I'm a vocal performance and music education major.

I've been learning German on and off my whole life.

I think the school system is mighty messed up and needs a dramatic rework to bring them up to modern times.

I worked as a counselor at a sleepaway camp last summer and have many stories.

I play D&D. My current characters are Aurelia Amélyn (a half-elf bard who's very clearly my first character) and Elodi (a fire genasi paladin with a troubling past that the party hasn't uncovered yet)

CALLING ALL BLUNDEREIER: EGG WEEK IS BACK!!!!

That’s right, folks: after a four-year hiatus due to various happenings of life, we’re finally bringing back the weeklong celebration of our beloved BYNMM (and Ms. Leah Thomas’s birthday)! 

The official dates are November 22nd-29th (just like last time), although we will of course still happily accept early or late posts! The prompt list will be posted later today (November 19th). Stay tuned throughout the celebration for more details!

I just had a whole actual married, mother of two adult woman be the first person older than about 21 to actually accept the fact that I don't want to get married and be willing to talk through what that means for me, instead of trying to convince me that I'll change my mind as I get older. to the surprise of no one my favourite musical is probably book of mormon,, i think i just love the genre of musicals that make you belly laugh

recently i watched the spongebob musical and honestly... has no right to be as good as it is

underrated genre that are my favourite: showtunes about living in blissful denial. that involve pink sequins.

Smartness

Just curious about your comment on giving the smartest character a northern English accent (presumably not literally since they speak a different language, but in a theoretical "English dub"); who would you say are the smartest cats in the BB au?

Jessy! Definitely! That girl's a total genius! She's got this amazing way of thinking in 3D and considering long-term consequences. I consider her as a proper prodigy of cat engineering, more than just being intelligent like a lot of my other characters.

Lizardstripe and Barley Sr. are both also very intelligent, though Lizardstripe's intelligence is in a more interpersonal sense where Barley Sr's is in a more engineering sense.

I try to think of intelligence not as a singular Thing, but as a bunch of separate 'types' of intelligence that individuals can have. Some people are great at understanding 3D space, others are amazing at remembering basically everything, others have outstanding social intelligence. So on. Most people have at least one, unless you're Billystorm <3

Other random 'smart dudes' in BB,

Runningnose: Just as intelligent as his mother, Lizardstripe.

Brushburn: Great engineer, photographic memory

Dappletail and Ferncloud: All educators need to have really good memories.

Ravenpaw: Excellent memory, would have made a great Cleric

Spottedleaf: Insightful, catches people off guard with how much she's able to gleam about you just from a few sentences

Daisy: Very rational and insightful, able to clear her mind and see things objectively.

Poppyfrost: Inquisitive, excellent at logical processes

MacGyver: That name... it HAS to be something.

List is obviously not comprehensive, but these are characters I think are particularly intelligent.

Anyway, yeah, in-universe the cats are all speaking Clanmew. But I got a request from a loved one to very specifically make "the smartest character" ferociously Northern for them (in the hypothetical "dub").

Logically since the cats are in an amalgam of Clwyd/Cheshire/Manchester/Merseyside/Lancashire they'd ALL get accents from those areas. But "the smartest character" has to be even further up. Cumbria, maybe.

in future years, egg week will likely continue to be held during the last week of november, leading up to our beloved ms. thomas’s birthday on the 29th. leah’s birthday is the original reason we picked that time period back in 2017.

as for doing a whole month, i did make a prompt list for eggtober™ back in 2020 (it can be found in the #info tag), and i’d be perfectly happy to make another one this year :)

also, if you have some fan content related to bynmm or leah’s other works that you’d like me to reblog here, feel free to tag @blunderkinder and i will do so without hesitation! beyond that, if you have specific ideas for further events, shoot me a dm (preferably on my main blog @anhedoniacity but here works too) and i will do what i can to bring them to life!

artemis in pseudo death

#artemis is dead AND alive to me #hear me out #i don't think you're the only traveller who's met artemis in-universe #artemis could be a recurring pattern that has appeared in many different traveller iterations #maybe not in EVERY iteration but i believe a good portion has still met them #by extension perhaps apollo and null too. then they could also be seen as recurring patterns #but they might not come in the same package with artemis. call them free goodies you never know when you'll get them #but there's a very real chance. #if a traveller meets artemis it's not guaranteed that they'll go through the usual procedure of the artemis questline #like they could ditch artemis (or die) halfway through or they simply choose to ignore them alltogether #do keep in mind we're talking IN-UNIVERSE here. gameplay mechanics like respawning are thrown out of the window #now here's my main point (HUGE SPOILERS) #the travellers who have to make THE choice can't all be going for the same choice #so there's going to be plenty of dead artemises and artemises who are alive in the simulation #we're talking about this on a multiversal scale #and the artemis up to the point before the choice is pseudo dead. or pseudo alive if you will because it's like a 50/50 thing #artemis has 3 states: dead. alive and pseudo dead/alive #this all sounds very familiar doesn't it? schrodinger's cat moment #they're not exactly the same but they're damn close enough to me #if artemis really is a recurring pattern in different traveller iterations then artemis has probably met more travellers than anyone else #only beaten by nada and polo #artemis would have realized their dream but in an extreme way. they're meeting other travellers on a multiversal scale #nms artemis #no man's sky #shit just realized there's another thing to expand on but i'm too tired by now. it's gonna have to go in an analysis if it ever comes out

I get so tired of people saying that underage people are too young to transition in terms of taking hormones or that even the younger adult years might be too young. Turns out your body naturally does irreversible things to itself if left alone even though you're supposedly too young to know what your gender is. But apparently it's evil or abusive or irresponsible to replace those irreversible effects with different irreversible effects. Or even just make them happen slightly later so kids have more time to really think about which irreversible effects they want. No, the only moral choice is to force one kind of irreversible effect on kids and not allow there to be any choice at all ever. Making that potentially wrong choice for them is somehow the only good option. Farquaad-ass "some of you may die, but it's a sacrifice i am willing to make."
