Weddings make lovers
Mala Grohs x reader
Tumblr media
Magdas and Pernilles weeding was a thing the whole Bayern team was looking forward to.
The were getting married on a Saturday after the last game of the season.
Everyone helped to make this day perfect.
They offered to let other guest stay at their apartments, helped to decorate the location, picking out the cake and food and helping each other to choose outfits.
The ceremony was beautiful and besides the familys, Tuva was the one to cry, and every five minutes someone else had to hand her a tissue.
After the ceremony and the dinner, the big party started.
Jovi had offered to be the DJ and she really did a great job.
At first she played the song, Magda and Pernille had picked out for their first dance and then more songs you could dance to.
During that, Caro and Georgia took over the bar and tried to give everyone there own cocktail creations, while also being a little bit tipsy already.
Linda was the one to take pictures of everything and everyone.
Syd and Klara where joking and fooling around, making everyone laugh and encouraged everyone to dance.
And I was somewhere in the middle of all of that.
I was already a little bit tipsy, thanks to Caro's newest creation: The Amortentia Potion, inspired by Harry Potter. And maybe that was also the reason why I walked towards Mala as I saw her on standing the side of the dancefloor.
"Mala." I say and smile at her.
I don't know who helped her pick out her outfit, but it was incredible hot.
A blue suit, with a read tie and black shoes.
"Y/N."
"Come dance with me." I say and grab her hand, it's warm and fits perfectly into mine.
"What happened to the shy and calm Y/N?" Mala asks laughing as she starts to dance along with me.
"Maybe this is the true and dark me?" I answer and place her hand on my shoulder.
"You have a dark side?"
"Dark and dusty, hidden deep inside me."
"I am impressed."
We dance for some more and I really enjoy the feeling of her hands on my shoulder.
I like her, more than I should.
More than she likes me.
"Y/N! Sorry Mala but G and I need her." I hear Caro's voice next to me and turn around.
She points over to the bar, where Georgia is standing together with Magda, Linda Sembrant and Zecira Musovic.
"Zecira brought some drink called Akvavit, and you absolutely have to try it." Caro explains and I nod.
"Sorry Mala." I say and let myself get dragged away by Caro.
"This is literally so good!" Georgia says and hands me a shot glass.
The cold liquid burns in my throat but it's also really good.
"Oh my gosh this is really good." I say making them laugh.
"Told ya." Georgia answers, pouring me another shot glass of it and drinking one her own.
"Better be careful." Magda warns, Pernille appearing behind her.
"Careful with what?" she asks, sliding one arm around her wife.
"They are trying Akvavit." Zecira explains, pointing at the bottle.
"Uh yeah you should defiantly be careful, that stuff is really strong." Pernille warns while Georgia and I drink our third glass of that stuff.
"Nah we can handle that, we are big girls." Georgia says and wraps one arm around me.
Caro serves us a round of drinks and Pernille and Magda leave to talk to some people.
The party keeps going till it's late at night, around midnight most of the people started to leave and now there are only some friends, some team members and the brides left.
"I need to go to the restroom." I say to Caro who is still standing behind the bar with Georgia, singing along to a German party song, Jovi finally decided to play.
"Der Zug hat keine bremse." she sings in reply and I cant help but laugh.
The floor on the way there is really uneven and as I come back I see someone coming towards me.
"You're good?" I hear Mala asking, fuck is she hot.
"This floor isn't built right." I say instead of answering her question.
"Uhm?"
"You know what a friend of mine is a carpenter I think he knows how to fix this." I say and pull my phone out of my pocket.
"Y/N, it is 1am I don't think he will like it if you call him now."
I put my phone back into my pocket and look at her.
"I think you should go home and sleep till you're sober." Mala says "I can drive you home."
"You are so smart." I step closer, how can someone actually be so smart? I mean she is studying....something. I know she is studying something you have to be very smart for. But right now I cant remember its name.
"There is so much knowledge inside your beautiful head." I say, pressing one finger against her forehead.
"And your skin is so soft." I feel the need to touch her cheek.
"Yeah you defiantly are druck, come on let's get you home." she says laughing and wraps one arm around me, trying to get me to walk towards the exit.
"Wait." I say and grab her by her jacket, pulling her against me.
Her warmth surrounds me and I feel like I could pass out just from that feeling.
"Mala."
"Yes?" her voice is so soft, like she is an angel.
"I really want to kiss you." I say, looking at her lips for some seconds before I look up into her eyes.
"That's because you're drunk." she says but not letting go of me.
"No! I mean yes...I say that because I am drunk but I want to kiss you even when I am sober."
"You-"
"I am in love with you, Mala."
A small smile curls up on her lips and she softly grabs my chin.
"If you really mean that, then say it again when you are sober." she says, stepping back.
"But don't play with my feelings Y/N."
I slowly nod, suddenly feeling really tiered.
"Let's get you home." she says and I follow her down the hall, we say goodbye to Magda and Pernille and some other people and I see Magda whispering something to Mala while looking at me but I cant hear what they are saying.
Mala drives me home and waits outside until I am inside my apartment.
---
We have two final training sessions before everyone is going on their summer vacations and as usual I am one of the last ones to be there.
Malas place in the locker room is directly opposite to mine and normally we talk a little while getting chanced and she helps me doing my hair.
But today is different.
Yesterday morning I woke up with my head feeling like it had doubled in size but unfortunately I could remember everything that had happened.
And I feel like she also did.
The training is good but it feels different without Mala talking to me and making jokes all the time.
At the final training it is the same and I definitely know that I don't want to go into summer brake like that.
I try to be the last one to go into the locker room but she is already waiting outside as I get there.
"We should talk." she says and I nod.
"Yeah."
I follow her around the corner so we won't get interrupted by any of the other players.
"I don't know how much you remember of the party night but-"
"I remember everything." I interrupt her, leaning against the wall.
"And I am sorry for telling you that but..." I look at the floor, I could just deny it, deny my feelings, deny the fact that I didn't say all of that because I was drunk.
"I...I cant tell you that it was because of the alcohol, because .... because it is true. Everything I said." I say and look up.
I am surprised by the way she looks back at me, not mad or hurt but with a small smile on her lips. Her beautiful lips.
She steps closer.
"What is true?" she asks.
"That I am in love with you and that I want to kiss you."
"And what did I say after you told me that?"
"To tell you that again when I am sober?" I ask, confused about her reaction.
"No after that."
"To not play with your feelings." I repeat her words, realizing that I completely forgot about that till now.
"Because I cant have you telling me, that you like me back and not meaning it." she explains, taking another step towards me, my body now trapped between her and the wall.
"You...you like me too?" I ask, but scared of what she would say I look down at our shoes.
"How could I not like you." she whispers in the space between us. And like she did at the weeding, she grabs my chin and softly pushes it up.
She leans forwards, searching in my eyes for the permission to do it.
I close my eyes, waiting for her lips to meet mine. And they do.
Her lips feel so soft against mine. She tastes a little like Powerade, lip balm and her.
I can't believe I am kissing her.
As we brake apart, a big smile forms on my lips.
I open my mouth to say something but someone else is faster than me.
"Wow."
We look to the side and I feel one of Malas arms around me like she wants to protect me from anything that could happen now.
At the end of the hallway, there are standing Magda and Pernille, both ready to go home.
"Soon enough." Magda says, coming towards us, followed by her wife.
I just look at them, to stunned to speak.
"Magda." Pernille says in a warning tone.
"What?" She says laughing "You also knew about this."
"You...what?" I ask.
"I told them about my feelings." Mala says and looks at me. So that was what they were talking about at the weeding.
"Well, weddings make lovers." Magda says and smiles at us like a proud mom.

Random Notes on Jet Lag: The Game Hide 🇨🇭 Seek episode 1
Spoilers. Sorry, I thought it was out for the non-paying public already and only realised after I posted.
Jet Lag is fun. It's not really more than that, but it doesn't want or need to be.
I was on a backpack train journey through Switzerland in September and this brings back so many memories. Like Lucerne-Andermatt-Göschenen? We did that journey, just in the other direction. I want to go back.
The line between Andermatt and Göschenen, the Schöllenenbahn, is severely underrated. You don't get a lot of views on that ten minute ride since it's mostly in tunnels, but the views you get into that deep gorge are amazing. Gorgeous, even.
Switzerland should really build a line from Andermatt to Airolo. Yes, I know what you're thinking, it's completely pointless, you can already get from Andermatt very quickly to Airolo by changing trains in Göschenen, there is no need for more Gotthard crossings, there are already two tunnels on the line. But to that I say: One and a half tunnels right now. Redundancy is great, and more rail lines is even better.
Alternatively or in addition, they should build the Grimseltunnel, because I think the lack of it is really going to hurt Ben for the next episode.
My guess for where Ben is hiding in episode 2: Vitznau. It's right by Lake Lucerne, it is on the railway network, but it is connected to the railway network in the weirdest way possible.
I haven't checked whether he could actually reach Vitznau, don't @ me. I guess it depends on whether ships are allowed (the rule, according to the podcast, is that the hiding spot must be on the rail network and get at least one train an hour, but they haven't clarified whether hiders and/or seekers have to use a train to get there)
But his options are severely limited. Going either east or west isn't great, he would basically stay in the same mountain valley until his time runs out. Could he even reach Brig? South could work, but he'd run out of country very quickly, so back north seems like the most likely option. Also, you know, lake.
I am not committed to Vitznau, but I am committed to either Lake Lucerne or Lake Zug, and probably in a ten kilometre radius around Arth. That hits a few smaller lakes as well, but I don't think it's either of them, and Zürichsee is right out.

What are some head cannons for Tugs and your Five Nights at Freddy's au?
I hope I'm not bothering you
You’re fine; Well here we go again!
Let’s start with TUGS:
I have mentioned in the past that the Tugs all knew the Titanic, well I don’t believe I mentioned that on the anniversary of her accident; They don’t do their work and Pay tribute.
In the show; They ended with Bigg Freeze (If going in a particular order), That was the last time any of the tugs were in Bigg City Port due to financial problems. (Before being sent to Sodor in the AU)
OJ has been protecting Zebedee from Johnny Cuba for years because OJ knew about Johnny’s Abusive Behavior.
Zak has a real habit of messing with people’s hair. Styling it; Playing with it, It doesn’t matter. He loves messing with it.
Don’t mess with OJ if you are a thief. That boy will Usain Bolt after ya and Tackle ya to the ground HARD! Even with his age; The Muthafucka DEADLY!
I have stated before that Ten Cents was adopted by Hercules after his mom’s death. Ten Cents has learned to cope with this by knowing that his family has always been there for him.
Zorran may show that he’s a big man and doesn’t care about his team; Deep down, He does care and it’s always slipping out.
Zip and Zug has Autism and it’s very far into the Sectrum. The first person to find out about it is Zorran (Who feels Hella guilty and becomes their papa)
Zak is VERY FLEXIBLE!! So flexible that he can do the girl from the Ring so well it scares Ten Cents and Sunshine.
Big Mickey almost had to explain himself to OJ and the others on what happened to him after the Munitions accident but he didn’t have to.
Now time for Five Nights at Freddy’s! Get ready; This is gonna be intense.
Toy Freddy has Welding/A Physical Scar on his Chest in the shape of an “X” due to a incident that almost left him decommissioned.
The Glamrocks have met the original Fnaf gang as well as the toys and the Sister location gang.
Withered Freddy is a Depressed Bear who only wants to be on stage again, The toys thankfully give him that chance at night.
Original Freddy is very oblivious to Toy Freddy having a crush on him (Because TF saw Freddy liking someone else and didn’t wanna embarrass himself)
Chica; Toy Chica; Nightmare Chica and Glamrock Chica are all great cooks! As well as Sisters; Including Withered Chica.
Springtrap and Toy Freddy have been a couple for a few years until the two talked because Springtrap loved Ballora (William Afton and his Wife kinda shipping idk)
Golden Freddy has been angry at Springtrap for years (Evan mad at William)
There is only other one Afton family member that is alive; Yeah, it’s not just Michael. It’s their son Bec (Bec belongs to my wife @lovedevildice4ever ; Thought it would be nice if I mentioned Bec.)
Glamrock Freddy is in a Poly relationship with Monty and Glamrock Bonnie (Who got fixed up thanks to Gregory and Bec).
Gregory knows a lot of things about Robots and about the Pizzeria because of the newspapers and because of looking at broken robotic machines.
Gregory views Glamrock Freddy as his father and he views Monty and Glam Bon as Papas.
Sundrop and Moondrop get their own separate bodies thanks to Gregory.
When Gregory chose to Stay in the Pizza plex; He was able to save Glamrock Freddy in time by getting the other Glamrock animatronics to come help.
In Fnaf 3; Bec was not happy when he realized he had to deal with his dad who was Springtrap.
There is one animatronic that Bec hates and that would be Funtime Freddy. BonBon is cool to Bec; Not Funtime Freddy.
Little Fun Fact for ya if you all haven’t noticed by now (Though some of you have but Idc I’m gonna say) But my Sona is literally Toy Freddy but Light Blue and having my kind of Hair.

Z Stack polycule? Explain more please
Tumblr media
Oh my God welcome to my BRAIN ROT get ready for a ride, I'm writing this in terms of my human au but its translates to what i think about cannon too, the meat of this is going under a read more but
TL;DR: All of the Z stacks have a complicated relationship with each other and while they would take a bullet for anyone else their relationships vary wildly from deep unbreakable bonds to literally would rather see the person get shot [also implied physical content but nothing in detail beyond "it exists"]
Also I'm not including Captain Zero or Zaffre here. Zero is pretty much removed from this and his relationship with all his tugs is very complex but even at its worst I see him as a mostly parental figure towards his tugs. And Zaffre is lesbian af and I've talked about her feelings towards the others before [tho not as in depth]
ZORRAN <--> ZEBEDEE
Zorran and Zebedee have a very close and complicated relationship, even if Zorran can be pissy and annoyed with Zeb [ie, calling him a creep, picking on him for being sensitive] they have a 'warriors bond' from years of dealing with Zero [the 'bad' years], the law, and the rapidly changing harbour. Zorran understand that Zebedee is a complicated guy with a very soft heart as much as Zebedee knows Zorran is an unwavering leader with a strict moral compass and a compassion for those around him, they admire that about each other.
There relationship isn't based in physical attraction but it can go in that direction when they are bored and looking.
ZORRAN <--> ZAK
They have an incredibly close relationship, they just get each other on a deep level. They confide in one another and will always be open and honest when in need. Zorran loves Zak's brash way of moving around the world and Zak loves Zorran's drive for success and perfection. They have romantic interest in each other but don't act on it, Zorran knows Zak won't be the settled down man he wants, Zak knows Zorran wouldn't be able to keep up with his dangerous lifestyle. But that also doesn't stop them from being intimate or living in the moment.
ZORRAN <--> ZUG
Zorran and Zug get along well and work together well, but Zorran isn't so interested in spending time with someone who reminds him of a snivelling worm and Zug, while intimidated by Zorran, doesn't think Zorran is all that interesting. But they will still play cards and share a drink after work, or help each other out. Zorran takes care of his men, and Zug is loyal to those he respects. They CAN get on each other's nerves easily, and Zug's work ethic and lack of spine can irritate Zorran quickly, but there are never hard feelings.
ZORRAN <--> ZIP
Zorran doesn't often show it, but he likes Zip even if he doesn't always get results from him. Zip, like Zug, is very intimidated by Zorran but he does look up to him and wants to make him proud. The two work well together when it's one on one, Zorran has high standards but he can see that Zip is young yet, he may be an airhead forever but he's got room to learn and needs guidance. Zip understands that Zorran is doing his best to try and take care of everyone, and doesn't hold any hard feelings when Zorran gets irritable. Zip has a lot more emotional intelligence than others in the fleet, which makes him valuable to Zorran as an ally even if it's not conventional. Zip's innocence and kindness, even if not traditional Z stack behavior, isn't something Zorran would ever want him to change.
I really like that in the show Zorran has very quiet moments when on screen where he talks more casually or quippy and off cuff. In those moments he can sound very similar to Zip which makes me think he might see himself in Zip. It's just a nice thought.
ZEBEDEE <--> ZAK
These two can bicker with the best of them but at the end of the day they've been around each other for years and have grown almost as close to each other as they individually have with Zorran. Zak can get annoyed with Zebedee and pick on him because of Zeb's inner feelings and 'softness', but wouldn't want the other to change. Similarly Zeb can get frustrated with Zaks tuff guy's brash attitude and strong headedness but can't stay mad for long. They'll never turn down spending time together and they definitely can get handsy and intimate whenever. It's just casual fun to them.
ZEBEDEE <--> ZUG
Zebedee doesn't have many strong opinions about Zug, but Zug likes to talk big game about Zebedee and how the other needs to be less of a softie. However Zug has the backbone of an eau clair and Zebedee really doesn't put any merit into what Zig says. They don't make any effort to make friends with each other but also won't actively avoid each other. Mutual amicable nods and existence is the usual with these two.
ZEBEDEE <--> ZIP
ZAK <--> ZUG
These two get along on a cosmic level. They are cut from the same cloth and share a lot of the same world views. Zebedee is very repressed in how he feels nowadays, but he admires how Zip moves around his world with a smile. And Zip doesn't feel as intimidated or afraid to be himself around Zebedee. They don't inherently try and spend time together but they very rarely fight or annoy each other, and always have a great time when they do get together. They are also just fond of each other in more intimate ideals, however Zeb doesn't really think Zip is mature enough for anything yet and Zip is well aware that he is having strong feelings because any and all feelings are new to him, maybe in a few more years.
ZAK <--> ZIP
Like Zip and Zeb, these two are cut from the same cloth. They just get each other. They've been fast friends from day one and bicker and joke and play around with ease. Often times when one of them is out doing something stupid the other is right behind or actively on the scene. They don't really have a strong romantic interest in each other, but they will do anything for the other and have a strong intimate relationship. There have been times they've talked about setting down with each other from their high stakes stupidity, but it'll be at least another decade or two before they stop causing problems and decide to calm down and start something serious. And one of them will probably be dead before that happens.
Zip is utterly afraid of Zak. He tries to be nice to Zak and just be friendly but Zak makes him deeply uncomfortable. Zak cannot stand how Zip acts and relentlessly picks on Zip. Give them a few more years and Zip will probably stop caring and that'll finally be when Zak starts to respect him but for now Zak would gladly push Zip off a bridge and Zip would let Zak get stabbed in a bar fight because he didn't want to bother Zak. Nothing between these two is ever just amicable.
ZUG <--> ZIP
These two bring out the worst in each other and they both love it. Zip DANM well knows that Zug has horrible ideas because of ego and drags him along. Zug DANM well knows that Zip is too friendly and naive to not fuck up basic tasks. That does not stop these two from rolling with the punches and causing problems on purpose or 'yes and'ing each other until disaster strikes. They are the best of pals most of the time, and their bickering is mostly in good fun. They don't have any real further attractions to each other beyond being good friends, they find nothing about each other appealing besides pretty normal friend things. These two are happiest when they are going with the flow and bouncing off each other, anything more formal and it falls apart for them. When Zip gets a little more sure of himself their dynamic may change but for now they are just Bros.

So I was wondering, you think you version of captain zero has a secrete soft side?
I’ve read before that he’s a criminal and it’s basically cannon that the zed stacks are gangsters. But.. deep down do you think he cares? A rare soft side ?
Do you think any other zed stacks have a soft side? Secret or obvious?
Oh, most definitely~! While there is bias and has favourites, there is also a soft spot in Zero's heart
he's a man of short patience but a real lad for his fleet when needed. Relationships usually start being sorta transactional (if I'm good to them, they'll be good to me) but with time, real bonds are made....... with different strengths of course, if a sacrifice is needed, Zug will be the first to go sorry not sorry lolol
And about a soft side on the Zs in general, that'd be Zip. Zip is one silly little idiot and brings the best out of all of them and anyone he meets. Evokes this desire to protect him and teach him stuff, and that's what they do; it's like the wholesomest corruption arc you'll ever see!
But Zip is not as innocent as he may seem..... is not that he has a "dark side" per se, but if he's with the Z-Stacks it's for a reason, he is a lil bit fucked in the head too yknow? he has a body count (in both senses of the word), can hold his liquor, cusses and pretty much has been stealing for his entire life. Out of necessity of course, but even when he has money, he almost never uses it xd
He may be a bit silly and unaware, got to where he is now by a bit of chance, but I think he fits just right in. And you'll be happy to hear that I started working on the lil comic that explores his life~ (for the time being, is just a one-shot of when he first met the z-stacks but it'll sure have more chapters and such :3)

Week 7 Mousillon Morningstars vs Ravenwood Long-Pigs
A question of class
In a crucial clash for the Long-Pigs, with a position in the play-offs at stake, von Bismarck, Rache, Blitzen and the rest of the team hosted the Mousillon Mornigstars with experienced coach Sturmjarl. The home team were clear favourites with Goblin Gambling and a convincing run of form. To level the playing field, the home team were dismayed to see the Mighty Zug warming up on the sideline although the ever-fickle fans seemed excited at the increased likelihood of serious injuries or deaths.
The visitors won the toss and elected to kick off and set up carefully with a responsive deep defence anchored by the noble bodyguards, stacking the centre of their backfield but leaving both wings open. The Long-Pigs set up aggressively then sent two receivers down field, behind the noble phalanx while Brando and the Blitzers flattened the front line and engaged the phalanx to the right. The nobles responded pressing all the receivers and knocking down Gaspedal. Even Beck, sitting back after his hitch pattern was in close contact with a blitzer with no-one free to spring him. On the far side, Tomas Hawken was in single coverage and a smart blitz from Ivan Shultz set him loose. A quick pass from Rache and Hawken was free to score. 1:0
Long-Pigs captain, Kurgan von Bismarck spent so long tweaking the positioning the players ahead of the kick-off, he almost got a player sent off for having 12 men on the field. The nobility were much more organised, setting up for control of the line of scrimmage, leaving space only wide at the wings and looking to maximise their mobility as they left Zug on the bench. The human front line was pushed back with only Shultz losing his footing, although the visitors crowded round him to put the boot in, although the ref saw nothing, the crowd whooped their appreciation. Gaspedal and Hawken, swept round the open wings to threaten the lone ball carrier who had fielded the kick and was alone in the midfield, waiting for an open blitzer or a cage to form.
The nobility consolidated their control of the centre, taking advantage of Brando's apparent confusion, but instead of stepping up behind the wall of bodies, thrower Jorge de Santos, barrelled into Hawken standing him up for Smiling Joe to smash him down, before another brutal gang foul led by Chase of Norsca saw him leave the field. This time, the referee was paying attention and despite the coaches protestations, Chase was given the red card. The home team jockeyed for position but usually reliable von Bismarck was beaten by his opposite number, handing the initiative back the Morningstars. Without hesitation and behind some solid blocking, the visitors moved into the Long-Pigs half, forming a tight cage by the sideline with the thrower at the front, who smuggled the ball back being him to Smiling Joe.
The home team scrambled back, with Shultz clattering Jebediah Bush to the crowds delight as his knee snapped backwards. Pip Chancer gave his marker a shiny surprise with a blade he had smuggled onto the field since the last drive. Brando knocked out Matthew of Goetz and Gaspedal moved in on the cage, forcing them to deal with him and threatening to wriggle in to the ball carrier. Ever optimistic for a turnover, Beck ran up-field to an unmarked scoring position.
The nobility pushed forward, breaking the cage into a screening line downfield to separate the ball carrier from the most dangerous defenders and taking out Zwerg-Jaegar in the process. The Long-Pigs, looking for another quick score, tried to utilise the fling-toss, but Brando misunderstood the audible and stood scratching his head, so with a sigh, Rache stepped up to clout Smiling Joe so hard he was knocked out, the ball bobbling free. Ever focussed on the ball, Johan Blitzen, demonstrated all his skill and experience, darting out of contact and sprinting half the length of the field to scoop up the ball as noble thrower Santos was in range to pickup the loose ball and score.
Paul of Rand crashed in Blitzen, threatening to knock him off the pitch and into the bloodthirsty crowd. Both teams tried to control the edge of the pitch, tapping assisting and blocking until Rand was down, but Blitzen chose to remain at the touchline as a slip while dodging could see the ball fall into the crowd. Rand regained his feet and wrestled the ball from Blitzen but none of his noble team-mates could reach the ball so Santos put the boot in to remove Blitzen. His foul struck true but the referee ejected him immediately.
As the half came to a close, the Long-Pigs, switched on, Gaspedal threw a block to release Rache, Dolph Xandersson sprung Beck from coverage and Rache sprinted up field before launching a pass, which slid out of his grip as he wound up the throw.
After some minor intervention from the apothecaries, the teams lined up for the second half with the Long-Pigs' ten outnumbering the seven imperials.
The visitors lined up aggressively with a three-blitzer front line, flanked by the two halflings with a five-man backfield. The Imperials spread six men across the line of scrimmage to limit access to their half, the kick was sent high and deep, which 'the bear' fielded expertly.
The Morningstars hit out, knocking the front line back, wrestling the Baron to the ground and setting up another foul. In response, Xandersson knocked out his opposite number before Brando scooped up the Baron and launched him upfield, without even letting him regain his feet first. The Long-Pigs backfield emptied, with players streaming round both sides of the field before the counter attack left to of the home side seeing stars, including the Mighty Zug.
With four players bearing down on the ball carrier the home team identified a weak link in the screen and with a deft block on halfling Chancer, created a seam for the ball to be run through where it was then handed off to thrower Joe Mansion who sprinted into scoring range.
With their most recent victims lying at their feet, captain von Bismarck and Ivan Shultz combined to stun the ball carrier with the ball bouncing up neatly into the hands of the captain. Rising to his feet, the Mighty Zug planted a brutal block onto Brando the Ogre and despite the ministrations of the apothecary, he was taken not only off the field, but out of contention for the next game. With the few remaining Imperials in contact or seeing stars, von Bismarck ran the ball to Rache and prompted him to extend the lead with a quick pass to Beck who ran in unopposed. 2:0
Players out to injury and concussion saw the Morningstars line up with seven men against the Long-Pigs nine. The formations indicated the intentions of both sides, this was going to be a battle to the last.
The Morningstars fielded the high kick and ran it to halfway where the remaining players caged up before smashing every available human player. In response, the Long-Pigs committed every man (and both halflings) to surround the cage, with Rufus Zwerg-Jaegar blitzing in to pressure the ball-carrier.
Undaunted by the numbers, Zug fought his way out of a double team to carve a running lane upfield and Matthew of Gaetz led the charge by 'the bear' who powered out of contact and across to the sideline. The Long-Pigs captain led the response, combining with Ratchet and Shultz to flatten the runner. Despite the triple coverage, Paul of Rand deftly caught the bouncing ball and after Ioannes 'the bear' clouted Rache to the turf, Rand dodged out of trouble and sprinted to score. 2:1
The Morningstars set up deep to contain and prevent any further score so the Long-Pigs flattened the front line before sending three receivers into space. A few blocks later, and allowing for a showboating stall from Rache, Amadeus Beck caught a quick pass and extended the lead to close out the game. 3:1
After finishing dead last (and most dead) in MML Season One, the Long-Pigs have made it to the play-offs. Unfortunately, whoever we will face up to will not have the pleasure of being thumped by Brando who will be receiving treatment for at least a week.
In an ironic quote after the game, halfing Shadenfreude stated "Some teams might think that dirty tricks and foul play are a part of their strategy, we find that sort of thing beneath us! Bring on the play-offs and lets push for the Pro Division!"

Das Mädchen mit dem Drachen von Laetitia Colombani
Inhalt
Was die Cons angeht…. Well.
Was sehr unangenehm ist.

📸 ATP Challenger Livestream (via website)
Joris de Loore, who earlier defeated fourth seed Fabio Fognini 7-6(3), 6-1 after their semifinal match was interrupted due to a rain delay, advanced to the finals of the Zug Challenger, where he faced first seed Arthur Rinderknech, who yesterday defeated third seed Jurij Rodionov 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 to secure his finals ticket. Judging by the flow, it took depth and decent follow-up until someone prevailed in this match, which de Loore showed right from the start of the match.
After 4 smoother service game holds, de Loore faced a struggle in trying to keep up with his forehand side, eventually facing 3 break points. He tried to avert the damage from regaining his serves, as well as bringing Rinderknech off the balance from his forehand side. Eventually, de Loore managed to hold that service game 3-2, which was brutal in setting off the subsequent games. In the next game, de Loore’s power created several crucial moments to his forehands until it was not visible from the camera: a swift cross-court forehand return set his 3 break points, and converted it over another cross-court forehand winner to break 4-2. He then consolidated it to 5-2.
A game after that, de Loore had the opportunity to serve for the first set. Although de Loore had to avert the damage of being one point down, he still managed to make his (first) serves count, eventually acing his way through his set point before its conversion thanks to his forehand winner. Clinical, deep, and aggressive were the three words that perfectly described de Loore’s first set performance, which would be further tested in the second set with pacing.

BBEG end game
I know it’s ambitious, but I want Zuggtmoy to be my home game’s BBEG. BQ is just a baby level 1 half-orc barbarian, and I’ve done my fair share of prepping basement rat quests and fun, friendly NPCs...now it’s time for evil. The main gist of things is that Zugg wants to spread her hold and power to the Material Plane, and she’s utilizing the war happening between the Empire and the Dynasty in Wildemount as a way to harvest corpses and spread her spores. There will be a slight twist though, as I’m throwing in a red herring - Juiblex - due to their historic rivalry. The below potentially unintelligible writings/internet gatherings are plot hooks/encounters that could easily be tied to either of these demon lords.
Fevergulf Lake, Xhorhas: Eyes of the Lake [Wildemount Guide quest], sub Zugg for the long-forgotten god
Dreemoth Ravine, Xhorhas: Bones of Frigid Doom [Wildemount Guide quest], have the death knight have ties with Zug. Vorugal resurrected as ancient white dracolich
Charis, Xhorhas: small community of vegetarian farmers, forest guardians + druids - corrupted by Zug. Before corruption, they were hoping to cleanse the Lotusden Greenwood of the evils in the shadows
Grimgolir, Dunrock Mountains: young black dracolich that has a breath weapon causing a cloud of disease-spreading spores. Thought to be called to battle by the Kryn Dynasty, really a puppet of Zug. Not meant to be fought, just witnessed.
[Jungle Location]: leaf cutter ants feed off of fungus they cultivate in their warrens, a group of giant ants have been corrupted by the fungus. Corrupt giant ant society (based on leaf cutter ants, creating fungus), one queen, ant hill is as organized and complex as any town the PC would expect to encounter. Bulldog ant stats (+1 strength), maze of tunnels, large encounter
[Mountain Location]: PC comes upon large nest with one single egg, flapping wings are heard and a large adult vrock swoops down to defend it’s offspring (Zugg can summon 1d4 vrocks/day)
[Bog/Swamp Location]: vathugus and hezrous demons stalk the bogs. Chasmes and rutterkin can also be encountered frequently.
     - Vathugu Tanar’ri demon: solitary creature found in wetlands/swamp corrupted with fungi
     - Hezrous demon: solitary creature resembling a toad found in wetlands/swamp corrupted with fungi
     - Chasme: cross between human + fly. Reproduce via eggs + lay up to 10 eggs/year. Nest deep in swamp, near a destroyed teleportation circle to the Abyss. Arcana check to discern where the portal once lead
      - Rutterkin: malformed tanar’ri, wandered through rift in the planes. High DC check to find the rift somewhere in the area
[Many Locations]: devout fungi-worshipers, comprised mostly of misguided druids, clerics + maddened academics such as wizards
     - group of human cultists, maddened by the fungus eating their minds. not difficult, but impactful as the humans have already started tearing each other apart when the PC arrives
     - Parth, elite Death Cultist: leader of a small team of The Knights of Death
     - Circle of Spores Druid: lone half-elf found in the wilderness, crazed look in their eyes. They speak in a made-up language that the PC can’t decipher
     - Cleric of Corruption: found alone at an overgrown, ancient altar to Zugg (high DC religion check to understand cracked and ruined symbols)
     - Dark Mage: an outcast that could befriend the PC, will eventually realize the dark power the mage holds is slowly consuming their free will
[Underdark Location]: ruined underdark temple to Zug, myconids lead by a sorcerer/druidic priest with fungal-infested companion. PC is told this is where to find more information about Zug
     - Ogre druidic priest with fungal-infested panther companion
     - Myconid workers and myconid guards have created a small settlement within the ruined temple
     - Multiple traps and puzzles throughout the temple, as well as encounters with molds and slimes
     - Underdark tunnels lined with phosphorescent fungi + filled with mushroom eating duergar in acid trip berserker frenzy
Additionally, here’s some Zugg themed loot I saw a few people on Reddit (?) I think (sorry people of Reddit) talking about utilizing:
     - A quiver that regrows arrows from hard mushroom-like wood and “thorn”
     - A bag of puffshrooms that act like a grenade exploding into a stink cloud
     - Ring of barkskin
     - Shield that you can use a reaction when hit to spray a cloud of spores out, blinds the target and spreads Zug’s spores
     - Scarab inscribed with “TZGY”
     - A bow made of a sentient mycinoid, shoots better in darkness, speaks undercommon
     - Boots that give you advantage on stealth by growing little mushrooms each step, activate or deactivate as desired
Hope you have enjoyed your time here. Bye bye.

Western Flyer!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A short story from the archives of childhood memories. "Western Flyer!"
Pennies in a pink piggybank and painted blue forget-me-nots, a slot just big enough for silver dollars on top contained my 8-year-old life savings for a bike.  I don’t know how much money was in the bank just that it was heavy to lift from the floor at the foot of my bed.
I convinced Bobby Tollefson to let me borrow his bike. I didn’t know how to ride a bike I just got on and figured it out, at first tottering, feet on and off the pedals, touching the ground and then at last finding balance, pedaling faster and faster, wind in my hair, freedom in my soul. I rounded a corner full tilt at too wide an angle into an alley, and head over heels, ass over teakettle, I flew over the handlebars, smack into a brick wall. Too embarrassed to explain I crashed Bobby’s bike, I cleaned myself up, didn’t mention bloody nose and skinned elbows to anyone, and instead bragged to family, “I know how to ride a bike.”
I didn’t break the bank. I didn’t count the money. I wasn’t present for the robbery, didn’t witness broken shards of pink ceramic evidence at the crime scene, and didn’t pick the bike Dad brought home, “Here ya go. I bought you a bike.”
Like buying shoes, two sizes too big for a kid, the logic goes, “She’ll grow into them,” Dad spent my piggybank money on a full sized girls’ 1950 Western Flyer fully loaded bike built to last a lifetime with heavy duty shock absorbers mounted over the front wheel.  Why does anyone need shock absorbers on a bike?  It was hardly worth the extra weight on a solid steel frame coaster, plus a head light almost as big as the searchlight on Dad’s car.  By the time, I was a teen I had stripped the bike of its passenger carrier, basket, horn panel, chain guard, headlight and fenders encasing wide whitewall tires.
The bike was green. I would have picked red. For God’s sake, green? What kid likes a green bike? The color was the least of my complaints. I wanted to like the bike but I didn’t. Dad liked the bike. “OK, kid, let’s see you ride.” The handlebars towered over my head, the pedals too far from the seat for my short body; I reached up, grabbed the handlebars, hoisted myself up, and placed my feet on the pedals. I said I could ride. I knew I could ride. Everyone thought I could ride.  No one had seen me crash into a brick wall. I was determined to prove I could ride a bike. The backyard grass was bumpy, the bike was too big, I was too small. I braved two pedals strokes, fell off the bike, skinned both knees, and dented the front fender.
As if the humiliation of falling and denting the fender wasn’t enough, Dad put wooden blocks on the pedals so I could pedal while sitting on the seat. Worse, yet, he put training wheels on the back wheel to stabilize the bike. Training wheels! I didn’t need training wheels. I needed a smaller bike!
I wasn’t allowed to ride in the street. I confined my travels to sidewalk around a city block in industrial Southwest Detroit. Foghorns on Great Lake freighters transporting iron ore from Marquette, signaled each other in long deep moans and low-pitch growls on the Detroit River. From my bedroom window, when Zug Island coke ovens opened, iron ore melted into molten steel, lit the night sky red. Nearby, Ford Motor plant, built on the bottom lands of the Rouge River, forged steel into parts for cars.
I wonder now if riding in the street might have been less hazardous than the orange haze billowing from Ford’s smokestacks that hung in the air on windless days where I lived on Lafayette, the starting point of my journey around the block.
Turn the corner onto Elsmere, wave to Uncle Will in suspenders and undershirt sitting on his front porch smoking his pipe.  Don’t stop to pet the neighbor’s dog through the chain-link fence, he nips. Then round the corner to Chamberlain, breeze by the two-story apartment building, Shuttle bus stop and mailbox. Don’t cross the street to Sofi’s phosphate soda and penny candy store or Bill’s grocery next door.
Chamberlain Hungarian Bakery, halfway down the street, is where Grandma sent me with a dollar in my pocket for a loaf of pumpernickel rye or applejacks.
Turn onto traffic-busy Lawndale, Joe’s Soda Shop and convenience store on the corner is where I got my first job while in High School scooping ice cream and flipping hamburgers for 35 cents an hour, a little extra chocolate and nuts on banana splits for friends.
Joe’s was the hub of neighborly conversation and a 5 cent cup of coffee. It’s where I heard for the first time the words “rhythm method” spoken by Mariam, Joe’s wife, to a customer, a woman about her age, early 30’s, perhaps a confidante. Joe and Mariam were Catholic. I’m not sure if it was accidental or on purpose they had six kids under ten.
Across the street from Joe’s, Mom shopped at Lawndale Market and Dad drank beer with War buddies at Pokey’s Bar next door.  Then final leg to home on Lafayette, past the corner fire station where I’d sometimes see firemen playing volleyball waiting for a fire alarm bell to ring.
Around and around the block I’d go, training wheels rattling loudly behind. “Here she comes again,” Mrs. Vasher says to her husband Russell, “Yep, that’s at least 30 times today.”
Eventually, the bolts on the training wheels loosened and barely touched the ground. Just as I had taught myself how to ride a bike, I learned to use a wrench and screwdriver to remove the training wheels, a symbol of injured pride, and rough or smooth, dared to travel roads less known.
