came across this small opinion piece and they just said what i've been thinking so well:

In the episode of the podcast I just posted, one of my guests says that, traditionally, one of the important elements of Kpop was the intertextual relationships. We see group members on variety and dramas and commercials and get to know them through these lenses, adding another dimension to our enjoyment of their songs and performances. These media appearances also bring in new fans to the group. [...] This is a very traditional way for idol groups to become popular.

So, let’s circle back to Cha Eun Woo. He’s not a dance, rap, or vocal ace but he has something equally valuable to Astro--numerous and popular drama roles and brand endorsements. Cha Eun Woo is known the way idols used to be known. His extremely handsome face isn’t just some random idol on a birthday advertisement in the subway, it’s recognizable by normal people. Cha Eun Woo is a huge asset to a group like Astro. His popularity not only brings new fans to Astro but also helps open doors for other members. “Oh, he’s in Cha Eun Woo’s group” is a much more compelling hook for the average viewer than “Oh, he’s in one of the dozens of idol groups I’ve never heard of and have no connection to and whose name goes in one ear and out the other like a puff of smoke.”

I’ve written about this before but views, streams, physical album sales, etc. are transitory measurements. These numerics that the young generation of fans have been trained to see as the ultimate prize are just numbers. It’s understandable that fans are being encouraged to value numerics by the big Kpop companies because it keeps fans engaged on the fandom treadmill, buying and streaming and spending hours voting on music show apps like their lives depended on it. But it’s not all that valuable to the idols themselves--certainly not as valuable as having a member who is known by the general public for his drama roles and handsome face. I don’t know where the idea that every group needs to have attention evenly divided or that one member can’t have solo work if others don’t have solo work entered into fandom but I have my suspicions. While there’s nothing wrong with fans advocating for their favorite member to have more solo work, I do think there’s something wrong with fans advocating to hold a member back as I’ve sensed has been the case from certain corners with Cha Eun Woo. The long term health and success of a male idol group in the mold of SMAP--which is what very much Astro is--depends on the members having strong individual images and brands outside of the group. The idea that the members have to do everything together at all times is unworkable in the long run just as the idea that a group can rely completely on the obsessive streaming and viewing and buying of a core group of fans is unworkable in the long run. This new generation of foreign fans has lost those intertextual connections. “KPop” has increasingly become isolated not just from old subculture spaces where fans mixed with anime and Jpop fans but even from mainstream dramas and variety shows and Korean show business, generally. It’s led to this odd bubble where the most popular groups among stans barely even have name recognition in Korea outside of Kpop fandom. It wasn’t always like this.

After warbuild Bumblebee, what about civilian build Blitzwing? Maybe him and Astrotrain swap places with Jetfire and Jetstorm so Blitz being a seeker still fits, as well as keep his experimented on backstory. (bright colored, small Blitzwing give me serotonin) I just imagine that being a grounder turned seeker, he had to get used to a bunch of new instincts and he thinks he’s got them down to a T. But when he shows up on earth with the elite guard and sees Bee, Blitz feels like he’s going haywire. He’s fluttering his wings, purring his engine, collecting nesting material, he just turns into a lost puppy for Bee and he doesn’t know why. (And Astro is just laughing his aft off at him lmao)

Let me understand: So Blitzwing is originally Autobot and gets into some weird project by accident and gets turned into a seeker. I assume no personality split n face-swapping so he's just really expressive, possibly mood swings? For the size; i think Ratchet is like almost twice Bee's height so Blitz and Astrotrain(i had to google who that guy was, i assume he's also a seeker in this one) are about Ratchet's size if not a tiny bit smaller. I thought what the pre-TC Blitzwing would look like(he's a seeker) and i think this Blitzwing would be similar to the one i thought of: he'd have cream and indigo palette with some black accents, he would have warm grey faceplace with sharp denta and one-optic visor(like this but blue). I also think he'd have purple optics cuz yes. Both him and Astro are small-class jets.

He works with the prick Sentinel and Astro and then they show up on earth to aid the missing repair crew and- oh.

Blitzwing meets the cutest and kindest and wildest minibot ever. Love at first sight, literally. Bad news? He doesn't know what love is. He has been raised in an orphanage and he's never developed any feelings towards anyone since he had no one to be there for him, and then the deal with being turned seeker happened and there were only other scientist trying to explain his new situation, no emotional comfort. The closest to a friend/family was Astrotrain who he was paired up with during and after the project. Astro is not good with explaining emotions and Blitz is not good with understanding them, so the only 'comfort' they had was Astro sitting with Blitz and chatting to ease the bad emotions.

Then all of a sudden Blitz feels so interested in the new bot and literally tries to spend as much time with him as possible. His wings flutter whenever he sees him and the moment Bee speaks to him he smiles. Bumblebee instantly warms up to the new guy and really enjoys spending time with him. He tells him about things he likes, shows him around the city, even teaches him how to play video games. Blitz would show off his art skills and carve some gifts for him.

Bulkhead and Sari would be jealous of how much attention this seeker-bot is getting from Bee, Prowl would be a bit wary. Astro is teasing Blitz about hanging out with Bee so much but Blitz doesn't get it. One time when Blitz and Bee are chatting he mentions he never really understood his own emotions and Bee suggests talking with Prowl since he's all about mindset and mental wellbeing n such. So he ends up at Prowl's and only then discovers he's fallen in love. Prowl keeps it a secret and Blitz is trying to come up with a plan on what the fuck to do. He's never been in love! What is he supposed to do now?! Prowl advises to confess and even gives a few tips on how to go about it with Bumblebee.

Blitz knows what Bee likes, he's seen romance movies with him after midnight, he knows what a proper confession would look like- by human standards, which Bee is into so that must work right?

He ends up spilling his plan to Astro who turns it up to extremes; if Blitzwing's original confession idea was a nice calm picnic at the river with candy and flowers- wrong, they are going flying under stars and possibly skydiving, and then Blitz will do tricks with his ice-powers and then Astro will do fireworks in shapes of hearts from hiding. Perfect love confession!

Except... almost nothing goes according to plan. Sure, Bee agreed to go flying with Blitz, but they almost crashed into an airliner, Bee fell into the cold lake, then Astro accidentally set the forest on fire, which Blitzwing thankfully put out, but that didn't really cover the damages it caused. It was a disaster, and both Optimus and Sentinel weren't pleased with it.

After that Blitz avoided Bee in fear that he will be mad at him for the ruined "date". Bee was in fact upset, but not at what happened. Sure it sucked being dropped into a lake and having to put out a fire but overall, it was exciting. He hasn't done anything like that since his time in boot camp. He was upset that Blitzwing decided to just straight up ditch him after that and he didn't know why. He decides to go to Prowl for advice and Prowl internally facepalms realizing neither of them knew they we're in love. He just tells him to go talk with Blitzwing honestly.

So Bee does, the next time he sees Blitzwing, he drags him to a secluded spot behind the plant and makes him explain himself. Blitzwing, having run out of excuses, (figuratively) bares his Spark and dumps all of the emotions on Bee without leaving any room to breathe as he speaks. Once he's done he covers his faceplate and awaits the reaction. They stand there for minutes until Blitz decides to peek and sees Bumblebee absolutely shaking with joy, he doesn't get a chance to say half a word before he is pulled in for a kiss. Just like that, Bee also dumps all his emotions out on Blitz. Both of them just freak out, squealing in joy and hugging each other- and Blitzwing may or may not have returned the kiss a hundred times over, all over Bee's faceplate.

Then they go and have a proper date- they have a picnic at the river, flowers, candy, then stargazing after watching sunset and cuddles. Just like in the movies. They didn't tell anyone where they went so after they do come back they are being scolded, but that doesn't affect them in the slightlest. They just blurt out they are Sparkmates now and were on a date the moment someone asks them the reason why they were gone for two whole days without answering their comms.

Honestly, this is so cute. If i actually do adopt this AU i will add a tag on this post. This is too fuckin cute. Even if don't know shit about the Astrotrain guy. I wonder where the Jettwins end up tho? Do they just not exist in this? Are they decepticons? Hmmm...

Theory: MH370📝✈️

This unfortunate incident has happened in 2014 and has left a huge mark on me for reasons I don't know so I wanted to check and share the Astro weather that day. I will focus on the negative manifestation of each placement because so was the event.

Backstory- The flight took off at midnight on the 8th of March 2014. Went missing around early morning at 3am (Malaysian standard time). Communication with the flight has been a problem along with the fact that the flight flew off-course. Very little debris has been found after searching far and wide in the ocean and the summary remains "inconclusive". This has attracted a significant amount of attention because they couldn't find debris until years later, most of which is still questionable. You can Google this if you want to know more.

The skies on the 8th of March,2014 -

At 12:42 am in the morning (take off time) rising Sagittarius and 12th house in Scorpio- could be a coincidence that the rising is in sag, which usually denotes expansion, travel, long distance, flights, and countries. ( the flight was one of the biggest passenger airplane models and was flying from Malaysia to China). The 12th house represents the unknown, fate, fear, unseen realm of sorrow or shadow- and it was in Scorpio ( the sign of death, transformation, karma)

Sun in Pisces at 17 degrees in 4H- 17 degrees is a Leo degree, that too a long-term fame Leo degree 9no wonder it was all over the news). Pisces is the sign most connected to the higher unknown realms, something confusing. A trance. There was a looming confusion over where the aircraft is and how did the incident come about because everything seemed ready. This whole placement generally explains the characteristic of the incident.

Moon was in Gemini- conflict

Saturn was in Scorpio at 23 degrees ( in retrograde from 2nd march 2014)- the planet of karma was in the planet of death, transformation, and karma in a Saturnian(Aquarian) degree.

The North node was in Scorpio at 0 degrees- the beginning of a cycle. north node in Scorpio does not mean death, but you might deal with this concept at least once or might have lessons to learn related to it. The 0 degree is a powerful degree when the purpose and lessons for a period of time unfold and that too in the north node in the sign of Scorpio 9 the sign most related to death, rebirth, transformation, disaster, and karma.)

Neptune was in Pisces at 5 degrees in 3h- again another Leo degree. Neptune, the planet of illusions is in its own ruling sign Pisces. one of the most fascinating but also something to be a little careful about. Reading the news reports I realized that the biggest drawback in the whole incident was the communication. It was not proper and the timing wasn't right.

Chiron was in Pisces at 13 degrees- The sun was conjunct Chiron in the 4th house, both in Pisces. The problems arose from the time the aircraft left its home country.

Black moon Lilith in Leo ( the pilot has a Leo stellium btw)- black moon Lilith is a point in the chart where you can experience power struggles, suppression, or downfall.

Astro weather - Jupiter and Neptune are dominant- In my opinion, Neptune is the kinda scary planet out of all, not that we should be scared of planets. it's just harder to figure out which is like it's nature anyway. Neptune signifies dreams and illusions but it can also make things distracting, foggy, and confusing. The outcome is never expected. In mythology, Neptune and Jupiter are brothers, IDK why I'm even mentioning this.
