One thing that I’ve been thinking about is a possible route(?) this story could go, and that is Spamton’s trip to the Ambyu-Lances’s office. And boy do I feel bad for the Addisons because it’s gonna be hell on earth for all of em. Spamton has the mentality of a feral cat and this feral cat is going to the vet in the first time in forever. I don’t think Spamton is a big fan of large syringes, and when you have one of those chasing you down because well, look at him. He’s a walking talking corrupted program. If masters his glitches like Survey says, I can totally see him glitching through the doctors to make his grand escape™️. I feel like all the Addisons are gonna have to be here for both moral support, as well as making sure that he doesn’t attack his doctor. (Maybe they’ll sedate him a little? I know that’s what some hospitals do with rowdy-er patients LMAO, but then the Addisons have a whole new problem on their hands because now Spamton is high as a mf kite or something 😭) the last time I was under anesthesia my doctor said I wouldn’t stop laughing until I burst out into uncontrollable sobs and then I immediately blacked out💀
god a trip to the doctors office would be hell in a handbasket for this guy ;v; because he 100% has the energy of a feral cat finally being checked out
though i think once he gets closer to the addisons he'd agree to go, just to see if he can be set back to normal (spoiler alert: he can't cuz fate has handed his ass the bad luck card from square one) but he immediately regrets it and the addisons have to calm him down
them sedating him would probably be the best course of action as to actually get ANY results (because he will bite and attack on instinct hfjkkdjfkks)
though i feel if i were to write an ambyu-lance scene in the future this is how id imagine it would go:

How do you sketch and draw so well?!
I wanna reach your level of skill, are there any tips or videos/guides that helped you a lot?
FIRST OF ALL THANK YOU FOR THE COMPLIMENT?? RAAAAAAWRRRG IT MEANS A LOT
erruh ill try my best ta give advice (although i still feel like i have a lot ta learn) i wrote more than i thought i would so its under the cut ^v^!
ermm i mean im entirely self taught (if it wasnt obvious) so my artist journey has basically been me looking at other artists artstyles, methods of coloring and drawing, etc. and adapting them in my art when i see something i really like.
i used ta watch a lot of speedpaint videos as a kid and those are honestly really helpful for figuring out how artists do specific things. for example: when i was 14 i watched a speedpaint done by an artist i looked upta and noted their use of layer settings ta make certain colors pop and i have used their method ever since! dont be afraid ta experiment and draw inspiration :]
i have watched a lot of videos and followed tutorials on how ta do specific things such as anatomy (lots and lots of anatomy...), shading, perspective, etc. although i mostly look at those when things dont quite look right and i wanna improve. i dont really have any specific recs for tutorials? for me tutorials can be a hit or miss (seems like a 10/90 hit or miss instead of 50/50 sometimes ._.). my most basic advice is ta break things down inta shapes! cubes are the easiest shape for me ta understand so breaking things down like that has helped me a lot! ALSO REFERENCES. USE REFERENCES THEY HELP SOOOO MUCH FORREAL ONG BRAH. DONT BE AFRAID TA TRACE OVER SOMETHING TA FIGURE OUT THE SHAPES IF YOU CANT JUST SEE EM AND PULL EM OUT (but also only do this for practice, dont trace over things and then post em and say they're yours thats theft) AND LOOK AT LIGHTING TOO AND HOW IT TOUCHES CERTAIN OBJECTS DO SOME STUDIES ITS GOOD FOR YA (<- sucks at doing studies b/c he gets bored of doing them really easily)
a note about sketching: something i know a lot of beginners struggle w/is using too many strokes. it happens when you're unsure of a specific thing you're drawing and i do happen ta fall inta this from time ta time, although i try not 2 as much as possible. an example of me on a good sketching day is this rabbittrap i drew:
i use very few strokes here! and am not afraid ta overshoot my lines. compare it ta this drawing i did months ago:
and you can tell i was having trouble in certain parts b/c of the heavy amount of strokes i used. it takes practice but sketching w/out using as many strokes is a surefire way ta make your art seem more dynamic and less ridged and also save time! remember, you dont hafta detail out every last thing in your initial sketch. save that for later!

ahoy there
everything i hear about mark winters makes me want to eat wallpaper and i haven’t even seen the man. i’m tempted to watch prime defenders but teen drama stuff is a hard sell for me so i’m not sure if i should watch it. i’m also not the biggest fan of when the guys go into Super Duper Quirky mode and i don’t know what the tone of prime defenders is so i don’t know if it’s a mix of somber and quirky like riptide or if it leans more heavily into quirky.
my apologies idk what that last sentence was, it got away from me. anyway would you recc prime defenders for an individual of my tastes?
hm. I think there’s definitely some good wallpaper eating content available for all the characters, but it may be a bit too quippy for your taste to get to that part?
There’s definitely a larger absurdist comedic aspect to it than riptide imo, which I think kinda boils down to more the difference in setting and DM (but that’s something I’ll save for another day or if ppl show interest), but the short of it is that it doesn’t take itself very seriously in the moment to moment. I think s2 is also generally more absurdist/comedic than s1, but that might just be recency bias making me misremember.
It’s not that the show can’t be or isn’t as serious as riptide can get, the show has plenty of serious and dramatic moments! But they’re definitely more in the minority and the majority of your runtime with it would likely be the more jokey bits.
Of the drama in PD, I’d actually say little of it is Teen Drama™? Or rather, it’s not the petty kind of teen drama.
If anything, some of the conflict/drama can be fueled by the characters being teens meaning that they’re impulsive and struggle to see the “”bigger picture”” that all the adults around them do— “we’re still Just Kids at the end of the day” and “being let down by the adults around us that are meant to care for us” are both definitely themes running throughout PD, but that’s the closest I can think of for “teen drama”. (well, except William’s jealousy surrounding Vyncent, but that’s played for humor and not actual drama to begin with)
I think that your mileage will definitely vary— because it also kind of depends on your definition of Super Duper Quirky?— but I would recommend giving the public episodes of PD a try. It’ll take you through the first arc, Amalgam island, and should be a good trial run of the vibe without costing any money. It’s not the most accurate, since it’s the beginning and the tone has shifted a bit since, but it’s a good trial— if some of the more powerful emotional beats hit right and you don’t mind the comedy they put on, give it a watch imo!
(Worst case scenario, you could always decide to just engage through the fanbase for PD— it cuts a lot of the comedy bits that make up the base of episodes while highlighting the more dramatic sections)
