THE EX-MORNING SERIES CONCEPT

By now I think many people have heard that KristSingto’s upcoming series is an original script that was written for them. What we also have confirmed is that it was written about them.

KRIST: This series was written by P'Backaof and directed by P'Lit where they created this script from the start deliberately for the two of us and they got information for the characters etc. from KristSingto directly. In the series, the name for P'Sing is Tamtawan, and my name is Phatapi. And Tamtawan Tamtawan and Phatapi are KristSingto themselves.

INTERVIEWER: Does that mean you play yourself?

KRIST: [laughing] Yes, we act as ourselves, so it's not difficult at all.

Recently I was talking to another med student and shared that before my grandmother died, her heart failure had gotten so bad that her doctors couldn’t effectively diurese her and she ended up needing several thoracenteses. The other med student suggested that these procedures were too aggressive and my grandmother’s doctors should have let her die instead. And I’m confused, because these procedures were very much palliative in nature: it is painful to have a pleural effusion preventing you from breathing well. She needed surgery to address the valve issues causing her heart failure, but she was not a good candidate for surgery, so she had already foregone curative measures. Also, my grandmother did not want to die of a pleural effusion. I’m not saying her quality of life was good--it wasn’t--but she didn’t want to essentially drown to death. And I’m kind of upset at the notion that her doctors should have forced her to die that way. That’s not humanity, peace, or dignity in death. Maybe I’m misunderstanding something, but the conversation has left me unhappy.

#I honestly hope I'm missing something #but I really think refusing my grandmother a procedure she wanted that relieved her pain would be incredibly cruel #also not sure how we're bypassing the issue of her very much having capacity and consenting to the procedure #idk this philosophy that this decision about her life #both its quality and quantity #should be taken away from her #makes me queasy #medblr #med school #med student #medicine #palliative care #end of life #my content #my text posts

reconnecting with a certain somewhat estranged family member next month......i am ready to let her back in but i have a singular prerequisite which may likely go unmet and i still cannot figure out why. She is self-identified as "androgynous", a dedicated Quaker in a lesbian relationship, and a (supposed) outspoken ally to the transgender......and after four years of arguing still refers to me as her grandson but now ONLY behind my back. Supposedly due to the ungrammatical nature of the singular they 🤔 for which she recommended I use "xe" as a replacement..... 🤔 this bizarre situation. I'm trying to figure out if she's just a narcissist (due to more than just this circumstance) but she keeps surprising me with kind and rational responses every time I'm ready to cut her off....which maybe is part of the plan.

#meanwhile G's grandmother (also early 80s but lived the straightest Catholic life imaginable) has had no issue 🤷#Hey my name is ellory my pronouns are sie/hir cause my grandma asked me to um..use those ones...so yeah #she also brags about having a transgender grandchild for Quaker Points and has decided that I go by Ell (never said that)#ANYWAY LOLLL WHAT A SILLY SITUATION

#random personal stuff #got told an account of some behavior of a fifteen-year-old cousin that my grandmother objected to #sounds to me like they were both at fault and my grandmother was being ridiculously petty about some hurt pride #and that reopened some feelings from the most of a year we spent with my grandparents when I was sixteen #the patterns are still there #there'll be a designated Always Bad child #and if you're a teenager you're automatically bad and wrong and couldn't possibly ever have a point or emotions worth empathizing with #my cousin may have some issues that need to be addressed #but repeating words of hers you didn't like back to her in spite isn't going to help #any more than treating every mistake of mine like malicious criminality helped me #...I am just very tired #I want to rescue my cousins from this #I want to rescue sixteen-year-old Rebekah #and I wish we as a society were more conscious of how we treat young people and what kind of example we set

like, if i make a thing i'm usually stretching it a week, it's not like i'm eating the whole cobbler or crumble or whatever at once.

tho even if i was it's fine.

dessert isn't some dirty terrible thing that you're punishing yourself for eating.

#and look- a portion of a cobbler or a crumble is a decent amount of nutrients!#in extra tasty form!#we are supposed to enjoy food!#humans are made to enjoy food!#my grandmother loved making cobblers and crumbles for BREAKFAST #when you look at it it's no worse than eating pancakes soaked in syrup or poptarts for breakfast #and what baffles me is often the same people who re like 'oh no tee hee thats too much sugar for me!' when they see cake or pie or whatever #eat things that have WAY more sugar #person i SAW you eat that maple bacon and pancakes with syrup #i saw you drink that orange juice #sugar sugar SUGAR #and that's fine too! sugar is energy! but the lack of awareness is concerning #rambling #food stuff #me #my life #(this is of course vague bitching and not directed at anyone who CAN'T have some of these things bc of medical issues)

q.... how does one go about informing/reaching out to people about having suicidal thoughts

#wak #negative /#suicide tw #i'm not doing anything/planning to do anything to myself dw #but. I've been having more and more of those Thoughts™ recently #and Ik if I let them fester and stay silent about it I'm going to end up doing something extremely dumb #I have literally no access to any therapist rn and haven't since 2018 #but. if I tell my grandmother it's just going to upset her even more #and if I tell my mom she's going to find some way to antagonize me about it/tell me that I'm wrong and abusive for having those thoughts-#-or start some type of fight with my grandmother over it and basically doing everything but showing me empathy and compassion #my siblings are. out of the question lol #there's my friends but.. my friends aren't my therapists and I've lost several friends via whining all the time #and like.... why be selfish and stress them out. as if they don't have their own issues to deal with #and I'm.. really not willing to call any hotlines (esp since idk which ones are good and I absolutely Do Not want cops sent to my place)#so. rn I'm just sitting here with my thumb up my ass I guess #and ngl fsr I'm actually kind of embarrassed about having the thoughts but. that does nothing to help me lol #just.. idk

My best friend and I were talking about our favorite moments in the SW prequels even though we both have issues with them, and there was one that we solidly (but kind of unexpectedly) agreed on.

It's actually in Attack of the Clones and from Hayden Christensen as teenage Anakin, in a moment where we really thought he shone—the return to Tatooine.

In particular, we both loved how he questions Watto, his former owner, who talks as if their history would be nostalgic for Anakin somehow and as a Jedi, Anakin might do him favors now. Watto admits he sold Anakin's mother to some guy who freed and married her, but is purposefully vague on the details, and Anakin just quietly says something along the lines of "I'd like to know."

This could be kind of empty or OTT hostile, and in our opinion, it's really neither! There's a certain, hmm, lingering politeness, but there is also an underlying menace that we thought perfectly fit the circumstances and his character.

(We also thought and liked that he seemed weirded out by the Lars situation. I mean, when you think about "this guy bought my mother in order to marry her, but also legally freed her" from Anakin's POV, it is an extremely strange situation to be in.)

#it's interesting bc we both love ot anakin but tend to see him a bit differently bc of our respective issues with our fathers (lol)#whereas we were solidly on the same page with the prequels #and sometimes amuse ourselves by spinning this whole alternate version with obi-wan as tragic hero #but the plot is basically the same #anghraine babbles #star wars #anakin skywalker #pt critical #by implication though this isn't about that!#fandom has a very ... hmm. soft and romantic take on the skywalker-lars tie #but sometimes i wonder not only about anakin being kind of '......' about the whole thing (justifiably tyvm)#but about luke growing up with that mind-boggling family history #and how it affected his sense of himself as a skywalker (bc this /is/ clearly his sense of himself in the films)#but also his genuine affection for his uncle and aunt #like... i saw a post the other day about how tatooine is the equivalent of the modern rural usa #but i mean ... luke might /feel/ like a us small town kid who wants out in a recognizable way #but tatooine is legitimately an arid hellscape controlled by gangsters #who keep people as slaves including luke's father and grandmother #his father was freed and made a career for himself as far as luke knows (but died young anyway)#his grandmother was freed and found a family (but was tortured to death anyway)#he might well walk past her grave every day until owen and beru are also killed #i feel like his emotions about all this might possibly be more complex than 'ungrateful whiny kid in space usa'#long post #in the tags :P
