ok, so, hm. yeah, wait.

#1) Tim. He was the first LITG character I was obsessed with and honestly, he is the face of the game for me, it's not a coincidence they keep mentioning him every season. He's iconic and I fear nobody will ever dethrone him. And I will never forgive Fusebox for only letting me have him at the end of the Christmas reunion. WE DESERVE TIM CONTENT.

#2) of course, Bobby. He's my beloved and also another iconic character of the game and super important for the plot. Many might not like him but he's insanely popular for a reason and that's 'cause my boy is charismatic as fuck. I'm Mrs McKenzie afyer all, and I'm happy as it is. Also, name another man that can bake and sing and is warm and nice and cute and funny. Can't? Is cause he's one of a kind.

#3) Chelsea! I see a lot of me in her and I genuinely like her. I've seen some people saying we are "forced" to be friends with her but I felt such a big connection with her while playing it. She's my bra sister for life and I miss being able to develop friendships as I did with her. Also, she's always there for MC and every time I remember her wedding gift I get emotional.

#4) Angie. I've said it before and will repeat it as many times as I have to: her route is the best. I really think it was a good move to make it best friend locked 'cause I could feel our friendship growing with time and turning into something else. She's also the most interesting character we had in a long, long time and I can see why she applied to Love Island.

We do NOT give Jackie Tyler and Mickey Smith their props for their character growth in the Parting of the Ways. Rose is absolutely amazing, an absolute ferocious beacon of hope and stubbornness and bravery in the finale, the absolute reason why the Doctor lives and the world is saved and an equal hero to Nine, but she has a moment of doubt. A moment of hesitancy.

And Mickey Smith and Jackie Tyler step in and help her save the day. Both Mickey and Jackie give up on their idea of Rose and their hatred of the Doctor and help her pull open the TARDIS. Even within this one episode we see them struggle with their feelings and decide to put them aside and help do this because Rose is right- this is a better way of living your life.

Doctor Who is about ordinary people making extraordinary decisions and making themselves extraordinary and this doesn't just apply to official companions (who I love with all my might)- it applies to the people they love, too. We see it over and over again in Davies' era, with Jackie and Mickey and Sylvia and Tish and Wilfred and Francine and Harriet Jones and every one-off character as well, from Lynda-with-a-Y to Jabe to Gwyneth to Novice Hame to McDonnell to Sally to Chantho to Nancy to all the rest.

Doctor Who is at its strongest when the story is focused on the strength of the bleeding, beating heart of humanity (and character in general, in its non-humans), when the characters drive the story, when at the end of the day you understand why, for all of the world's flaws, the Doctor comes back over and over again because of people like this- not just his companions, but the Jackies and Mickeys and all the rest of the world.

What a perfect encapsulation of how one can hurt other's so deeply in the name of love. #The actions we take to 'protect' other's is often the route to doing the most harm. #Love is letting go. homestuck was so perfect for autistic teenagers bc it took characters being sorted into categories and having Attributes to its absolute extreme. forget four hogwarts houses, every character has their associated colour their zodiac sign their associated animal their dream planet their god tier class and aspect their typing quirk their pesterchum handle their weapon their planet of x and y, as well as each of them having a handful of other very quantifiable Personality Traits and Interests (e.g. this one is a clown this one is angry this one likes fashion this one is just rufio from hook for some reason) and THEN they all also have their respective ancestors and dancestors(?)(plucked that word from my memory) who have all of those things as WELL

and god not to mention the fucking quadrant system
