Ayre is a strong candidate for the ultimate FromSoft friend, gf, wife, et al. She’s actually with you for most of your journey and until the end, sometimes beyond the end, is Incredibly Supernatural (in relation to what we know), is well-adjusted and stable enough to understand the implications of our actions and that of others, but also is down with murder and doesn’t really seem to mind the mercenary wetwork lifestyle, seemingly enjoying it, even (at one point saying that she “enjoys the routine”), and even finds 621 jobs when she can.

The two of you got in Contact after the valve at the Watchpoint got busted in what amounts to the psychosymbiotic equivalent of crashing into each other while running late for school, Ayre was like “Huh. What the hell. Hey.” then Balteus showed up, Ayre said “Jimminy fucking christmas that’s a cop and it wants to shoot us, KILL IT” and you’ve been figuratively and literally inseparable after that, which makes sense, killing a supercop together builds rapport.

look i understand the urge to make Ayre a whispy thin anime girl because her vibe is “friendly ghost that pushes you to be better” and that is a vibe with a Look but. Listen. Ayre human-sona’s based on her Final Boss form. Huge legs, twice your height, muscles, huge mane of red hair. C’mon.

Still gentle and kind and supportive Ayre, but now she can pick you up like a puppy and tell you how much she believes in you while you’re dangling in her grip like a weasel.
