Mod Apology For The Lack Of Advertising!

I mentioned this on the Discord server, but I broke my glasses last night and can't get the laptop font big enough to see the pages I gather info from tags on. I was lucky in that I was able to order two pairs right away, but I'm stuck on my phone for the moment since I need wifi for my laptop (I'm currently homeless and in a shelter with no wifi except what I can get via mobile hotspots) and glasses to see the sucker, and I don't have either at the moment. I may be able to do a few ads tomorrow from banners that have been emailed to the mod account, but advertising will commence fully again around April 24th or whenever I can pick up the first pair that's arriving.

I'm gonna say it.

It's unhinged to assume that someone's taste in fiction equates to what they believe is moral or good, or is something they want to see or experience in real life.

That is a bonkers assumption to make.

I'm tired of humoring people with long arguments about it when the simple fact is it is a totally fucking absurd reach to accuse someone who enjoys something in fiction of being in favor of it in real life.

I'm tired of pretending like this is a legitimate position to hold-- that they should be afraid of fiction's dire influence on a reader's moral decay or that it's a sign of what the author secretly wants for realsies in real life.

Hi I know you did answer these questions already technically but I just want to make sure it is okay D:. I was thinking joining your wip big bang and I have story in ao3 that has at least 5 chapters which i will be re-write as i don't like them. Would that still be okay to join or should i do 500 drabble of future chapter of that story and give that to you but still just re-write the other chapters. sorry for rambling ^^"

You can just start rewriting the chapters and then add to it. We work on the honor system so as long as you don't post the rewritten chapters until August/September (depending on the length of the fic when it's done), you'll be fine.

i think it's great when someone tries to pull off a tragic self-sacrifice in a story and there's at least one guy who's just like "no this is fucking stupid actually. you're an idiot." about it. because it kind of is. i love a good tragedy but let's be honest with ourselves if a friend tried to indulge a noble sacrifice fantasy would you not be a little annoyed. like come on man.

anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful
