Ik Albus hasn't done much wrong, but if a dark curse has been made and used (killing a pureblood- even if it is a blood traitor), dumbledore will be blamed, or could be, right? And they (Potters) would have enough money and power to get their compensation, in whichever way they take it, wouldn't they?

I wonder about Sirius too, but I these are some, that, as far as I know, haven't been asked and it's intresting side for me. Like we know Sirius and lots quality from head to toe but all we know about his parents are that the are old, rich and loving. And that they have a big heart.

let’s take this one by one:

1. i…don’t know of flea was in the DMLE actually? 🤔 wasn’t he a potioneer? and no, i don’t think we have anything for effie but idk why, i like to think she’s a socialite with like. an enchanting business on the side? (v random ik lol but it’s fun) i’m also gonna plead the fifth on this one since i…might include it in the fic and i’ve got a few options i wanna go with there (depending on how i do the macro characterisation for the —are they ruthless, forgiving, more upset than angry etc etc)

2. definitely think they’ll take action against the school, tho, regardless of however they choose to deal w snape personally! they’re def the type to hold authorities responsible for their actions (and lack of) and i do think they’ll push for some outcome pretty hard. idk about getting dumbledore sacked bc,,,if he’s the only one who can keep the school safe during voldy’s rise… not sure that’ll happen.

3. i do err on the side of wealthy potters so i think they’ll have enough money for whichever route they take. i tend to think of them as like…new money types who’ve earned through inventing and travelling? so they earn a lot, and spend on fun things, and it’s a constant cycle. but they don’t have the kind of…historical prestige that the ‘old families’ do tho they enjoy a nice enough reputation.

i haven’t said a lot here, but i do think that a part of them will be diverted towards taking care of sirius as well, because i firmly believe they considered him a second son and they can see how much it’s affecting them and fhey’re the only other ones who get it, right, how devastating the loss of james potter can be. that being said, i find it very, very possible that they’ might ‘die of a broken heart’ and i don’t say that all that lightly. from what we get: james is a surprise child after years of trying to elderly parents. he enjoys a level of pampering and spoiling and unconditional adoration that’s far above the normal avg amount a child gets, imo, and i think after he was born, his parents poured everything of themselves into him. james was effie and flea’s entire world, and they never hesitated in showing it. i totally see them as the kind of overprotective, almost helicopter, parents who panic when their child gets even a scratch on their body—so for him to die? for them to bury their child they wished for so strongly and celebrated as much as they were able to? it’s the definition of heartbreaking. it’s so, so painful, and neither of them would be able to get out of the bed for days or even keep so much as a piece of toast down or do anything, really, for a while.

when they find out the news, effie lets out the most gut wrenching, grief-filled scream, falling to her knees. flea tries to hold onto her but he’s even weaker and both of them just. sink to the ground over their baby boy’s body. not one person had a dry eye around them. no one has seen such a level of shame on dumbledore or mcgonagall’s face before. it might be the first time snape realises the *magnitude* of his actions.

For the reincarnation Jimmy thing, I like to think that all the different versions of Jimmy are reincarnations except for Last Life, Double Life, and Empires 2, who are all the same character. I'm pretty sure X-Life, Third Life, and maybe Evo (not sure on this one) could be a separate iteration of the same character as well but i'm not 100% certain.

now that's an interesting perspective! i've never thought about separating the life series from each other. I always assume default that everybody who went through it are the same versions of themselves.

I tend to treat Evo > X life > Traffic series Jimmy as definitely all one person, because that's specifically what is relevant to my headcanons/fanfics for Lonesome Dreams. the throughline from listeners > canary curse/omen > watchers and death game is really easy to follow in my eyes.

it's the empires seasons that I have difficulty placing. i think it's very possible that empires S1 is a reincarnation because the whole ancient sea monster, small cracked egg thing etc is very standalone. References to 3rd life in S1 can also be explained by past lives, since I think they do sort of reference it as like "another world" (or maybe i just read too much fanfic and forgot what was canon.) Empires S2 also seemed standalone to me, but in the same universe as S1 of course....except for the double life memories, and knowing the hermits, which calls the continuity back into question yet again.

and don't even get me started on trying to wrangle all this into a functional timeline WHILE taking into account pearl, santa pearla, gem, scott, etc or while taking into account everybody who remembers jimmy from other series.....

the only true way to make it all exist within the same character is to take a "realistic" approach and just say that every server they're on has gimmicks and stuff they play with, similar to what the CCs are doing in real life. but in doing that you inevitably sacrifice the seriousness of the lore

reading the end of hiagb made me realize that when following along live i'd read a lot more of it than i thought and it's fun that it's overarchingly how a nut and a bug launched into space b/c of being sick of the world & into a temple at the edge of time & not-actually-infinite versions of themselves re: every [alternate timeline based on different choices/possibilities] can coexist in the same world with every bug tasked w/launching every nut back to the temple for reasons re: maintaining things and all the looping is disrupted by one bug who dated their nut and another bug whose quantum leap error was rectified by being teleported into another nut. the One System Error in an iterative process, one organic Idk Things Just Went Differently This Time As They Always Could've But Maybe Otherwise Virtually Never Did And That's Enough "that's / [one is] all it takes" vs "it's all the same / what's the diff" loops. no rules

Standard Instruction Hindi vs Vernacular Hindi vs Hinglish has constantly been on my mind after I heard an international airlines keep Seat Belt/सीट बेल्ट in their translated airline instructions instead of using कुर्सी की पेटी, which is a standard term used by all Indian domestic airlines in their Hindi instructions. This, among other things, like instead of using a standard 'धूम्रपान निषेध' for 'No Smoking' or 'निकास' for Exit, etc, perhaps are indicative that the airlines had someone in the crew (likely someone not familiar with standard airline Hindi but someone who can confidently speak Hindi) translate things. These terms aren't frequently used in daily speech and it is totally believable to me that someone who uses and is accustomed to English instructions only wouldn't be able to pick out the exact terms native Hindi speakers from majority Hindi speaking countries would be more used to hearing in standard regulations/instructions. It gets even trickier with online environments since those places are even less regulated per se in terms of language. If the idea is accessibility, using 'होम' instead of 'मुख्यपृष्ठ' sorta makes more sense - easier to read, shorter to remember, not a difficult non-Hindi word. But a company's budget and resources towards translating things sometimes limits the extents of that and sometimes that means either retention of non-standard "Hinglish" words (Seat Belt) or using dictionary words with no colloquial context whatsoever 🤷‍♀️ Ultimately, the goal with any translation should be accessibility imo, but I think corporations often don't go all the way with that due to some very understandable limitations. Honestly, consulting a few native speakers who either use government language or standard instruction Hindi as part of their jobs would do, but I doubt IT companies do that. Even more difficult if your company isn't based in India at all!

#last post like this for today i promise i promiseee 🤗 and i say today cuz i make zero promises for tomorrow lol SORRY #it is weighing soooo heavy on my mind like it is just so. idk it's gonna sound silly but like kinda like it makes me sad it breaks my heart #cuz i really did only see the surface level of it cuz i just idk i wasnt exploring official stuff sk heavily i really was more in the fan #made stuff realm in middle school. so it's like to just go back through so much phase 1+2 art and just get. hit with that image after image #it like. hurts! it's silly as fuck to say but it does! like im filipino! im asian! and the band i love treats and depicts asian people #in a very racist manner. and a lot of the white fandom has never been very kind to poc either. cuz they'll love the characters but when #black or brown people say hey. some of this is really really bad. they get really mad at us. a lot. like listen i love russ i love noodle. #but there is no way to defend almost anything jaimie and ppl involved in the writing have depicted them. #and i dont know. it just sucks to remember. it just sucks that's all there is to say. so much of my fandom experience in middle school was #having to learn how much racism lies within fandom. and how much white people just hate us doing anything in fan content. #or just seeing us as fellow fans.or seeing poc depicted in their media. i didnt have a very fun fandom experience in my early t(w)een years #static.soundz

#rat rambles #Im starting to feel better tho Im betting within a day or two Ill have made a full recovery #but I just have so many things I wanna draw all the sudden and its killing me #its because I've been thinking abt ocs again and that gives me a lot more options lol #in particular I've been thinking abt marci and toon more again recently #its just the two of them flirting in their mutual workplace environment with toon being dead serious and marci doing it ironically #the main thing is that marci was rly under the impression that toon like. hated her and was taunting her since they're friends with loonie #who long story short is marci's ex childhood best friend who she fell out with after the death of loonie's mom #the two are not on good terms in the slightest and marci knows very well that loonie would want her dead if she had been more honest #so as toon starts to like get more casual and like genuine with marci as the two spend more time together marci warms up somewhat but still #doesn't rly see toon as a friendly figure until they take her out to a museum and marci kind of snaps a bit and asks toon to stop beating #around the bush and is caught off guard when toon seems genuinely kind of hurt and meekly explains that they were just trying to help her #because she had seemed rly stressed and sad all the time and they thought that their lil dates had been helping her relax a bit #that confrontation left marci initially feeling confused but after the initial shock she was mostly left with a sense of dread and guilt #partially because she had just snapped at someone who she had grown to care abt for no reason and partially because she now felt that she #was hiding stuff from toon that would cause them to change their mind on her immediately if they knew #aka that she and loonie are divorced and that she thinks its mom sucked absolute ass (which she did) #oh and also that she used to have a crush on the guy that killed its mom who was also his mom which is also the reason she hates said mom #said mom treated him (aka midas) like shit and tried to get him killed several times #so when all hell broke loose marci at the end ended up mourning midas much more than his mom who everyone else was mourning #including loonie since it actually had a very positive relationship with its mom and a very distant relationship from its siblings #now marci never admitted all of this to anyone but she did act on those feelings to eventually lash out at loonie causing a huge fight #basically she yelled at it for being pushy and clingy and forcing her into a job she didnt want and expecting her to solve all its problems #the two dont necessarily hate eachother but they definitely heavily resent eachother #they still often long for eachothers companionship but not nearly enough for either to wanna make ammends #so toon quite liking both of them causes some internal conflict for the both of them #loonie is fully aware that toon has a big ol crush on marci but doesnt stop them from being friends with her even if it makes it sad #and marci rly wishes that toon wasnt friends with loonie but feels guilty for feeling that way #its a complicated situation and one that rly isn't helped by the fact that one of the three has the dead god queen mom #loonie could get away with a Lot and everyone knows it
