idk if it's been talked about before but suzanne collins never misses a BEAT when it came to names, specifically coriolanus snow and dr volumnia gaul. just from their first names alone you can already guess what type of role might play between them (well... if you've read shakespeare's coriolanus that is. i do recommend it btw).

a lot of bits were taken from shakespeare's play for tbosas like the motif with scars / wounds / the body as being a microcosm of the nation, the common people fighting up against the government, coriolanus' hatred of the common people wanting to be "equal" to him, the rebel arc etc etc but i'm soooo so so interested in the fact that dr gaul was named volumnia and coriolanus is coriolanus because in the play, coriolanus' mother's name is volumnia!

volumnia is arguably the only female character in the play that has any depth (i am so sorry virgilia). his mother shapes her son into the warrior he is. she reminds him at every turn that he is nothing more than a weapon to be wielded. in fact, she's the one who gets her son to come back from his "revolt" against rome which ultimately lead to his demise. this parallels tbosas in the same way because dr gaul took coriolanus and molded him into the villain you would see in thg trilogy. she brought him back from d12 and then brought about the end of his humanity (a death, so to speak—at the end of the book he said something similar to this to try to save himself from lucy gray's suspicions but he was right because he did kill a part of himself to be where he is)! coriolanus snow's mother is present but off-page. her ghost haunts him, comforts him, but the 'mother' figure is the ever-present, all-knowing dr gaul.

Different Italian anon, but the thing with Tuscan C is that it's pronounced like a very strong H sound, which is extra weird cuz the letter H makes no sound in Italian, normally. It sounds the way Spanish pronounce the J. We say it's "aspirato". So then people from there will say things like Hoha Hola (coca cola), and it's funny. It's also extremely contagious, I got family in Florence, you spend 3 days with them you start doing it too before you even realize.

She told an art historian she was smarter than him to his face and she was right. She literally created the symbol of the fucking Rebel Alliance. She’s gay, she’s asian, and she’s popular. by far the worst take i've seen so far post-ep19 of Junior Year is that having a week-by-week live play would have allowed fans to essentially influence the direction of the story in the way they want it to go and that would have resulted in the cast being more sympathetic to the Ratgrinders (ie getting them a redemption arc)

why do you feel the need to try and control this story? YOU ARE NOT THE ONE TELLING IT. if you want to tell a story please go write your own, or go write fanfiction to cope or whatever but you don't get to say that the players are telling the story wrong when it's their story they are telling

I once headcanoned that Lucifer and Belphegor liked eachother because neither had the will to play stupid pranks on the other or get into conflict, and that hc just stuck with me

I think that maybe Belphegor is very smart (he has Gusion in his country so...) and he was the type of kid that got really good grades without having to study, but then he started getting bad grades and was like "well, looks like I'll drop out" and he did just that. He's still quite smart, but he doesn't bother anymore

The "see the future" thing is kind of strech, but hear me out! What could possibly make you lazier than knowing the outcome of every choice you make. Belphegor knows the war will end eventually, so why bother fighting in it. Also, maybe he gets disturbing visions while he's awake and that's why he sleeps so much. Just a thought

I'd say they all trust the merc to an extent but in different ways. echo might be the only one that trusts the merc to protect their life if it comes down to it but orla trusts them to do what needs to be done and the others trust their abilities/to finish what they started.

Cooper isn't just named after Todd Howard, he's named after Gary Cooper, star of stage & screen. Most famously of the film High Noon, where he plays a character who must do the right thing, even if it destroys his life & marriage & the theme song goes "do not forsake me, oh my darling."

The song lyrics also say "Oh, to be torn twixt love and duty." Which is the core of Cooper and Barb's tragedy imo. Love is the death of duty and duty is the death of love (to paraphrase GRRM).

Cooper's feeling of moral duty toward others would lead him to just trying to have some good time on a ranch with Janey and Barb before the end. And Barb's love for her little girl means she'll burn down her sense of duty to others (even though she has a conscience, unlike Bud and Hank) to save her.

It's meant to be an impossible situation because they both feel love and duty. And neither route, in being forced to choose between the two, is a good one.

in the concerts, all 10 songs from demoni have been played and 7 from umazane misli. maybe tallinn can expect to hear proti toku, omamljeno telo, and a sem ti povedal? the only other song not yet played is ssol.

they played carpe diem, everybody's waiting, umazane misli, šta bih ja, and almost all of demoni (minus ngvot, padam, and tokio) both nights. also šta bih ja is the only song played three times so far - twice on night one! i'm really curious for how this will change the next few concerts!
