My story will be back soon! I have been studying for the LSAT, trying to find a new job, getting ready to have my mom com visit (if she actually buys her ticket), and going through some personal things with my family and my partner.

I just watched Frozen (because I'm in that kind of mood) and while I've always loved it, I just have two questions:

How was Olaf's willingness to melt for Anna not an act of true love?

How in the world was Anna not immediately in love with Kristoff like she [thought she] was with Hans? Kristoff is completely adorable and completely competent in terms of survival.

THIS IS STILL KINDA ROUGH but heres my elsa reimagining. this is her after building her castle in the mountains

i think that elsa repressing her powers for a long time caused it to build up inside of her in a harmful way, which made her features more sharp (like ice spikes) and also made her skin bluer. it also made her super tall. this made her hate herself more for being monstrous/dangerous, which led to her repressing her powers even more

also my frozen rewrite leans heavily into the tragic aspects of anna & elsa's sisterhood </3

OMGGG I love how much more angsty this rewrite is. Also if it were animated i could see it in the same animation style as the black cauldron, especially fitting Elsa with the new take on her here lolol

I wonder how will you adapt The Snow Queen to your DisneyVerse. You will take inspiration of concept art of Marc Davis about that cancelled ride?

There’ll be some inspiration from the ride yes, likely in the costume design aspect, and maybe for what’s happened to Elsa’s Ice Castle in the years since Frozen, along with some of the early 90s/2000s concepts of the movie that actually featured Kai and Greta. Basically I’d just like to include much more of the beats of the actual story as it’s one of my favorite fairytales

was gonna make a post bitching about how being a princess of heart works but then i remembered the whole union cross 'the 13 darknesses are sentient' thing and came up with my own theories but ive looped back around to being mad again. goddd why does shit actually work when you think about it im so mad

#i was hung up on the singular sentence in kh3 abt them releasing the lights into new vessels (EXPLAIN PLS?) #and ive come to the conclusion that the 7 lights are their own sentient beings like the darknesses who can interact with their hosts #and they explained the situation and all went 'hey jasmine/belle/etc id usually only do this if u died but like #the baddies all know where we are now. can we fuck off to new hosts so they dont find us' #and the princesses all went thumbs up emoji and off they fucked to arendelle #n then that leaves a couple options for kairi #first off her light went 'oh she has a keyblade? im staying here then. no need to ask her' #second off it asked her and she decided to keep it. which is INTERESTING and i will have to think abt to decide what it means #bcos like. im keenly fucking aware that we get Three whole sentences abt the situation in kh3 #and neither kairi nor the former princesses r there for it. so like. What's your take on Anna and Kristoff? Am I the only one thinking he would be miserable as Anna's husband? He doesn't like palace life or dressing up or being confined. How is he going to manage as Prince Consort ?

Good question because I think you're on to something here. Kristoff wouldn't like these things of course given the nature he's grown up in and lived, being a mountain man. He wouldn't find it easy at least.

Kristoff didn't change himself when he was Anna's boyfriend, and when he lived in the castle. He kept rolling his way with his love for reindeers, sledges which is good. Besides, Anna loved Kristoff for his personality, for his big heart. Anna never expected him to change and I don't she wil going into marriage. At the end of Frozen 2, after Anna was announced Queen to some citizens, Kristoff along with Sven and Olaf, got dressed in formal for the occasion. It was clearly seen that Kristoff is struggling with dressing the role but is doing it for Anna's happiness. But to his suprise when Anna came over she undid his set hair and tells him she likes him the other way. Anna knows Kristoff's big heart well, so she truly appreciated him and the boys dressing up formal for her but knows they would find it hard to keep up with the act, because they shouldn't have to change themselves for love. So what we take from that scene is that Anna would want Kristoff to continue being himself in his own comfortable looks rather than spend all day feeling restless. I watch a lot of romantic movies and series and I'm a series, someone explains what love is and she says from what I can remember, love is making yourself uncomfortable so that the other person who loves you can feel comfortable. And what Kristoff did, was a perfect example of this. He made himself uncomfortable with the intention that Anna would be happy and comfortable. But like I said Anna doesn't want him to hold the struggle and find himself pressured and like you suggested, become miserable.

So as for your question, how will he handle Prince Consort?, I think he'll do just fine. He'll wear clothes that are formal but comfortable and as for the duties Anna will help him balance it out. As for the "palace life", I don't think he dislikes it. I think from time to time he has been living in a room in the castle because now that he's with Anna, he's going to become a family, he won't continue living scruffy.

But if he still feels the pressure of all this high royal stuff, and if Anna herself is struggling with Queen than I think Elsa will help them find a solution either in the podcast or the movie. But I don't think that will be the case. We'll just have to listen to the podcast first to see what could be possible for the movie.

But to summarise this, I don't think they will have a miserable marriage. Anna wants Kristoff feeling comfortable with this change, and he will do his best either way to make her feel loved especially when the Queenly pressures rise. I really hope we see their wedding in the movie though.

more specifically, however, i’ve been meaning to start the broken earth series by n.k. jemisin all year and never found myself in the mood to start a new fantasy series. will try again this year!

definitely “a day of fallen night” by samantha shannon! arguably enjoyed adofn more than priory; but she’s really done it again. impeccably paced, wonderful characterization all around, i want to kiss tunuva melim on the lips.

11. what was your favorite book that has been out for a while, but you just now read?

i finally read the dunk and egg novellas about six months ago! they’re unironically some of grrm’s best work—especially the scene where [REDACTED] dies. i can see why he keeps ignoring the winds of winter to write more dunk and egg adventures, which should make me a little bitter towards them perhaps, but i’m incapable. that’s my friends dunk and egg who are having fun and WILL escape the cycle 🫡

An honesty quite sadistic little creep of a child who ends up getting literally dragged down to hell

Basically the same sort of thing happens in the DisneyVerse (though its more likely she was messing around with dark magic that backfired) and its in the dark underworld that she meets Voland, who offers her the choice of entering his service to get out of Hell.

She's Voland's most loyal follower for this, and doesn't really fear anything except being sent back. Hans is honestly pretty creeped out by her. He's never sure if she's actually teasing when she talks about making his teeth into a necklace or such things if he fails the tasks Voland sets him, and he tries to stay out of her way.

She's the kind of person who takes perverse joy in causing fear and pain and is always slightly manic and ready to fly off in a rage if things don't go the way she wants.

Karen's hurt a fair amount of people over the years. Not physically mind, at least not herself. But imagine an even more jaded Meg, who just goes in and does her job to fulfill Voland's wishes and powers through not thinking about it.

Anna's reaction to seeing Hans with another woman is basically 1. Punch Hans Again for just having the gaul to be there and 2. Try to instantly talk Karen out of whatever lies Hans has surely told her to get her interested in him. It does take a fair bit of time seeing them together for Anna to start being able to believe Hans has actually improved and really does care about Karen and isn't just using her.
