watched a true crime video that literally showed excessive force via police dog and of course the comments are people going 'well he deserved it for being such a shitbag' and i really need people to understand that if excessive force is proven the shitbag you think deserved it will likely get at least some of the charges dropped.
in this case the actual facts of the crime (kidnapping a child, using it as a shield) are bad enough this particular shitbag is likely going to prison for life no matter if he wins an excessive force case or not.
but keep in mind i saw this footage because every goddamn cop at the scene was wearing a body cam. including the one who held the guy's legs in place so the dog could get a bigger bite.
and they went for it because they figured people would applaud them because the offender is an undeniable shitbag.
one of the things that keep cops comfortable being violent on camera is that a lot of people will applaud them if it's the "right" kind of offender being harmed.
the dude was flat on his stomach with his hands cuffed and his legs being held; he was not lashing out and trying to get free; there was no fucking reason for the police dog to be used to take him down. they did it for fucking kicks. because they knew public sympathy would be on their side. they possibly permanently disabled someone to feel powerful.
you can't be okay with police violence because you decide the person being harmed is bad enough to deserve it. either excessive force is wrong or you are comfortable encouraging harm to people.

Unmasking the Actions of Corrupt Politicians: A Closer Look at Political Malpractice
Corrupt politicians engage in a wide range of unethical and illegal activities to maintain and expand their power, often at the expense of the public interest. Some common actions and behaviors associated with corrupt politicians include:
Bribery: Accepting money, gifts, or favors in exchange for political favors, such as favorable legislation or government contracts.
Embezzlement: Misappropriating public funds for personal use or diverting money intended for public programs.
Nepotism: Appointing or promoting family members and close associates to government positions, often without regard for their qualifications.
Cronyism: Favoring friends and allies in political appointments, regardless of their competence or suitability for the role.
Kickbacks: Receiving a portion of the funds from government contracts awarded to certain businesses or individuals.
Extortion: Using threats or coercion to obtain money or support for personal or political gain.
Money Laundering: Funneling ill-gotten gains through legitimate financial channels to conceal their origin.
Corrupt Campaign Financing: Accepting illegal campaign contributions or using campaign funds for personal expenses.
Obstruction of Justice: Interfering with investigations, destroying evidence, or intimidating witnesses to avoid accountability.
Vote Rigging: Manipulating election results through voter suppression, ballot stuffing, or other fraudulent means.
Abuse of Power: Using one's political position to harass, intimidate, or retaliate against perceived enemies or whistleblowers.
Influence Peddling: Selling access to government officials or decision-makers to private interests seeking favorable outcomes.
Gerrymandering: Manipulating electoral district boundaries to favor one's political party and ensure re-election.
Lobbying Malpractice: Engaging in unethical lobbying practices, such as misrepresenting facts or exerting undue influence on legislators.
Conflict of Interest: Failing to disclose or address personal financial interests that may compromise one's ability to make impartial decisions.
Corrupt politicians undermine the principles of democracy, erode public trust in government, and divert resources away from essential public services. It's crucial to combat corruption through transparency, accountability, and legal mechanisms to uphold the integrity of political systems.

Love From The Other Side (Bowser x Chubby Reader)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your kingdom had recently come on dire time. With the Koopa Kingdom having a vast army. Well who was Bowser to deny your family's pleads. Especially when you were being offered to him on a tempting platter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi guys, I'm back at it again. Don't think that I wasn't writing, I just found out I had an allergy. So I had to deal with that. But I'm back and with a cute Bowser story. I've wanted to write for him since the new Mario Bros movie. It wasn't until recently that I thought of a decent plot though. Any who I hope you enjoy.
---------------------------------------------------------
He was surprised at receiving a request for an audience with your kingdom. A trading kingdom from a far off port. He had seen your parents from time to time at galas or Royal conferences. They seemed to be respectable if not private people. What was most peculiar though, was your name in the letter. He had heard mentions of you of course. But outside of your own kingdom, no one had seemed to see you.
It may have been your presence that made his decision. Who was to say, either way, your family would be at his castle within a fortnight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your hands fidget together as the carriage made its way down the rocky road. Glancing around you notice your mother frowning out the window. While you father was staring at you. Looking down quickly, you braced for a lecture.
“You know this is a last resort, don't you?” His gaze seemed to bore through you to your very soul.
Nodding you hoped that would be answer enough. As he didn't turn away, you said. “I do.” Though the whole situation only made you feel as if you were only an object.
A ghost of a smile fell on his face. Though it was as hollow as his next words. “I'm glad.”
Your mother's eyes narrowed as they surveyed the passing scenery.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your families arrival rang throughout the castle. The Goombas were rushing around to do last second tidying. While Kamek ordered Koopas to finish the dinner preparations.
Bowser's eyes swept over the grounds until they landed on the colorful carriage. It had wonderful murals of coastal scenery. As well as being drawn by creatures that weren't quite fish or horse. He was eagar to see what other oddities your kingdom may have. Hearing a scuffle next to him, he looked down to see Bowser Jr. shuffling in excitement. It wasn't everyday someone visited the castle under pleasant circumstances. Smiling down at his son, he ruffled his hair affectionately.
The carriage parked in front of the king and the driver opened the door. As regal as ever, your father and mother stepped through the door. He was a moment from greeting them, when you appeared. Beautiful as anyone he had ever seen and full as an overripe fruit. You were the visage of a deity.
Your father cleared his throat causing Bowser to reluctantly look away from you. The man had a knowing yet somber expression on his face. While your mother was out right scowling. A sheepish look crossed your face as you joined your parents.
Putting on a more professional air, he waved his arm towards the castle. “Welcome, please come inside and rest in your rooms a while. Dinner will be ready soon.” With that he rushed inside, Jr. trailing behind him. All the while berating himself. Coming up with a plan to not make so much of a fool of himself at dinner. Not noticing how Jr. couldn't stop looking back at you admiringly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Charles are you sure this is the right decision? I mean did you see the way he was gaping at her.” You could hear your mother's complaints ringing through the room you had been shown to.
“Evie please, this was a descion that had to be made.” There was a tense silence that followed. “It's not as if we've forced her. You know better than anyone that no one can will her to do anything.”
This caused an uncomfortable pressure to build behind your eyes. Not wanting to hear about your parents thoughts on you. You swiftly entered the room. “Have they called us for dinner?” You had already heard the Koopa tell your parents it was ready. But it was easier to change the subject quickly and avoid their gaze this way.
Your father smiled and gave you a endearing smile that you weren't sure you deserved. “Yes, should we start making our way then.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He sat at the head of the table. Desperately hoping that he didn't seem to eagar as your family approached. Jr. bounced in his seat to the right. To his shock you took the seat on his left. It was in this moment that he was glad that Kamek had suggested a smaller table. Something about it being a less intimidated and cozy gestured.
The first dish came out and only the sound of silverware filled the room. It wasn't until the main course came that the tension was broken by your father.
“I'm sure your curious as to why we've called for this audience.” His gaze felt piercing to the turtle tyrant.
His eyes flickered to you for a brief moment, before focusing on him. “I was surprised why such a distant kingdom would reach out.” Without knowing the reason for your visit, it felt like he had to walk on egg shells. Why were you here?
Rubbing a hand across his aged features, he said. “It is not under happy circumstances. We are receiving threats from a nearby kingdom. Are you familiar with the Eezla domain?”
He had to hold back a flinch. Even he had a hard time dealing with the war hungry dictator of a leader from there. It was no wonder your family had seeked out an audience with another kingdom. The only question was why his.
“He has come to us with a demand. Our daughter's hand in marriage or a battle for our ports.” His tone was weary.
Your gaze dropped to the table with dread. You wouldn't mind sacrificing your morals to save your people. But as the only heir for your family. It was an obvious ploy to take over the kingdom. You wouldn't have been surprised if your parent's death would have followed the potential ceremony.
“So instead we talked together on the matter and came to a new conclusion. It would be far more difficult if our daughter was wed to a more tolerable kingdom. Though they would need to have a formidable army.” He would have continued his eloquent explanation. If not for your mother's bitter interuption.
“She choose you. Can you believe that.” Her glare burned through him. “Out of all the options she had. You were her first pick.” Folding her arms over her chest, she resembled more closely a toddler than a queen.
Standing up quickly, you gave a hard stare to your mother. “It was the logical choice.” Looking away from her, your timid demeanor returned. “If the other party accepts that is.”
He could help but think that your gaze was as piercing as your father's. Though there was a graceful openness to you. He thought of Peach for a moment and had to keep a grimace off of his face. It had been a blow to his heart when she married Mario. Looking at you, it was like a golden opportunity had been dropped in his lap. “I do.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was an odd feeling to bid fairwell to your parents. But with your mother's distaste for the arrangement and time running out. It was better that they go start the ceremony preparations now. It was a relief to only have to make final decisions. Also that Bowser agreed to a wedding in your home lands.
Placing your ear against the door. No large footfalls could be heard and your shoulders sagged in relief. You shouldn't be avoiding your betrothed. On the other hand, if he asked about what your mother said. You just may die of embarrassment.
Just how was a sheltered princess supposed to explain to her newly betrothed about her powers. That the only reason the ruler of Eezla had found out you are a seerer. After that it wasn't long before he demanded for your hand. By choice or force. This had prompted you to shut yourself away and look for the best path. It hadn't taken long. The moment Boswer entered your visions, it was all but decided. The sight of his heart break was surprising. Followed by the tenderness he held for his son. He provided for his citizens, raising a fierce army.
A blush took over your face as you remembered your possible future together. Growing to care for one another. Parenting Bowser Jr. together, even visions of your own children. It was almost to much to handle, your face felt as if it was on fire.
Taking a deep breath, you gathered yourself. Stepping out the door, you bumped into a small figure. It was a shock to run into someone shorter than you. But a gasp escaped your mouth as you saw Jr. on the floor in front of you.
Scooping him up on your arms, you fussed. “Oh darling, I'm so sorry. I didn't notice you there. Are you ok?”
He beamed up at you and nodded quickly. He couldn't believe how lucky he was. He got a new mama, she was super nice and pretty! “Are you coming to breakfast?”
Looking down at the sweet boy you hesitated. “Is your father there?”
Shaking his head, he said. “No, he had to go with Kamek. So I told him I would take you to breakfast.” He was bouncing in your arms. It made him a bit hard to keep a hold of.
So placing him down gently, you nodded. “Yes some food sounds good.” You felt guilty for avoiding him. But you thought some time apart may bury the comments your mother made.
Feeling a tug at your hand, you allowed the excited child to lead you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He couldn't keep his mind off of it. You had chosen him. Of all people why him? He could hardly pay attention to the map sprawled out before him. No matter how many times he told himself that knowing the enemy territory was important. His thought just couldn't stop straying to you.
Your sweet temperament and melodious voice. How well your plush form filled out your clothes. How you looked at him without any fear or animosity. You had chosen him.
Shifting his mind onto a task to aid you. Yes that's how he could keep himself on point. This was for you. The more he knew of his new enemies. The better he could protect you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You didn't see each other again until dinner that evening. You having spent the day with Jr., avoiding any thought of the large turtle. While he made battle strategy and his mind wouldn't stop returning to you.
It would have been a quiet meal, if not for the youngest participant. He animatedly talked about what you both had done that day. His father couldn't help his admiration for you growing. You obviously had already taken a special place in his son's life.
“Then I slipped off the stair.” Waving his arms around wildly, the pint size turtle almost tipped out of his chair. You both leaned forward, until he settled back down. Your face flushed as your eyes met. “But Ms. (Y/N) caught me with sparkles.”
Bowser's eyes widened, he hadn't been informed of you having magical ability. He wondered if it was anything like Kamek's spells. “I wasn't aware of you being a caster.”
Your face darkened as his attention was solely on you. “Not many people are. That's one reason my parents kept me from the public eye. With how rare magic users are and all.” He wanted to questioned you a bit more. But the subject seemed to make you more timid than usual. So instead he turned back to Jr. and listened to his day with you. Hopefully with time you would feel comfortable enough to open yourself up to him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You couldnt stand it any longer. You had to tell him the truth. It felt deceitful to keep your ability from him. The day you were meant to be bound was fast approaching. You didn't want to start your married life together on such a sour note.
You steeled your nerves as you came upon the door to his private chambers. It was well past Jr.’s bedtime, so you knew interuptions were unlikely. Raising a fist you knock lightly, when no immediate answer came you were torn. A part of you was relieved to not have to deal with this quite yet. Still there was a throb of anxiety about waiting any longer. You battled with yourself to knock again or leave. Until the door swung open.
Bowser toweled off his firey hair as he looked down at you. It was an unlikely yet pleasant surprise to see you outside his chambers. Grinning down at you he invited you in. “Make yourself comfortable.”
As he left through another door, you glanced around the room. It was about as grand as you had imagined it. Lavish paintings and banners decorating the walls. Though an area was sectioned off for Jr.'s art. It was adorable and heartwarming to see how much he had saved. A flush coated your cheeks as you noticed the only place to sit was the large bed. It was a lavish setting, dark stained wood with deep red bedding. You felt a shy yet scandalous heat travel through you. It wouldnt be long before this would be your chambers as well. The very bed that you would share together.
You almost jumped out of your skin as he reentered the room.
“Sorry about that, you caught me after a shower.” His hair drooped in a freshly washed fashion. It was a look you hadn't had a chance to see yet. It was an odd, but endearingly boyish style. “What was it you wanted to discuss?”
“Oh I was um.” The blush spread deepening to your neck. It was one thing to come up with the resolve. But another to go through with the difficult task. Still you needed to do this, for both of your sakes. “I need to let you know the truth. Why I chose you that is.”
He watched you carefully. It was something that had been on his mind for a while. Who was he kidding, since it was mentioned. But as he watched you fidget in place, he couldn’t take the usual pleasure he got from others squirming. So instead, he sat next to you patiently and waited for you to continue.
Gathering all your courage, you spat it out. “I can see the future.” A stagnant silence filled the air. Each of you waiting for the other to break it.
He awkwardly shifted to get a better look at you. Was that why you had chosen him? Was he the best pick or did you settle. Gazing down at you, he took you in. Your flush full cheeks and eyes looking everywhere but him. Your soft body, if only you knew how much your plush form filled his dreams. Taking your warm hands into his own, he smiled genuinely. “So you saw us together?” You nodded. “Were we….” He paused not knowing how to put the next question.
You noticed his hesitation, it made you want to sigh in relief. It was nice to know that you weren't the only one having a difficult time navigating this. Tightening your hold on his hands you explained. How the leader of Eezla had found out about you being a mage. But the only thing he was interested in was your proficient seer abilities. His demand for your hand was met with refusal. He then threatened the lives of your people. This led you to searching for a solution, which turned out to be him.
Eyes wide he wanted to deny it all. “But I'm just as bad as he is. Why choose me over him?” He hated himself for bringing it up. But a part of him would feel worse if he didn't.
Shaking your head you glared at him. “You are nothing like that monster. I know you have a sorted past with the Mushroom Kingdom. But the moment Peach married you left well enough alone. Not to mention the way you care for Jr. and your citizens. And when we have our daughter, your eyes light up the first time you hold her.”
He stared at you with astonishment. “We have a daughter?” You cover your face mortified. Only to shriek in the next moment as he scoops you up and spins you around the room. Your screams turn into elated giggles as you relax in his arms. Pulling you closer he gazes into your lovely eyes and leans forward. You meet his lips in a tender kiss.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Things went well, pleasant conversation and sweet looks were exchanged. It seemed that things were going to work out. Until the Mushroom Kingdom caught wind of a damsel ‘trapped’ in Bowser's castle.
Mario suits up as his brother looks at him skeptically. “Are you sure you should go charging in there?”
The shorter man glared at him. It wasn't like he had a choice. The minute Peach heard some woman was there she threw a fit. Complaining about her time there and what she had to deal with. If it was her he wouldn't hesitate to rush over. Even if she was right, he just wanted to relax every once and a while. If it wasn't his new royal duties, it was his family back in Brooklyn. It felt like he hadn't had a day off in years.
Waving a hand at the other man, he said. “I'm just going to check things out. Not start a war or anything.”
With a weary nod he followed after his older brother.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As time was drawing closer for the wedding, you were pouring over the final details with Bowser. He had originally insisted that you make all the decisions. But after convincing him this was a ceremony to join you both, he relented. You were elated at the combination of opinions and styles. It was going to be a magical event.
Jr. had tried not to get bored while you went over the seemingly endless papers. He really did, but what was a young boy to do. Although when he heard the words flower arrangements. He knew there was something he could do to help. Calling out that he was headed to the gardens, he darted away.
As he gathered flowers, weeds, and grass. He failed to notice the two plumbers approaching the castle. He jumped and whirled around as they called out to him.
“Hey kid, have you seen a new lady around the place?” Mario thought it would be easier to ask than sneak around.
Eyes narrowing at the brothers, he frowned. “What’s it to you?” There was no way he was letting these guys near Mama. When they didn't answer, he turned back to a patch of red flowers.
Getting frustrated with the whole situation, the shorter man put a hand on the boy. Only hoping to get his attention again. He was shocked when the child ran from them.
“Mama!” He stumbled in his hurry to escape from the brothers. Tumbling end over end, he landed on his knee. Scrapping the skin, blood seeped from the wound. Tears sprang from his eyes as he sat on the ground. Luigi started to make his way over, until the wind began to pick up and the ground shook.
The entrance burst open as a red eyed Bowser and a whirlwind sprinted towards the group. The wind calmed down a bit. The brothers were faced with a woman that looked as of she wanted to bite their heads off. They had never seen a more fierce expression on a person before.
Your hair whipped around your face wildly. The only thing that brought you back was Jr. wrapping his arms around your leg. Dropping the magic immediately, you scooped him into your arm. Cuddling him close to your chest, you wiped the tears from his cheeks.
Allowing himself to take a moment to gaze at the two of you tenderly. He enjoyed the sight of the woman he was growing to love caring for his child. It was a veiw that he could get used to. A glare slid on his face as he turned towards the brothers. “Is there any reason your harassing my son. Make it quick, you interupted something important.” One wrong move and he would tear into these idiots. He would risk peace with the Mushroom Kingdom for his families’ safety.
“We came to make sure she wasn't here against her will.” Mario was done with this entire situation. He was obviously sent on a dead end trip. You were treating Bowser Jr. like your own child. Not to mention Bowser putting himself between you and the brothers. It was obvious you were here by choice.
This made you finally take your attention off Jr. These men come here and accuse your betrothed of forcing you here. You know he had a sorted pass. Though your ability showed that he was passed that phase. It was one thing to make baseless claims. But it was a whole other to harm a child in the process. “I am here of my own accord. In a months time I will be marrying Boswer and taking my place in this kingdom. If that is enough evidence for you, I will now be leaving to heal my son. If not then I won't hesitate to make sure this is your last trip to the Koopa Kingdom.” The wind picked back up at your threat.
“No, we'll be on our way.” Mario just wanted to go home and soak away this entire experience. Pulling Luigi along, he shushed his protest with a wave of his hands.
Bowser followed after you, pupils practically shaped like hearts. He wasn't sure what he had done to be so lucky to meet you. But he would be sure to keep his plush queen by his side.

tw royal whump, abuse of power, past torture, implied future torture, bullying for zero reason, drowning
Whumpee had been working for hours. The Hall was enormous; the floor seemed to stretch into infinity whenever they looked up. So they just stopped looking, working square inch by square inch, never daring to check how much more work they had left.
Their knees were aching, bones pressed against an unforgivingly hard surface, skin catching on every little bump. Their arms and back were burning with the exertion, but they continued scrubbing, rewetting and wringing out the cloth again and again.
Just a little more, surely. They had to be close to done by now.
They didn’t stop working when they heard footsteps. People inside the palace would come and go all the time, it wasn’t any of their business — except this set of footsteps seemed to grow nearer still, way beyond the threshold of the Hall.
Whumpee didn’t look up. They scrubbed even more diligently, keeping their head low and their movements as silent as possible. It didn’t matter. By the time those expensive boots entered their field of vision, they already knew who it was. There was only one person who never left them alone even while working.
Her Majesty’s second son was as much of a brat as one could get, even within the royal family; with all the power and none of the responsibility, plenty of free time, and an unexplainable sadistic streak, he was the subject of many of Whumpee’s recurring nightmares. They didn’t understand what they’d done to warrant being the prince’s favourite chewtoy, and they were starting to suspect there wasn’t a reason, aside from simple misfortune.
“Busy?”
Whumpee put down the cloth, still keeping their eyes fixed on the floor. What were they supposed to say? Yes, they were, but that could come off rude. If they said no, however… well, that was a clear lie. “I’m happy to assist in whatever Your Highness may need,” they said in the end, hoping it was good enough.
“Look at me.” Whumpee swallowed and looked up, meeting the prince’s icy cold eyes. If there ever was a picture of pure malice, it must’ve been based off of him. “Do you think you’re doing a good job here, servant?”
“I’m doing the best job I can possibly–”
“Look at the water.” The prince suddenly grabbed them by the hair, making them yelp as they were dragged over to the bucket. “It’s filthy. You should’ve brought fresh water long ago, that’s not going to clean anything.”
“Y-yes, Your Highness. I apologise. I’ll bring–” They were cut off when the prince let go, shoving them down towards the admittedly quite dirty water. They caught themself before they could’ve fallen, their face just inches away from being submerged. “I’ll bring–”
He stepped on the back of their head, pushing them down as far as their body would allow. They didn’t have a chance to take a deep breath beforehand, and they certainly wouldn’t get one now. Their terrified whines and whimpers escaped them in large bubbles of precious oxygen, but the prince showed no sign of wanting to let them up.
They couldn’t breathe. They couldn’t breathe. They couldn’t–
The pressure suddenly disappeared and Whumpee yanked their head out of the bucket, getting water everywhere as they coughed and sputtered. Their lungs were burning with all the inhaled musky water, their throat scratchy and in pain from the abuse.
“Oh, by the way,” the prince began casually while they were still wheezing, “Mother sent me to check on the state of the Hall, since the event is about to start soon. I’m sure she will be very disappointed when I tell her–”
“I’ll be quicker,” Whumpee choked out, every word bringing more agony. “Please, Your Highness, I–”
The prince didn’t hesitate to kick them in the ribs with those expensive boots, and through the pain, Whumpee wondered how severely they’d be punished if their useless body were to make a scratch in the leather. “Do not interrupt me,” he hissed. “You can’t do your damn job or show respect? Have you already forgotten the last lashing?”
They couldn’t answer. It all hurt so much, they were too scared, they hated it all–
“That’s quite alright, I suppose. When I tell Mother about the servant who caused the delay, I’ll simply offer to handle the punishment arrangements myself. It’ll be a nice refresher — since the water doesn’t seem to have been enough.”

Throughout your entire life, all the toxic people you’ve had to battle, all the snakes you’ve had to deal with, and all the two-faced liars you’ve come across, Light will always be the most manipulative, toxic, two-faced, lying snake you’ve ever met.
But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves, even you and Light once had a somewhat normal relationship at first.
Strangers.
But it wasn’t like that for long.
Only three days after your transfer to Light’s high school, he was instantly intrigued by you. You were caring, principled, knowledgeable, honest, fair, and RESPECTFUL.
Everything about you caught his attention. Unlike other transfer students that went and came, you were there to stay. And again, unlike the other students who instantly attracted loads of students and made tons of friends, you struggled, to say the least. You’d try to make friends, only for everyone to ignore you.
Each day, you’d show up to school in full uniform, your tie done perfectly, your hair combed neatly, only for it to go crazy by the end of the day.
Crazy due to you trying to navigate your classrooms around the massive school with nothing but the tiny and unclear school map that the school gave you.
Every Time you’d ask someone where you could find a classroom, they’d either laugh at you with their friends or tell you the wrong directions on purpose which caused you to end up in a classroom on the other side of the school.
You’d always show up to class late, scampering around to ask a teacher for help.
Light knew this, as he was in every single one of your classes, except cooking.
Light would always silently watch you every time you were in a rush to get to class, break, lunch, early in the morning at school when nobody else was there, and late after school when you’d stay back after class to clean up other peoples’ mess.
Light didn’t realise you were a part of his life until one day when you didn’t appear at school. Light only noticed that his eyes were searching for you when he awkwardly stood in the middle of the courtyard, unsure of what he was doing. It hit him that he was looking for you when another girl stood in your place. Light rolled his eyes and continued to his class.
Every time the teacher would speak, light’s eyes would unconsciously travel to where you were supposed to sit.
Your seat was empty.
That was the first time Light had ever lost attention in class.
“Light? Focus, please. Read the fourth sentence out loud,” Light was shaken awake by the teacher’s voice.
Each period, Light’s eye continued to creak towards your seat.
His mind was fogged with thoughts about you. Perhaps you were sick? Or maybe you moved, unable to deal with the students at the school?
Light wouldn’t blame you, though.
He knew you were weak. He knew you’d have to crack at some point.
The thought of you having left the school caused a feeling to brew inside the deepest pit of Light’s insides.
He felt a slight surge of disappointment or perhaps if you could exaggerate it- even heartbreak.
As soon as Light’s homeroom teacher announced at the end of the day that someone would have to bring your homework to your house, everyone began giggling and talking, ignoring the teacher completely. Light glued his eyes to his book, trying to not look at the teacher, so the teacher would choose him. Somewhere within Light’s mind, he wanted the teacher to say, ‘Light, could I burden you to go to miss L/n’s house and give her the homework?’
“Light, could I burden you to go to miss L/n’s house to give her the homework?” the end of Light’s lips curled ever so slightly, unknown to him.
“Yes, sir.”
Later that day, Light set out with the homework sheets that the teacher had given him and headed towards your house.
It was a pretty neat house, considering the fact that you had only recently moved in. He looked up and saw a bedroom window, small flower plans and vies erupting from their pots.
He didn’t know you liked gardening.
Light knocked on the door and you opened it, rushing to the door. This was the first time Light had seen you out of uniform. You were wearing your pyjamas with fluffy pink slippers. Your hair was messy unlike all the other times he'd seen you, but to Light it was cute.
Light’s cheeks turned slightly pink as he gave you the papers. You frantically apologized for being a burden, as Light tried to quietly assure you that it was no problem.
That night, Light went home and thought about you for a while.
A long while.
Perhaps even the whole night.
The next day, you started school again.
Light was surprised you hadn’t cracked yet. Maybe he might have been wrong.
Yes, weak you were, but you could truly handle the pain.
The very next week, Light saw you again, in your usual place in the courtyard, with a confused expression on your face.
Light gave a tiny laugh at how adorable you looked.
You had been attending the school for three months already, and yet you were still clueless about everything.
 Then, you did something that light didn’t expect you to do at all.
You had walked up to Light and asked him for directions to your next class.
Light was, to the least, quite surprised at your sudden action. This was one of the first times, Light was able to clearly see your face. The sunlight shined over your face and gave it a hearty glow and the slight panic or worry in your eyes about being late made your eyes look glossy and beautiful.
It was at that moment that light fell in love.
Just looking at your face caused a flurry of ecstasy to blow up inside him.
He got butterflies in his stomach and his Heart began pounding like crazy.
You were perhaps that one miracle woman that caused Light to act this way.
Light Yagami, the smartest student in the city, perfectly put and civilised, cool and good at quick thinking was now struggling to form words in front of a mere girl.
In the end, since you both had the same class, Light walked you to the classroom.
After class, you two exchanged numbers. When Light had finished typing his number into your phone and was waiting for you to finish, he looked at your contacts list.
“Mum”
“Dad”
"Work"
"Grandma"
Those were the only contacts on your phone, which was unusual for a high schooler, considering that you should have loads of numbers, as you did friends.
You must have been a truly lonely person.
And so, Light and you had begun to grow closer.
You’d study in the library, and you didn’t have to panic about your classes anymore since light and you had the same classes. Even for your cooking class, light had always walked you.
Nobody laughed at you anymore, they merely just ignored you.
During break and lunch, you and light would sit under a tree together and enjoy your lunch while you both chated happily.
If anyone had seen the both of you in your isolated little corner of the school, they would’ve immediately assumed you two were a couple, but that was not the case.
Now, at that point in your relationship, Light had an adorable schoolboy crush on you.
He smiled whenever his eyes caught you early in the morning. His heart fluttered when you laugh at his jokes. His stomach turns upside down whenever you smile his way.
Light was head over heels.
He’d silently watch you during class, lovestruck at your beauty.
Not only was he admiring you, but he was also watching and observing like a lion waiting to pounce at the other guys in the class who looked at you even slightly weird.
He enjoyed the fact that he could see you and monitor you everywhere you went.
But something that bugged him was you being in cooking class.
That meant that he couldn’t watch you during that hour since he had a different class.
He’d try to convince you to quit cooking class (which, by the way, didn’t work,) so, he did the next best thing.
He started dating your partner in cooking class.
Why would he date someone else when he was so madly in love with you?
Simple, so he could manipulate your partner into telling him about all the things you did in class that day.
Did she ever realise that the only person or thing light ever wanted to talk about was you and anything related to you?
Absolutely not, Light had the poor girl wrapped around his finger. She was basically hypnotised by his looks.
But did the girl’s information quench light’s thirst to know about everything you do?
Also no.
Light needed to know, light needed to see, light needed to hear with his own ears and feel with his own fingertips.
The hours of the week in which you have cooking class became hell for him. He desperately desired your presence.
So he simply continued to further guilt trip you about how lonely he was feeling when he was alone.
So when you had enough of the guilt, you quit cooking class and joined light.
As soon as you left your cooking class for the last time, Light threw your previous cooking partner away, he didn’t need her anymore.
Now, light was with you every second of the school day, and was listening to your sweet voice after school through phone calls.
But light wanted more.
He wanted more and he wanted it now.
What was his next tactic?
He sucked up to your parents, he dropped you off at home every day so your parents would see him as a gentleman and he would suck up to your parents a lot. His smarts, his family status, his student ranking, his manner, everything.
Next?
He moved your usual meeting locations, chatting locations, and eating locations all to a much more public place.
Why?
So people would see both of you.
He arranged for the both of you to hang out after school or on the weekends in places he knew that other people from school were going to be.
He used his popularity to his advantage and began spreading rumours of how you two were dating but he did it so confidentially, no-on would be able to trace it back to him.
In no time, the whole school was buzzing with chats about you and light.
You tried to tell them that you weren't dating, but they all simply assumed you were a shy little girl.
You tried to tell light to deny it, but Light seemed oddly busy.
As soon as Light got the death note in the palm of his hands, he started by killing off the girl you used to partner with during cooking class.
She was becoming a hassle to deal with, she even threatened to hurt you. Light would’ve killed her either way, with or without the death note.
Next, he killed the people who ignored you.
He couldn’t kill the whole school, so he merely killed the ones that hassled you the most, and to prevent you from being put under suspicion and the danger of being taken away from him, Light had to kill other people as well. Teachers whom you were on good terms with, the janitor, and a few random passer-byers.
That one math teacher who favoured you.
That janitor, whose name Light only found out for the death note.
Roy the leader of a gang that hassled you.
That BBBBB Molly who kept bullying you.
And they were just some.
Light was finally able to protect you. He’d smile every night at the thought that he was protecting you as a boyfriend would protect his girlfriend.
He was happy with just killing students but when he witnessed you getting molested on the train on your way to school, a nerve snapped in light’s head.
The world was a danger to you, and Light needed to fix it.
And so, began Light’s murder spree of criminals and anyone who would pose even the slightest threat to you.
While light was dealing with issues of the death note, you were dealing with issues related to rumours at school.
It was weird. Light hadn’t spoken to you for almost a week now.
It began bugging you, but you tried to not think about it too hard.
It was only after another two weeks that Light had finally appeared again.
“So are you and light, like- a thing now?” A student would ask you as usual.
“No, no, I swear, we’re just friends,” You’d desperately try to explain. Where the hell was Light when you needed him the most?
The two girls began sniggering, “Sure sure, REAL CLOSE FRIENDS,”
“I promise, we’re not-” A large arm landed on your shoulders, pulling you back until a strong chest bumped against your back.
“Huh-” Light had appeared behind you, but he wasn’t wearing the usual happy and kind look, he was wearing an unusual smirk.
“Oh, thank god you’re here Light, now we can clear it up-”
“Yeah, we’re dating,” Your stomach sank and your heart felt a weird emotion.
“What-”
The girls let out excited squeals.
“You’re so lucky, Y/n-chan!!” One squealed, as they both ran away.
But you didn't do anything.
You just stood there and stared at Light as his arm held you tight to his chest.
The very next day was absolute hell for you, The two girls had run around the whole school telling everyone that you and light were confirmed to be dating.
All the guys you walked by had given you thumbs up as support with smiles and all the girls would practically smack you on the back so hard that your soul would leave your body, from enthusiasm. Then they would fangirl about you and light, calling you ‘the power couple’ of the school, before getting excited and calling you ‘lucky’.
It was a surprise that you actually even managed to get to class.
When you actually managed to get there, your eyes searched for light. When they did find him, you were enraged, you were confused, you were sad, you felt- betrayed.
You rolled up your non-existent sleeves and marched towards light. You usually sat in the seat next to him, so it was empty.
“Light-!” Before you could say anything else, the teacher had entered the room and ordered everyone to sit down.
So you did as you were told, you sat down silently. Quietly, you did, but the glare on your face did not seem to leave. While the teacher’s back was turned to you while he wrote something on the board, you scribbled on your book.
‘Why did you tell the girls that we’re dating?!’ You scribbled in messy writing before shoving it in light’s hand. Light didn’t tear his eyes from the board when you put the paper in hand, but looked down at his hand just a few seconds later. He read the note and smirked to himself, still not looking at you.
‘Answer me, goddamn it!' You wrote again and passed it to him.
Again, like before, Light read the note, smirked and ignored it.
You were furious and couldn’t wait till class ended so you'd yell at him.
When the bell DID ring, light immediately packed his books and left class. Usually, he’d have waited for you so you two could walk to the library together, but it was different this time.
“Hey! Light! Look at me! Stop ignoring me,”
You’d race behind him, trying to talk to him as he walked to the library. You struggled to keep up with Light as his long legs carried him to the library, quick with ease, while your short ones struggled.
When you two entered the library, you quickly began yelling at light.
“Why did you tell her that we’re together!? Light!” You followed behind him to one of the tall bookshelves near the back.
Light reached his long hand out and caught a book in his hand before he pulled it out and began to browse through the book.
“I said look at me, light!” You pulled the book down, out of his view as light turned his head up to take a good look at your face.
Like a flash of light, Light made a fast movement and pinned you straight against the bookshelf, his book in his hand as the edge of it leaned against the bookshelf.
Your breath hitched as Light leaned into your face.
“You were saying something?” Light asked you, your faces were so close now that his hot breath fanned against the skin of your neck.
“Wh-” Light moved away and went back to looking at the books.
“Listen light! I don’t know why you told them that we are dating, and I honestly don’t care! Tell them we’re just friends right now!” You whisper yelled to him, yet he didn’t budge.
“No,” He replied, simply.
“Wha- Why not!?”
“I like you, so we’re dating,”
“I don’t like you! Listen light, I merely see you as a friend who helped me when no one else wanted to! I never liked you!”
“You’ll learn to... Eventually,"
“How dare you! I’ll make it simple for you to understand, I don’t like you, and I never will-!” Before you could even properly finish your sentence, Light pulled out a dark-coloured book.
Pitchblack with scrawny writing on it. It was labbeled as “death note’.
“What’s that…?”
“This, my love, is a death note. Any name that is written upon it whilst the name holder’s face is in your mind, they will cease to exist..." Light said
“Don’t fuck with me with that bullshit!” You yelled, pushing the book away. The other book that light was looking at came into view.
'Criminals of major treason, 1990-2000’
Light opened the library book and skipped to a page with a criminal’s whole profile on it.
“Wayne york?” You asked. Light pulled out the notebook and wrote the name on one of the pages.
"Turn on your cell phone,” And within five minutes, Wayne's death was announced.
It was quite easy to convince you, so just a few more deaths were caused and you believedhim.
You looked towards Light with a horror-struck expression.
All that Light could see in your eyes was terror and fear.
“A-are you going to... Kill me…?” You quietly asked light, looking up at him with fearful eyes. Light was bewildered.
Of course he wasn’t going to hurt you, why would he ever?!
“What?! No! Why would I ever hurt you?!” With a gulp, you quickly picked up your bag with no other words and instantly left light, not removing your terrified eyes from his face.
The rest of the day, you could barely focus. Throughout the entire day, you could feel light’s eyes burning holes in the back of your head. Light had tried to talk to you but you simply ignored him out of fear.
Only when it got to lunch, did light finally give you a warning.
“There are consequences, Y/n... Severe consequences if you continue to act childish,” he warned you in an isolated corner of the school.
But did you listen to the crazy psychopathic killer who just killed a few people with no care, even if they were criminals? Hell no,
Light told you that he would wait for you in the usual spot where he and you used to sit together. When you didn’t appear in front of him, Light had already begun making strong movements towards the school cafeteria with a terrifying expression on his face.
When Light had arrived there, he was furious with what he saw. You were sitting alone with another boy. The boy and you were chatting and laughing together which already made his blood boil. The worst part was that the boy was putting his crummy hands all over you.
So when a minute later, the boy suddenly got a heart attack and died, you began panicking. Your eyes strayed towards Light who looked at you with a cruel smirk.
That ought to teach you a lesson.
The next period, instead of avoiding him, you sat next to him like a good girl and listened to him. And when school ended, he brought you outside and gave you a deep kiss that you couldn’t say no to. Then, he forced you to walk with him back to your home, and during this whole process, he doesn’t say a single thing to you, and no words were exchanged. When you get to your home, and Light is sure that our parents are also home, and can see the two from the window, he gives you a deep kiss with a threatening look which says play along with him.
He did it so your parents would know you two are dating. But because of how much sucking up he did to your parents and siblings, he doubted that they really even cared at all.
So the next day, after another torturous day of school with him, he comes to your home and tells your parents that you're dating and they happily agree to this engagement between you and Light because they trusted Light since they thought he was a such a smart and kind gentleman and everything.
And so, he’d eventually force you to start coming to his house more often and introduces you to his parents as his girlfriend.
Then, the news begins about Kira.
He’s constantly telling you that he’s doing all of this for you and only you, but your vision is too foggy to see his intentions.
Every time he’d splatter kisses all over your face, he’d always whisper the same two phrases over and over in your ears.
“I love you so so much, you'll never have anyone who loves you as much as me” and “I Love how obedient your being,"
Let’s just hope you’ll stay like this, light doesn’t know what else he’s willing to do in order to put you in your place next to him if you at up.
Tumblr media
Hope you enjoyed it <3

In the spirit of that reblog, could you tell me more about Luis? He's the primary whumper in lots of your writing and many of the war mages seem to sincerely loathe him, but then Mariano is shown to have a really trusting relationship with him and Luis clearly cares about the war mages at times. I haven't quite strung together the complexity of it all yet~
Ohhhh my god yeah this ask has activated my Cannot Shut The Fuck Up Disease so let's GO.
Luis is absolutely a complex whumper and hard to easily grasp. He has nothing but love and care in his heart for his mages. He's trained literally every single one since they were 18, and you can't not form a bond of some kind with someone in that time--and all of them know that he loves them. They know he would rather die before seriously, legitimately harming them on purpose without reason. They know he gets zero actual enjoyment out of hurting them.
Unfortunately, they're all special ops soldiers. People who, sometimes alone, are put in situations where they face capture and torture and unthinkable suffering. So Luis has to prepare them for these possibilities. He's seen what happens when you aren't prepared, back when he was one of the very first war mages on his own squad.
He's seen people give up and die, people he loved dearly. He's lost mages, Dimitri and Laredo's old squad, because there was an accident and (in his eyes) they didn't have training and clear guidance to fall back on (I will get to that in the stories though, it's something that informs the "you have to save yourself" standing order he has in place). Luis is someone who fears loss, especially loss of bright, young, talented mages. So he tortures them in a safe area with his own two hands, and teaches them how to read a torturer and captor, and how to mentally recover from the immediate aftermath, and how to escape even if it feels impossible.
He trusts his mages to follow his orders, and they trust that if they do what he wants, he'll treat them well. It's a basic sort of thing but it's necessary for their relationships, and generally he's very fair with not punishing them too harshly for silly stuff so he legitimately does build a good rapport with them all. If they get the training room, or are threatened with death, it's because to Luis what they did was just that serious.
Unfortunately, he does still butt heads with them, and he does still threaten their lives if they decide war crimes aren't something they want to do, all on top of punishing using their worst fears. Over time, no matter how much you love someone, that sort of abuse sours all the good feelings. The good feelings don't go away, bc when they're good they're good, but it makes things complicated.
Dimitri trusts Luis to not freeze him to death over simple disobedience, but he's afraid of him, and he hates him, and loves him, and if Luis approached him with an apology and changed behavior after prison? Dimitri would forgive him, because he was forgiven after making changes and working on himself.
All of the war mages feel similarly, really, because Luis' warmth and care isn't an act. They know that like them, he's also receiving orders that he can't just disregard. They may hate him sometimes, and they may disagree with him on fundamental stuff like "hey, perhaps stopping the war crime stuff could improve our lives in the long run", but they're all stuck with each other in a shitty, traumatic situation, so they make it work.
BASICALLY with Luis I'm exploring complex, complicated feelings about someone who has power over you, sincerely loves you, and who hurts you anyway bc I just think it's interesting! :)
