Previously:
You looked at Bin and Han and begged them to stay. Both of them looked at the doctor and said that whatever was happening, they weren't leaving. The doctor could see that you really needed them and as long as they were not in the way, it didn’t matter whether they were here or not.
After the nerve block and the procedure, the doctor cleaned you up and draped a warm blanket over you, while the nurses hooked up a transfusion and closely monitored you. The doctor asked for Bin in the hall while Han went right back to your hand without the IV in it, so he could hold it properly.
Bin tried to ignore it during the procedure but the look that the doctor had on his face when he was doing the preliminary exam was haunting. Whatever he was called out here for… it wasn’t good.
NOW:
Once both Bin and the Doctor were in the hall and closed the sliding door separating you from the bustling main hallway, Bin got that feeling again. That sick feeling that something was wrong. The doctor looked like he was trying to stay professional.
It was then that Bin noticed the doctor's wedding ring. He wondered to himself if the doctor was like Bin. So deep in love that seeing anyone else doesn’t just feel blasphemous, but it’s so out of the question it’s nauseating. The doctor began.
“Are you her husband?” He asked.
“No…” Bin replied. He could feel the bile rising in his throat with that one question. He immediately thought, If I was this never would’ve happened.
“Are you family?” The doctor looked at him.
“Yes. Are they okay?” Bin looked at the doctor.
“She lost a lot of blood, through something called a hemorrhage. It’s a rare complication especially this early on. She wouldn’t have made it if this happened at home. But it’s under control now.” the doctor said. He seemed to be trying to be as sympathetic as possible, making the next question sting more.
“Okay, and the baby?” Bin asked as he was trying to hold on to the possibility, some shred of hope that you and the baby were okay. He didn’t want the answer to be…
“I’m sorry.” The doctor slowly shook his head as he bowed his head slightly. The doctor looked guilty, like this was the worst part of his job, not being able to save someone.
“How? Why?” Bin asked as it felt like his heart twisted. He didn’t know how you were going to get through this. He knew you too well. He knew that the pain you were about to feel, the emotional pain, would spell your demise... Bin couldn’t wouldn’t let that happen.
“There is a cause-and-effect relationship that stress, extreme traumatic stress, like what you described, can cause a mis--” “Please don’t finish that word.” Bin pleaded with tears in his eyes. That word. He’s never hated a word in his life, until now. A word like that, even the word Death is kinder. To die you need to have lived in the first place, breathe air, feel emotions, like happiness, fear, love… None of those things happened for your child, through no fault of their mother. The same woman he’s staring at, the very same woman he always stared at.
“The fact that she went through the shock as well as the prolonged stress after that shock, and didn’t have any previous symptoms of that happening prior to that, rules out all of the other options.” he paused and looked at his ring. Bin could tell what he was thinking, the doctor’s jaw tight, I could never dream of doing that, then continued, “You know her better than I do. Will she need something to calm her down?”
“Yes… but I don’t think she’ll accept it.” Bin looked back at you and Han. You looked so out of it. Like you were and were not there simultaneously. He has never seen you like this. From what he could see it looked like Han was doing his best to distract you. He was playing with your fingers as he joked.
It was convincing enough to relax you, but Bin knew better. His eyes are always so expressive, if he's genuinely relaxed, his eyes show it. Bin could tell that Han was many things at this point in time, and worry free was not one of them.
“Would you like to tell her?” the doctor asked. That question made Bin think a little bit. If he did tell you, he didn't know if you'd believe him. It's easier to ignore reality when the person breaking the news isn't a doctor. You'd accept it if it came from the doctor.
“She’ll believe it if you say it… Just have the medicine on standby. Also, what do we do to help her? What’s next?” He asked.
“Well like I said her bleeding was extensive... I want to keep her for at least a full 24 hours, in case the bleeding starts again. I’ll also arrange for her to meet with the OBGYN during that time as well, to make sure we got all of the tissue out, that way there’s no chance of another hemorrhage or infection. Sounds like a plan?” The doctor asked.
“Yes… thank you." Bin took a deep breath before he went in, the doctor trailing behind him.
The doctor closed the sliding door as Bin looked at you, then at Han briefly. He lowered the guardrail and made eye contact with Han, who mirrored his actions shortly after.
“Mrs. Y/L/N” the doctor began but you cut him off.
“My baby. Please tell me my baby’s okay… please,” the urgency written on your face.
Han's eyes were set on Changbin. The minute you asked that question, Bin lowered his head, jaw tight, and tears were already beginning to form. When Bin looked at Han, he already knew.
The doctor looked at you and said “I...I’m so sorry.”
Your face showed nothing but confusion… you had just gotten the first ultrasound. You had it done a week ago. No, you saw your baby.
“Y/N” Bin asked gently. He saw the look on your face, and it killed him. Seeing your brain reach for any other outcome other than the one right in your face. He tucked some stray strands of hair behind your ear as he watched and waited for the understanding to reach your face, it didn’t.
“No, it can’t be, I just got the ultrasound done. No,” you replied.
Han and Bin looked at each other. Han's eyebrows dipped, as he processed and tried to brace for impact. Bin on the other hand, was willing himself to take a step back, knowing that you needed to hear this. It had to get through, that's the only way you could start healing.
The doctor looked solemn as he said, “Mrs. Y/L/N I could tell that you were and still are contracting. The reason why your body is doing it, from what I can discern, is because your body went through extreme stress and emotional trauma, when that happens this early, your body rejects the pregnancy. That does not mean that this is your fault, it's the opposite. It’s completely out of your control.”
Bin could see the cogs turning in your brain as you slowly started shaking your head. Reality starting to seep in. Bin wished that you didn't have to go through this. That you got the fairytale ending without the heartbreak. That you didn't have to face the death of your own child. That pain, anguish, and suffering.
The doctor continued, “There is an even rarer condition in which the body rejecting the pregnancy ends in a condition called a hemorrhage. It’s a technical term for excessive bleeding, in this case, it happened because your body is trying to expel the tissues in your cervix. Because it was so sudden, your cervix didn’t have time to open. When I examined you, you weren’t even at half a centimeter dilation, and all of that tissue was trying to be expelled. That was why I had to do that procedure, to get the tissue out so bleeding could be minimized. I’m so sorry… but you had a miscarriage.”
Once that word was said the scream that you let out was something that Han nor Bin have ever heard in their lives. It was soul-crushing. Both of them could hear your heart breaking, shattered on the ground. Bin and Han wanted nothing more than to pick up those pieces and fix it. They knew that they couldn't, this is a hurt they can't fix.
Han held you as you screamed, begged, pleaded… You looked at Bin. “Bin please, look at me. Please tell me it's not true… Please you don’t lie to me, I know you'll tell the truth pleeease.”
Bin looked at you, “I can’t tell you it’s not true. I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry.” The look of devastation on his face only sealed the fact. Bin has never lied to you so why would he start now? Especially with something as serious as whether or not you had a miscarriage.
The look that painted his face, brows upturned as his eye contact was nothing short of empathetic. You could tell he wanted to lie.
He wanted it to be false, that it was just some freak minor bleeding… that the baby was okay…he wanted it so badly… but you can't want something into existence.
That realization hit you in a split second as the monitors that were connected to you, measuring vitals, started going off. You could feel nothing but pain. The involuntary gnawing, pulling pain. The blood, the cold from lack of blood in your body…The physical agony was nothing compared to what you felt in that split second.
Your heart rate was literally too fast for you to register, pain surging through you as comprehension slammed into you like a tsunami. The baby is gone. Your baby. Your heart rate was through the roof and the doctor went to your IV.
“Y/N I’m going to give you something to calm you down okay? Your heart can’t take this stress, it’ll give out.” The doctor pushed the medication.
“I want my baby…Bin I want my baby… Han please, my baby.” You sobbed as you held on to Han.
All Bin could do was say, “I know you do, I’m so sorry. I’m here. I’m sorry.”
Han got on the gurney with you and cradled you. He cried with you. Prayed that it was just a nightmare. Han looked to Bin, only to find him trying to fight the tears that were falling down his face. Bin's soul was hurting for you, bargaining with whatever powers out there, to give himself up for you and your child. He knew it was irrational but if he could've, he would've.
As soon as the medicine kicked in your breathing started to slow. You still whimpered and cringed as you felt your body bearing down, still shaking slightly and cold to the touch. Han draped his jacket over you, resting you against his chest, singing to you, to calm you.
Every once in a while reality would crash into you again, you’d reach for Bin. You knew why you did, he was always there. He always understood you on a deeper level. Sometimes he knew what you needed when you didn’t even know you needed it.
Eventually he pulled up a chair and laid his head on his forearm, hand in yours and close to his lips. as he gently rubbed circles into your hand with his thumb. As soon as you’d squeeze that hand he’d squeeze back as he nuzzled into your hand. His way of letting you know that yes, this is the reality, but he is still here. Wordlessly, endlessly, he’d be here. Sometimes you’d comb your fingers through his hair, the feeling somewhat comforting.
You were so tired it went down to your bones. Sometimes only mustering a long blink at the pain. Eventually your vitals started looking good enough to transport.
The doctor came in with solemn reverence, like he was intruding on a funeral.“Y/N, we’re going to keep you overnight at the least, you’re going to have a visit from the OBGYN in the morning, okay? We have your bed ready so soon someone’s going to come to transport you.”
You just looked up at the doctor and nodded, “T-thank you” you hiccupped, “Hannie and Binnie are staying with me.”
“I’ve already put a cot in the room for them. I wish I could’ve done more,” he said with a sad smile. Bin got up and shook his hand, thanking him.
As soon as the transport nurses came to get you Bin said “I’ll see you in a bit. I just need to do something really quick.” you nodded and Bin kissed your forehead. He had to go back to the house. He didn’t know why immediately, just that he had to.
He was on autopilot the entire ride to the house, except for the red lights.  He didn’t need to be strong at those lights. He’d scream where no one could hear him. Letting the pain out as images of you flashed. Smiling, then flashing to the scream you let out. Laughing, then sobbing in that hospital gurney. Cooking with him, to crying on Han.
His screams were from mourning, pain, and frustration. He mourned the baby and you. The pain for you, the pain of realizing all of the things that you won’t experience. The frustration of not being able to see it before. To protect you, guard you. He wanted to rip something… someone… apart. There. That was the impulse that drove him back to the house.
At the last red light, he breathed deep, not even wanting to. He used whatever force that was left over as he screamed one last time. Everything he did, your child would never experience. Every scream echoed, redoubling the anguish he had for the both of you. Culminating into this, silence as he turned the corner to the house.
To his surprise, all of the other member’s cars were still at the house when he pulled up. When he parked, he looked at the clock on his dashboard, it was 2 a.m. Had it been 6 hours already?
He felt his adrenaline kick up as he opened the door. He found everyone still wide awake, waiting for answers, but one look at Bin and they gathered what they needed.
Chan walked into the room from the kitchen and his jaw dropped upon seeing him.
“Bin…what happened?” Felix asked gently, hand’s slightly raised, as if approaching a wild animal. The aura on Bin wasn’t his aloof, goofy, self, it was the opposite; dark, threatening, dangerous. Bin’s eyes were trained on Chan, the closer he got, the more Bin felt his resolve slipping… Chan looked at him up and down, concern and horror written on his face. It was only then that Bin noticed he was covered in your blood.
His resolved snapped at that realization, upper lip ticking into a repressed snarl as he breathed “I’m… going to kill you.” He made a B-line to Chan. Felix, Minho, and Jeongin had to hold him back.
Once Bin realized he couldn’t get to Chan, he screamed, “Was it worth it?! HUH?!!” His veins were popping out under his skin as he struggled to get free, “Was it?! Tell me! You hurt and nearly killed the only person I’ve ever loved. She’s dead inside now, all thanks to you!” More flashes accompanied that sentence, him picking you up and watching you go limp, eyes fluttering.
Felix looked at Bin and said, “What?... Hyung..” Felix's voice trailed off, trying to process what he heard. Felix knew that if he heard Bin correctly…he couldn’t even complete that thought.
Bin’s eyes snapped to Felix and he relaxed to the point where all three let go.
“The doctor said that because of the severe stress and emotional trauma she endured her body rejected the pregnancy.” He bum-rushed Chan and slammed him against the wall, while everyone was either in shock or processing. Felix was the first and only one to try to get Bin off Chan. Changbin was just too strong for the younger man, he ignored Felix as he tried wordlessly to pry Bin away from Chan.
Bin continued staring into Chan's eyes, “The miscarriage was so sudden, in fact, that she hemorrhaged and almost bled to death because her cervix couldn’t open on its own in time. They had to scrape the tissue out just to stop it from killing her! And she looked at me to see if it was really true because I don’t LIE to her. Then they had to sedate her because her heart was going to give out when she realized that it was true.”
At this point Bin tightened his grip on Chan, “You are lucky that she asked for me to stay with her… If not I would kill you, right here. You are going to stay AWAY until or even IF she ever wants to see you again. I mean it Chan, if you come near her, I will end you. It’s not a threat, it’s a promise.” With that, he dropped Chan and went to the washroom. He washed off as much blood as he could and went to his room to change into spare clothes. He wanted to destroy everything in his room. His keepsakes, his picture frames of the boys all together. There was only one picture frame that he did smash to dust before he left his room… the one of himself and Chan, on Chan’s wedding day. He picked up his bloody clothes, stalked back out to Chan, and threw the clothing at him.
He was shaking with rage as he said, “To YOU… this could’ve been a game or a thrill, fucking with her heart. But THAT!” he pointed to the clothing, “that is the reality. A child is dead, your child and it almost killed Y/N too. Next time you want to contact her, look at what you did to both of them while you do it.”
Before Chan could say anything Bin was slamming the door shut behind him with such force that the wall itself vibrated. Right as he made it to his car Felix ran to him. “Can I go with you?” he asked.
“I’m not leaving the hospital for the whole night, you know that, right?”
Felix nodded and got into the passenger seat. The whole ride over Felix couldn’t help but to stare at Bin. He has never seen him like this. So enraged that he was three seconds away from crushing Chris’ windpipe.
He also noted how Bin didn’t seem to know that he was covered in blood until Chris looked at him. Even now he could see Bin’s grip on the steering wheel was so strong his knuckles were white. He didn’t know exactly what happened in those four hours they weren’t given updates, and Felix knows just by seeing Bin, he never wants to find out.
As soon as Bin entered your hospital room he heard you say “Binnie?”
Honestly, he could melt every time you call him that.
“I’m back…” he chuckled slightly… “And I brought some sunshine with me…”
The minute he looked into your eyes, you smiled just a little. That was progress. He kissed your forehead as Felix looked you over.
Felix is like your little brother, so the minute you saw him and he saw you, you both started crying. Han got off the bed knowing Lix would want to be with you for a bit, for both of your sakes.
This gave Han and Bin time to talk out in the hall.
“How’re her contractions?” Bin asked.
“They’re slower but still strong. The doctor says that it’ll be strong for at least 5 to 10 hours.” Han reported.
“And you? How’re you doing?” Bin asked. He knows Han has anxiety, seeing all of this and being as strong as he’s been is not easy.
“I’m… Out of all people, Bin.” Han shook his head. Han has known Chan the longest and he would’ve never expected him to do this.
“I know”
“Please tell me you didn’t hit him.” Han said.
“Nah… She needs me more than I need to beat him to a pulp… I don’t think he’ll be bothering her anymore though.” That’s at least what Bin hopes. Everything is so raw. A little over 8 hours before this you were at a restaurant to celebrate your 3rd anniversary. Now everything was all wrong, a nightmare incarnate and no one can wake up from reality.
“Hyung… She can’t go back to that house.” Han said as he took a deep breath.
“I know. All I know is that we'll do what she’s comfortable with.”
“Agreed…Bin?” Han asked.
“Yeah?”
“It should’ve been you with her. From the beginning.” Han looked to Bin, a look of understanding and empathy for Bin. Han could always see the way Bin looked at you when no one else was looking. Everything you said would be committed to his memory, even the smallest things like which brand of sesame oil you like best for your bulgogi marinade.
“I know. That doesn’t mean that I can’t be here for her from now on.”
Han just smiled and both of them went back into the room.

unicef estimates that a thousand children in Gaza have become amputees since the conflict began in October. “This is the biggest cohort of pediatric amputees in history,” Ghassan Abu-Sittah, a London-based plastic-and-reconstructive surgeon who specializes in pediatric trauma, told me recently. I met him in the waiting room of his plastic-surgery clinic on London’s Harley Street, and we walked to a nearby pub for a glass of water. Abu-Sittah, a fifty-four-year-old British Palestinian with an angular face and tender, deep-set eyes, has treated child survivors of war for the past thirty years in Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and elsewhere. Abu-Sittah is the author of “The War Injured Child,” the first medical textbook on the subject, which was published last May. In October and November, he spent forty-three days in Gaza, conducting emergency surgeries with Doctors Without Borders. He shuttled between two hospitals: Al-Shifa and Al-Ahli, which is also known as the Baptist hospital. The casualty rate was so high that, during some intense periods, he didn’t leave the operating room for three days. “It felt like a scene from an American Civil War movie,” he said. In Gaza, Abu-Sittah was performing as many as six amputations a day. “Sometimes you have no other medical option,” he explained. “The Israelis had surrounded the blood bank, so we couldn’t do transfusions. If a limb was bleeding profusely, we had to amputate.” The dearth of basic medical supplies, owing to blockades, also contributed to the number of amputations. Without the ability to irrigate a wound immediately in an operating room, infection and gangrene often set in. “Every war wound is considered dirty,” Karin Huster, a nurse who leads medical teams in Gaza for Doctors Without Borders, told me. “It means that many get a ticket to the operating room.” To mark the gravity of these procedures, and to mourn, Abu-Sittah and other medical staff placed the severed limbs of children in small cardboard boxes. They labelled the boxes with masking tape, on which they wrote a name and body part, and buried them. At the pub, he showed me a photograph he’d taken of one such box, which read, “Salahadin, Foot.” Some wounded children were too young to know their own names, he added, telling the story of an amputee who’d been pulled from rubble as the sole survivor of an attack.

Therefore, an increasing number of people are choosing to travel to Turkey for their surgical treatment.
In conclusion, the combination of skilled surgical treatment, excellent quality of care, and affordability have positioned Turkey as a leading destination for hair transplant surgery. The trend of medical tourism for hair restoration shows no signs of slowing down, indicating that Turkey will continue to be a popular choice for those seeking hair transplants.
Addressing Hair Loss: Unpacking the Benefits of Hair Transplant in Turkey
Hair loss is a common concern that affects millions of people worldwide. Whether it's due to aging, hormonal changes, or genetic factors, losing your hair can significantly impact your self-esteem and overall appearance. From receding hairlines to pattern baldness, the manifestations of hair thinning and alopecia are diverse and complex.
Pattern baldness, including male pattern baldness and female pattern baldness, is a prevalent form of hair loss. It is primarily driven by genetic factors and is medically known as androgenetic alopecia. This condition is characterized by a specific pattern of hair thinning that starts from the temples or the crown. It doesn't discriminate based on gender; both men and women can be affected, albeit in different ways.
In men, the first sign of male pattern baldness is often a receding hairline or thinning at the crown. Women, on the other hand, rarely experience a receding hairline. Female pattern baldness typically presents as overall thinning across the entire scalp or widening of the part line. Regardless of gender, these conditions can deliver a significant blow to one's self-confidence.
Alopecia, another common form of hair loss, is a condition where hair falls out in small patches. It can be very noticeable and distressing, causing individuals to seek out hair loss solutions. Although there are various hair loss prevention methods available, they often fall short of restoring the hair to its former glory.
Enter the world of hair transplants—a permanent hair loss solution that's gaining attention for its impressive results. Hair transplants have evolved significantly over the years, offering a more natural look and less downtime. And where better to seek this treatment than in Turkey?
Turkey has become a popular destination for individuals seeking hair transplant procedures due to its advanced healthcare system, experienced medical practitioners, and competitive prices. The country's medical tourism industry is flourishing, with hair transplant surgeries at the forefront.
In a nutshell, hair transplant in Turkey offers a beacon of hope for those struggling with hair loss, baldness, or receding hairlines. It's a viable solution to androgenetic alopecia, male pattern baldness, female pattern baldness, and other types of hair thinning conditions. By choosing this treatment, individuals can reclaim their confidence and enjoy a fuller, healthier hairline.
Understanding the Processes of Hair Transplant In Turkey: Follicular Unit Extraction and Transplantation
When it comes to restoring confidence and self-esteem, a hair transplant in Turkey has become a popular solution for many. Understanding the intricate processes of FUE Hair Transplant Turkey and follicular unit transplantation (FUT) can help you make an informed decision about your hair restoration journey.
Follicular unit extraction and follicular unit transplantation are the two main procedures utilized in hair grafting. Both techniques involve removing hair from a donor area of the scalp and transplanting it to a recipient area, usually the balding or thinning sections.
In the follicular unit extraction process, individual hair follicles are extracted directly from the donor area, typically the back or sides of the head where hair is more resistant to balding. These follicles are then implanted into the recipient area. The main advantage of this technique is that it leaves minimal scarring, making it an excellent choice for those who prefer to wear their hair short.
On the other hand, follicular unit transplantation involves removing a strip of skin from the donor area. This strip is then divided into individual follicular units which are implanted into the recipient area. While this may leave a minor scar in the donor area, the technique allows for a larger number of hair follicles to be transplanted in a single session.
Regardless of the method chosen, the success of a hair transplant largely depends on the skill and expertise of the surgeon performing the scalp surgery. The transplantation should be done with precision to ensure that the implanted hair follicles grow in the same direction as the existing hair, providing a natural and undetectable result.
In conclusion, both follicular unit extraction and follicular unit transplantation are effective hair grafting techniques used in Turkey. The choice between the two typically depends on the individual’s hair type, the size of the donor area, and personal preferences. Consulting with a professional can help determine the best course of action for each individual case.
Enhancing Hair Growth and Density through Hair Transplant in Turkey
Hair transplant in Turkey has become a popular solution for people who wish to regain a full head of hair. This procedure is not just about restoring hair density but also about achieving a natural look that blends seamlessly with your existing hair.
The process of hair transplant involves the transfer of hair follicles from a part of your body with sufficient hair coverage to the balding or thinning areas, essentially stimulating hair growth and regrowth in those regions. This technique ensures an increase in hair density, which is crucial for those desiring a fuller head of hair.
One of the major advantages of getting a hair transplant in Turkey is that it offers a permanent solution to hair loss. Unlike hair growth products that require continuous use, a hair transplant offers long-lasting results. Once the transplanted hair follicles have fully healed and grown, you can expect them to behave just like your natural hair. This means you can cut, color, and style them as you please.
But a hair transplant goes beyond just increasing hair density. The procedure aims to give you a natural look, with the transplanted hair blending seamlessly with your existing hair. This gives an impression of natural hair growth, which can significantly boost your confidence and self-esteem.
Of course, after undergoing a hair transplant in Turkey, it's important to adopt a healthy hair care routine to maintain the results. This includes regular shampooing, conditioning, and overall protection of your hair from harmful environmental factors. Remember, healthy hair care is essential not just for the transplanted hair but also for your existing hair.
In conclusion, a hair transplant in Turkey offers a promising solution for those struggling with hair loss. It can improve hair density, provide a natural look, and offer a permanent solution to hair loss. With the right healthy hair care, you can maintain these results and enjoy the benefits of a full head of hair.
Understanding Anesthesia, Post-Operation Care, and Recovery Time in Hair Transplantation: The Role of Professional Expertise
Anesthesia plays a crucial role in hair transplant procedures. It is the first step in the process, ensuring that the patient is comfortable and pain-free throughout the surgery. The type of anesthesia used typically depends on the specific hair transplant method chosen. It is administered by a hair surgeon with professional expertise, underscoring the importance of choosing a well-qualified and experienced professional for your hair transplant in Turkey.
Following the procedure, post-operation care is an integral part of the hair transplant process. This involves carefully following the surgeon's instructions to ensure optimal healing and growth of the transplanted hair. Post-operation care may include specific guidelines on washing and treating the scalp, the use of certain hair products, and the need to avoid certain activities that may interfere with the healing process.
Additionally, it's essential to understand the recovery time associated with a hair transplant. While this can vary depending on individual circumstances and the specific surgical technique used, most patients can expect to see the full results of their hair transplant within six to twelve months post-operation. However, some initial results, such as the cessation of hair loss and the growth of new hair, can often be observed within a few weeks of the surgery.
The professional expertise of your hair surgeon plays a pivotal role in every stage of the hair transplant process, from the administration of anesthesia to the guidance provided for post-operation care and setting realistic expectations for recovery time. Therefore, when considering a hair transplant in Turkey, it's crucial to choose a surgeon with a proven track record in the field. This will not only ensure the highest standards of safety and care throughout the procedure but also increase the likelihood of achieving the best possible results from your hair transplant.
Enhancing Hair Transplant Success: Role of Scarring and Hair Care Routine in Turkey
Hair transplants in Turkey have emerged as a go-to solution for individuals grappling with hair loss. However, the success of this procedure doesn't end at the surgeon's table. It extends into post-surgery care, particularly in the areas of scarring, hair care routine, and hair hygiene.
Scarring is a common concern among individuals seeking a hair transplant. The visibility and extent of scarring can greatly impact the overall result of the procedure. It is essential to understand that proper scalp health care can minimize the appearance of these scars. A healthy scalp forms a vital base for the new hair follicles, promoting their growth and ensuring the longevity of the transplant.
Hair hygiene is another critical factor that shouldn't be neglected post-surgery. Washing your hair with the right hair products helps in maintaining the cleanliness of the scalp, preventing any infections that could potentially affect the newly transplanted follicles. It is advisable to use a shampoo and conditioner that are gentle on the scalp and nourishing for the hair.
In addition, incorporating hair oil into your hair care routine can also be beneficial. It helps in nourishing the scalp and supports the growth of healthy hair. It's important to remember that a well-nourished scalp promotes better hair growth, which is crucial for the overall results of the hair transplant.
The use of hair masks is another effective way to provide the necessary nutrients to your scalp and hair. Hair masks can offer deep conditioning, strengthening the hair follicles, and enhancing the health of your scalp. It's an excellent addition to your hair care routine, especially after undergoing a hair transplant in Turkey.
Lastly, here are some hair care tips to consider post-transplant. Avoid exposing your scalp to harsh environmental conditions, such as excessive sun or pollutants. Maintain a balanced diet to provide essential nutrients for hair growth. Regularly massage your scalp to improve blood circulation, promoting healthier hair growth.
In conclusion, maintaining proper scalp health, following a healthy hair care routine, and using the right hair products are critical for a successful hair transplant. These factors also help in minimizing scarring and ensuring your new hair grows out healthy and strong. Remember, the journey to a successful hair transplant goes beyond the surgery; it continues well into your post-surgery care and routine.
Exploring Non-Surgical Alternatives to Hair Transplant in Turkey
Engaging in hair transplant procedures is a common solution for those experiencing hair loss. However, Turkey is not only famous for its surgical hair transplant methods but also its wide array of non-surgical options. These alternatives are often more affordable, less invasive, and require significantly less recovery time than surgical procedures.
One of the most popular non-surgical options for hair restoration in Turkey is medical treatment. These treatments employ the use of DHT blockers and hair regrowth medications, which are specifically designed to combat hair loss and promote the growth of new hair. DHT blockers work by inhibiting the production of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone known to contribute to hair loss.
Finasteride and Minoxidil are two of the most commonly used hair regrowth medications in Turkey. Finasteride is a DHT blocker, while Minoxidil is a vasodilator, which increases blood flow to the hair follicles, stimulating growth and thickening the hair shaft. Both of these medications have proven successful in slowing down hair loss and promoting hair regrowth.
PRP therapy, also known as Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy, is another non-surgical option that is gaining popularity in Turkey. This therapy involves the injection of the patient's own platelets into the scalp to stimulate hair growth. The platelets, rich in growth factors, work to repair damaged hair follicles, leading to increased hair growth.
Mesotherapy is also a widely practiced non-surgical hair restoration method in Turkey. It involves the injection of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids directly into the scalp to nourish and stimulate the hair follicles. This method is believed to enhance the health of the hair and scalp, promoting hair growth.
Laser therapy is another non-surgical treatment that utilizes low-level lasers to stimulate hair follicles, increase blood flow, and enhance hair growth. This method is often recommended for those with early-stage hair loss.
Lastly, scalp micropigmentation is a cosmetic procedure where pigments are injected into the scalp to create the appearance of a fuller, denser head of hair. This method is particularly popular for those looking to conceal thinning hair or balding areas without undergoing a surgical procedure.
In conclusion, there are numerous non-surgical options available for hair restoration in Turkey. Each method has its own advantages and suitability, depending on the individual's hair condition and personal preferences. Therefore, it's crucial to consult with a professional to identify the most suitable treatment based on your specific needs.
The Impact of Hairstyling Practices on the Need for Hair Transplant in Turkey
In the realm of personal grooming, hair styles play a prominent role in defining one's appearance. From curling and straightening to braiding and coloring, there is an endless spectrum of hairstyling tools and techniques individuals resort to, in order to create the unique look they desire. However, these practices could potentially lead to hair damage, and in severe cases, might even necessitate a hair transplant.
The frequent use of hairstyling tools, such as hair straighteners, curlers, and blow dryers, can cause considerable heat damage to the hair. This heat damage is a result of the excessive temperature that these tools employ to alter the hair's structure. Over time, this can lead to hair becoming brittle, dry, and prone to breakage, which may increase the need for a hair transplant in Turkey, a country known for its expertise in the field.
Similarly, chemical treatments like hair dye and hair bleach can significantly impact the hair's health. Hair dye and bleach work by opening the hair cuticle and changing the hair's natural pigment. This process, while effective for changing hair color, can be detrimental to the hair's overall health, leading to weakened hair strands, split ends, and hair loss. Subsequently, individuals suffering from severe hair damage due to such treatments may find themselves considering a hair transplant.
Hair straightening treatments, for instance, Japanese and Brazilian straightening, can also contribute to hair damage. These treatments involve the use of chemicals to break down the hair's natural structure and then rebuild it in a straightened form. The harsh chemicals used in these processes can cause hair to become weak and brittle, leading to hair loss.
Hair braiding, on the other hand, when done excessively tight, can lead to a condition known as traction alopecia. This condition, characterized by gradual hair loss, is caused by the prolonged tension on the hair strands. It is a common issue among individuals who often wear their hair in tight braids or ponytails, and it may eventually lead to the need for a hair transplant.
In conclusion, while hairstyling tools and techniques can help individuals achieve various hair styles, it's important to use them mindfully. The excessive use or misuse of these tools and treatments can lead to considerable hair damage, and in severe cases, may necessitate a hair transplant. While Turkey offers high-quality hair transplant services, prevention is always better than cure. Therefore, it's crucial to take proper care of your hair and use hairstyling tools and treatments responsibly.
Essential Hair Care Tools for Post-Transplant Maintenance in Turkey
After a hair transplant in Turkey, maintaining the health and appearance of your new hair is crucial. This is where hair accessories come in handy. These tools not only help you style your hair but also help in ensuring its health and longevity.
The hair brush is a fundamental accessory for anyone who has had a hair transplant. It helps to distribute natural oils from the scalp to the ends of the hair, keeping it moisturized and healthy. Furthermore, brushing your hair regularly can also prevent tangling and breakage.
Just as important as the hair brush is the hair comb. Ideal for detangling hair without causing unnecessary stress, a hair comb is a must-have in your hair care kit post-transplant. It is particularly beneficial for those who have had a hair transplant, as it helps prevent pulling or tugging on the new hair follicles.
Another key accessory for maintaining your newly transplanted hair is the hair dryer. While air-drying is the most gentle method, sometimes it may not be practical or possible. A hair dryer can speed up the drying process and give your hair a polished, styled look.
However, it's important to remember that heat can potentially damage hair. This is where hair straighteners and hair curlers come into play. These tools allow you to style your hair while minimizing the potential damage caused by heat. Hair straighteners can help tame frizz and give hair a sleek, smooth appearance. On the other hand, hair curlers can add volume and bounciness to your hair, giving it a fuller look post-transplant.
Finally, hair clips, hair bands, hair pins, and hair ties are all essential accessories to have in your arsenal. These tools help keep hair out of your face, secure hairstyles, and add a touch of style to your look. They are particularly useful during the healing process post-transplant when you need to keep hair away from the scalp to reduce tension on new hair follicles.
In conclusion, while having a hair transplant in Turkey can give you a renewed sense of confidence with a fuller head of hair, it is crucial to maintain the health and appearance of your new hair with the right hair accessories. These tools can make your post-transplant care routine easier and more efficient, ensuring that your new hair remains as healthy and vibrant as possible.
Exploring Hair Transplant Alternatives in Turkey: Extensions, Wigs, Toupees, Weaves, and Pieces
Hair transplant in Turkey offers a diverse range of solutions for individuals experiencing hair loss. However, not everyone is comfortable with the idea of undergoing a surgical procedure. This is where hair extensions, wigs, toupees, hair weaves, and hair pieces come into play. These non-surgical solutions can provide an immediate transformation without the need for a surgical procedure.
Hair extensions are a popular choice for those who want to add volume and length to their existing hair. They are attached to the natural hair and can blend seamlessly, giving the illusion of fuller, longer hair. Extensions can be made from real or synthetic hair, and Turkey is known for its high-quality hair extensions that can match a variety of hair types and colors.
For individuals experiencing significant hair loss, wigs may be a more suitable option. Wigs can provide a completely new look, covering the entire scalp. The modern-day wigs available in Turkey are designed to look and feel natural, offering an impressive level of comfort and realism.
Toupees, on the other hand, are smaller than wigs and are typically used to cover specific areas of hair loss, such as the crown of the head. Toupees in Turkey are custom-made to match the individual's hair color, texture, and density, ensuring a seamless blend with the existing hair.
Hair weaves are another non-surgical solution to hair loss. This method involves braiding the existing hair and sewing in additional hair, either in wefts or as individual strands. Hair weaves can add significant volume and length, and are a popular choice in Turkey for individuals with thinning hair.
Lastly, hair pieces are similar to toupees, but they are typically used to cover smaller areas of hair loss. Hair pieces can be clipped, glued, or sewn into the existing hair, providing a solution that is both natural-looking and secure.
In conclusion, while hair transplant is a popular solution for hair loss in Turkey, there are numerous non-surgical alternatives available. From hair extensions to wigs, toupees, hair weaves, and hair pieces, individuals experiencing hair loss have a wealth of options to choose from.
Enhancing Your Look Post Hair Transplant in Turkey: Eye Makeup and Eyebrow Techniques
One of the best ways to complement your new hair transplant in Turkey is to pay attention to other areas of your face, such as your eyes and eyebrows. Opting for false eyelashes, for instance, can really make your eyes pop and draw attention to your beautiful new hairline. False eyelashes come in a variety of styles to suit every eye shape and personal preference. From dramatic, thick lashes for a night out to subtle, natural-looking lashes for everyday wear, you're sure to find the perfect pair to enhance your look.
Eyebrow shaping is another way to highlight your newly transplanted hair. A well-shaped eyebrow can change the entire look of your face and create a more balanced, harmonious appearance. Whether you prefer a bold, thick eyebrow or a thin, delicate shape, a professional can help you achieve your desired look.
Eyebrow threading is a popular method of eyebrow shaping. This technique uses a thin cotton thread to remove unwanted hair, creating a clean, precise shape. Alternatively, eyebrow waxing is a quick and efficient method of removing large amounts of hair at once. Both methods can help define your eyebrows and enhance your overall look.
Eyebrow tinting is another service you might want to consider after your hair transplant in Turkey. This procedure involves applying a semi-permanent dye to your eyebrows, giving them a fuller, more defined appearance. The color can be customized to match your new hair color perfectly, ensuring a cohesive look.
Eyebrow microblading is a more permanent solution for those looking to enhance their eyebrows. This technique involves tattooing individual hair strokes onto the skin, creating the illusion of fuller, perfectly shaped eyebrows.
To further highlight your eyes, consider eyelash extensions. These semi-permanent lashes are glued to your natural lashes, creating a fuller, longer look. They can last for several weeks with proper care, making them a convenient option for those who want to minimize their daily makeup routine.
An eyelash curler can also help to lift and curl your lashes, creating an open, awake look. This tool can be used on both your natural lashes and eyelash extensions.
Eyelash serum is another great product to incorporate into your routine. This product is designed to nourish your lashes, promoting growth and strength. Combined with mascara, eyelash serum can help your lashes look fuller and longer.
Speaking of mascara, this essential makeup product can help enhance your lashes, adding length and volume. Whether you prefer a waterproof formula or a lengthening one, mascara is a must-have item to complement your hair transplant in Turkey.
In conclusion, while your new hair transplant in Turkey is sure to enhance your appearance, don't forget about your eyes and eyebrows. By utilizing techniques like eyebrow shaping, threading, and tinting, and incorporating tools and products like false eyelashes, eyelash extensions, eyelash curlers, eyelash serum, and mascara, you can create a balanced, harmonious look that truly highlights your new hair.
Preparing Your Skin for Hair Transplant in Turkey: A Comprehensive Guide to Skin Care
Before embarking on your journey for a hair transplant in Turkey, it's essential to consider the health of your skin. This includes the routine of makeup removal, using the right facial cleanser, moisturizer, and more. Proper skin care is crucial in creating the best environment for a successful hair transplant procedure.
Firstly, makeup removal is a must. The chemicals in makeup can interfere with the hair transplant process, and hence, it's important to thoroughly cleanse your skin before the procedure. A gentle facial cleanser should be used to remove all traces of makeup and dirt from your skin. This facilitates a clean surface for the hair transplant procedure, promoting better graft survival and overall results.
Next, moisturizing is a step that should never be skipped. A good moisturizer helps maintain the skin's natural moisture barrier and provides a protective layer for your skin. This is vital in the days leading up to your hair transplant in Turkey as it can help keep your skin in optimal condition for the procedure.
Sunscreen also plays an important role in pre-hair transplant skin care. It is essential to shield your skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun, as sun damage can affect the health of your skin and potentially impact the success of your hair transplant.
Anti-aging creams and serums are beneficial for maintaining the elasticity and health of your skin. Face serums, in particular, deliver a high concentration of active ingredients to your skin, which can aid in creating a healthier environment for your hair transplant.
Skin exfoliation is another crucial step. It helps in removing dead skin cells, allowing your skin to better absorb the nutrients from your skincare products. However, remember to exfoliate gently to avoid causing any irritation or damage to your skin.
Acne treatment is also important. If you are prone to breakouts, it's advised to manage your acne before your hair transplant procedure. This is because active acne can pose a risk of infection during the procedure.
The use of a face mask can help deliver nutrients deep into your skin, and an under eye cream can help maintain the health of the delicate skin around your eyes. This complete skincare routine will ensure that your skin is in its best condition, ready for your hair transplant in Turkey.
Enhancing Your Look: The Importance of Lip Care in Hair Transplant Recovery in Turkey
When discussing hair transplant in Turkey, it's not just about the hair on your head. As a holistic process, it also involves paying attention to other aspects of your appearance. One often overlooked area is lip care. This article will delve into the significance of lip care post-hair transplant, and how elements like lip balm, lip scrub, and lip mask can aid in your overall recovery and appearance.
Firstly, let's address the importance of lip care. Your lips, much like your scalp, are sensitive and prone to dryness and irritation. This can be exacerbated by the stress and strain your body goes through during a hair transplant. Therefore, taking care of your lips is a crucial part of the recovery process.
Lip balm is a key component of lip care. It helps to keep your lips moisturized and protected, particularly in the dry climate of Turkey. Regular application of lip balm can prevent chapping and flaking, ensuring your lips remain soft and supple. It may not directly impact your hair transplant results, but it can definitely enhance your overall appearance.
A good lip scrub, on the other hand, is all about exfoliation. It gently removes dead skin cells, revealing the fresh and healthy skin beneath. This is particularly beneficial after a hair transplant, as your body is working hard to heal and renew itself. Incorporating a lip scrub into your post-transplant skincare routine can thus not only maintain the health of your lips but also contribute to a more vibrant and youthful look.
Lastly, let's talk about the lip mask. Much like a face mask, a lip mask is designed to provide an intense burst of hydration and nourishment. After a hair transplant procedure, your body needs all the care it can get. A lip mask can provide that extra boost, leaving your lips feeling revitalized and refreshed.
In conclusion, while the primary focus of a hair transplant in Turkey is to address hair loss, it's important not to neglect other aspects of your appearance. Lip care, involving the use of lip balm, lip scrub, and lip mask, plays a crucial role in your overall recovery and aesthetic appeal. So, while you're caring for your new hair, don't forget to show some love to your lips as well.
Enhancing Hair Growth Post-Transplant: The Role of Vitamins, Diet, and Lifestyle
The success of a hair transplant in Turkey is not solely dependent on the surgical procedure. Rather, it is a combination of the procedure itself and the aftercare that the patient adheres to. A crucial aspect of this aftercare involves paying close attention to one's diet and lifestyle, which can significantly influence the overall outcome of the hair transplant.
Hair vitamins, such as biotin, play an integral part in promoting healthy hair growth after a hair transplant. Biotin, also known as vitamin B7, is renowned for its role in improving the infrastructure of keratin, a protein that makes up hair, skin, and nails. By incorporating biotin-rich foods into your diet or taking biotin supplements, you can potentially enhance the growth of your transplanted hair.
A protein-rich diet is another vital component for hair growth post-transplant. Hair follicles are primarily made up of protein, thus a diet lacking in this nutrient can hinder hair growth and lead to hair weakness. Consuming protein-rich foods can provide the necessary nutrients for the new hair follicles, ensuring their optimal growth and strength.
Stress management is undeniably crucial in the hair transplant journey. High levels of stress can potentially lead to hair loss, a situation that can be devastating, particularly after a hair transplant. Engaging in stress management techniques such as meditation, yoga, or even simple breathing exercises can aid in maintaining a healthy mental state, thus promoting better hair health.
Lastly, living a healthy lifestyle is key to successful hair growth after a hair transplant in Turkey. This includes regular exercise, adequate sleep, and abstaining from harmful habits such as smoking and excessive alcohol consumption. These practices not only promote overall health but also ensure that your body is in the best condition to support and sustain the newly transplained hair follicles.
In conclusion, hair transplant success is not just about the procedure but also about the aftercare. By considering these factors - hair vitamins like biotin, maintaining a protein-rich diet, managing stress, and living a healthy lifestyle, patients can significantly increase the chances of their hair transplant success.
Enhancing Hair Transplant Success: Incorporating Healthy Habits in Turkey
After having a hair transplant in Turkey, it is essential to follow a comprehensive post-operative care routine to ensure the success of the procedure. This involves maintaining a healthy lifestyle, following a strict hair care routine, and ensuring optimal scalp health.
A protein-rich diet forms the foundation of a healthy lifestyle, which is a critical aspect of hair transplant recovery. Consuming foods high in protein, such as lean meats, eggs, and legumes, can significantly enhance the growth and strength of new hair follicles. Moreover, incorporating hair vitamins like biotin into your diet can further enhance the health and vibrancy of your hair.
Alongside a balanced diet, stress management plays an equally important role in hair transplant success. Chronic stress can negatively impact the health of your hair, slowing down the growth of new hair follicles. Therefore, following stress management techniques such as yoga, meditation, and regular exercise can significantly enhance the outcomes of a hair transplant procedure.
Hair hygiene is another critical aspect of post-operative care. Using the right hair products, such as a gentle shampoo and conditioner, can help maintain the health of newly transplanted hair follicles. It's also essential to regularly apply hair oil and a hair mask to keep your scalp nourished, ensuring the longevity of the transplant.
A personalized hair care routine can go a long way in preserving the results of your hair transplant. This might include regular hair washing, using a soft towel to dry your hair, and avoiding harsh hair products. Regular scalp massages can also stimulate blood flow and promote hair growth.
These hair care tips, combined with a healthy lifestyle and stress management, can significantly enhance the success of a hair transplant procedure. While a hair transplant in Turkey can provide you with a full head of hair, maintaining it requires consistent effort and care. So, embrace these habits for a successful hair transplant journey. Remember, your hair is an investment, and how you treat it post-transplant can determine how long-lasting and effective your transplant results will be.

HOW TO BECOME A FIGHTER PILOT
So as you may or may not know, I am writing a fanfic. Unfortunately for me, I can never do things half way, and because aviation is my passion I must do hours of research on a particular subject that I probably won't even use or reference in said fanfic. Here is a guide for how our favorite characters (probably) became fighter pilots. If there are inaccuracies let me know, I want to know :)
United States Naval Academy
The USNA is an undergraduate college that is a combination of academics and military development programs. Students who want to go into Flight School could qualify with one of a variety of different majors, but there are particular majors that obviously may provide a bit of an advantage to aspiring pilots. The USNA currently offers a variety of different majors and minors, though there are fewer than you might expect from a typical university, and overall the degrees are more tailored towards the Navy. They encourage participation in athletics in the form of a Varsity or club/intramural sport(1).
NOTE: Maverick likely attended a regular college and was a part of the Naval ROTC program at that school. He would have gotten his degree in a field relevant to aviation, likely Mechanical Engineering given his mechanical aptitude seen in Top Gun Maverick, and then attended the 13-week program called Officer Candidate School. To be honest, Maverick’s path within the Navy is a mess and impossible to follow but in the most straightforward scenario, he would go to flight school following Officer Candidate School.
Flight School
Flight School is an approximately 2-year-long program that is required for Naval Aviators to earn their wings. Primarily located at the “Cradle of Naval Aviation” aka Pensacola, FL, flight school consists of many different phases that will divide students into different specializations.
1. Naval Introductory Flight Evaluation (NIFE)
Divided into four phases, NIFE is a program that evaluates students’ aeronautical aptitude as well as screens them to ensure they’re capable of becoming aviators. Students may earn a “pink sheet” for any score below 80% or a failure of a task, requiring them to stand before a panel of instructors to explain why they failed and how they plan to improve. Too many pink sheets result in removal from the program(2).
1a. Water Survival Training Following medical clearance, students are taught and tested on their ability to swim while wearing flight gear as well as formerly instructed on various survival techniques and CPR(2).
1b. Academics  A 3-week phase where students take classes and exams in five subjects. It is condensed to test a student’s ability to retain information, learn new information in a high-stress environment, and challenge their self-discipline in regard to time management and other areas(2).
1c. Introductory Flight Screening (IFS) Students are entered into a 2-week-long modified civilian flight training program where one week is dedicated to ground school courses before they must conduct a series of flights in a Cessna using Navy flight procedures during the second week. Students had to memorize and prioritize information to complete the flights, specifically in regard to conducting pre-flight briefings and emergency procedures. Overall, they’ll conduct seven flights in which they are required to complete a set of standardized maneuvers(2).
1d. Aviation Physiology A week-long training course that consists of emergency-specific training evolutions such as the hypoxia chamber, emergency first aid, and the “helo dunker.” The “helo dunker” (from what I understand) is a particular training device that consists of strapping a pilot into a cockpit-like or helicopter contraption within a pool and submerging the entire structure under the water, simulating an environment in which their aircraft has landed in the water and they need to escape from the seat(3). An image of this can be seen below(2).
Tumblr media
The Top Gun cast had to undergo a similar training course in order to be allowed to fly in military airplanes for filming. A video of some of their training can be viewed below.
youtube
2b. Aviation Pre-Flight Indoctrination
A 6-week long program that marks the beginning of the aviation pipeline. Located in Pensacola, FL, students attend classes covering the basics of aerodynamics, weather in relation to aviation, air navigation, flight rules and regulations, and aircraft engines and systems (3).
Prior to API, those interested in becoming Radar Intercept Officers (RIO) will have expressed their interest and requested a designation as a Naval Flight Officer (NFO).
2c. Primary Flight Training
A 6-month-long program that teaches the students the basics of flying. There are two locations for Primary, one at Training Air Wing 5 at Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Pensacola, FL, or Training Air Wing 4 at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi, TX. Both Naval Air Stations (NAS) are taught the same curriculum and fly the same aircraft, the T-6 Texan II. The students learn about the instruments, flight basics, radio instrument navigation, formation flying, and aerobatics, and also conduct several solo flights. At the end of Primary, students choose which pipeline they would like. This is conducted depending on the needs of the Navy and how many spots are available(3).
Obviously, Iceman, Slider, Goose, Cougar, and everyone else got Jets, though they may not have gone through flight school at the same time.
2d. Intermediate Flight Training
Intermediate Flight Training is a 27-week program. Split into five platforms; Jet, E2/C2, Helicopter, Maritime, and E-6 TACAMO. The jet platform flight training focuses more on navigation, air traffic control, individual skills, and cooperative skills of flying jets. The intermediate flight training program for jets is located at Meridian, MS (Training Air Wing One) at either VT-7 or VT-9, and Kingsville, TX (Training Air Wing Two) at either VT-21 or VT-22, both of which teach the same curriculum. Students in the jet platform will complete 58 graded flights in the T-45C Goshawk jet trainer aircraft(3).
2e. Advanced Flight Training
Similar to Intermediate Flight Training, the program is split into five platforms but lasts 23 weeks. The students will probably have stayed with the same training squadron throughout the intermediate and advanced flight training. This stage includes learning skills specific to the chosen platform. The Advanced Flight Training program for jets is what’s called the Strike Syllabus. The Strike Syllabus includes an additional 67 graded flights in the T-45 covering air combat maneuvers, low-level navigation, tactical formation flying, and aircraft carrier qualifications. Students will then graduate from Advanced Flight Training with the Wings of Gold(3).
3. Squadron Selection
The final selection process assigns naval aviators to a particular squadron based on the needs of the service. Naval Aviators are assigned to a fleet replacement squadron or other similar training assignments for further training on their specific aircraft type. Here, RIOs and pilots must become qualified by gaining the required flight hours and meeting the proficiency standards necessary.
NOTE: It’s kind of hard to figure out when exactly the RIO training occurs. I know it takes place over the course of all the primary through advanced training occurs as well but I’m not sure if they have to attend seperate courses for it.
TOPGUN
From there, pilots and RIOs may have been moved to their first official squadron for deployment. They would have been in their first squadron for approximately one and a half years, deploying with them. Their squadron would come back from a deployment and during the stand-down time before their next deployment, their commanding officer would select them to go to TOPGUN.

𝐓𝐚𝐠𝐬: @thel0velykey190 @oharaludes @deputy-videogamer
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: You’re finally given a diagnosis from the hospital on why you’re experiencing memory loss. After being discharged, Miguel leads you through the city of Nueva York and shows you memories of your shared life. However one question still nags your mind: what was the cause of the accident?
𝐀/𝐍: I’m not the sentimental type but I know Miguel will be, especially with reader’s cooking 🥹🫠
Tumblr media
It’s been several days since you woke up from your comatose state. Everything was far out of your reach, even your memory of your husband. During those days while you were staying in the hospital, the nurse had been taking different tests to identify the cause of your memory loss. You had to move from different departments in the hospital including the Emergency Department and Neurophysiology Department. You were assessed with various aspects of your brain function including your reflexes and brain coordination. Though the most daunting part was imaging studies where they had to scan around the head area to identify anything unusual in your brain functioning or blood flow. You were uncomfortable with the thought of lying down and sliding into the tunnel, which seemed to swallow you whole. It didn’t help that they had to strap you to the bed to ensure you stayed still while the scan was on but Miguel was there with you throughout the procedure, constantly reassuring you and reminding you that it was important to do these tests so you could have a better understanding on what’s going on with your mental state.
But even with his constant presence, you still couldn’t shake off the drowning feeling of being lost. It was suffocating at times and you knew Miguel was trying his best to make you feel comfortable and safe as a husband should but no matter how hard you tried, Miguel just couldn’t feel like home to you; even if you didn’t really know what home was.
After the CT scan, you were given a diagnosis and the doctors had told you that you have a Traumatic Brain Injury and the memory loss was caused by Post-Traumatic Anemia. Your initial reaction was pure confusion - it all sounded like mere words to you until they explained that some regions in your brain were damaged after the accident. The thought made you feel uneasy. You realised that these damaged regions held the key to your core memories that you’ll never recover from. You couldn’t even remember what led up to the accident but whatever it was must’ve been something disastrous. After finalising everything, you were prescribed pain killers for the headaches and were discharged from the hospital, now sitting on the passenger side of Miguel’s car and on your way home. The car ride was quiet but comfortable. However, there was the queasy feeling of anticipation that settled at the pit of your gut not only because of the diagnosis but also with whatever lies ahead in the future, making you fidget in your seat; your clothes brushing against the leather seat was the only noise in the car that filled the silence. Miguel seemed to notice and tried to distract you from your thoughts.
“Mi amor, do you recognise these streets? Are you familiar with where we are?” Miguel looked at you briefly as he spoke before his eyes were on the road again. Every street looked the same to you especially now when it was dark out and all you could catch were streetlights and headlights.
“Barely…” You replied dryly. You scanned your surroundings and tried to jog your memory again. The bustling metropolis with its constant car honking, swarming pedestrians and the distant whine of sirens was a significant contrast to the still hospital room being engulfed by pale walls and the sickly sweet smell of disinfectant. Sure, the hospital was chaotic sometimes but it was still organised and everyone had their own roles and knew what to do. Here in the streets, everyone was unpredictable with where they were going to go. Some formed crowds like a moth surrounding a light bulb and some were walking alone. Even though it was well past rush hour and it was late, the streets were still packed.
“Barely? So you do recognise it a little?” Miguel said, his voice had some optimism to it. He glanced back at you again and tried to read your expression.
“Yeah…. I remember being surrounded by buildings and lights like this before but I don’t know exactly where we are.” You knew that you lived in Nueva York which was a busy city and was always surrounded by tall buildings but you couldn’t distinguish any of them or any of the landmarks.
“That’s alright mi amor… it’ll take some time getting used to. We’re almost home now.” Miguel was now driving to a quieter neighbourhood with less people and more residential areas. The streets were now filled with houses and garages. Miguel parked up the car in front of one of the houses and killed the engine.
“We’re here…home sweet home.” He announced. He got out of the car first before going to the passenger side and opening the door for you. You stepped out of the car and observed the exterior of the house. Miguel opened the front door and gestured for you to follow him. You were first introduced to the hallway that led you to the living room.
“This is our place?” You asked, taking in the interior. The living room was pretty spacious only because there wasn’t too much furniture around. The decor was pretty simple with a few paintings on the wall which made the room feel more cozy. The room was illuminated with a warm gentle glow of the wall sconces that were strategically lined on the walls and casted comforting shadows around the room.
“Sí mi amor. We’ve made this a home together.” He then took you to the kitchen which was half the size of the living room but it was still just as welcoming, with a small dining table and two chairs. You imagined how unbearable it must’ve been for Miguel to sit there alone for so long with an empty chair in front of him, the chair where you were supposed to be. “How about I make you some dinner…I’m sure you’re bored of eating the hospital's bland food.” He chuckled before gathering the ingredients in the pantry.
“You don’t have to go through extra trouble for me.”
“Trouble? Cooking for my beautiful wife is never trouble, mi vida.” He smirked almost as if what you said was plain nonsense. Your heart soared regardless. A change of food choices was needed. Even though you couldn’t remember what Miguel’s food was like, you still looked forward to whatever he had planned and food made by his own hands made it even more special. The kitchen was now full of the aroma of spices and oil with the sound of sizzling from the pan. A few moments later, Miguel returned to you with two plates full of food and put one in front of you with the steam hitting your nostrils.
“Thank you. It looks lovely.” You took a bite with your fork and were blown away with new flavours and spices. The texture was just right, now that it was easier to swallow solid food.
“How does it taste, hermosa?” Miguel asked, a hint of apprehension reflected in his eyes.
“It’s delicious! Definitely better than the hospital food.” You beamed, taking another mouth full. Miguel watched you in amusement.
“Thank you, but it will never be as good as your cooking.”
“I could cook better than this?” The statement sounded hard to believe.
“Sí…you know the night before the incident you made an amazing dinner and there were a lot of leftovers.” He paused, a smile tugged on his lips as he recalled the memory of that night - it must’ve been really special to him. “I decided to freeze it so I could preserve it as long as I could. I was hoping I could have a piece of you with me whenever I was having dinner while you were still in a coma. It was like you were there with me.”
“Really? Miguel, I’m flattered.” Everything Miguel had told you so far would always bring a shock to you but this carried a lot more weight to it. You tried to imagine yourself in this kitchen, cooking a meal for the two of you. You were probably very passionate about everything you made and Miguel would come home to you with a freshly cooked meal. Or maybe you only cooked just to survive and made whatever was available and Miguel would appreciate it anyways. Regardless, the fact that Miguel preserved your cooking must’ve meant that your food was decent enough at least. It clearly held a special place in his heart. After dinner, Miguel led you out of the kitchen.
“Come on, mi vida. Let me show you our bedroom.” He held your hands as he spoke and took you up the stairs.
The bedroom was just as simple yet cozy as the rest of the house. The first thing you noticed was the bed that was placed in the middle against the far wall. A testament of your shared space. The bed itself looked inviting with its crisp white linen and plumped pillows layer out nicely. On each side were two nightstands with a collection of objects on each. One side had a collection of old books and the opposite had a vase with a bouquet of dried roses.
“I want to show you something.” Miguel said as he opened a drawer from one of the cabinets and took out a thick book.
“What is it?” You asked. He took a seat on the bed and gestured for you to sit with him, patting the empty space besides him. You followed suit and sat on the bed, your arm pressed against his strong ones making your cheeks heat up a little. You were still not used to being in close proximity to his muscles yet.
“Our wedding photo album.” He said as he opened the book to show you the first few pictures. There were some photos of you taken separately and some standing together. You ran your fingers over the pages, studying each picture, more specifically the dress you were wearing. You had to admit to yourself that you looked magical in your wedding dress. It was flattering on your body type and your hair was styled beautifully with some floral decorations etched in your locks.
“This is ... incredible. Is that the wedding dress I chose? It’s beautiful.” You said in awe, still marveling at the pictures.
“Yes, you chose this dress, mi amor. It took you almost a week to finally pick the perfect one. You were radiant that day. Though, I think you would’ve looked good in anything.” Miguel commented. You turned the page to a picture of you and Miguel at the altar. You were hand in hand and facing each other, the picture captured the both of you laughing at something. This must’ve been when you were exchanging your vows.
“Tell me about this moment.” You pointed at the photo.
“That was when you tried to steal a kiss before I could say ‘I do.’” He chuckled at the memory. It was frustrating that you couldn't recall any of this, especially the fact that your relationship with Miguel must’ve been full of banter like this. But flipping through the album gave you a glimpse of your marriage dynamics. You hoped that things will be carefree between the two of you like that again.
“Thank you for showing me this, Miguel…” you smiled, your heart felt a little fuller now after seeing those pictures but you noticed Miguel’s expression dropped as he closed the book and placed it on one of the nightstands. He turned to face you again, his eyes flicking with something you couldn’t read.
“Mi amor,” he held onto your fingers again and caressed the knuckles with his thumbs, just like how he did in the hospital, the moment you woke up from your comatose state for the first time. “I know this will sound sudden but I have to know…do you love me?” His voice trembled. The question took you by surprise, you didn’t expect to be asked about this. You thought for a moment and tried to come up with an answer without sounding dismissive. Miguel looked deep into your eyes, desperately trying to read your expression.
“It’s not that I don’t want to, Miguel.” You began, your voice was laced with uncertainty. The room became hushed, recognising the gravity of the situation. “…but everything is so distant and out of my reach. It’s hard to love someone that you barely remember.” Miguel’s expression revealed his pain as he listened intently to your answer. The air seemed to be amplified by the fragility of the situation as he continued.
“What about attraction? Are you drawn to me, even a little?” There was pain evident in his voice now as he spoke. You hesitated as you tried to find the words and navigated through your complex thoughts.
“I feel something…but it’s like trying to catch smoke with my bare hands.”
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked. But the thought of losing that connection we had, the thought of losing us…it’s tearing me apart.” He released his grip from your fingers and fell limply on his lap. You desperately wanted to comfort him but you couldn’t find the words to and you couldn’t lie about your feelings either. All you could do was watch and you felt a little useless not knowing what to do.
“Miguel, can I get a little closer to you? Can we lay down and cuddle on the bed…on our bed?” You asked, hoping you could lift his somber mood. He looked back up at you and smiled after hearing you ask that.
“Sí. There’s nothing I would want more than to be close to you right now.” You both settled into the bed, facing each other with one of Miguel’s big arms wrapped around your waist and you nuzzled into the crook of his neck. “I missed having you in my arms like this, mi esposa.” He whispered, his breath fanning against your ear. You were engulfed by the soft comforter, almost like the bed recognised your presence and missed you laying on it. You imagined Miguel felt the same just like the two-seated dining table in the kitchen.
“It must've been torture having to sleep here alone for that long.” You commented.
“You have no idea…” He held you closer, afraid to let you slip away with his touch leaving an essence trail of musk and cinnamon. The two of you stayed in this position for a while in silence, until you remembered about Miguel’s work, breaking the stillness of the moment.
“Miguel, will you have to go back to work tomorrow?” You asked reluctantly.
“I’m afraid so, mi esposa.”
“But I don’t want you to leave me alone. Please…” your voice trembled.
“I know I know. I promise I’ll be back as soon as I can. But duty calls and I have to go.” His voice softened, trying to get you to understand. He hated leaving you alone especially in the current circumstances you were in but there are some things he just can’t ignore.
“You sound like a superhero saying that.” You joked, attempting to bring some light into the situation. But you didn’t expect to feel Miguel’s muscles clench around you, almost like what you said triggered something in his mind. The air thickened with a palpable tension that was almost suffocating. The change in mood made you retreat from his neck to see his face. His eyes looked like they were lost in thought while his body had stiffened, the sight made you slightly uncomfortable.
“Miguel… did I say something wrong?” You watched him blink rapidly out of his trance and relax his muscles. He looked back at you and his gaze softened again.
“You said nothing wrong mi amor…I promise I’ll explain everything about my job in due time okay? Do you think you could use tomorrow to familiarise yourself around the house while I’m gone? There’s more photo albums you could look at.” You were still hesitant about all of this but you didn’t want to get in the way of whatever was important to Miguel and his job so you nodded slowly, unable to voice your agreement. Miguel reached for your face, caressing your cheek and brushing his thumb lightly over your lower lip. He leaned in and planted a kiss on your forehead.
“Thank you for understanding,” He murmured, voice filled with relief. As the night progressed, you couldn’t help but wonder what was so important about Miguel’s job that you had to wait to find out and why nobody had told you about what caused the accident.
Tumblr media
No because now I’m getting more ideas on how to expand this. I was thinking of posting another chapter, explain the cause of the accident (yes it does involve Miguel being Spider-Man). Should I do it or just leave it to your interpretation??🤔
Maybe have Miguel’s POV this time?? I didn’t think I’d get this far?? Also first post-coma kiss??? I was gonna add that in this chapter but I think readers already been though so much and I want to wait for that perfect pivotal moment.

Chapter 19: President Dadshaw
Vice President Seresin was sitting peacefully in the audience of the first independent primary debate. He could tell that you and Bradley had some issues before coming here and that whatever they were, they were weighing heavily on Bradley.
The truth is, Bradley and Jake had never done a debate without you. They hardly ever went anywhere without you. You were their anchor.
Jake was listening to Governor Jackson drone on about he plans for foreign policy when he felt his phone vibrate. He noticed it was Jaycee calling. Jake thought it was odd that she would be calling him because he knew that she knew he was at the debate. Worried something had happened, he alerted Dante and the two of the stepped out.
"Hello?" Jake said into his phone as he and Dante found a secluded corner of the lobby.
"Jake! Oh my god! Thank God you picked up!" Jaycee practically shouted.
"Jay, is everything okay?" Jake asked. He could hear the worry in her voice.
"No! Everything is not okay. You need to get Bradley out of that debate now! Y/N's water broke, and we are about to take her to the hospital!" Jaycee panted. Jake could hear her running around in the background.
"Oh my god! Okay, Dante and I will get him, and we will be there ASAP." Jake replied quickly before hanging up the phone.
"Dante. We need the president now. The Y/N is in labor, and they are taking her to Walter Reed right now. We have to meet them there." Jake stated. Dante nodded his head and sprang into action.
He wasted no time sprinting back into the auditorium and rushing to the the stage.
"Sir, we are in the middle of the debate, you cannot be out here right now!" The moderator shouted. Dante ignored him as he told Bradley what was happening, and his eyes went wide.
"Folks, I must apologize, I— there is an emergency, and I cannot continue with this debate. Please forgive me." Bradley spoke as he turned to follow Dante.
"Is there actually an emergency, or are you just afraid that you're losing, Mr. President?" Governor Jackson sneered into his microphone.
Bradley stopped. His shoulders tensed up before he turned on his heels and stormed his way back to the podium.
"For your information, Mr. Jackson, I've just been told that my wife is in labor, and I would very much like to be there for the birth of my children. Is that going to be a problem? If so, you can send a formal complaint to my office, and I can file it in the exact same place where I would file your foreign policy proposal—in the trash." Everyone was dead silently.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have somewhere to be. Thank you." Bradley said as he nodded his head and left.
....................
"Jaycee, what if Bradley doesn't make it to the hospital in time? What if he misses their birth. I can't deliver these two without him." You panicked as the SUV the two of you were in zoomed through the streets of D.C.
"Eveything is going to be fine. Jake and Dante are bringing him. Don't worry." Jaycee said as she patted your hand. Another contraction ripped through your body. They were getting closer together now and you were freaking out.
The White House staff had already alerted Walter Reed Medical Center that you were on your way, and they would be ready to take you into an operating room as soon as you got there. Dr. Park had explained that it was standard procedure with twins, just in case things went south, but you had planned to deliver naturally if at all possible.
The dark SUV screeched to a hault in front of the emergency doors. A nurse came with a wheelchair as Jaycee helped you in. You were quickly wheeled in where your vitals were taken, and you changed into a pink hospital gown. Soon, you were hooked to monitors for you and the twins and Dr. Park determined you were five centimeters dilated already.
Jaycee sat with you and held your hand as you went through more contractions. In the hurry to get out the door, you'd left your phone. Jaycee was trying to get ahold of Jake and Bradley but was unsuccessful.
"Jay, any word?" You grunted out. "No, love. I'm sorry." Jaycee responded as she gave your had a squeeze.
"How am I supposed to do this without him? I know we had a fight before he left, but I didn't mean what I said, and I know he didn't either. We are both just stressed. What if he isn't coming?" You cried.
"Hey, we aren't going to think like that. I can only imagine the stress you two are under. Bradley loves you more than anything in this world. He is going to be here for you. No debate is more important than you and these two kiddos to him." Jaycee spoke softly as she wiped a tear from your face.
"And if these two are in such a hurry and he doesn't make it, I'll be right here with you holding your hand. You didn't leave me when I needed you, and I'm damn sure not leaving you now." Jaycee assured you with a teary smile.
You smiled back at her and gritted your teeth through another contraction. You briefly thought about calling your mother and father, but they didn't deserve to be a part of this.
"Can you call Penny and Maverick? Bradley would want them to be here." You asked Jaycee. They had flown in earlier this week ahead of your induction. You and Bradley had already decided that they would be the grandparents your children needed and deserved.
Jaycee nodded her head and dialed him. Maverick picked up on the first ring and immediately told Jaycee that he and Penny would be there soon.
................
"Dante! Why aren't we moving?" Bradley shouted from the backseat of his car. His leg bounced nervously against the floorboard.
"Sir, traffic has stopped. It looks like there is an accident up ahead." Dante said.
"How far away are we from Walter Reed?" Bradley asked.
"About ten blocks, sir." Dante informs him. "I'm sure things will get moving soon. My wife was in labor for quite a while with our first one. You shouldn't have anything to worry about." Dante tried to reassure Bradley, who was looking worse for wear.
"Oh shit!" Jake exclaimed when he took his phone out of his pocket. He'd never turned the ringer up, and he had several missed calls and texts from Jaycee. He also had one from Mav and Penny informing him they were on their way.
He quickly called Jaycee, who informed him that you were settled in a room, and apparently, seven centimeters dilated.
He passed the information on to Bradley, and that seemed to only make things worse. "Her labor is progressing pretty fast." Dante remarked. He was trying to keep his cool, but a sweat had broken out across his brow. "Sir, I'm trying, I really am, but we are at a standstill. Jamison, are you picking up any chatter that this might clear soon?" Dante asked his partner.
"Negative, Dante. It's a pile-up. The traffic reports are saying it might take hours to clear." Jamison replied.
Bradley let out an exasperated sigh. He didn't have hours. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He knew how to get to Walter Reed from here, and ten blocks really wasn't that far. Surely he could get there before traffic would clear.
So, he decided on a little less thinking and a little more doing. Before anyone could talk him out of it, Bradley ripped off his purple tie, tore off his suit jacket, and jumped out of the car.
"Rooster! What the fuck are you doing man?" Jake yelled as he and Dante jumped out after him.
"Not thinking! I have to be there for her! I'm not missing this!" Bradley yelled behind him as he started running down the sidewalk in the direction of the hospital as fast as his sleek dress shoes would take him.
Dante shrugged and looked at Jake and Jamison. "Well, aren't you going to follow him?" Dante asked as he looked at his partner. "Why me?" Jamison asked with a befuddled look.
"You're a decade younger than me and have better knees. We can't just let the president run through Maryland by himself. Hop to it." Dante instructed. Jamison shook his head before taking off after Bradley.
Bradley's feet came down hard on the sidewalk. He vaguely heard Jamsion yelling behind him, asking him to slow down, but he wouldn't. He couldn't. Bradley was sure that people in the stopped cars were wondering why the president of the United States was running down the street in the late evening, and he knew there would probably be pictures and videos on social media and in the news that you would inevitably scold him for, but he didn't care.
He'd left you on such a sour note, and now he could potentially miss the birth of his children.
He rounded another block, running right in front of a cab and past a group of middle-aged women and their dogs. He hurdled over a curb before making another turn. Soon, the front of the hospital was in sight.
His legs were burning, his lungs were on fire, and his feet felt like bricks, but he didn't slow down. He ran through the parking lot straight into the lobby. He barreled to a stop right in front of the nurses station and information desk.
"My—I—she—we—where?" Bradley panted out. His hands were on his knees, and his face was flushed as he tried to talk to the poor, startled young woman at the desk. She sat there unsure how to respond. Instead, she silently got up and led Bradley down the hall.
She stopped outside an unmarked wooden door. Bradley could hear your groans of pain as he stood outside. She knocked on the door. It opened, and Bradley wqs quickly let inside.
"Sweetheart!" He exclaimed as soon as he came in. Your eyes darted over to him. "Bradley!" You cried as soon as you saw him.
He tried to rush towards you, but a nurse quickly stopped him. "Mr. President. This is technically an operating room. I'll need you to change and scrub up, just in case They told him. Bradley nodded and was led to a small area where the necessary garb he had to wear was waiting.
Once he was changed and had new shoes, courtesy of the hospital, because his fell apart the moment he stepped out of them, Bradley was by your side.
"I'm here, Sweetheart. I'm right here. And I'm so sorry about earlier." He sighed as he pushed some hair out of your face. Jaycee, now that Bradley had arrived, left to go wait for everyone else in the lobby.
"I'm sorry too. It's just so hard for me to turn off that part of my brain." You told him. "I'm so glad you're here. I hate that you had to leave the debate." You tell him.
"It's fine." He replies. "Why—" You begin just as another contraction hits, and you squeeze his hand. "Why are you so sweaty?" You finish. "Got stuck in traffic. Ran like ten blocks to get here, and my feet are killing me, but it's fine." Bradley half laughs.
"Oh, your feet hurt? Your poor thing." You tell him sarcastically. He opens his mouth to say something. But you lean forward and let out a string of curses as the most powerful contraction of the night rages though you.
"Mrs. Bradshaw, you're ten centimeters. You can push whenever you're ready." Dr. Park informs you. You have Bradley help you lean up and scoot closer to the edge of the bed.
"Bradley, I need you to promise me something." You tell him.
"What, Sweetheart?" He asks you. "If it comes down to it. If it's me or them—" you say.
"No." He cuts you off. "We aren't having this conversation because that's not going to happen." Bradley tells you in his most serious tone. He's read the books and seen the statistics just like you have. He doesn't want to think about anything bad happening because it's not. Everything is going to be fine.
"Bradley, please." You let out a tearful cry. "No, Y/N. I'm leaving the hospital with one wife and two babies. That's final." Bradley states. He prays that by speaking it into existence, it will be true. He doesn't want to think about any other outcomes. He doesn't want to be put in a position where he has to choose.
Bradley knows you'd pick the lives of your children over your own, and he knows you would want him to do the same, but deep down, Bradley was selfish. You could have other children, he couldn't have another you. And if it came down to it, he doesn't know if he would be strong enough to let you go.
He shakes the thought from his head, and you bear down. He wipes your brow and praises you while you are crushing his hand and cursing his name.
"You'd better get me the best damn push present, Bradley. I'm serious because I'm doing twice the work!" You bark out as you push.
"And baby number one is here! It's a girl!" Dr. Park exclaims as she holds up your daughter. Your anger fades into happiness as she is laid on your chest. "Hi, baby girl, welcome to the world." You say. Bradley is speechless as he looks at her in awe. Dr. Park gives the two of you a moment before asking Bradley to cut the cord. You only get a few minutes with your baby girl before it's time for her brother to make his debute.
Baby number two makes a much quicker entrance into the world. Just like his sister, he's placed on your chest for you to admire, and Bradley to be awe struck by.
After both of them are cleaned up and assessed, Dr. Park tells you they both seem to be in good health but wants all three of you to stay for a few days just to be sure. Later that night, you and Bradley are both too tired to sleep. You're both standing over the bassinets as you watch the two little lives you've created sleep peaceful side by side. You and the staff had tried to put them down separately, but they both cried until they were placed next to each other.
"You'd think they'd want their own space after sharing my womb for so long." You joked.
"Maybe this means they'll always be close." Bradley sighed as he placed a kiss to your temple. "You did so good, honey. They're perfect." Bradley praises you.
You smile at each other and enjoy the quiet. But the moment is soon interrupted, but the soft cry of your daughter.
"Oh no. Are you okay, Elle? You ask her as you carefully lift her up, trying not to disturb her brother. She opens her eyes and looks up at you. She blinks slowly before cooing softly. You know she's only a few hours old, but you can already tell she has your eyes and your nose. The dusting of hair on her head is almost the same color as yours.
Soon, your son, who you can already tell, will be his father's twin stirs. It's like he can sense his sister is missing. Bradley picks him up and gently rocks him. "It's okay, Andy. Elle is right here with Mommy. Daddy's got you, buddy." Bradley whispers to him.
After you feed both of them, they fall into a deep sleep. Bradley helps you into your bed before stretching out onto the roll away that was brought for him. Tomorrow, you'll let Maverick and Penny and Jake and Jaycee meet the twins. But tonight, you enjoy the moment where it is just the four of you.
..............
The morning light streamed into your hospital room earlier than you would have liked. You sat up looking for Bradley only to find him shirtless in an oversized chair with the twins on his chests and a blanket covering each of them.
"I gave them each a bottle, and we have just been hanging out. I know you said you wanted to try breastfeeding, but I didn't want to wake you." Bradley whispered to you from across the room.
"It's fine. Fed is best. Think you can handle it for a little bit longer? The lactation nurse said she would be here early this morning to show me the right way to use my pump and to help with latching." You told him. Bradley nodded and continued to live his best dad life as he quietly sang and whispered to the twins.
After a lesson in breastfeeding and pumping, you tried and were able to Andy and Elle to latch. You were able to pump a small amount, and the nurse reassured you that your supply would increase. You took it in stride, knowing you were going to try your best, but you wouldn't feel like a failure if you ended up having to formula feed.
Around lunch, you arranged for Maverick and Penny to come and visit, and Jake and Jaycee would come that evening.
Mav and Penny were speechless when they came into the room. You carefully scooped up your daughter and handed her to Penny once she had sat down. She and Mav looked at her and sighed. "She's beautiful. What's her name?" Penny asked.
"Her name is Eleanora Carole Bradshaw." You beamed at them. "And this is Andrew Nicholas Bradshaw." Bradley said as he gentle put your son in Pete's arms. "But for now, they are Andy and Elle." Bradley smiled. "Andy and Elle. How perfect." Maverick said with a few tears in his eyes.
"Your parents would be so proud." He told Bradley. "I know." Bradley smiled.
"What about your parents Y/N? Don't they want to meet their grandchildren?" Penny asked you.
"As far as I'm concerned, you two are the only grandparents they need. Maybe down the road, we can work something out, but for now, it's Grandpa Mav and Grandma Penny all the way." You assured her.
After a wonderful visit with their grandchildren, Pete and Penny left to let you rest before Jake and Jaycee came.
"So, who is older?" Jaycee asked. You ask she rocked Andy in her arms. "Elle is by thirteen minutes." You told her. "She just couldn't wait to get into the world to meet her Uncle Jake, huh?" Jake cooed as he held Elle. You and Jaycee both knew he was already wrapped around her finger, which was fine because Andy had already stolen Jaycee's heart.
"We have a question." Bradley blurted out.
"What?" Jake and Jaycee asked in unison.
"We want to know if you two would be their godparents?" Bradley asked them.
"Of course!" They both cheered. "How could we say no to these two?!" Jaycee asked as she booped Andy's nose.
"Five bucks says they are expecting less than a year after they get married." You whispered to Bradley as you watched Jake and Jaycee interact with your children. "Twenty bucks says that it's a honeymoon baby." Bradley counters.
"You're on." You snort as the two of you shake.
Soon, the evening wears away, and it's just the four of you again. News of your labor and delivery has spread. There are also several stories with photos and videos of Bradley racing to the hospital on foot. The media is also dragging Gary Jackson after his comment at the debate. A few organizations who support Bradley are already pushing the tagline "Put Governor Jackson where he belongs, in the trash!" You want to be mad at Bradley for that comment, but it's just so funny that you can't.
...................
The twins are exactly a month old when you and Bradley release the first official photo of them.
It's a beautiful family portrait of you and Bradley each sitting in a rocking chair the nursery in the White House. Bradley is dressed in a collared shirt with a sweater pulled over it with some khaki pants and a new pair of loafers. You're in a warm sweater dress and a pair of leggings and some boots. The twins are dressing in matching onsies and caps with their names stitched on them. You're hold Elle, and Bradley is holding Andy.
The caption reads:" The President and First Lady are excited to share the first official photo of the newest additions to their family. Eleanora Carole Bradshaw and Andrew Nicholas Bradshaw arrived on Thursday, January 27th, 2028. President and Mrs. Bradshaw are overjoyed at the love and support the nation as shown them as they have been adjusting to parenthood."
Parenthood had certainly been an adjustment for the two of you. You both knew that you would have a lot to learn, but you'd learn it together.

Honeycomb Valley Medical Park
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"This is Honeycomb Valley Medical Park", Rachel said to Malte in one of today's posts. So I figured I'll let you all take a closer look!
HV Medical Park consists of three separate buildings all on one lot. Like Rachel already explained, there used to be a big hospital here, but that is now located in "The Hills". Here, we now find a clinic, a GP and a veterinarian.
Veterinarian
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The vet's consists of a waiting room and two examination rooms. One is slightly more advanced than the other.
General Practitioner
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The GP holds a waiting room with a small pharmacy. Then a consult room and a small exam room.
Clinic
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The clinic is like a mini hospital. Here, the residents of Honeycomb Valley can go for small operative procedures, emergency aid, or to have a baby. The clinic also has a test room for basic medical tests. For more serious ailments or operations, the patient gets referred to Honeycomb Hospital in "The Hills."

How do doctor appointments normally go for the toys?
Depends!
The hospital visit post-rescue went better than expected due to just how exhausted most of them were. Even Catnap didn't have the energy to do much, although he did growl at the doctors and nurses. However, after that, Angel quickly realized the toys hated how similar the hospital was to Playtime Co.'s laboratories, and if they wanted the kids to cooperate, they would need to get creative with it.
Whenever it's possible, Angel has doctors and nurses going to the house instead of the other way around. Lessens the anxiety and helps the toys get used to other humans, but most importantly, starts making them trust said doctors.
Mommy Long Legs is usually agressive. Tells the doctors she's doing better than she is, and is deadly afraid of any injections or taking meds. It takes months for her to not have to get a day or two of emotionally getting ready for an appointment, and some more before she can feel like these strangers won't hurt her.
Catnap is similar to MLL, but he only behaves because his savior (Angel) trusts these people. When he drops the savior thing it's when he finally has a panic attack over an appointment, and when he realizes that yes, he's afraid of the hospital. Dogday is the one who helps him the most with this.
Speaking of which, Dogday is surprisingly calm. He knows these are good people trying their best to help him, and after getting an emergency surgery the same day he left the factory he assigns himself the role of helping the other toys calm down. He treats appointments like a necessary evil, even if sometimes he still flinches.
Miss Delight almost cries every single time a doctor or nurse is kind to her. What do you mean there's genuinely good people out there who don't think she's a monster?! Although a bit fidgety from time to time, she doesn't panic.
Huggy, Boxy, PJ and Kissy are wary at first, growling at the humans when they approach them, but with enough talk and patience, Angel convinces them to trust the medical team. They all get free lollipops and this is their favorite part of any doctor appointment.
Poppy is weirded out, fidgety, and doesn't understand why when she KNOWS she won't be hurt, but then it hits her that she doesn't have to shut herself up and just follow along if she doesn't feel comfortable to. Doctors respecting their patients? Now that's crazy!
KickinChicken is trembling the entire time he's at the hospital, not cooperating at all. He refuses to say it, but after a few weeks Angel finds out he doesn't even understand half the things the doctors are doing. He needs it explained to him in detail and why they're doing the procedures they're doing. After a few months he becomes less aggressive, but he needs someone with him at all times or else he will have a panic attack.
TRIGGER WARNING FOR SELF DESTRUCTIVE TENDENCIES AND SELF HARM FOR THIS PARAGRAPH. Picky is strangely lethargic. She lets the doctors and nurses do whatever, thinking that if they are doing something bad for her, it's because she deserves it. Can't believe anyone should help her after what she did to her friends. Becomes better with therapy, and is a very cooperative patient, although quiet.
Bobby is so scared, asking questions and begging that no one hurts her or touches her without warning. It doesn't take too much time for her to get used to other humans, and she easily gets attached to the medical staff. Loves all of then, but is easily hurt if anyone is mean or uncaring.
Hoppy is grumpy. She actually did hit one or two doctors during her rescue, but after that it's a series of "oh how fucking great, what are you going to do to me now, uh? Uh?", almost challenging the strangers to do something drastic. Also doesn't understand what they're doing to her, but only gets grumpier as she knows more and more. "Is this actually necessary?", she asks, time and time again. Only after months to a year she starts cooperating more, and that's only because Dogday or Angel are there following her to a doctor appointment.
Crafty is completely non-verbal for the first appointments, refusing to say anything that could potentially be used against her. That, or she straight-up lies and/or makes up stories for her injuries and how she's feeling. Needs to be explained the procedures, but doesn't care too much for the details, and stops lying after warming up to the other humans.
Bubba knows and understands the majority of the procedures, and is very calm. He uses logic and facts to calm himself down, and is the one that explains what the doctors are doing when a toy asks. Despite his calm exterior, however, he did have more than one flashback or episode during an appointment, and thought he could just tank through it, as if its a normal thing to happen. Needs to be reassured and calmed down, but also demands others to treat him like he didnt just have a flashback or episode.
Bunzo and the mini toys are screaming their lungs out. He's crying and sobbing and clinging to Angel for dear life, afraid they're going to give him away to the scientists Long Legs always told him about. Needs to be calmed down and gently reassured, and refuses to leave Angel's side. After getting used to the idea of doctors not experimenting on their patients, he's very cooperative!

Hi! I'm a trans guy pre on everything but i got my first doctor appointment on my local LGBT+ health's office and wanted to ask you, i know we all are different with our own doubts and experieces but still, what would you rec me to ask them? like in general doubts or explaining procedures/treatments. Bc sometimes i get anxious and forget to ask questions. Thank you in avance!
Howdy, sorry for the late reply! Let’s see, questions you can ask:
What are the benefits and pitfalls of each of the types of HRT available to me?
Which changes are permanent and which require HRT upkeep?
How will HRT affect my fertility or lack thereof? (Personal note: T is not birth control!!)
How soon should I start to see changes on each type of HRT?
If I get put on injections, will I be allowed to self-inject?
If so, ask for a demonstration of where and how to do it
How many weeks worth of T can I get at a time?
How often will I need to come in for blood tests?
(If you had blood work) Based on my blood work results, should I change anything about my diet or supplements?
Who can I contact if I need an emergency refill?
Who can I contact if something seems to be going wrong (not seeing results, unexpected results, etc)
What kind of surgical options are available to me? What kind of paperwork do I need for those?
(If you’re at all interested in or curious about surgical options) Can you recommend a surgical practice?
What all do I need in order to change my legal name and gender marker? Can I get help with the paperwork/legal aspect from somewhere local?
If you get put on injectable T: How should I dispose of my sharps boxes? (see below)
From experience: if you do get onto injectable T and are allowed to self-inject, shop online for three things in bulk:
1 mL Luer-lock disposable syringe barrels (I recommend BD general use, they’re great)
20 ga Luer-lock tri-bevel hypodermics (for drawing liquid)
23 to 25 ga Luer-lock tri-bevel hypodermics (for injecting)
A box of 100 of each will last you almost 2 years. Your pharmacy might offer you these free, but my experience has been that they’re kind of crap (dull needles are not fun); YMMV.
You can use a square of toilet paper soaked in 70% rubbing alcohol to sterilize your injection site, and another square to hold on the site after withdrawal afterward.
You will also need a “sharps box,” which is any sturdy, disposable plastic container that you can seal. You could spend $$ on buying a medical-grade one, but I just use an empty laundry detergent bottle. When it’s full, wrap the whole thing thoroughly in duct tape and write BIOHAZARD - SHARPS on each side. Where I live, I can just toss them into the trash like that, but it might be different where you live.
Best of luck, brother. :)

Jamil Info Compilation part 17: Kalim(pt6)
During Spectral Soiree Kalim is possessed by a ghost that slaps Jamil’s hand away and tells him to mind his station and to never touch an aristocrat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Silver tries to convince Kalim to return by reminding him that they are close friends, following with, “And I’m sure Jamil feels the same way,” but Jamil responds, “I, uh…suppose you’re not entirely off base.”
The best compliment that Jamil manages is “I’d take Kalim and his obliviousness over this pompous tyrant,” and the ghost leaves on its own in disgust at how lax the owner of the body it has possessed must be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jamil is often referring to Kalim as “a certain someone” or “you-know-who” when complaining about him, and it is through Jamil that we learn that Kalim may be a poor flier and poor at applying make up.
When Cater is shopping for souvenirs during Firelit Sky—debating between one hourglass for getting good grades and another for improved focus—Jamil silently thinks to himself that Kalim should not only get both, but that he would gift them to him himself.
Jamil tells Sebek that he is jealous of how Sebek is able to respect his housewarden.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Sebek asks if that is not the case for Jamil, Jamil refuses to comment and says, “We have been together since we were born, It is only natural that others would view us that way.”
When comparing Kalim to Riddle, Jamil says that Kalim is “TOO easy going,” telling Trey that they both have their work cut out for them.
When Trey comments on how different Kalim and Riddle are Jamil responds, “And yet they are alike in their ability to cause ceaseless stress.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jamil says that Beanfest was “trivial compared to looking after Kalim. At least harps don’t run off and pull idiotic stunts.”
There is a general rule that Kalim only eats food that Jamil has personally prepared for him due to the constant risk of someone trying to poison the heir to the Asim family. Vil questions his baggage in Book 5 and Jamil explains, “It’s a set of potions and medicinal herbs, so that I can formulate antidotes in the event of an emergency.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They get around this rule in a vignette where Kalim eats the lunches that Jamil had prepared for him the day before (both his own and Jamil’s), forcing them to eat at the school cafeteria. Jamil says there is no need to check for poison because the school offers a buffet.
Afterwards Kalim offers to eat in the cafeteria more often, but (after an awkward interaction with Leona) Jamil insists that he would prefer to make his lunches, so Kalim will need to control his late-night snacking.
We learn that Kalim refuses to eat curry after an incident where Jamil poison-tested some that was intended for him and fell ill, being “bedridden for days on end.” Kalim says that Jamil wasn’t bothered by it, and it he still loves it to this day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While it is never specified who poisoned Kalim’s curry, Jamil seems to suspect Kalim’s Asim relatives of “treacherous” schemes.
Despite how he has already been poisoned on Kalim’s behalf already Jamil still seems to be acting as Kalim’s poison tester, so "die instead of Kalim" might also be one of his responsibilities?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We see Kalim encourage Jamil to eat curry offered during the school’s Halloween party, but Jamil explains, “Your complete lack of vigilance is exactly why I can’t have time to myself.”
Jamil says that he is “quite familiar” with potions and poisons and that, thanks to his spending three years drilling the procedures into him, even Kalim can brew simple antidotes to perfection.
Kalim says he always carries stomach-soothing potion for emergencies that Jamil has brewed for him.
Jamil also seems to often carry motion sickness medication and has said that he researches toxins.

Zayne's lips slowly curved into a smile laced with what looked like sadness. "I want to be reminded why my heart got broken in the first place so that I might prevent it from happening if I ever love again."
"I can see where you're coming from, but prevention is only good until it transforms precautions into fear."
Zayne chuckled and Rafayel wanted to hear more of it. "You are not wrong. But that is where wisdom should come into play. The wisdom to know when to move forward and when to retreat."
Rafayel rested his elbow on the table and rested his cheek on the back of his hand. "In that case, woe to those who have none. Wisdom does not necessarily come with age nor is it naturally bestowed upon those who experience pain."
"I agree. But mankind is a race known for its foolishness. What are fools good for if they cannot muster hope in the face of despair? Of course, that is to say, that I, too, am one of them."
He smiled at the doctor. "I never would have taken you for an optimist. If there were glass-half-full and glass-half-empty types of people, I thought you'd be more like there-'s-water-in-the-glass kind."
"That is not a poor assessment and in fact, has credence. I see no harm in being a realist."
"Yeah, but you're like a step ahead. There's a realist and then there's you. If someone were to be dying and you were nearby, you'd say that the person is dying."
Zayne frowned a little. "That is where I disagree. As a medical professional, if an individual is having a medical emergency in the vicinity, I would assess the situation first and ask someone to call for an ambulance, and then proceed to perform emergency life-saving procedures. I would have no time to declare that said individual is dying."
Of course. Of course, Zayne would say that. Rafayel couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his lips. "Right. 'Do no harm', isn't it? My assessment is a little bit off. My bad."
"You seem to have a poor opinion of my character."
"I used to think that you were disagreeable."
Zayne raised an eyebrow as he looked at him impassively. Rafayel didn't need to guess what he was thinking. Probably something along the lines of "Well, weren't you a little shit too?"
He still was. At times. But he was not going to let Zayne have the satisfaction of hearing the admission from him. Not right now anyway. And to be fair to him, most instances of him being a pain in the ass were because of some external motivators that pushed him to be so.
"How about now?" Zayne asked, genuinely curious. "Do you maintain your opinion?"
Oh, he was a little shit, alright. Because at the face of Zayne's sincerity, he leaned on the table and flashed the doctor a playful smirk. "I can't say for sure yet. For me to make a proper assessment, I'm gonna have to spend more time with you. You don't mind do you?"
"Hm." Zayne shrugged, seemingly unaffected.
A bit embarrassed, Rafayel was ready to cover up the facetious statement with another one when Zayne added, "Suit yourself."
It wasn't a no and Rafayel, for a reason he couldn't explain, felt giddy, like a child promised an extra hour of playtime in the afternoon. He laughed softly. "Oh, I will. You may expect more of me in the future."

Pro-abortion activists fight for abortion throughout pregnancy for any reason—no exceptions. Their fundamental argument centers on women’s health.
But stunning research shows this concern is all smoke and mirrors.
Pro-abortion activists have long tried to claim that abortion is safer than childbirth. For years they’ve touted manipulated numbers, trying in vain to bolster this myth. We’ve always known those statistics were bogus, and a study by Dr. Priscilla Coleman and Dr. David Reardon reveals abortion is much more dangerous to women than giving birth. And the results are sadly even more devastating to women’s health than even I had anticipated.
First, let me vouch for the authors of this research. I know them both to be solid individuals with a reputation for thoroughness. I met Dr. Coleman in Santiago, Chile where we lectured at their largest university. We again shared an academic podium in Quito, Ecuador the following year.
Second, allow me to explain why this study is so important. It’s compelling because of its unmatched scope:
The study includes a large number of women—nearly one-half-million—experiencing first-time pregnancies.
The medical records are profoundly reliable because the data was compiled from Danish government sources including fertility records of births and stillbirths, the national abortion registry and cause of death registry.
The study covers an extensive ten-year time period, providing comprehensive long-term data.
It analyzes both early and late-term abortion compared to childbirth.
In other words, this isn’t a biased study with a relatively small sample size produced to cater to pro-abortion activists—or any side for that matter. This research was conducted at the national level, over the course of a decade, providing substantial credibility, a comprehensive level of detail, as well as earning publication in respected medical journals. The reliability has been substantiated, which is why the results are even more troubling.
When it comes to which is safer—abortion or childbirth—the results speak loudly and clearly:
During the first six months after an early abortion (12 weeks or less), a woman has double the risk of death compared to giving birth.
During the first year following a late abortion (after 12 weeks) a woman has over three times the risk of death compared to giving birth.
Here’s a link to the entire study if you’d like to read it.
Pro-abortion activists prey on the fear of Americans by perpetuating the myth that if Roe v. Wade is reversed, women will suffer horrific back-alley abortions and tragic deaths. The reality is that under legalized abortion, women are being killed on a much larger scale.
Remember when we heard the news that Planned Parenthood is responsible for 24-year-old Tonya Reaves’ death following a botched abortion. Reports showed that a devastating five-and-a-half hours passed between the time of her abortion and her transport to a local hospital.
There’s no record that a 911 call was placed by Planned Parenthood. The autopsy report indicated that her injuries were survivable if she had received proper emergency care in a timely manner. The only difference between her death and a back-alley abortion death is that Ms. Reaves’ abortion was sanctioned by the US Supreme Court, giving her a false sense of security that the procedure was safe.
Now Tonya’s one-year-old son will grow up without a mother. Sadly, there have been additional victims after Tonya’s death. And don’t forget the Gosnell “house of horrors.”
Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities continue to lure young women under the false premise that they perform “women’s healthcare services.” Abortion isn’t healthcare. It’s killing. In fact, they’re an industry of death—killing unborn babies and exposing their mothers to a staggering increased risk of death. Let’s not let this grave injustice continue. Share this with those you know and take a stand.
You now have compelling proof that abortion is not safer than childbirth

Here’s a bit of a challenge for you for your advent calendar! Sports au Conner plays a sport and meets Sarah in the emergency room.
Tumblr media
Hi anon! Thanks so much for the prompt! Hope you enjoy it! As a side note, I know I missed a day, but I really didn't feel good. So I'll make it up over the weekend.
Tumblr media
The hockey player had all of his teeth. Sarah noted as he grinned easily at her. Heat filled her cheeks as she continued her initial exam like Dr. Halstead told her to. But it wasn't a creepy grin like the sleazy guy who stood across the street smoking whatever in his pipe, (She didn't know what it was, but she knew it definitely wasn't legal.) liked to give her when she got home.
Instead, the hockey player's smile gave her butterflies. It was annoying because if her disaster of a relationship with Joey had shown her anything, she didn't have time to date right now.
"I'm Connor," his voice was rich and warm. Like drinking a hot chocolate on a cold Chicago night. When she glanced up at him, from where she was listening to his heart, his grin broadened. Then he added, "By the way."
Though more heat filled her cheeks, she shook her head at him with a little grin pulling at her lips. "Dr. Halstead should be right in."
"Am I making you uncomfortable?" Connor asked as he pulled away from her slightly. "I didn't mean to. I thought-"
"You're fine," Sarah assured him, chuckling, "But I'm a fourth-year medical student. Technically not a doctor until I graduate. My ED rotation is the last thing I have to do before that happens. So that means I'm not allowed to make any decisions or perform any medical procedures without a doctor supervising."
"So, Ms. Med Student my flirting isn't making you uncomfortable?" He questioned and the brunette shook her head softly. Just because she didn’t have time to date, didn’t mean it wasn’t nice to be wanted by someone.
“So if I was to ask you for your number?”
She was saved from answering his question by Dr. Halstead walking into the treatment room with a tablet. “Okay, Mr-”
Will glanced up and then stopped short, “Connor. How’re you doing? That knee still giving you trouble?”
The red-headed doctor explained to Reese, “Connor, here is a frequent flyer because of his knee. Think it might be time to retire buddy? Start on that second act?”
“I’m barely into my thirties and you’re making me sound ancient, Will. But with the season about to start the team trainer wants to make sure I’m clear to start.” Connor explained and Will turned back to Sarah.
“Connor plays right wringer for the Chicago Blackhawks.” He told her. After giving Dr. Halstead the initial results from her examination, she gave the other man another grin. “Glad my assumption about you being a hockey player was right.”
“I bet you’re right about a lot of things.”
Will raised his eyebrows at Connor’s words as he felt as if he were witnessing something he wasn’t supposed to. Especially when Reese turned beat red all over. The spell was broken when Dr. Choi called for the med student. With one last smile at Connor, the brunette was gone.
Will explained that they would need an X-ray of Connor’s knee before he could clear him. It’d be a minute but they’d be right in. In the meantime, he was going to go check on another patient. “Oh and Connor, I saw you flirting with our med student.”
“A gorgeous woman is a gorgeous woman.” The hockey player returned with a shrug.
“Yeah, well we’re pretty protective over her here. Hurt her and you’ll need to find another hospital.”

He named himself LotusFlower? And he was gifted not just a bra but a fancy one? When many actual women in jail don’t get enough menstrual care products which are a necessity?
A source within Washington’s only women’s prison has come forward to allege that the state’s only women’s prison “gifted” a Victoria’s Secret bra to a trans-identified male inmate following his taxpayer funded breast augmentation surgery.
In June of 2022, it was learned that transgender inmate Nonnie Marcella Lotusflower, born Nathan Goninan, was provided “gender affirming” breast implants by the state of Washington while serving a 10-year sentence for the brutal murder of a teen girl.
A whistleblower at the institution employed at the Washington Correctional Center for Women (WCCW) spoke to National Review and revealed Lotusflower had successfully undergone breast augmentation surgery while incarcerated.
Tumblr media
The officer stated that three members from the prison’s specialty emergency response team had taken Lotusflower to Spokane, Washington for an appointment prior to the surgery, and then to Gig Harbor to undergo the procedure.
“One of the members told me they drove hours for a ten-minute appointment. Then they had to take him again for his surgery and he recovered at Airway Heights Correction Center,” the whistleblower explained to National Review. Despite having the ‘top’ surgery, the anonymous officer did confirm Lotusflower is fully intact.
But one source working within the institution has now come forward to allege that the breast implant surgery was not all that was given to Lotusflower at the taxpayer’s expense.
“I can confirm Nonnie got [a] Victoria’s Secret bra,” the source said. “It happened after [he] got the top surgery.”
The source explained that Victoria’s Secret is not an approved vendor from which inmates can typically order garments, but that Lotusflower “got [the bra] as a present from the facility after going 6 hours back and forth twice to Spokane for the surgery.”
Despite the existence of the bra having been physically confirmed with an inmate working in WCCW’s property room as well as with another anonymous source at the Department of Corrections, the bra is not listed on Lotusflower’s personal property matrix. The source told Reduxx that it was “kept pretty quiet” due to the fact that Victoria’s Secret bras are not technically allowed in the facility.
“No one can bring in one of these bras, and they aren’t allowed to order them,” the source explained. “The women only have a very limited number of options from the approved vendors. No push-up, no padding, no wire. It’s very strict.”
He continued that some of the female inmates are aware of the existence of Lotusflower’s bra, and expressed frustration with what they perceive to be the preferential treatment of the trans-identified male inmates.
“The women are upset when they hear this, they can barely get anything. But the men can get all sorts of options for state-issued property clothing, plus gifts like highly desired Victoria’s Secret items, and get priority for advanced medical care. The men are treated far better than the women,” the source stated.
Reduxx reached out to the Washington Department of Corrections which confirmed that Victoria’s Secret bras were not allowed to be ordered into the facility, but did not address the allegation that Lotusflower was gifted the bra directly by the prison.
Lotusflower is currently serving a 10-year sentence for the brutal murder of 17-year-old Jessica Franklin.
Tumblr media
The violent criminal targeted Franklin just hours after being released from prison in 2007, strangling her to death. Her body was found beneath an underpass in Bellingham, Washington, and a forensic examination revealed signs she had been sexually assaulted. Lotusflower was convicted on second-degree manslaughter charges.
In 2009, while serving his sentence for Franklin’s death, Lotusflower was charged with attempting to break out of prison with another inmate.
While it is unclear when Lotusflower was transferred to a women’s prison, in 2017 he launched a lawsuit against the Washington State Department of Corrections citing discrimination on the basis of his ‘gender identity,’ and demanding access to ‘gender affirming’ surgeries. The ACLU entered the complaint in support of Lotusflower in 2018.
Lotusflower was previously listed on “Caged Ladies,” a dating website for female inmates.
Washington’s prison gender self-identification policies have been under fire since 2021 when a whistleblower came forward to reveal that 150 male inmates were being assessed for transfer to the female estate.
Since then, a number of violent male offenders have already been moved. Among them, notorious serial killer Donna Perry, who was convicted of murdering 3 women in a 4-month timeframe in 1990, but claims to have murdered many more.
Other male transfers include Brett David Sonia, who was convicted in 2005 and 2006 on dozens of charges related to the sexual exploitation of a young girl, and Jolene Charisma Starr, born Joel Thomas Nichols, who was convicted of two horrific sex attacks on young girls.
As previously revealed to Reduxx by an internal source at the prison, there are currently almost one dozen male inmates at the women’s facility. Of the 11 names provided for review, 9 were convicted of crimes against women or children.

How Cigna Saves Millions by Having Its Doctors Reject Claims Without Reading Them
by Patrick Rucker, Maya Miller and David Armstrong for ProPublica
March 25, 5 a.m. EDT
Internal documents and former company executives reveal how Cigna doctors reject patients’ claims without opening their files. “We literally click and submit,” one former company doctor said.
When a stubborn pain in Nick van Terheyden’s bones would not subside, his doctor had a hunch what was wrong.
Without enough vitamin D in the blood, the body will pull that vital nutrient from the bones. Left untreated, a vitamin D deficiency can lead to osteoporosis.
A blood test in the fall of 2021 confirmed the doctor’s diagnosis, and van Terheyden expected his company’s insurance plan, managed by Cigna, to cover the cost of the bloodwork. Instead, Cigna sent van Terheyden a letter explaining that it would not pay for the $350 test because it was not “medically necessary.”
The letter was signed by one of Cigna’s medical directors, a doctor employed by the company to review insurance claims.
Something about the denial letter did not sit well with van Terheyden, a 58-year-old Maryland resident. “This was a clinical decision being second-guessed by someone with no knowledge of me,” said van Terheyden, a physician himself and a specialist who had worked in emergency care in the United Kingdom.
The vague wording made van Terheyden suspect that Dr. Cheryl Dopke, the medical director who signed it, had not taken much care with his case.
Van Terheyden was right to be suspicious. His claim was just one of roughly 60,000 that Dopke denied in a single month last year, according to internal Cigna records reviewed by ProPublica and The Capitol Forum.
The rejection of van Terheyden’s claim was typical for Cigna, one of the country’s largest insurers. The company has built a system that allows its doctors to instantly reject a claim on medical grounds without opening the patient file, leaving people with unexpected bills, according to corporate documents and interviews with former Cigna officials. Over a period of two months last year, Cigna doctors denied over 300,000 requests for payments using this method, spending an average of 1.2 seconds on each case, the documents show. The company has reported it covers or administers health care plans for 18 million people.
Before health insurers reject claims for medical reasons, company doctors must review them, according to insurance laws and regulations in many states. Medical directors are expected to examine patient records, review coverage policies and use their expertise to decide whether to approve or deny claims, regulators said. This process helps avoid unfair denials.
But the Cigna review system that blocked van Terheyden’s claim bypasses those steps. Medical directors do not see any patient records or put their medical judgment to use, said former company employees familiar with the system. Instead, a computer does the work. A Cigna algorithm flags mismatches between diagnoses and what the company considers acceptable tests and procedures for those ailments. Company doctors then sign off on the denials in batches, according to interviews with former employees who spoke on condition of anonymity.
“We literally click and submit,” one former Cigna doctor said. “It takes all of 10 seconds to do 50 at a time.”
Not all claims are processed through this review system. For those that are, it is unclear how many are approved and how many are funneled to doctors for automatic denial.
Insurance experts questioned Cigna’s review system.
Patients expect insurers to treat them fairly and meaningfully review each claim, said Dave Jones, California’s former insurance commissioner. Under California regulations, insurers must consider patient claims using a “thorough, fair and objective investigation.”
“It’s hard to imagine that spending only seconds to review medical records complies with the California law,” said Jones. “At a minimum, I believe it warrants an investigation.”
Within Cigna, some executives questioned whether rendering such speedy denials satisfied the law, according to one former executive who spoke on condition of anonymity because he still works with insurers.
“We thought it might fall into a legal gray zone,” said the former Cigna official, who helped conceive the program. “We sent the idea to legal, and they sent it back saying it was OK.”
Cigna adopted its review system more than a decade ago, but insurance executives say similar systems have existed in various forms throughout the industry.
In a written response, Cigna said the reporting by ProPublica and The Capitol Forum was “biased and incomplete.”
Cigna said its review system was created to “accelerate payment of claims for certain routine screenings,” Cigna wrote. “This allows us to automatically approve claims when they are submitted with correct diagnosis codes.”
When asked if its review process, known as PXDX, lets Cigna doctors reject claims without examining them, the company said that description was “incorrect.” It repeatedly declined to answer further questions or provide additional details. (ProPublica employees’ health insurance is provided by Cigna.)
Former Cigna doctors confirmed that the review system was used to quickly reject claims. An internal corporate spreadsheet, viewed by the news organizations, lists names of Cigna’s medical directors and the number of cases each handled in a column headlined “PxDx.” The former doctors said the figures represent total denials. Cigna did not respond to detailed questions about the numbers.
Cigna's explanation that its review system was designed to approve claims didn’t make sense to one former company executive. “They were paying all these claims before. Then they weren’t,” said Ron Howrigon, who now runs a company that helps private doctors in disputes with insurance companies. “You’re talking about a system built to deny claims.”
Cigna emphasized that its system does not prevent a patient from receiving care — it only decides when the insurer won’t pay. “Reviews occur after the service has been provided to the patient and does not result in any denials of care,” the statement said.
"Our company is committed to improving health outcomes, driving value for our clients and customers, and supporting our team of highly-skilled Medical Directors,” the company said.
PXDX
Cigna’s review system was developed more than a decade ago by a former pediatrician.
After leaving his practice, Dr. Alan Muney spent the next several decades advising insurers and private equity firms on how to wring savings out of health plans.
In 2010, Muney was managing health insurance for companies owned by Blackstone, the private equity firm, when Cigna tapped him to help spot savings in its operation, he said.
Insurers have wide authority to reject claims for care, but processing those denials can cost a few hundred dollars each, former executives said. Typically, claims are entered into the insurance system, screened by a nurse and reviewed by a medical director.
For lower-dollar claims, it was cheaper for Cigna to simply pay the bill, Muney said.
“They don’t want to spend money to review a whole bunch of stuff that costs more to review than it does to just pay for it,” Muney said.
Muney and his team had solved the problem once before. At UnitedHealthcare, where Muney was an executive, he said his group built a similar system to let its doctors quickly deny claims in bulk.
In response to questions, UnitedHealthcare said it uses technology that allows it to make “fast, efficient and streamlined coverage decisions based on members benefit plans and clinical criteria in compliance with state and federal laws.” The company did not directly address whether it uses a system similar to Cigna.
At Cigna, Muney and his team created a list of tests and procedures approved for use with certain illnesses. The system would automatically turn down payment for a treatment that didn’t match one of the conditions on the list. Denials were then sent to medical directors, who would reject these claims with no review of the patient file.
Cigna eventually designated the list “PXDX” — corporate shorthand for procedure-to-diagnosis. The list saved money in two ways. It allowed Cigna to begin turning down claims that it had once paid. And it made it cheaper to turn down claims, because the company’s doctors never had to open a file or conduct any in-depth review. They simply denied the claims in bulk with an electronic signature.
“The PXDX stuff is not reviewed by a doc or nurse or anything like that,” Muney said.
The review system was designed to prevent claims for care that Cigna considered unneeded or even harmful to the patient, Muney said. The policy simply allowed Cigna to cheaply identify claims that it had a right to deny.
Muney said that it would be an “administrative hassle” to require company doctors to manually review each claim rejection. And it would mean hiring many more medical directors.
“That adds administrative expense to medicine,” he said. “It’s not efficient.”
But two former Cigna doctors, who did not want to be identified by name for fear of breaking confidentiality agreements with Cigna, said the system was unfair to patients. They said the claims automatically routed for denial lacked such basic information as race and gender.
“It was very frustrating,” one doctor said.
Some state regulators questioned Cigna’s PXDX system.
In Maryland, where van Terheyden lives, state insurance officials said the PXDX system as described by a reporter raises “some red flags.”
The state’s law regulating group health plans purchased by employers requires that insurance company doctors be objective and flexible when they sit down to evaluate each case.
If Cigna medical directors are “truly rubber-stamping the output of the matching software without any additional review, it would be difficult for the medical director to comply with these requirements,” the Maryland Insurance Administration wrote in response to questions.
Medicare and Medicaid have a system that automatically prevents improper payment of claims that are wrongly coded. It does not reject payment on medical grounds.
Within the world of private insurance, Muney is certain that the PXDX formula has boosted the corporate bottom line. “It has undoubtedly saved billions of dollars,” he said.
Insurers benefit from the savings, but everyone stands to gain when health care costs are lowered and unneeded care is denied, he said.
Speedy Reviews
Cigna carefully tracks how many patient claims its medical directors handle each month. Twelve times a year, medical directors receive a scorecard in the form of a spreadsheet that shows just how fast they have cleared PXDX cases.
Dopke, the doctor who turned down van Terheyden, rejected 121,000 claims in the first two months of 2022, according to the scorecard.
Dr. Richard Capek, another Cigna medical director, handled more than 80,000 instant denials in the same time span, the spreadsheet showed.
Dr. Paul Rossi has been a medical director at Cigna for over 30 years. Early last year, the physician denied more than 63,000 PXDX claims in two months.
Rossi, Dopke and Capek did not respond to attempts to contact them.
Howrigon, the former Cigna executive, said that although he was not involved in developing PXDX, he can understand the economics behind it.
“Put yourself in the shoes of the insurer,” Howrigon said. “Why not just deny them all and see which ones come back on appeal? From a cost perspective, it makes sense.”
Cigna knows that many patients will pay such bills rather than deal with the hassle of appealing a rejection, according to Howrigon and other former employees of the company. The PXDX list is focused on tests and treatments that typically cost a few hundred dollars each, said former Cigna employees.
“Insurers are very good at knowing when they can deny a claim and patients will grumble but still write a check,” Howrigon said.
Muney and other former Cigna executives emphasized that the PXDX system does leave room for the patient and their doctor to appeal a medical director’s decision to deny a claim.
But Cigna does not expect many appeals. In one corporate document, Cigna estimated that only 5% of people would appeal a denial resulting from a PXDX review.
“A Negative Customer Experience”
In 2014, Cigna considered adding a new procedure to the PXDX list to be flagged for automatic denials.
Autonomic nervous system testing can help tell if an ailing patient is suffering from nerve damage caused by diabetes or a variety of autoimmune diseases. It’s not a very involved procedure — taking about an hour — and it costs a few hundred dollars per test.
The test is versatile and noninvasive, requiring no needles. The patient goes through a handful of checks of heart rate, sweat response, equilibrium and other basic body functions.
At the time, Cigna was paying for every claim for the nerve test without bothering to look at the patient file, according to a corporate presentation. Cigna officials were weighing the cost and benefits of adding the procedure to the list. “What is happening now?” the presentation asked. “Pay for all conditions without review.”
By adding the nerve test to the PXDX list, Cigna officials estimated, the insurer would turn down more than 17,800 claims a year that it had once covered. It would pay for the test for certain conditions, but deny payment for others.
These denials would “create a negative customer experience” and a “potential for increased out of pocket costs," the company presentation acknowledged.
But they would save roughly $2.4 million a year in medical costs, the presentation said.
Cigna added the test to the list.
“It’s Not Good Medicine”
By the time van Terheyden received his first denial notice from Cigna early last year, he had some answers about his diagnosis. The blood test that Cigna had deemed “not medically necessary” had confirmed a vitamin D deficiency. His doctor had been right, and recommended supplements to boost van Terheyden’s vitamin level.
Still, van Terheyden kept pushing his appeal with Cigna in a process that grew more baffling. First, a different Cigna doctor reviewed the case and stood by the original denial. The blood test was unnecessary, Cigna insisted, because van Terheyden had never before been found to lack sufficient vitamin D.
“Records did not show you had a previously documented Vitamin D deficiency,” stated a denial letter issued by Cigna in April. How was van Terheyden supposed to document a vitamin D deficiency without a test? The letter was signed by a Cigna medical director named Barry Brenner.
Brenner did not respond to requests for comment.
Then, as allowed by his plan, van Terheyden took Cigna’s rejection to an external review by an independent reviewer.
In late June — seven months after the blood test — an outside doctor not working for Cigna reviewed van Terheyden’s medical record and determined the test was justified.
The blood test in question “confirms the diagnosis of Vit-D deficiency,” read the report from MCMC, a company that provides independent medical reviews. Cigna eventually paid van Terheyden’s bill. “This patient is at risk of bone fracture without proper supplementations,” MCMC’s reviewer wrote. “Testing was medically necessary and appropriate.”
Van Terheyden had known nothing about the vagaries of the PXDX denial system before he received the $350 bill. But he did sense that very few patients pushed as hard as he had done in his appeals.
As a physician, van Terheyden said, he’s dumbfounded by the company’s policies.
“It’s not good medicine. It’s not caring for patients. You end up asking yourself: Why would they do this if their ultimate goal is to care for the patient?” he said.
“Intellectually, I can understand it. As a physician, I can’t. To me, it feels wrong.”

AITA for gouging out my new friend's eye?
Okay. I know that's a lot. Bear with me here.
I (42 M) am not a doctor, but I read a lot of medical textbooks. I'm actually a poet by trade, truthfully, but I have a decent understanding of medicine and anatomy. So, when my good friend E (29? M) came to me about a medical emergency he's having, I of course offered my advice.
After examining him, I determined that he required emergency surgery on his right eye. He has a deadly infection in his brain, localized behind this eye. Unfortunately, we're not exactly in a position to get him to a hospital, and if left untreated, he would almost surely die within days. I could see him beginning to despair, but he thanked me and told me would just have to bear it.
My heart ached to see my friend accept his own impending demise so freely, so I told him I would perform the surgery. E seemed doubtful, but I told him it was the least I could do! He's done a lot for me, and I think it's fair that I help him in return. Eventually, he agreed to let me hell him.
So, we set up for the surgery. I didn't have any anesthesia on me, but I got him drunk enough that he would be, hopefully, numb. Then I got to work.
Here's where things went wrong.
I will spare you the more grisly details, but the surgery went rather poorly. I was unable to remove the source of the infection, but I did remove his eye. And though he was drunk, he evidently felt the entire procedure, and he was understandably quite upset. His lover W was also rather upset with me and demanded to know why I hurt him.
I tried to explain that I was just trying to help, but neither of them was interested in hearing me out. W demanded that I leave at once, and so I did. Before I left, I apologized to E, but he didn't seem to hear me, as he was still crying and holding his eye. I also left him an old marble to use as a prosthetic, should he so choose.
I haven't heard from either E or W since, but I cannot help but wonder... AITA?? Was I wrong to help?
