Ataque contra mujeres lesbianas: cuando el discurso de odio pasa a la acción

Cuatro mujeres fueron atacadas con combustible y fuego en un hotel-pensión en Barracas. Recibían permanentes agresiones misóginas y lesboodiantes. Esperamos una investigación que esclarezca las circunstancias y las razones del ataque y que las sobrevivientes tengan ahora el acompañamiento necesario.

Cuatro mujeres lesbianas fueron atacadas con combustible y fuego por un vecino del hotel-pensión donde residían en el barrio porteño de Barracas. Ellas vivían en una sola habitación, dos eran pareja, una estaba embarazada. Pamela falleció, Sofía está consciente, Mercedes y Andrea están muy quemadas. El atacante quiso darse muerte de manera aparatosa. Los testimonios señalan que intentaban no salir del cuarto por las agresiones misóginas y lesboodiantes que recibían.

Este hecho dramático tiene contextos: la habilitación de discursos que generan odio sobre grupos sociales como gays, lesbianas y personas trans; la aceleración de la precariedad de la vida; la marginación en la ciudad y el abordaje de la salud mental y de la indigencia con estrategias de seguridad.

Tenemos muchas preguntas que aún no podemos responder. Pero una importante es en qué radar del Estado estaban o no y cómo son los pasos del abandono estatal que precariza aún más las vidas. 

Vivir en hoteles, conventillos, pensiones es una forma de ser inquilines y un modo especialmente precario de acceder a un alquiler. Las encuestas oficiales estiman que en la ciudad de Buenos Aires hay 30.656 hogares en esa situación, el 2,27% del total del territorio porteño. Muchos casos, además, en condiciones de hacinamiento crítico. Estos datos son de diciembre de 2023, cuando la desregulación de los alquileres entró como parte del DNU 70/2023. Las condiciones habitacionales y socioeconómicas se agravaron luego de esa fecha. 

Esperamos una investigación que esclarezca las circunstancias y las razones del ataque. Que las sobrevivientes tengan ahora el acompañamiento necesario para salir adelante y que las autoridades estatales no promuevan el odio y la violencia.

Internal

Lost, insecure, uncertain. Aeron often feels as though they’ve been floundering for the last several years now, largely connecting with the distancing and then complete disappearance of their mother. A lot of this helplessness manifests itself as either complete aloof indifference and borderline nihilism, or as sharp snaps of anger. 

External

Indifferent, guarded, contrarian. Aeron’s always been a bit of a loner, bit of a rebel, even before their family fell apart. An interest in alternative fashion aesthetics, movies, music, and a general interest in the occult in their formative years isolated them from a lot of their peers. Not exactly something Aeron wanted, either, but better they stayed away than try to change them. That cycle of loneliness and forced independence has resulted in a questioning and biting outer Aeron, all too willing to nip at the metaphorical heels of those making bold claims and assumptions (even when they’re fully correct, if only to watch them scramble in doubt). 

Favorite

Color: Black would be the immediate answer, but upon more thought, probably deep midnight blues and teals, and red as a favorite accent color. 

Beverage: Non-Alcoholic; Monster energy. Any of them. Aeron’s a major caffeine addict, and energy drinks are really the only thing that do anything to them anymore. Alcoholic; Creamy dessert cocktails are really the only alcohol Aeron enjoys drinking, but partakes in beer at social events they find themselves in. 

Food: Meal; Pierogi, and really any dumpling type formation. Will fuck up some dumplings. Snack; Fuego Takis, and any spicy snack. 

Least Favorite

Color: Bright colors, specifically highlighter or neon tones. Dislikes pastels for not being saturated enough but will concede on them sometimes looking ok. 

Beverage: Non-Alcoholic; Garlic milk. One of their grandparents’ home remedies for just about anything growing up, and it did help, but fuck is it nasty shit. Alcoholic; Tequila. The worst hangovers. Get that shit away from them. 

Food: Meal; Barszcz z Uszkami. Generally does not like beets at all, but especially beet soups. The dumplings and veggies are still good though. Snack; Chip pretzels. They’re too dry, and just make them crave soft pretzels instead. 

Physical

Height: 5’10, though likes to tell 6'0 guys that they’re 5’8 so that they panic. 

Piercings: Their ears are done up. Gauges, industrial bars, cartilage hoops, and studs lining up to the top of the ear. They have a septum piercing as well. 

Tattoos: A tattoo on their left inner forearm of a woman being burned at the stake and revealing a wolf within, head tilted back at the moon, on a black background. 

Accessories: Lots of leather and rope bracelets, rubber wrist bands, collars, chokers and corded necklaces with various pendants. The only constant is a chain necklace with a sterling bat pendant with red gem inlets for eyes. They also wear a lot of thick metal rings and like wearing flannels or suspenders hanging off of their hips. 

Relationships

Layla Johannes: Best friend of going on 10 years, an otherwise “normal” seeming tomboy sort of girl, but ended up being extremely supportive of and even interested in the more “odd” things that Aeron was. The last 5-6 years have been a little odd with some romantic and physical tension that’s been left untouched after the two had a Moment on their senior prom night, but neither wants to move in and misread the situation or change the dynamic, but it’s still There despite the time. 

Finn O’Donahue: Father, hasn’t been around since they were 6. Only regrets having any memory left of him. 

Julia Kowalczyk: Mother, she’s been missing for the last 4 years. She disappeared on a random day in the January after Aeron’s 20th birthday. They’d been really close, but after their 20th, she’d started to drift away. Aeron doesn’t know what happened, but to some extent they blame themselves. They’ve been determined to find her, even though the authorities have long given up. 

Dawid Kowalczyk: Grandfather. They’ve lived with him their whole lives, and only moved out after their first shift as a means to keep him at a safe distance. They still visit regularly and call when they can’t. Dawid has gotten more somber and quiet since his daughter disappeared, now being the only one left in the house after Aeron moved out. He can take care of himself well enough, he’s just. Lonely. (Calls him Dziadek when being serious/casual, or Dziadzia when being playful/emotional)

Reflexión higiene femenina

La enseñanza reglada (refiriéndonos a enseñanzas contempladas por el Ministerio de educación e impartidas en centros públicos o privados acreditados para ello) tiene que ser una herramienta clave para reducir la desigualdad social, sin embargo, con frecuencia no funciona porque el sistema no dispone de suficientes recursos específicos para compensar la gran desventaja con la que parten los alumnos de familias pobres. España es el tercer país de la Unión Europea con mayor tasa de pobreza infantil, y al mismo tiempo, es uno de los países de la misma que menos dinero público invierte en programas específicos de prevención para la familia y la infancia. 

Tal y como hemos podido comprobar, la pobreza impacta mucho en el abandono escolar, hasta un nivel en el que los propios docentes vinculan este abandono con la evaluación por notas al ser demasiado estricto este método. Por todo esto, se puede concluir que la pobreza (y más, menstrual), está bastante relacionada con los factores de exclusión social, fracaso escolar y abandono del mismo.

Por otro lado, los estereotipos y prejuicios ligados a la menstruación no dejan de tener presencia en la actualidad, haciéndonos sentir inseguras/os, incómodas/os, humilladas/os e incluso sin estar anímicamente preparadas/os para hablar de ello sin tabúes. Recordemos que la menstruación no debe ir ligada al género, ya que los hombres trans y personas no binarias también son parte de esta población que menstrúa.

El ser considerados productos de lujo, invalida que sean productos de primera necesidad, los cuales deberían tener un menor coste al que estamos acostumbrades y ser accesible para todes. Un buen comienzo sería que en los institutos y colegios se ofrezcan estos productos gratuítamente para estas personas, ya sea porque no pueden acceder a ellos o por una urgencia de necesidad.

Personalmente, considero que el hecho de que se haya rebajado el precio de las mascarillas debido al COVID-19 por el contexto de pandemia, es necesario. Pero, es una forma de violencia de género, que se tenga en cuenta esa necesidad pero no se nos permita a todas las personas que los necesitemos estos productos, y no solo eso, sino que cada vez más, estén subiendo sus precios.

A modo de conclusión final, pondría la mano en el fuego de que si las personas que menstrúan fueran hombres heterosexuales cisgénero, hace cientos de años que estos productos serían mucho más económicos, debido a que vivimos en una sociedad falocéntrica, es decir, nada se considera un problema mayor, a no ser que afecte a este colectivo masculino, heterosexual, cisgénero y blanco.

Las Personas Transgéneros en México - Liam

Las personas transgénero en México han sido durante mucho tiempo objeto de discriminación, violencia y marginación. Sin embargo, en los últimos años, el gobierno de México ha creado leyes para proteger los derechos de esta comunidad. En este post de nuestra blog, exploraremos los desafíos que enfrentan las personas transgénero en México, así como los avances que se han logrado en los últimos años.

Los problemas de las personas transgéneras están relacionados con la cultura de machismo. Esta cultura pone un énfasis en los roles de género tradicionales, y se espera que los hombres sean dominantes y agresivos, mientras que las mujeres deben ser sumisas y cariñosas. Para las personas que no están en el género binario, esta cultura no está segura. 

No hay muchas leyes que protegen los derechos de las personas transgenero, y también los tribunales y los jueces pueden interpretar la ley por la perspectiva del machismo. No hay ninguna ley para proteger a las personas transgéneros de la discriminacion en sus trabajos. Es difícil para estas personas tener un trabajo, y muchas mujeres transgéneros necesitan contratar en trabajo sexual. Esta línea de trabajo no está segura y muchas de las trabajadores contraen el VIH. Según un artículo, aproximadamente una de cada tres mujeres transgéneros tienen VIH en México. 

También, el machismo promueve la violencia a personas que no están en el género binario. Las mujeres transgéneros son asesinadas más que otros demográficos. Hay muchos ejemplos de asesinatos de personas en esta comunidad en México. En 2012, Agnes Torres Hernandez, quien era una mujer transgenero más prominada de su comunidad porque ella fue una educadora y una activista de los derechos LGBTQ+, fue encontrada en un hoyo con marcas de los filos y el fuego. La violencia a los transgéneros en México es demasiado normalizada, y es responsabilidad del gobierno proteger sus poblaciones marginalizadas.  

No está mal. En los años recientes, hay muchos cambios que son beneficios para las vidas de las personas. En 2008, Mexico City fue el primera ciudad en latinoamérica que aprobar un cambio del codigo de la ciudad para que las personas transgéneros pueden cambiar su sexo en sus documentos legales si se obtiene una cirugia de cambio de sexo. Estas cirugías cuestan muchos dólares y eran muy improbables para muchos miembros de la comunidad transgenero. En 2017, las personas  ya no necesitaban una cirugía o la terapia del reemplazo de las hormonas. La expansión de posibilidades para personas transgenero es más bueno porque es una oportunidad para el gobierno apoyar a personas marginalizadas. Tambien, en 2021, la primera congresista transgenero fue elegido en Mexico, y ella está el símbolo del progreso de la aceptación de la comunidad transgenero en México. 

Aunque hay más oportunidades para la comunidad transgenero de México, nosotros necesitamos reconocer los negativos porque el miedo de violencia y la discriminacion de trabajo y la medicina son problemas más urgentes que el resto. 

Por fin, desafortunadamente, este post es nuestra final. Nosotros elegimos esta tópico porque los problemas y la perseverancia de la comunidad LGBTQ+ están muy personal a nosotros y nosotros queremos concienciar nuestros compañeros de clase. Carnaval

Hoje é segunda-feira do Carnaval. Em São Luís (MA) eu tinha minhas táticas e esconderijos: 1) preaquecimento nos botecos; 2) bloco do bairro; 3) turma de fofão; 4) bailes de clube: Sargentos, Satélite, Lítero, AABB, Jaguarema, Rolê nas Praças. Eram os locais de diversão. Lá o Carnaval começava em 31 de dezembro e só terminava nos festejos de São João. Aqui no Rio também frequentei blocos e clubes: Cacique, Bafo da Onça, Bola Preta, Sub-Tenentes, Olímpico, as Bandas do Leme, Ipanema, Sá Ferreira. O Rolê era na Av. Central, nas praças Gosório, Lido, Cinelândia e Lapa (mais pesada), porque ali reinavam os blocos de sujos, pagode de arrastão que puxava a turma por onde passava, crescia ao infinito e de repente se dispersava, sumia. Em carnavais de sorte dava para esbarrar com Eloína, Xuxa, Monique Evans, Luíza Brunet, Wilza Carla, Helô Pinheiro, Roberta Close, Rogéria, Elke Maravilha, Adriana Salituro, Magda Cotrofe e outras pérolas. Este ano resolvi me despedir da folia carnavalesca e fui para a Pç. General Osório na concentração da Banda de Ipanema. Pra quê! Todos os Trans do mundo estavam lá. Como os guerrilheiros do Che, tomaram de assalto o palanque da banda mais famosa do Rio. Meus amigos de outrora – os sobreviventes – são hoje viados velhos, decrépitos, o Bar Jangadeiros fechou, o Rio-Nápoles fechou, o Só Feijão fechou, o Barril fechou. La verdad no te sabría decir porque depende mucho de gustos, disponibilidad y tiempo (?) a mi personalmente el juego que siempre me vuelve a meter a pokemon es Rojo Fuego/Verde Hoja, está fácil de descargar en internet y no le ocupas meter mucho tiempo :] pero los que más disfruto son Cristal y XY (Por motivos de apego emocional, no son tan buenos juegos). . .

Aunque si tienes 3DS y te gusta algo con un poco más de historia, está pokemon Sol/Luna que también tienen más y son muy beginner friendly ^^ (también se pueden sacar los roms en internet pero es más complicado y ocupas buena computadora)

I love your articles! I'm just reading an article where you talk about trans men and "misdirected misogyny" and how depending on the context some of us don't face "misdirected misogyny" but actual misogyny. I agree! But it got me thinking, what misdirected oppression/bigotry is? I feel like I don't understand the concept well, tbh. But anyway, your articles are fuego! Thanks for taking the time to write and share them.

I just don’t really find it too important of an idea to focus on with particular gender/sexual dynamics because you kinda only ever hear the “misdirected” card when someone’s trying to explain away an instance of bigotry faced by an individual who categorically “isn’t supposed to” so they shouldn’t bring it up or be offended by it.

I don’t think the concept of misdirection is intrinsically pointless or anything. Context does something to the situation obviously (e.g., cis dudes make really weird transmisogynistic assumptions about my body sometimes but I’m not out here trying to make it everyone else’s problem or act like TME privilege suddenly isn’t real lol), in fact I’d argue that this ✨ trans men vs. misogyny ✨ thing is more of a rare special case specifically because of the unsteady and debatable societal relationship between cis women & trans men WRT patriarchy. Other relationships (black people vs. nonblacks) where the oppressor class is arguably obvious lend themselves better to confidently calling things misdirected.

Otherwise I don’t find it a very interesting topic, it’s just something that occasionally incidentally happens because bigots have human brains and if they’re angry about one kind of people they’re probably angry about others.

But it also feels like one of those things that cis white women would’ve watched PoC talking about in ways that’d actually make sense in a racial context and thought they could apply it easily to gender or sexuality, as they make a habit of doing.
