Finished him! Color looks a lot different in person. My phone and the lighting washed it out some.
This is some concept art for Ghost King Father!Jason todd as he eventually appears in my fic, Imprint.
Decided to slap the Red Hood bat on his chest like a breast plate and I really like the way it looks. Still tweaking colors and making final decisions on the face, but I think I'll stay with these horns. And the crown is still undecided but this is kind of what I ended up finally thinking of. I went with green jewels to go with his eyes and Lazlo (name pending? Let me know what you think. Might run a poll soon on the Pit tiger's name).
Anyway this was a much bigger undertaking than I thought it would be when I started, but it was one hell of a stretch to get back into making art again.
(Sorry about the state of my signature, lmfao. I'm in the middle of designing one and I'm playing with ideas)
Media is basically whatever I found in the kitchen sink and then some. Anyway, it's time for a nap.

The Au is Ra has been using the Lazarus pits for so long that causes him to see Danny like a human or his normal Phantom form Ra the only one that sees Danny like that
I love the idea of Deadly Decision getting together but Ra has no idea that Danny is no human he just thinks that Danny has his own Lazarus pit hidden somewhere away from him
Like Danny is full blown glowing white hair, green eyes, Sharp Fangs, an electrical being
Ra point at tall being of Life And Death it looks like he's about to rip you apart: This Is My Wife Danny.
Like sometimes people just ask him if he sees anything unhumanly about Danny and
Ra is like: What Are You Talking About ?
Danny's in the background forming Stars into his hand I'm trying to make himself a new sword
Talia and Dusan we're raised by Danny and Ra they just gotten used to also considering getting to be a normal human they find it hilarious to play along with their other two siblings Dan and Danielle that Mom is human
Slade: I've been meaning to ask what about that monster Ra has locked up back there
Talia: You Mean Mother
Slade: that's your mother I didn't know Ra al Ghul was attracted to on human beings
Dusan: what do you mean unhumanly our mother is perfectly normal he's not even assassin
Danielle walking out of his shadow: Maybe Your Mother Was The Weird One
Dan floating near Talia: Get the hell out how dare you disrespect our Mama
All of them are girlboss, gatekeep, and gaslight people into believe Danny is normal
Damien will give warning that his grandmother does not look like a Human they were all expecting meta not electric being
Danny got so used to Ra al Ghul no his Husban treating him like a normal person when he's like this that he forgot that everyone might not that treat him like that
Honestly? I love this.
And you know what? Danny might need someone like that, who even as his humanity slips away still treats him as human, as not an eldritch creature of Space, of everything Between. Someone who treats him as well, him. Is his and Ras relationship healthy? Well maybe not in human terms, but do either of them count as such anymore?
The idea of the kids playing along is also amazing lol. Especially that Jordan and Ellie? Definitely same hat as Danny. Sure their forms still look sort of human, but that just makes it very uncanny valley. So others and siblings who treat them the same? They need it just as much- if nothing else than to not become so arrogant and uncaring of humanity that they could watch the world end without a blink.
Which, Damian! I bet Danny absolutely adores the grandbaby. I bet he crafts little ice bats and miniature planets to swirl above his crib. I bet he has a literal strip of space and stars on his ceiling. And Damian isn't the only grandbaby too- Dusan has a daughter in some timelines too. Not to mention Ras' adoptive daughter Nyssa, who he gave one of the Lazarus Pits to.
But speaking of Damian, I have to know what that would mean for Jason. Who was practically completely braindead before being thrown into the Pit. Who would have probably met Danny while there because I can't see Danny not also gently doting on another grandson.
Gosh I honestly am just really enjoying this whole thing lol.

Chapter 41/49 of “Batman, Meet Team Phantom” is now posted! We’re in the home stretch now! This is story 5 in the “Ghosts in Gotham” series (LINK). Chapter 1 of this story is HERE.
Chapter 41 Summary:  Danny and Bruce get ready to go meet Jack. Jack's psychiatrist has a few words to say about that...
Teaser:
Bruce was exhausted. It had taken nearly every one of the twenty-four hours that Danny had given him to get the private visit set up between the Ghost King and his former human father. Diana had understood Danny’s need to see Jack Fenton immediately, and was only with her support that Bruce was able to convince the others that it was not only the correct thing to do, but it was also Danny’s right to face Jack. Jack also had the right to face his accuser, although Danny wasn’t meeting him in that capacity.
Exactly twenty-four hours after their last conversation, Batman’s com chirped with an incoming message from Danny. “Batman here.” He was so tired.
“Were you able to make the arrangements for me?” Danny sounded emotionless and flat. Bruce couldn’t help but wonder what that meant for Jack. The Bat knew better than most the effect of keeping your internal chaos in lockdown so that you were able to function. He could hear the sound of that chaos echoing behind Danny’s voice—but only someone close to Danny, or someone who relied on that tactic heavily would be able to notice it.
“It’s done, son. Meet me at the cafeteria in ten minutes. I want to make sure you go into that meeting at your absolute best, and that includes being fed. Your appointment with Jack is in ninety minutes. I’ll take you there myself.”
~~~~~~~
The doctor looked at Danny from his feet to his head. “Funny, you don’t look like a ghost.”
Danny shook his head. “You’d be surprised, Doctor. Many ghosts can pass for human, and do—all the time. I just have a few extra abilities that make it easier to pass as fully human when I want to.”
“Hm.” Dr. Levinson said. “They told me that your father helped kill you—yet you’re standing right before me, and you look fine. What am I supposed to believe?”
A look of irritation crossed Danny’s face. Rings of light appeared at his waist. Suddenly Danny Phantom, in hazmat gear, sans crown, was standing before the doctor now. His blue-toned skin and fangs looked anything but human. “Is this better, doc?”
The doctor’s eyes went wide, and his face went as pale as his dark complexion would allow. His mouth hung open slightly. He looked like he wanted to speak, but couldn’t find the words. Finally, Danny took pity on the man. He reached out and grabbed the man’s hand, placing it on his wrist. “Feel for a pulse, doc.”
Dr. Levinson did as requested, and his face scrunched up in confusion. He tried several places, but was unable to find a pulse anywhere. Finally he stuttered. “Can…can I take your temperature?” (He had noticed how cold Danny was.)
Danny gave a sad smile. “Sure doc, whatever you want.”
Dr. Aaron Levinson left for the nurses’ station as quickly as his feet could carry him. It wasn’t every day you got proof of life beyond death. He grabbed a thermometer and a blood pressure cuff with a stethoscope and ran back to Danny and Batman.
The first thing he did was take Danny’s temperature. The digital thermometer kept reading “low” no matter how many times the doctor tried. He used the BP cuff next. After five attempts at getting a reading on Danny’s blood pressure, he was forced to admit that the young man simply did not have one. He looked Danny over. “Fascinating.” He whispered.
DPXDC Prompt. Dead on main with priest Jason: Father Todd brings the Ghost King’s cult into the World of the Living.
So, when Jason dies and returns, the League of Assassins fails to hold him for long because spirits from Far Frozen pick him up after seeing teen through the Lazarus pit.
Jason quickly realizes that, well, they’re kinda obsessed with their cult of the Great One. And yeah the cult of the ruling Ghost King was very popular during the reign of the Pariah Dark but back then the rituals were carried out more out of fear. Now things are different. The population of the Ghost Zone has become interested in the activities of Frostbite and his loyal spirits because of an attempt to understand what kind of ghost the new ruler is and how best to thank and appease him. So Jason had no shortage of stories about the teenager's deeds.
~~~~
Jason to Frostbite: Well, you guys and your lil hobby are nice but I don't understand at all what's so cool about this guy, even if he defeated Pariah Dark and gets along with most of the Ancients…
Danny: *comes to visit Frostbite*, *slips and falls three times, sets the kitchen on fire in an attempt to make coffee then sheepishly smiles at Jason*.
Jason to Frostbite: ... Okay, Understandable, I Hope Danny Has a Nice Day and Some Sleep.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tucker: Congratulations, you've acquired another Paulina. Great job. Danny: I'd rather he just asked me out instead of worshipping me. What the hell? I'm just a semi-ghost.
Tucker: Maybe things would be easier if you just gave him your phone number, you know? Danny: But he didn't ask. Tucker: Why didn't you ask? Danny: I couldn't! He's Robin himself, you know? Tucker: Well, good luck to you idiots to grow old alone near the altars of each other's name. Danny: Actually lil altar in his honor is not such a bad idea. Maybe this way he'll understand that I like him too.. Tucker: Danny, no!
~~~~
New in Gotham robbers break into Jason's place: Hey, father, God ordered you to share with your neighbors, so bring us some money or we.. Jason, who is talking on the phone with Danny: In fact, he just said that if you don't get out of here now, he will turn a blind eye to the fact that I will use my guns.
Danny*screams internally*: Oh Ancients, he's sooo cool!
Pandora: Honey, we're happy for you but stop flooding us with spam. You have already told 5 times during prayer how good his abs and chest look and how perfect Todd is when he reads aloud. We get it, okay? Clockwork: Well, I actually enjoy it. It's so much more interesting to watch while listening to the internal dialogue. Show must go on~ Danny: ...Get out of my mind! Nocturn: Thou shalt not take the name of the Lords in vain if you don't want to share with us, lil blob. So rude.
Amity Park didn’t return to Illinois after they were transported to the ghost zone.
After all, the Zone is fickle even in transporting singular entities like the smallest blob ghost. How about an entire town, with all those people in it?
Instead of Illinois, they end up slightly off the coast of New Jersey, a long time before Amity Park, Illinois ever existed.
Fixing damages that happened to the town during the transfer is considered a total loss, so they scrap everything and rebuild. Since the ghost issue seems to not be going anywhere ever, the decision to lean into the aesthetic and embrace it instead of denying and fighting it is nearly unanimous (save for a few ghost hunters here and there, but they are the minority).
It’s easy to slide into their new existence. Things are very different from the modern life they’re all used to, but much is still the same.
Phantom is always there to protect.
Hauntings are a part of their very foundations.
Amity Park was always pretty isolated, all things considered. So they continue on.
Tucker later on becomes mayor of the new town Gotham (Sam has a heavy hand in convincing everyone to go along with the name). He holds his position much longer and with far higher approval ratings than his predecessor.
Sam eventually marries someone who moved to the newly established Gotham from the mainland, on a business venture, whose last name is Wayne.
Together, they inherit what’s left of the immense Manson wealth.
People from the mainland come and go, providing economy. Not a lot of them stick around, too uneasy of the supernaturally dreary atmosphere of Gotham Island and it’s frankly hostile architecture. The Amitians — Gothamites now — don’t really get it. What’s wrong with ghosts??
The original townspeople are so saturated with ectoplasm at this point that they’ve ceased aging. They die eventually, but immediately become ghosts and just make the trip through the portal to become citizens of Phantom’s kingdom in the Infinite Realms. All things considered, nothing much changes after death, either.
However, it’s soon decided that before any more new people can move to Gotham, the portal must be closed and locked for the safety of the regular humans who are not as immune to the influence of the Zone.
So the portal is buried and hidden, locked and guarded by the eternal soldiers of the Ghost King, the key safely kept on the King’s person at all times.
Life goes on. Years pass. The true origins of Gotham fall into the realm of the forgotten. Eventually, it becomes what it is today.
Batman and all.
The Batcave is more home to Bruce Wayne than even the manor that caps it. That’s because in the cave, he is a step closer to a portal to the Infinite Realms that has been locked and hidden deep underneath the land that once belonged to his ancestors, the Manson-Waynes.
As a direct descendant of one of the original Amity Park townspeople, and one who was (is) so closely tied to the haunt of the Ghost King himself, Bruce has always had a special and innate connection to the town and the land that his city is built on, but never really knew why.
He just thinks of it as his father Thomas explained it to him; the Manson-Waynes, later the Waynes, had been one of the founding families families of Gotham — alongside the Fenton, Baxter, and Sanchez families. Since the other families have long since died out, it’s up to the Waynes to uphold their legacy, and that duty falls to Bruce.
Or so that’s how Thomas, who knew nothing of Gotham’s ghostly, Amitian origins, understood it.
It’s not until Jason, back from the dead, becomes a regular part of the family again, that Bruce starts feeling as if something is different about the cave, and then later the city at large.
Almost as if it’s been awakened, somehow.
It’s me, hi I’m the problem is me (dead tired)
The world was ending.
That was the thing Tim had come to accept. Somehow, all of the big bads had made friends and decided to work together to take over the universe and split it amongst themselves. Darkseid, Trigun, Barbatos, they had all gotten together to conquer the universe. Raven was completely drained, The supers three were in the infirmary, and the Lanterns Corp were barely holding them back, losing every second. Hell, even the Justice League Dark were down for the count.
“What are we doing to do?” Nightwing murmured, watching as the Lanterns slowly lost momentum.
“I-I don’t know,” Bruce whispered. Tim’s adoptive father had ripped of his cowl, his hair stood mussed from continuously running his fingers through his hair in stress. Batman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman stood over all of the contingencies Bruce had ever collected on the three big bads.
Robin stared at the screen that showed the devastation, a frown prominent on his face. “So this is it? We just give up?”
“No,” Red Hood said walking into the room with Arsenal and Starfire in tow. Behind the three stood a young man. He had Lazarus green eyes, snow white hair, slightly blue skin, and pointed ears. His body adorned in black armor, a blue crown floated above his head and a large cape hung from his body with galaxies swirling around. He looked to be Tim’s age, maybe just a little older than him, somewhere between his and Jason’s age.
“Who’s this?”
The being stepped forward, jewelry that hung from his ears tinkled slightly when he did and jeez, he was beautiful.
“My name is Phantom,” the being said with a serene smile. He was otherworldly, unlike anything Tim had ever seen in his life. “I am High King of the Infinite Realms. Jason asked me to come and assist with an issue you are dealing with,” he said, his eyes flicked to the large monitor curiously, tilting his head to the side, the silver that hng from his ears clangled once more. “Ah, those three, how fun.”
“How do you uh, how do you know Jason?” Tim asked, stepping towards the king.
At this, Phantom had an amused smile on his face as he looked back at Jason. “You never told them?”
Jason let out a groan of annoyance, pinching the bridge of his nose as he did. “When I died, Phantom found me in the ghost zone, I never actually moved one when I died. For those six months I just hung out in the ghost zone and became friends with Phantom. Before I came back, he declared me as one of his Fright Knights. And last years he ran into me during one of my missions and brought back my memories from when I died and fixed the pit rage.”
Phantom nodded, a wide grin on his face. “Jason made a lousy ghost. Now, how about I go fix this issue for you all real quick?” He said before he disappeared. Tim went to ask Jason about Phantom only for his father to beat him to the punch.
“Is this why we haven’t been able to get in contact with you?” Bruce asked, furrowing his brow. Jason shrugged.
“Couldn’t find the sword he left me that lets me summon him. Turns out I left it on Kori’s ship so she had to travel to come get me. From there it took a bit for me to remember how to summon him, I’ve never actually done it before so it took a few tries to get it right. And of course Phantom thought it was a social call and he loves to talk so it took a little bit to explain. And on top of that, time works different in the Realms. And Klarion was there so it just took a little longet than I wanted it to but he’s here and he’ll take care of the issue super quick.”
“Klarion?”
“Yeah he’s dating Phantom’s clone, he hates their relationship like a lot but it’s like two little chaos gremlins,” Jason said with a chuckle.
“How old is Phantom?” Tim blurted out.
Jason gave the nineteen year old a confused look but chuckled nonetheless. “He’s twenty.”
“Twenty and he is already a king?” Aquaman said, looking more and more interested in Phantom.
“Been king since he was fourteen,” Jason said, sucking at his teeth before he looked at the monitor and started snickering. Tim followed his gaze and smiled when he saw Phantom grow a third arm and grabbed all three beings by their ears, shrinking them down to his size before he dragged them away from the Lanterns before they disappeared.
Soon after the four reappeared in front of Bruce, Diana and Arthur who all looked on curiously.
“Kneel,” Phantom ordered. The three beings fell harshly to their knees. “I am beyond disappointed in the three of you. Are your realms not enough? What makes you think that you have the right to take over dimensions that do not belong to you?”
“But-” Trigon started.
“No buts from you, Trigon. The only reason you’re even still the ruler of your world is because none of your children want the position,” Phantom said. “Due to your crimes against this realm I hearby sentence you all to a millenia in the Fright Zone. Jason,” he instructed.
Jason grinned and pulled his sword from its sheath and stepped forward. With a quick swipe, all three disappeared from view.
Phantom stepped towards the three heroes and dipped his head in a polite bow. “They should not cause anymore issues. I apologize that I could not get here sooner. While I may be ll power, I am not all seeing and Kronos does not always deem it fit to tell me when my underlings are causing issues,” he said with a polite smile. “Does anyone have any paper or something to write on?”
“I uh, I have a tablet, I can just pull up something,” Tim stammered, stepping forward. Phantom smiled in thanks, taking the tablet from Tim. He drew out a complicated sigil and set it on the large table.
“This is my official line. Next time you are in a situation such as this, please do not hesitate to summon me,” he said before he looked at Tim and looked him up and down, a single fang peeked from under his lip. “As for you, Handsome, feel free to get my personal sigil from your brother and call me anytime.”
Before Tim could say another word, the High King disappeared and Tim immediately turned towards his brother with wide eyes. “ Jason ,” he hissed.
“He’s my fucking friend! I don’t want you dating him,” Jason shouted, running out of the room with Tim following close behind.
As per tradition;
On the day of the coronation, it's mandatory for the soon to be crowned king/queen to dance with the lords and ladies of the infinite realms (read: family members), dead or alive, as well as the royal council.
Seeing as the fact that his coronation is probably right around the corner, Danny panics. Why? Well, because he has no knowledge of ballroom dancing. Though, that's fine! At least his late grandparents knows! The other problem? Well, he doubts that it'll be a good idea for him to practice with his adoptive dad's parents, considering he hasn't seen them in years...and because they're ghosts....
Cue his genius idea to do it when his family's out and about. Thank ancients they respected the fact that he refused to become a vigilante. (honestly he doubts being the king of an entire dimension is a better fate but whatever)
So he sneaks into one of the many large rooms that are used to hold his father's galas, and practices with miss and mister Martha and Thomas Wayne. It's a miracle that none of his siblings found out for a pretty long while, but one day out of all people, all of them caught him.
Yes, all of them.
*pregnant silence*
Bruce: "Lad, is that—"
Jason: "Holy sh—"
Dick: "Danny I'm—"
Damian: "What is the meaning of this—"
Duke & Tim: "Is that—"
Martha: "Oh hush, all of you. You're scaring the boy!"
Thomas: "Hello, children! Care to dance with us?"
Bruce: "Danny—"
Danny: "Dad I'm sorry for not telling you I just didn't want you to be mad—"
Bruce: "..Danny"
Bruce Wayne is the reincarnation of Jack Fenton 1
The trauma of losing his family so early in his new personal development has vaguely awakened some of his memories where he also lost his family in his previous life. He has to be better this time, not repeat his mistakes, not be so careless this time HE HAS TO!
When he sees Dick and picks him up, he feels like he's missing someone.
When Barbara joins their duo, things get worse.
When he takes Jason in, it calms down slightly… only to go to hell when he dies.
When Tim arrives he has to do it by force because he feels like he's failed once again and doesn't deserve the trust of a new boy…
After returning from the time stream, he meets Damian ... the green eyes… he feels like… he's seen him before? But all his behavior is wrong and the impression disappears… partially, he MUST help this his boy to be better!
It begins to have different nightmares ... nightmares White and Green Lazare
As Jason comes back from the dead, he feels like he's walking on eggshells, after all he's already failed once at accepting dead… he's not sure why
Things seem to be improving, he also welcomes Cass who seems right, then Duke who seems different but close to something he already knew good
Then comes an invocation of worship that he was unable to prevent, the circle breathes an icy breath into the room and the ice crystals regroup to take on a lazarus green hue… but strangely… he did not not afraid, he is nervous, he feels guilty, but he is not afraid… the ice takes on black and white hues and becomes a humanoid silhouette
Green eyes open
Danny: DAD?!????
Suffice to say that the still young king was not ready to see his father again, his dead father… just after a big argument with his mother after a revelation which made her flee, then the news of his death had him banished himself and all the ghosts of his home world from their land to the zone because the GiW had got their hands on their patent and they had to cut this reality from the multiverse to avoid the destruction of the latter. It was hard and…
For Danny it didn't last a week
tomorrow I will publish a version with fewer details
The King's Favorite
The only possession that Catherine left Jason was an ice rose. She commented that it was some kind of family charm, that it had been with them for many generations and brought luck and that she knew the rose would save him one day. The last image Jason had of his mother was her smile as she handed him the rose.
Jason was always curious about the rose, it was cold and he swore it was made of solid ice but that should be impossible since it didn't melt. He was never brave enough to tell Bruce about it; maybe it was dumb, but he didn't want his paranoid father to take away the last memory of his mother.
The day Jason died he mocked the rose, neatly nestled in his bag a few meters away. Luck? Not at all. Saving? What a joke. While he closed his eyes he regretted everything he did wrong, everything he didn't get to live. As his tears fell to the warehouse floor, the rose slipped out of his bag, as if it went through it.
Unbeknownst to Jason, the ice rose ended up near his foot and began to fuse with his skin, leaving a small blue tattoo on his ankle, and for some reason, in his last few minutes, Jason felt warm.
A month after being buried, the tattoo began to glow blue. At midnight a voice was heard in the empty Gotham Cemetery.
"Wake up, my little Rose"
Jason's eyes snapped open in confusion as he woke up in his coffin. The Ghost King smirked as he looked at his chosen one while sitting on his throne of ice in the Infinite Realms, a new heir, huh?
Ghost on the Stairs
**alright, alright. I asked and y'all answered. Here's my siblings Bruce and Danny fic!**
“Boo!”
Bruce clattered to a stop on the floor, holding his arms out for his baby brother as the boy toddled his way forward.
“Hey, Danny! Did you miss me while I was at school?”
Danny waved chubby arms, clearly delighted that Bruce was waiting for him. He was all of two years to Bruce’s seven, and the two of them were almost inseparable.
Chancing a look over to his mother, Bruce found her and father smiling fondly at the two of them. Alfred was coming up behind them with a tea tray.
“Boo!”
Bruce turned back to his brother, only to lurch forward as his tiny brother took a step straight into a swirling green portal that opened up from nowhere.
Danny’s screech as he fell was cut off by the portal shutting with a snap, leaving Bruce on his hands and knees, reaching for air.
Mother, father, and Alfred all clustered around him as he began to cry, and the four of them began desperately looking for the youngest member of the family.
They never found him, and a year later, Bruce lost his parents to a gun. At least that was something he could fight against.
When Bruce became Batman at the age of twenty-two, he finally erected a gravestone for his baby brother, right next to their parents. If Danny ever came back, he wouldn’t be the same boy who had vanished.
~~~
Red Robin swung into the building, breaking through the window with his momentum. The cult surrounding a magic circle on the floor of the warehouse had been causing a ruckus in Gotham, and the bats had finally had enough.
Just as they finished knocking out the cultists, the magic circle flared to life and a green pool bloomed from the floor.
Tim, purely out of scientific curiosity, leaned closer, only to be pulled back roughly by Batman.
“Stay away from it.”
“B?”
Batman grabbed a batarang from where it had landed in the melee and threw it with a precise hand, cutting through one of the lines of chalk surrounding the pool.
Narrowing his eyes, Tim watched Bruce’s face- his expression right now was all Bruce, no Bat in sight- sorrow mixed with relief.
Once the pool had vanished completely, Bruce pulled Tim into his arms.
“Woah, what’s up B?”
“I cannot lose you too.”
The moment passed, and Red Robin found himself following Batman as the vigilante swept out of the building.
~~~
“Constantine.”
“Bats. Nice of you to call. What do you need?”
“I sent you a data packet. What is the summoning circle for?”
Constantine was quiet for a long while as he perused the files Bruce had sent him. Bruce paced in front of the batcomputer, glad that all his children were in bed for the night. Somehow they had known something was wrong, and every single one of them had come to the manor- even Jason.
“Looks like an attempt to summon a being of the Infinite Realms to me.”
“Infinite Realms?”
“Mhmm. The afterlife, if you will.”
Bruce couldn’t help the small wheeze as his airways caught. Constantine didn’t seem to notice, as he continued.
“The ghosts haven’t been as active lately, not since the new king came into power. It’s been maybe two decades since?”
“I would like to meet this king.”
“Why?”
“It would be politically intelligent of us to make allies.”
Constantine sighed, long and loud.
“Fine. Give me a week to gather up the stuff.”
~~~
Jason glanced over the thin information brief that Bruce handed down, skimming it at first, until something caught his eye.
“B?”
“Hn.”
“According to this, the being we’re trying to summon is damn powerful. Wouldn’t it be better to do this on the Watchtower with more backup?”
“Yeah B,” Dick chimed in, “Constantine’s report does say that the guy is rumored to be a wandering spirit, which limits his power, but what if that’s not right?”
Jason looked back down at the papers, his eyes darting through to find out what a wandering spirit was.
A ghost that couldn’t find its grave. Part of Jason ached at the thought, and he didn’t quite understand why.
“Fine. We will summon the king at the Watchtower.”
Small victories.
~~~
Bruce was not a praying man, and yet here he was, hoping against hope that this ghost could assist him in finding out what happened to his brother.
The sigils on the floor flared to light, and a now familiar green portal swirled into being. The entire room waited with bated breath for a few moments, and then a young woman rose from the portal.
Batman knew what it felt like to be stabbed. There was no way he could have been, and yet there was a knife in his gut as he stared at this girl who looked so much like his mother, except for the inverted colors.
“The Ghost King thanks you for your call- Unfortunately he is currently unavailable. Please leave your message after the-“ the girl’s professional, almost robotic voice petered off. “Wait a minute- it’s here!”
Her eyes were wide, as was the smile she flashed at the group.
“Please hold.”
She sunk back into the pool, and Bruce took a step towards it, despairing of his chance.
And then she returned, dragging a young man up with her.
“Can you feel it, Phantom? It’s here! We can find it!”
“Calm down, Phantasm. We can go looking soon- first we need to find out why I was summoned.”
The young man turned to Diana, who was standing at the front of the group. She had been chosen as diplomatic leader, seeing as she was a Princess and Ambassador.
“Pardon my sister, how may I assist?”
Bruce let their conversation wash over him as he cataloged the young man’s features. They were so very similar- so close.
The man was both too young and too old. Daniel would be in his mid-forties had he lived, and only two if he’d died. This young man couldn’t be older than thirty.
As Diana’s explanation ended, the young man smiled.
“I agree. It would be advantageous of us to be allies, knowing what I know of this reality now. As allies, I must ask- what is the real reason I was summoned?”
He turned his green (wrong, too much like Damian’s) eyes to Bruce.
“Will you explain? The summoning was filled with great longing for something.”
Bruce stumbled forward, and surely to the shock of his teammates, friends, and children, fell to his knees before the king.
“My- my brother. He fell through a portal so similar to yours and I- I need to know what happened to him. Please.”
The king and his sister looked at each other before looking back at Bruce.
“The Infinite Realms are just that, infinite. However, I may be able to help.”
“Phantom!”
The king ignored his sister.
“What was his name, this brother of yours?”
Bruce hadn’t spoken his brother’s name in decades.
“Danny. Daniel Wayne.”
The room was so silent he could have heard a pin drop.
“And you gave him a grave when he never returned to you.”
Bruce looked up at the king, who was looking back contemplatively. The king’s sister was staring up at her brother with her mouth agape.
“I did.”
The king was very, very quiet, and the moment stretched on and on and on.
After a time, the room grew darker as the green pool closed slowly, and the two ghosts landed with barely a whisper of sound.
“I died at age fourteen,” the king began, musing his own thoughts. “As I died, I thought that the color of the ectoplasm surrounding me was too familiar in color and movement for that to have been my first experience with a portal.”
He took a step towards Bruce.
“It was terrifying and I was so afraid that I would be ripped away from everything I ever loved again.”
Two bright white rings circled the king, and Bruce found himself looking at a man who looked just like his mother, but with a twitch of the lips that was entirely his father’s.
“Hello, Boo. I’m afraid I can’t remember your name properly.”
Bruce took his cowl off slowly, wanting his baby brother to see him despite the fact that he was crying.
“We’ve got his chin, Danny.”
The girl was standing a little behind Danny, smiling. She winked at Bruce.
“He always did want to find his bio family.”
Bruce held his hand out, and Danny took it, using his position and apparently superior strength to pull Bruce into a hug.
“Bruce. Bruce Wayne.”
“Danny Nightingale- well. Nightingale-Wayne, I suppose.”
~~~
Danielle Nightingale (Wayne?) watched her original and his brother(!?!) hug it out. The big man in black was obviously not used to hugs.
“Miss?”
She turned to the inquirer, the nice looking ambassador from before. (Sue her, Dani hadn’t been listening to the conversation. She had been trying to pinpoint the location of their grave!)
“How can I help?”
Ambassador lady smiled at her.
“We were unaware that our teammate had siblings, and clearly Daniel has introduced himself. May we ask your name?”
Dani grinned.
“Oh, I’m not a sibling. I’m sibling-adjacent. Sibling clone? One of those. My name is Danielle, but I go by Dani with an i. It gets a little confusing since he’s Danny with a y.”
“I see. Welcome to the Watchtower, Dani. May I ask what you and his majesty are looking for that was found here?”
“Our grave, of course! Since I’m Danny’s clone, I can feel it too- a little distantly, but it’s not like I’ll get my own. I was born dead.”
Ambassador lady was looking a little faint. Dani took pity on her.
“But now I’m a kickass princess, so all’s well that ends well.”
“I suppose so.” The ambassador looked over at Danny and surprise brother with a small smile. “I suppose so indeed.”

Hey, y'all!
I was inspired by this post about authors being happy to talk more about their work and process and in the spirit of putting ourselves out there- is anyone interested in seeing the conceptual stages of Imprint's Halfa!Jason/Ghost King Father!Jason, tall-long-boi form with my notes attached?
I wasn't going to offer since they're ~*rough*~ and I haven't freehanded a personal piece in years, but he's changed so much since the initial sketch. The first fully inked and colored piece is underway now.

summary:
“Reporting live from Gotham City!” The reporter spoke “Here at the scene of the crime where Dr. Collin Kilye, renowned geneticist, has shot himself and has been declared dead by the paramedics. Dr. Kilye is suspected to be responsible for the purposeful switching of newborns between families under his care, where an estimated over 500 babies have been swapped in the last 20 years of his employment here. Based on the information provided to the Gotham PD by Nightwing and Batman, the vigilantes investigating the crime, we are led to believe that Nightwing has been investigating this case after an anonymous tipoff of Dr. Kilye’s suspicious activities. After a month and a half of investigating, Nightwing reason to believe the Dr. Kilye of malpractice and came to his office to investigate-” - Dick had learned that people never know a situation as well as they assume they did. Dick had always assumed that he wouldn’t be one of those people. He was a detective, a Bat, the first Robin. The case file in front of him glared tauntingly. Danny Fenton; Birth Parents: Bruce Wayne (father) and Clarissa King (mother). Status: Alive

Danny sighed, stepping through the front door and into the empty living room not bothering to turn on the lights and tossed his hoodie onto a nearby sofa. Normally Jazz would have berated him for being messy, or maybe Mom would have nagged about Danny being older and needing to clean up after himself. But Jazz was off studying neurology at Harvard. And his parents had gotten an “an amazingly irrefutable offer, Danno” to work at Dalv Co. under their new ecto-technologies sector, that partnered closely with the GIW. So they were usually busy with that.
Not that Danny wasn’t glad to have time apart from his parents. After what Danny only referred to as The Chicago Incident, he could barely stand being in the same room with them. Danny kept quiet about what happened. He hadn't told anyone, not Sam or Tuck or Val or Wes and especially not Jazz. He couldn’t. He’d only managed to survive thanks to the timely aid of Fright Knight and Firebolt (a ghost friend he made when he was stuck in the Ghost Zone during the GIW’s six-month Martial Law lockdown- but that was a story for another time).
Leaving his shoes somewhere by the door, Danny made his way into the kitchen, perusing through the remnants of edible material. The equipment in the basement would have been collecting dust if Danny hadn’t taken his liberties with it. Apart from his newfound and unbounded freedom that he regarded with gratitude, Danny even began dabbling in cooking real people food. And it was definitely because he wanted to and not because he was sick of microwavable food, Jazz.
With Danny’s rendition of chicken alfredo ready, he ate in front of the TV. He flipped through a few channels before just landing back on the news. He half-listened to the anchor telling him about the incoming weather front before the screen abruptly changed, flashing a bright red Breaking News sign for a moment before panning over to a lady in front of what looked like a crime scene.
“I’m Jenifer Blair, reporting live from West Gotham City with Z News!” The reporter spoke urgently over the loud sounds of police and ambulance sirens in the background. “Here at the scene of the crime where Dr. Collin Kilye, renowned geneticist, and lead researcher at West Gotham General Hospital, has shot himself and has been declared dead by the paramedics. Dr. Kilye is suspected to be responsible for the purposeful switching of newborns of families under his care. It is estimated that over 500 babies have been swapped in the last 20 years of his employment here. Based on the information provided to the Gotham PD by Nightwing and Batman, the vigilantes investigating the crime, we have been told that Nightwing has been investigating this case after an anonymous tipoff of Dr. Kilye’s suspicious activities. After a reported month and a half of investigating, Nightwing had reason to suspect Dr. Kilye of malpractice and came to his office to investigate where--”
The sudden sound of his phone ringing brought Danny back to his living room. “Hey, Tuck,” Danny answered, lowering the volume of the TV.
“Danny! Dude! Have you seen the news story of Batman and Nightwing’s recent bust?” Tucker asked, his voice radiating fanboy excitement.
“Wasn’t it mostly just Nightwing?” Danny raised an eyebrow at his friend, even though he couldn’t see it. “Batman showed up later.”
“Yeah, well, Batman and Nightwing-”
“Nightwing and Batman.”
“Okay, whatever- but isn’t this totally insane? It’s like Parent Trap- but illegal.”
“That’s not what happens in Parent Trap.” Danny pointed out for the sole purpose of being annoying.
“It’s the essence, Danny!” Tucker groaned. Danny could practically hear him rolling his eyes through the phone. “We’re still on for the new Doom game tonight?”
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world. The others come by yet?” Danny put his plate in the sink.
“I’m adding them to the call.”
On the third ring, “‘Sup Fenton ‘n Foley. Ready to get your nonexistent butts handed to you?” Val goaded, already hyped for their game.
“Hey! I’ll have you know I have a very nice butt. And Danny’s isn’t anything to scoff at either-” Tucker snapped only to be cut off by Danny.
“Okay! Thanks for the defense, Tuck.” Danny stepped in quickly before the conversation took a turn he did not want to witness.
---
Dick was alone in the BatCave, working out the final details of his case before sending it off to be released publicly. In all of Dick’s years as Robin to Nightwing, this case was easily one of the most disastrous to the general public. Given that it was his case, Dick wanted to make sure it went smoothly. Or as smoothly as telling a family their child isn’t biologically theirs can go.
Sorting through the files and pairing up the families with the correct child was relatively easy, thanks to the incredible details Dr. Kilye stored in his files. If the circumstances were different, Dick would have been amazed at how much data the doctor managed to keep collecting for 568 different subjects of his experiment. Silently praising himself for having already made his way through about half the files, Dick stretched his neck as he clicked the View Next button.
In his line of work, Dick had learned that people never know a person or situation as well as they thought they did. Dick had been confident he wouldn’t be one of those people. He was a detective, a Bat, the first Robin. He knew better than to assume anything. The file that showed up next was chilling proof that he was wrong. For a Bat, the past never stayed in the past.

Updates and Notes:
Deceased on 23 February 20XX (11 days old)
The memories he managed to keep buried for years seized Dick’s senses, and he was back in the hospital waiting room at age 9. None of the others had known about the time Bruce and Thalia had tried to work things out and had given having a family together a try. No LoA business. No Bat or JLA. Just regular(ish) people in a regular(ish) family.
It had gone well for the months before Talia had become pregnant. Even most of the pregnancy had gone smoothly. Dick got to be in an actual family again after the death of his parents. They had dinner together. Talked about their day. Watched movies together.
But then Talia had gotten sick, and the baby ended up coming out a little early. The doctors had told them it was normal and that the baby would probably still be healthy. So Alfred sat in the waiting room with a nervous Dick, excited to meet his first-ever little brother. He’d always wanted a little brother. Bruce came to the waiting room after making Dick and Alfred wait forever and told them they could come in now. Talia, under the alias Clarissa King, was asleep when they entered.
Bruce had told them the doctors had taken Thomas to get cleaned and do a few check-ups. Dick remembered the anxious but excited look on Bruce’s face as he kept glancing at the door, ready to pounce the second the doctor would come back with Dick’s new baby brother.
Except that never happened.
When the doctor came back into the room, he had a clipboard in his hand, not a baby. The Doctor told them to follow him, and they went inside a room with a bunch of machines in it, and in the middle of the room was Dick’s baby brother.
The baby was mostly bald, but he had little bits of black hair on his head, like Bruce and Talia. Dick wondered what color eyes the baby would have. Talia had green eyes, but Bruce and Dick had blue eyes. Alfred had said the baby needed a lot of rest and that’s why he was sleeping so much. Dick would be a good big brother and wait patiently until his baby brother woke up.
But the baby had to stay in the hospital for 10 whole days since Bruce had told Dick that his brother was really sick. Dick would check the nursery to make sure it was ready for his brother before Alfred would take him to the hospital to visit. Dick’s baby brother hadn’t been awake any of those days and Dick never got to find out what color his eyes were.
On the eleventh day, they didn’t go to visit. When Dick asked Alfred why, the butler had walked him to the patch of loose dirt in the backyard marked with a little piece of rock with his brother’s name on it.
Dick had seen that type of rock with his parent’s name on it before.
It meant that he was gone, and Dick would never get to see him again.
When Bruce had introduced Jason Todd and said he would stay with them in the manor, that was the first time Dick had truly ever been betrayed by Bruce.
Jason wasn’t his brother. Thomas was. But Thomas wasn’t here. Jason may get to say he was Bruce’s son too, but he didn’t get to know about Thomas.
Not letting his childhood tears deter him from his new goal, Dick quickly found the associated file. Dick’s heart pounded in his chest while his breath was still stuck somewhere in his throat,

Prefers “Danny”
Dick looked over the file again and again. His baby brother was alive. He had come back.
Should he tell Bruce? Obviously, that was a dumb question. How should he tell Bruce?
Well, Richard Grayson was nothing if not tactful. He pulled out his phone from his jacket pocket, pulled up both files next to each other on the large screen of the Bat Computer, snapped a picture, and clicked send. Bruce was supposed to be having dinner with some important business people or whatnot, so Dick decided he should flee the scene before the Big Bad Bat found him, not wanting to know what his wrath would bestow on him. Heaven forbid, Bruce might even talk about emotions.
He closed all the files, stored them in a flash drive, and wiped them from the computer. After all, this was his case, and he’d be the one to see it through. Dick was right in front of the elevator when the doors opened to reveal Tim.
“You’re done?” Tim asked, raising a suspicious brow.
“I have a flight to catch.” Dick said, “I need to pack.”
“Is it for a case?” Tim asked, putting his phone in his pocket.
“Yeah. Be the bestest brother ever and cover for me?” Dick pleaded, flashing his signature smile.
“Why should I?” He huffed already a few feet away from where Dick stayed.
With a smirk, “‘Cause you don’t want Bruce to know what taking the Batmobile out for a ‘joyride’ was really for,” Dick said with a smirk.
Tim turned around, alarmed. “Fine, I’ll cover. But you better not tell.” Tim hissed at him.
“Scout’s Honor.” Dick winked before catching the elevator.
“You weren’t even a Scout.” He heard Tim complain before the doors fully shut.
Three hours later, Dick landed in Chicago, Illinois and hailed a cab to take him the rest of the 1-and-a-half-hour drive to Amity Park. Where Thomas  Daniel Danny lived. Dick hadn’t exactly planned this whole excursion through, which wasn’t very trained-by-Batman of him. But Dick knew how to do things by the nose when he needed to.
He had used the time in the plane to finish the rest of the files, which he completed quickly with his ultimatum in mind. Dick purposely ignored every notification vibrating in his pocket knowing he would be facing the wrath of either Tim or Bruce.
But now he was sitting in a car for one-and-a-half hours with nothing to look out for except the darkness of the night and a relatively empty road. He opened his phone to 56 messages and missed calls. He scrolled through the groupchat, ignoring it when it was just talking about regular stuff. Next, he opened his messages from Tim.
Timbers: Dick.
Timbers: what did you do?????
Timbers: when you said cover I thought you meant for patrol or smt
Timbers: not whatever beef Bruce apparently has with you??
Timbers: I demand compensation!!!
Timbers: [1 video]
Dick opened the video Tim sent him. It was 90 seconds of security camera feed from right above the elevator. Bruce’s hair was disturbed from his usual well-done look he kept for business meetings and his tie was undone. He stormed towards the Bat Computer where Tim was doing whatever Tim does on the computer. Despite being dressed in business attire, Dick could practically see the flurrying of the Batman cape behind him as he walked. Bruce whipped the chair Tim sat on around to face him so fast that Tim nearly fell off.
‘Where’s Dick?’ The camera was a bit far but still picked up Bruce’s echoing voice. To Dick’s surprise, and seemingly Tim’s as well, Bruce didn’t seem mad. Disgruntled, alarmed, slipping from sanity? Yes. Genuinely angry? Not quite. It made Dick feel a little guilty. Only a little, though.
‘I dunno,’ Tim said, still reeling from the surprise attack.
Bruce pushed Tim’s chair away from the computer, scavenging through the files, no doubt looking for the files on Thomas and Danny. Unfortunately for Bruce, every single one of those files was secure in Dick’s jacket pocket. Bruce would come to realize that soon enough, as he took a shaky breath and stepped away from the screen.
The video ended.
That explained the 12 missed calls from Bruce. Dick debated calling him back. No doubt Bruce would ask for an explanation. An explanation he still has yet to come up with.
Deciding this was a problem for future Dick, present Dick decided he would let himself doze off for the rest of the cab ride to his destination.

Minty's Master Post
So, I've been asked a couple times for a master post
DPXDC Prompt #43
Danny had kept many secrets from his family over the years. He kept his history as an ex-assassin secret, the fact that he had a twin a secret, the fact that he had died (well half died), and he kept that he was technically king of all ghosts a secret too. He was gearing up to tell his parents about everything he was and this trip to Gotham that they were planning.
There was a science convention that his parents were invited too. Little did they know a group of cultists were planning on kidnapping his family as a sacrifice to the ghost king, they needed 5 and they figured the Fentons would be good, a family of ghost hunters getting sacrificed to the king? They needed a 5th so they also kidnapped a Damian Wayne.
now all 5 of them are in a room, Danny doesn’t even know what’ll happen when the summoning doesn’t work and he knows it won’t seeing as you can’t summon the king into a room he’s already in.
DPXDC Prompt #58
Gotham is a city with a lot of ambient ectoplasm, enough that the Fentons move here instead of Amity Park. Danny being a pretty smart kid being the son of 2 scientists gets a scholarship to Gotham academy where he makes friends with Tim and Damian. Well the 2 were only doing it at first because they wanted to keep an eye on them scientists rarely didn’t become rouges in Batman’s gallery so can you really blame them for being cautious?
Danny is telling them about the portal that they were trying to build and how it wasn’t working and how Danny felt guilty about it. The 3 venture down there when the parents are gone and Danny wearing his hazmat goes into the portal while the other 2 watch on. Danny trips and no one’s having a good time.
They decided to take Danny to Wayne manor until they can figure out what exactly happened to him, unfortunately Danny’s new powers act up and he winds up phasing through the floor into the basement… or more accurately the Bat cave.
this one has been changed a bit from the prompt but I think those changes are more natural
DPXDC Prompt #61
In one universe Damian was sent to live with his father at age 10, in another he winds up escaping Nanda Parbat to America after faking his death. He changed his name to Danny and moves in with a family called the Fentons. Danny dies and is revived by the portal and even becomes king of the infinite realms.
Danny falls through a portal into Gotham but not his universes Gotham but one where he becomes Robin instead. He and Robin meet and of course this version of him assumes Danny’s a clone. Everyone else is just confused and Danny just wants to go home to his universe or does he since the GIW doesn’t exist in this universe…
DPXDC Prompt #108
When you meet your soulmate you both feel it, you know down to your bones that this person was meant to be with you for life, if you’re unable to find them before you pass on, your ghosts will be unable to locate each other in the afterlife. The Fentons tried to make a way to locate your soulmate using ectoplasm, unfortunately for Danny he’s the only one in the family yet to find his. Jazz actually found hers when she started school in Gotham, some guy named Jason, if Danny remembered correctly. They try some experiments with Danny and something works just not as intended as with every piece of Fenton tech. Danny wakes up in an unfamiliar room and in an unfamiliar body. Looking around, it appears his soulmate is rich, he’s got to call his soulmate and explain the situation. He’s not looking forward to explaining his powers to them but if they’re going to be in his body best to let them know what to expect from Danny’s weird biology.
Damian woke up to an unfamiliar ringtone in an unfamiliar room. Assessing the situation he noticed the number from the phone was actually his own. Might as well answer it to see if he could get some answers.
DPXDC Prompt #128
No one was quite sure what happened, They had gone after Joker and while Batman was hesitant to allow Hood along he had gotten better about his anger and everyone else was busy with other rouges. one second Red Hood had a gun in Jokers face the next, there was a shift in Hood like he wasn’t himself anymore. Unfortunately it finally happened for Hood, his soulmate had reached 20 years of age and the two switched places. The person controlling his body now though was Danny Fenton who happens not to like clowns.
Danny was panicking and not realizing he was holding a gun pulls the trigger causing the Joker the go flying and Danny’s panic to increase 10 fold. He whips his head to get a look at his surroundings and that’s when he panics further and slowly places the gun on the ground and slowly raise his hands into the air. There in front of him was Batman and he knew he was in trouble. Still panicking he squeaked at the dark knight’s approach, “I’m sorry!! I- I guess I’m this guy’s soulmate. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone”
Jason meanwhile wasn’t fairing any better. He was pissed the clown was right in front of him and he was so close! He was in this scrawny body, his soulmate happened to be in Gotham but by the looks of it, he was in rough shape, a small fever was forming and it seemed like he had bandages wrapped around his torso. Jason doesn’t know what happened to him but he’s taking him to Alfred, he wasn’t going to let his soulmate bleed out in an alley even if he did have the worst timing.
DPXDC Prompt #136
Danny falls through a natural portal and gets turned into a dog. I’m thinking he gets turned into something husky adjacent like a pomsky or something. He gets found by Jon who wants to give him to his friend and possible crush Damian. Danny wants to get back he was in the middle of some ghost politics but this young kid seemed like he needed a friend. Danny could see through Damian’s cold exterior and what Danny saw was a little kid who went through a lot of trauma in his childhood and Danny wanted to protect him.
DPXDC Prompt #142
It was considered a pretty big deal when a new ancient gets born. Danny didn’t and wouldn’t know this when he gets into an accident. A signal went out to all magic users that the ancient of space was born as soon as he stepped out of the portal and then things changed. If you could make a deal with an ancient it increased your power way more than that of a demon. Soon Danny gets chased by all sorts of folk trying to make a deal with him. He then gets caught by John Constantine who takes him back to the safety of the watchtower. What is the safest place to put the space ancient? In space!
DPXDC Prompt #148
Danny didn’t want to go to the gala but since all of his friends were busy with their own soulmates there wasn’t much he could argue. Vlad invited his family and him to a gala out in Gotham and his parents jumped at the opportunity to show their madness with some of the elite. Danny couldn’t wait to get home, yes he knew he had a soulmate but he wasn’t sure if he wanted to pursue them or not.
They could feel each other’s emotions and his soulmate was an angry person. Danny’s whole life his soulmate acted mad and strangely prideful. But those didn’t compare to his fear, they seemed to have gotten themselves in trouble in the past and maybe even had a few close encounters with death. They also seemed to bottle feelings up from what he could tell his soulmate might not have had the best childhood but Danny couldn’t really say much on that.
Damian knew his soulmate was kind of soft. They seemed to get annoyed at his family typical for a teen. Of all the things he noted about him his dislike of Christmas was a little odd but not everyone has to like the holidays he supposed. His mother Talia imparted on him that he should protect his soulmate with his life when he finds him so he was very determined to find them. Of course galas we’re the best place to look so he desperately asked every time his father hosted one.
When this finally get's posted I've been trying for hours now, LMAO

Chapter 32 is now up! Summary:  The Observants pull a last-minute "Let's make Danny's life even more difficult" move, but Fright Knight has his back. While Fright takes care of the issues brought up by the Observants, Bruce and Danny have some sweet time together...after a tiny panic attack.
This is story 5 in the “Ghosts in Gotham” Series. Read series HERE.
Chapter one of this story is HERE. First story in series is HERE.
TEASER:
ONE DAY BEFORE CORONATION
On the Watchtower, Danny was bored. He had memorized the vows and repeated them so many times that he guessed he’d be hearing them in his sleep for the next few years. He had already visited the viewing deck and had breakfast with Jazz before she left for her “Princess” outfitting and ceremonial preparation, leaving Danny alone with his thoughts. He was floating aimlessly around his room, when his ghost sense went off.
Immediately on alert, he twisted in the air and prepared to go ghost. When Fright Knight appeared, Danny relaxed. He realized that there was probably just some bit of kingly business that he had to attend to. “Hey, Fright! What’s up?”
The older ghost didn’t immediately return the greeting, and Danny began to worry about the purpose of his visit. Finally, the black-armored spirit looked around the room. “My liege.” He began. “Are we alone? There is a rather sensitive matter that I need to discuss with you.”
Danny frowned. He didn’t like the sound of “sensitive matters”. “Yeah, we’re alone. Everyone is out doing their own thing. What do you need to talk to me about?”
Fright looked at the floor for a long moment before returning his gaze to his soon-to-be-crowned-king. “I’m afraid it has to do with Princess Jasmine.”
“Is she in some kind of trouble?” Danny was instantly on alert.
“Not in the way you think.” The knight cryptically replied. “It has come to the Observant’s attention that she is being courted by a commoner. The Infinite Realms has not had a princess in eons. That makes your sister an incredibly important person in the eyes of the people. They will be extremely unhappy if she chooses to marry below her station.”
“Hey! I’m not standing in the way of my sister’s happiness! If Jason makes her happy, then they should be able to be together!” Danny retorted.
“I agree with you on the matter of her happiness, but the matter of her suitor’s station must be addressed or it will cause a disturbance in the Realms.” Fright Knight sounded serious.
“If you’re here telling me this, then there must be a solution, right?” Danny asked.
Fright let out an unnecessary sigh. “There is a simple solution, but her suitor must agree to it.”
“What is it?” Danny wished the Knight would spit it out already.
“If her suitor was knighted and given a high position in your government—such as a Security Chief—then that would satisfy the requirements for marriage. However, the man must agree to take the vows necessary to become a knight of the Realm. As he is liminal, he meets the basic requirements for knighthood, but his ectoplasm is contaminated. He will have to be cleansed of that contamination before taking his vows, otherwise they would not take hold.”
“Wait a second…” Danny looked confused. “Jason is liminal? How? And he’s contaminated??”
“There are places on Earth where the barrier between the Earth and the Realms is thin. Sometimes ectoplasm will leak through the barrier and pool there. Unfortunately, the ectoplasm becomes contaminated over time. Even so, humans have used those pools for healing and reviving the freshly dead for thousands of years now. Your sister’s intended was revived in one.”
“Jason was…wow. That actually makes a lot of sense.” Danny looked thoughtful. “How can he be purified?”
“It is a simple matter of soaking in a spring of pure proto-ectoplasm. It will leach out the impurities that have likely been plaguing him since his resurrection.”
“Will this take long? How quickly can it be done?” Danny wanted to get things straight as soon as possible.
“It will take several hours at the Keep. The finest pools of proto-ectoplasm are found there. But…Your Highness, he must agree first to be cleansed, and then to take the vows of service....

I had a very cursed thought and I'm choosing violence and making it Tumblr's problem:
Bruce had his thing with Talia. It led to the Stabby Child that is Damian.
Except, Damian has 2 dads.
Bruce, biologically his Father, and Daniel James Phantom, brought to their world by the Lazarus Pit, who "convinced Ras to retire" (aka turned his mind to mush through Eldritch Madness of Revelation). Talia took over, and, thinking herself The Chosen One, allowed the guy to court her.
In fact she isn't some Chosen One. She's a badass woman who could kill Danny easily, and he's very into that. And it's not helping that she's very attractive, and her kid is very feral and like to fight, like baby ghosts also like to do.
Eventually the Bats get wind that there's been a Change in Management in the League, and they come to investigate. Bruce expects the worst, Tim is just praying Ras is dead and he can get his spleen back, Jason is mildly disturbed that it might mean Talia is leading the Assassins, and Dick is keeping Gotham safe while the others are out.
They expect a cruel dictatorship, or a mound of corpses piles in a corner.
They did NOT expect to see a tiny Damian fight a guy dressed in League armor, a Cape and a crown of black iron, who could've been Wayne Adoption Bait if he was younger, while the guy laughs and corrects his form. Every blow the child is allowed to land simply passes through him.
Talia got herself a very comfy throne (Danny gifted it to her, saying some cheesy line like "no other would be fit for a Queen like you") made of Starlight and Ice, from which she can watch her on and her Beloved bond and train, while her new and improved League watch on as their Prince takes joy in his training and the pride his parents have in him. Soon he shall move to Gotham to meet his other dad, and learn from him as well, so he may know his family and make his destiny as he wishes.
TLDR: Danny is a simp for strong deadly lady and a good dad to her kid. She's indulging in his attention and caring. The bats are confused. Jason can feel the Ghost Adoption that will be coming his way when Danny "Ghost King" Phantom learns of his existence. The League of Assassins, even while they kill people to maintain Wolrd Order, treat Talia, Danny and Damian like the spies in SpyxFamily act towards Loid and Anya :)
Bruce: *opens his mouth*
Talia: You can't adopt my love
Bruce: *closes mouth*
I go a little feral for Jason viewing Talia as his mom so I am 100% behind Danny adopting Jason. Maybe Tim follows him after learning what Danny did to Ras and let's him have his spleen back, tho only on the condition that his own doctors put it back in. Who knows what Ras has done to it and with ecto involved its better to be safe than sorry. Tim is amazed that they can put the spleen back in at all due to how long its been outside his body.
Is this going to turn Poly with Bruce/Talia/Danny? Cause I'd read that!
Lmao imagine everyone going on vacation in the Ghost Zone. I'd read that too!
