So I’ve had an idea strike me for a fic ab female variant of Bucky, and right now it’s ab her ending up in the main timeline and interacting with OG Bucky and Sam

But idk if I wanna continue it that way, bc I’d have to write a plot around it, and I barely know what I’d do to make it into an actual story beyond just the characters all interacting and doing some multiverse talk

So my other option is to write a collection of mini variant!Bucky stories, where each chapter is how his (and her) life played out in different timelines

And idk what I like better

a ramble/confession, and some non-dualism tips

if u seem to already consciously know that ur god AND also think in limiting beliefs, ur not alone. i do it too. it’s way more common than u think.

sometimes we understand a concept and think it’s true, but our egos don’t think in the way that would actually comply with that concept, and that stops us from fully shifting into belief and freeing ourselves from ego. “belief” and “knowing” aren’t always the same thing.

prime example: YOU knowing that ur “desires” r already urs, and then ur ego switching the process completely and being like “so where is it?”. we all know that happens to a lot of ppl in the loa/non-dualism community. the ego is tricky bc its nature is to try and intimidate us. then we slip back into ego-based thinking. happened to me, and is still happening atm. and also i wanna remind ppl that, like healing, awakening to ur true self is often not linear. and that’s totally ok as long as u don’t give up. i was pretty much almost fully realized but then i let my ego get to me again and since then i’ve been trying to get back into that state but just haven’t succeeded at changing my thoughts/improving my self-concept (adhd is making it very difficult).

look. ik it’s kinda weird to have someone post a ramble abt FALTERING at living non-dualism. most of the time, we talk abt the opposite to remind ourselves if our power. but i think it’s important to be open and vulnerable when ur struggling, especially when other ppl could learn from ur struggle.

like i said. not getting i right the first time is OK AND NORMAL. ik ppl say “changing ur self-concept is effortless” but LET’S BE REAL FOR A SEC: that’s not true for everyone, especially neurodivergent/mentally ill ppl, and ppl with intrusive thoughts (i’m all of those, btw), bc our egos r EXTRA spicy.

awakening to ur true self as the god of ur reality is healing, and healing is HARD. in this case, since whatever we are aware of is true, it doesn’t rly have to be, but when u have inner demons, MY GOODNESS IS THIS SHIT DIFFICULT (but still sooo worth it, i promise u).

so good for u if it’s not difficult. really, i’m happy for u. i just also want to bring to light my situation, which is: hearing ppl say “changing ur self-concept is effortless!!” just made it harder to change mine.

I AM NOT TRYING TO SAY ANYONE IS SAYING THESE THINGS MALICIOUSLY. I’M LITERALLY SO HAPPY AND PROUD OF U OMG. i just think that the non-dualism community should be a little more vulnerable, bc FAILING IS NORMAL WHEN TRYING TO CHANGE UR MINDSET, ESPECIALLY FOR PPL LEARNING HOW TO MANAGE NEURODIVERGENCE, MENTALL ILLNESS, TRAUMA, INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY ETC.

AND THAT IS TOTALLY OKAY!!!

i see ppl say things like “i don’t want any limiting beliefs near this page!!!” when limiting beliefs and learning to overcome them r a normal part of this process and should not be shunned, and should rather be met with compassion and understanding. AND SOME PPL DO MEET IT WITH THAT!!! but there r also many who don’t. i understand not wanting to hear ppl’s limiting beliefs in some situations, but not being open to hearing them at all just creates more stigma around being vulnerable abt faltering in this journey and needing some further encouragement or advice. positivity is only good until it becomes toxic positivity. (AGAIN, NOT POINTING FINGERS AT ANY ONE PERSON. I’M TALKING ABT ALL OF US, INCLUDING ME)

my adhd makes it so hard to stick to a new habit long enough to get used to it. and as a result, i have faltered a bit. okay, maybe a little more than a bit. AND THAT IS OKAY. THAT IS NORMAL. THAT IS SOMETHING WE NEED TO TALK ABT MORE.

maybe these stuggles r an “illusion,” but that doesn’t mean we should pretend like we don’t have them. we don’t always have to put on a happy face and go onto tumblr and vaunt to try and fight the intrusive thoughts. if u know anything abt the psychology of intrusive thoughts, FIGHTING THEM DOES NO GOOD. we should accept them and let them be there, knowing that THEY CAN’T HURT US.

even then, they might stress us out. and that’s when we might need to vent. and venting is NOT a bad thing. sometimes it’s the only way i can cool off. but instead of venting into ppl’s inboxes, we should make our own posts, like this one, in constructive language (i suggest writing the angry/anxious stuff first in ur notes, then, when ur calm, rewriting it in a constructive sense and posting it on tumblr). we need more openness to sharing our struggles. mental health struggles r sooo real (even if our human minds r illusions), and we need to make the non-dualism/loa community a safe place to talk abt those struggles and see if anyone can relate, or maybe used to relate and has adivice.

being gentle and open to this conversation is just as important as affirming that we have what we desire. bc, well, if u have the struggle i have, or something similar, u know how difficult it is. hell, i even thought abt going back to loa and trying to get into the void instead of keeping on my non-dualism path bc i thought it would be easier(???) and now i realize that that doesn’t even make sense bc both of these things require improving ur self-concept, which is what i was trying to avoid.

THAT IS LITERALLY AN EXAMPLE OF THE THING I EXPLAINED AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS POST (which was supposed to be the main topic… i rambled a lot. oops.). i knew that i had to change my self-concept no matter what, yet i thought that getting into the void wouldn’t require that. sometimes the thoughts just don’t add up. and it’s bc of the ego! i actually only became aware of that now actually.

THE EGO JUST WANTS TO CONFUSE U AND TAKE CONTROL OF U. i’m just still letting mine have power over me… but now that i’m aware of it, i can try again, this time with a different perspective.

faltering is normal. not being able to change ur thoughts the first time is normal. having this kind of weird cognitive dissonance is NORMAL. THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO NOT GIVE UP, AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER.

you failed to change ur mindset and ended up spiraling? needing a break from trying to change it? i don’t blame u, this stuff is hard. it’s okay tho! what u need to do now (or when ur ready) is: FORGIVE URSELF AND TRY AGAIN. and don’t be afraid to start the conversation of “can anyone relate to this?” or whatever helps u.

we can do this. we can change our thoughts, even with any obstacles we may face, bc we are stronger than our egos. WE’RE GOD, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! we can do ANYTHING.

the first step is knowing that faltering is okay. next is realizing that our knowledge of who we are doesn’t always match our thoughts, and that that is the nature of our brains. the next step is forgiving ourselves and moving on.

hopefully this rant wasn’t too jumbled or confusing, i kinda just wrote it here without any planning lolz. i need to figure out a format.

and i hope some of u could relate to my struggle. be as open as u want in the replies. i will not judge. if u need to make ur own little rant, it’s fine by me.

also, sorry for being gone for a while. i don’t use tumblr very much anymore. i’m slowly falling away from all apps except pinterest, amazon and depop 😅 but dw, i won’t let myself fall too far. i luv tumblr and the non-dualism and loa community has changed my life and opened my mind in so many ways. even if i haven’t succeeded at getting all my desires quite yet, it’s okay. i will succeed. maybe not right away, but i will. and so will u. -whenever its over he always just come over to you and does that gentle little 'hey, hey' before holding ur face in his hands. most times it ends with you resting your head on his lap while he kinda. pets you and reassures you everythings alright and that ur both safe and fine until you feel properly calm enough to go back to ur normal form. he gets a little emo abt it because he genuinely does worry so much abt u pushing yourself too far or someone doing serious damage to you that you couldn't take if you were to shift back

-he gets deimos' and sheriff's 'people who can crush me' thing a lot more after he meets you lol. like. at first you might not be super intimidating but after the first few times he sees you fight?? he's gone. done for. 110%.

-admires u all the time, you'll just be chilling or maybe you're talking to deimos about something and the entire time he's jut off to the side with a little smile on his face. if someone points it out to him he just kinda goes blank and gives some really weak excuse, awkwardly stuck between his normal tough facade and relaxing a little.

-you two are a fucking MENACE when you're put together on missions. you both clear through rooms way too fast its crazy, what the fuck is an agent supposed to do when some half-dragon is charging at it with bared teeth and claws while their boyfriend chokes out one of his co-workers while shooting another. what the fuck.

-also traces ur features a lot but he usually only really does it when he thinks ur asleep. he's a little too embarassed to ask if he can touch them when ur awake so he resigns to very carefully brushing his hands over your tail and horns. (if you have any scratches or dents in your horns though he totally asks about them and the stories behind em, he's just rlly curious abt you in general and like. who in their right mind would pass up an opportunity to hear abt their sick-ass dragon s/o about a possible fight they won???)

-but also he gets nervous whenever you shift too. he's afraid of you getting hurt or the possible emotional tolls that it has on you mentally and he brings it up to you sometime after the first few shifts he sees. he's just real concerned about you :[

-very similar to deimos in how he comforts you, he doesn't like leaving unless you've calmed back down, both because he wants to make sure there's no real wounds on you and because he doesn't wanna risk any other agents seeing you and trying their luck. if you're exhausted afterwards then he'll usually carry you, mumbles little words of assurance and praise to you while he does so

Since rewatching the guardian drama after reading the novel has made me mad about how bad and good both of them are I am Obligated to write out a list of what I think the perfect merger btw both versions of canon are. This will be in list format otherwise I’ll end up writing like 6k words again. 

TLDR: the genre stays as supernatural from the novel and not Sci fi, bc that was rlly not fleshed out well. Shen Wei is a ghost king, and all the dixingren are ghosts or demons like originally intended. The ghost race naturally exists and wasn't born from kunluns shoulder fire or anything. They just exist separate from humans. Not all ghosts are former humans, some people are just born as ghosts, like Shen Wei. Zhao Yunlan has the guardian whip and all the cool stuff that comes with the Guardian order.  Overall, i’d keep the novel’s plot and relationship progression and ending without the backstory. Instead the backstory is a merger of both canons. From the drama I’d keep the characterization and themes as well as like half the extra cases and omit the other half. 

I’ll be elaborating much further on my ideal backstory and other stuff under the cut bc the rest is 1.5k and I don’t wanna clog the dash 

Okay SO In my ideal backstory there are two timelines just like the drama but the mythology of the book. The god Kunlun is actually zyl that went back in time and became a god. But the one that went back isn’t the current Zhao Yunlan. There has to be an original timeline where the god Kunlun never existed. Thus the great seal nor the separation of the three realms don’t exist either. Zhao Yunlan must go back in time to become a god, meet Shen Wei in the past, and create the current timeline where the separation exists but isn’t perfect. The current timeline is the one that the majority of the series takes place in.

In the original timeline, Zhao Yunlan is just some dude living in a world where ghosts, fairies, and all other beings just live in a giant free for all and it's kinda just a mess. 

Like there’s government in modern context and all and all races live with each other but there's constant tension. ZYL works at some equivalent of the SID (same staff and side characters, but novel vers. Lin Jing is a monk, CSZ a zombie, etc) to protect people and all that and their job is rather hard. One day encounters the thousands year old ghost king Wei (who isnt shen wei yet bc zyl gave him that name in the future) who works alone as like a rouge cultivator of sorts. He lives on the surface undercover as a professor still bc he’s trying to not catch Yezun’s attention but does all the stuff he normally does as Heipaoshi. The two ally together for a case and bc they both have the same goals of getting all races to live in peace. At current, there are forces working together to decimate the human race, all lead by Yezun

As they work together they become closer and all that. Shen Wei tells him about how he was unable to prevent the great war 5 thousand years ago and neither could the gods so  he’s spent the past 5 thousand years trying to make up for it. As they search for ways to stop Yezun, they gather the 4 hallows and learn how to use them to manipulate time so ZYL can go into the past and stop the great war and separate the three realms (living, dead, ghost).  Shen Wei wants to go back with him but he can’t because he was alive all those years ago so if he goes back it will create a paradox. ZYL promises he’ll find Shen Wei in the past and create a timeline where they could be together in peace (that is the current timeline)

When goes back he becomes the god kunlun because there needed to be a new god born at the time to prevent the war.  Also this time traveller looked promising to Nuwa, Fuxi, and Shennong. And I know in the guardian universe gods are usually born and ppl don’t become gods. EXCEPT this can happen when a god passes on smth from their body onto them bc that did happen in the novel with Kunlun making shen wei a demigod. And since fu you and ma gui are supposed to be gods Nu Wa and Fuxi I think that when they die, they should make ZYL a god and that's how this stuff happens.

So like ZYL explains to the gods the time he came from and how he wants to save everything and they make him a god and he works to save everything just like he did in the drama but this time with the novel plotline. During this time he meets young Shen Wei (he’s still like a hundred or so years old) and they get close and all the stuff from the backstory happens. He gives him his name, all that good stuff. The entire time doesn’t let him know that he’s from the future or that his real name is ZYL. He just poses as kunlun. 

The two of them alongside the other gods (who still die at the times they do in the novel) work together to end the war and establish the great seal and set up the cycle of reincarnation, per the current timeline. Although the seal and cycle of reincarnation aren’t perfect. Gods can’t reincarnate, and ghosts still don’t have souls. And just like the novel, doing all of this kills ZYL bc it takes a lot of energy to create the seal even though it isn’t perfect.

Shen Wei of course doesn’t want ZYL to die and zyl says it's alright because he fixed the timeline so there must One day they will meet again and ZYL reveals the truth about the timeline to shen wei before he dies. This becomes the promise that Shen Wei mentions to meet again. Before he dies, ZYL gives him the shoulder fire as a memento ( i still like the candy wrapper necklace deal but i’ll take this too. Maybe both.. The pendant is still just rlly cool.. Gay ppl)

Shen Wei knows gods can’t enter the cycle of reincarnation and still makes the deal with Shennong to strip Kunlun of his godhood and let him reincarnate. This sets us into the novel timeline where isn’t allowed to meet any of zyl’s reincarnations before he becomes zyl otherwise he will die and also fuck up the timeline. The same 5 thousand years of pining still ensue bc Gay Ppl and i love making Shen Wei suffer but he doesn’t have the shrine room thing bc i think thats weird and yea.. Bad. 

In the meantime Shen Wei does a lot of things mostly just protecting the great seal and working for Hell to keep the peace but still does other stuff. He still watches out for ZYL’s reincarnations but doesn’t do much besides make sure they don’t die a premature death. They meet again finally at the beginning of the series and the timeline resumes like canon. And that's my master plan that merges both drama logic and novel logic while making a much better timeline. (I hope that makes some sense)

Da Qing is still Kunlun’s pet cat and important. Novel backstory applies to him. And I already mentioned him kinda but as for Yezun (Gui Mian in the novel) his deal is similar as in the drama but just a ghost. And he is a big player in the great war, he thought Shen Wei abandoned him as a kid but they were just separated. Shen Wei doesn’t know it's him till the end of the war and couldn’t stop him in the OG timeline and vows to bring him to justice and make amends. Shen Wei continuously tries to explain things to him but he just won’t listen and is imprisoned in hell bc yk… war criminal stuff and yeah he’s the main antagonist trying to break the great seal bc he’s still made about the past. Idk. Yezun wasn’t well written in the novel OR the drama so like… honestly he just needs to be completely rewritten and I don’t care enough about that. He can just be a weak villain idk

the drama characterization stays the same for everyone else bc found family go brr. However for Lao Chu i… hmm… i think he should still be a zombie but the reason he killed someone should be related to his brother. I like that addition and then shen wei realized his sentence was unjust and exempted him. i like that storyline merger. bc the brother thing and him admiring Heipaoshi was drama only. in the novel lao chu just murdered some kid for a rlly whatever reason.

uhhh in terms of the cases… id make adjustments to most of them. i think the li qian case should be like the drama bc the novel just had her as a murderer and it was boring. 

For the mountain river awl one was fine… novel version was funnier and more interesting action wise tbh… rip zyl and his exorbitant flirting. uhhh the whole reveal that shen wei was the soul reaper thing was kinda… ehh in the novel but i did love the comedy of afterwards Shen Wei pretending he went into cardiac arrest when he actually just… has no pulse bc he's a ghost. 

ID KEEP THE WORTH IT SCENE AND RAIN SCENE… THOSE FUCK SO HARD… I love the drama for adding those every damn day. the novel version of zyl losing his sight sucked and was sooo boring.  Keep the drama version on that.

also id keep dr. cheng. i'm very pro dr. cheng and her friendship with shen wei it adds so much to his character imo. keep the fruit seller man and his wife for the merit brush..omg it adds SO MUCH the way the drama did it.. like the drams build up with the novels pace of that arc.. mwah. it felt like it dragged a bit in the drama but if it went faster and without the hospital ep and with sha ya (sorry sha ya) that would've been so good. tho keep novel version of da qings memory loss and lao li. that was rlly impactful.

id say keep some of the cases like the mirror one, the eyes doctor one, etc. just to like.. yk have more to fill in general.. novel pacing but drama characterization without the bs that wasn't fully realized. and novel ending ofc. And that’s it!!

Ik I don’t really have any followers or anything but I just wanna vent.

So there is this guy in my class. I see him as one of my best friends. I even developed a crush on him. I trusted him with all my heart, with all my scerects and problems. But recently I learnd that he basically hates me. He say that he doesn’t. But recently I’ve learnd some new stuff. Stuff he never told me. I feel so stupid, not only bc he said I am. But also bc how foolish it was of me to trust him.

He tells me it’s all my fault bc of all of my menatsl illnesses basically. I have OCD, depression and a bunch of anxiety dissorders. Also have things like trust issues. He says that I never listen to anything he says. It’s a lie. I always does. But he doesn’t belive me. He also tell me that I’m lying. But he never admits that he lies all the time to me. All he says when I bring it up is that I don’t trust that he’s telling the truth. Even when I have solid evidence. He tells me I’ve made him feel worse. But he has never expressed that before. Untill now. He told about deep secrets I’ve told him, that he promised he wouldn’t tell anyone. But yet he did. The worst thing is that we have to see echother at school tomorrow. I hate the fact that I’m still in love with him. Idk what to do. My trust for people in general is ruined. Idk how I’m make it out if this okay without being meantally scared forever. FIRST: Alternia with a different empress

Name (preferably include how you came up with it and why): Veveni Phobos - Veveni is very loosely based on the word vicious, and Phobos of course is the name of one of the two Gods of fear in Greek mythology. 

Age: 7 Sweeps

Strife Specibus: Whipbladekind - She relies on manipulating from afar, but when she has to get close, she isn’t afraid to use her Urumi.

Fetch Modus: Hue Modus - Objects are sorted by color in stacks, and all items of one color are ejected at once. A… hassle.

Love it. If you wanna go a step further you can make it so it’s sorted in stacks based on blood color, with items that land between suffering weird consequences (only part of the item being ejected, etc.)

Blood color: Purple

Symbol and meaning: It’s meant to represent DNA, and it reflects how she views each caste- as being biologically inferior.

It kind of looks like Gemgo, the yellowblood sign of The Original, with an assignation of Prospit and Space. That, in addition to her colored eyes, gives me an idea…

Special Abilities (if any): She has a mutation that leaves her eyes permanently hued in her blood color. This gives her particularly potent chucklevoodoos, and strangely she finds it hard -not- to use them to get her way.

If you’ll allow me to sell you on this, I feel like this might be a fun idea: Veveni is a goldblood who is clawing her way to the top of the (landdwelling) hemospectrum. You can still endow her with the belief that she is innately biologically superior (as goldbloods apparently think of themselves as the smartest person in the room). She can pass her oddly-colored eyes off as a fortunate mutation that means her chucklevoodoos manifest physically rather than as a hypnotic gaze.

Lusus:  A small horselike creature with four eyes and tightly curled arm horns. ((loose reference to the four horsemen of the apocalypse

…arm…horns…WHAT ARE ARM HORNS. Wait does this horse. Does this horse have horns that look like flexing arms. I love it. If you wanna keep her a purpleblood you want them to be a seadwelling mammal so maybe keep that but make her a mermicorn. If you want to go with my idea that she’s a social climbing goldblood…(ʘ‿ʘ✿) she may have to kill or abandon her lusus to keep her cover.

Personality:  It’s easily said that, among her friends, Veveni sticks out as probably the most vicious. She was praised by the cult for her potent abilities from a young age, and since torturing lowbloods equalled respect for her, it was no surprise as ‘incidents’ of harmed or worse trolls pointed more frequently in her direction. At her current age, she’s more interested in writing about such things as lowbloods have long since steered clear of her direction, but she still makes a habit of terrorizing her less fortunate friend’s dreams particularly. Not that they know it’s her. Outwardly towards them she’s extremely laid back, almost tired, but when a situation calls for it she has very fast reflexes.

I think this is actually a good sell for her being a goldblood because purplebloods are supposedly EXTREMELY driven and will stop at nothing until they reach their goal, however whimsical it may be. Goldbloods, on the other hand, apparently tend more towards boom-and-bust cycles of showing off and then wearing themselves out. This is especially relevant since a bloodthirsty purpleblood would likely have their eye on being made a subjugglator to come in contact with yet more rebellious lowbloods, and this does not seem to be the case for her.

I’m also just a fan of this rework because having potent psychic abilities with no check risks making her overpowered; this reimagining would give her the hidden weakness of being psychically susceptible (though if she’s successfully infiltrated the subjugglator cult then it’s unlikely anyone would suspect as much).

Title: Heir of Blood

I don’t know that that title even fits your original character? I mean she’s definitely Prospit but I don’t know that her character has much to do with loyalty…given that she often heralds others’ death, you may want to give her Maid of Doom? Which would make her a Caprimino.

I am aware enough of my own biases to know that I’m trying to shoehorn her into a Space role so I can retroactively justify the narrative thread I’ve woven here, but…I feel like I can make an argument for Prince of Space. With the new backstory, she’s literally destroyed others in order to carve out a space for herself in the hemospectrum. Much as Dirk’s destruction of the self was tied intimately to his self-involvedness, Veveni’s destruction of spaces can lay in her own scrabble for purchase.

Land: Land of Drought and Lemonade [LODAL]

If you want her to be a Doom purpleblood flip those two (LOLAD) and you’re GOOD. Her quest could be to fix the draught (because right now all the poor consorts have to drink is lemonade).

If you want to go with the Space goldblood It’s pretty easy just go Land of Lemonade and Frogs (LOLAF). The lemonade would also be great bc it would remind her of her lowblood status much as Karkat felt his planet was mocking him for his mutant blood.

Dream Planet: Prospit

So. I got a little carried away with multiple sprites (for which fan-troll gets most of the credit for bases), but I promise I have my reasoning. From left to right, these are: a sprite based off your original drawing (surrounded by assorted symbols depending on if you want to modify the existing one or pick one of the two canon EZ ones if she was truly a purpleblood), the yellowblood version, a hypothetical transitional stage in which she is waiting for her hair to grow long enough to cover her second pair of horns while quietly swapping out clothing that would identify her “true” blood color (using an edited sprite from naphal), and her Final Form as a subjugglator.

This if for if you want to keep her a purpleblood because tbh she doesn’t need to have a mutation to be exceptionally powerful; we’ve already seen that purplebloods can be bloody-minded in every possible way. Let’s go top to bottom.

Horns - I wanted to make them mimic the hourglass shape inherent to both your created symbol and to the goldblood one I assigned her; this just meant making them symmetrical to look like the bottom half. The teeny tiny second set is eventually covered with hair to successully complete her transformation into a purpleblood.

Hair - It’s just the hair you gave her. I couldn’t tell what you wanted the bangs to look like so I tried my best to make it look dynamic.

Eyes - I followed your design cue and gave her two lashes on the bottom outer corners of her eyes. Her redesign just uses one full color for each eye in keeping with goldblood design.

Mouth - both goldbloods and purplebloods tend to be toothy castes, so I gave her some teef.

Symbol - like I said, I gave her Gemgo, The Original, as a starter sign. The fake one she’s got at the end is Caprilo, which I initially picked just bc it looked like a coiled Urumi but is the sign of The Multifaceted. It tickled me, especially because it’s a Heart sign and she is very much using it to disguise her Self.

Outfit - most of these are just palette-swaps of your original outfit for variety, but I wanted to address the final one. If we look at the spread of purplebloods we have so far, even Gamzee, the soberest one (ha!), has an outfit that noticeably diverges from his peers’ in that it uses a polka-dot patterned pajama pant where even Feferi still uses colorblocking. The shirt and shorts seemed a bit tame for that, so I gave her a tutu and extended her boots out to look like clown shoes. Based on the purplebloods we’ve seen so far, bright yellow is a relatively common accent color, so I added that to the tongue of her boots and gave them a gold underlining as a nod to her original blood color.

So that concludes my review of Veveni! I’m a fan tbh.
