I want to write a Christmas fluff one-shot with Danny introducing the YJ cartoon version of M'gann and Conner to some Christmas traditions because M'gann asked him nicely, and this boy is weak to pretty girls asking him nicely (or not) to do stuff. However, he would draw a line on Santa. Sorry, not sorry. I'm just not sure how he would do it, so help me decide.

Option two means that Santa is like this goat that gets burned.

Also, I kinda struggle as a Catholic-raised European because I have no idea what my traditions are also things he would introduce. Like, do you American atheists have Christmas Eve big dinner? If yes, then you probably don't have 'no meat' rule cause it's Catholic tradition and in historically more protestant countries it's not a thing but then what do you eat? When do you exchange presents? Do you wait for the first star to begin celebrations?

There are some of my traditions I can rule out, but still, I struggle.

So, my dear American or at least more knowledgeable reader, what's YOUR favourite Christmas tradition that Danny could introduce his alien friends to?

The absolute relief of finishing my 11 week writing project the night before its due.

Sure it's a terrible first draft and I had to cut the story down alot from what I had originally envisioned. And it's kinda inconsistent and missing a couple scenes, but it's done so that all that matters.

That being said, I think I'm ready to start polishing the chapters and posting Voice Crack sometime in the next month. I am moving states soon though, so that may be subject to change.

Bartholomew Allen had lived a rough life. He has few memories of before the Blue Beetle Overreach, and has uprooted his own life, the little life of a soldier he'd carved out for himself, to save Earth and all of humanity. He knew how the past went, to a certain extent. He knew of the people he'd left behind. The good soldiers and family to him. He was grateful for the life he lived now, the mission he was on, but it was difficult. His hands shook and his body creaked and groaned. Vibrations seemed in tune with his very bones. His steps fell silent tonight, as he walked through the dimmed halls of mount Justice.

He jerked a bit, reacting to sounds he heard in the main room, where he'd been heading to the kitchens. Bart stops, slipping to stand against the wall, straining his ears to listen. It was talking, he could tell. "We'll introduce you in the morning when we debrief the team for their missions. Don't cause any problems before that." That was Batman. Talking to -what sounded like- a new recruit. Bart tried to wrack his brain for any heroes or sidekicks or someone that would join the Team.

"Got it, Batty!" Bart stills entirely, his heart dropping to his feet. He forgets to breathe, the voice so clear and familiar to him. He is thrown into the future, the young man they'd pulled from one of the Reach's camps. The young man was already considered one of the dead, Bart had started lifting him off of the cot to bring him to their dead. The boy's head would rock, his eyes slowly opening. Bart would only think about how he could finally see the color blue as something else than Blue Beetle.

Danny was the only person Bart had ever met his own age. They did everything together. Bart talked Danny through the apocalypse, as he had come from space before it had happened. He would hold the other boy as he would cry, grief not unknown to Bart Allen. Danny would become one of their greatest soldiers, as few as there were. Bart would hold him the longest when leaving. He would hold him tightly, trying to ingrain every bit of him to memory. Danny would hold him back just as close and tell him that they would see each other soon. He would think of him the most, now, in the past, laying awake at night.

Bart could practically see Danny now, the cheeky look on his face as he mock-salutes Batman. He fights against everything inside of himself to peek around the corner, his heart thundering inside of his chest. He's crying, he thinks, absently, as he stares at the shadow of Gotham's Knight. There's a slight glow around Batman, not coming quite from him, but from something in front. Someone in front of him. Hope is blooming inside his chest, and Batman shifts.

Not once has Bart ever felt something compared to seeing his love floating there, here, with him, in the past. The present. Whatever.

He cannot move. He doesn't move as Batman slinks to the Zeta tubes, only the draping form of his cape and cowl visible to Bart. He doesn't move as Danny's eyes- a shade of green incomparable to anything else Bart had ever seen.

"Bart?" Danny's voice is no longer cheeky. His face has softened, a hopeful but nervous smile wavering. Bart's chest seizes as he fumbles out from around the hallway corner. He is fumbling towards Danny, superspeed and elegance. Silence and years of militant training forgotten. He falls into Danny's arms, a feeling he thought he would never experience again. He holds him close, the cold the other boy radiates, enveloping Bart like a familiar blanket that feels so dear of home. Danny was home to Bart, safe and familiar.

Bart doesn't know how long they stay there. He does not care, he only cares that they are together. Danny lowered to the floor as some point, resting on his knees, Bart hugging him at the waist, laying in his lap. Danny simply holds Bart like this, running his hand through his hair.

As a general fandom tag we are using dpxdc, WITH NO SPACES.

Why no spaces? Tumblr is so glitchy it’s baffling a very functional website. Because of this we’ve received reports that sometimes if a post is tagged "dp x dc" or “dp/dc” then, even when the tag is blocked, the posts will still show up in the individual "dp" and "dc" tags. That isn’t cool.

Why is it important to tag separately?

dpxdc is a big crossover. The crossover fandom has been rapidly growing over the past year. The crossover fandom drowns out the original dp/danny phantom fandom by a lot, especially for people who may be interested in dpxdc but also want to enjoy regular phandom content. By not using the dp and danny phantom tags, it helps a lot to not drown out the main fandom's inhabitants and content. dpxdc as a fandom tends to pump out a lot of content (which is amazing), but that means that we need to be careful to not suffocate the main fandoms. "Why can't I tag the danny phantom or batfam main fandoms? it's a crossover" -- yeah, it is a crossover, but it's a crossover that is huge (especially in comparison to danny phantom) and dpxdc has taken over the main fandom tags. It's causing a lot of animosity and tension on both sides.

Additionally, the crossover (like most fandoms) comes with some common characterizations, tropes, aus, and concepts that tend to be interpretations that do not link back to the main fandom well. While fandoms come up with their own characterizations, tropes, aus, and concepts, it's important to know when a crossover fandom has existed long enough to establish its own sets of common themes that the main fandom may want nothing to do with.

This doesn’t mean you have to pick between dpxdc and its parent fandoms, like Danny Phantom or DC or Batfam. Indeed, by NOT tagging dpxdc with its parent fandoms, you are ensuring that people who want a space for dpxdc and a space for its parent fandoms can have both! We don’t have to pick sides! But in order to have both, we need to tag dpxdc content with a tag we can search (that is, dpxdc), AND we need to make sure we’re NOT tagging the parent fandoms (such as, danny phantom).

What if I don't want to see dpxdc content?

Here {link} is an in depth guide on how to block tags and filter certain content from appearing on your dash. We also ask that you please keep any venting out of the dpxdc.

I'll Make You Believe

While the whole "asking a ghost how they died is the worst taboo ever, so don't do it or you'll be in a world of hurt" headcanon is always fun to implement to either create temporary conflict or simply move the story along, I think it'd work just as well on both ends if it was only a minor offense.

Like if you were to ask a once living ecto being how they died the most negative response you'd get would either be some variation of "None of your business puny mortal" or an explanation using the most vividly graphic, stomach turning details as an act of petty revenge as well as insurance you never ask again.

So what could possibly be a way more serious, far more dangerous no-no when it comes to ghosts instead? Well, how about stating ghosts don't exist/there's no such things as ghosts? The reason why being you're invalidating the trauma they've experienced in their last moments.

Makes no difference whether you were aware of this or not. If they find out or worse, it's said to their face? You better hope they'll settle for beating you black-and-blue. Because the alternative is becoming a ghost yourself by the time they're done with you.

Now in dpxyj fics when Danny interacts with Wally and the whole "ghost are/aren't real" argument between them comes into play it's usually depicted as a trivial disagreement. But what if you were to make it more angsty by inserting this take on lack of ghostly etiquette?

Let's say after getting to know his teammates better Danny starts talking about his origins (in vague detail) and exploits, only to eventually be interrupted by Kid Flash declaring that he can't possibly be a ghost as they don't exist. And Robin, Aqualad, Miss Martian, and Superboy all become quite alarmed watching Danny go from easygoing to looking ready to beat Kid Flash to a pulp, as he's now fighting back his ghostly nature. To avoid giving in to the urge he abruptly leaves with a dismissive attitude, much to KF's confusion.

From there it spirals. KF, not realizing he's poking a hornets nest continuing to voice his skepticism whenever the opportunity comes up and each time Danny barely manages to keep it together. Until one day Danny in an explosive rage snatches up KF and in a tone colder than ice tells him he knows what he is, what he went through to reach that state, and that he has no need to justify any of it to him.

Then he leaves once more before he really loses it. Before going after him Miss Martian informs KF of how Danny opened his mind to her and that for his sake she hopes he never shares those memories of what he went through with him. Feeling bad now, KF tries to apologize once Danny returns. Which results in failure again and again since Danny keeps giving him the cold shoulder.

After having yet another apology disregarded KF, in mounting frustration blurts out that he wishes he understood what has Danny so convinced he's a ghost, unaware a certain wish twisting genie he was warned about had been invisibly lurking in the vicinity the instant Danny was elsewhere. Along with the rest of the regulars, as soon as KF's denials had spread to the Ghost Zone Desiree was on the warpath, intent on showing just how real ghosts truly were. By sheer spite and determination she beat everyone else to him, just in time to hear him say the forbidden word, presenting her with the perfect means of retribution.

With a "So you have wished it so shall it be" KF is magically transported to an underwater submarine, occupied by Black Manta. Unable to run as freely without potentially damaging the sub and causing it to flood, the fight upon his unexpected arrival is drawn out to the point KF starts to feel his hyper metabolism weakening him. It's when he's close to dying of starvation that one of the more incompetent goons sends him crashing into the stash of ectoplasm Manta had smuggled with the intent of using it to pollute the waters of Aquaman's Kingdom. The last thing KF sees before blacking out is Desiree looming over him with a smirk of satisfaction.

AU where danny’s parents finding out he’s  ghost dosnt go too well and he ends up running away and ends up joining the young justice team or just a general crossover between dc and the young justice

*phantom planet isn’t canon at least not until later

*danny probably gets adopted by bruce

*there is also the route of them not hurting him but telling him to leave, maybe the GIW convinces them to work with them and haunt him later on or they help save him from the GIW but he decides to stay with the team since they are his family now and the fentons still hurt him and did hunt him like the GIW

*if we go the reveal dosnt go well route then danny probably wont be very trusting especially with the heroes since they work with the government and the anti ecto acts exist, he’ll probably meet them ad help them the disappear after

>danny runs away with his bags and after flying for a long while lands on a random roof cuz he’s drained and tired, he just collapses and wakes up some hours later (its night) he flys again and looks for abandoned buildings till he finds a place, he takes his essentials out then phases the bags into the roof so they’re hidden and finally it sets in and he breaks down for a while till the fenton-phone he has rings and he gets surprised then answers and immedietly sam and tuckers swarm him with questions if he’s okay and what happened so he tells them and now that you mention it he has a wound from before that he’s yet to treat, he’s been so emotionally and mentally drained he forgot about it, they ask him and he says he honestly dosnt know he just flew as fast as he could and tucker says its probably for the best if he dosnt say just in case the call is spied on and sam tells him to take care of his wound and to rest and to check back with them and danny agrees and they tell him they’ll update him on how things go with his parents and amity and with that the call ends with cyas and take cares, after the call ends danny just sighs and gets up to grab a bag from the seilling and takes his medical supplies and starts to take care of his wound then decides to sleep

>danny meets the young justice while they are on a mission fighting near a warehouse with a part of it having collapsed from a explosion which is what caught danny’s attention while he was flying around to clear his head even tho he’s supposed to be resting since he’s still healing, he floats there watching while invisible for a little bit before seeing one of the team members in a very tight spot and he freezes the goons which surprises everyone then he goes on to freeze some more goons, the team is confused and the goons are confused so they start shooting frantically and randomly yelling for whoever it is to show themselves and danny gets hit with one of their attacks which surprises him and knocks him out of invisibility for a bit (maybe a energy or electricity based gun), he quickly goes back into invisibility saying “that was uncalled for” and he freezes them then says “cya” to the team before flying away while someone from the team calls for him to wait

What if they decided he’s a threat or worse handed him over to the GIW and they notice his nervousness, for a while he’s a honorary member and is hesitant about joining the team but after a bit he opens up abit and tells them about the ghosts, anti ecto laws and the hunters and ofc batman hears about this and begins investigating and talks to danny about them to get more details (the team and JL think danny Is a full ghost at this point)

>danny gets captured by the GIW (his parents either help capture him or help save him, maybe by giving the GIW location or info to the team or just busting the place with the help of jazz and sam and tucker, tucker would probably hack the JL\ team computer to give them the info) danny getting saved by his team shows him that they genuinely care about him and he accepts them as his new family, after recovering he’s abit nervous but he tells the team about the fact that he’s half human too and his parents, they tell him they understand and that they cant wait to meet him other half

>the JL come to check on danny and how he’s doing and to give him an update on how things are going with taking the acts down, they’ve arranged a conference which superman will be taking care of and they want danny to be there to represent the ghosts and answer at least some questions to at least shut some mouths and satisfy some minds which danny reluctantly agrees to go to, he lets superman talk before joining him on stage and talking aswell, after its done superman puts his hand on his shoulder and tells him he did well which calms danny’s nerves abit >in the end the acts get taken down, danny joins the team and smiles sadly at the place he’s bee crashing him throughout all of this before taking his bags and flying to his new home. Then maybe a special with the phantom team meeting the YJ team or at least them visiting danny since its been a while and also danny chewing out superma cuz of how he treats conner at the start and the team meets dani :D (that is a very important part idc >:D 2 in 1 gremlin backage baby)

note : idk if i'll expand on this but i really hope i do xD maybe even draw a comic of it myself if my self confidence dosnt get in the way or at the very least turn it into a fanfiction.

💭 What is a headcanon you have about your own work?

My headcanons are often fairly bland so have three to satisfy your hunger:

One that has made it into Deathly Weapons: Danny preferentially writes in cursive (Chapter 14).

One that has not yet appeared but is planned to: The ghosts of Pandora's Necropolis have a distant connection to Themyscera.

One that appeared in an early draft but alas was not to be: In certain corners of the internet, a hacker going under the handle fryertuck is quite renowned. No-one knows they're a teenager.

🧠 What’s an idea you have that you can’t quite call a WIP yet?

I've talked about a few here (and am happy to talk more about them) but as we are in the mood to indulge, let's go a few more:

Another DPxYJ Brother AU where the Fenton's find out Danny's secret but instead interpret it as Phantom having murdered their son and taken his place. When Dick comes looking, their information sets Robin on the hunt for the "ghost imposter who killed his brother" armed with the very worst of their anti-ectoplasmic rhetoric.

Yet another DPxYJ siblings thing, this time running on the concept of "what if Danielle was about Dick's biological age and the whole team met her before anybody knew Dick had an older brother". No real plot for this one, just intrigue vibes and confusion over a ghost-fighting parkour-proficient stranger who looks weirdly like a female clone of Robin.

Surprise curveball with a My Hero Academia concept from back when I was deeper in that fandom. I liked the idea of a quirkless Izuku picking up on how busted their hero system is and deciding to take the support path to try and reform things from within, bumping into his canon Class 1A counterparts along the way. Also featuring a fight scene concept where Deku manages to one-up Bakugo in a spar using his analytical skills to identify that (based on the implicit quirks-are-biology rules of early canon) Bakugo's elbows and shoulders should be vulnerable points due to the repeated jarring from using his quirk. In which Deku is allowed to get a little mad at the injustice of the system, as a treat.

Young Justice: Deathly Weapons by @threewaysdivided


I’ve always liked storyboarding some of my favorite scenes from fanfictions I enjoy; there’s just something about the expressiveness and movement seen in storyboards that I feel really helps convey the emotion of the characters. And let me tell you, this story has

a lot

of that (how dare you make me feel this strongly for these idiotic boys 😂)


For the first board, I drew a scene from Ch02 (I had to include an action-filled scene haha). I took some liberties with Spectra’s character design and gave her a really wide mouth, since she’s always feeding and feeding from other people’s pain and never satisfied. 
The next board is more in anticipation for the future interactions between Danny, Wally, and Robin; I for one am looking forward to seeing what mess these three will get themselves into 😈


Seriously guys, go read this fic: the pacing and characterization are fantastic, and the amount of consideration and research that the author puts into the plot and character development is amazing. Plus, if you like theorizing and finding “clues” that hint towards the plot, this fic has plenty of breadcrumbs that will leave you hooked. Also, make sure you have tissues on hand.

I’m a sucker for Ghost King!AU cause my boi deserve the recognation for beating the shit out of Pariah at least aksjdnaks.. BUT also the beauty of AU means you can do whatever you want~ There’s so many Ghost King fanarts out there and they all so cool and valid??

And I love when fanfic writers desribes their versions they all sounds so good?? and i wanna draw them~ or at least attempt to qwq also fic recs coz these are cool and yall need to read them okay

Phantom Meets the Team by Hikato-chan, DPxYJ crossover. One shot drabbles where Danny is ghost king and deal with ghost.. related stuff in YJ, and also is Robin’s older brother. The one i draw is from the Death Day anniversary chapter

Lethean and Mortified by @five-rivers ; Lethean is a one shot where Danny and co went through Lethe river of underworld and lost their memories prior to that. Mortified is a super long ghost zone field trip story basically with a whole lot of world building and ghost politics in them. It’s super fun but also like 230ish chapter so far?

All Hail Conquering Hero by @nab-bi-time ; the what if Danny was forced to be the king and it end up with him being a conquering king. Really cool plot and also if you’re in the mood of danny too tired of being nice and just wanna go apeshit (and he did)~

Got any good DP Crossover fics? Ideally with Young Justice or Gravity Falls but I’m not picky

DP is one fandom that I see crossed over all the time, I think I’ve seen it crossed with every major cartoon media and some real life stuff too. I personally have never been a huge fan of crossovers in any fandom as sometimes the two medias and their worldbuilding don’t quite mesh well. That said, there’s some incredible fics out there. I myself have a rather sizable amount of DPxTT (the og 2003 one) in my FF bookmarks but thats really all I have. 

If anyone has some reccs, we’d both be interested! I myself have been trying to find some good DPxYJ/Batman/DCU fics

DPxYJ Recognized Fic - Diagrams and Notes from Chapters 14-18

Hey, peeps, I thought some of y’all would enjoy a peek into the pages and pages of notes, timelines, diagrams, thoughts, and general research which I put into my fic. I’ve already thrown out 30+ pages (not including the pinned note in my iPhone’s Notes app where I quickly typed out ideas or lines of dialogue as they came to me. The infamous “Tweet tweet, mofo” originated here).

[SPOILER WARNING IF YOU HAVEN’T YET READ RECOGNIZED! Read it now on AO3 or Fanfiction before continuing. And don’t worry; a passing glance as you scroll past the images won’t spoil too much; it’s only if you start reading the text. 😁]

These are nothing compared to the wonderful doodles and fan arts which have been made by some of my readers like 13thcat here on Tumblr (check out @13thcat​‘s blog for other fantastic art), Weshney on AO3 (MAJOR spoiler at this link), and Alien of Pluto on Fanfiction. But, they are how I approach blocking the action of my stories, especially as a former architecture student who thinks better in 3D with construction documents and photographs for reference lol.

First, here’s a breakdown of the two neighboring London Banking District skyscrapers which featured in the climactic battle, 22 Bishopsgate and Leadenhall:

And second, this is a more detailed perspective doodle of Bishopsgate’s construction progress in March of 2018 when the story takes place. This particular photo is from August, so it’s more advanced in its progress; here’s the progress in February 2018, so you can average the two out and get an idea of how much it had progressed by the end of March. (In these images you can also see the tower in relation to Leadenhall - the “cheese grater” - next door.)

For some reason Tumblr won’t let me load a 3rd image, but basically it was a minute-by-minute breakdown starting at 8:00pm Thursday evening when everyone is preparing to converge upon London, taking into account the time difference and length of a typical transatlantic flight which would place the team and Maddie on the ground Friday morning London time. It then goes through the morning, into the afternoon and then evening into Paris. I also googled what time sunset was in Paris on that day so I could time Dick and Danny’s arrival appropriately.

So yeah, there’s a small glimpse into the mind of a perfectionistic fanfic writer who loves grounding his works with real-world locations and parameters to make the stories that much more imaginable/realistic for the readers’ imaginations. I hope you enjoyed this and also the story itself. :)
