What do you think Fresh’s childhood (if he had one) was like?
It depends! If ya go based off AlainaPrana Fresh origin comic on DA. I'd assume probably really bad, but I'm not sure how canon that still is because it was never finished, but she did mention the original story concept was by CQ.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So going off what was made! and my own ideas of where it could've gone!
in scenario A, I think his childhood was in a lab mostly, I'd assumed that the human have expectations, Fresh was their experiment in some way, so it wouldn't be that far fetched that they might run harmful tests on him, regardless of them being alive and feeling pain, and perhaps having some acknowledge of existence? the human would probably want more acknowledge about him regardless if they knew Fresh was a parasite at that point.
And Fresh first instinct from feeling pain would probably be fear of death, so In my opinion Fresh you know, would react to those badly and perhaps attack the human in self-defense. So say than the human dies or Fresh takes them as their first host,
Okay but now what? Fresh is new to the world and 'killed' the only other alive thing he knew? They're a strange unique creature, everyone who come across him would be scared, and Fresh would probably immediately get attacked out of fear of the unknown.
And Fresh doesn't have any one to teach them anything, so as CQ mentioned in this post.
Tumblr media
Fresh is very naive, probably easily used. which is in my opinion is also implied here-
Tumblr media
So It'll make sense that they would start to emulate others behavior to protect himself partly because he learned the hard way to never trust anyone.
But you could go back to the comic with another idea- scenario B, The human did seem really excited about Fresh gaining consciousness, So maybe they acted as a parent figure, and it actually was nice for awhile.
Like maybe they taught him anything they thought would be important for a parasite, (which goes along with him not knowing about sex/love, the human may had thought- why would parasites need to know bout that when they reproduce asexually) but maybe still by instinct from some incident the human died/was used as a host, which brings us back to scenario A ideas.
And you then scenario C, maybe it was a mix of of both the other scenarios.
All three scenarios could also work with why Fresh thinks their better than everyone else, scenario A Fresh only saw the worst in others, and scenario B The human might've acted like they themselves were smarter than others being a scientist and all.
Short answer! I think it was spent in a lab with a human that run experiments on them until the human died/was used as a host, then Fresh had to learned everything in life the hard way from there.
Keep in mind that I probably haven't seen every post about Fresh, so there might be posts by CQ that contradicts everything I just said lmao.

New Muse: Trinket
Tumblr media
[Bio and other information below the cut!]
Type of Character & Fandom/Source Material: Water-induced progeny of Gizmo of the movies Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch
FC: Trinket as himself! XD
Race: Mogwai
Age: Just a few weeks, but don’t be fooled by him being young. Mogwai have what’s called “memory accumulation” down their generations, meaning that they are created with all the previous memories and knowledge of their ancestors. That’s how mogwai are “born” already talking and seem to know quite a bit about the world.
Family: His parent, Gizmo:
Tumblr media
Potentially Triggering Material in Threads: Stealing, pranking, mockery... although Trinket is pretty benign with the majority of his shenanigans.
Negative Personality Traits: He’s impulsive, a kleptomaniac, he overeats, and he enjoys engaging in general mischief and tomfoolery.
Positive Personality Traits: He can be affectionate and helpful, and he would defend Gizmo if anyone bothered him.
Background: Gizmo ran outside to play one evening when his box was left open, and well... it started to rain. Trinket was the resulting consequence of Gizmo getting a bit wet. He lived with Gizmo at Mr. Wing’s Chinatown shop as well, but did not have as much freedom as Gizmo due to his decidedly more mischievous ways.
Personality: Trinket can be lovable and he’s very intelligent, like Gizmo, but he’s a lot more mischievous and gets into way more trouble. He tries more than Gizzy to bend the “rules” as well. However, he is not mean-spirited like Stripe, Mohawk, or some of Gizmo’s other progeny have been. Trinket is simple more likely to cause trouble, but he doesn’t like to hurt anybody.
THE “RULES” OF CARING FOR A MOGWAI There are three basic rules to caring for a mogwai:
Do not expose them to bright light. Bright light will scare them very badly, sometimes to the point of adverse health effects, and sunlight can kill them... with disgusting results.
Do not get them wet. Mogwai can clean themselves and do not need baths. They get all of their moisture from the foods they eat, so they should not even be given water to drink. If you get them wet in any way, they will reproduce asexually via budding off small balls of fur from their backs, each of which will grow into another adult mogwai within minutes.
Never – no matter how much they beg, no matter how much they cry – never… ever feed them after midnight. If you allow a mogwai to eat after midnight, the unthinkable will occur. They will begin to pupate, and will eventually emerge from their cocoons as gremlins… vicious, nasty, dangerous creatures.
I will try to have the “rules” revealed or made apparent to your muse early on in the RP, since Trinket’s speech is limited and he can’t convey them easily himself. And also because he will try to bend the rules. It is somewhat in the nature of a mogwai to be mischievous, and if you tell them not to do something, they will often want to do that very thing. So telling him he cannot eat after midnight isn’t enough. Your muse will have to actively keep him from the food, or deal with the consequences. XD
Verses and Potential Starter Ideas:
Chinatown Verse - Does your muse frequent a Chinatown setting? Do they like curio or antique shops? They can meet Trinket there! Maybe something has happened to Mr. Wing and Trinket needs a new home? Or maybe Trinket’s current owner can no longer take care of him and begs your muse to take up the responsibility?
Pet Store Verse - Trinket has either been abducted from Mr. Wing or another guardian, or he has been forced out on his own and then captured. Either way, he’s been placed for sale at a pet shop! Maybe your muse could take pity on him and bring him home?
Laboratory Verse - Pretty much the same as the Pet Store Verse, but he’s been captured for the purpose of laboratory experimentation! Will your muse help him escape?
Mystery Package Verse - Does your muse own a house or apartment or other sort of semi-permanent residence? Well then… maybe someone rings their doorbell or knocks on their door one day and when they answer, all they see is a box. The box is singing… and moving.
Wandering Mogwai Verse - In this verse, Trinket could have escaped from a Chinatown location or a pet store and is on his own, potentially looking for a friend and/or protector. This would likely occur after the death of Mr. Wing or whatever guardian he previously had. He would have to keep himself covered with something and hide during the daytime hours because of his severe allergy to sunlight, but other than that, he can encounter other muses in almost any setting. He could be in a city, in a park, he could have hitched a ride on a bus, etc.
Gremlin Verse (?) - One way to go with Trinket is to let him eat after midnight and have him turn into a gremlin. In most cases, I prefer not to do this and to keep the muse a mogwai. But if you want to try to pitch to me why I should let him turn, you certainly can try to convince me. XD
MCU Verse - Trinket joining the Avengers or the Guardians of the Galaxy? Yes please! XD
Fun facts:
Trinket loves sweet or salty snack foods. You will most likely find him eating (and stealing) foods like candies, chips, crackers, pretzels, and cookies. Here he is in my snack cabinet and trying to pilfer various other tasty things:
Tumblr media
Trinket is a known escape artist. He knows how to open doors and will try to escape to go on adventures if you don’t keep your eye on him. This could be dangerous, especially if it’s daylight outside! I caught him trying to leave my house just the other night:
Tumblr media
This is his, “What? Not me!” expression. XD

My Oriented Aroace Headcanons From 8 Fandoms
Oriented Aroace is an aspec identity where someone does not experience sexual or romantic attraction but experience other forms of attraction in a way that causes another nonaspec label describing sexuality to feel significant enough to have a place alongside one’s aroace identity. For more information on this term, here is the info page on the oriented aroace subreddit and here is the wiki page on it.
Headcanon is a subbranch of fanon, meaning headcanon is something generally not accepted as canon but some fans choose to believe about the original content. In the queer community, it is common to headcanon characters as queer. Sometimes it’s with good reason, sometimes it’s just because we like the characters, sometimes it’s because we see something of ourselves within the characters.
Here are some of my oriented aroace headcanons.
1. Sai (Naruto)
Tumblr media
This is by far my favorite aroace headcanon but I don’t talk about it much because I don’t want to support the stereotype that aromantics are heartless or that asexuals are traumatized. In Naruto Shippuden, Sai is a character who does not experience emotions after an illegal black ops organization killed his brother and brain washed him. He does, however, recover his emotions and learns to be very in touch with them. In Boruto, he is married to Ino and has a son named Inojin.
I headcanon Sai as pan-oriented aroace, possibly demialterous as well, but he experiences some degree of internalized homophobia and aphobia which leads him to pursue a romantic relationship with Ino. I don’t doubt that he loves her, he definitely does but I don’t think he loves her in the same way that she loves him. I wrote about this for Aromantic Writing Month. I believe that Sai initially started courting Ino because that was what was expected of him. Ino went along with it because she is attracted to him. At some point she probably realized Sai doesn’t quite feel the same way as her but they talked about it and continued their relationship as a allo-aspec qpr.
2. Rook Blonko (Ben 10)
Tumblr media
Rook Blonko is Ben’s (work) partner in Ben 10: Omniverse. He is an alien from the planet Revonnah. When we see his homeplanet, we learn that he is very attractive by Revonnahgander and all the local girls are interested in him but he is bothered by it, only showing affection for one girl named Rayona. They end up dating later in the series. A couple villains show interest in Rook as well and he is usually bothered by it or has mixed feelings with no desire for reciprocation.
I headcanon him as hetero-angled aroace, specifically gray/ frayromantic and acespike. Gray romanticism means that someone is aromantic but can experience some kind of limited romantic attraction or experiences romantic attraction under specific circumstances. Frayromantic is essentially the opposite of demiromantic. Someone may experience romantic attraction that fades as they get to know the other person. Acespike means that someone is asexual but can sometimes experience spikes of sexual attraction.
If you have seen the show, you may know where my thoughts are coming from. Rook mostly shows romantic interest in Rayona before they start dating. Once they’re in a relationship, their feelings seem very platonic and their relationship is much like a qpr. This may be because of their age, lack of experience, or their culture but I’d like to imagine that Rayona feels the same way as Rook and they are in a qpr.
The only other character Rook has shown interest in is Isosceles Vreedle. He is briefly attracted her during a battle but doesn’t seem to have any intent on acting on his feelings (presumably because he is in a relationship). He seems to be aware that this is out of character for him, which leads me to believe that he is acespike.
3. Alain (Pokémon)
Tumblr media
Alain is the star of the Mega Evolution specials and Ash’s main rival in the Kalos League. I headcanon him as gay-oriented aroace.
I don’t have much of a reason for this. Headcanons don’t necessarily need reasons but I’m still going to try to explain this one.
He never has any romantic interests in the show, probably because we don’t see much of him and his story is very focused on his Pokémon training. There are many characters who are solely focused on Pokemon training and that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re aroace but with Alain, I can’t really see him ever wanting to settle down or pursue a relationship though and he doesn’t seem like a women’s man.
His perfect life is retiring young from a decent battle career on a Pokemon ranch where he works as a Pokemon professor, giving out starter pokemon and providing a place for trainers to send their pokemon when their parties are full. He won’t have many visitors but maybe he’ll have a close companion to keep him company and help out with any projects he’s working on.
4. Toph (Avatar: The Last Airbender/ The Legend Of Korra)
Tumblr media
Toph is Aang’s earthbending teacher in ATLA, the founder of metalbending in the comics, and Lin and Suyin’s mother in TLOK. I headcanon her as sapphic or trixic-oriented aroace.
Sapphic and trixic are both non-exclusive terms for attraction to women but sapphic is specifically for women and trixic is for non-binary people. Canonically, Toph is a girl but she is very free spirited and independent and I feel like she wouldn’t let something like gender limit her.
In TLOK, Toph does mention that she tried to have relationships with Lin and Suyin’s fathers but it didn’t really work out. I imagine that Toph is sex favorable and likes sex as kind of a fun way to enjoy herself but does not experience sexual attraction nor does she feel a need to have regular partners. Similar goes for romance. She is romance-indifferent but does not like it much.
The lesbian Toph headcanon is a popular one. Not really sure why but Toph seems like a ladies’ woman. She likes to have her fun and she just finds women to be better companions than men in these aspects. She doesn’t get attatched easily though and she’s not really into the commitment.
5. Korvo (Solar Opposites)
Tumblr media
Again, I feel like this plays into a stereotype that I don’t want to support but these are my headcanons and I will do with them as I want. Korvo is an alien who is having a hard time adjusting to living on Earth. We know that his species has no biological sex and do not reproduce sexually but many of them choose genders, enjoy sexual activity, and pursue romantic relationships. I headcanon Korvo as bi-oriented aroace, possibly bi-electio aroace.
I have not seen the most recent season but in season 1, Korvo is mostly uninterested in anything outside of returning the ship. We have seen him in real no romantic contexts but he and Terry are co-parents of sorts. We also see him in a couple of sexual contexts. When he got zapped by a ray that removed his intelligence, he tried humping Terry and when he and Terry tried going to college, he remained on his side of his and Terry’s shared bed when Terry brought home sexual partners.
I don’t think Terry and Korvo are in a relationship or a qpr but am not completely opposed to the idea. My point was just that we know he isn’t repulsed by the idea of doing traditionally romantic or sexual things with someone who is masculine in nature. I think he could also appreciate what a woman brings to the table, as seen when he built a robot to fulfill the role of wife and mother in the house.
I don’t think Korvo is interested in a relationship but he does value the companionship and wouldn’t be unhappy with a partner. He may struggle to maintain a partnership but I don’t think gender would be much of a factor.
6. Todd Chavez (BoJack Horseman)
Tumblr media
Todd is BoJack’s off-and-on best friend/ roommate. Canonically, he is asexual and heteroromantic (presumably, all we know for sure is that he is alloromantic). I headcanon him as straight-oriented aroace, specifically heteroqueerpatonic and panplatonic.
I love that Todd is canonically asexual and I appreciate that they showed an asexual character who is not aromantic. But, all of Todd’s relationships have that queerplatonic vibe. When he described the kind of relationship he wanted with Emily, it didn’t sound like a romantic relationship. What he had with Yolanda certainly wasn’t romantic. Maybe it was just the writing but Todd seemed most happy when his relationship resembled a qpr. When he was dating Maude, the lines between romance and friendship were blurry and they seemed very happy, and that included not doing traditionally romantic things like getting married.
I could also see Todd as greyromantic. For him, I feel like having a label isn’t really that big of a deal. Being able to say he was asexual was a big deal for him but he just wants to be himself and find whatever makes him happy. Sex and a traditional romantic relationship don’t really seem to be a part of that.
7. Silver Surfer (Marvel Comics)
Tumblr media
Again, this isn’t one I talk about much because I don’t want to support the stereotype that aromantics or asexuals are inhuman or lacking emotion. Before becoming the Silver Surfer, Norrin Radd is in a relationship on his home planet and he does express interest in a few women after becoming the Silver Surfer. I headcanon him as straight-oriented aroace.
Some of it may have to do with Galactus’s interference. Maybe not. The Surfer doesn’t need sex or romance (no one does but you catch my drift) but he doesn’t really want it either. Sometimes it is portrayed from a sense of duty but we don’t really know what he’s feeling. He’s been one of my favorite characters for years so I may just be projecting but it feels right.
He can get lonely. He wants a companion but I don’t think he’d want a romantic one or even a queerplatonic partner. He’d be most happy with a friend and he’d get all the fulfillment he needs from one. A romantic partner might be a bit too much.
8. Gina Linetti (Brooklyn 99)
Tumblr media
Gina is Jake’s childhood friend, Captain Holt’s assistant, and Boyle’s... something. I’ve seen a lot of headcanons that she is pansexual but I headcanon her as heteroflexible-oriented aroace.
Gina, like Toph, is just kind of doing her own thing. I feel like she’d be sex favorable and romance indifferent. Sex is fun, relationships are alright, she’s just living her best life. Men are nice, women are too. She’s just living life and rocking with whatever rolls her way.
When she has her daughter, she does want to settle down a bit but not with a man. She loves the kid and steps up to her new responsibility but she doesn’t let it change her. She’s still as wild and free and she doesn’t want or need anyone.

i wanna talk about what i think the prototypes and clones in hlvrai are.
why?
because i can.
-BUBBY’S “PROTOTYPES” sooo let’s first talk about what Bubby IS. “Bubby”s is Black Mesa’s project of creating life! not in a frankenstien-esk way but like creating life from growing them inside tubes and shit. I wouldn’t go into detail because, even though I love some science every once and awhile, I am not an expert! but I’m sure every reader gets the jist.  Black Mesa didn’t get Bubby right the first time, or the next time, or the next, or the one after that, etc. and they terminated the first thousand failed results because either they were so badly disfigured and/or mutated that they had to put them out of their misery or the scientists just fucked up real bad and the subject died right then and there. Then a real fucked up Subject got loose in the facility.  This Subject isn’t as disfigured the many others before it, but it’s properties it gained from it’s failed tests led to the creation of a hive-mind society living in the deepest depths of Black Mesa. The Subject has the ability to asexually reproduce, similar to mitosis but they have to tear chunks of their flesh/muscle out of their bodies to create more of themselves. The chunks of flesh expand, more muscle and bone forming from the piece of the progenitor. All Prototypes are created with clothes on, but the difference between the og Subject and the following Prototypes is that the clothes are connected to the Prototypes whilst The Subject stole the clothes to wear.  Prototypes travel in groups, similar to some predators like Wolves and Lions. They are not territorial but different groups fight to death sometimes, Why? For fun. The Subject was created long before Bubby’s existence, so it’s dead. Prototypes can die just as easily as they are created, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t dangerous.
-COOMER CLONES Dr. Harold P. Coomer is not human. He never was. disregarding the fact that is in a video game.  Coomer has mentioned his Super-body parts and organs before, leading us to the conclusion that Harold is a cyborg! and so are his clones! Coomer Clones are all apart of a hive-mind like ai system created by Black Mesa to help with the lack of staff and actual scientists. Ever Coomer clone has the same programming as every other clone! Same personality but set with different tasks. They are mere robots to use as tools to set forth more tests and experiments. The difference between Dr. Harold Coomer and the other clones is that his programming started to glitch within the events of HLVRAI and he gains sentience. his TRUE sentience comes when he realizes this is all a game. Whenever someone kills a Coomer Clone, Dr. Coomer sometimes says: “My power GROWS, Gordon!” this means that with every Clone down, he is one step closer to gain access to the Coomer Clone hive-mind. When the last clone is killed, Harold reaches his full potential and to show this, he hacks into his own programming and allows himself to use the “FORBIDDEN SCIENCE.” Every time Dr. Coomer cuts himself off mid-sentence, it’s him actually glitching out and struggling to stay in control. Gordon sleeping/the gaming being turned off doesn’t help him ease the pain.  The Coomer Clone ambush scene isn’t actually Dr. Harold Coomer doing these things. It’s the Coomer Hive-mind trying to take back control and end their journey, corrupting Harold. The Hive-Mind programming can access all Coomer Clone thoughts and memories, and even consciousnesses can be transferred from one Coomer Clone to the other. This is how Harold reappears after the attack, bloodied because he inhabited a dead Coomer clone body. this is also why he knows that the clones tried to wear Gordon as a puppet. Why did they want to try and do that? Maybe to get out of Black Mesa? Dunno.
-BUBBY CLONES (my own idea!) Other than the Prototypes, there are other Bubbys out there! i got the idea from @/batz post, and i talked about it a bit in this post.  I think different Bubbys would exist in Black Mesa, since there must be more projects to perfect a Bubby. They don’t have to scientists but they sure as hell can exist! Different test tube water with different properties would be used to give the successful subjects personality and abilities!  They all act and talk different but their appearances all stay the same. Why? because Black Mesa didn’t want to waste money trying to make different faces.  “We already have an old man face why can’t we use that?” There are no limitations to the Bubbys! They’re their own person! Let them live! except don’t get out of hand with this concept. Don’t make a freak Bubby. You know what I mean.  I guess you could call these Bubby-sonas? I have no idea but they’re based off of Bubly flavors!  If you ever want to create your own Bubby, go ahead! I don’t mind! Just please credit me for the concept and @. me! I’d love to see what you guys come up with!
If you have read this all then i owe you my life. *mwah*

What Headcanons do you have for each character from Villainous? (Especially about BH and/or Demencia if you have more)
I’m really sorry for the very late answer, but as I wrote yesterday I was in a travel/ journey/trip or whatever word is lol I saw this before I left but I wanted to give you a good long answer instead of a short and fast one.
Flug
-He is german or icelandic
-His parents are villains (how else do you explain being in Black Hat’s academy at a shortage?)
- He could totally kill Demencia but BH prevents him to do so
- Because he has been a long time with BH he has been learning to act and even speak like him
- When he is angry he speaks in his native language (German or Icelandic)
- He is a cleaning and order obsessive
- He uses his bag because of a terrible accident, but it happened on the upper part of his face (this according to a twitter publication of one of the members of the crew, where it shows that Flug is able to grow a beard, that means the skin of the lower part of his face must be healthy)
- The accident affected his eyes and that’s why he always uses goggles.
- Flug has a mathematical kind of intelligence, very serious and calculating. Bad to communicate with others, but good to create and plan strategies.
Black Hat
- Black Hat really tries to speak in a very elegant way, but most of the times his temper takes the best of him and thats why he ends talking with mexican insults
- drugs doesnt affect him and thats why he considers them boring and prohibited in the mansion
- Black Hat knows how the human mind works so to trick people he can pretend to have human emotions (like that only time he acted romantically with demencia or kind with 5.0.5)
- He likes to spy his minions, thats why there are so many portraits of him around the house, to keep an eye on them.
- As part of the last one. BH can totally see what demencia is doing thanks to the puppet she made with his form. (then, I think BH is closer to demencia than the other minions of the house).
- He almost never changes his clothes and when he does, is in a very little way is difficult to notice.
- He does a lot of human activities because of boredom like playing golf or drinking coffee (yeah I know this one is canon but I believe he does even more human activities we haven’t seen).
- BH can totally have sex but he doesnt feel anything with it so that’s why he considers it boring too and only uses it to trick or kill people.
- His only pleasure in life is doing evil so maybe raping is the only way he could feel something while doing sex (of course Im sure this one will never be confirmed in the show xD)
- He is like a god
- BH wants someone to replace him, to be as evil as him to conquer the world in his name (because he does no longer have the motivation).
- BH could easily reproduce (sexual or asexually) but what would be the fun in that? He prefers to train his future replacement from the beginning (I think Flug is the chosen one and also the reason 5.0.5 was created in the first place)
- He is talented with music, he can sing and also play any instrument he wants…but it has to be an evil instrument (like the violin or the organ which are instruments related to villains or the devil).
- BH can manage all the different kinds of intelligence, but he only uses them according to the situation
Demencia
- She totally has dementia
- She has a nasty appetite, like an animal, or even worst
- She is a cannibal, and BH totally adores that.
- She is also talented with music. She can play the guitar and also sing well.
- She steals from Black Hat, especially his clothes. BH knows, but he doesn’t care.
- Any weapon she uses can be lethal. She could kill you even with a spoon.
- Despite not taking showers she takes good care of her appearance.
- Raccoons are the only one animals she like, she fights with any other kind she finds.
- Demencia has the social kind of intelligence, energetic and extrovert. Can communicate and understand with others easily, in that way she can trick them and even kill them without problem
- She reads magazines and comics (those inspire her to start drawing)
- Her parents are probably dead or don’t know where she is so is very improbable to see them in the show (they could be heroes or even agents but that’s more of a theory that a headcanon).
- She was a normal human before BH transformed her into what she is now
- In the same style of the Joker and Herley Quinn, Demencia probably was a good person but she fell in love with BH to the point she lost any contact with reality.
- Her room is that place with the big window you can see from outside the mansion.
- She can sleep anywhere, like a cat.
I don’t have any HC for 5.0.5, sorry. I don’t think much about him, mostly because he is a very simple character so I don’t find very much room for theories or ideas. He was created by Flug in a lab, from BH’s DNA and he is a cinnamon roll who can’t kill, not even a fly…So yeah, not much to think about.
mmm … My only HC is that he has the same powers of BH but he probably will not release them until he gets really angry, but, being the coward he is, that probably won’t happen in a long time.

Y’know, I could spend today doing somethin productive like working on the novel I started or playing Overwatch or working on my DnD campaign but as I speak about my DnD Campaign, and as there have been an influx of Big Bang Theory posts on my dash for some reason I have a very stupid post to write and a very important question to ask -
Why doesn’t Penny like Dungeons and Dragons?
I mean - I know why, cuz she’s the ‘normal’ chick among ‘omg adorkable nerds who are also terrible people and she must make them normal more’ but as a serious character question, why doesn’t Penny like Dungeons and Dragons?
She’s an actress. DnD is very easily improv acting. She pays for acting lessons, but the best lesson is doing and the improv of DnD would not only be something that would be way cheaper, but she should be loving it. It’s a great way to have fun and a greast way to
Other side questions - Why does Bernadette waste her one DnD episode making fun of Sheldon and Amy and doing ‘love spell’ shit? She’s a goddamn scientist, Amy too for that matter. Why would Bernadette waste her time on pithy love spell shit, when she’s playing a fucking wizard? She has puzzles to solve and biological input to utilize for said puzzles, DnD is so perfect for unconventional ideas and you would think that would make everything way more interesting, how is there a DnD episode with the girls thAT GETS THIS MUCH WRONG AND USES NO POSSIBILITIES WHATSOEVER?
Fuck Chuck Lorre. Has he even played DnD in his life? NBC nearly cut the entire DnD Episode of Community altogether for no fucking reason, Dan Harmon didn’t even know why, that was an actually good episode and good game of DnD, and you know they wanted to cancel it because it wasn’t like Lorre’s brainless, scathing mockery of bullying bullshit, Fuck Chuck Lorre.
Extra Sidenote - Why does Amy need to be the butt of sex jokes in an episode about Dungeons and Dragons? It’s goddamn Dungeons and Dragons, having sex is skipped over with an ‘you spent the night together, roll to see if you take a point of exhaustion/lose HP because you decided to do freaky shit’.
Though, as a sidenote, I did really love the aspect of Sheldon and Amy progressing that way through DnD because he’s clearly more comfortable that way, says so, and it expresses a genuine want to be with Amy, which is not something Sheldon does very often, it was a really intimate thing, sexual or not. And even if he just flat-out said he’s uncomfortable, that would’ve been a great interjection for him to have made after the stupid love-spell shit because it would be exerting his asexuality as well as defending Amy and yes, he’s a brick and would’ve gone with the ‘no, i don’t want to have sex with you, frankly i find the entire thing disgusting and necessary, the world is already reproducing at a rate of [such and such percentage] and when she gets upset, he can add ‘but it’s not you.’ And she can be all ‘It’s just hard to think of myself as your girlfriend sometimes, it feels like you don’t want me’ and he would go ‘Amy, my time is valuable, and I reserve it for only the most important of subjects - science, socializing with my friends in the other room, chronicling the entire series of Doctor Who in chronological order, I have a fascinating timeline so far, the Doctor could, in theory, be all of them at once-’ [Camera cuts to her face, she’s bracing for disappointment] ‘But I wouldn’t make time for you, or rearrange those times, if you weren’t my’ [he stops for a second, because it’s the first time he’s said this word, and it’s an odd concept because his assumptions of relationships are valid, they are wasteful but he doesn’t consider his time with Amy wasteful, he just said so, and there’s no other definition that fits what they are, so, gently, accepting the idea, and to her face] ‘girlfriend.’ There, heartfelt, still keeps the context, a resolution while also keeping Sheldons lack of empathy/social interaction while not making him a complete asshole, but I digress, i have too much intellectual investment in a show I don’t even watch anymore because SHIT LIKE THIS-
There. I just fixed your entire show, Chuck Lorre. I just fixed all of this bullshit Nerd Gatekeeping Culture you decided to work with because it’s funny that these guys aren’t masculine and are all weird and gangley and it comes as no surprise considering the ‘nerd’ main character you wrote in Two And A Half Men [because let’s face it, Alan is supposed to be a losery nerd compared to the walking human mess that is his brother] and I don’t think you’ve been a nerd for a second of your life because this is some Basic Ass Nerd Bro shit that I fixed in the span of a fucking tumblr post.
Fuck you, Chuck Lorre.

Did Noah’s Flood happen? Short answer: No.
Is Noah’s flood possible as it is described in the Torah/Bible? Let’s do some calculations to see how feasible keeping two of every animal on the ark for 40 days would be:
First off, after doing some research, it seems that the Torah/Bible itself is confused about how long the flood lasted and how many of each animal was brought on the ark. I’m going to go with the classic “40 days and 40 nights” and two of every animal, a male and a female, so that they could reproduce.
Allow me to use estimates that are in favor of the existence of the flood as it is described.
From the Torah, the ark dimensions are 300 cubits x 50 cubits x 30 cubits. 1 cubit is at most 20 inches. Our ark is 500 ft x 83.3 ft x 50 ft. Giving us a volume of 2,082,500. I am going to assume that this entire volume is available for the animals.
To have some reference:
Empire state building (without antenna):
1,250 ft x 424 ft x 187 ft, V=99,110,000 ft^3
Largest oil tanker:
1,504 ft x 226 ft x 34 ft, V=11,556,736 ft^3
Titanic:
882 ft x 92 ft x 34 ft, V=2,758,896 ft^3
The titanic held about 3,327 passengers, which is about 830 ft^3 per person not including any cargo/machinery.
Back to the ark:
We have identified over 1,500,000 species in the animal kingdom on earth. Estimates of the total number are much higher, but to be generous, we will only use the ones we know of.
An estimated 50-80% of all life on earth lives in the ocean, and so would not need to be put on the ark.
Again being generous, we assume there are only 300,000-750,000 species of animals that live on land and need to go on the ark.
Two of each animal means we need space for 600,000-1,500,000 animals.
If we divide the space evenly between each animal, not including food or water needed for them, we get 1.39 ft^3 - 3.47 ft^3 per animal.
But let’s assume each invertebrate (bug) needs only 2 in^3 (0.00116 ft^3) of space.
About 90% of all animals are invertebrates.
540,000-1,350,000 invertebrates would then need a total of 626 ft^3 - 1,566 ft^3 of space.
This leaves 2,081,874 ft^3 - 2,080,934 ft^3 for our remaining 60,000-150,000 vertebrates giving 13.9 ft^3 - 34.7 ft^3 for each animal.
This looks pretty good until we consider that this number does not include space for all the food and water for the animals for 40 days. Let’s assume that the ark is able to collect enough rainwater every day for all the animals and that all of the animal waste is thrown in the ocean. That leaves a 40 day supply of food for each animal left to bring on the ark. We also need to assume that they bring on enough food to keep the animals healthy since the carnivores will likely go without food for a while since the herbivores need enough time to breed and bring their populations back up.
One elephant eats at least 200 lbs food per day. How much space does 200 lbs grass take up? It’s hard to find numbers for that, so let’s assume they could condense the food the way we can in modern times when we make emergency rations. A 1 lb ration pack takes up 21 in^3 = 0.012 ft^3. A one day supply of 200 lbs for our elephant takes up 2.4 ft^3. A 40 day supply takes up 96 ft^3. This is well beyond the allotted 34.7 ft^3 the elephant gets.
Of course the smaller animals would not need the full 34.7 ft^3 for themselves and all their food, but even medium size animals may not have enough room for themselves. Horses need at least 15 lbs of hay per day, and we will assume this is the same for zebras and other horse-like animals. Their 40 day supply of 600 lbs of food takes up 7.2 ft^3, leaving at most 27.5 ft^3 for each horse. An average horse is about 5 ft tall, 8 ft long, and maybe 1.5 ft wide. This means that just the horse has a volume of about 60 ft^3, so there is no way any of the horse-like animals will be able to fit in their allotted space with their food. This is also not even considering that there needs to be room for hallways for Noah’s family to move through to take care of the animals.
I must admit, I am not the first one to look at these numbers and realize that there is no way for one family to keep and take care of two of every animal for 40 days on one boat. It’s clear that the ancient people who wrote this story didn’t have any idea of just how many species we have. They were likely limited to a few hundred animals they could find in the middle east, and the dimensions given for the ark would likely be much larger than any structure they had ever seen built.
But creationists and many religious people insist that the Torah/Bible is divine word, and that there must be an answer to these problems. Answers in Genesis, a prominent creationist website, insists that instead of two of every animal, only two of every ‘kind’ of animal was brought on the ark. What is a ‘kind’? Nobody knows. Creationists have not been able to come up with a formal definition for a ‘kind’, likely because it doesn’t make any sense, but regardless they insist kinds can be easily identified. They use examples like how every wolf, coyote, and domestic dog is part of the ‘dog kind’, and so Noah would only need to bring two wolves on his ark. But we run into a problem when we try to decide which ‘kind’ animals like the fox, the echidna, and other such strange animals belong to.
In any case, Answers in Genesis quotes a book called “Noah’s Ark: A Feasibility Study” by John Woodmorappe, a creationist who says he has a Bachelor’s degree in biology but he doesn’t say where he got it and I can’t look him up because that’s not his real name. Since I am in my third year of a Biological Engineering bachelor’s degree program in an accredited University, I like to think I have more credibility than him. He also claims to be a high school biology teacher, which really gets my blood boiling.
John says that if we use ‘kind’ instead of species, then there would only be 16,000 total animals on the ark. How did he come up with this number? I have no idea, and I’m not going to actually give him money to get access to his book, so I guess those calculations will remain a mystery.
Using the 16,000 number, there would be 130 ft^3 for each animal, and assuming each animal eats as much as the horse we calculated for earlier, it still leaves 122.8 ft^3 for each animal.
So now we have enough space for each animal, so the next question is what happens to the animals after they leave the ark.
I already mentioned that the carnivores would be in trouble. If they started eating the herbivores, it would be mutually assured extinction. However, they wouldn’t be able to go without food for the years it would take for the herbivore populations to be sufficiently large. Answers in Genesis proposes that the carnivores could eat the rotting corpses of all the animals that were left behind. This may delay the problem, but it wouldn’t fix it. There is a reason carnivores generally do not eat dead, rotting meat like detritivores; it’s because dead meat becomes a breeding ground for bacteria. The bacteria breaking down the meat is the reason it rots. Carnivores do not have the bacteria in their digestive systems necessary for eating rotten meat. A carnivore that is desperate for food might eat a rotten corpse, but that animal would die soon after from a bacterial infection. Carnivores are also not able to survive on a diet of plants like omnivores, as they can’t digest the plant matter and so will not get the nutrients they need to survive. There would, however, be plenty of marine life available to the carnivores, and surely a starving animal would eat anything they could, but this still is not adequate, as many carnivores are just not able to hunt in the ocean.
There is another problem we are faced with, and that has to do with genetic bottlenecking. This is when there are too few of a species so they are no longer able to carry on the population. Let’s say that we have only two wolves on the entire planet. These two are able to reproduce and have a litter of 5 puppies. Well now those puppies have no other wolves to breed with except their siblings, and any offspring born from incest will have horrible health problems and will likely be infertile. Thus are wolves will go extinct in a matter of generations. This would be true of every one of the 16,000 animals that were brought on the ark. From this point, many people will wonder how we could have so many animals if the theory of abiogenesis (the current, best supported theory to explain the origin of life) proposes that all life came from just one organism. The answer to this question is quite simple, as we believe the first life was a mere self-replicating group of molecules whose offspring would have been identical. Many single-celled organisms reproduce asexually, which means that they can make an offspring all by themselves. As we go to more complex organisms, what we see is an individual may be born with a genetic mutation that makes it different to the others in its population, but it is still similar enough to reproduce with the others. It takes a long time for mutations to pile up and the population has two groups that slowly lose the ability, over generations, to reproduce with each other. A more direct form of speciation occurs when there is a geographical barrier, such as a piece of land becoming an island, and the isolated population is large enough to sustain themselves as they mutate and change.
But in the scenario where only two of each ‘kind’ were brought on the ark, we would not be able to avoid genetic bottlenecking, as there are only a few animals we know of that can reproduce asexually, and with each ‘kind’ being so dissimilar, the animals would not be able to reproduce out of their ‘kind’. So even if two of every ‘kind’ were kept alive on the ark, it would take mere decades for all animals on earth to die off. Our only hope would be the very few number of animals we know of that can create genetic clones, so maybe Noah’s flood would make sense if our Earth was populated by humans, marine life, and some all-female herbivorous lizard clones.
I wanted to go back to where these creationists insist that from one ‘kind’ of an animal we can get many different species, I mean ‘varieties’, of that animal. Let’s look at bears, and assume that two grizzly bears were brought on the ark and were able to magically acquire the ability to successfully breed a new population. How would this population of grizzly bears give rise to polar bears? From what I know about biology, I would supposed that a few grizzly bears migrated north to an area that got a lot of snowfall. Then one day a baby grizzly bear is born with a genetic mutation that causes its fur to have no pigment rather than the typical brown pigment. That bear would have an advantage to its siblings because it would be better camouflaged in the snowy landscape and so could sneak up on prey better. Since that bear is well-fed, it would have many offspring, most if not all of which would have the genetic mutation that codes for non-pigmented fur from their parent. Those white bears would be again be more successful than the brown bears and the process would repeat until you are left with a population of white grizzly bears. Oh wait, I just described evolution! Dang it, I was supposed to be describing it the way a creationist would. I guess another way it could happen is god reaches his hand down and plucks up a few grizzly bears, turns them white, gives them more fat, and puts them down in the arctic.
But wait, some of you may be surprised by what I said. The process I described was evolution? But what about the sudden appearance of a new animal? What about the lightning striking mud to make living goo?
Actually, evolution is defined as the change in allele frequency in a population due to selection pressures over time. That means that organisms randomly acquire mutations and are more successful or less successful in breeding than their competitors due to that mutation, and thus pass on or do not pass on their mutation to their offspring. That’s it, end of story.
Creationists often seem to be confused, or try to confuse, people about what evolution means. The theory of evolution does not include speciation, it does not include abiogenesis. They want to muddy up the waters so that it’s difficult to understand what they are talking about because they don’t care about the truth, they care about people believing in them.
So that’s it, this was a fun little thing to do, but I hope I was able to educate some people or at least let people see things in a new perspective. My numbers are pretty rough, but again I gave every advantage to creationists. I also simplified many concepts so that I could just get the point across, not teach an entire biology course. Know that I don’t have a problem with religious people, I have a problem with the religious people that manipulate and lie to try to make reality fit with their religious documents. I am totally open to answering questions or hearing your thoughts on all this. I am also open to new ideas, but know that I have heard just about every creationist argument and am prepared to refute them with hard data. I do have a formal biology education, as well as a personal interest, so I have a lot of biology knowledge and am always willing to learn more. Thanks a bunch if you stuck around this long!

alright so i have. a lot of questions and thoughts on changeling physiology
tldr it’s quite unorganized so; asexual reproduction, shifting is a natural instinct but can be expanded through study and discipline, Form is easier to reproduce than Function, changelings passively absorb energy via background radiation, conservation of mass... ha, energy efficiency, regeneration is an aware but subdued/vulnerable state, you can sneak up on odo but not most changelings, exaggerated and inhuman movement, language and body language learning, Viscosity tm, vital organs exist, injury and physical tolerance, focusing the senses...
asexual reproduction. loads of possibilities here. they might split in two (which could mean they’re really all clones of one another or else slight variations on an original) or lob a bit of themselves off which then begins to form a new individual. they might fragment off and start growing more individuals from themselves until they’re mature enough to carry on, or they might produce spores!!! OR they might reproduce the way coral do. the main complication is that this is meant for simple or single-celled organisms and also maybe leaves them all more vulnerable to that Clone Problem of being wiped out by a single virus. but perhaps their ability to mimic other types of dna is involved in providing new individuals with a robust enough mix of original genes to be baseline Adaptable
also a problem with simple organisms is that they propagate Extremely quickly and tend to be short-lived and. unintelligent (think fruit flies) so - changelings could have a fair few ‘simple organism’ traits but are ofc complex in reality
the mimicry -- do they actually become the material?? if you scan a changeling as a rock, they have the make up of a rock. but what about more complex materials? or systems? like fire? that requires energy input. im gonna go with: 1. depends on skill level 2. some things like fire they can mimic visually, maybe even with proper light and heat, but does take energy to do so.
speaking of which HOW do they get energy. i think i rambled about this a little in another post, but basically im going with the idea that they’re sort of filter feeders on the dust of the universe... they’re just VERY energy-efficient and collecting these little bits of radiation being thrown around space is a passive activity. i.e. odo probs wouldnt even know he does it, even though he does it constantly.
um. conservation of mass. the biggest thing ive seen odo turn into is that blob-monster, which was maybe 10′x10′ ? 15 at most? large, but probably somewhat unstable, and not huge. the smallest thing in canon is probably the mouse. ive seen the idea that humanoid-formed odo might be. hollow? there’s no need for him to actually form internal organs or any of that, its all surface-level, and besides. if we’re going with the idea that they can reproduce Form more than Function, they wouldnt actually work. he doesnt even eat anyway, so why waste that kinda energy?
that said!! there are probably some basic object functions they can reproduce. im gonna say that maybe your average changeling isnt going to be able to make a microwave that actually microwaves (not without a great deal of practice and scientific understanding), but could more easily become a lamp, for instance, that does actually turn on. that means they have some ability for bioluminescence, but again that requires energy and would shorten the time they can hold that shape.
regeneration obvs. is a chance to re-acquire energy, but we’re told odo doesnt sleep - it’s still a resting state, but maybe he’s still at least somewhat aware of his surroundings, if a bit unable to focus. he certainly seems to still undergo thought processes, etc. but if attacked in this state, he’ll be quite vulnerable, esp if he’s just reached hour 16, but he wont be completely defenseless. WAY more likely to hide than retaliate though, esp depending on where in the cycle he happens to be at the time -- even if that werent also kinda his personality. maybe its like bein rly rly rly tired but ur brain wont keep quiet.
kinda enjoy the idea of changelings becoming a little translucent or misshapen when they zone out. it takes some effort, practice, skill to remain present. a habit!
im sure he doesnt really bother to maintain constant humanoid-shape unless someone’s likely to look at him. could see him MAYBE being caught unawares, on occasion, whoops. very rarely, but how embarrassing
on that note, if you’re able to sneak up on odo and surprise him, he might momentarily jump a little out of shape (like a cartoon, exaggerated). other emotions like disgust or haughtiness might come off a little exaggerated too
at large, humanoid body language is a learned language for changelings, even if they can pick it up very quickly
odo’s got his humanoid walk cycle down pretty good but probably not perfectly, actually. i sort of imagine it could be a little more flowing -- not always -- but if he’s doing something he normally doesnt do, he moves a little less like a human bc he hasnt practiced it enough
ok whats the viscosity of changelings? like..... really runny and liquidy? j.... jelly? i kinda refer back to single-celled organisms again. cytoplasm w control.
in fact odo probably has some very simple (or maybe very complex, considering, but able to disguise themselves accordingly. so simple-appearing?) organs going on in there as well as cytoplasm of some sort
they dont sweat, they dont bleed, they dont smell, they dont taste, they dont sleep
they DO see, hear, are tactile, and feel most emotions that humans do. some of that emotions stuff is cultural
losing a little tiny bit of themselves (injury, i.e., a bit chopped off by a weapon) probs doesnt really hurt much more than getting a scrape, but if u like chop em in half thats gonna be Bad. but most surface level damage is just like getting a haircut or something, no pain. re: that scene with odo stopping the turbolift like.... that could’ve been painful
FOCUS!! sight, sound, etc - im writing senses as things that dont necessarily need to be located in the. face. bc they dont. but im thinking odo tends to concentrate it of course to better interact with others. that means technically - he could. .. . ‘accumulate light sensors’ and see out the back of his head, for instance, even without forming eyes, but because odo’s odo and he’s really trying to fit in he usually wont do that sort of thing and you can still sneak up on him. sometimes he even forgets he can do that kind of thing, when he’s humanoid-formed (unless he’s startled -- then he might revert to more ‘natural’ reactions) - bc he really hasnt spent any time with his people at all
this doesnt even get into the Great Link and changelings being a little bit touch-psychic
another thought !! i like the idea of one limitation being that he has to have seen / experienced in-person / studied / encountered / been exposed to an object, person, or animal to really become it. that’s where skill comes in -- some things are going to come very naturally, like shapes that are common in the universe such as rocks or. plants, in star trek .  they can learn by description or by looking at images and making their best guess, but its not gonna be totally accurate. so - some shapes come from study, like humanoids, and others come more by instinct like rocks and dirt and water, like learning to talk.
so when did odo meet a klingon targ omg
also means they are instinctually EXCELLENT observers, both of material and behavior
but imagine a bird or smth speaking in odos voice yikes
speaking of speaking, odo speaks bajoran and doesnt really know any other languages on his own, except workable cardassian. i.e. he’d have to learn to speak seagull
what if bc odo’s learning and sort of stunted in skill bc of his upbringing and inhibitions his face is..... actually made of latex, sometimes, like when he needs to save energy he goes Low Poly Rendering cos its close enough, and easier, and he’s interacted with plenty of latex and other Made materials bc he’s hardly lived at all anywhere that wasnt built-up by life forms. (probs partly why he seems so interested in practicing other animals and plants -- natural shapes are not shapes he’s been as exposed to, so they’re more interesting - and dynamic - than say, furniture / appliances)
he gives off no body heat, but neither is he cold. room temp, with a wide tolerance
can survive in space and vacuums
they seem somewhat naturally stronger than humans, esp as a sturdy material
some of them can become a magnet, thats just aligning poles / can then reproduce some basic electronics functions
at least they seem to have pretty comparable intelligence to humans so that’s relatable

Aischylos
So I haven’t figured out the story setting completely yet, but it’s a fantasy world based on many mythos, mainly Greek ones. It’s a pseudo-modern world; think early 1900’s but without real-world events. Sorry it’s vague.
(Find the rest of this profile and the critique under the cut! -Kyo)
There’s 4 harpy clans (Aello, Ocypete, Calaeno, Podarge) which are run by the namesake leader as well as a council of warriors and shaman. Races aren’t important and are mainly for aethetic differences.
Aischylos’ flock in particular live on a lake connected to the ocean via a natural dam. Their camp is located on an island in the middle of the lake which is covered in huge, ancient trees. They live in nests but have tools and basic magic. In this world, harpies are a female-only species that asexually reproduce (like white tail lizards) and it’s VERY rare that a male is ever born. Due to this, males are seen as weak and omens and are usually abandoned at birth.
The design of the harpies are tall humanoids with bird legs who are completely covered in feathers except for the face and hands. The hands are clawed and the top part is covered in light scales. The skin and scales are the same colour usually. These harpies are able to change their arms into wings and only the more practiced ones can have both “out” at once. They have beaks for noses (think the Rito from Zelda?).
The basic premise of the story is: Among the harpy clans there is an ancient truth: Males are never born. But when Bethesda decides to keep her son, Aischeylos’ faces a life of danger and abuse from his fellow flock members. Nobody expects him to live up to his ancestor’s honour or even survive until adulthood.
For some backstory about the other mentioned characters; Bethesda is a leader in the flock and a rather stoic woman; Hero is the same age group and is also part of a famous bloodline, she’s spoilt and considers herself a good guy because of it; Polyxene is another of the same age group, she was born with 4 wings/arms and isolates herself because of it; Pallas is Aisch’s older sister and a rather famous warrior, she lives in another clan however; Velvet is Aisch’s childhood best friend and was born deaf; Hagne is the local “priestess” who seeks to correct the wrong of Aisch’s birth, by teaching him to be a good harpy.
His backstory is still largely a WIP, so sorry if it’s a bit vague.
Name: Aischylos (meaning Shame) Aliases: Aisch Gender: Male Sexual Orientation: Unknown/Bi? (harpies are weird in the way that they’re all basically aro-ace, but some have an interest in members of other species) Age: 21 years old Birthdate: 4th of September Occupation: Scout
Alignment: Neutral Group/Organizational Affiliations: Aello Clan
Family: Bethesda (mother), Pallas (older sister) Best Friends: Velvet Relationship Status: Single Significant Other: None Other Relationships: Hero (rival), Polyxene (enemy), Satyrion (friend), Hagne (mentor)
Height: 5'6" Weight: Underweight Build: Lithe/Light Skin Tone: Creamy-brown Hair: Dark mocha colour with darker tips Eyes: Amber Identifying Marks: Multiple scars including a missing claw, prominate dark stripes (markings). Appearance: Small, lithe male with shiny dark brown feathers that look rainbow in certain light (I can’t remember what this effect is called). He has a light cream underside and black-brown stripes on his back and wings. Has many scars including a large on across his face (forehead to down his nose and his left cheek), a missing claw on his right foot and a plucked chest which reveals many smaller scars obtained during his youth.
Personality: A curious but shy young harpy. He is nervous around others of his kind, but warms up quickly to strangers of another species. He is naturally cautious, but tends to be forgiving. Aggressiveness is not in his nature as he prefers to avoid a fight. He has a strong interest in humans and their technology. Due to his upbringing, he tends to be a loner, distancing himself from others for his own sake. He dislikes large groups and will usually hang out on his own or with Velvet. He’s nervous around essentric or loud people; instinctively afraid of them due to the bullying he’s suffered from Hero. Aisch is rather submissive as well, constantly apologizing for his mistakes even if he doesn’t make any. However, he’s not exactly self-loathing. Thanks to Hange’s teachings, he’s aware that others’ hatred of him stems from his gender, not who he is personally. Due to this, he tries to judge others based on their personality rather than what they look like.
Motivations: The reputation of his bloodline, his personal pride, the need to protect Velvet Current Goal: To be respected among his peers Life Goal: To uphold the family honour and escape the misandry of the clans. Ultimately to seat himself at the head of a clan council and prove himself worthy
Motto: “Life is about being the best you can be, even if it’s worse than the people around you. If you do your personal best, that’s all that matters.”
Best Quality: His curiosity and open-mindedness Worst Quality: His anxiety and paranoia Fears: -Bullies -The sea -Being alone -Storms -Lightning
Hobbies: Studying humans, collecting artifacts (usually human tools or artifacts from other mythos species), watching the lake
Talents: Flight- Due to a life of running away from bullies, he’s adept at flight; mainly turning sharp corners and flying through tight spaces. He’s able to pull up from a highspeed dive as well.
Skills: Stealth- His small size and mottled feather patterns allow him to hide easily in nature.
Secret: He often wishes he was born female and sometimes pretends to be one in secret or when playing with Velvet. He doesn’t suffer from dysmorphia however and is not trans
Influential Memory: (Spoiler territory for my book) At age 12, he and Velvet were flying around the dam exploring the coastline. Deciding to be a bit daring, they fly out to sea a little and fish around. Soon, a storm blows in and in the middle of it, they’re tossed around and barely escape being drowned. However, as they reach the dam wall, Velvet is struck by lightning and killed, scarring Aischylos for life.
Role Model: Bethesda, Pallas Crush: - Source of Embarrassment: His gender and small build Source of Pride: His intelligence and flying ability
Hello! It sounds like you have a really interesting setting concept here, and I'm very interested in how this all fits together. At first, though, I was honestly a little concerned - there are a lot of worldbuilding details here, and I thought you might be submitting your setting for critique rather than your character! I was relieved to see that this is not the case, but in future, you may want to pull back on telling me too much about the setting. Remember, we don't need to know everything about it. Just the basics are fine!
So let's get into the basics of Aischylos, shall we?
First off, this is a character name that could actually use a pronunciation guide. I know how it sounds in my head, but I'm not sure if that's how it sounds in your head. I find myself stumbling over it whenever I read it in a sentence, and it's hard to spell it without looking at it. That may be something you want to take into consideration for future readers. I like that you've included a basic statement of the relationships he has with the other mentioned characters in parentheses with their names; that helps me keep them straight in my head. His basics and appearance make sense since I know that he's a harpy from your setting description. I believe the effect you're referring to on his feathers is "iridescence", but I could be wrong.
I like the personality you've described for Aisch. It makes sense, given the culture he was raised in. However, you haven't really included a backstory for him, so I can't tell you if it would fit in with where he's coming from. Normally, I wouldn't even provide a critique for a character without a backstory, but I'm making an exception in this case because I think that you do have one - it just isn't explicitly written out in paragraph form. You need to work on that, if you choose to revise Aisch.
Since you haven't included any questions for me to address, I'm not sure what you're looking for in this critique. The major problem I'm seeing here is that without a backstory, it's very hard to make out where Aisch is in his story and where he's going from here. On the one hand, one of his motivations is to protect Velvet; on the other hand, he has a memory of her death. Is she alive or not? I don't know. You could also use some proofreading - there are a few minor typos and places where you could tighten up your sentence structure, although they're not too jarring.
You clearly have some very solid ideas here and I think you know what you want out of this character and where you're going with this story. You just need to bring it across more clearly in this profile, so that I know, too. If you choose to revise Aisch, I would be happy to take another look at him. Until then, I hope this helps, and good luck!

Yeah, it sounded something random and out there that Genie would do. So any random headcanons like her general wardrobe choices, best/worst classes. Idk it is my own Hc that as a genie she is more mature in some ways like...well sexual urges to put it bluntly a bit moreso than a regular mortal. She's open about it to Aziz, but much more conservative to others about it. What are your thoughts?
When you’re immortal, “normal” and “random” are very relative concepts, and more to the point, you’ve already exhausted most every item mortals would put on their bucket lists. At that point, there’s two options: one, take a break and wait for times to change dramatically enough for you to do them all over again without it feeling stale, or two, get creative.
And Genie was never one for taking breaks if he could help it.
Jordan, as usual, heavily favours harem pants and other fashion trends from her home state of Agrabah, gold and jewelry, and styles that ace very much outside Auradon City’s conservative norms, as we see with her very revealing top that is only made decent by her jacket. Thanks to Agrabah’s intimate relationship with money and all the luxuries and niceties afforded to you by it,  she believes that no outfit of hers is complete until you step out the door on a party cloudy day and sparkle like the inside of the Agrabah treasury.
For context, the guards that work there have to wear protective shades that would render them almost to completely blind anywhere else but midday in the streets of Agrabah, without shade.
Jordan’s best class is anything involving words and opinions, such as Speech, English, Logic, and Philosophy. She’s also great at History and at Math, thanks to her great memory and her mentally advanced age being able to grasp complexities, mathematical concepts, and sequences of events easily, and she keeps on going strong with the latter as you better believe that all the bling she has on her person costs a LOT, and Aladdin made it very clear that she has a set budget on how many silver dollars she can loan from him for “school clothes.”
Besides, it’s really fun to hunt for bargains in person--most of the fun of shopping, for her.
As for Jordan’s sexuality: yes, she would experience these things much earlier than anyone else at her chronological age, but she’s not quite as confused and prone to making stupid decisions as adolescents and teenagers are wont to. For one thing, she’s got a well-developed sense of long-term decision making which teenagers biologically lack/have not developed just yet, and for another, djinn have a very loose idea of sexuality and gender in the first place.
Most faeries and djinn don’t really HAVE biological sex--they just adopt outwardly feminine or masculine traits to make them less alien to mortals, and also personal preference, as we see with Genie and Eden and their respective appearances. Unlike mortals, they don’t really NEED to reproduce, so they don’t have any unconscious urges or inclinations towards sex and sexuality.
You could say that most of them are asexual (not interested in sex at all), or are unable to feel any sort of sexual feelings or inclinations towards others if there’s not an emotional attachment involved, or they just happen to meet a person that particularly riles them up.
That being said, nurture also counts quite a lot for a person’s development, so Jordan does mirror her peers’ tendencies towards crushes and sexual interest. Like you propose, she is very open to Aziz about it (though sometimes it’s just to make him squirm like he makes her when he shares his latest crushes and fantasies), but conservative to everyone else, as a) few like a “sexually liberated” (to use the nice term) woman on YouTube, and b) she is very careful in cultivating and maintaining the outside appearance she would like her viewers to know her as, for the sake of her channel, and on a deeper level, her need to feel accepted and normal, or at least very well-liked.
Before you ask: her first crush was Iza Mae Malkov, Topaz Ranger from Rune Rangers Neo, an actress famous for doing her own stunts and still being an avid practitioner of Muay Thai, along with occasional stints back into MMA.
And before you ask even further about that: I headcanon Jordan to be demisexual, not sexually attracted to anyone unless they form a strong emotional attachment. Gender doesn’t matter to her, it’s personality that counts.

Muse: Gizmo
Tumblr media
Also written at @mogwaicutiepie if you prefer a single-muse blog instead. =)
[Bio and other information below the cut!]
Type of Character & Fandom/Source Material: Canon character from the movies Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch (Note: I also write this muse over at @mogwaicutiepie, but wanted to bring him here to see if I could get him more activity.)
FC: Gizmo as himself! XD
Race: Mogwai
Age: ??? - No one really knows how old Gizmo is... including Gizmo! He hasn’t been keeping count at all.
Family: His Bàba, Mr. Wing; Billy Peltzer and his girlfriend Kate (all verse-dependent); his water-induced progeny, Trinket (this blog only XD)
Potentially Triggering Material in Threads: character death (Mr. Wing); laboratory/medical themes and needles; experimentation themes, mild violence
Negative Personality Traits: He’s curious to a fault, kindof noisy, a little hyper sometimes, he doesn’t sit still for very long, and he’s addicted to television.
Positive Personality Traits: Kindness, empathy, bravery, and a desire to make friends, love, and be loved.
Background: Gizmo is a mogwai, a small, furry, ancient species of mammal the origin of which is unknown. Mogwai are thought to have first been observed and domesticated in the Orient. Gizmo himself was owned by a man named Mr. Wing, who lived and worked in a Chinatown antique store. On this blog, he can be canon or canon-divergent. If divergent, it means he has a different origin story or other previous owners besides Mr. Wing. Otherwise, Gizmo’s personality will remain canon, so you can expect him to react to things pretty much how he did in the movies.
Personality: Gizmo is basically too pure for this world. He is an adorable and happy little guy who reacts in a very innocent way to how he is treated and related to. He is without guile or malice or agenda, and is simply a beautiful little soul. Not all mogwai are this way, however, and their personalities vary greatly, just like that of people. Gizmo is a sweet little guy who can get scared easily, but when he has to, he exhibits bravery not usually expected of one so tiny and cute. If the safety of someone he considers a friend is in jeopardy, Gizmo will rise to the occasion to help them.
I will try to have the “rules” revealed or made apparent to your muse early on in the RP, since Gizmo’s speech is limited and he can’t convey them easily himself. XD
Verses and Potential Starter Ideas: There are a few points of origin that Gizmo can have, some of which are more amenable to other muses discovering the “rules” of owning a mogwai than others. Sometimes the rules can be explained directly to your muse, sometimes a note can be included with Gizmo, and sometimes, well… your muse will be on their own! I am also up for the idea of your muse being able to research their new acquisition either at a library or online to find out what Gizmo is and how to care for him… especially the do’s and don’ts of owning a mogwai, since Gizmo’s speech is limited as far as English goes.
Chinatown Verse - Does your muse frequent a Chinatown setting? Do they like curio or antique shops? They can meet Gizmo there! Maybe something has happened to Mr. Wing and Gizmo needs a new home? Or maybe Gizmo’s current owner can no longer take care of him and begs your muse to take up the responsibility?
Pet Store Verse - Gizmo has either been abducted from Mr.
Wandering Mogwai Verse - In this verse, Gizmo would have escaped from a Chinatown location or a pet store and is on his own, potentially looking for a friend and/or protector.
Gremlin Verse (?) - An obvious canon-divergent way to go with Gizmo is to let him eat after midnight and have him turn into a gremlin. In most cases, I prefer not to do this and to keep the muse as the original Gizmo. But if you want to try to pitch to me why I should let him turn, you certainly can try to convince me. XD
MCU Verse - Gizmo joining the Avengers or the Guardians of the Galaxy? Yes please! XD
Fun facts:
Gizmo loves cars, especially race cars! He’s actually a very good driver... of small toy cars. XD Vroom, vroom!
Gizmo also loves dogs, which he calls “woof-woofs.”
His greatest love is TV, despite Mr. Wing thinking it’s a waste of time. He loves action films the best.
His favorite movie is Rambo. Which one? I don’t know, he thinks they’re all the same movie. XD
Gizmo is fluent in three languages: his native mogwai language, Cantonese, and American English. He can understand them all very well and can read in English and Cantonese. He can speak fluently in mogwai and with basic proficiency in English and Cantonese. I wrote a meta about Gizmo’s vocabulary here, if you’d like to learn about the things he can say in English!
Gizmo is as intelligent as a human being!
He has perfect pitch and can play a keyboard.
He is a wonderful singer.
