I saw some art of Android Ingo and Emmet with screen display faces and tbh that's my absolute favorite kind of "face" for any robot character- LED screens are really fun and cute looking, imo.

Some Headcanons about the Android boys: ◮ These two are bio-electric androids, rather than straight up machines. They're half synthetic cellular construct, half AI-powered battle machine- And beloved by the public as unofficial heroes and mascots of Android tech. ◮ They are completely autonomous, and can function for years without maintenance- They are self repairing, self fueling, and they were also some of the first androids ever released before someone realized it was a bad idea to give your lethal autonomous AI bots the ability to self-sustain. ◮ They have two "cores" that power their bodies- A biological core, much like a "heart", that supplies their biological functions with fuel, and a power core that provides them with all the power they need for their mechanical functions- They can also use their power core to power other machinery, or give themselves a super-boost in combat if needed. The bio-core is a biological hazard and contains chemicals known to the town of Undella to cause not just regular cancer, but probably Super Android Cancer- Luckily no one's trying to eat them or rub their eyeballs on their hearts. Their power cores, on the other hand, are radiation hazards when exposed- And protected by thick metal and polymer plating to prevent leaks.

◮ They are battle Androids, designed to protect interstellar transit routes or regular passenger transit- Protecting passengers is how they ended up becoming heroes as people recorded their battles against rogue drones and other threats.

◮ They have nanobots- Innumerable armies of miniscule robots inside of them that repair any broken pieces, heal/repair/grow any synthetic cells, or even specialized attack bots that dissolve any foreign materials in their bodies- Or outside. They also come equipped with the ability to synthesize human/pokemon medic bots to stabilize any injured passengers- And they can control their nanobots, as well.

◮ Androids have an extremely long list of precepts and codes they have to follow- If they attempt to disobey their precepts, their bodies literally stop working. Most precepts were things along the lines of the Three Laws of Robotics, but more and more kept being added with various legal cases and lawsuits and eventually P.R cases and public safety. ◮ They have regulators that prevent their synthetic neurons and other biological functions from acting on any... organic urges they might have, despite their genetically engineered origins. Sure would be bad if those broke, wouldn't it?

◮ Their LCD screen displays can make various emoticons for them to convey their meanings- Ingo and Emmet also use their signature triangle smiles to help differentiate the two for maintenance crews and the public.

◮ Also! Forgot to add, their limbs aren't attached to their body normally- They can launch them like drones at targets or grapple things from afar, and they can pull themselves to their limbs if needed.

Elysium: Latches on to it immediately. Why yes he is your beloved spouse, now, they don't expect an immediate proposal after that but he will unflinchingly refer to himself as your husband in any conversation

Black Dahlia: brain stops working. exe as encountered an error. she won't say anything about it but she is now paying close attention to how you refer to her in conversations.

Overdose: teases you about it but their face is also red from blushing so who's really the clown here. they pretend they're calling you their spouse back ironically but they're too giddy about it for it to be ironic

Cold: does a double take for a second but rolls with it. gives you a knowing look afterwards. A conversation for later is to be had.

Sweetheart: His name might as well be husband now because that is all he wants you to call him now. restraining from proposing to you on the spot tbh.

The Host: Brain short circuits for a hot second as they stare at you slack jawed before they regain composure. poorly. they hurry the conversation along so they can ask you if you really mean it.

There's some difference between the reactions before romancing the ROs and after getting into a relationship.

Before (early story):

Avira/Aurelius: Totally gets you. They have their own fair share of issues with House duties and responsibilities that they'll completely understand why you never wanted to do this in the first place. Would pat you on the back and sigh sadly.

Castora/Castor: Would nod in understanding, although they wouldn't really care much. You're here now and that's all that matters. Though, if you look stressed or depressed, they might pull you aside for a little heart to heart talk. If you're snarky and angry? They'd just back away and give you some space.

Esme/Esmeray: Would laugh. Like, loudly. The kind that's loud but empty tbh. Their situation is complicated, considering that out of all the ROs they chase after that sliver of glory the most. E has a ruined reputation after being cursed and works hard to build it back up, so they probably would feel the least empathy for your problems.

(Ruined reputations of House members does affect the Houses, as they lose some semblance of power in the Kingdoms politics.)

Nyoka: Wouldn't even be there to hear you complain lmao.

(I plan for Nyoka to appear in forms of past memories, so you won't meet them early into the story.)

Middle to late story/romance:

A, C and E would feel guilty. There's a reason for this but I won't spoil it now.

Nyoka would feel angry. Angry that you have to shoulder the burden of the elders mistakes. They'd take out their anger on any threats you'll face on the way, so essentially you just got yourself an angry snake lmao.

Wren would be super excited and eager to join your vengeance mission. They think it's entertaining and funny, they don't take it nearly as seriously as they should. They'll help you out by offering information on people whenever they can.

Ryoku: *ryoku.exe has stopped working* has no idea how to react to this lmao he's been staring at you for a full min and you have to ask him what's wrong, "are those my clothes?" you answer with a yes, he responds back with a nod and a gruff approval sound. cannot look you in the eye while you're wearing them but you catch him sneaking glances out of the corner of your eye

Kougetsu: they're gonna go feral someone hold them back. "ARE THOSE MY CLOTHES?" before you get a chance to respond they come up from behind, wrapping their arms around you. "they look much better on you than me. you can keep them." is so hoping you'll wear them again! feeling very soft thinking about how they never expected anyone to want to get close enough to them to wear their clothes, yet here you are 🥺

Also not really sure why Butterfly is considered a red flag? I group them in with the other masked ROs, though sometimes they remind me of E on their level of intensity or interpretation, and while some of their mentality might be a bit toxic they seem mostly normal besides that. Maybe I'm blind!

Edith/Edward: They have low standards for what they consider to be a red flag, so it doesn't take much to tip them off. It's best to understand one's opponents, so they see how it plays out.

My definition is thus, taken from my Romance FAQ: In short, I wouldn’t consider the relationships you can have with them to be healthy in the real world, but fine to explore in fiction. To be more specific, these routes are more akin to obsessions than equal partnerships.

I will be honest; I do not know how much it will come up in the story, if at all, but Butterfly can be quite spiteful when hurt. This and the fact that they are quite manipulative are not healthy traits!

Dead Mike AU!! Cuz i never gave it like an actual name lmfoaidnsakll ill be honest i never ended up developing it a BUNCH but basically what would have been like the first chapter or so if it were a fic wpuld be (with like the BIGGEST of help from @/peariandpine figuring half of it out with me lmfao :

- Party of 83 happens like canon, Mike is bullying his little brother and CCs head is crushed - this au would also be going off the idea of CC being the protag of fnaf4 so hed be in the hospital

- this causes a bigger rift between Michael and his dad ofc and i wanna say the fourth night is when the catalyst of it all happened

- Michael, after another fight with his dad refuses to go to the hospital alongside him after work , preferring to just go on his own later > Charlie gives him his jacket

- William leaves the hospital more annoyed and amgry than he was before because he had still expected Michael to come at some point anyway AND because thru his preexisting jealousy of Henry is angry at the man for trying to console him - he takes it as an insult esp since Henry has never lost a child and has two (sammys here btw lol) perfectly alive, healthy kids

- as hes going home, stewing in that anger and jealousy he sees who he thinks is Charlie walking alongside the road and begins to pull over already thinking of killing the girl only to be met with Michael

> he demands Michael get inside the car, Micheal refuses and William steps out to try and get him in - some nasty words are exchanged and William gets,,violent

- Michael panics and runs into the nearby woods , getring slowed down by the jacket snagging, eventually throwing it off to the side

- unfortunately, for him he hesitates upon coming across a river and that gives William more than enough time to catch up

- William, again just absolutely angry and hopped on adrenaline (and a lot of his own self hatred bubbling to the surface) starts taking his frustrations out on Michael - hes not thinking clearly at all and with Michael looking SO MUCH like him it really is not helping him out until...Michael goes silent after Williams dunked his head in the water

- Michaels not responding and now Williams starting to come back to reality and begins to panic, realizing exactly what hes just done - Charlies death, while it still would have been a very on the spot thing, would not have been as messily executed and , in Williams mind, would have had a purpose

- he then tries to convince himself that this is okay actually because michael killed his other son so really this was punishment.....only for CC to Live in this version

- Michael here would actually be taking a page from Andrews book and attach himself to Williams soul instead of any one specific animatronic - since Foxy has always been his favorite tho he does tend to mess eith it more when in Freddys and manifests himself throigh its image when messing with William

- this drives William ro try and get Michael back somehow, whichever way he possibly can to absolve himself of this, to put things back together again,,,

- this au would have also led to Charlie, Sammy, Liz, and to a smaller extent Evan, trying to find Michael after his "disappreance "

- this would also just be a huge more psychological horror on Williams end tbh 😭 i dont think ALL of the things happening and supernatural occurences would be because of Mike - Will is severely paranoid, hes not in the right state of mind at all, and i think hes kinda managed to create his own personal agony monster

For awhile i was considering having Mike possibly not have even possessed ANYTHING and would have left it as purely Williams own descent to madness

Too many interactive games these days are forcing represantation of dark skinned characters for clout like that actually helps gain more readers.. Maybe that can be good if there's a balance🤷but having only one for me available to romance isn't making the game any fun considering that she is a traitor, and I cant even pronounce half the ethnicities of the others. You should at least consider adding more.

I will try to answer this as calmly as possible, but know that I only did so because this wasn't the first time that I got an ask similar to this. I'm also not answering any more like it in the future to avoid further discourse (it's just tiring lol). Some people just can't behave.

First of all, anon, I don't know why you'd accuse a writer of color that they're chasing clout all because most of the ROs are of color, too. Is it so difficult to understand that perhaps I'm a lot more comfortable with that? You speak of balance, but maybe think about the balance within the IF community with regards to the amount of characters of color properly represented by authors in comparison to white characters.

Meaningful representations for PoCs are already hard enough to see in every form of media, even in IFs. Usually they're not written with enough understanding and education, making them feel... not genuine at all, sometimes bordering into fetishization. Issues arise because some authors can't be bothered to research and take some time to figure out how the character's background has influenced them in a realistic manner. So yeah, as a PoC myself, I don't think I have the responsibility to concede into writing more white characters than I've meant to with that in mind. I’m actually glad more writers of color are slowly emerging in this community now.

In addition to that, you already have enough control of the main character; I'm not going to let you do that with characters I've spent a lot of time working on just because you're not a fan of the ethnicities they have (tbh you’re really just being racist here). Is that rude of me to do? I don't know, maybe you think so, but for the first time in my life I’m able to represent my own ethnicity alongside other minorities, and this ask is really not making a case as to why I shouldn't.

P.S. If I had wanted clout, I would have made a simple cop IF without the nuances that come along and the underlying issues I aim to put focus on. Maybe if I had done so, I wouldn’t have received nasty police-defending asks in my inbox for the past year.

i'm glad you brought up the issue with gender selectable ros. i know authors do it with the intention of being more inclusive, but it really doesn't do anything for diversity and representation. a lot of the times, these characters end up being one-dimensional because it's hard to develop a character when so much about them have to be left blank. other times, they come across as having been written with a male character in mind. and this has to do with the fact that they tend to be masculine. and while women and enbies can be masculine, almost none of these characters are feminine, even though men and enbies can be feminine too. so it's easy to think that they have stereotypically male traits because they were written to be male. it doesn't help when authors slip and use he/him pronouns when coding them in.

authors also don't take into account that male characters are almost always prioritized over female ones. look at the tags for any if, and it'll likely be dominated by the male characters. if the choice is there, a lot of people will choose to have a predominantly (if not completely) male cast because these people tolerate female characters at best, and if there's a choice not to have them in the story at all, they're going to choose not to have them. and this gives way to even less diversity.

i don't think there's any benefit to having gender selectable ros. authors are better off writing fleshed out characters. and authors would do well to reflect on their attitude towards female characters. i understand that they don't bring in the same engagement their male counterparts do, but i would hope that most authors write because they have a story to tell. and if that's true, a lot of them need to start reflecting on why women have such little presence in their stories. is it because there's no room for them in the story you're trying to tell (which can be true) or is it because you don't care enough to write about them? and that might seem harsh, but i think we're at a point where these questions need to be asked.

I don’t even particularly blame authors btw. It’s just a vicious circle.

Audience have a responsibility in this. They just ask questions or seem interested in white boy#1…. There is never people interested in the female li.

So here comes the circle.

People ask more content about white boy, and they send ask after ask of just about them. Author obvs just respond to the questions they get, which gives even more content for white boy, which again causes more people to be interested in white boy, and so on.

Authors are just in hard place, I don’t think they have a favorite character, I mean they created all of them. They probably wish all their characters would be loved the same.

And tbh. I don’t know which one is more work…. To make a character gender selectable. Or just have a full fleshed on character with a set gender. I would have to ask for authors opinions on that.

It’s a really hard topic. Cause at the end of the day most authors do what they can to make everyone happy and this is just a hobbie. And I appreciate them very much so it’s hard for me to be too critical about it

I try my best not to have any celebrity crushes but I've been so bitchless recently that when I got into Ateez I was immediately floored by San 😭😭 so uh yeah that's the only one rn LMIUSFDHDFI

I usually tend to start the story with plot. Through that, my characters blossom; I usually look for a personality I want to embody, and also a character I haven't seen too often. For example, I haven't really seen any Nepali characters in IF, so I'm making a nepalese RO in Witness in Plain Sight. The ethnicities of my characters are often from the ethnicities of my friends who find they don't have any characters they can relate to in media, so the appearance of my character is the third/second thing I think about.

I outline first, but I pants through it!

Oh boy... my favorite boy groups are seventeen, ateez & BTOB, and my favorite girl groups are twice, stayc and ive!! I'm also getting into CNBLUE right now. My fav soloist is Sunmi.

My music taste is a little bit of anything and everything. I love music in different languages (korean, spanish, french, chinese, japanese, urdu, and hindi, lots of bollywood music in general). I think N would like a lot of vocaloid & hyperpop music, while Oli is more interested in alt music, just a lot of music with guitar. Hannie likes classical music, lofi, just anything they can listen to in the background without too many lyrics. When learning a new language, they like to listen to music in that language, too.

I'm kind of experimenting with mine!! If I had a lil more money, I would love to dress fancy and old-timey. (Like the pic, and a bunch of art on pinterest which I can't find the cred for!) 7. HMMM... okay something that I REALLY want to see is the great historian 'they were just friends'. I want two ladies to fall in love in medieval times. I would also LOVE something like melvina's therapy, a bunch of short stories that tie into eachother! 8. Definitely do your research!! Reach out to other authors, and create a network of people you can rely on! Not only will it be great for when you decide to go through with your project, but you'll have a community that can help you, inspire you, and that you can talk to when you have difficulty!! I love all of them, don't get me wrong, but I'm a colossal dumbass. I'm really happy I get to do what I love, tho, and I love being able to write!!!
