Listening to The Doors's "Waiting for the Sun" album to get familiar with the songs and you know what? "Yes, the River Knows" is such a good song. Slow, almost mesmerizing! It's pure poetry, both in melody and words.
Free fall flow, river flow
On and on it goes
Breath under water 'til the end
Those lyrics, while sung, are just gonna get stuck in your head

remember when annabeth referred to percy as her “friend” in HoH, because nothing, not even “boyfriend,” properly described what he meant to her? do you think the fact that annabeth and percy are each others’ best friend ever confuses people?
like imagine someone, let’s call them ava, is new to the demigod gang and asks percy who his best friend is. to which he would obviously say annabeth. (or vice versa.) and then she sees them interact - laughing their butts off together, making inside jokes, hugging, play fighting, bickering, being affectionate, teasing each other, etc. - and she sees the clear heat behind their eyes and the chemistry between them. and she thinks she is such a good detective and is sooo onto them. then imagine ava going up to the others and saying “guys i can’t be 100% sure, but im pretty confident that there’s something going on between percy and annabeth. and yes i know that they are best friends and all, but i really think there’s some stuff happening behind closed doors.” and everyone just staring at her like she’s a certified idiot until someone says something, likely leo going “no shit sherlock. they’ve been together for like 3 years, so i’d certainly hope there’s some stuff going on behind closed doors”
and i love the thought of it staying that way forever, even when they are all grown and married. imagine annabeth’s coworkers ask her who her best friend is and she points to percy, and he comes over and they’re teasing each other and hip bumping and laughing and just being so funny and cute together, like besties are, and her co-workers think hmm, that husband of hers who she’s mentioned must have some competition, only to then later realize that this guy who’s her best friend IS that husband of hers.
it would have to take the right scenario. because as we’ve seen, percy and annabeth are very PDA. but if they refer to each other as their best friend to someone new, and then aren’t kissing every 5 minutes (a rare occurrence), then i’d bet they might REALLY confuse some people. and the thought makes me giggle

cas would not kiss dean first. dean would also not kiss cas first. this is their tragedy. but a shapeshifter or some kind of monster clone or djinn dream would initiate the first kiss and they would 100% return it. or the real dean and cas would've just simply fallen together somehow like tripped and fell and gravity would bring their mouths together whoops anyway they'd both take it from there - and that's not fate pulling strings it's just dumb luck for these two dumbasses (affectionate)

Thinking about how the plot of season 6 wouldn’t make sense if you do not acknowledge the fact that Cas and Crowley working together was an affair, or at least it felt like so to Dean.
Majority of the people that I heard saying that they disliked that conflict, say that it doesn’t make sense because Dean should’ve understood Cas’ point of view. And that Dean has also worked with demons before, more than once, out of desperation. Which is why he doesn’t have the right to be mad. And I understand that. But it wasn’t about working with demons. No. Not really. The thing that hurt Dean the most about Cas’ choice was how he chose to ask for help from Crowley, instead of him. Cas chose Crowley over him.
“Look me in the eye, and tell me you’re not working with Crowley…”
“You’re in it with him? You and Crowley?? You’re going after purgatory together??? You have, huh? This whole time!”
“No, you had a choice. You just made the wrong one.”
“I was there. Where were you?”
The plot literally doesn’t make sense if you do not acknowledge destiel or crowstiel or deancascrowley. And I think that’s insane, especially for a show from 2005.

“Floyd, could you sing to me?”
The big brother looked up from where he was tucking the blanket under Branch’s feet. “Sure thing,” he said with a light smile. “What would you like to hear? A lullaby?”
“I don’t know,” Branch mumbled as he nestled his head into the pillow. “You choose.”
Floyd could still see a crease of worry between his baby brother’s brows. He softly brushed a thumb over it in a silent reassurance that everything was going to be okay before he turned around to reach for their dad’s old guitar.
I think Floyd would often sing to Branch to get him to fall asleep, usually the songs and lullabies their parents sang when the older four were still little.
I know in the movie it seemed like they all left right after their fight, but I like to imagine that they just stormed off to cool off and that they actually left in the following days. And that this was the last song Floyd sang for Branch that night. :')
Both Sides Now (specifically this cover by Voncken)
Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun
They snow and rain on everyone
So many things I would've done
But clouds got in the way
I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's clouds’ illusions, I recall
I really don't know clouds at all
Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancin' way you feel
When every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way
But now it's just another show
You leave 'em laughin' as you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away
I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions, I recall
I really don't know love at all
Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way
But now my friends, they’re acting strange
They shake their heads, and say I've changed
Well, something's lost, but something's gained
In living life each day
I've looked at life from both sides now
From up and down
And give and take
And win and lose, and still somehow
It's life's illusions, I recall
I really don't know life...
I really don't know life at all

I think more people would realize they like horror (this goes for all genres, horror is simply the one I have the most experience with) if they stopped thinking they had to like every type of horror. The amount of times I've had someone say they don't like horror, only for me to introduce them to horror comedies or creature features or psychological horror etc and watch them delight in it again and again borders on the absurd. Why are people convinced they must enjoy every inch of such a broad, expansive landscape in order to be able to claim some fondness for it? I don't love every poem I read; still, it would never occur to me that that means I must not really like poetry. There are many horror movies I outright dislike and many more I simply don't jive with. That doesn't take away from the fact that it's my favorite genre. I see this the most regarding horror and romance--always interesting to me, the similar ways in which those genres are treated--and in fact I've been guilty of assuming that because I dislike most of the more popular romances, it must mean I don't like romance as a whole. Which, of course, is unfair to the wide range which romance has, a deep ocean which I have and do occasionally find solace in. Still, I've always struggled to say I like it. Why? Romance as a genre has far more to offer than just Harlequin novels and American comedies from the 2000s. Just as there's more to horror than slashers and anatomical queasiness. Nothing wrong with liking or disliking those things, but pretending they are the be all/end all or even the majority of their respective genres means shutting the door on countless opportunities not just of enjoyment but real, genuine love.
