#Bonnie Bennet deserved better

I think one of my personal main problems with YA shows that aren't primarily black casts is that they always throw the one black character (because there's usually only one main and maybe one supporting character active or alive at the same time) with
1. A character of a different race that treats them badly/will cheat on them (Bonnie from TVD ~ even though she and Jeremy were cute for a while)(Toni and Cheryl from Riverdale)(Kat with Jamie from Instant Star)(Also, Kwest with Sadie from Instant Star)
2. With the only other black character on the show (obviously where they're going with Bianca and the mayor's son in Wednesday)(Bonnie with that warlock's son in TVD)(The brother in South of Nowhere)(Majority of the black characters from Degrassi)
3. A good character that's leaving/gonna die soon (Bonnie with Enzo in TVD)(Honestly most of Bonnie's love interests)
4. Unrequited love or just single (I can't remember Skillz from OTH having a love interest)(Pete with Chloe from Smallville)(Lisa in Saved By The Bell)
Or 5. They don't have main black characters to begin with (like Gossip Girl or majority of the seasons of Teen Wolf or the really old popular shows like OTH (I mentioned Skills but he's in and out), 7th Heaven, majority of Boy Meets World (where I'd put Shawn and Angela under 1 because, although I love them, he was shitty to her), etc.
Or maybe those are just the ones I watched, 😂

Should I kill off Damon because what he did to Caroline maybe i could not kill him but he won't be love interest at all maybe Stefan too .i don't think anyone would date your friends abuser and Stefan know what is happening to Caroline and doesn't stop Damon so I'm really think about cutting them off . I've not watched TVD/TO (yet?) but been wondering since the first mention in Legacies the history of Bennett blood? it also always icked me out how Alaric seemed to have a constant supply like if it's supposed to be such a limited, special resource and Bonnie is the last in the line how did he get so much? like just the idea itself also (I doubt writers did this consciously) of having the blood and other aspects of life of Black and poc women. and blood is looked at differently in universe of course but for me it always was another issue on top of rest of Legacies that showed where the writing is
Oop. You picked the other thing I feel uncomfortable and angry at Legacies for. This is where Julie Plec’s habit of pissing off her actors have consequences in-story.
The thing is, despite what the Legacies Musical would want you to believe Bonnie Bennet is incredibly important to the Vampire Diaries universe. The whole gang would have died 100x over if Bonnie, a mostly untrained witch without a coven, hadn’t consistently come clutch for the Mystic Falls gang.
And the reason for this is because Bonnie’s bloodline stretches all the way to Qetsiyah. The real original witch (sorry Esther Mikaelson, not sorry). If I remember correctly, Qetsiyah is someone so powerful she enveloped the whole planet with a plane called the Other Side where Supernatural beings ended up after death. So you can imagine anyone descended from Qetsiyah’s line, even though not directly are hella powerful witches.
(This is Qetsiyah).
Bonnie is, in my opinion, one of those once in a generation witches. You can also imagine then, with blood magic how potent Bonnie’s blood is.
(As Spike from Buffy once said, it’s always about the blood. It’s like Plec and co heard that and ran with it).
The other powerful blood in TVDU are: Doppelgänger blood (Katherine, Elena/Stefan and Silas), The Mikaelson blood, Klaus’s original Hybrid blood, and Hope’s tribrid blood.
Their blood can be a potent ingredient to any spell.
In that context, this means any powerful spell originated in a TVD storyline inevitably needs either Doppelgänger blood or Bennet blood.
Unfortunately, the Gemini coven tied their creation of prison worlds to Bennet blood.
And the only remaining LIVING Bennet blood (as implied by the show) is Bonnie. And Bonnie will never step foot into Mystic Fall ever again.
Mostly because of how Bonnie suffered through the years and also because Julie Plec consistently pissed Kat Graham off.
And so now, because Legacies answer to almost every problem is tossing them to a prison world… I have this very dark thought of:
IS BONNIE STILL ALIVE? HOW DOES ALARIC HAVE A DISTURBING AMOUNT OF BENNET BLOOD AROUND THE SCHOOL?
It’s one thing for Marcel to have vials of Klaus’s blood when he was alive as a cure to a lethal werewolf bite. Because he negotiated that arrangement with Klaus.
Or how Hope apparently has vials of her blood in the medicine cabinet. Apparently that’s a freely given resource but Bennet blood??
Where are you getting vials of Bennet blood, Alaric??? Because I know Bonnie will never willingly step foot in Mystic Falls ever again.

ABOUT
Lale Kaplan's parents were a young couple who had a ton of early issues but seemed to figure it out. However, there was always the undercurrent that something wasn't quite alright.
The Kaplan's did their best despite their issues and filled their children's lives with wonder and love. Despite their issues, Lale and her older sister never wanted for anything where their parents were concerned.
Lale grew up very determined and with a strong desire to be everything her parents claimed she was. She did tumbling, cheerleading, and ballet and pushed herself in everything she did. Lale was adaptable. She could seamlessly fit into any group taking on traits of those around her. This meant it was often difficult to get to know Lale on a deep level, and sometimes she thought she preferred it this way.
The closest person in Lale's life outside of her sister was her mother. She admired her spirit and every whimsical bit of Azra. However, when Lale was a child, her mother left one day and never returned. She knew by then Azra was unhappy in her life but to actually leave was a terrible shock.
None was more shocked than her father, whose health declined, and eventually, the man passed, leaving the Kaplan siblings without a parent. This opened the door for Miray, her aunt, to move in and step in as a legal guardian.
Miray was only a guardian in the legal term. In reality life never recovered and was a uniquely terrible experience where through her grief and anger, Miray was never able to be what the kids deserved. Miray was irresponsible, and the relationship between her and the children was strained and untrusting.
After getting pregnant at 16, her boyfriend and Lale stole a ton of money (money that was technically left by her father) and got it to her sistet, who was struggling more and had been talking about running away. Lale believed the money would get him a head start and some safety net.
Life quickly spiraled after having her son. From her sister's constant woes ( a fact Lale always blamed herself for), a wedding to the father of her child, and the following affairs, injuries, and more, Lale has felt like she's been swept through life the last several years.
In between it all, Lale has obtained her doctorate in music and carved out private passions for herself. She never imagined she'd return to Half Moon Bay but the opportunity for Bennet's career and to take over her childhood home felt too good to pass up. For better or worse, she and her family are back.

Yes, Elena would be mad the second time. But tbh, she has no right to be. If she didn't want Damon sleeping with Rebekah the second time, she should've been open about her feelings. The problem isn't Damon or Elena, it's Stefan. He's hiding the truth from both of them so that Damon continues to lash out. Getting Damon to lash out gives Stefan time to try to patch things up with her. She's still mad at Damon in 3x18, but once he gets taken, she's ready to save him because being mad doesn't mean she wants him dead. She's still in love with him. That's when Stefan confronts Elena about her feelings for Damon and sends her to Denver. Once they hit Denver, Damon knows Stefan's deal but Elena doesn't. Stefan manipulates the situation until he can't manipulate it anymore.

Watching Kat Graham videos on YouTube and it makes so happy to see people finally discussing how terrible Kat and her character were treated on TVD. Julie Plec and Caroline Dries are horrible racists and couldn't stand the fact Bonnie AND Kat were so loved by the cast but also the fans. Kat dealt with such microaggressions from both those wretched women. Constantly killing Bonnie off, mistreating her, wanting to fire Kat(would've happened if not for Ian and also fans) They couldn't stand to see such a beautiful black woman in the spotlight and it shows. Their looks alone when Kat was talking*literally any time just shows the racism and misogynair Kat constantly dealt with. It's so validating to see so many people talking about what black fans of TVD have said for years. Kat Graham literally hates her character, doesn't want to talk about her time on the show because of how terrible her time on there was. Even the fact that Julie Plec opened her mouth to speak out on racism going on in these times is so hypocritically laughable to me. She has no self awareness at all. You can watch the videos on YouTube for yourself and see all the mistreatment Kat endured from both those women, the way they(Julie and Caroline) absolutely froth at the mouth anytime Kat dared to voice her opinions is just disgusting. Bonnie Bennett deserved better. Kat Graham deserved better. Bonnie Bennett carried that show period. And was a fan favorite despite all that racist bullshit Julie and Caroline pulled. Its honestly so gross it took this long for people to be mainstream talking about it but at least they're now talking about it.

it’s wild how much everyone expects from davina, she’s basically the bonnie of the originals, and it’s kind of sad tbh. she deserves more than this, to be valued as a person with her own needs and wants, to be a teenage girl, not to be the vessel of magic that can fix everyone’s problems jfc. she’s a kid who watched all her friends be sacrificed violently in a crazy coven witch ritual, was poisoned, witnessed her first love’s death, is constantly blackmailed by ppl who torture and hurt her loved ones, died in a ritual selflessly to save new orleans and humanity, was tormented by the ancestors, and came back to life traumatized and scared. she deserves a break and some rest, not to be manipulated into doing everyone’s bidding and being called a basket case when she’s understandably hurt by everything that’s been done to her and everyone who’s used her.
