speaking of bundles i've been following the updates about the bundle Games for Gaza, which was from last year, and the lack of response and transparency from itch.io

you can read the organizer's thread here:

tl;dr essentially itch.io has completely ghosted them since December, and MAP has NOT received the $365k that was raised. both the organizer and MAP separately reached out to itch.io with no response. apparently itch.io's payout system is notoriously bad, but itch.io has failed to do their part within the timeline they set with no updates and no communication. since Esther posted, Leaf (the founder of itch.io) has gotten directly involved, but the funds have still not been passed on to MAP.

worth stressing this is apparently not a unique circumstance and is typical of itch.io payouts.

really really disappointing behavior from itch.io. that money at this point genuinely could have saved lives. i've been posting about the other bundle that's planning to raise money for the PCRF but after this i would be wary donating through itch.io. i'm waiting to see exactly what steps Leaf is going to take to make this right.

Yesterday, I saw a listing for a double geodesic home that was a total mess- black mold and everything. Today, I came across this beauty built in 2011 in Newton, Illinois. 4bds, 4ba, and only $365K.

The 2 story main entrance hall looks like a condo entrance with an open loft, lovely stairs, and I think that the black ceiling gives it the look of a planetarium or observatory, doesn't it?

Spacious living room and open concept kitchen.

What a lovely kitchen. I like the subtle mural on the wall. The only thing I would add would be a backsplash.

I don't think I've ever seen a dome bedroom with a fireplace. Very nice.

Lovely en-suite.

Cute 2nd bedroom.

Isn't this nice up here? Look at the floor. I like this a lot. There's even a fireplace.

Spacious bath, also up here.

This is such a nice idea- the connecting room between the two domes is a conservatory.

Above the garage is a guest or in-law suite (I think it could be a rental apt., also.)

Not exactly open concept, but it has double arches to the kitchen. Above is an open loft.

This is so nice. A compact kitchen with a dining area.

The bath is a neat shower room.

The main floor primary bedroom has a built-in window seat/nook.

Upstairs is a neat loft with sleeping areas divided by pony walls. It can also be an office, etc., it's a flex-space.

A deck goes completely around the main residence and right to the garage.

The 2 car garage with the apt. over it.

The home is on a 3.47 acre lot.

Looks cozy all lit up at night.

Louis is not prepared to meet one of the old incarnations of Harry, and it absolutely tears him up.

there's been a slight update on the itch.io charity bundle mess. an organizer of an upcoming TTRPG charity bundle for Palestine has posted a thread on twitter explaining that itch.io has now changed the way their charity bundles work, making it so that the charities involved have to be onboarded (able to accept payment) before the bundles start. obviously i think this is a good idea, and i'm surprised this wasn't already the standard. however, this is not the root of the problem.

here are the updated charity bundle guidelines

this particular one is interesting to me:

i don't doubt moving that much money is difficult, i think most people would expect delays, but itch.io is the one who set the timeline for Games for Gaza. it's not even that they missed the deadline, it's that they completely ghosted everyone involved. so only time will tell if this problem will actually be addressed and fixed.

the specific TTRPG bundle has had to change charities due to being unable to get into contact with the original charities they planned to raise money for, and are now raising more money for MAP. the other bundle, Palestine Relief Bundle, which is raising money for the PCRF, had a last update on February 27th, waiting for submitters to finalize their entries. hopefully that means this one will not be delayed any further.

as far as i can tell, Leaf has made no public acknowledgement of the delay with Games for Gaza, and i also have been unable to find any confirmation yet from the organizer that MAP has received the $365k. disappointing that there has still been no transparency or real response from itch.io.

Where New York politicians stand on Palestine

The majority of Democrats in DC, despite their voter base being overwhelmingly in support of a ceasefire, refuse to disavow the genocide in Gaza or call for ceasefire.

They are able to do this, to disregard the outrage of their constituency, because they feel certain that no matter how many letters we send, we will show up and vote for them when the time comes. They are certain their actions have no consequences.

Senator Chuck Schumer has received about $526.5k from Israeli lobby groups since 2019. He refuses to call for ceasefire. This is his going rate to endorse genocide.

Senator Kristen Gillibrand has received $174k from Israeli lobby groups since 2019. She refuses to call for ceasefire. This is her going rate to endorse genocide.

10/26 New York congressional representatives are Republicans. None have called for ceasefire. Palestinian genocide is core to the Republican platform.

Of the 16 Democrat representatives, only 4 have called for ceasefire. The following NY Democrat representatives have called for ceasefire. They were not swayed by money received from Israeli lobby groups.

Nydia Velazquez, 7: not swayed by $8k from Israeli lobby groups this cycle, nor the $12k the cycle before that or the $250 in 2020.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 14: not swayed by the confusing $27 from Israeli lobbyists. Received nothing last cycle and $150 before that.

Jamaal Bowman, 16: received nothing this cycle and not swayed by the 26.5k last cycle. Incomplete data for 2020.

Paul Tonko, 20: not swayed by $9k this cycle or the $17.5k before that or the $5k before that.

The following NY Democrats refuse to call for ceasefire. The amounts listed after their names are, apparently, what they consider fair compensation for enabling genocide. Incredible amounts of money have been heaped upon them by Israeli lobby groups, with a significant increase between 2020 and 2022. The Israeli American PAC was a top individual contributor for 5/12.
