Hallo liebe Leseratten,

heute habe ich eine ganze Buchreihe für euch. Die Again-Reihe von Mona Kasten. Obwohl ich relativ viel lese und für wirklich gute Bücher nie viel Zeit brauche, hat es mich doch sehr erstaunt, dass ich kein Buch ihrer Reihe lange aus der Hand legen konnte. (Meinem Biorhythmus zum trotz) Ich möchte mich heute dem bisher letztem Buch ihrer Reihe widmen.

Hope Again erzählt die Geschichte der Studentin Everly Penn und ihrem Dozenten Nolan Gates. Allein an diesem einfachen Satz erkennt man die Vielzahl an Problemen, die einer möglichen Romanze der Beiden im Weg steht. Aber nicht nur das Offensichtliche überschattet ihre aufkeimende Zuneigung zueinander, auch Nolans Vergangenheit und Everlys Familiengeheimnis lassen zunächst kaum Hoffnung auf ein Happy-End. Man taucht so tief in ihre Geschichte ein, als wäre es seine Eigene und weckt Wünsche, derer man sich vielleicht gar nicht bewusst war. Everlys und Nolans Reise durch Höhen und Tiefen zeigt, dass egal wie schwer man es hat und egal wie schwer es noch sein mag, man der Liebe nicht den Rücken kehren darf. Sie ist was uns fängt, wenn wir fallen, sie gibt uns Kraft über uns hinauszuwachsen und den Mut, die Hoffnung in die Zukunft nicht zu verlieren.

Doch nicht nur Hope Again ist ein wundervoller Roman, auch die Geschichten von Allie und Kaden, Dawn und Spencer und Sawyer und Isaac berühren die Herzen der Leser. Jeder Roman beinhaltet eine Wendung, die kaum vorherzusehen war. Das macht jedes Buch zu einem Juwel. Mona Kasten ist zudem eine der wenigen gegenwärtigen SchriftstellerInnen, deren Handlungen nicht in Deutschland sondern in Amerika spielen. Ihre Beschreibungen des Studiums jedes einzelnen Protagonisten, erinnert so stark an das Studium hierzulande, dass es leicht fällt sich auf die Geschichte einzulassen. Ich kann nur sagen: Achtung! Suchtgefahr!.

“Again”

"And you shall again obey the voice of the LORD and keep all his commandments that I command you today." Deuteronomy 30:8

The word “again” gives me hope. It awakens my inner being telling me that it’s okay to fall sometimes because there is this hope that I’ll get up on my feet and walk again like before. For many times, I resent the word “again” because it speaks to me like “okay, i failed again. oh no, i’m at it again. oopps i did the wrong thing again.” For many times, I do not want to hear myself say that same word ever. It was like me admitting to myself that I’ll never get far because I’m like running an endless rat race.

God, on the other hand, used it positively for me. He tears down and then build up something again. He breaks and restores again. That’s who He is. Sometimes He allows us to fall ten times to make us realize that He’s able to lend us a hand eleven times. Hearing Him say “Again” renews my hope in myself. Hearing Him say “Again” boosts up my energy because at the same time He’s telling me that tomorrow is another day. That there is this unending chance to start over when your eyes looks to Jesus.

Lord, thank You for not giving up on me when I myself is about to give up on myself. Thank You for believing in me when I feel hopeless and everything around me looks dark. Thank You because though I keep doing the same things over and over again and it hurts You every time, You remain faithful. Thank You for Your love O Lord.
