Not even going anon for this q... please give us all more parents!bucktommy!!!!
Oh lord … I’m obsessed with them as parents, so it’s not a hardship at all
I want to go back to the start though, to how this family started.
They’ve been together for a few months when they have their first talk about having kids. Buck was babysitting Jee and took her to Tommy’s place since he has a garden and Tommy can’t stop thinking about it for days afterward. Buck in his garden with a kid. The sight was just so good, the way they played and ran around together.
Tommy can’t stop thinking about it. And it’s not the first time he thinks about it, to be honest. He loved to see Buck talking and helping Christopher with his homework and anything, really. Spending the day all three of them at a museum or park while Eddie can spend time with Marisol or for himself.
Tommy actually loves to make a date of anytime they have to babysit the kids, taking them all outside, parks, museums, theme parks, beach, you name it, and Tommy took them there.
So while they cuddle one day, he just asks if Buck ever thought about having his own one day.
And Buck turns around to look at Tommy, because he feels that as innocent as the question is, it is a sign of their growth as a couple, of Tommy thinking long term and he has to face the man for it.
Buck, who talks about how he felt when he held the baby, that he helped to conceive, for a few minutes and how his life just came to a halt. How seeing Jee for the first time on her mom’s chest had his heart squeezed.
He always assumed that his life would fall in line, the wife, the house, the kids.
But if he let the wife cliche go, he still thinks that he’d like the rest. The house, the kids.
And what he doesn’t say, the husband.
Tommy just hugs him tighter and confesses that when he came out, letting go of the potential of having kids was the hardest part, but that with how the world change he wanted to believe in it again.
It absolutely unlocks something between them, this talk of the future, of a future together and of shared dream.
That’s why when two years later, after their wedding, after their new house, Hen and Karen go to them when they had a call for a little boy. A three months old. The child is orphaned, no dad or grandparents filed anywhere, and no one is still alive on his mother's side.
They already had three foster kids, in addition to Denny so having a fifth child in the house would be a challenge, one that they would embrace but when the worker asked them if they had people in mind that would take the boy they thought of Buck and Tommy.
The boys who look at each other, hands clasping together while Karen shows pictures of a small blond boy bundled up in a green blanket.
Buck is the one who asks, “what do we have to do?” and by the squeezing he feels around his fingers from Tommy, it was the right thing to say.
Thanks to Karen and Hen having been exemplary in all the years of them taking kids in, and because it’s a baby, the process is sped up. Not that it’s fast or easy.
Just after the visit, Buck goes on a cleaning spree, pulling out a clipboard and going full Clipboard!Buck on himself and Tommy. The house has never been this clean since they moved in.
The garden is mowed, plants and trees are pruned.
Tommy has even been sent on the roof to clean it and he did with a smile, seeing how serious and excited Buck was, making himself even more excited for this new adventure with his husband.
When they go back to their respective stations after their two days off, each of them gather letters of recommendation and characters from their teams, which also announce to them all that they want to welcome that baby boy in their house.
It takes them a week to have the house ready and their letters from everyone, filling their foster parents’ file with the help of Hen and Karen.
Buck vibrating out of his skin each night while they cuddle, and Tommy doesn’t count how many times he caught Buck on baby clothes websites, but he’s just as bad as him. Having screenshoted so many cute onesies, his ads are now only baby formula and toys.
It takes them one more week before they get a call back from the agency for a first visit of their house and an interview.
They have to wait for three days for a feedback of that visit. Buck is a wreck and Tommy had been asked to stay grounded with how distracted he’s been.
Finally, they get a call for a second visit at their house with two workers this time. The questions are more in-depth.
A few days letter they have a call from Bobby saying that they had a call from the agency to talk about Buck and Tommy. And a day later, Lucy calls them with the same news. Quickly enough, Maddie and Tommy’s brother were called as well.
It takes them one more month, random visits and calls before they get the call.
They can take Noah home starting four days from now.
Buck pulls the clipboard out again, but this time he enrolls everyone.
Maddie and Chimney are sent to the shop to get the formula and diapers, mountains of each.
Tommy and Eddie are painting the guest room, Noah’s room. They agreed on a soft forest green for the walls, and blue for the ceiling with small white clouds.
Buck has Pinterest boards, ok? And he’s going to make this room the best room for a child.
May and Denny went to the shop to pick up plushies and games.
Buck is finally ordering all the onesies he and Tommy saw online and baby proofing the whole house: one cupboard, one drawer, one window at a time.
Bobby making food for them all and helping where he can.
One week later, the social worker come to their house. They’re alone. They wanted to welcome him, just them. Noah will be presented on Sunday to the whole family, but now it’s Thursday and the next 3 days are theirs, and only theirs.
Buck is the one to open the door, his breathing stuttering and his blood pumping in his ears, until he fully opens the door and his eyes fall on the car seat where Noah sleeps and everything quiet down.
He hasn’t felt this calm and quiet since his and Tommy’s first kiss, but after all, his world is changing again today and shouldn’t it warrant the same reaction?
The worker enters and does a last inspection, more a formality than anything else, but it could still mean that she’d leave with Noah.
She goes around the house and leave Noah in his seat in their living room where Buck and Tommy can’t stop looking at his sleeping form.
Finally, she comes back from her inspection and sees how they are hugging and looking at the seat and she can see how excited they are, how much they already love the little boy.
“Do you want to take him?” she asks, and Buck looks at her with watery eyes and nods.
She goes to the seat to free Noah from it and carry him toward Buck’s, who’s himself held by Tommy, and she very gently places Noah in his arms.
Tommy and him looks down at the boy. They know that for now it’s only a temporary placement, that anything could happen. But Noah is in their arms now and they couldn’t feel happier or more complete.

🔥 for whatever you want to talk about
You already know about this unpopular opinion, but that post I made about Maddie scolding Eddie every time they've interacted on screen is currently going around, and everyone's like "we need Maddie Eddie bestie-ism" in the tags, and I am still SO against that. I find it so much funnier that they barely interact and Maddie treats him like just her little brother's annoying best friend, and I love the idea that they butt heads regularly when they're in the same space. Like, Maddie just wants that man to stay OUT of her house. She knows how much he loves Buck, and she absolutely trusts him with Buck 100% (and she'd even trust him with Jee, no question), but when they're in the same room together (especially when Buck is present because Buck and Eddie together are just SO stupid), he annoys the absolute hell out of her, and she mostly just wants to throttle him.
So I am very against Maddie and Eddie interacting more. They would NOT be having wine nights together or hanging out on the regular. Though if they ever somehow ended up, like, full on drunk and in the same space, all bets are off, they'd have a ball, but ONLY in that specific circumstance, and then they would never speak of it again.
Send me a "🔥" for an unpopular opinion.

🔥+jealousy bc i need to fuel my anti-jealous eddie tag
godd, i hate fandom's obsession with jealous!eddie. mostly because it's not even true to his character, because 90% of the time, he actually doesn't give a fuck about buck's relationships (beyond being protective when he thinks buck is gonna get hurt). and i've seen people say that him being jealous of buck/tommy is the only narrative device that can be employed to get him to realize his feelings, but i just...don't agree? for one thing, i'm firmly of the opinion that eddie on some level recognizes what he feels for buck, he just genuinely does not believe that he has a chance, regardless of whether buck is straight or not. for another thing, even if eddie weren't aware, i don't think jealousy is the correct device to use here because then the question arises (for me, at least), why wasn't he this threatened by buck's other (more serious) relationships? because we're tipping dangerously close back into the rhetoric that buck's relationship with tommy is So Much More Special and Amazing because tommy is a man, which, i think i've made my feelings very clear on how biphobic and misogynistic i think that sentiment is. and i don't think eddie is gonna automatically start wondering why buck isn't considering him as an option just because he likes men. i think eddie's issues with self-worth run way too deep for him to reach that level of...conceited? i guess is the word. anyway, all this is to say i just don't think it's true to his character lmao.

73 & 94 Elucien?
73- Stranded Due to Inclement Weather & 94- Hair brushing/braiding 😩🥵
Oh this is a great one. It involves my favorite tropes, which is forced proximity and also soft, intimate touching. Here is the idea that came to mind.
Lucien and Elain are on a ship to the Continent, perhaps to Vallahan or to start their adventure against Koschei. It’s a secret mission for obvious reasons so that’s why they did not winnow there with assistance. Let’s throw in the added tension of having to pretend being a married couple because why the hell not. This isn’t a trip of luxury. This is urgent, necessary, and they must be incognito. Therefore they book cheap passage in whatever they can find. Which, to both of their horrors, is in the form of tiny little bunk beds in shared spaces.
They make it work. Even if they’re back-to-back on the tiny little top bunk bed they’re sharing, doing their absolute best to not be awkward. Then their ship hits a gods-awful storm. The kind that rocks the entire ship, water is leaking everywhere, lightning and thunder shake the room. Crashing waves that make you feel sick. Everyone is tense and afraid. One particular terrifying strike of lightning and groan of the ship has Elain turn over suddenly to face Lucien.
She’s almost mortified. But fear trumps embarrassment. Lucien doesn’t miss a beat. He pulls her into his arms.
With her ear pressed against the drum of his heartbeat, she finally feels safe. Her head is tucked under his chin, but he absentmindedly finds himself brushing her hair, running his fingers through the long curls down her back. Maybe that action alone makes him feel safe.
They fall asleep like that, in each other’s arms, even after the storm passes.

Soulmate au + married to the job 🤭
Here you go!! Hope you enjoy :)
George massages his forehead.
“Is it getting worse?”
“Yeah.” He answers Alex. “I can’t believe that man is doing this to me.”
Alex snorts. “You can’t believe Lewis is staying behind to go over data and not notice that he has a headache?”
“It was a figure of speech, Alexander.”
They are quiet for the rest of the walking distance to Ferrari.
Charles walks through the door, his eyes glued to his phone.
“Charles.” George calls.
The Monegasque jolts, a shriek escaping him. The edges of George’s mouth curve up while Alex laughs next to him.
“Don’t do that,” Charles says. “You scared me. And stop laughing, Albono.”
“It was funny. Did you hear the sound you let out, mate?”
Charles pouts. Alex steps forward and kisses it away.
“Alright, knock it off,” George says. “No need for PDA.”
Alex pulls away from the kiss and rolls his eyes. “You cannot be talking. You and Lewis are worse.”
“Which reminds me…,” Charles chimes in, “good timing. I was gonna just call you.” He shakes the phone in his hand. “You need to get Lewis out of here. Your man doesn’t want to leave the room. He has been there since morning. I don’t think he even moved once.”
Alex whistles. “No wonder your headache was so bad.”
“Where is my man?” George questions.
“You have a headache?” Charles answers his question with a question.
“Yeah. So where is the reason for my headache?”
“Come on. I’ll take you there.”
George and Alex follow Charles through the Ferrari facility until he stops in front of a room and pushes the door open quietly. George steps into the room and closes the door behind him.
Lewis is sitting in front of a computer. A very shirtless Lewis.
Now, look, George might be here on a mission but that doesn’t deter him from appreciating the tattoos adoring Lewis’ back, especially when his muscles flex.
“As much as I love this sight—”
Lewis spins around in his chair, his eyes widening before he realises who it is.
“—I would love it even more if it was at home.”
“George?” Lewis frowns, rubbing his eyes. “What are you doing here?”
“I reckon I should be asking you that, mate.” George approaches Lewis and comes to a stop right in front of him.
Lewis places his hands on George’s waist as he settles on his lap. The chair creaks under the weight of both.
“I know you’re married to the job but you’re also married to me,” George continues. “And I would really like to be home right now with my husband.”
“What are you talk—” Lewis cuts himself off and reaches behind to grab his phone. “Fuck! I didn’t notice the time.”
“Yeah, clearly.”
“Should I be worried about how calm you are?”
George presses his thumbs into Lewis’ temples, earning a groan first and then a sigh with a shut of eyes.
“I can get mad after we do something with that headache.”
“How did you—” Lewis’ eyes fly open. “Is your head hurting?”
“Terribly.”
“Shit! Sorry, I can—”
“Finish that sentence and I’m already telling you right now that we won’t be having sex for a whole month.”
Lewis knows how much George hates it when he closes off their soul bond, even temporarily. George despises it.
“Right, sorry.” Lewis clears his throat. “I’m so sorry, baby.”
George softens. “How about you make it to me by coming home and sleeping it off?”
Lewis smiles, stealing a kiss from George. “Yeah, I can do that. Let’s do that.”
George slides off Lewis’ lap and extends his arm, pulling Lewis up when the older man puts his hand in his. “Let’s go home, my love.”

34 for Al and Hawkeye, please?
Let Me Count the Ways ask game
Prompt: "I'll keep you safe."
Maybe they shouldn't have stopped for burgers and shakes. It was pouring rain out there, and the temperature was dropping fast. Might turn into freezing rain before too long.
But Five Guys was their tradition. Riza drove Al to speech therapy, and as long as he didn't drag his feet or have a bad attitude about it, they would stop for a late lunch on their way home. They even had a little ritual they ran through each time, just for fun. “Hmm, where should we go for lunch?” Riza would ask, pretending to think. Then Al would hold up one hand, grinning along with the joke, and Riza would say, “Five Guys?” as if she never would have thought of it on her own. Then they would both laugh like it was the best joke they'd ever heard.
The only time Riza got to hear her foster son's voice was when he laughed. It was worth it.
“Got your scarf and gloves?” Riza asked, opening her umbrella before putting one hand on the door.
Woolen blue fingers wrapped around her arm. She glanced down and saw Al huddling close to her as if for warmth, eyeing the door with trepidation. Riza tugged the hood of his blue coat over his head, then wrapped her arm around his shoulders. “Don't worry, Al,” she murmured. “I'll keep you safe. Let's just run, and it'll be over in five seconds, okay?”
Slowly, Al nodded.
It was more of a huddling jog than a run, and it took more than five seconds because Riza had to juggle both the umbrella and the key fob, but they both made it into the car relatively dry. With a relieved sigh, Riza tossed the sopping umbrella to the floor on the passenger side and turned on the car, cranking up the heat all the way. She swiped her damp bangs out of her face and checked on Al in the rearview mirror. He was buckled in and shivering hard, hugging himself and rocking slightly. He looked like he wanted nothing more than to be instantly transported home. How she wished she could spare him the drive.
Riza decided the best thing would be to get home as fast as possible, so she didn't say anything more to him, just started the windshield wipers and eased back out of their parking space. “These wipers are useless in the rain,” she muttered, squinting through the smeared windshield and turning on the defroster. She needed to text Roy and see if he could pick up some replacements on the way home.
As she headed for the highway, Riza mentally ran through her to-do list. Once they got home, she needed to call the phone company to see if the issue with the bills had gotten sorted out. She should peek into the boys' bathroom and make sure they'd cleaned it like they were supposed to, and then she needed to clean her and Roy's bathroom. By then it would probably be time to start on supper, and oh, was today a karate day and had Roy said he could drive the boys or—
The loud blare of a horn startled Riza out of her thoughts. A semi, slipping out of control from the left. Moving on pure instinct, Riza slammed her foot on the gas and aimed for the shoulder. The semi slipped and slid on its way, and they jostled and bumped over the muddy grass. Riza managed to stop before the ground fell away into the ditch. Hands shaking, she pulled the parking brake and turned on the hazard lights before letting out a long, slow breath of relief.
She looked over her shoulder to find Al hunched over in his seat, his gloved hands clawing at his face as he drew in shaky, shuddering breaths. “Al? Are you okay?” No, that was a stupid question. “Are you hurt?” she amended. “Alphonse!”
The twelve-year-old boy peeked over his hands at her, but she could tell that he didn't see her. It was like he was looking through her, to another rainy day in another car with another woman sitting behind the wheel as a truck came out of nowhere....
“Al....” Riza unfastened her seatbelt and clambered over the center console, squeezing between the front seats to get to the back. It was difficult and inelegant, but she managed. Better than opening the door and letting in all that cold wind and rain.
As she settled into the seat next to Al, she listened to his frantic, choked breaths that came faster and faster with every passing minute. He wasn't looking at her, just staring fixedly at the driver's seat. Occasionally, his eyes slid over to the front passenger seat as well.
Riza's heart clenched tightly as she imagined what he must be seeing. Trisha Elric, forehead resting on the steering wheel, blood trickling down the side of her face, her vacant eyes staring into nothing. Ed, trapped under the twisted metal, blood spreading up his left leg. Still breathing, but so shallow, so erratic, eyes closed. No response to Al's screams. The last words Al had ever spoken, a desperate plea for his family to not leave him alone.
She hadn't been there. She'd only read reports from after the fact, and talked to Mrs. Rockbell and the boys' therapists. And yet, she could see it all as clearly as if she'd lived it herself. She could almost hear those screams.
“Mom...Mom...Mom....”
Wait. That voice, ragged and faint, wasn't just in her imagination. Tears sprang to her eyes as she heard that one word whispered in wheezing gasps muffled behind blue gloves.
She could have listened to that voice for hours, but Al was shaking so hard she actually thought she could feel the car rocking slightly. So Riza scooted a little closer, saying as gently as she could, “Al? Can you listen to me, sweetie? I need you to breathe with me.”
His eyes latched onto hers, and for the first time since they'd swerved off the road, he actually seemed to see her.
“That's right,” Riza said, reaching for his hands. “Just like we always do, okay?”
He let her take his hands in hers and pull them away from his face. Riza led him in a deep breathing exercise, and found that her own heart rate eased as well. The adrenaline from their near miss was beginning to wear off, leaving her feeling exhausted and limp. She almost wished she'd brought Hayate with them after all. They both could have used the soothing comfort of his soft fur and warm, wet tongue.
“We're okay,” she whispered, reassuring herself as much as Al. “You're safe now. We're both safe.”
Just like every time thunder and lightning put Ed on edge and sent Al skittering into their bedroom to crawl under the covers. Roy would get up to make everyone hot chocolate, Ed would crank up his music so they could hear it faintly through his headphones, and Al would curl up like one of his cats against her side, and they would all cram into the king-sized bed to wait out the storm.
“Mom,” Al croaked again, his voice rough from disuse. “Mom....”
Tears spilled over his cheeks, and Riza reached over to gently brush them away. “I know, honey, I know.” Hot tears stung her own eyes. “I'm so sorry.”
“Mom....” Al raised one gloved hand and placed it on her cheek. He was looking at her so intently, so earnestly, like there was so much he wanted to say, but he was stuck on that one word, choking on the sobs that shook him head to foot. He put his other hand on her other cheek, as if to hold her in place. “Mom....”
A thought occurred to her, as sudden and shocking as the semi that had nearly hit them: He's calling me Mom.
Tears blurred her eyes till she couldn't even see him. “I'm here,” she whispered.
He flung his arms around her, squeezing so hard it took her breath away. She hugged him back, held him tight, squeezed her eyes shut against the tears. She rocked them back and forth, patting him on the back.
Riza had always known motherhood would be strange for her, who had never known the gentle touch of a mother. When she and Roy had first talked about starting a family, she had been plagued with doubts about whether she would be able to manage it. A thousand times, she'd tried to imagine herself rocking a baby to sleep, kissing the skinned knees and bumped foreheads of a toddler or two...and she'd always drawn a blank, since she'd never had that herself. What if she could never get the hang of it? She was a soldier, not a mother.
And yet, sitting in this car on the side of the road, holding a twelve-year-old boy sobbing his heart out...it didn't matter that she hadn't given birth to him. It didn't matter that they'd only known each other for a little over a year. It didn't matter that they'd never once had a normal conversation.
This was her son. She loved him so much she thought her chest might split open with the force of it. And judging from the way Al kept sobbing that name over and over again, clutching at her like his life depended on it...he felt the same.

have seen some people claim that that buck didn't want to/had no plans of calling tommy after their first date went wrong and only did it because eddie told him to and was wondering about your thoughts on that? (for the honesty hour thing, lol)
Hi, anon! This is an interesting question. To be honest, I haven't really seen any specific conversations about this, so I don't really know the context.
But just, personally, I think this is an interesting point to think about. I mean, first, I think the question of whether Buck wanted to call Tommy and the question of whether he planned to call Tommy are two very different questions.
In terms of wanted to, I absolutely think he wanted to call Tommy again. That boy was so smitten, even after their date disaster.
But while I think he wanted to call Tommy again, I don't know that I think he would have without Eddie encouraging him.
Because I think he had kind of resigned himself to the idea that he fucked up too badly and Tommy wasn't interested anymore and maybe he really wasn't ready. I think Buck struggles a lot with contending with his own feelings and sometimes feeling guilty for them, and I also think he probably didn't want to push Tommy’s boundaries, either, especially after the date had gone so bad when they'd run into Eddie.
So I do think Buck needed that push and encouragement to take that step to call Tommy again. And Eddie was probably the one he needed it from. Because Eddie has always provided a unique type of support for Buck. Because Eddie's primary concern when Buck is in his head about something is to make sure that Buck not only takes into account his own feelings, but also allows himself to feel them. Eddie asking Buck what he thinks? Asking him to consider his own feelings amid this new discovery about himself he's still working through? I think that was something Buck really needed to try to process what he was feeling and examining it probably helped him decide that it was worth at least trying by making that call.
So, yes, I do think Buck wanted to make that call. But no, I don't think he would have without Eddie's encouragement.

🔥 + Buck being Chris’ other dad
buck isn't chris' other dad. not yet. there's obviously a lot of set-up and a very good foundation for him to become that in an official capacity—his relationship with chris is certainly not the typical relationship between 'best friend of the parent and their kid'—buck obviously occupies a very special and important place in the diaz boys' life. but he isn't chris' other dad. eddie is the one who is actually raising him, providing for him, feeding him, having the difficult conversations with him, helping him cope with his traumas and struggles, etc. buck is not in that place, yet. of course, eddie has invited him, occasionally, to be in that place—like when he asked buck to talk to chris about dating. but it's not a position that buck is currently equipped to take on unilaterally without eddie's input. i'd also go one step further to say that it's not guaranteed that chris would immediately be okay with buck stepping into a parental position in his life, once he and eddie get together. this season has proven that his abandonment issues run deep, and they haven't been solved magically by shannon's letter. it will likely be a long and difficult road for all of them.

When I was a kid like around 8 or 9 years old I had a crush on the digital clock in my bedroom but only when it was 10:30pm. I would be in bed and I'd wait for it to become 10:30 and then I'd image I was talking and flirting with it. The reason it was only at 10:30 was because at 10:30 it kind of looked like a face to me, the 1 was the mouth, the first 0 was the nose, the : were the eyes and the 3 were the ears. In my imagination he (the clock) was a pig. Idk why that's just what it looked like to me
I love you
