SORRY SEEING HITOSHI OZAWA REMINDED ME pleeeeeeease please please please if you never take any of my recs again (<- being dramatic) PLEASE watch The Clan's Heir is a Trans Woman at some point... it is, as the title says, about a trans woman who's the successor to a yakuza family... it's got overwhelmingly positive reviews and it IS fucking incredible I'm not over it...

But Here's Why It's Worth A Watch Specifically As An RGG Fan:

Written and directed by Ozawa (he killed it on both counts)

Stars multiple RGG FCs (listing with who they played for convenience): Obviously Ozawa himself (Kuze in Y0), Hideo Nakano (Shibusawa in Y0), Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi (Tsuruno in Gaiden), and Yasukaze Motomiya (Shishido in Gaiden)

According to Motomiya, this basically came about as a bunch of trans-positive actors getting together to support Ozawa's project. For me that was a big deal because pretty much the entire cast is incredibly prolific in V-Cinema (direct-to-video action movies; I think direct-to-video has a negative connotation in the West but I don't think that's the case in Japan). Half the OG and Neo V-Cine Four Kings star in this movie, and all of them have starred in RGG at this point, so if nothing else I was pleasantly surprised to not have to disavow several of my favorite actors for this movie...

Also in the same article as Motomiya's comment, Nakano (who plays a detective) said he wished he got to play a trans woman so he "wouldn't have to craft a role." OK queen <3

Tonally just very RGG with how it blends spectacle and comedy and hard-hitting drama sometimes back-to-back... some of the themes and writing choices definitely struck me as RGG as well despite this coming out before Ozawa's involvement... lmao... I thiiiiink there's also a pretty overt reference in the climactic scene to Kiryu's iconic Step The Fuck Up line to look forward to :)

The Cartoonishly Bigoted Villain played by Motomiya kept reminding me of Mine and Aoki for some reason?? Maybe it was his Mine-stache and costuming and how lame his lines are. Maybe it was the way he runs his clan. Anyway it was funny To Me because I HC both of them as trans

That is all... I rest my case... I will say obviously transphobia and homophobia (on the part of the characters) are Constants 'cause a lot of it's about portraying bigotry and acceptance on an individual level + the subs kinda go overboard on the slurs... so I can get if it'd be tiring or something... but yeah... good movie...

Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl (1999 dir. Katsuhiro Ishii) This is my movie. Movie of all time. Rotten Tomatoes can eat my ass with their 25% rating. A yakuza on the run for stealing from the boss from a wacko cast of assassins with a clever girl in tow. It's what Tarantino wishes he could make.

Heat (1995 dir. Michael Mann) I mean, come on. AlPacino, Robert DeNiro, Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Ashely Judd, Mykelti Williamson? This movie could not fail even if that was the goal.

The Accountant (2001 dir. Ray McKinnon) It's a short film, and Ray is actually from the town I've lived in the last twenty years, so I have a soft spot for him. Ray is so captivating as an actor, and this film was something else. It's somber but still moving.

Straight Talk (1992 dir. Barnet Kellman) It's a cornball romcom, but it's DOLLY PARTON'S romcom. I love this movie to pieces. I even have one of the original movie posters. Unfortunately I have to also look at James Woods' face lol.

Tombstone (1993 dir. George P. Cosmatos) Another that's like, be serious. I love westerns and the outlaw/lawman yeehaw bullshit. You know how it is with yeehaw bullshit.

Deadland Inferno/Zアイランド (2015 Hiroshi Shinagawa) An action zombie comedy. This one is for the yakuza gworls (gn). Basic we have a plan to get to safety from zombies and hijinks ensuse. Sho Aikawa, SHINGO TSURUMI MY BABY BOY BABY, Hideo Nakano, Hitoshi Ozawa, Sawa Suzuki. So like...dead souls but you're playing as Takasugi, Sagawa, Shibusawa, and Kuze LOL

The Bridges of Madison County (1995 dir. Clint Eastwood) Romance between an older couple, bittersweet partings, it's everything. I'm a closet die hard romantic.

My Dead Dad (2021 dir. Fabio Frey) I watched this for Raymond Cruz and wasn't expecting much but it really hit me. For reasons of my own dead dad that I was estranged from, but there were so many pieces that were like snapshots of my own teens years. The skate parks and ugly fucking skate shoes, weed, sour beer. It's also beautifully shot. It was my movie of 2022.

Grosse Pointe Blank (1997 dir. George Armitage) The soundtrack fucking rips. Probably one of my favorites ever. Joe Strummer put his whole pussy in it. A black comedy, John Cusack & Minnie Driver? Hot stuff

The Devil's Advocate (1997 dir. Taylor Hackford) MY GAY AWAKENING, A MOVIE I HAD NO BUSINESS WATCHING UNDER THE AGE OF TEN. I was obsessed with this movie. Tamara Tunie only had a small part man....she changed my life forever. If you love the tropes of good and evil, the devil, lawyers, Keanu Reeves with a terrible southern drawl, watch this :)

The Rising of the Shield Hero Saison 3 : Date de Sortie, Trailer, tout savoir

Visuels, trailer, équipe de production et distribution artistique, date de sortie : l’anime The Rising of the Shield Hero Saison 3 se dévoile.

Annoncée pour la première fois courant 2020, en parallèle à la seconde saison de la série, la saison 3 de l’anime The Rising of the Shield Hero dévoile finalement ses principales informations sur son site officiel, à commencer par sa date de sortie, mais également de nombreux détails concernant sa production.

Dans cette troisième saison, le groupe de Naofumi se prépare à affronter une toute nouvelle menace. Après Reiki la Tortue Spirituelle, c’est au tour du Phoenix de faire son entrée, dans un contexte pour le moins tendu puisque Motoyasu, Itsuki et Ren, respectivement les héros à la lance, à l’arc et à l’épée, sont introuvables. Une fois de plus, c’est au héros au bouclier que revient la lourde tâche de sauver le monde !

La date de sortie de l’anime The Rising of the Shield Hero Saison 3 (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari Saison 3), réalisé par le studio d’animation Kinema Citrus, est programmée pour octobre 2023 au Japon.

C’est Hitoshi Haga (Star Wars Visions : The Village Bride) qui réalise le projet au studio d’animation Kinema Citrus (Made in Abyss). Keigo Koyanagi (Sirius the Jaeger) occupe le poste de scénariste principal tandis que Komatsu Sana, Franziska van Wulfen et Masahiro Suwa sont crédités pour le design des personnages. Sera Kota coopère à la conception des chara designs. Les musiques sont composées par Kevin Penkin (Tower of God).

Pour rappel, l’anime The Rising of the Shield Hero est adapté du light novel Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, écrit par Yusagi Aneko et illustré par Seira Minami, publié au Japon depuis août 2013 par l’éditeur KADOKAWA. Le titre connait aussi une adaptation en manga par Aiya Kyu, prépublié par le même éditeur depuis février 2014 dans le magazine Monthly Comic Flapper.

Les deux premières saisons de la série animée sont à retrouver sur Crunchyroll.

Après avoir mis un terme aux villes manigances du vicieux Kyo, il est temps pour Naofumi, Raphtalia et leurs camarades de reprendre leur aventure là où elle avait été laissée. Naofumi, désormais vicomte suite à ses exploits face à Reiki, a pour projet de se réinvestir corps et âme dans la lutte face aux vagues.

Toutefois, de nombreux nouveaux problèmes l’attendent, à commencer par l’éveil du Phœnix, une autre Bête Gardienne, provoqué par la disparition de la Tortue Spirituelle. Face à cette menace d’une tout autre ampleur, le monde à plus que jamais besoin du héros au bouclier !

Mais comme si cela n’était pas déjà suffisamment compliqué, les trois autres héros semblent avoir disparu suite à leur cuisant échec dans la bataille face à Reiki. Alors, afin de renforcer les défenses de Melromarc en prévision du terrible affrontement à venir, Naofumi décide de rechercher les membres dispersés du village de Lurolona et se rend sur les terres de Zeltoble, où il apprend que certains d’entre eux ont été vendus comme esclaves.

Pour les libérer et obtenir leur aide, il participe avec Raphtalia et Filo à une arène de combat souterraine. Tandis que les demi-humains cherchent le salut, Myne fomente quant à elle un nouveau mauvais coup dans l’ombre…

北海道札幌市出身。2009年に自身が作詞作曲を務めるロック・バンドDrop'sを結成し、ボーカル&ギターとして活動をスタート。ストレートなブルース・ロックンロールを軸にした楽曲が話題を集め、2013年にメジャー・デビューを果たす。2016年には『無伴奏』（監督：矢崎仁司）、『月光』（監督：小澤雅人）という2本の映画主題歌に楽曲が起用されたほか、JR東日本のCMソング「行くぜ、東北。SPECIAL 冬のごほうび」の歌唱に抜擢されるなど、ミュージシャンだけでなく多くのクリエイターからの支持も得る。バンドは2021年10月に活動を休止し、これまでに5枚のフル・アルバムと4枚のミニ・アルバムをリリースした。

バンドの活動休止後はソロとして活動中。ソロでは“歌”に焦点を合わせ、ジャズやオールディーズなど古き良きアメリカ音楽から影響を受けた楽曲を制作し、2022年8月に6曲入りEP『Breath』をリリース。現在はギターでの弾き語りを始め、サポート・ミュージシャンにRomantic（Pf）を迎えたデュオ編成や、Romanticとサトウミノル（d）との3ピース・バンド編成など、様々な形態で積極的にライブ活動を行って���る。デュオやバンド編成ではボーカル&ベースを担当しており、シンガー・ソングライターとしてだけでなく、楽器プレイヤーとしての側面も併せ持つ。

Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido. In 2009, she formed the rock band Drop's, which she wrote and composed, and started her activities as vocal and guitar. They straight blues rock and roll-centered songs attracted a lot of attention and made they major debut in 2013. In 2016, the songs were appointed to two movie theme songs, "無伴奏" (Director: Hitoshi Yazaki) and “月光” (Director: Masato Ozawa), and JR East's CM song "行くぜ、東北。SPECIAL 冬のごほうび". She has been selected as a singer for the song, and gained the support of many creators as well as musicians. The band ceased activity in October 2021 and has released five full-length albums and four mini-albums so far.

After the band's suspension of activity, she is active as a solo. In solo, she focused on "songs" and produced songs influenced by good old American music such as jazz and oldies.In August 2022, she released a 6-track EP “Breath”.

Currently, in addition to playing the guitar and singing, there are various forms such as a duo formation with Romantic (Pf) as a support musician, and a three-piece band formation with Romantic and Sato Minoru (d). Actively performing live activities. She is in charge of vocals and bass in duo and band formation, and has an aspect not only as a singer / songwriter but also as an instrument player.

You SMT music response... now I'm curious, which FF game do you always really enjoy listening to all or a majority of the soundtrack? What are some of your all time favorite FF songs?

I really love them all. I've been listening to them for most of my life. All Uematsus are great and so are those that followed with maybe the lesser being FF15's. While still not bad by any means, that was an amazing disappointment considering it was Yoko Shimomura, who is usually phenomenal. I think part of the problem was that it wasn't well utilized in the game itself.

But I'll be up for a favorite a piece from the main series:

1: Sea Shrine (MSX version; I'm naming this by the location where the theme usually appears but, ironically, the MSX version does flip the Sea Shrine/Temple of Fiends & the final dungeon themes)

So! My oc scenario request/idea thingie! (Warning: long) I was thinking something like, Ryūga starts getting picked on for how he looks, how dangerous his quirk can be, etc. to the point where he starts crying n shinsou like, overhears them tell ryūga he's better off a villain. shinsou is just like "oh shoot they tell me that too" n proteccs my tol n like, calms him a bit and then they become Friends. That's the basis but u can do whatever u want w/ it! if u need any more info on Ryūga hmu

Ryūga felt trapped. There were three of his classmates surrounding him, murderous looks in their eyes as they harassed him with their words.

“You’ll never be a hero.”

“You can’t even control your quirk.”

“People are terrified of you.”

“You even look like monster.”

“You’re better off as a villain.”

Villain. That’s the word that echoed in his mind at all times. It wasn’t the first time he’s been told these things but that doesn’t mean it hurts any less. He brought his hands up to try to cover his ears as he slid down the wall. The three students hovered over him, not relenting at all with their words, calling him monster and villain and telling him that he’d be better off dead.

Ryūga could feel tears pricking his eyes before they rolled down his cheeks. He tried to bury his face between his knees and tried to block out the onslaught of aggressive words that flooded his senses. He could feel his quirk trying to activate out of self-defence and tried with all of his might to keep the tendrils at bay. He knew he wasn’t going to last long, though, and he mentally apologized to the others standing above him.

Just as he thought he was about to lose control, he heard a new voice call out to him.

“Are you okay?”

For some reason Ryūga recognized the voice but he couldn’t place how and he was still too afraid to look up. Whoever it was, though, spoke calmly and caused the three to stop their verbal assault.

“Go away, freak. This has nothing to do with you.” Ryūga cringed at the thought of someone else getting hurt for trying to protect him and he mentally willed the other to leave.

“Well, you see, it does have something to do with me now that you went and called me a freak.”

“Seriously, man, fucking beat it befo-” he stopped mid-sentence, which confused Ryūga. Curiosity won out against his fear as he looked up. Once he saw who it was, it all made sense.

Shinsou stood there with a smirk on his face, one of the others frozen and the other two staring at the purple-haired male in fear and recognition.

“Oh shit dude, that’s the brainwashing guy from general studies.”

“Shit man we gotta go. That guy’s quirk is the real deal.”

Shinsou sighed and scratched the back of his neck. “You know,” his voice caused the other two to freeze out of fear, not because of his quirk, “people like you really get on my nerves. Leave.” The one who he was controlling started to walk away, his friends following after him.

Ryūga watched the scene play out in silent amazement. Shinsou took a deep breath and looked at him.

“Are you okay man?” Ryūga nodded, unable to produce proper words due to his body still shaking. “I won’t control you if that’s what you’re worried about.”

His eyes went wide at Shinsou’s words, guilt pooling in his gut. “I-no t-that’s not it. I j-just don’t know how to t-thank you properly,” he stuttered out, voice quiet as he lifted himself off of the ground.

“No need to thank me. I know how it feels like to be on the receiving end of comments like that.”

“H-how do you d-deal with it?”

“I just keep reminding myself that I’m not a villain.” He paused for a moment to think of his next words. “And you should too. I don’t know your past but you wouldn’t be here if you didn’t want to try to make a difference in the world, right?”

Ryūga was speechless. He felt more tears flow down his cheeks, this time out of joy and gratitude and other positive emotions. “T-Thank you, Shinsou.”

“No need to thank me.” He started to walk away but froze. “What’s your name again?”

“Oh, j-just call me Ryūga,” he answered quietly.

“Well, I’ll see you later Ryūga. Come find me if you ever need anything.” He gave the other a small wave.

Ryūga watched him walk away, a small blush on his cheeks and his heart fluttering in his chest. He was unsure of how to deal with the kindness that was shown to him but was grateful for it nonetheless.
