Yan Chrollo x GN Reader.
Synopsis: Chrollo is many things; annoying, chatty, selfish, petty. Especially petty.
Warnings: Yandere themes and kidnapping.
Word Count: 700.
“Petty, much?”
The damn devil doesn’t even turn to look at you. Instead, he turns to the next chapter of his book, a book large enough to easily force you or any other ordinary person into a yearlong coma if it hits your head. His humming physically hurts your ears and almost makes their drums burst, you are sure of it. You would much rather listen to his trill sonata from a gramophone and disc that is at least five times your age.
You cannot find the stuffed animal you normally sleep with. You have been looking all day while this clone of the antichrist just sits and reads in whatever the hell that language on the dusty cover is. You wouldn’t be surprised if he had made it himself, it’s only further proof that he is just an old man on the inside. Or at least half; the other part may as well be a toddler throwing a tantrum.
Maybe less than half, now that you think about it. That plush was a gift from Chrollo to you, after all, a symbol of how adorable you are or something else in that vein that made his face all the more punchable. The bunny made for a good pillow and could be used as a sort of wall whenever the epitome of hell lays on the bed beside you, trying to converse or cuddle with you.
It certainly yielded better results than biting, kicking, and hitting him at least. Your knuckles and palms still sometimes hurt. Ow. His flesh is made of iron, you know it. Maybe you should dare him to get his DNA tested to ensure that he is indeed human before speaking with you again.
You could fake an allergic reaction to automatons perhaps. Even though you were never a drama kid in school you think you can still pull it off.
You can craft yourself an Emmy using what remains of your old art supplies, though that would require having Chrollo cut the papers and cardboard for you. You bet that if he is a robot, he will eventually use up all his battery by chatting away and then shutting down.
“What are you, a kindergartener?” You move closer to his unholy throne, stomping with each step forward. “Stop acting like you are eight, you swindler, and give it back.”
It would be easier that way if he went unconscious because of his powerless charge.
If you are feeling particularly sadistic you could use electric shocks on his unconscious tin can of a body until it explodes. It would be a great thing, the sound. Like fireworks, if you avoid getting stabbed by tiny slabs of hot metal.
“Kindergarteners are ages five to six.” You could picture dreaming of it now if you can go to sleep tonight. “Eight-year-olds are typically in the grades second and third.”
“So you do admit to stealing it, then. This trial has now concluded, you have been sentenced to life without parole.”
You can hear a slight chuckle that makes you want to fall down the stairs while playing jump rope. Anything to make sure you never hear it again. “You get points for effort, darling. That wasn’t a confession, I was just correcting your utterly adorable libel.”
“Don’t talk like that to your judge, you larcenist.”
“I see you have been reading the books I have given you.”
You grumble a curse under your breath as you walk a bit closer. “It is amazing what the human mind can remember from a dictionary when there is nothing better to do. I think if I ever see my literary teacher again she’d be impressed. I’d pass with flying colors if I ever had to retake her class.”
At the sight of your laid-out hand, a slight frown appears on Chrollo’s face. “Being polite never hurt anyone, you know.”
You scoff and cross your arms, not looking at him anymore. “It hurts me every time I say anything to you instead of trying to find out how to give you enough papercuts to make you internally bleed.”
Underneath the table, you can see the rabbit plush, and crouch down to grab it.
“Take this as an act of precaution then; don’t test my limits, dear.” As soon as you look into his eyes, hugging the stuffed animal, you look away as you see what lies beneath the surface once more.
Nothing.

In a similar vein to the post about an apartment wide group chat, I think there should be a local area traffic voice chat. 'Red Hyundai Sonata with the coexist sticker, your left blinker has been on for 2 miles, you gonna turn or what?' or 'guy with the white pickup pulled over just after exit 300, you good? Need someone to call a tow?' However, too much potential to attract assholes.
There would 100% be memes about people who always keep their voice chat on mute because they know they're shitty drivers and don't want to be called out about it. And I would absolutely be one of them.

VACANT ROOM
Lee Dong Wook x fem! reader
"My dear, could you perhaps verify it one more time?" You asked, mustering the most charming smile you could manage in the face of the disinterested and nonchalant receptionist, who seemed more interested in her nails than her job. "I find it incredibly hard to believe that a reputable company like Starship would commit such a glaring oversight."
At half past midnight, the hotel was teeming with actors, singers and idols. Positioned in the center of the lobby, the luxurious building housing the assistant's desk was where you were standing. The interior exuded an atmosphere of old-world elegance, with polished marble floors, ornate chandeliers, and plush velvet drapes adorning the walls. Soft candlelight cast a warm glow over the dining room, illuminating tables adorned with crisp white linens and sparkling silverware.
Guests, dressed in their finest designer attire, mingled and conversed in hushed tones in the grand ballroom. Their quiet laughter pierced the air, merging in perfectly with the sweet notes of a Mozart sonata that drifted from the grand piano in the corner, played by a virtuoso whose fingers moved like dancers across the keys.
"I regret to inform you, ma'am," she retorted, her eyes barely leaving the glossy pages of an article about the latest trends in Seoul's fashion week. "But your company specifically requested a grand suite with a panoramic view spanning across the sea, located on the 16th floor. One king-sized bed, presumably for you and Mr. Lee Dong Wook."
"But that can't be right! There must be some kind of mix-up." Instant panic set in, your pulse going haywire as images swarmed in your mind—you sharing close quarters with him—definitely not on your wish list.
With an exaggerated sigh, she ditched her magazine and leveled her gaze at you for the first time since this little chit-chat commenced. “I assure you, there is no mistake. Everything has been arranged as per the request we received. The company was very explicit about the arrangements."
"Explicit about throwing me into a room with my ex-husband? That doesn't seem like a professional request."
"That's not for me to comment on, ma'am," she replied curtly, picking up her magazine again. "My job is to ensure our guests have the best experience. If you have a problem with your arrangements, I suggest you take it up with your company."
"But that's... it's... preposterous!" you stammered, feeling the blood drain from your face. "There must be some way to rectify...”
"I'm afraid all other rooms are fully booked. Perhaps you could address your grievances with your company, ma'am.”
"Aish…"
You turned your head to the side, spotting Dong Wook standing in the doorway of the lobby, dressed in a new, crisp navy blue suit with trousers tailored to his frame, complete with a matching tie and polished leather shoes. God, he had become insufferable since he discovered fabrics imported from Milan. This was where all the money had been going before the divorce.
Crushing the last of his half-smoked cigarette under the heel of his polished Italian leather shoes, he looked down and saw the flickering neon sign from the hotel entrance reflected in the trail of smoke.
"What the fuck is going on?”
“You ought to watch the language you use, old man,” you retorted, your thumb and index finger nervously smoothing out creases from the Chanel dress handpicked for the company's decadent birthday celebration held at this isolated high-end dwelling. “Prayers should dominate your vocabulary rather than swear words at this stage in life.”
His sharp gaze turned to you, and you could see the frustration simmering beneath his usually calm exterior.
Unmoved or maybe portraying so, you played along, “Just stating the obvious.”
A dismissive snort escaped him as he ran his hand irritatedly through otherwise meticulously groomed locks. “And if I don’t?”
You rolled your eyes, masking the unease creeping into your voice. "Then you'll just be an old man with a foul mouth, won't you? A grumpy, divorced, aging actor with nothing but a string of B-list movies to his name?"
"Better than being a frustrated little girl who got pissed by losing an award to me,” he retorted, his tone dripping with sarcasm and a bitter bite. "A little girl who can't accept that she's not the best and that someone else could actually outshine her brilliant talent."
A sharp retort tipped the tip of your tongue as you hesitated, but you swallowed it down, heart palpitating. If only the hotel was closer to your home, you'd escape this uncomfortable situation. You'd rather risk wandering down a dark, unfamiliar alley at midnight than share a room with your ex. But you were stuck here, trapped in this ostentatious lobby, miles away from any familiar comfort, forced to face whatever the night would bring.
"Can't you sleep in the same bedroom as your best friend? You two are usually tied by the hip, practically inseparable at every social event," You taunted, eyes glinting under the harsh lobby lights.
“Gong Yoo has a wife and you know it. And I'm not about to impose on their space. What about you? Don't you have other friends that came other than scripts and books? Or did they all get scared off by your charming personality?”
“Oh, you better bet that I'm charming. Maybe that's why our daughter decided to stay with me.”
Before he could respond, a bitter laugh escaping his lips, the woman at the desk cleared her throat, extending a key towards the two of you with a look of forced patience. "I believe this is what you two are fighting over, correct? Perhaps you could decide who gets the bed and who gets the sofa without causing a scene in the lobby?"
You took the key from the receptionist's hand with an exaggerated sigh, turning it over in your fingers. The weight of it felt heavy in your palm, like a lead boulder pulling you down into the pit of despair.
“Yes, of course. Thank you so much; your help was really indispensable.”
Turning back to face Lee Dong Wook, you could barely contain your humiliation as he stood stoically by your side, staring out at the dark ocean beyond the hotel's glass walls. Along with the sound of the ice cubes in his drink and the scent of his expensive cologne, the lobby was filled with the sound of the waves crashing against the coast. You couldn't help but wrinkle your nose at the cloying smell that reminded you too much of your past.
"I suppose we have no choice but to make do," you said finally, motioning for him to follow you towards the elevators.
As he settled into step beside you, the click-clack of your high heels on the marble floor created an odd harmony with his steady gait.
It was almost impossible not to gag at the stale, rich smell of warm metal and coffee that pervaded the elevator. Pressing the button for the sixteenth floor, you peered up at the metal ceiling.
A few seconds later, the doors opened with a soft hiss and you stepped out into the dimly lit hallway, feeling Lee Dong Wook's hot breath on your neck. He seemed to be waiting for you to take the lead, as if this were some kind of game, a cat-and-mouse chase that you just couldn't seem to win.
Swallowing hard, you walked ahead to the suite number indicated by the keycard.
When you finally turned the handle and pushed open the door, you found yourself face-to-face with an opulent display of luxury: plush red and gold carpets underfoot; crisp white linen tablecloths adorning an ornate dining table; fluffy duvets piled high on a king-sized bed; and a decadent bathroom beyond.
It was too much like the honeymoon suite he'd gotten you when you were still married, and your heart skipped a beat as it registered.
Butterflies filled your stomach as you set your luggage down on one of the side tables.
You turned around to face Lee Dong Wook, who was standing in the doorway, watching your every move intently, reminding you of the way Yeosin would look at you when she was planning a prank.
Well, she was his mini version after all.
You held your breath as he stepped inside, taking in his tall frame and perfect nose.
He took a deep breath before reaching up to his necktie and loosening it ever so slightly. "It's going to be a long night," he muttered under his breath as he moved closer towards the window, pulling back one of the heavy curtains to let the cool sea air and the sound of waves splashing against the shore gently lap at his face.
"I'll take the couch. It's not like I haven't endured worse accommodations while filming on location.”
He turned to look at you, his eyes narrowing slightly, an all-too-familiar gesture. “You have had back pains all the time since giving birth to Yeosin.”
“I don’t," you snapped back immediately, an automatic response honed by years of bickering.
“Yes, you do," he insisted, his tone softening. "I may not have been around recently, but I do remember. You’d wince every time you thought I wasn’t looking. But if you want to play the stubborn card here, if it makes you feel stronger, be my guest. In the meantime, you can freshen up. I'll make a makeshift bed for you, kid.”
There you stood, in the silence that followed, absorbing the sight of him.
It wasn't fair, an inner voice protested, as you took in the jawline you had kissed and nibbled countless times, the tantalizing constellations formed by the moles adorning his neck, each one a landmark you could identify even with your eyes closed, like a child eager to please and win a candy.
In the end, it wasn't fair that he could still find his way into your heart, the way a worshiper finds their way into a long-abandoned cathedral, kneeling in reverence among the dust and the decay, and still find it holy, still find it beautiful that there’s a vacant room waiting for him to lay his head.
He was the prodigal son returning to the home he once renounced, and you? You were the father left to wonder if welcoming him back was a show of futility or a sign of welcomeness.
"You always were stubborn," you retaliated, folding your arms across your chest. "Always thinking you knew best. Well, I'm not that same naive 23 year old girl you married. I can take care of myself.”
“Stop it. I have a headache right now.”
"You were always quick to jump in and play the hero, weren't you? But this isn't a drama, Dong Wook. There's no director yelling cut, no script to guide us. This is real life. And in real life, I don't need you to save me."
"I never asked to be your hero," he retorted, the quietness of his words cutting through the tension like a knife. "And I never wanted to be one. I just wanted to be there for you. But you always made it so damn hard."
Frustration bubbled inside you, "You think I made it hard? You were the one who walked away. You were the one who gave up on us."
“She’s only six,” he countered weakly. “She doesn’t understand what’s happening.”
“You’d be surprised, Lee. Kids are smart. They pick up on more than we give them credit for. She knows something’s wrong. She misses her father. She misses us being a family.”
As the words left your mouth, you could see a flicker of pain cross his eyes. But you didn't care. You were too angry, too hurt to care about his feelings.
With a huff, you turned on your heel, leaving him alone in the bedroom. As you slammed the door shut, the metal clanged loudly against the wall, echoing through the otherwise silent room. You hear the latch click into place, sealing you inside the small, enclosed space.
The bathroom was spacious and modern, with a luxurious glass-enclosed shower stall and his-and-hers sinks.
Before you was the daunting task of turning on the water to run a hot bath. The faucet gave a small shudder, like a beast waking from slumber, as it sputtered to life, filling the room with the biting smell of chlorine and the comforting warmth of hot steam. A bottle of expensive shampoo, perhaps a gift from one of his many sponsors, sat on the vanity counter. You uncapped it, and its scent—a tantalizing blend of jasmine and sandalwood—tickled your nose as you sniffed it slightly.
The room began to mist up as your fingers fumbled at the buttons on your dress as if they had a mind of their own, desperate to get out of this suffocating fabric that reminded you too much of happier times when he'd slide them down your spine slowly and carefully, making you gasp under the cover of darkness.
Heat flooded your cheeks, remembering how those fingers had once traced your entire body—the pulse point at your wrist, where his wedding ring used to be, now replaced by a thin silver band around your third finger.
Stepping into the tub, the water was scalding hot—almost too hot to touch—but you reveled in it nonetheless.
As you slipped into the tub until it was almost full, feeling it lap at your neck and shoulders, you let out a long sigh of relief.
Closing your eyes, you breathed heavily as you began to scrub the last few days off yourself.
Memories flooded back—years' worth of memories that had led up to this moment: the late-night movie marathons where you both would cuddle on the couch, the way he would laugh at your comical impersonations of movie characters, the way he would always keep the last slice of pizza for you, the way he would read bedtime stories to your daughter, his voice imitating various characters, making her giggle. You remembered his bright smile when your daughter took her first step, his eyes filled with tears of joy, the proud look on his face when she called him 'Daddy' for the first time.
But alongside the sweet memories, the bitter ones also found their way: the arguments that lasted till dawn, the slamming of doors, the sound of shattering glass, and the cold silence that followed. You remembered the canceled family trips due to his sudden shooting schedules, the forgotten birthdays and anniversaries, the vacant spot beside you in bed getting colder each day, late-night calls from agents about last-minute script changes, and sleepless nights spent worrying about Yeosin while he was off filming some romantic comedy filled with clichés and air kisses towards irrelevant starlets.
You scrubbed until your skin began to redden and sting from the heat, until all that was left was residual anger and resentment. Then you climbed out carefully, reaching for the plush white towel hanging on a stainless steel rack.
After drying off, you slipped into your silk pajamas and brushed your teeth with Totoro’s brush, the one Yeosin insisted on bringing so that you could remember her while she stayed with her Nana.
Stepping back into the suite, you expected to see Dong Wook, but he was nowhere in sight. The room was empty, save for the soft hum of the air conditioner and the distant murmur of voices from the television.
You walked towards the window, peering out into the darkness. The moon was a thin crescent in the night sky, casting a faint glow over the sea. Lee was probably out there, taking one of his late-night walks along the beach, letting the cool sea breeze clear his mind.
Turning around, you noticed the makeshift bed he had prepared on the couch. The cushions were arranged neatly, with a soft blanket folded at one end and a pillow with a fresh case. Beside it, there was a small side table with a glass of water and a bottle of painkillers—for your bruised ankles and sore legs, no doubt. Despite everything, Dong Wook was still considerate.
You walked over to the couch, running your fingers over the soft fabric. It wasn't a king-sized bed, but it would do.
Lowering yourself onto the couch, you winced slightly, feeling the day's exertion catch up with you.
You slowly stretched out your legs, trying to find a comfortable position. As you did so, you could feel the soreness in your muscles easing slightly.
Curling up on the couch, you wrapped the blanket around yourself, pulling it up to your chin.
Lying there, you found yourself mimicking Yeosin's favorite position—curled up like a small ball, waiting for her father to come home and pick her up. It was a bittersweet feeling, a reminder of the simpler times, when the lines between work and personal life hadn't blurred, when the word 'divorce' hadn't been a part of your vocabulary.
As you closed your eyes, the events of the day replayed in your mind: the party where he'd been eyed by other women, the looks he gave you when you seemed more interested in your Champaign than his speech, the receptionist's words, the look on his face, the tense silence in the elevator. But despite the turmoil, you felt a strange sense of calmness. Maybe it was the fatigue, or maybe it was the realization that you could handle whatever life threw at you.
With that thought, you slowly drifted off to sleep, the soft hum of the air conditioner and the distant sound of the sea lulling you into a deep, peaceful slumber.
-------------------------------------------------
As the first rays of dawn creeped in through the slats of the blinds, you stirred from your sleep.
Slowly blinking your eyes open, you adjusted to the soft morning light, feeling something different.
Under you was not the stiff fabric of the couch, but something softer, more yielding. You didn't know when or why, but here you are, in the king sized bed that was supposed to be Dong Wook’s.
Confusion clouded your sleep-laden mind as you tried to piece together the puzzle and heat hushed to your cheeks as you felt something nuzzling your neck, the soft sensation making you bite back a groan.
Suddenly, you felt a warm presence between your legs, a muscular thigh that was solid yet comforting. It took a moment for you to register the protective arm draped securely around your waist, pulling you closer against a firm, muscled chest.
"Wha--?" you started, your voice cracking as surprise jolted you fully awake.
Before you could react, a chill coursed through you as your shirt was ridden up, an audacious hand slipping underneath to splay across your bare skin.
"Shh, it's just me, baby," a deep voice whispered in your exposed left breast before sucking it into his mouth softly, tugging at the pink flesh with his teeth while rolling the other hardened nub between his fingers.
As he slid down even further, his tongue softly licking the valley between before finding its way into your cleavage, your mind reeled from the situation. You gasped at the feeling of his cool tongue tracing circles around the right nipple, tickling it lightly as it hardened even more under his touch.
Your hand instinctively reached up, fingers tangling in the soft strands of hair. It was familiar—too familiar. The scent of sandalwood and sea salt filled your senses—a scent you had known for years, a scent that brought back a flood of memories, reminding you of all the times he had made love to you on a beach house's balcony after one of his late-night strolls along the shore.
"Dong Wook…” you breathed out, the sound more like a plea than anything else. The name felt foreign on your tongue after so long, tasting bitter and sweet at the same time.
"Yes, it's me," he replied, his voice a soothing hum in the quiet room. "I missed you."
"I--I don't know what to say," you stammered, your mind reeling from the sudden turn of events.
"Just relax. All you have to do is open up those pretty legs and let me fuck this pussy once again.”
His tongue found its way into your mouth; you tasted the remnants of the Merlot from last night. You sucked on it eagerly, feeling him groan softly as he pushed deeper into your throat.
Hungry. You were hungry for him, starved for this intimacy that had been denied to you for too long.
You couldn't believe it—this was Lee Dong Wook, the man who had once claimed not to know how to please a woman properly, who had once slept with dozens of nameless starlets and models just to forget your name.
Letting go of your lips, his head found its way into your neck and his hand slid further up, pressing against the mound hidden by your silk pajamas.
You didn't trust yourself enough to speak, fearing your voice would betray the growing need twisting inside you. Instead, you responded by parting your legs slightly, granting him access to your cunt.
Expertly unbuttoning your pajamas with his other hand, Dong Wook spread the fabric apart, revealing all of you to his hungry gaze.
Your pussy glistened in the dim light, a testament to the tangible evidence of your arousal. He swept away your slit with one broad thumb, gathering slick and marveling at how wet and ready you were for him.
"That's my good girl.”
Unable to resist any longer, he dipped two fingers into your slick folds while his thumb continued its sensual assault on your swollen nub. Pleasure started to unfold in waves of white heat, and the combination made you utter moans.
With a devilish smirk, he withdrew his hand and brought it up to his mouth, sucking on one finger.
"Fuck, you're so wet and sweet for me, honey. Tell me, didn't any of your flings with those little boys in the set make you cum like I used to? Or were they so young that the only things they observed were these lovely curves and a treat for their hands?
His words stung, but the ache between your legs pulsed with need, completely drowning out any traces of regret.
In the haze of his touch, you were lost. It was obvious that you ought to halt him, shoo him away, and remind him of what he had done to you—severing all ties, abandoning you while he toured the globe filming and failed to remember you existed.
But the truth was that you missed him, missed the sensations his mouth could create in your mouth, and missed the way his hands could change from being rough to being gentle in an instant.
“Shut up, Lee.”
There it was, the opening salvo of a fight, but he ignored it, knowing that once you got past this hurdle, you would be his again.
He rewarded your honesty with a devilish grin before sliding his hand back between your legs, slipping his fingers deeper inside you. "Such a dirty mouth on such a pretty girl," he murmured against your skin before pressing his index and middle fingers deeper, crooking them to find your g-spot with practiced ease. “I guess I'm the only one who teaches nice manners to our daughter, huh?”
You moaned long and low, bucking against him. Your whole body felt like it was shivering underneath the touch, like a fever dream that turned into reality.
"Drop this shit before I decide to leave you with a purple dick."
"Calm down, darling… I'm just playing with you, hum?"
He pushed you down into the mattress then, holding your hips in place as he began thrusting his fingers in and out of you in a rhythm that had your body trembling with need.
You could feel the bed squeaking beneath you as you arched into him, craving more contact as he thrust faster and harder into your pussy, sliding off on to his fingers as if they were a big, thick dick.
It was perfect; it hurt and felt amazing at the same time.
“Jesus…”
A whimper escaped before you could stop it, betraying how much you needed him inside of you again.
"Yeah, that's it. Just take it," he encouraged, watching with dark eyes as you moaned his name while his fingers plunged deeper into your slick folds, finding that spot that always made you come apart.
"You need this; you need me."
He was right. You did need him in this moment, in this bed, even if it was wrong and twisted. You needed him to make you forget everything else—the cameras flashing, the public scrutiny, the anger. He'd always been good at distracting you from all that.
"Oh, fuck," you moan into the pillow, feeling the pleasure coiling inside you like a snake ready to strike. Your wetness pours down his hand and fingertips before it drips onto the comforter beneath you.
You open your eyes to look at him, seeing how he bites his lip in concentration as he works you open with his fingers, tongue and teeth. His dick twitches against your leg, eager and ready. There's no one else who can make you feel this way; there's no one else who could make love to your body with such precision even after all these years apart.
"Squirt for me, baby. I know you can, hum? Like old times.”
“I… I can't…” you whimper, but he doesn't let up.
“Shhhh, baby… Come on, you can let it out. Soak me. Soak the sheets. Show me how much you want me.” He urges, his words acting like a spell, pushing you further towards the edge.
His fingers worked faster, his thumb pressing down on your clit in relentless circles while his other hand gripped your hip hard enough to leave a mark. His other hand slides up to your throat, fingers closing around it lightly, the threat of pressure making your pulse race even faster.
Overwhelmed, you felt yourself let go, your walls clenching around his fingers as a rush of warmth gushed out of you. Your body arched as you squirted, your release soaking both his hand and the sheets beneath you.
“Dong Wook!" you scream, the words echoing in the room as you come apart under his touch.
The sensation was too much; your body was sensitive and overstimulated. You whimpered, but his fingers didn't relent, continuing to stroke your swollen nub even as your body twitched and shuddered.
As you came down from your high, your mind felt foggy, and your body was limp. The surroundings softened into a comforting mist as you sank deeper into subspace. But he wasn't done yet.
Even as your body begged for a reprieve, he moved over you, his body pressing down on yours as he positioned himself at your slit.
“W-What are you doing?” You ask, your voice weak and shaky.
“What do you think, wifey? I'm going to pound into you until you're begging for mercy. Going to fill you up so good, you'll be begging me for another baby. Want to give Yeosin a baby brother. Want to make a little version of me for her to play with. Can you imagine our son running around the house, causing trouble just like his father? But first...” he trails off, the hand on your throat, applying such pressure that dark spots form behind your eyelashes.
“First, I'm going to fuck you senseless."
Suddenly, your phone rings, the sound piercing the silence like a gunshot. You glance at the caller ID and see Gong Yoo's wife, Ji-Eun, name flashing on the screen.
Well, he'd have to wait then.
"Dong Wook, it's Ji-Eun," you try to protest, but he ignores you, his eyes dark with desire.
"Let it ring. She can wait," he growls, and before you can protest further, he thrusts into you, burying himself to the hilt inside your wet heat.
But the ringing never stops.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four calls.
With a sigh, Dong Wook grabs your phone from the bedside table, places it on the pillow next to you and answers.
Before the line could finally connect, he changes positions, seating himself against the headboard with you straddled in his lap. Your breasts bounce with every single movement, and soft moans spill from your mouth as he continues to thrust into you.
"Hello?" He breathes into the phone, his voice steady as if he isn't buried deep inside you. His free hand grips your hip, guiding you up and down his length at a relentless pace while he talks to Gong Yoo's wife, Ji-Eun.
"Dong Wook, what the hell were you thinking?" She scolds from the other end of the line. "You can't just arrange for you and your ex-wife to share a room, no matter how many strings you pull!"
Dong Wook chuckles lowly. “Well, it seems our plan worked perfectly then," he murmurs in your ear, his warm breath fanning over your skin. His words surprise you, making you pause.
He planned this?
Ignoring your shocked expression, he continues his conversation. "Listen, I appreciate your concern, Ji-Eun, but there's no need to go yelling at the manager or looking for another room. We're adults; we can handle this." He punctuates his words with a particularly harsh lift of his hips, ripping a breathy moan from your throat.
Meanwhile, Ji-Eun continues her rambling, her words becoming background noise as you frown, scratching his shoulders and trying not to lose your shit. It would be humilliating coming all over his dick only from seeing it poking your belly.
Suddenly, Dong Wook pulls the phone away from his ear, offering it to you. "I think she wants to talk to you," he murmurs, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he kisses your nose.
You glare at him, about to protest, but his hand encircles your bruised neck again, making you relent.
With a huff, you take the phone, pressing it to your ear as you try to keep your voice steady. "Hello?"
Dong Wook smirks, his hand dropping to join the other on your hips, guiding you up and down his length like a well-used doll again.
This man is the devil.
"Oh, thank God, you're there, honey." The older woman exclaimed, relief evident in her voice. "I was worried about you! I'm on my way to your room now. We need to sort this out."
Panic set in; the last thing you wanted was for her to see you in this compromising position. You had to dissuade her.
"No, wait! You don't need to do that. We're handling it. We're...we're talking things out," you lied, hoping she'd buy it.
"Are you sure? I can be there in five." Her voice was filled with concern, but you could detect a hint of suspicion.
"Yes, we're fine. Really," you insisted, biting back a moan as Dong Wook hit a particularly sensitive spot. "We'll...we'll talk tomorrow, okay? Goodnight."
Abruptly, you ended the call, tossing your phone onto the nearby bedside table, your heart pounding like a drum in your chest.
Turning your wrath on him, you struck his chest with all the strength you could muster. "I swear I'm going to kill you, you absolute jerk!”
"Oh really?" He groaned in response, the corners of his mouth lifting in a smirk. "But darling, before you commit homicide, don't you think you should let me leave a lasting heir on this divine body of yours?"
Before you could lash out again, his other hand darted out, capturing your wrist mid-air. His grip was firm effectively stopping your hand from making contact with his broad chest again.
“I want you.”
“You’re crazy, Lee! Delusional, old, out of your damn mind!”
“I’m yours too and I still love you.”
His eyes eyed you hungrily, his gaze dark with desire and something else. Something that made your heart pound out of your chest, something that made you weak in the knees. He loved you once, and he loves you still.
Or maybe it wasn't love anymore—maybe it was possession, maybe it was lust—but it felt real in that moment. You couldn't resist him, no matter how hard you tried.
“L-love me?” you husk, staring at him in disbelief as you feel his cock pulsating inside you. He pushes deeper, but you don't resist. You feel an odd mix of anger and desire, pain and pleasure, all mingling together into an intoxicating brew.
His tongue flicks out, licking your lips as he leans down, his face close enough that your noses touch. "Yes, I do," he murmurs against your lips. "And I always will." His voice is low and rough with want as he kisses you gently before plunging his hips once more.
In the end, you realized that it wasn't about fairness. It was about acceptance. Acceptance of the past, acceptance of the present, and acceptance of the potential of the future. It was about opening up that vacant room in your heart once more, dusting off the cobwebs and letting the light in.
Maybe it was welcomeness. Maybe it was time to let go of the pain of the past and embrace the possibility of a new beginning. Maybe it was time to let Dong Wook find his way back not as a prodigal son but as a cherished guest. Maybe it was time to let love bloom once more.
And just like that, the vacant room wasn't so vacant anymore.

This one is for the lovely @moonlight-sonata-1. Why? Because I can. Go check that blog out, it's good. Fluff. Domestic. No warnings. Wesker x Reader. Enjoy?
Tumblr media
Going on vacation with Wesker will not involve any hotels, motels or - god forbid - camping. The man will rent a large vacation house just for the two of you because he thinks you deserve it.
The house has a small pool, a hot tub and a large veranda. Surrounding it is a lovely garden that provides a nice spot to eat outside, but it also gives you some more privacy. Nobody can look inside, so you can do whatever you please. 'Dirty' things included, if you're into that.
Wesker wants only the best for you, so he will hire a chef to do the cooking. He will definitely ask what you like, but he'll also want you to taste things you've never tasted before. It's okay if you don't like it, but he appreciates it if you're willing to try new things.
He will go places with you. He will take you to museums, parks, and interesting locations that not many people have heard about. He doesn't like the major tourist attractions that attract a lot of people, but he will humour you if you wish to visit them.
He wants to do some activities, but nothing too extreme. Skiing, perhaps? Go on a hot air balloon together? Maybe you'd be interested in going on a proper hike? You're free to make suggestions yourself, and he will listen and entertain them. As long as he gets to do things outside, he'll probably be fine with it. Just don't expect him to go on a rollercoaster. Or camping. He will never go camping again.
At night, he loves to relax in the hottub with you. You can sit together and chat, but you can always get a bit frisky, too. Wesker won't complain… He never complains when you get frisky with him.
One thing he doesn't like is when you go out by yourself. He doesn't want you doing that, so he will absolutely argue if you do. He's worried that you'll get lost, that you'll get hurt, or even worse. He knows many people want to get to him, and he's terrified they'll try to get to him through you. He'll allow you to go out by yourself, but only if you stay in touch with him and if he knows precisely where you are at any given moment. We are still talking about Wesker here. Not everything is going to be sunshine and rainbows all the time.
He may be working even while on vacation, but you won't notice it at all. He will go to bed with you at the end of the night and lie next to you, cuddling until you fall asleep. Once you're asleep, he will carefully exit the bed to get some work done. He can't help himself. He will be back in bed with you before you wake up, however, because even he needs a bit of sleep every night. He would never work while you're awake, however, as he wants to give you his full attention at all times.
Towards the end of your vacation he becomes less interested in going out. He wants to spend as much time with you relaxing before he goes back to work fulltime. He knows it will be a while before he gets to take you somewhere nice again, so he's going to make the most of it while you're still together. You can still expect some walks and some sightseeing, but his main focus is on you. And maybe a little bit on talking about where you'll be going next, when he has enough time off again.
Just don't suggest you go camping, okay?

Oh No! Here Comes Trouble: (more) Headcanons
Look I have no excuses left. I’m trying to channel Guangyan’s academic success and only succeeding in channeling Yiyong’s. They practically owe me a season two at this point for making me the OnePer of my own life.
1.) Chuying has gotten…well. A tad bit cautious” now, never mind her coworkers’ gentle comment about her being “totally fucking paranoid,” because they didn’t have to scrape Yiyong’s broken body and Guangyan’s broken heart off the floor of a museum, leaving their own broken confidence behind, now did they? Its not really a problem. Until it is. Until she clotheslines one of Guangyan’s little college friends who’s running towards him and looking shady about it (who looks happy at school on a Tuesday? Villains. Psychopaths. Pastry chefs. Bad people, that’s who). It’s possible her boss was right to force her to go to therapy. She will not be telling him that. She maintains overcaution is best (Yiyong had laughed when he’d heard about it and Guangyan had looked suspiciously gleeful at the sight of his supposed school friend’s cartwheel through the air), so it’s fine.
2.) Yiyong’s first case post coma two (ugh) is a dead violinist trying to locate his lost sonata that it turns out his fake friend stole and killed him over. After the case is settled, Guangyan waxes on about some dumb movie called Coco and forces Yiyong to watch it. It’s after one of Yiyong’s PT sessions, so they sit in Yiyong’s bed for it. There is approximately no room and Guangyan keeps hissing about how certain people treat their guests, but they eventually create a blanket fort, largely by accident, and settle in to watch. Yiyong’s mother joins them partway through, smelling like dye chemicals. Yiyong is not upset by the story. He isn’t. He’s upset by his mom’s worn out voice as she asks random questions about the film like Yiyong knows things, he’s upset about the stupid plotting because the stupid kid doesn’t feel like he can follow his stupid passion and is missing his stupid family, he’s upset by Guangyan’s very soft hands that keep wrapping around Yiyong’s arm (annoying, clingy, he makes no move to stop him) during sad moments. So that’s why if he cries a little, it’s because he’s upset about those things.
3.) Yiyong’s mom and Guangyan’s dad have a “what the shit are the kids up to” drinks session a few nights a week. She’s convinced him to try her favorite beer. Neither of them really have many friends, but they have some very strange young people in common and a lot of silences in their lives where there used to be more people. One of their favorite drinking games involves the number of times the kids will text complaining something predictable about each other, or whether Chuying will send a vague, panicked text about something they are definitely not supposed to be up to.
4.) Guangyan has a terrible, terrible day. Everything goes wrong. He oversleeps by fifteen minutes, he gets two questions wrong (wrong???) on an exam, he drags his feet in dejection on the way to lab work and gets scolded for being “almost late,” and one of his classmates tells him he “doesn’t look great today.” In a fit of frustration at his own imperfections, he sends Chuying and Yiyong a rare introspective text wondering if he’s just the absolute most worthless, useless person ever. Chuying sends back about fifty inspirational Pinterest posts about how you’re ❤️special as you are❤️, and follows these up by threatening to come over and beat up whoever made him think this (he declines carefully). Yiyong says nothing in the chat, which he expected. But. He comes home and finds that Someone has drawn a picture for him, crumpled it up and thrown it through his window (based on the dirt on the outside, the toss failed several times). The drawing is rendered in sunset colors, and it’s of the teacups ride at the amusement park. It’s beautifully drawn, with careful detail down to the design on the teacup. In the forefront, two figures are whirling around in a teacup. One looks a little grumpy, the other one is alight with joy and shaded in with soft pastel. The caption simply reads, “The Most Worthless, Useless Day Ever.”
5.) The trio go on expeditions together—not just for cases now, but because Chuying saw a cool festival, or Guangyan needs people to come with him to this horrible networking event (and later regrets this deeply), or Yiyong gets that distant look in his eyes and needs to start walking. He likes that his people, his two people (and his high school friends, if he so chooses) will go somewhere, anywhere with him for no reason. Even just to sit on a bench somewhere. He thinks a lot on these walks. About how Chuying needs to stop second-guessing herself these days, because something hurts in his chest to see the mighty OnePer flicker with doubt; about how Guangyan always gets the same look in his eyes when he’s overworked himself and is about to fall asleep on Yiyong’s shoulder (he’s not entirely ready to examine why he always waits around on late study nights with anticipation for those moments); about how much he wishes he could have introduced them both to his dad and grandfather. He thinks about how his family is here and not-here, all still with him one way or another, and how he’s probably going to start drawing that comic again soon (after all, he did have that one reader, why not dream big?).

SOULMATE TRACKER — 15
STEP 15 strings attached
WORD COUNT 0.5k
Tumblr media
Heeseung was eager to meet you. After his friends convinced him to make a move on you, he’d finally had the guts to do it. He would keep an eye on the time while in class, hoping it would soon be lunchtime.
Although he was interested in you, he believed that spending time with you would help him get to know you better.
He sees you in the hallways as he makes his way to biology.
Coming up to you, he brings up the courage to speak to you, “Oh hey Y/N, wanna hang out at lunch?”
Startled by his presence, you uttered a yes. He smiled and left. You were a little dishevelled and baffled as to why he had opted to talk to you suddenly.
Minutes later, Heeseung was sitting between Sunoo and Sunghoon in chemistry class.
“I finally made a move on her,” he muttered. Heeseung's words were taken in by Sunoo as he raised his head to contemplate.
He looks over to Sunghoon, who is sporting a smug expression. Sunoo said, looking down again, "Good for you," and then he pulled out his phone to text Sunghoon.
Sunoo: giggling rn
Sunghoon: our plan is working 🤗🤗
Sunoo: did u bring the strings
Sunghoon: jay & jake brought red ones, jungwon brought black ones bcos yn knows niki likes that colour
Sunoo: good.
Sunghoon: gonna celebrate on twt rq
As time passed, the bell rang indicating that lunch was about to begin. Heeseung quickly ran to the cafeteria after gathering his bags. He would expect to find you with a friend, but when he got there, you weren't there. Walking up to Liz, he asked where you were.
“If you know where her locker is, she's at it,” she said. Heeseung ran over to your locker. He was frantically searching the corridors for your locker when he saw you heading down one of them, and he stopped. You took notice of him and waved timidly at him. You two chatted in a brief conversation before heading toward the cafeteria. It was enjoyable how you got along with him well.
In crowds, Jake, Jay, and Jungwon were hiding while getting closer to you two. Jay reached for his phone and made a call to Sunoo.
“Where are they?” Sunoo enquired.
Jay responded, "They stopped at the water fountain near the main office,” Sunoo hung up the phone.
“If you're wondering where Heeseung is, he’s at the water fountain, the smart one,” Sunoo said as he sat down next to Niki.
“Oh, really?” Niki mumbled on his food. He stood up and left to see if Heeseung was actually there. He walked over to the fountain only to find you with Heeseung.
While you waited for Heeseung to complete filling his water bottle, you continued your conversation with him. A recognisable person approached you; it was Niki. You tried to ignore him, but Heeseung turned to see who was calling for him.
When you turned around, Niki was approaching Heeseung. Black and red yarn was suddenly thrown at you as soon as he stood close to you. You were holding onto the yarn while looking for the person who had thrown it when an idea struck you.
Strings were thrown at you when Niki appeared. You were strings attached to him.
Your soulmate was Niki.

Speaking of cars I think Dirk would drive a 2012 Hyundai sonata which he has stickers all over. Listen you all need to see my vision of Dirk just living as a regular guy I feel like he secretly craves just a normal boring life where he goes to his job and goes home and nobody around him knows he's a God accept like maybe his carapacian neighbor who doesn't really give a shit. Big deal, they've riden on a giant horse tank and survived war with other giant chess tanks I don't think much impresses a person after that. I think Dirk would thrive in that environment actually. He goes to his job at gamestop, talks customers ears off about the game they're about to buy. He goes home, maybe chats with his neighbors and works on cool shit in his basement. He doesnt look it or say it but he's actually quite happy

Chapter 1 - Interesting Spider Facts
Saturday, November 3rd
The train comes in with a roar, the force of the air almost making you take a step further back from the tracks. As it slows to a stop, you fix your hair, which got blown all to hell by the train’s passing.
People start coming down the stairs, making their way slowly towards the parking lot, or towards where you’re standing on the paved trail that leads back to your college campus. You eye each of them, searching for a familiar face. A very specific familiar face.
You recognize her shirt before she’s close enough for you to see her face; you should - you bought her that shirt last Christmas. You wave an arm as she comes closer, and once she spots you her steps speed up in excitement.
It’s early November, and your best friend from home is visiting you on campus for the first time ever. It’s your third year, and she’s never come before now – between her own classes, and the distance, it just always worked out better to see each other when you went back to your parents’ house each time campus closed for a break.
You’re happy to see her, of course, but you’re also beyond excited to welcome her into your little world here, to show off the places you like to go, introduce her to the friends you’ve made in your time here.
You hug each other, ignoring her little rolling suitcase on the pavement beside you.
“It’s a bit of a walk back,” you warn her, starting to head back down the trail. “And then we have to sign you in as a visitor at the security place.”
You chat as you walk, and she fills you in on what’s been happening back in your hometown. You kick at small piles of fallen leaves as you walk; autumn is well underway and the trees that line the paved trail are nearly all bare. The crunching beneath your feet is oddly satisfying, and you realize you’ve been tuning Nina out to focus on stepping on crispy looking leaves.
“Sorry, what?” you ask when you notice she’s stopped talking and is looking at you sideways, clearly annoyed.
“I was saying that Erin told me there’s a party tonight?” she repeats, not hiding her annoyance at all.
Things have been a little weird with you and Nina lately, which is part of why you were excited to have her visit. You were hoping to rekindle how you used to be – you’d been best friends since middle school, with a ton of history between the two of you. You had a lot of love for each other, but things had definitely been strained recently.
It had started back in the spring, when you’d broken up with your last boyfriend, Davis. Your mom always said when it rains, it pours by which she meant bad shit likes to happen all at once. That had been your spring – you’d broken up with Davis, things got weird with Nina, and you’d lost your part-time job at a local bookstore when it went under and had to close.
Always in threes, you noticed.
In the seven months since all of that, you’d gotten mostly back on your feet. You’d dated here and there over the summer, trying to get over Davis. It was… a process. You’d also gotten a new part-time job through school, tutoring. Right now, early in the semester, the students who signed up were doing so voluntarily so the workload was pretty light. You knew, though, that after first semester grades went out you’d be assigned students to tutor if they were on official academic probation. That just left Nina as the final problem to be solved.
And you are doing a crackerjack job of it.
“I just love that you and Erin are so tight,” you mutter.
Nina rolls her eyes at you. “I’m sorry you two have your shit,” she says flatly, sounding not sorry at all, “but I was friends with her before that went down. Anyway, she said there’s a party tonight at -.”
“I know where it’s at,” you grumble, kicking more leaves. “I was already planning on us going. Not that I want to, now that I know she’s going.”
Nina rolls her eyes even harder, throwing in a dramatic grimace. “You need to move on from that.”
You say nothing, pressing your lips tight together. Conversations with Nina tend to turn into arguments, especially when the topic of Erin and Davis comes up.
“Anyway,” you say finally, after you walk in silence for a few more minutes, “we’re going to the party. My roommates are coming too.”
“Cool,” she chirps, happy again. “I brought like three outfits, you can help me choose. Are we thinking slutty? Classy slutty? Lounge slutty?”
“I’m noticing a theme,” you deadpan, and she laughs. It feels like old times, for a second. “I mean, it’s a frat party. I think you’re safe with any of the above.”
You sign Nina in as an overnight guest at the security station on campus and then lead her to your dorm. The sun is low behind you, despite it being only around 5 pm, as you swipe your school ID card through the card reader to gain access to your building.
“Oh good,” one of your roommates says as you open your door upstairs. “We were about to order pizza.”
You’re in a triple, which means three of you girls in one room; while this is not always ideal, the three of you do get your own bathroom. That makes it worth it, in your opinion. The other suckers have to share with the whole hall.
The roommate you get along with best, Kiko, is sitting on her bed, her laptop open in front of her. Your other roommate, Bridget, is sitting at her desk, leaning forward towards her light-up mirror, eyeliner in hand.
“This is my friend from home, Nina,” you say, gesturing back as Nina comes through the door with her tiny suitcase. “This is Kiko, and Bridget. You can put your stuff by the bottom bunk, it’s mine.”
Nina rolls her suitcase over as you and Kiko begin discussing toppings.
Two hours later, you’re crumpling up an empty pizza box. Behind you, Bridget pours vodka and juice into plastic cups as Kiko fiddles with her Bluetooth speaker to get the pregame tunes started.
“What time do you want to head over?” you ask the room at large. You run a hand through your hair, silently trying to determine if it needs a shampoo before the party.
“Ten? Ten thirty?” Bridget suggests. She’s sort of running the show – the frat guys are her friends, not yours. “Jin told me nine, so I feel like that’s an appropriate level of fashionably late.”
Kiko meets your eyes from her bed and you match her face quickly. Neither of you is huge on the party scene, honestly, and sometimes you both just can’t with Bridget’s nonsense.
“Is the party on campus?” Nina asks, from where she’s laying sideways across your bottom bunk, red solo cup in hand. Her long curls cascade over the side of the bed.
“No, Seokjin has a place off-campus,” Bridget tells her. “It’s not technically a frat house, but it kind of is.”
Nina looks at you, but it’s Kiko who speaks up to explain. “It’s not an official Greek-life frat house, through the school,” she says. “We have those. But Jin rents this house off campus – he’s had the lease the last two years - and all the guys who room with him are in his frat too.”
“Hopefully one of the younger guys can snag the lease next year,” Bridget muses. “After Jin graduates? I would hate to start having to party on campus again and deal with the fucking Campo.”
“Campus police,” you translate automatically for Nina’s sake.
A little bit later, Kiko makes her way into the bathroom, where you’re pressed up close to the mirror, trying to get your eyeliner even.
“How early am I allowed to bail?” she asks you under her breath.
You laugh a little. Normally you two stick together, and if one of you wants to leave early you go together. You’re not sure you can pull an early disappearing act while Nina’s with you.
“You can bail as soon as you want to,” you tell her seriously. “But I have to stay tonight. You’re on your own.”
You lower your voice, not wanting to be heard over the music playing out in the room. “And Nina told me that Erin is going, which means Davis is going. If there was ever a night I wanted to bail… believe me… it’s tonight.”
Kiko meets your eyes in the mirror, her mouth making a tiny little frown. “Are you going to be okay?”
Erin, who – yes – has been friends with Nina a long time, is the girl Davis cheated with back in the spring. Well, before that, probably. The spring was just when you found out.
You and Davis had decided to go to the same college back when you were still together, obviously. You regret it big time, now that you have to see him all over campus.
You’re a tiny bit tempted to tell Nina to go to the fucking party without you.
“Yeah,” you sigh. “It’s one night. I’ll just try to stay in a different room than them.”
“Maybe you’ll meet someone,” she says hopefully, leaning against the doorframe behind you. You give up on your eyeliner and untwist the top of your mascara.
“I’d rather not,” you say flatly. “Frankly, everyone on this campus with a penis can go fuck themselves.”
“That is not the right attitude!” Bridget hollers from the other room.
Nina comes to stand next to Kiko. You’re feeling a little trapped, with the two of them blocking the whole door.
“How long are you going to stay on this I hate men crusade?” Nina asks.
You want to point out that she has barely heard your crusading, as it were, since she was decidedly uninterested in listening to you rant back when you’d caught Davis and Erin. You knew she was in an awkward position, being friends with both you and Erin. You understood. But it had sucked anyway, not being able to talk to your best friend as you went through that.
“Until someone proves to me that I’m wrong,” you say, capping the mascara and taking a step back from the mirror.
“She says that,” Bridget says, coming to join the little party in the doorway, “but watch her tonight. Any guy that tries to talk to her, she’ll castrate. Verbally. You can’t say prove me wrong and then refuse to let anyone try, Y/N.”
“I can and I will,” you say lightly. “Now I need more vodka, so all of you scooch.”
--
It’s about a 20 minute walk to the house, which on a frigid November night is no joke.
“I should have had more to drink,” Kiko says solemnly. “So that I wouldn’t feel the cold.”
“We’re almost there,” Bridget tells her, pointing. “They’re at the end of that block.”
The music is deafening even from the street outside the house, and you have no idea how they don’t have the police there already. The neighbors must all be deaf… or other college kids. Bridget leads the way, opening the front door. The music goes from deafening to whatever the next step up might be. You resist the urge to cover your ears, but you adjust to it as you follow Bridget through the living room. It’s packed with bodies, but she’s been partying here long enough that she knows her way around.
You’ve been to parties here a handful of times, but not since becoming Bridget’s roommate in September. The fact that she’s friends with these guys is an interesting coincidence. You’re not sure you’ve even ever met Jin, but he and Bridget are on a first-name basis, apparently.
She leads you off to the staircase on the right, and up. It’s quieter upstairs, and she opens the first door in the unlit hallway.
“Coats,” she says, and you all toss your jackets towards the already mountainous pile on top of the bed.
Downstairs again, you have to fight your way through the packed living room to the kitchen, where the liquor and mixers are lining the countertops. Even though you pregamed, you hardly feel it at all, and you’re perfectly willing when Bridget suggests you all start with a shot.
“The guys are downstairs,” she informs you, after checking her phone. “We should go say hello.”
“Why?” Kiko mutters in your ear, and you smile at her. Nina is looking around eagerly, and for a second you wish you could feel like she does – like everybody you see is a new opportunity, a fresh start, a hopeful possibility. You used to feel that way, before Davis decided you weren’t worth his time, and that you were too stupid to catch him.
After you’ve all mixed yourselves drinks, Bridget leads you back through the jungle in the living room, steering you all left towards a door you’d never know was there. She opens it, and it leads down a dark, narrow staircase.
It’s not quite as loud in the basement, which means you can talk without screaming directly into each other’s ears. There are a few beer pong tables in the middle, and some couches shoved in a U in the back.
Bridget leads you to the opposite corner behind the pong tables. You recognize a few people in the group that’s crowded together back there – you’ve seen them here at parties, and a few of them around campus.
Bridget squeals and throws her arms around the neck of one of the taller guys, somehow managing not to spill her drink.
“Hello, gorgeous,” she cries, and you fight back an eye roll. You like Bridget, really. She’s just… her.
“Hello yourself,” he tells her, and you wonder if he knows her name or if to him she’s just another cute girl who comes to his parties.
She introduces the rest of you girls, and Jin rattles off the names of the guys around him, but you aren’t listening. You don’t care. You have zero interest in talking to any of these dudes.
After a few minutes, Nina takes your hand and pulls you to play beer pong with her. You’re not amazing at it – hand-eye coordination was never your forte – but she’s great, and you hold your spot at the table for longer than you thought you would. When you finally lose, you look around the room, searching for your friends. Jin’s crew is still lording over their corner of the basement, but you don’t see Jin himself anymore. You don’t see Bridget either – suspicious – but Kiko is still there, talking to a blond guy, so you head back that way, tugging Nina behind you by her sleeve.
She tugs you back, leaning close to tell you, “I’m going up to make a new drink.”
“Do you want me to come with you?” you ask, shouting.
She shakes her head, then points questioningly at your cup. You still have half of what you mixed earlier, since you’ve been drinking beer at the pong table for the better part of an hour. You shake your head no, and point at Kiko. “I’ll wait for you with Kiko!” you call to her, and she waves as she heads towards the stairs.
When you reach Jin’s little group and Kiko, she barely turns to acknowledge you, so engrossed in her conversation with the grumpy looking blond.
Well, cool. Now you have no one to talk to until Nina gets back – and knowing Nina, as you have for an entire decade, she’ll probably get swept up in conversation upstairs and never come back for you.
“You need to use your hips more,” a voice says, very close to you, and you startle.
“Excuse me?” you say, raising an eyebrow.
The speaker is most definitely one of Jin’s crew – you recognize him from other parties, and you think you might have shared a class freshman year – but you don’t know his name. He’s tall, practically towering over you (and you’re in heels!), and his dark hair settles in pretty waves just above his eyeline. You determinedly do not notice his jawline, the intensity of his gaze, the sexy cock of his eyebrow. You definitely don’t notice the cute-ass freckle on the end of his nose. Or the one on his bottom lip. You’re not looking at his lips.
You’re not.
Damn. He looks like a god. You hate him immediately.
“When you play pong,” he explains. “You have great hips – use them to box out your opponent.”
You look at him, blown away by the audacity. “Seriously? The first thing you ever say to me in your life, and it’s about my ass?”
He frowns, and you can’t tell if it’s playful or if he means it. “I didn’t say anything about your ass,” he points out.
“Tread carefully, Taehyung,” Bridget says, appearing out of fucking nowhere, slinging an arm over your shoulders. “Y/N doesn’t like to leave survivors these days.”
You give him – Taehyung, apparently - a level stare, hoping he’ll listen and back off. Instead, he licks his lips and then fights a smile as he says, “Is this like a black widow thing? I’m pretty sure they mate first.”
Your jaw drops. “You did not just fucking say that to me,” you say, voice low and dangerous even to your own ears.
He holds up his hands in mock surrender. “I’m just giving interesting spider facts. No need to get upset.”
“I’m done with this conversation,” you say flatly, and you cut your eyes at him as you turn to go. “Enjoy your night.”
“Wait, are you actually mad?” he asks, suddenly puzzled. Besides him, Bridget laughs, used to the way you chew up and spit guys out lately. “We were just flirting!”
“You might be flirting,” you counter. “Not me. I need to go find my friend.”
“She’s upstairs with her tongue in Hoseok’s mouth,” Bridget tells you, and you very nearly spit your drink all over Taehyung, which honestly would serve him right.
“Sounds like your friend has the right idea,” Taehyung says offhandedly, and you firmly turn your back to him, absolutely over it. He wants you to box out your opponents? You’ll start right now.
Beside you, Kiko tucks a piece of hair behind her ear and smiles shyly, still talking with the same guy. You catch Bridget’s eye and raise your eyebrow. She pulls out her phone and starts tapping away. When you feel your pocket buzz, you know it’s her.
[12:42 AM] Briiiiig: IKR!!!!
[12:43 AM] Briiiiig: that’s jin’s bro yoongi and I have NEVER SEEN HIM CHAT UP A GIRL
[12:43 AM] Briiiiig: THIS IS AMAZING
You smile, and type a message to Kiko - “Get it girl!!!!!!!!!!” You know she won’t see it until later - she’s so into this conversation, she probably doesn’t remember that phones even exist. “This is getting boring,” Bridget says to the group at large. “Does anyone have a party trick to share?”
“I can lick my elbow,” one of the guys, who sports a sleeve of tattoos and a few facial piercings says. The guys all boo him.
“I have a great party trick, but the pay-off is a little delayed,” Taehyung says, very seriously. “I can predict the weather - it’s going to rain like hell tomorrow.”
“My phone knows that trick too,” you say flatly, pulling it out and swiping over to the weather app. “And it says tomorrow will be warm and sunny.”
Taehyung levels a look at you, his earlier playfulness fading. “I’ll put money on it.”
You roll your eyes, over it and him. You choose not to answer, instead eyeing your empty cup. You head upstairs with two missions in mind – one, to detangle Nina from whichever poor soul is Hoseok, and two, to mix a new drink.
Maybe not in that order. You stop in the kitchen, eyeing the different liquors and mixers and trying to decide what sounds good. You’re settling on more vodka and juice when you feel someone come up next to you. You glance over to find Taehyung looking at you, brows furrowed.
“Oh my god,” you utter, completely exasperated. “Why are you following me?”
His frown deepens. “I feel like I actually pissed you off downstairs.”
“You did,” you tell him, eyes wide with disbelief. “So go away, please!”
“No, wait,” he says, reaching out a hand as if that will settle you down. “I wanted to apologize. Sometimes when I drink, dumb shit just comes out of my mouth without my brain’s permission. I wasn’t trying to be… disrespectful, or gross. But I think I was. I’m sorry.”
You hear absolutely none of this. You feel like you have tunnel vision: the whole party shrinking down, the kitchen fading, your pulse roaring in your ears louder than the music, as you spot Davis and Erin out in the living room, laughing with Nina and some skinny guy.
Davis looks great – all tan from playing soccer all summer, probably, his hair a little longer than the last time you saw him. You’re suddenly remembering how it felt to be tucked up against him, his arm around your shoulders, his laugh reverberating against you as you held on tight. But it isn’t you glued to his side, it’s Erin, her arm around his middle as she wobbles on strappy heels. Your heart is hammering in your chest.
“Okay?” Taehyung is asking you as you come back into your body. He’s looking at you intently. You’re suddenly so nauseous that you’re not sure you can make it to a bathroom.
“Sure,” you say, even though you have no idea what he’d been talking about. “Whatever. I need some air.”
You have to pass Davis, Erin, and Nina in order to get outside, but there’s nothing you can do about that. You walk quickly, eyes on the ground, shouldering people out of the way as you head for the front door.
You’re better the instant you pull your first drag of cold November air into your lungs. You take the stone steps slowly, stopping at the bottom and dropping to sit on the final stair. You rest your elbows on your knees and press your forehead into your hands, eyes screwed shut, trying to just breathe and steady yourself. Fucking Davis and fucking Erin and fucking disloyal Nina.
Your phone buzzes in your pocket and you pull it out, starting to feel the cold night air on your bare fingers.
[1:24 AM] Nina 💕: did u just go outside?
[1:24 AM] Nina💕: girl it’s cold! come back in
[1:25 AM] You: let me know when ur done talking to that piece of garbage and I’ll consider it
[1:27 AM] Nina💕: 🙄
You don’t answer this one. You’re calmer now, the quiet and the cold air doing wonders for your nerves. You lean back against the steps, feeling the cold seep in through your jeans, your fingers starting to sting. The clouds that pressed down on you and Nina earlier in the day as you’d walked the paved trail are gone now, and you can see stars clear and bright. You make out a few constellations idly, and hunt for the moon, which is hanging barely above the treeline. It’s a sliver tonight, barely there at all.
You wish you could talk to someone - anyone - about Davis. If you were about two shots drunker and another girl had come out here, you’d probably tell the whole damn story. Kiko would listen, you’re sure, but you hate unloading on her - especially because she isn’t a big sharer herself. You don’t like that it feels one-sided when you open up. Bridget would care, in a very Bridget way, but it would undoubtedly end in advice that had to do with getting someone else’s dick, and you just aren’t there right now. And Nina… well, Nina is inside laughing it up with the asshole in question, so there goes that.
You’re starting to wish you’d brought your coat. Once you’re cold enough you rise, heading back up the way you came.
Luckily, the group you had to pass on your way out have either disbanded or relocated, because you make it through the living room without seeing anyone you recognize. You make your way back to the basement door, ready to navigate the dark stairs.
Halfway down the stairs, you hit something solid and lose your balance completely, letting out a shriek. You tumble sideways, around the obstruction, and a hand closes roughly around your elbow, pulling you back. The sudden change of direction stops you from careening further down the steps, but it also jerks your cup out of your hand, and it splashes as it bounces down the steps. You twist, off-balance, and land on your ass two stairs down from where you tripped. You’re shocked that you didn’t break a heel… or a bone. The hand is still tight on your elbow, stopping you from sliding any further.
For a minute, you just sit there in shock, trying to figure out what happened.
“Ow,” you say finally, once you’re sure you aren’t going to fall down more stairs. “What the fuck.”
“You’re welcome,” a voice says, low, and of course it’s fucking Taehyung.
“Why are you sitting on the stairs in the dark?” you hiss, completely losing your shit. “I almost died!”
“I missed a step and hurt my ankle,” he says, voice still low. “I tried to warn you I was here – I guess you didn’t hear me.”
“I guess I didn’t,” you echo. His hand is still on your elbow, holding tight, as if you might still slide down the rest of the stairs. It’s too dark on the staircase to see his face clearly. Now you feel kind of like a jerk. You didn’t know he was hurt, you just thought he picked a bad spot to hang out. “I didn’t kick you or anything, did I?”
“No,” he says. “Are you okay?”
When you tell him you are, he finally lets go of your elbow, his fingers brushing the top of your arm lightly as it falls away from his grasp. You stare at each other in silence through the dark.
“Thanks for the save,” you say, feeling a little awkward. You’ve been pretty mean to him tonight, and you are fully aware of it. “Quick reflexes.”
You get to your feet unsteadily, eyeing your spilled drink on the steps below you. “How hurt are you?” you ask. “Can you make it down?”
He’s quiet for a second, and you actually feel a twinge of concern. Gross.
“I’m not sure,” he says finally, voice laced with defeat. “Do you mind going downstairs and getting Jimin? Please?”
“Yeah,” you say quietly. “I can do that.”
You make your way down the rest of the stairs, casting a glance over your shoulder at the bottom. You can barely make out his form, halfway up, a shadow just barely moving against the dark.
You approach Bridget and Jin, who are still talking with the same group of guys. No Nina in sight.
“Hey,” you say to Jin. “I’m looking for Jimin?”
“That’s me,” a guy to your left says, looking at you quizzically.
“Taehyung asked me to get you,” you explain, turning to him. “He’s sitting on the stairs back there, trying to trip people in the dark. He says he hurt his ankle.”
“Oh shit,” Jimin says, immediately putting his cup down on a nearby table and hurrying towards the stairs. The guy that Kiko’s been talking to all night – Yoongi – follows him at a clip. This seems like a bit of an over-reaction to you, but it isn’t your problem. You did what you were asked, and now you’re off the hook.
Kiko turns to you, face flushed, clearly fighting a smile. “Hi,” she says sheepishly. “How’s your night going?”
You laugh. “Not as good as yours, apparently,” you tease. “I can’t wait to hear about it later. Has anyone seen Nina? She was upstairs before, but I lost her.”
Bridget says, “She’s probably still with Hoseok somewhere. Hey, the couches are empty, anyone want to play Kings?”
Nina shows up a little bit later, the aforementioned Hoseok nowhere to be seen. She perches on the arm of the couch near you, watching as you all finish the round.
“Want to go soon?” she asks. “It’s almost three.”
“Sure,” you say easily. “Kiko? Bridg? You feel like heading back?”
Bridget isn’t thrilled, but she’s outvoted three-to-one, so you all head upstairs to find your coats and start the walk back. You don’t see any of the guys upstairs, or your ex. Thank goodness.
Back at the dorm, the four of you vie for mirror space as you scrub your faces with makeup remover. Kiko’s done first, slipping under her comforter and letting out a series of happy noises. Bridget climbs to her top bunk, and Nina slides into the bottom bunk that belongs to you. You rummage in the mini-fridge and pass everyone a cold water bottle before turning the overhead lights off. Bridget turns an old, nostalgic cartoon movie on the tv as you slide into bed besides Nina.
You drink sips of water, sort of watching the movie through half-closed eyes. You fall asleep, feet tangled with your best friend’s as they have been thousands of times since your childhood, before the opening credits can even finish.

MWG 2022 WRAPPED LIST - PART SIXTEEN
What wrapped list would be complete without some good stats? As our final category, we asked our members to approximate a few different amounts to give us a glimpse into just how active (and mentally ill) they were last year!
On average, MWG members read roughly 87 fan fics per person. On the high end of the list was an impressive 250 fics, compared to our lowest of one single fic.
Tumblr media
Not all fics are created equal though! Some people definitely read more words than others. The average words was approximately 666,233 words read per person. One particularly voracious reader estimated their count at 3 MILLION words read last year.
Tumblr media
Now, out of these fics, some things we read were just extremely long. Like. Really long. Here are the longest fics that our members read last year!
10. Trickster by @sallertiacallidusacallidus - 131,836 words
9. lucky us by @geek-fashionista - 136,130 words
8. discordant sonata by @edendaphne - 142,083 words
7. one does not love breathing by @wackus-bonkus-maximus - 144,704 words
6. withered wings by @graaythekwami - 198,603 words
5. miraculous dupont by @agrestebug - 199,608 words
4. Come What May by @fettucinne - 211,160 words
3. there's more magic out there by @justanotherpersonsuniverse - 342,272 words
2. baby boom by ShawnaCanon - 401,210 words
1. Adventures of Panthera Noire by @justanotherpersonsuniverse - 431,281 words
While the average guild member did quite a bit of reading, there were a few tags that they just kept coming back to. The graph below shows our most popular (non-ship related) Ao3 tags!
Tumblr media
Of course, the MWG focuses on one thing above all, which is writing. During 2022, our members wrote roughly an average of 83,000 words per person. On the impressively high side, one member estimated they'd written 360,000 words.
Tumblr media
More than just promoting writing and events, the MWG strives to be a community. We hang out with each other, talk about other fandoms we love, share playlists and just get to know the talented writers with whom we share a guild. This year, guild members spent an average of 438 hours chatting, discussing or just lurking in the MWG discord server.
Tumblr media
And we were so happy to haven them! We're continually grateful for all the wonderful and amazing people who join and become part of the guild dynamic. They truly make every single day interesting, to say the least. Thank you to our members and our followers for a wonderful year.
This is the end of our MWG Wrapped 2022! We hope you enjoyed this taste of what goes on in the guild. See you next year!

The Pianist: A Tale Of Horror (Ch. 2)
On the agreed evening, the two friends meet in the illuminated enormous garden for the occasion. They approach the party from which classical music is emanating. Long buffet tables are set up. Women in colorful dresses and men in evening suits stroll through the garden, chatting with glasses in hand. Household employees in uniforms offer trays of appetizers and drinks. One of the employees approaches Lisa and whispers something in her ear. She listens to her attentively and thanks her. Suddenly, a very elegant lady in a red dress calls for Lisa. She walks away in her company, leaving Émilie alone.
She doesn't really feel like she belongs in the midst of all these wealthy people. She looks around, feeling uneasy. She sees men casting admiring glances at her and ladies discreetly looking at her little discounted dress. Émilie takes a glass and walks among groups of guests who are conversing. Suddenly, she hears a different tune, seeming to come from somewhere else. She walks slowly toward the beautiful music that soothes her anger and frustration as she approaches. She finds herself walking towards the white castle that stands out against the dark forest behind it like a fairy tale castle. She's surprised at the speed and confidence of her own steps. Arriving in front of the massive white door, she now clearly hears the magnificent melody coming from inside. She effortlessly opens the door and finds herself in a huge vestibule drowned in darkness. Suddenly, light escapes from a partially open door from which the music seems to emanate, now very distinct. Émilie heads towards the light and enters a room with a black and white checkered marble floor. The tall windows are covered with long white tulle curtains, all drawn. In the middle of the room, a grand white piano stands, and behind it, Émilie finally sees the pianist. He's a tall man in his mid-thirties, with long brown hair and features that range from regular to stern. He furrows his black brows in the rising emotion of the music. He lifts his eyes and gazes at Émilie for a moment while continuing to play this Beethoven sonata that rages before coming to an end. When the music stops, Émilie catches her breath for a second and then applauds. A smile illuminates the pianist's face. She apologizes for disturbing him, but he seems pleased with her intrusion. Vincent turns out to be the music teacher of little Valentina, the daughter of the master of the house, Théodore Costine. He admits to feeling somewhat uncomfortable in the high society parties organized in the castle. She confesses that she also doesn't feel comfortable at these kinds of parties but that she's there to escape from her life that has become a hell. Émilie is surprised by how easily she confides in this stranger. She felt a strong urge to do so. She tells him about Nicolas' betrayal and how she suddenly finds herself with no idea of what she wants from life. For his part, Vincent admits to being a solitary being and that his closest friend is his student Valentina. Despite being a wonderful pianist, he believes he's destined to live in the shadow as an artist.
The two young people get along very well. They even seem to quickly become close. But suddenly, a woman's voice resonates in the castle. She calls Émilie by her name. Émilie doesn't understand because no one knows her at this party except for Lisa. She leaves the room asking who it is. In the dark hall, she sees a slightly ajar door. The voice calls her again. It seems to come from behind that door. Émilie approaches the door and pushes it. Suddenly, she finds herself face to face with an old lady in a 1920s evening dress, her heavy diamond jewelry gleaming in the darkness. The old lady raises her index finger towards Émilie and shouts, 'Never come back again.' Émilie is terrified, rushes to the castle's entrance, and runs out. She awkwardly runs on the grass towards the party in her heels.
She hears a woman calling her again, she doesn't turn around, and suddenly, someone grabs her arm. She stumbles in fright, but it's only Lisa. She's still with the lady in the red dress. Lisa introduces her to her: her name is Nadia, and she's Mr. Costine's assistant. Nadia says that Mr. Théodore Costine needs a tutor for his five-year-old daughter, Valentina. She asks Émilie to come tomorrow if she's interested in the job.
Later, as they walk back together, Lisa encourages Émilie to take the job. She tells her it's an opportunity for her to get a well-paying new job and to live in this beautiful castle. She adds that it's still better than sleeping on her couch.
That night, Émilie dreams that she's again in Théodore Costine's castle and hears the same piano tune that Vincent was playing. She's in front of the music room. A tall man stands behind her, leans over her neck, and kisses her. She turns around, but it's dark, and she can't see his face. Suddenly, she hears a growl to her right, she turns her head and sees the same old lady who had chased her from the castle, but this time, she has long fangs protruding from her mouth. The flesh of her face decomposes and falls away, revealing the bones of her skull. The creature aggressively screams, aiming for Émilie, but no voice comes out of her frightening mouth. Émilie wakes up with a start. She realizes with relief that she's on Lisa's couch.
