BIOGRAPHY.

one of the first hosts made after the original batch was destroyed, wyatt has been in rotation for two decades or more.

born to a pioneer family who took advantage of the longhorn cattle left behind after the louisiana purchase, wyatt was the oldest of five and was taught from the start that family, community, and hard work were everything which has stuck with him his entire life

when he was old enough, he joined the union army and fought against the confederacy. when the war ended, he became a sheriff in sweetwater - helping to clean up crime that had plagued the town at the time

he did such a good job, they named/elected him to be mayor and he's held the role ever since.

wyatt was a young man, tired from the war and weary from the losses he experienced during it all. he sought out affection to cure his loneliness and quickly fell in love with a beautiful woman.

not long after they married, their first child was on the way and he fell in love all over again when his daughter ginny was born. he swore to never let anything hurt her.

his wife left not long after ginny was born for reasons to be determined. he was heartbroken, but he had ginny to think about and a town to run so that is what he focused on.

later he ended up further heartbroken when he discovered his wife had joined the very outlaws wyatt worked so hard to protect the city from

in order to protect ginny from the seeing the mother who abandoned them both and keep her safe from criminals coming to hurt their town - he tries to send her away from town or hide her inside whenever the outlaws come through or things heat up

all he wants in life is to keep his family and the town safe, happy, and prosperous.

“REVIEW: Star Wars: Thrawn Ascendancy – Chaos Rising…”

Well, I’m glad I’m not the only one who reads Thrawn’Alani in the Ascendency series. Not to mention, that quote at the end of ‘Thrawn:Treason’, where he tells Ar’Alani his actions ‘may be commanded by the Emperor, but his heart belongs elsewhere…’ (paraphrased). I don’t think you have to squint very hard to read Thrawn’s OTP here (okay, in my AU crossiver between the Keltiad/and FireFly-Serenity, Rhyanon becomes the frenemies lover of Thrawn, and Luke, after a very convoluted history. Ar’Alani develops a thing for Jayne, or rather, indulges Jayne’s infatuation with her initially, b/c she’s found Jayne ‘as Brawn over Thrawn’ a little less complicating and infuriating than navigating Thrawn’s suppressed emotion-beneath-extreme-cerebralism…)…

…Also, Derrial Book/Shep—I SWEAR—is JorgCar’das—right down to the damn monastery retirement…before he’s killed…

“There’s a beautiful love triangle in between the lines of Chaos Ascending; Thrawn and Ar’alani clearly have a deep affection for each other born from their shared experiences and mutual respect; they become so close that Ar’alani invites him, a  Mitth merit-adoptive from an obscure family, to her ancestral home. Thrawn is her constant companion at work and in pleasure, and all of their off-work interactions read like dates: an art gallery on a rainy day, a visit to an exotic planet, a boozy celebration, and a sneaky trip to the capital where someone off-handedly mentions that the Chiss need to have more children.

On the other hand, Thalias infatuation is just as powerful, but her interactions with Thrawn mirror one of his deepest –if not his deepest – family traumas. In the hands of any other author, this incredibly unbalanced relationship would have become a parody of itself – particularly as it plays on well-known fanfic tropes as “fake captive” and “trapped together in a closet for hours” but instead we get growth, depth and subtle complexity. Thalias might not be an action amazon or an incredible military genius, but she’s pure heart and one of the best additions to the Star Wars universe.”

From his dinosaurs that inevitably betray him appearing on the bridge right where he left him to Zoe’s terribly soul-crushing dream to the birth of his lovely daughter Emma, Wash’s memory is alive and well on Serenity and I appreciate it very much.Īnother greatly appreciated aspect of this book is the many callbacks to the show. Sure, this isn’t how we wanted to see Wash again, but it was worth all the emotions that came with it. Just as predicted, his presence was felt throughout the book. He was my favorite character on the show, as he was a favorite of many others as well, and with a book called ‘Leaves on the Wind’, it would be hard to imagine that Wash wouldn’t pop up. One thing I was worried about though was the idea of Wash showing up. Writer Zack Whedon didn’t miss a beat in bringing his brother’s characters back to life.

This issue managed to touch on loose ends from the movie and the last episode of the show and it did so quite masterfully. It’s every bit as delightful, heartbreaking, funny, and intriguing as the show that we know and love. The first thing that I have to say is that this is the continuation that every ‘ Firefly’ fan has been waiting for. But the Alliance is about to send our a familiar face to bring them all in that has experience in tracking Serenity when the vessel and her crew want to lay low. Simon Tam, his sister/new pilot River Tam, mechanic Kaylee Frye, decommissioned companion Inara Serra, and pregnant first mate Zoë Washburne. After a bloody last stand that left beloved crewmembers Shepherd Derrial Book and Hoban “Wash” Washburne in graves, the crew of Serenity has dwindled even further as Jayne Cobb has opted to go home, leaving Mal with only Dr. However, Mal wants none of this at the moment and is lying as low as possible. The only thing that they both agree on is that Mal Reynolds needs to be found and held accountable for his actions, whether it be face Alliance punishment or be the face of a whole new legion of Browncoats. In fact, they’re so at odds that a new resistance has risen to oppose the Alliance. In the first issue of this brand new series, we learn that people of the verse are extremely divided on the issue of Miranda, the birthplace of the Reavers and the resting place of thirty million innocent people. Well now, thanks to Dark Horse Comics, we have a direct sequel to the adventures of Captain Malcolm Reynolds and his crew after they shared with the entire verse the news of how the Reavers were created by a failed Alliance experiment called ‘Serenity: Leaves on the Wind’. Luckily, we were lucky enough to get the major motion picture ‘Serenity’ and a few comic book tie-ins here and there, but we’ve never actually gotten a legitimate continuation of the story after the movie. Since the cancellation of ‘Firefly’ over ten years ago, fans have been clamoring for more tales from Joss Whedon’s cult classic space western.

Ronald Earle Glass (July 10, 1945 – November 25, 2016) was an actor. He was known for his roles as literary Det. Ron Harris in Barney Miller, and as the spiritual Shepherd Derrial Book in the science-fiction series Firefly and its sequel film Serenity. After graduating from St. Francis Seminary, he attended the University of Evansville, where he received a BA, double majoring in Drama and Literature. The university awarded him its Medal of Honor. He said he knew while he was in college that he wanted to act. With a teacher's encouragement, he performed in a play and went on to an acting career. He appeared in dozens of television series, including sitcoms such as Family Matters and the series Teen Angel, where he played God's cousin Rod. He had a guest appearance in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Nightingale". He provided the voice of Randy Carmichael for the Nickelodeon series All Grown Up! and Rugrats, and the character Garth in the video game Fable II.
