Miguel telling Miles he’s going to hell anytime he gets pissed off enough (breaking into his apartment, getting involved in fights for no reason, starting trouble with Gabriel) but Miles keeps track and eventually shows up with a long paper list that rolls all through the living area & it has all the reasons he’s going to hell on it and he graded it based on creativity, so it’s very obvious neither of them are serious about that sort of thing. Now imagine one time Miles is super tired so when Miguel says “you’re going to burn in hell for putting stickers on me btw” Miles just takes it seriously for a few moments, which gave Miguel 10 new gray hairs with each second that passed. He’s already hollering like an injured dog on the inside and is begging any higher being listening to him to protect Miles’s mind from his poison, to let Miles go through the rest of his life free of him and anyone like him, is telling Lyla to mark him as dead, praying that he either doesn’t get a next life at all and is punished for his sins or if he is to be reincarnated he’d be a perfect guard dog that’ll want for nothing but will do everything, and is running away as I type this. Got so terrified of something that didn’t even happen he became religious for a second. Idk i just really want him to be so. I want him to react in a way that lets you know he’s mentally unwell <3

#i dont think ill ever love anybody quite the same way that i love Ken #because he came into my life during a time when i was like. dying. not in a haha millennial way. i was genuinely fucking dying. #he is so. special. to me. he is so... everything to me and i truly mean it every time that i say it #i miss and love him so deeply so WHOLEHEARTEDLY *EVERY* single day #and i didn't used to be able to do that anymore! but he!! no what do you mean im not even thinking about a closeted demi/gay eddie growing up in texas, never really sure of himself until shannon came along and became a friend to him and he understood that as love because what else could it be. im not thinking about shannon telling eddie she's pregnant and eddie deciding he needs to provide for them, for their family, and the only way he could do that at that age was to enlist, and then maybe he wouldn't have to face himself and his feelings either. im not thinking about eddie seeing christopher for the first time and knowing he'll love him forever, only to look at shannon and feel the chasm inside him continue to grow, telling him to run away, back to the army. he still has to provide. im not thinking about eddie coming back to deal with shannon gone from his and chris' life and his own parents trying to take away the one good thing left in his life. im not thinking about eddie moving to la, for a better life for him and chris, and finding some semblance of it at the 118. im not thinking about eddie losing shannon and dealing with the guilt of it all but coming out on the other side with fond memories of her. im not thinking about eddie finding people that love him and support him unconditionally. im not thinking about him potentially finding someone he actually loves and that someone loving him and chris and being like a missing puzzle piece that completes the family, being someone shannon would have approved of. im not thinking about eddie trying to deal with his trauma and be better, not for anyone else but for himself, and having this person next to him throughout. im not thinking about eddie diaz.

Downloaded hoopla just to reread Howl's Moving Castle because now I'm thinking about Sophie being trapped in these expectations of her destiny and subconsciously cursing herself so that she can live freely as something other than the oldest daughter.

Howl's Moving Castle is such an interesting exploration of a world where fairytale tropes are seen as laws of nature and the ways that the people of that world fight against the boxes they're forced into.

#sophie and her sisters are sooooo interesting #and it breaks my heart that this part of her characterization was completely left out of the movie #because so much of her personality and so many of her choices make so much sense in the context #of knowing that as the eldest sister she's destined to live a completely average and unremarkable life #and that any attempts at seeking out something better will lead to her failing miserably and suffering for it #and she is SO TRAPPED BY THIS #she is so set in the belief that she will never be anything over than average that she doesn't even know that she has magic! #and being cursed to be an old woman is something she embraces because it lets her break out of that box #sophie the eccentric old lady has so much more freedom than sophie the eldest of three daughters #and it's her sisters resisting their own fates #(the second will be beautiful and successful and happy and the third will be powerful and intelligent and change the world) #(and only the third is allowed to seek anything more than what she's given) #that makes sophie start to wonder whether her fate is really set in stone #howl's moving castle

Red souls are destined for greatness. It's something that has been drilled into his head since as far as Soma can remember, and this hearsay has only been cemented by the color test that sealed his fate, by the endless praise that rained down on him after the glow of his sword had turned a bright shade of crimson, and then once again, and again, and again, by the heavy responsibilities that had subsequently been placed 'pon his shoulders as one of the strong ones.

Red souls are destined to bring our long sought peace. They are the second rarest of the five and the sole color capable of breaking the oni's horns, of obliterating their existence from the once pure, holy lands of Hi no Moto. The red soul is the first to lead the charge, the only one to stand at the top of the chain and the single person in the link who cannot be replaced (these teachings still ring in Soma's ears as though his fourteenth birthday had just happened a few days ago rather than over a decade ago).

Red souls are special. It's what he's always been led to believe, the reason behind his pride as a child, and in hindsight Soma supposes it's still true, to an extent. It's the red soul that cannot be replaced, and so it's the red soul that must continue to persevere, to persistently push forward even after watching his companions' lifeless bodies hit the ground and a dreadful despondency surface on his remaining ones' visages (he isn't allowed to grieve, unlike them, not when he is the sole pillar standing between his people and total annihilation).

It's the red soul who will always be found at the top, and so it's the red soul who will never fail to glance back at his compatriots from his mighty spot, only to realize the insurmountable distance between he and those supporting him (he isn't like the rest, and this fact bleeds into his every move). The red soul is strong, and he is there to fight, and fight, and fight, and to never falter, never show an ounce of vulnerability lest the masses follow suit and the structure crumbles. The red soul is destined for greatness, and in his greatness he is destined to be alone, and to die alone.

A familiar voice brings him out of his thoughts as he silently agrees with the alleged jab, and perhaps he should be surprised that Naotora has found his way into the conversation, taking Soma's the red souls' side in spite of everything, but he isn't. It's a kind effort, and he can understand everyone's fondness for the blue soul as well as appreciate his attempt at cheering him up, but at the end of the day, what does he know? Naotora's point is supposedly finished seconds thereafter, as he turns towards Soma with that same smile on his face, and although he's inquiring about his opinion on the matter through a flippant "right?", Soma doesn't reply, merely staring into golden eyes for a second longer before turning away and leaving the scene.
