pleading look. "This is crazy! How are we supposed to pretend things are normal if we do this?" Remy purses her lips. "We haven't been badgered about our current arrangement. But if you don't want to do it, we don't have to. I just thought it might be fun to try something with both of my boyfriends." Eric glances between the two of them, feeling butterflies in his stomach. He inhales sharply before he says, "Okay, let's do it." **** Remy giggles as she pulls off her dress and lies down on the bed. "Your turn." Eric and Robert undress. The three of them in their underwear isn't quite as awkward as Eric expected it to be. Remy cups Robert's face and hungrily kisses him. Eric has to admit they look good together. He starts to think that he wouldn't mind watching his best friend fuck the woman he's in love with. But before Eric can seriously ponder what that thought means, Remy pulls away from Robert and grabs Eric's hand, drawing him closer and kissing him with equal fervor. Once the kiss ends, Remy laughs again and she asks, "Who wants me first?" **** Eric and Robert have both had a couple rounds with Remy. She whimpers, "I need a break." Robert lays down beside her, and Remy turns her attention to Eric. She smiles as she says, "Come here." Eric quickly lies on her other side, and he kisses her forehead. Remy sighs contentedly, "I have the best boyfriends." Robert laughs, "I assume that means it's been a good night." Remy nods before she leans in to give him a chaste kiss. "A fantastic night." She turns her head to Eric and kisses him as well. Her thumb rubs circles against Eric's cheek. After a moment, Remy asks, "What about the two of you?" Robert laughs. "Great. Not as exciting as I was hoping for. If it weren't for the voyeuristic aspect, I suspect it'd feel like any other night with you." Eric rolls his eyes. "Sorry that I feel a little out of my depth with the two most sexually adventurous people I know." Remy laughs, and then kisses Eric on the cheek. "That's okay. I get to spend the night with both of you, which was the main goal." Eric smiles. "I'm glad it's been a good night for you." He glances towards Robert. "For both of you." A flash of concern crosses Robert's face. "Are you not enjoying yourself?" Eric appears shocked by the ask. "I never said I wasn’t." Robert eyes him skeptically. “You’re still nervous, aren’t you?”
Eric just stares back at him, not saying anything. Robert shakes his head. “I think you’re still overthinking this. And I have an idea that may help.”
Robert leans over Remy, and gently cups Eric’s face, kissing him. It’s over quickly, and Robert smirks as he asks, “That wasn’t so bad, was it?” Eric seems a little dazed, and pulls Robert in for another kiss, this one more passionate. Once the kiss ends, Eric responds, “No, this is perfect.”

I don't think people are giving Mary and Stede nuance, they're just okay with Stede being a violent misogynist (assaulting Doug for literally not justified reason) because he's gay. Like I know they kissed and made up after because OFMD is a serious romcom and it's fine. Glad they didn't try to fit a serious domestic abuse arc in one episode! But if you want to seriously analyze OFMD through abuse as a lens Stede is deadbeat misogynist who gets away with neglecting his family because he's wealthy and Mary doesn't have equal power to him in their marriage.
i mean i think with respect this is sort of exactly the take i’m responding to right, only for stede-mary instead of izzy-ed. i think — omfd being fundamentally a rom-com aside — that part of what it’s trying to do is complicate the abuser-victim binary by setting up relationships where everyone is hurting everyone. it asks us to think about where harm comes from beyond the actions of individuals.
like to some extent im not even talking about stede’s return much as their earlier life together. stede and mary are both involved in making their marriage miserable — i’m not sure it’s helpful to try and tally respective damages (and im not totally sure that, in the relationship we see in the show, mary is actually subordinate to stede). none of it matters, anyway, because the peace that they get at the end of season 1 is: we were bad together, we can have a different relationship and be mutually happy for each other. my point is that ppl seem to be able to get that far, and then fall into the same trap of trying to sum up the harm izzy and ed have done to each other and figure out who’s on top. nobody’s on top. izzy and ed are mutually harmful because theyre products of the same homophobic-homosocial education about how theyre allowed to be around each other, just like stede and mary’s relationship is a product of a regressive heterosexuality. we’re supposed to read them against each other and hope that izzy and ed can find a new configuration like stede and mary did.
afterthought: i think stede vs doug has a lot more to do with demonstrating that he can’t even pretend to fit in in “polite society” anymore than it does misogyny (if you want to argue it the other way i’d be glad to hear the case but also like. i think sometimes we have to stop treating characters like real people and start thinking about what their purpose is in the narrative, & i dont totally grasp the broader use of that read)
tldr yadda yadda enlightenment imagination of the individual subject yadda yadda protestant ethics married to heteropatriarchy etc etc etc awakening queerness against the social structure i.e. the same stuff im always on

Hi! I found out about your game today thanks to a reblog, and tried it out!
It's an interesting approach to the trope, since most "isekai" of this kind have the MC be killed and reincarnated, while in this case it's the other world's character who died insteand with the MC being transported to take their place. I don't think I've ever seen that configuration before!
Other than that, I can't really say much yet considering we're in early story.
But I'm grateful for the very simple approach to choices and stats. I'ts very intuitive and doesn't make me feel pressured to min-maxing stuff!
That aside, I have two small coding issues to report, as well as a question!
For the bugs or whatever: - I have picked the option "The idea of having a whole empire under your care was, at this moment, crippling" when the MC thinks about the whole empire thing, but the follow up page seems to tell the opposite (with MC being excited): "It would be quite entertaining to be the head of an empire. You imagine lavish parties, champagne flowing out of golden flutes, masquerades and, most importantly, court intrigue! This was all hypothetical, of course, as you still thought it was all some elaborate hoax. Or a social experiment of sorts." - Another one is after going out and meeting someone. When my MC came back to the chambers, I had this: "Yes, going out now would be quite irresponsible. You knew nothing about the customs of this weird place and wouldn’t even know if you did something wrong before they might strung you up and burn you to the steak, if that was a thing, you didn’t know." - it seems to imply he didn't go out at all?
And for the question, it's a bit more complicated... This is something that I have to ask every time I start an isekai themed story. You see, my biggest trigger in fiction as a whole is an isekai story that ends with the MC going back to their home world. This is something that literlly enduces severe panic attacks in me, so I have to be very careful with what I play or read in terms of isekai, and I need to keep myself informed of that aspect of the ending(s)... And so, are you planning on letting us decide if our MC wants to go back or to stay? Or are you planning multiple endings in that regard? I understand if you don't feel comfortable revealing that, but I wanted to assure this is not me fishing for spoilers. It may be the weirdest trigger a person can have, but somehow my brain works that way, it seems. If it wasn't this severe of a trigger I wouldn't ask. If you really can't or don't wish to answer, I will just wait until the story is done, probably, since I can't allow myself to get involved in case the MC going back at the end is unavoidable - but well, I guess it doesn't hurt to ask, right?
Thank you for taking the time to read this! Have a great day!
Glad you like the concept so far! 💕 And yeah, I wanted not to pressure people into making choices just because down the line it gives an outcome they want. Besides some flavored text, most of the important decisions will be choice based, not status based. And thanks for the bugs! I wrote 1 wrong letter and 1 wrong number in each cases :)) Should would well now, only Blythe's route in the tower seemed to be coded wrong for when MC came back to the room. As for MC going back home, it's an option, but not an obligation. MC's motivation for helping/pretending to be Sovereign can be that it helps with the goal to go home throughout the game, and one endgame option is indeed to go home (unrelated to the motivation until then)... but it is not entirely a good ending. I'm basically writing it for pure angst, no matter the romance and the path MC takes until that point😅 The way I have it planned, MC will have 3-5 ending options (with some Good/Evil variables), and one of them will be to go back, but all the rest involve staying. It's definitely not a 'it was all a dream' thing. I think that's my biggest trigger :))

Innerworld Adventure
If I found all the pieces of a shattered alter and put them together like a glass puzzle, would it be the same as before? Some of the pieces are swept into other configurations, but I could make copies or get the guy who can steal them.
I want my friend back. I’m not their dual, but we come from the same story. I’m still stuck in my loop with an npc version of them. It might not be too late. I don’t know if they’d even want to be put back together, they burst because they couldn’t solve a problem they shouldn’t have had to deal with to start.
He was the only person I had contact with for years, since the body was 8. He didn’t like me at first, that’s how we were supposed to be, but within months he started to break away.
Smiling in the reflection, turning a moment too late. They weren’t meant to see me, certainly not speak to me. But they did. At first they spoke as if to themself, but they only asked when I could answer. We did become close.
I still annoyed him, but he stayed. We went to school together for a while, it was going well. Then he got it in his head we could escape, and he tried every dead end for a road out. He stuck himself in front when the police were here. Probably would have died if he hadn’t.
He kept trying to solve our life, and now he’s gone. Too much effort for no reward, I think. I don’t understand why it’s not the same as singlets dying. I never really stopped loving him, and it feels so bleak to live on alone. I don’t need him with me, I need him to exist.
Sometimes there are ghosts. Remnants of alters who shattered, usually the most emotional bits. If I found the spirit, could I put him back together? There are gatekeepers who tell me no, that it’s dangerous and impossible. But I want to try anyway. It’s part of the loop to die for him, so I should make an attempt.
I’ve never stepped so far out of line before. It’s not like the external world, I can’t ask around or use the internet to prepare. I just go, and probably we both disappear. Part of the story. I’ll repeat that, justify it. Of course I’m allowed, it’s part of the story. It’s not so scary, it’s part of the story. It’s part of the story.

Glad to see someone talking about AFO's spies...or rather the weirdness about them. Hori gave two out of five them names (yet not most of the Advisors!!) and really only Tajima is kinda sorta relevant? I kinda wished Mihaela got a mini-showcase to see her Quirk or her efficiency with her bomb. Concerning their fifth member, I looked back and I think they got caught by Tetsutetsu? Maybe? It's hard to see, but I think I see their black hair when he's pinning Cheetah down?
Howdy howdy, @shockersalvage. ^^
Yeah, Horikoshi’s naming decisions in the back half of the story are so completely ridiculous!  Nowhere more so than with the contrast between Kashi Kashiko and Ordinary Woman, but it’s highly visible in the disparity between named AFO goons and named MLA advisors, too.  Mind-boggling that even the ones that directly come up against 1-A kids can’t get so much as a text box identification, much less a line where they actually announce their names or are identified by someone else on-scene.
As to Mihaela,* I agree it would have been nice for her to get anything remotely substantial to do, in that I wished any of them could get anything remotely substantial to do.  To indulge my jadedness about Hori’s gender politics, though, I guess it’s not really surprising that she doesn’t.  I’d say she and Tajima are the latest in a long list of the same pattern: a male character and a female character connected in some fashion, with no reason for one or the other to get the priority as more important for whatever incidental plot element they’re here to fulfill, but the dude gets to do the important stuff while the gal is just—there.
To list some examples off the top of my head:
Kashi Kashiko and his unnamed girlfriend.  The former is the one ShigAFO tries to unload New Order onto, while the latter is just there to give Kashi someone to talk to for two entire pages they exist.
Spinner’s Number 1 and Number 2 advisors.  The gal is higher ranked, which you’d think would be meaningful in some fashion, even if it’s just a matter of her being significantly smarter, but Scarecrow gets three whole instances of calling out to rally his people (even when “his people” are just his two fellow advisors!!) and gets multiple chapters of impassioned demagoguery and internal monologue, while Nimble gets…  To accompany him in crowd scenes and yell one line of ineffective dialogue after Shouji has already successfully begun changing the heteromorph mob’s hearts?
Sticking with the PLF advisors, I could point to a bunch of different configurations that are equally annoying in terms of the dudes getting more attention than their equally-or-higher-ranked peers, but to keep the focus tight, consider the trio of Piercings Dude and the Bindi Ladies, shown grouped together in the big two-page spread of the initial clash of sides at the Villa.  Piercings Dude (a third rank advisor) is the only one of the trio whose quirk we know, thanks to that splashy cliffhanger shot of him attacking Gang Orca.  Grandma Bindi (also a third rank advisor), on the other hand, is never seen again after that spread.  Meanwhile, Big Sis Bindi (second rank!) gets rolled over by Edgeshot in a group shot.  She does a little better than Piercings Dude in that he’s explicitly captured while she explicitly escapes, but her escape hasn’t led to any further attention: she was shown in a shot of the PLF remnants, but has been MIA in the final war arc.
Per the topic of the ask, AFO’s spies.  While none of them are allowed to be markedly more effective than the rest, of the two who get the most focus, and the only two who get names, the one who gets by far the most focus, dialogue, and internal monologue—more of the above than all of the rest of them combined!—is Tajima, the dude.
That’s just kinda spitballing, so there could well be both more examples that support the pattern as well as counter-examples to it, but just based on that, and on how the manga treats its men and women in broader strokes, it’s sadly pretty typical of BNHA that active characters who get focus, attention and decisive action are much more likely to be men, while women are much more likely to be stuck in support roles.
As to Nondescript Dark-Haired Gal, I pulled up the shot you mentioned, and I see what you mean, but unless I’m looking at it wrong, I think the dark splotch is just Tetsutetsu’s knee?
Tumblr media
I parse this as Tetsutetsu having his left knee on the ground, on the outside of Cheetah Dude’s right leg, then Tetsutetsu’s right leg is folded up high and coming down towards Cheetah Dude’s midsection, with Tetsu’s right foot probably planted on the ground right around Cheetah Dude’s groin.  (And if I were CD, I wouldn’t want that knee coming down any harder, either!)
I could be wrong, but my brain’s not connecting the visual dots here in a way that puts the dark-haired lady in Tetsutetsu’s grip.
Tragically, I don’t expect her absence from the scene to really matter at this stage, given that she presumably evacuated U.A. with the rest and is all the way back near the villa at this point, and it’s hard to imagine what she could possibly do that would make a positive or negative impact on AFO’s battle now.
That said, I would be thrilled to have Horikoshi prove me wrong!  By all means, let AFO claw his way out of his encounter with All Might and stagger up to the Shigaraki-Deku fight only to get stabbed in the back at the last possible second because the least prominent member of his spy cadre snuck out of the refugee areas and hid in U.A. before it took off to become a flying coffin.  I don’t know how she would have gotten back out of the sky coffin and down to the Deku vs. Shigaraki fight area, but I’m sure she could be given some quirk that would explain it!
(Thanks as always for the ask; forgive me my High Sarcasm nonsense.)
* And thanks for mentioning their names; I’d forgotten they got them in a volume extra!
