okay but
Rolan wanting so badly to make love to his partner but hes incredibly bashful about other people being ware of his intentions, it just turns him off any time people know or accuse him of wanting it.
ACCUSE HIM
but they're not, they're just teasing. and he cant seem to get a moment alone with them and when they do have a moment, its too much. they kiss him and touch him and he gets overwhelmed. they're too forward with that desire of him and he cant quite handle it just yet.
but he still wants it, and when he thinks of them hes yearning so desperately, he realizes how long ts been since his partner has made any move to try with him and he panics. so finally he me make some way for them to be alone and instead of a move being made he sees them try to talk and just leans forward to kiss them, kiss them holding their face in his hands. terrified hes ruined them by being himself and just blurts that he wants to make love, he loves them. when he says it with those long dark lashes all wet. whose going to tell him no?

Okay but why do François and Arthur keep separating if they are the only ones who understand each other that well? It's their arrogant personality? Their vicious habits and need to be correct? Bc I actually see françois more aggressive and Arthur more permissive in the end which seems to be contradictory to what I see people writing in the fruk shippers. I don't get it, no hate
Nah nah all good valid question and i do agree actually on most of what you say.
They dont separate in the traditional and common way we associate humans and human relationships with. Not fully.
Lets say they spend a vacation together. They go to the beach and drink and find bars and terorrize supermarkets during their stay. They are happy and content and a destrucrive power couple. But they are still nations and nations have more responsibilities than two moddle aged human men could ever have. So they clash on a thing or two. One takes a stab at an old phychologial wound thought healed. The other gets irritated but doesnt express it (cus emotional repression is legal apparently) and he takes a jab at the other at their weak spot. And they are irritated at each other and start to bicker bc both are too hardheaded to apologize or talk like people who didnt grow up during the middle ages. Now any small mishap irritates the other. A big fight then separation. They dont see eath other for a longer period of time after that. They might hit it off again with an old friend/enemy/lover and its fine. The problem is that François knows exactly what to say and what nerve to pick and get on it to get Arthur to react as he wants. And Arthur is too much of a sarcastic person and generally a man who enjoys a good challege which he might not get from everyone he interacts with. At least not precisely the way he likes. Like Alfred, Arthur gets bored seemingly quickly with a person. Also his affection can be missinterpreted as belittlement or even a jibe or taunt. He portrays himself as polite and appropriate but in truth he is a hard man to get along with. And few people know how to deal and distinguish his comments.
So after a randevouz with Portugal whom he hasnt seen in a while, he is once again sitting at home by himself pondering what takeout to get bc who has time to cook these days. He is still annoyed with francois but doesnt think too much of it. So after a while something happens and he wants to talk to someone about it, so having all but forgotten their little feud he picks up the phone and dials the french phone number. François picks up and you can hear the irritation in the "I thought the lord is still pissed at me. What a surprise." To which Arthur responds with "Oh do shut up. Now listen I've recetly got word that......" because who can be as stubborn as mules yet forgetful as fish at the same time? These two.
I do think to a certain degree Arthur is more permissive. Especially as he got older and saw his empire sink into that ocean he loved so much. François has more of a need to prove that he is still on top of the game so he does tend to be more assertive in some situations and discussions.
Even if they dont speak to eachother for multiple years at a time, something will come that hauls them back to one another. Be it shared history, mutual understanding or good gossip.
In short, small things break them apart and smaller things bring them together.

last post complaining about genshin's writing for the month Anyway i think blorbofication happening in canon is the best way i could describe a lot of the problems i have with it ex. kaeya's relationship with diluc (or klee) is almost the only focus we get on him now, other than his brief appearance in the sumeru archon quest which was just saying his backstory basically with very little actual reaction or characterization on his part OR dainsleif's (also a problem i have in the albedo homunculus reveal in shadows amidst snowstorms). i haven't done his hangout because i. don't care enough to sit through an hour for each route with the quality of content hoyoverse puts out but looking at the ending options i feel like. they missed the opportunity to expand on things we already had for kaeya in favor of Oh he babysits klee! Oh albedo is here! Spend money to pull albedo!Venti cameo! What do you mean him and amber have a complicated dynamic. What do you mean he's apparently beloved by the elderly of mondstadt and the one who wraps up all the incidents there. What do you mean bennett trusts him as an omniscient big brother according to his official cn character profile. We made him talk to diluc again isn't that enough kaeya for you? and it sucks because kaeya feels like a rubik's cube with an onion's layers and like one of their best character personalities in content where he's actually kaeya and not just diluc's brother who is sad and also pretty! we never see anything about his relationship with jean, who he is the Most Trusted Aide of, or mondstadt at large! because every day we get closer to fanon kaeya being canon kaeya and it's just. You can have canon kaeya and fanon kaeya will follow but if fanon kaeya is at the forefront you're just immediately losing all that depth and it's going nowhere

Are we going to get a LW revelation in or with the carriage scene? Tbh I want Colin to find out she is LW sooner rather than later. But the more I think about it the less I’m sure of it.
From a writing and angst standpoint I would say that the longer she withholds that information from him the more gut wrenching the punch will be. Maybe not because she actively decides that she will keep it from him for that long but turn of events make it that way. Nicola has said that Penelope is a bit of a compulsive liar. So she might « lie » to him out of fear, out of doubts or simply because it is not an easy thing to admit and to share when you are so used to keeping that side of you hidden away. The revealing of LW is essentially the revealing of who Penelope Featherington really is, all sides of her and that is incredibly vulnerable.
What made me think of this too is this picture
Tumblr media
I know it’s promo stuff but bear with me for a sec here. They’re playing cards, a game where you are supposed to keep your cards secret. Luke/Colin is literally showing her his cards. He is all in, nothing (almost nothing) to hide and his cards are on the table. Nicola/Pen on the other hand keeps hers cards to herself, thus withholding information from him.
I think we’re all waiting for the carriage scene with baited anticipation and that scene might be the best and the worst scene. It’s at the end of episode 4 so we know it’s synonymous with momentary doom. I think we’re gonna get a very high point where Pen, Colin and the rest of us really all get what we want which is for them to be « together » and happy. Then she might reject him. Either because it’s all going too fast, or because she realises that he does not know the whole truth and she doesn’t know how to tell him without seeing his disdain of LW turn into a disdain for her. So it’s easier to essentially leave him confused AF and to break her own heart by denying him and them. All the while the sexual attraction between these two only grow more undeniable leaving Colin more confused until he actually looks at her and what she’s doing and sees her and sees LW.
Or alternatively they get engaged and she withholds it from him, outright lying to him. I like this option a lot less though.

i will be the first to admit that this might be reaching a bit. also discussions of religious concepts in lgts ahead
so catholicism in lgts is explored through the struggles of living in a small catholic town like kieferberg, and literally everything about walpurga, the forest deity turned saint. but imo there's also something to be said about how elise obtains the tender flesh: this might be a reflection of the sacrament of the eucharist as understood during the medieval era.
but what is the eucharist anyway?
in catholic doctrine the eucharist is supposed to be the body of christ manifested through transubstantiation: the transformation of bread and wine into his flesh and blood respectively. this is based on the events of the last supper in the bible, wherein before his death jesus offers his body to his disciples through the bread and wine that they share. thing is, current understanding of transubstantiation is moreso in a metaphysical sense: catholics who do believe in it don’t actually think that they’re eating jesus’ physical body.
that wasn't always the case with medieval catholicism, however. there were theorists like st aquinas and berengar who argued for a metaphysical transubstantiation, but powerful church officials like cardinal humbert (who actually forced berengar to recount his claims) also believed that the faithful partaking in the eucharist were actually eating the literal, physical flesh and blood of jesus. there was quite a bit of concern too because of this: the body of christ, torn apart and chewed on by not just the faithful, but potential sinners?
the average catholic of that time probably didn't care much for the specifics of how transubstantiation worked (either way, the bread is/represents jesus, whether or not that was physical or not), but the point is there was an ongoing debate—if only among high-ranking church officials and theologians—about what the eucharist really was. now keep in mind that aforementioned literal physicality of the eucharist, and how similarly that plays out to the relevant witching hour segments in lgts.
i want to first highlight the scene where the crows in murim's domain rip out parts of elise's hair for the wheat testament:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and the aftermath:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
they sure are hungry, huh? and the way they get at elise is pretty violent, judging by her screams and the sounds of tearing flesh. their carnal hunger, expressed through their lines and the violence in how they form the wheat testament from her hair, brings to mind similar fears of an animalistic, near sacrilegious ingestion of a certain sacred body turned bread, only this time realized in a demonic trial. in other words, the entire trial subverts christ's supposed physical presence in the bread. besides, it's stated outright that elise is meant to physically combine a piece of her body—her hair—into that wheat.
she does just that in the windmill:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
her hair baked into the (apparently unleavened) bread is the tender flesh that the crows hungered for, that would eventually find its way onto ozzy's table.
Tumblr media
so the process of acquiring the tender flesh seems to imitate that transubstantiation in the celebration of the eucharist. if that's the case, i wonder why ozzy and his minions would design them this way…
btw here's my sources for medieval transubstantiation (despite my unhinged rambling i did do a bit of research):
