In honor of the rookies reunited video (not sure if you have seen it but it's George, Lando and Alex) who do you think has the best individual PR.

Hey anon, thanks for the question. Gave it some thought and I think its Alex, especially at Williams. His shift in PR from RBR to Williams is actually a fascinating study in how PR image can be rebranded. Out of the three he is in that sweet spot where he can be more serious, and more playful, people love how he interacts with other people in both personal and professional relationships, and the way that his pets are a part of his brand is also good.

One thing that makes Alex's PR particularly advantageous over Lando and George is how easily he can shift it into other interests with little pushback about whether or not he fits into a space.

Lando has two very distinct associations: gaming and golf. When he operates within these things, people like it, they feel it makes "sense", but when he steps outside of those things like when he did the vanity fair spread, or when he was in British GQ, it did not go over so well because those arenas are considered to be outside of his domain of interest.

George has this association that I can best describe as what people imagine when they hear "old money aesthetic". Obviously within the F1 fandom especially in the context of his friendships with other drivers people may say he is very funny or goofy, but when you go to his social media, his interviews etc that is not what is projected. Its very clean cut, sometimes features his girlfriend Carmen, he is at places like Wimbledon etc. There is a very clear mental image of where George should be, and where he is likely to be. For Alex, it is a lot freer, it is almost like there is a certain level of spontaneity (real or not) to his PR image. Unpredictable but not in a concerning or threatening way. He might dye his hair, he might be seeing Lily play golf, he might be spending time with his pets, he might be in x random place.

There is a very light approach to his PR which also makes it easier for him to position himself in a profitable way (like with the merch based on his pets) but also maintain a certain level of privacy that people do not interfere with for the most part. We can probably get into this on another day, but his girlfriend Lily also having great PR further helps him because in the case of male athletes in particular, being associated with people who have their own careers (especially in sports, academia or something widely recognized as being difficult) tends to have a net positive impact. You also see this with people like Valtteri Bottas, Travis Kelce and such. That is, of course if people that an athlete associates with tend to be in the public eye, it is a bit different when someone is more private like Sebastian Vettel's wife, but again, that is a topic for another essay on another day.

Now, to be fair, plenty of people are comfortable being in one particular lane PR wise, or may only have a select number of interests that do not change. However, sports is a fast paced environment with the kind of marketing that changes practically overnight, and so the most advantageous PR anyone can have, is one that allows them to shift gears with ease.

Whether it has to do with interests, the spaces they are in, or the people that they get linked to, the best PR is the one that can transform with little pushback, often because audiences trust in their perception of the person's authenticity, particularly in the context of social media. In sports PR, audiences want to buy into the perceived earnestness of an athlete, and that is why an athelete's individual PR is this extremely delicate balancing act. Professional athletes cannot sell relatability in the same way other kinds of celebrity/public figure can because professional sports involves the understanding that the people participating are exceptional, and therefore a lot more emphasis goes into things like perceived earnestness, authenticity and humility, and when athletes participate in or associate with something that is not associated with their PR image, the pushback can get very extreme. So when the PR is like Alex's which is to say, is dynamic, it means that there is a lot more opportunity to leverage it, because there are more arenas and spaces to go into with it.

The clear example of this is the move from RBR to Williams and how he came out of that with a positive image. RBR is not great at PR, and athletes tend to be in it, and subsequently leave it with a somewhat negative image, one which tends to continue to crop up, even after they leave, with the exception of maybe Daniel and Alex was no exception to that public perception. Part of that successful semi rebrand of Alex is having a very dynamic PR brand that combines a personality that people like, with a feel of closeness without being overly revealing. The balance of how he interacts with his audience is really well done.

(by first lenguage isn't english sorry if there's any mistake or if i get to techilical)

Out of them Tachihara and Tetcho are the only figure skaters, but that doesn't mean the others are not atheletes

Fukichi was a hockey player when he was younger, and an olympic athelet at the same time Fukuzawa was so, hockey player x figure skater, but make it childhood friends to crushes to exes without even dating to strangers. Fukichi is now Sports and Culture minister and works to support diferent winter sports fedesatiosn, because those ones tend to be played less atention

Jouno I haven't planed a lot, because i want to research on paralimpic winter sports for blind or partially sighted atheletes but I haven't had the time, my first idea was skiing

Teruko is a hockey player, captain of the Japan woman team

Tetcho is the one with more development because I choose him as the same countru rival for Chuuya, so he's a figure skater but he's a more powerfull one. Lots of quads, simpler choreos and steps sq, plain outfits.... take Nathan Chen as en exanple. Or maybe even Keegan Messing (if you make him seruous intead of goofy, but that kind of power). Like, his edges are never called, he tends to overotate triples, and his spins tend to be lower level because he's not very flexible, but he's a really good skater. He always choose clasic japaness songs as music.

Tachihara i'm working on his part of the fic rn! He was a single skater, following his brother footsteps but never really got anywhere, so when he joined Yokohama Stray Club, they suggested he could change into pairs. He was paired with Gin, and neither of them were happy with it at first, but then they realized they were a good team (trained under Hirotsu eye) and stared to say: Hey, what if we fuck up with the ISU???? So they skate to punk music, wear the same costumes (Gin doesn't wear a dress), do reverse lifts.... everything the ISU hates. My inspo for them is mostly. I don't really have any inspo for them, because most skating pairs still lean more into ellegant and clasic sides of the discipline.

But (even if they're ice dancers and not pairs skaters) Lim/Quan have pretty much the vibe I want for Tachihara and Gin: happy and defiant

Jimin is laughing at something that Taehyung said when he looks at Taehyung and sees the look on Tae’s face. “What?” Jimin says, his tone light, as he is trying to figure out way Tae is frozen in place. Suddenly, he looks around him, thinking that Tae must have see something. The only thing that he sees is the thing that makes his veins feel like they’re full of ice. It’s you.

it felt useless, but you refused to lose hope, so you called a mutual friend of yours

changbin had been your favorite coworker bang chan’s workout buddy for as long as knew him

he had offered to be a personal trainer after he overheard you talking to chan about not knowing how to balance your workout schedule and volleyball practice

you’re covering your team’s middle blocker as they go up to hit, completely disregarding the possibility that it’ll hit off the blockers hand and back onto your court

and it’s too late when you realize it because it that fact doesn’t go through your head until the ball is coming towards your head

.....the same head that had just fully recovered from a concussion a few weeks ago

“oh shit!” is all that leaves changbin’s lips.

your concussion was big news so when the ball comes in contact with your body, everything goes silent

the only thing heard in the stadium are gasps, a whistle, and someone running down the bleachers?

you on the other hand, are only focused on the sound of the security guards trying to prevent someone from getting onto the court but alas they fail

you hadn’t even realized you fell onto on the floor until you feel someone sitting you up and letting you lean back against their arm

“why am i on the floor?”

“y/n...you just got hit in the head! again!”

“what? no i didn’t.”

changbin, in his head: ‘oh my god she can’t even differentiate her body parts.’

“that’s it, i’m taking you to the hospital.”

sooner than later though, the coach ushers the two of you off the court, subbing someone in so that you can really double check that nothing bruised your brain again

your teammates don’t even try to hide the wink they send changbin when they suggest that he should be the one to take you to the first aid station at the tournament convention center

one of them even goes as far as to mentioning that you might get dizzy and lose your balance so you should hold onto changbin’s hand just in case

in the moment, you’re glaring at them and shaking your head for them to stop

but you can’t even complain as he continues to hold your hand as you sit on the chair to wait for the nurse to print out a concussion symptom checklist sheet

“wait, did you really care about me that much to come flying down the stairs and jumping over the blockade?”

changbin only flushes, shrinking into himself when he feels your eyes on him

“i care about you enough that i’ll do anything to make sure you’re always okay.”

Since @the-rambling-maiden gave me the kind of validation that makes one cry with joy. I couldn’t wait to publish part 2 of Mahabharata High School AU. Ik it’s too long I’m sorry 🥺.

Yudhishthir:

Tries really hard to excell, still is barely above average.

Is driven by the idea that everyone likes him while most of his classmates find him plain annoying. Some of the teachers too.

Is the headboy because for some unknown reason Bheeshma likes him and no one likes to disagree with the principal. Dhritrashtra tried opposing but no one really listens to him.

this kid, Krishna ran a campaign that convinced everyone that Yudhishthir is the best headboy they could have. Without that he had no chance.

Everyone else just accepted and now listens to him because that’s what Krishna wants.

“Okay I’ll give a very interesting lecture in Moral science class.”

- everyone, even the teacher struggles to stay awake.

Draupadi:

Head girl.

Has witty comebacks to everything.

An all rounder.

Looking at her, everyone wonders why someone as under achieving as Yudhishthir gets to be the other school captain.

Changed her name to Panchaali. But everyone still calls her Draupadi. Doesn’t like it, but has made her peace with it.

Is EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY beautiful.

Really tall, really husky, Fitness freak.

Is stupid, but it’s okay because he’s also the good-est boy in town.

Not very bright academically.

Doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.

Literally the BEST basketball player, but all everyone in school seems to care about is soccer and track events :/.

Has anger management issues which land him into trouble very often.

Nakul:

Is a year younger to everyone in his class.

Really cute, really handsome. Is also well aware about this.

Is not much of a ladies man but SO MANY PEOPLE have crushes on him.

Is practically never seen without his guitar and bestf, Sahadev, who is the only one who shares his birth year.

Can be found giving out personalised skin care routines for fun. And Sahadev, being the brains of the duo, charges in cash, that is how both of them get their pocket money.

Goes to the restroom after every period to make sure his hair are still on point.

Has a successful band. Obviously he’s the lead.

“Wow! Who is this beauty!? Oh my God! This is why I use mirrors as mood boosters.”

Sahadev:

Smartest kid in the school. School topper.

Can talk about random trivia for hours, and people like listening to him.

Is either in the library or hanging out with Nakul.

Hates school A LOT.

Sahadev doesn’t attend a lot of classes because he knows teachers aren’t of any help to him.

Always attends maths class, even though he doesn’t like Sir Shakuni. Prolly because he wanted to be Shakuni’s fav but Shakuni only likes the bad boys. Sigh.

Is a walking human encyclopaedia.

Krishna:

Still ships Draupadi and Arjuna for some reason. Even though he treats Arjuna’s girlfriend as his younger sister.

A Krishna-Shakuni Feud is the best source of entertainment.

Krishna seems to think that every body who disagrees with him is absolutely wrong and would go any length to make a point. Is also sort of disrespectful to the teachers he doesn’t like.

However, has a very captivating charm that makes him most people’s favourite. Shakuni sees through his well planned schemes because he has fully functional brain cells.

Loves his friendship quadrant and a girl from some other school who visits often, a lot.

A feminist. Hates the school’s rule book in a positive manner.

Karna:

Soccer team vice captain.

Here on a scholarship.

Every girl with daddy issues is head over heels for him.

Uses Hating Arjuna as a personality trait.

Also uses his love for Duryodhana as another personality trait.

Has lots of rumours about him. He doesn’t care because all he cares about is defeating Arjuna.

A lot of students ship Draupadi with him. It’s just stupid. Both of them dislike each other, but are too evolved to care about stupid rumours.

Is extremely generous.

Since the owner’s kid, who is RICH is his bestf, he never misses a chance to slide a meal from the overpriced canteen to any one who forgot lunch.

Suffers from classism and tries very hard to fight the inferiority complex he gets because most kids around are super rich.

Dronacharya dislikes him, he dislikes him back, however, still tries to win him.

Has abandonment issues.

Some say he looks upto Ma’am Kunti for validation.

The cricket coach, Pashuram, likes this kid though.

“Are you challenging me Arjuna!?”

Duryodhan:

Thinks too highly of himself.

Being the owner’s kid makes up for half his personality. The other half is his devotion towards his beloved Karna.

Is probably bi and Has a not so subtle crush on his bestf.

Has another personality that is devoted to trying to convince everyone he should be head boy.

He once started an intervention demanding “Duryodhana should be headbody” and he was also the leader on the intervention. Karna was unwillingly in his support.

Is Sir Shakuni’s favourite bratty kid.

Only listens to Shakuni or Karna.

Comes up with evil and downright mean mischiefs but always fails.

He once tried to full on flirt with Draupadi but got his a*s whooped.

Tried to sabotage Yudhishthir’s reputation but Krishna’s interference led him to fail.

“Where’s Mitr Karna!?!? I get anxiety when I don’t have him or Sir Shakuni around for long!”

“I should be headboy! No head girl. Karna should be headboy 2.”

Dushasan:

Befriended Duryodhana first year of school.

Looks up to Duryodhana. Only imitates his bad qualities. That’s it, that’s his entire personality.

Even Shakuni who loves bratty kids, dislikes this one.

Has more haters than the headboy. Except people hate on him openly.

Total failure.

A bully.

Dushasana can be found in the last room on the third floor of the oldest block very often. That’s the detention room.

Tries to flirt with every girl around, and girls just ew this creep AS THEY SHOULD.

Doesn’t have a personality of his own.

“Dury Bro! HOW DID YOU DO THAT? CAN I TOO PLEASE?”

Sikhandi/Sikhandini:

FEMINIST.

Gender fluid and ready to teach a lesson to anyone who invalidates her.

Strong and independent.

Important member of the soccer as well as the cricket team.

Also, a star athelete.

Has a very strong bonding with Ma’am Amba because VERY similar.

Sikhandi/Sikhandni can be seen gossiping with Amba on the stair case a lot, some claim to have heard them trash talk Bheeshma.

Bold and not afraid to stand for what they believes in without caring about the consequences.

Once they gave herself a third ear piercing, using a compass when Kunti told her a double piercing was a distraction after Yudhishthir complained about it.

Emerges as a parent figure to juniors who are bullied for being different.

“As long as you have the right intentions you’re valid okay?”

Drishtdyum:

Introvert.

Minds his own business.

Manages good grades and a spot in the sports squad.

He found out he shared his birthday with the Draupadi in second grade. Loves her like a sister since then.

The basketball coach sees some spark in him that no one else does.

Is liked by all but doesn’t get the attention he deserves.

Is pretty content with life in General.

Ashwatthama:

Soccer coach’s kid.

Is self aware.

Realistic and practical.

Dushala’s favourite teacher is Gandhaari. Probably because no one else gives the teacher validation and Dushala doesn’t like when someone is sad.

Jayadaratha:

Terrible person.

Only the size of a grain of sand better than Dushasana.

Started Dating Dushala Sophomore year.

Dushala really wants to break up with this jerk but she’s too sweet to hurt someone even as terrible as him so she just avoids him.

Once Draupadi slapped him in public. Dushala cheered the loudest.

Is only relevant because of his girlfriend.

Bhanumati:

Says Duryodhana is an excellent boyfriend.

Corrects her man when he’s wrong.

Is also close friends with Karna.

Led the intervention against the “Duryodhana should be headboy intervention.”

It hurt Dury but it’s okay because Bhanumati has her own thoughts and he respects that. Guess he is actually a good boyfriend.

Yuyutsu:

Is very lovable.

Boy has no hater.

Is everything you’d wanna fix in Yudhishthir.

Vikarna:

Counsels Duryodhana on Yuyutsu’s advise.

There isn’t much to say about him. Dude’s a good guy with humanly flaws.

Feels stuck in Dury gang but has made his peace with their ways.

Dushala, Yuyutsu and Vikarna are often found gossiping with Ma’am Gandhaari, she often warns them about how their other friends are bad kids and they should not get influenced.

“Why!? Because yuyutsu says so that’s why!”

Eklavya:

Here on scholarship.

This poor kid was bullied so much initially when he joined school because of his economic status.

Coach Drona wouldn’t let him into the soccer team because he’s afraid someone might out shine his favourite.

Stays away from the dirty politics in school.

Became a star athelete despite all the odds he faced.

Eklavya was once locked in the washroom before a 100m race on the sports day. No one knows who did that for sure. Although some people claim to know it was Coach Drona.

Rukmini:

President of the theatre club.

Crushes on Krishna for an unknown duration.

Krishna does give her attention because EXCUSE ME, she is impossible to ignore.

Rukmini befriended Nakul in the corridors as they bumped into each other after every period, while going to/coming from the washroom to check their respective hairdos.

Satyabhama:

Is Draupadi’s psychological twin.

President of the debating society.

Another one of Krishna’s closest friends.

The school is full of Satyabhama-Krishna shippers. But their friendship quadrant knows Krishna is smitten by this girl from some other school.

Radha:

The girl from some other school.

Probably goes to an all girls convent school.

Is shy but can be seen having a a gala time with Krishna after school. Friends w Subhadra too.

Nobody in school knows much about her but it’s evident Krishna and her are 11/10 soulmates uwu.

Rukmi:

Rukmini’s twin brother.

Is overly protective of his sister.

Thinks he’s well sorted but almost always creates a mess.

Has some sort of minor feud with Krishna.

Is neck deep in a very toxic friendship with Shishupal.

Shishupal:

Rebel without a cause.

A headache.

Wants to fight Krishna but is scared of him.

Wants to join the Dury gang but no on lets him in.

Shishupal is known to spread the most problematic rumours in school.

Hidimbi:

Stays occupied in her small social circle of not so popular kids.

She’s famous, though doesn’t talk to many people.

Proposed to Bheem in middle school.

Bheem gently turned her down because he was already mad about Draupadi. Hidimba moved on with life without sulking about it. Probably still likes him though.

Also, really close to this Ghatotkutch person who is in fifth grade.

Ulupi and Chitrangada:

Dated Arjuna for a few weeks each.

Then bonded over how he’s not a good boyfriend and not as perfect as everyone thinks he is. they do have a point though.

Are now bestfs and don’t like anyone else in school.

some of yall may remember my volleyvall au, but here is the updated role list! as far as how the au goes:

theres no adventuring nor extreeme life threatening stuff, so all the kids go to school. duckburg is a small town, and the school they go to isnt known for anything sports releated currently. in the past, the volleyball club within it was known for being a powerhouse and harboring some of the most talented professional atheletes, though the reputation fell off overtime as the principal, scrooge, started being less attentive towarrs the school after the loss of his niece. webby is determined to change that, so she scouts hdl and other ppl to join the volleyball school team and win back their tittle as champs and discover more abt themselves along the way.

Fun Facts: Aster

1. All human versions, but Royalty version and the few that stuck to the countryside to forest, of Aster are actually dying. He is slowly drowning in his own blood. (Basically the pollution and such in the air are leaving little cuts in his lungs, his case isn’t really treatable)

2. He is a dumbass despite being highly intelligent. If someone says he can’t do something or won’t, he has a habit of going out of his way to prove them wrong. Because only he can say he can’t. (Which leads to trying win dares and bets often, no matter what the win gets him. Doesn’t care about the winnings, just cares that he proved he could or would) {applies to all versions even undamaged}

3. Human! Aster is an athelete, he actually despises sports but again did what he was told he couldn’t. Mostly stuck to track and gymnastics, he knows to be fast and flexible.

4. Most versions of Aster know music, they can play and they actually like to do so. Though Nov!Aster doesn’t like to sing publically nor aloud, they all can sing and they are enchanting.

5. All human!Asters are allergic to strawberries, the majority have a habit to forget when they go out shopping because they are actually used to seeing it in their cabinets and such. His mother loved them and so did his uncle, he lived with his uncle longer and he had way more.

6. Aster is actually hard to unnerve, he ignores things pretty easily. From scary things to threats. He’s pretty good at ignoring them. Even his necrophobia he can ignore, as long as it doesn’t touch him or happen to be so close that he can’t ignore it. (Pretty much, he can’t really ignore it. But he can avoid showing on his face what kind of terror related meltdown he’s having in his head)

7. He loves messing with tech, loves creating things. Hell, if he loves you he’ll make you something. (Like @mythologyvincent Aster made Vincent a robotic cat and a music box -which he broke and then fixed again before giving it to him-) but he has to really trust you too.

8. Aster only truely trusts you if he gives you the whole of his first name -that being Astera, meaning star-like and loving-. He actually distrusts people entirely if they know his name without him telling them. ( sorry to say this but so far @mythologyvincent and @tenaciousthief are the ones he trusts the most. He’s growing to though.) Human versions of Aster will actually only truely trust you if they give the whole of their name -being Astera Erling Aethelweard, Erling means Nobility or Noble’s child-. Nov!Aster doesn’t know his mild name, what writings of his name he does have he can’t read.

9. Aster actually has pretty poor vision. One eye sees in black and white, the other in colour. He’s also pretty dyslexic and at certain times for certain lights has very blurry vision.

10. Aster in every au usually doesn’t have parents or is about to lose them. In most cases they are already gone. He has only one surviving family member, that being his older brother. (There’s only about two or where Cyprus is younger than Aster. But for the most part Cyprus hates his sibling either way) {there is one where his family is alive, but he’s pretty much on the line of being dead}

11. Aster has an unhealthy love for caramel and licorice, he fucking loves the stuff. More likely to jump someone for caramel, or snog the hell out of them if they have it in their mouth.

12. Aster is a kissing fiend, he’s also kind of a flirt. (Tone is more so of one) As much as Aster doesn’t like touching people, he mind nor care about getting liplocked and tongue tied with someone. Whether he knows them or not.

13. His soul is shattered into several pieces, six of which make up him as a whole. -leading to different personalities to each-

14. Nov!Aster has a less than happy childhood. With only slight good points.

15. Royalty Aster as a whole has a God’s soul inside of her, she is the only version of Aster that identifies as her birth sex. She’s not entirely comfortable with it, but she is from a time at which somethings were just unheard of or odd.

16. Most human! Aster’s are mob kids. Born into the mob, raised to take over it. Not much of a childhood, especially when child is both in and out of hospital and occasionally kidnapped. There’s about two or three aus where he’s straight up already been on his own and only knows the foster system. (To which he hates, and is a definite runaway from the system)

17. For the beauty of vampires and other blood lovers. Human! Aster’s blood is clean and wild in taste, a bit bitter but not awful. In fact it’s more spice than bitterness. On occasions it does lack that certain taste to know there’s oxygen in his system, his illness makes it hard for him breath sometimes so sometimes there’s a lack.

18. He wheezes, its only noticeable when he’s a sleep.

19. He is actually a bit more of dog person, but cats love him. Cats have always been in his life. {Nov! Aster has an ancient cat named Hades, he doesn’t remember when he got the cat just that cat is fucking old. Like he had it in the 1920’s and it’s nearly 2020.} They follow him. Even the ones that don’t like people.

20. He looks and smells female for the most part, only really has a male scent when on heat. (Not sure why animals that hate men would hate him, because he looks and smells like a lady. They’d have see and smell him when he’s in heat to know he’s not entirely)

21. Sometimes his body overreacts to temperatures or sensations and he has a bit of an attack. It’s most towards places being too hot or just a bit too warm for him, its usually a seizure. (Nov! Aster will seizure and shape shift as his body freaks out)

22. He has a foul temper and does lash out when angered. Either verbally or physically. Usually physically. (Nov! Aster has murderous tendencies. Human! Aster will just cause harm or throw someone to the floor)
