Prowl x Starscream
Words: 1950
Fluff and fluff and fluff and fluff-
Just two lovers being soft and yearning, what more could a writer and pair ask for?
———
Starscream had to remind himself to be careful. To not ravage the smaller bot in his claws that was lovingly cradling his helm.
Abandoned warehouses. Starscream was continually reminded to be thankful for them. Providing shelter and secrecy from the outside world as he initiated this wonderful ritual of passion.
A Cyber Ninja and a Decepticon. Who could've guessed?
Not Prowl or Starscream.
But neither cared as Prowl carefully traced Starscream's crest and helm ridges, pressing harsh kisses to his faceplates as the flier held him gently. Prowl could feel his claws twitch around his waist, low chirps and purrs erupting from Starscream in short bursts.
The seeker pulled him closer, drawing his legs closer to effectively trap him against his frame. Not that he had to, he just wanted the smaller mech closer.
With a content sigh, Starscream let his optics offline, wings twitching as he relaxed into the feather light touches. Affection like this was new. Affection like this was wonderful. Affection like this deserved to be guarded.
And guard the small ninjabot he would. He shall.
A low primitive growl escaped his vox as he rumbled softly at the thought, optics onlining to watch his smaller counterpart pause to give him a curious look.
He shifted, moving to press a light kiss of his own to the small helm, his engine whining as he did. Prowl hummed, tipping his helm back to lightly brush their dreams together as Starscream let out another content vent. His wings happily flicked and fluttered at the contact, the flier wanting nothing more than to kiss him. But he'd wait. Patience, Prowl continuously talked about. It was important to him. And Starscream would wait as long as it took.
Unfortunately, his systems disagreed, shrieking to roughly handle the smaller mech and do as he pleased. Prowl was his after all, there wasn't any reason not to! But still he waited. Patiently. Starscream could be patient for him.
"... Tell me what you're thinking," Prowl softly whispered, cupping his faceplates and pressing a kiss to the ridge of his olfactory sensor.
A low hum escaped Starscream as he considered his response carefully. There were many things he was thinking of. All of them revolving around Prowl.
Finally deciding on the most prominent on his processor, he quietly responded while leaning closer, “I’m thinking of you. A kiss.”
“A kiss?” Prowl’s derma curled into a teasing smile, “I’ve been kissing you this whole time!”
The two wheeler chuckled at the look Starscream made at him, a smile of his own forming as he rolled his optics, “Didn’t know you could make jokes like that… no. A kiss.”
“Ah…” Finally relenting, Prowl chuckled as he carefully pulled his helm closer, tilting his own to properly fit their lips together.
Starscream’s engines roared happily at the kiss, his self control straining as he deepened it and listened to the pleased moan Prowl made at the action. His grip tightened around the black and gold mech, a clawed servo coming up to carefully cradle the smaller’s helm and pull him more against him.
He could hear Prowl’s engine too, the revving of his inner machinery at his touch and actions. He could also hear his cooling fans…
Not that that mattered, Starscream’s had been blasting for the last half-cycle…
A light tap from Prowl let him know to break the kiss, as much as he wanted to continue their contact. Starscream pulled away with an impatient glare, inquisitive and gentle as it was, huffing as Prowl tilted his helm and looked slightly to the side, visor narrowing.
This tipped Starscream off that there was something wrong… He tilted his helm as well, a light chirp leaving his vox as he intently listened for what Prowl could have heard.
There was a scraping sound farther out near the entrance of the warehouse, the door opening? Someone here?
The idea made Starscream irritated. They were in the middle of something-
"Starscream."
Prowl's voice, soft and stern, pulling the seeker's attention away from his agitation and to him. The look shared was more than enough to convey the plan. They'd simply hide until it passed.
With a rattling hiss, Starscream gathered him up and stood, claws protectively curling around the ninja's frame as he looked around. There, tucked near a dark corner, was a false door leading to a narrow corridor.
He made a beeline for it, with quick calculated movements barely audible. The door creaked and screeched, but he managed to squeeze his way inside, careful to give Prowl all the room he needed before pulling the door close behind them.
With the door shut, Prowl turned and tapped his chassis, a sign to let him down. Starscream obliged with a grumble, watching his lover intently as his peds quietly hit the floor. His huge clawed servo was quickly captured in Prowl's smaller one, being dragged down the hallway and towards a dimmer back room. The ceiling was collapsed, small rays of moonlight streaming in and illuminating the room the two had entered.
Dragged to a darker corner, Prowl released Starscream and made a gesture to sit. He did, carefully easing himself down as he huffed and grumbled. Prowl simply shook his head with a small smile and a huff of his own, the seeker's clear impatience amusing him.
"Easy, Star…" He slowly approached, Starscream's attention solely on him again with soft optics despite his small glower.
Carefully, he lifted his servos to cup the seeker's faceplates again. The effect was instantaneous, Starscream's glower softening to a disappointed pout as he offlined his optics and leaned into his touch. Another annoyed squawking chirrup made Prowl hum as he leaned forward and kissed him again.
Deciding to poke fun a little, he mused teasingly, "Oh, dear… Are you that upset our little session was interrupted?"
"Yes," Starscream responded with a slight whine, giving another kiss as he lamented, "We so rarely get time together as is… I am upset at the idea of our session ending so soon."
Prowl frowned at that, a smaller hum agreeing as he petted the side of his lover's helm. He wasn't wrong… every one of Starscream's movements was tracked by the Decepticons and Autobots, even the humans… and Prowl was often questioned on his whereabouts by his team if he was gone for too long. They really didn't get much time together at all when they did happen across each other…
He quietly sighed, settling in Starscream's lap again as eager claws set upon him. Touching and tracing his seams and sides as the seeker gave him a gentle kiss on the helm. But Prowl could still feel the uncertainty. The desperation.
Reaching up and wrapping his arms around the flier's neck, he pulled his frame closer against the larger one in a hug. He quietly cooed to Starscream, lightly pressing another kiss to his shoulder plating.
"Oh, Starlove… it's alright. We still have time before I have to go back."
Starscream made a whirring whine, holding him close and encompassing him in the returned hug. He squeezed his optics shut, tiredly sighing as he slowly pet Prowl's back.
“I’d prefer if you didn’t go back at all…”
Prowl hummed concerned at that, twisting his helm to give the seeker a curious look. Starscream felt the small squirm and clarified quietly, “I mean, I’d prefer if you stay with me. We can hide in one of my bases, you could defect. We don’t have to stay like this…”
The two wheeler was silent. Once, very long ago, that’s what he wanted. To stay out of the war. But after his training, his discipline and instruction, he had something worth fighting for. Until he didn’t… but even so. At this point, after everything, defecting would be wrong.
Pulling away slightly, Prowl quietly sighed, “No, Starscream, I can’t. You know I can’t.”
He could feel Starscream’s disappointment from the way his frame immediately sagged. His grip tightened slightly as he nuzzled him, venting heavily as he whirred quietly.
“Then… just stay as long as you can.”
Nodding, Prowl pressed another soft kiss onto his plating as he returned the nuzzle, whispering quietly, “That’s what I was planning on.”
——
“Shh! Starscream-!”
“I know, I know, I’m sorry-”
Finally, after another moment of panicked squirming, Starscream managed to quietly pull himself into Prowl’s room through the crack in his wall.
The tree was a bit of an issue, making the entrance a bit too tight for the seeker, though he managed well enough. Prowl’s room was just tall enough to fit Starscream crouching, another thing the seeker managed well with, keeping low and slowly crawling to Prowl’s berth.
With a huff, Prowl shook his helm as he followed, wondering how he let Starscream convince him to spend the night together.
The flier hadn’t wanted their time together to end, quietly begging for a night in his room and promising to be gone before the sun rose and his team woke up. Prowl, somehow, agreed, not fully convinced that the arrangement would work.
But as he watched Starscream situate himself comfortably into the surface of his sleeping area with a content smug smile and wings happily flicking, he started to grow more eased. So far, everything was going smoothly. Starscream was doing particularly well keeping quiet, and was now in a position where he would remain silent.
With this in mind, Prowl went to his berthroom door and double checked it was locked. Checked again, and again, wondering if he could double lock it for the night… he couldn’t imagine a teammate managing to stumble upon him in a slumbering Decepticon’s embrace…
“Prowl,” Starscream lightly whined, watching him impatiently with a pout, “Get over here, it should not take you that long to lock a door!”
“Patience. I’m just making sure it stays locked.”
A quiet hum escaped Starscream’s vox as he laid his helm down, closing his optics for a moment to bask in his lover’s berth as he waited. His systems whirred contented despite the dangerous situation, and he found he liked the thrill of this idea. Sleeping with his lover in his enemies base… a chance to be caught, and yet…
Starscream wouldn’t let that happen. He already had plans to slip away, he just wanted to spend more time with Prowl. He wanted to hold him a little longer, love him a little longer…
Hearing the soft pedsteps, Starscream opened his optics again to watch the ninjabot approach. When Prowl neared, Starscream reached out to gently grasp his arm, lightly tugging him closer onto the berth and pulling him down to lay with him.
Starscream took a moment to just take the sight of the two-wheeler in, him laying with him in a berth for the first time in a few months… a few months too long in Starscream’s opinion…
The two stared at each other a moment, taking the moment in, before Starscream smiled and turned more to wrap Prowl in a hug. Curling around his lover in a protective way, the seeker began lightly purring, softly petting the ninja’s plating as he hunkered down more and offlined his optics. Prowl smiled gently as he nuzzled closer, hooking his arms around the larger chassis with a sigh as he got comfortable. He pressed one last kiss to Starscream’s plating, listening to the quiet resulting trill as Starscream let out a long sigh, his internal mechanisms clicking to a slow pace as he drifted into recharge. Prowl’s smile remained as he offlined his visor and tried to pull himself just a bit closer to drift off too.
Maybe this wasn’t such a bad idea after all…

Tl;Dr - I stopped playing the game but I like the characters and I wanna draw them but idk if the wiki I use is up to date for cards
Do u know any wikis that have up to date cards for all the twst characters-
Asking specifically bc of Malleus cause I can't tell anymore if he has any more new cards bc HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A 100 DISNEY ANIVERSARY CARD IN THE WIKI I USE 😭
Like compared to everyone else in Disanomia, he has 12 cards (in the wiki I use) and then Lilia has 17 cards 💀
Cause I think Malleus has a Bean's Day card as well, but that could just be a fanmade one, I don't have JP twst nor ENG twst anymore so I can't confirm it myself urhghrhevw 🫠
Malleus doesn't have a Beans Day card, so that would've been fanmade! and the 100 anniversary cards are actually the new round of birthday cards, so most of the characters don't have 'em yet -- Malleus should be getting his in a couple of days, when his birthday event starts! oh god my keeeeeys
I think the wiki.gg stays pretty up to date? it looks to me like they have everything that's currently up through JP, at least. :O I did go through and do a quick count just because I couldn't believe Malleus only had 12 cards, but. he really does have the least...defeated only by Silver with 13...astonishing. we need his gargoyle club wear immediately.

You only live once. So enjoy life the way you want to. I get it because I'm doing that, too. However, if you're gonna put your freedom first, you need to respect others' freedoms too. Stealing freedom from the people of the village who are struggling to survive. That's what you want to do? I seriously don't understand what you're saying. My bucket list and yours are nothing alike! I still haven't repaid my parents for raising me. If I have to live with the regret of not giving back to my parents, I'd rather be eaten by zombies!

Hi so me being me I've decided to hyperanalyze the conversation Qrow and Raven had in Higanbana practically line by line bcus I have Many Thoughts and this is the best way I can think of to get them all out. If you can't tell I'm absolutely obsessed with these two. Btw.
Thanks to the RWBY wiki for providing transcripts for every episode, otherwise I definitely would have missed smth despite having just watched this scene recently lol
I put it under the read more for easier scrolling due to how long this post got!
I immediately noticed smth in the very first lines of the interaction:
Raven: "Hello, brother." Qrow: "...Raven."
You'll notice throughout the whole conversation that Raven never calls Qrow by his name, only condescendingly referring to him as "brother" this one time and never calling him anything else. Meanwhile, Qrow directly refers to Raven a total of three times throughout the conversation, and only one doesn't call Raven by her name (which we'll get to shortly)
On the other hand, Qrow doesn't bother with even so much as a greeting beyond simply stating Raven's name
It's different ways of communicating their distance. While Raven holds her relationship with Qrow over his head — never once, even outside of this scene, does she call him "brother" with affection iirc, only derision and condescension — Qrow doesn't seem to rly know how to greet her. He hesitates before saying her name and approaching her, as if trying to assess the situation before acting
Qrow: "So, what do you want?" Raven: "A girl can't just catch up with her family?" Qrow: "She can, but you're not. Now how 'bout we get on with it? Unless you plan on keeping these [drinks] comin'."
Again, Raven seems to bring up her familial ties with Qrow as a tactic to get him to do what she wants — in this case, stick around to talk to her despite him not seeming to rly want to. Frankly, it feels manipulative. We're gonna put a pin in this for now and come back to it in just a moment
Additionally, Qrow already knows that Raven's not just here for a friendly chat between two siblings, and sees right thru her facade that it is. Raven is here bcus she wants smth from him. But interestingly, it is Raven in V5 that says, in an almost frustrated/disappointed tone, "Family. Only coming around when they need something." There's another pin; keep both in mind
Raven: "Does she have it?" Qrow: "...Did you know Yang lost her arm?" Raven: "That's not—" Qrow: "Rhetorical question, I know you know. It's just obnoxious that you'd bring up family and then carry on like your own daughter doesn't exist." Raven: "I saved her." Qrow: "Once. Because that was your rule, right? Real 'Mom of the Year' material, sis."
Qrow dodges Raven's question about the Relic and instead brings up her hypocrisy in how she treats family. And it's a good point. Here she is lording her siblingship with Qrow over his head while simultaneously defending and upholding her rule that she is only obligated to help her own daughter a single time. Another pinpoint on our little conspiracy board
Also, here's the one time in this conversation Qrow refers to Raven as "sis". Like Raven's use of "brother", Qrow's use of "sis" is very pointed and with intent. But it's not to manipulate Raven, it's a snarky jab meant to rly hammer home Qrow's point
Raven: "I told you Beacon would fall, and it did. I told you Ozpin would fail, and he has. Now you tell me. Does. Salem. Have it?" Qrow: "I thought you weren't interested in all of that." Raven: "I just want to know what we are up against." Qrow: "And which 'we' are you referring to?"
A few things of note here. At some point in the past, Raven expressed an outright disinterest in Ozpin's inner circle, at least to Qrow. Qrow also feels excluded in the "we" Raven mentions being against Salem. To me, there seems to be a distinct possibility here that it wasn't that Raven felt personally disinterested in Ozpin's operations, but that she somehow felt excluded and feigned a lack of interest in order to protect herself. An idea that is further supported in my eyes by the following dialogue:
Qrow: "You should come back, Raven. The only way we'd beat her is by working together. All of us." Raven: "You're the one who left. The tribe raised us, and you turned your back on them." Qrow: "They were killers and thieves." Raven: "They were your family." Qrow: "You have a very skewed perception of that word."
And there it is. Raven's problem is laid out here for us, loud and clear: She feels like she was the one abandoned, not the one running away. She says it outright! "You're the one who left." To her, Qrow is the traitor, the one who left their family behind. If you ask Qrow (or, for that matter, Tai, Yang, and even Summer based on the scene in V9), it's the opposite
Bcus they have different definitions of family
Another thing to pin (I promise this will all become clear soon)
Raven: "I lead our people now. And as leader, I will do everything in my power to ensure our survival." Qrow: "I saw. The people of Shion saw, too." Raven: "The weak die. The strong live. Those are the rules." Qrow: "Well, you've certainly got someone strong on your side. I've seen the damage." Raven: "We couldn't have known the Grimm would set in as quickly as they did." Qrow: "I'm not talking about the Grimm. And I'm not talking about you, either."
Notice Raven's shift from "the tribe" to "our people". More of that guilt tripping!
Additionally, Raven is *obsessed* with rules. One save. The weak die, the strong live. Raven lives and breathes rules, even seemingly arbitrary ones. Guess what this is? Another pin!
Raven: "If you don't know where the Relic is, then we have nothing left to talk about." Qrow: "I don't know where the Spring Maiden is, either, but if you do, I need you to tell me." Raven: "And why would I do that?" Qrow: "Because without her, we're all going to die." Raven: "...And which 'we' are you referring to?"
Qrow's "either" here implies that he also doesn't know where the Crown of Choice is, which is... interesting. He's one of Ozpin's closest lieutenants, and is in the dark on where Beacon's Relic is? Wherever it is, it is such a closely kept secret that even Ozpin's best spy doesn't know where it is (maybe so that in the event Qrow gets captured by Salem he can't be forced into giving her the information?)
Meanwhile, Raven's "And why would I [tell you]?" implies that she does know who the Spring Maiden is (obviously. Raven's the Spring Maiden lol) but refuses to disclose to Qrow
A lantern sputters out after Qrow says "Without [Spring] we're all going to die." Now, I genuinely can't remember if this is headcanon or canon, but iirc Misfortune seems to act up when Qrow's upset. He's clearly tired of this little game of dancing around topics that Raven's been playing with him
And once again, Raven indicates a feeling of exclusion from Qrow's life in the iconic final line. She gets the final word in before leaving
We've finally reached the end of the conversation. Now what does all of this tell us?
And here is where all of those pins I wrote down are relevant. As I mentioned, the twins view family very differently
Qrow's view is pretty obvious: he views family as the ppl in his life who matter most to him. Unlike Raven, he does not view the tribe as family despite the fact that they raised him, disgustedly referring to them as "killers and thieves". It's implied that he was, in fact, neglected and/or likely abused by the Branwen tribe, saying in V6C4, "No one wanted me... I was cursed..." further explaining his distaste for them. Furthermore, despite not being related to Ruby by blood, they clearly consider one another family throughout the series, and he even seems closer to her than he seems to his niece who's actually blood related to him (I personally headcanon that he keeps more of a distance from Yang bcus she reminds him too much of Raven, who he feels abandoned and hurt by, but that's neither here nor there). Bloodlines and debts are secondary compared to loyalty, if they're considered at all. He is obviously furious that Raven only insists on saving Yang once and never directly interacting with her beyond that, despite Raven constantly guilting Qrow over abandoning his so-called "family" of the tribe. And yet. And yet. He still offers Raven a place back in his life, even if only to unite against Salem
Raven's view, to me, has been an enigma for a while. But after hyperanalyzing this conversation, after noting down all of those points of interest, I feel like I've finally cracked the code. Raven views family as an obligation, an exchange that always has an ulterior motive behind it. She seeks out Qrow only bcus she desires smth from him despite showing distaste when someone does the same to her; condescendingly calls Qrow "brother" more than his actual name and calls the tribe their "family" to try guilting him into doing what she wants; and feels fierce loyalty to the tribe but barely interacts with her daughter, only seeming to count one of the two as true family. She views the concept of family with cynicism and seems to feel an obligation to the tribe, as if she "owes" them for raising her
I think the two's perceptions of what defines family are all to do with the way the tribe treated both of them. This crosses a bit into headcanon territory, but as you can see by the above quotes and analysis, I rly don't think I'm just making it up entirely
As I already mentioned, I think it's implied that the Branwen tribe neglected/abused Qrow. In fact, we could probably blame their treatment of him for the deep self-loathing he has due to his "cursed" Semblance. But what about Raven?
Well, it's simple: I think she was abused, too, just in a different way. While Qrow was likely shown and told on a consistent basis that he was unwanted, unloved, undeserving of good things, Raven may have been shown and told she was wanted, loved, and deserving of good things... if she did what the tribe told her. If she repaid them for raising her and her brother, for being her "family". The way she uses her familial ties with Qrow as almost blackmail may be exactly the way the tribe treated her. Her obsession with following rules may stem from the fact that she had to follow the rules the tribe set for her in order to be accepted and deemed worth smth
As for her distance from Yang... honestly, I wonder if Raven is aware that Yang deserves better and keeps her distance as her way of doing that. When Summer confronts Raven in the V9 scene, Raven says, "...You're better at that life. Better than I was." She seems to have a fear and insecurity about being a good family member, a good mother, and maybe that's why she fled. Maybe she was scared of being like her abusers due to how she emulates them as a self-preservation tactic in so many other ways. Not entirely sure about this point tho
And I think too this is why the twins don't rly understand one another. They may have been unaware of the different ways in which the other was treated. Qrow, constantly unwanted and loathed, can't understand why Raven sticks around with the tribe; Raven, who obeyed the tribe and, in doing so, garnered enough of their favor to even eventually become leader, can't understand why Qrow can't just be "good", earn respect, and stay
This dissonance between the two experiences may also be completely intentional on the part of the tribe; abusers will often eliminate their targets' support systems in order to make them completely reliant on the abuser, so it's highly likely that the wedge was intentionally driven between the two siblings so that they could not find support in one another. This would also tie into why the twins seem to feel excluded from one another's lives and abandoned by one another: bcus they were made to feel that way by their common abusers, and did nothing to challenge these assumptions bcus they saw no reason to — and only seemed to keep proving one another right if they did
Which rly has some disturbing implications about how the Branwen tribe works. Like, do they just pick orphaned kids up off the street and abuse them into being perfect little bandits, molded to be of the greatest possible use and discarded if they're deemed worthless? Plus Qrow says his Semblance is how he got his name, which implies that the tribe also renames the kids they scoop up (possibly as a form of control or a way to make sure they can't be tracked down by any remaining family)? Plus there's the whole thing where Qrow and Raven were originally sent to Beacon to learn how to kill Huntsmen, which carries with it the implication that the Branwen tribe grooms literal orphan children into becoming stone-hearted murderers? What. The heck.
And if I'm right, if the Branwen tribe is that severely abusive, then like... wow, no wonder Qrow and Raven are Like That. They're both very deeply hurt people expressing it in different ways
I was considering adding their conversation at the Battle of Haven to this post, but I think that would be better as its own thing. Also I haven't gotten there on my rewatch yet so I may miss some details if I try to analyze it rn; it's better to wait overall methinks
But I have reached the point of my rewatch where we see Weiss and Whitley interact, and I think it would be very efficient to sum up what Qrow and Raven's relationship seems to be by using those siblings as a point of reference. Qrow = Weiss, actively trying to break free from and fight back against their abusers in different ways, while Raven = Whitley, continuing to do as their abusers want and have wanted as a method of self-preservation. Only, unlike Weiss and Whitley, Qrow and Raven have yet to come to a point where they can understand one another. I think that's a good way to briefly summarize the uh. Absolutely massive post this is.
In conclusion, I may have cracked the majority of the Branwen twins' pre-Beacon backstory purely by hyperanalyzing a single conversation. Oopsies

Pre divorce shadowpeach didn't seem to be the type to fight a lot. In fact the shadowpeach divorce probably blew up that big due to all the unsaid frustrations they never let out.
So I'm just imagining shadowpeach never fighting in an obvious way (closest to fighting would be backhanded comments or barbed words) but that just makes things more unsettling
oh yeah 100% it didn’t help that swk was always leaving FFM out of his need to get stronger and be the best and be respected. not to mention they probably never saw their times together as the right moment to voice their concerns out loud because this was their time to wind down and they just had to wait it out, wait until everything was perfect enough to have those talks
#then everything went to shit#nothing was okay#swk was trapped under mountain all by his lonesome and def going insane#then Macky visits him (i’ve assumed that memory in s4 was Macky’s 1st and last visit) and they can’t pretend everything is ok anymore#tbh it was probably super ironic for them bc it might’ve been that swk would act like nothing was wrong & everything was under control#pre-battle with Heaven with Macky being the one with some concerns. but then Macky visits acting like everything’s chill and swk can’t#thus their fight is equally harsh and explosive (bc that’s what i find fun) and they never really say they’re done with each other#but both confirm to themselves that this is probably the end of their relationship and then oops! swk is free but won’t come home#why won’t he come home? Macky isn’t sure but he knows that swk is looking carefree with some new buddies and gets pissed#(Am I placing assumptions? Yes. Do they have any semblance to canon? They do if you consider my heart and passion)#anyway mixing jttw events that lmk hasn’t confirmed: Macky dies by SWK’s hand (whether directly or indirectly)#and the divorce is set in stone (bc how can a relationship reconcile or get back if the other is dead? as far as swk knows)#fast forward to lmk and they still can’t be civil or ignore their relationship issues like before and fight/butt heads constantly bc yeah#like yeah past shadowpeach is cute & fluffy & codependent still but they don’t have that hostility like in their divorced/still married era#lmk#shadowpeach#asks

new ride kamens dropped, rui, who is definitely a horobi homage; another cool choice, but at the same time, kinda wish it was someone else 'cuz now we got two zero-one homages with hayate's jin, when the trend had been one rider for each season until him, and people started claiming that takahashi must be playing favorites
aw, I was actually pretty jazzed to see it was Horobi! I think it opens up some interesting possibilities if it isn't only one-per after all, and I'm excited to see if there's gonna be something with him and Hayate or not. plus I just really like his design
Tumblr media
(also, not to be all cynical, but. this exists because of a corporate trend-hop with a franchise that is already sorta notorious for executive meddling. I would be...let's say very surprised if Takahashi had that level of control over what riders were included, versus being handed a list to work off of that the execs had already determined would appeal to their target demographic. c'mon.)

we really know the context of the pride layer of hell scene now. that was the moment hermie realized normals feelings for him were shallower than he thought. hermie says "i thought we were special", bc he started to believe that normal actually saw him as his own person and could maybe love him for who he really is. but then he sees normals big old fantasy in which hermie is nothing but a love interest, another character to boost his ego. the romantic affection isnt enough for hermie. he wants to be seen as his own person. but he only feels like normal is using him to make himself feel better. he feels lied to and betrayed, even more than normal, who hermie purposefully betrayed. normal misinterprets hermies betrayal as another reason to like him, another thing that makes them the same, projecting onto him and reaching to try to fit hermie into his own narrative to the point where hermie is back to square one. hes never been understood, even by the one person who promised him he could.
"i knew u liked me" -> "it wasnt me" -> "u dont like me"
