Summary: You go on the podcast

"Hi, everyone. Welcome back to Brewing with Beckie. Today, we have a very special guest...my girlfriend y/n!"

You popped into the frame with a little smile and a mug. You lifted it to the camera and tipped your head a little in greeting. "Hi!"

A kiss was pressed to your cheek as Beckie shifted closer until your shoulders were pressed together so close that if it wasn't for the different colours of your shirts, nobody would be able to tell where you started and Beckie ended.

"So," Beckie said," This is, of course, my lovely girlfriend. We've got a little tradition on the podcast-"

"I know, baby," You said," I listen to every episode. You want to know what kind of coffee I've got." You swirled it teasingly and Beckie rolled her eyes.

"It's more for the listeners. I know what you've got in there."

"Oh, yeah?" You challenged," What have I got in here?" You snatched it away before she kind sniff at it.

"Hot chocolate," She answered easily," Because you don't like coffee and just yesterday you raved about getting that fancy hot chocolate mixture you've been looking for for weeks now."

You let out a little bark of laughter, tilting your head to rest against Janine's shoulder. "Okay...maybe you know me a bit well."

"That's actually one of the questions I've got. How long have we known each other?"

"Years," You said," We grew up next door." You lifted your mug and took a long sip. "We had rooms that faced each other. Do you remember when we used to try to mime to each other through the windows?"

Janine chuckled with a little nod. "And then we worked out that the locks on the windows were just for show and we could have talked to each other the whole time."

"My mum used to yell at you through that window, when we would keep her up by talking too loudly."

"I think she still blames me for your dip in grades that year."

You took another long sip and batted her hand lightly. "Enough about my mother. What's the next question? You've got quite the extensive list."

You were teasing but you knew that she had been preparing for this episode for a while now. You knew that she was sneakily looking at the piece of paper under the table that she was trying to hide from you.

"Hey!" Janine said," No peeking! That's cheating!"

"It's not a competition, baby! I can't cheat!"

"Next question! Ooh, I like this one! What was the first thing you noticed about me when we started dating?"

"The fact that I can be right next to you and you won't hear a thing but god forbid I make a little comment and you hear it from across the room," You replied drily though kept the little smile on your face.

"This was meant to be a cute question!" Janine complained even though she was laughing.

"What would you have preferred me to say?"

Janine shrugged. "I don't know, my eyes or something?"

"Baby, I noticed your eyes long before we started dating."

That made Janine puff up a little bit before she went back to consulting her list of questions. It went back and forth like normal on her podcast and soon your drink had gone cold and you were practically pressed up into Janine's lap.

Ever since you were little, you had been a physically affectionate person. You like to hold hands with people and be in their personal space. You counted yourself lucky that you had such an accommodating girlfriend who easily opened her arms for you to crawl into at the end of the day.

"I like this one too!"

"Babe, you wrote them. You don't need to try and puff up your own ego."

"This is the last question," Janine said," Can you at least let me have this?"

"Fine," You laughed," Go on. Ask away."

"What's the best memory you have of us together?" She was grinning at you and you kissed the smug look off her face.

"You know the answer."

"The viewers don't."

"Oh? So this is an announcement?"

"Only if you announce something."

You stole another kiss from Janine before flashing your ring at the camera.

"Last night. When you proposed, of course."

Hello everyone and welcome to Goth-Pods special trials and troubles episode! I’m an indie theater’s take on the ghost of Christmas Present- and your host, Juda Boone.

We're looking at your submitted trademark Gotham problems. So without my usual ramblings, lets get to business

For our first submission username Trekkle brought up a good debate: Subway vs Bus: The Subway is safer, since buses can get hit during rogue attacks, but if you're stuck underground there's a chance of a killer croc attack and also the birds ride the roof.

Fantastic points, Trekkle! Thank you for writing in. I don't know exactly what you mean by the birds riding the roof, though. Do you mean Robin? Because I have been on the tram while a fight was happening between Robin and The Penguin on top. Of course, I missed most of it because I had my headphones in. Noise cancellation has its pros and cons in Gotham.

There’s no set answer on this one, I don’t think. You kind of have to pay attention to what Rouges are active the way you pay attention to the weather. Cloudy with a 70% chance of a Riddler scheme? Maybe take the Buses, since they’re not connected to a maze-like system like the subways are. But maybe it's sweater weather with a possible freeze-over because Victor Fries broke out two nights ago and is due for a showy return. Then an underground bunker with cushy seats doesn’t sound too bad.

From Clexx we have: I'm new to Gotham (full ride scholarship, thank you Mr. Wayne): Why does everyone hate Superman? I tried to get answers from a friend and they called Superman a Homewrecker. Is there an infidelity scandal around Superman I don’t know about??

Oh wow. First of all, congratulations on the scholarship! I'm assuming you're attending Gotham U? Just be sure you get a proper Rogue-proof gas mask. Yes there is a difference. It’ll probably be covered in your Orientation though, so onto the main question.

To the Homewrecker comment.. oh I didn’t think it’d come to this. Okay, there's this thing in Gotham. Clexx, have you ever heard of Bruceman? Ask your friend about it, they’ll probably love to explain more. Basically it is a Real-Person based Ship on Gotham’s two protectors, Bruce Wayne and Batman. One watching over the day, the other the night.

This is another Topic that might take all episodes to explain, so to keep it short: People see Superman and Batman’s relationship- professional, platonic, romantic, or however they define it- as a threat to Bruceman, the number one Gotham Ship. Godspeed if you get between our beloved prettyboy himbo and our odd night-stalking cryptid.

From Allison: My cousin is visiting and I want to show them why I stay in Gotham. Where can we go for 1) a low level rogue attack (for Bat sighting), and 2) where can we go for a Wayne sighting. (They think Dick Grayson is hotter then Brucie [eye-rolling emoji])

For the first one, I think any part of our public transport system will do, as we discussed before. The tricky part is knowing when it’s going to be low-level or if your cousin will be joining you in a shelter-in-place lockdown.

For a Wayne sighting, unfortunately it’s harder to say these days. Bruce Wayne has made several statements on how he’s spending less time at the company in order to focus on bonding with his new son, Jason. I hate to disappoint, but right now might not be the time for celebrity sight-seeing. Maybe take a day trip to Bludhaven! Your cousin might enjoy the chance to convince you instead.

Prompt: Y/N is coming to visit the boys, after years of being apart. How do they all react? (Part 1? I might make a part 2!)

Pairing: Bat Family x Reader

Mentioned Characters: Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth.

Requested?: Nope!

Gotham City.. The city of the Night.. The city where all crime came to light. To Justice. That's what everyone said.

But what Gotham wasn't? It wasn't the place 21 year old y/n found themselves revisiting. It felt like years had passed. Which it was. After leaving from sophomore year of Y/N and their parents had to move.

But now at the ripe age of 21, they were finally going back. Back to the place it had all started. Growing up in Gotham wasn't fun, but they had their friends here and there.

First it started with a boy by the name of Dick Grayson. An Acrobat. Someone who in their opinion deserved better. Growing up after family's passing didn't seem like fun. But when he had met you, your personalities clicked almost instantly. He would tell you when he worked as Robin as patrol, telling you the amount of bad guys he got, how him and Bruce argued, everything like that.

Next up had been Jason after Dick had left without warning. Now with Jason, it took a bit for him to warm up to you. But he saw you as an older sibling figure, and that was alright. You taught him how to cook, alongside Alfred. Bruce was fine with you usually coming around, especially with Dick no longer being around. When you left Gotham, you didn't know of Jason's death until only a few months later. In which you were out of town with family.

Now, with Tim, you had met him during a coffee run. You had almost tripped into him and his computer, but thankfully he had caught you just in time. Apologies spewled left and right between you both, but he seemed okay. That was a plus! You two bonded over games and crimes, which surprised some folks to an extent. You hadn't known of his identity as Red Robin, but slowly you pieced it together.

Damian... The last and final Wayne you had met during your freshman year at Gotham High. What a surprise that the thing you two bonded over was animals? You had been wandering around, trying to find a lost kitten that had gotten stuck somewhere in the school, and it turns out Damian was too. Now, the two of you found the kitten around the same time, and you two were amazed about it. Well- at least you were.

Slowly, your thoughts had come to a stop, the plane landing near a small town only a few minutes away from Gotham. Standing up from the plane and grabbing the suitcase and bag you had brought, there was this calm expression. Having to go all the way through the airport was already a pain in the ass itself.. When leaving the plane and making your way towards the train, you sat quietly. Playing your favorite playlist(or podcast, etc), your eyes landed outdoors through the window.

Start away such an amazing connection, like you both hit it straight off the bat.

You both being funny and cracking jokes left, right and centre especially in videos together. “What is that?!? *squints and looks at screen* Is that liquor?!?” “Ha, i hardly know her!” “Oh shut up George!”

Most of the time your both in each others videos. You live when your all doing videos with Alex, ArthurTv, Arthur Hill and Cam. Or if your doing videos for your channel.

I feel like he’s definitely a physical touch and quality time type of person. Like if your editing and he’s filming not to far from you he’s enjoy your company.

If he is filming and needs your opinion on something in the video, expect to be there for the rest of the video as your now apart of the video. Your either in your gaming chair or sat on his lap and your both doing a video now. His is excuse? “You get me more views.” (Joke)

Definitely loves watching movies together no matter the day, time, season whatever. It could be nice and sunny outside but he’d rather watch a movie and enjoy some time together.

Definitely gets you to do ‘having an argument depending on the letter’ or ‘dad jokes’ TikTok’s. If your in the vicinity of him and he’s in the mood to make a TikTok. You can bet your going to be in it or filming it.

Loves if your at the studio while they film a podcast. If there is a story that Max and George are talking about and your apart of that story. Guess what you’ll be doing? You’ll be telling the story while sitting on George’s lap as his arms are around your waist. He loves when you explain stuff and it makes you laugh.

Definitely has you come on the podcast every so often.

I feel like your both big Christmas/winter people.

Like you’d definitely decorate the whole apartment and then Arthur walks in like “why does it look like Father Christmas and his fucking reindeers threw up in here?”

Definitely getting those plaid pyjamas sets for the winter. And definitely going clothes shopping together so you can both agree on matching pyjamas.

Definitely the type of couple to do either cheesy or funny costumes. Like his one this year which was a cheerleader and you’d dress up as a jock wear a nfl jersey and such.

Definitely after a pub crawl for chips channel or a day out drinking; he’ll definitely be the type of drunk to be clingy/cuddly. Like if your on your computer or watching tv he’s cuddling against you or has his head in your lap or stomach and your resting your computer on his back.

Or he’ll be the the funny type of drunk, like he’ll out like a random song on and start dancing or singing the song. Definitely class at drunk karaoke!! He either goes all out or takes the piss and does random notes and says “and that impression was of Arthur Hill!”

Loves gossip! Like if you and your friends went out for the night and shit went down… except him to be waiting for you to spill the beans. “So… any drama or what?” “Oh stuff went down..” “how much tea?” “Enough to give a cup to everyone in this building.” “Oh so shit went down” “yep”

Definitely pulls the same faces as you when explaining the drama. Since living together I believe you both slowly start to do things the other would do. Like small mannerisms like if you were to say things a certain way or say a certain saying then expect George to say it too.

Or like if you would give him a kiss, when you pull apart you’d give him a extra peck or kiss his cheek. He’d definitely do that to you.

George definitely loves it secretly but he loves to either jump on your streaks or comment the most outrageous things or funny things to see how you react. The fans love when he comes into your office to either annoy you (jokingly), give you something (like food or drinks) and to have some company.

Definitely does the “you should subscribe to this account called George Clarke, mate he’s so funny and posts great content.” While your over here rolling your eyes while smiling.

While your streaming and he’s sat next to you, if your doing something you’d definitely ask for his opinion. Like if your making an outfit or making a house.

Loves the fun type of dates, would much rather go do mini golf or an escape room than a dinner date.

I feel like you’d both agree to those type of dates as you have more fun. Like he’d ask if you’d wanna go play mini golf and grab some ice cream and maybe go see a movie depending on the movie.

If you two were to go on holidays in a colder environment like a cabin trip or something along those lines. You’d both love watching the snow storm while drinking hot chocolate and watching holiday movies. Then if you both went to a hotter place, you’d both either be at the beach or by the pool. You’d be the type to mess around in the pool like kids playing water polo.

You and Grace are thee duo, like bro you both bounce off each other and are the funniest girl duo. And the the best group of four being you, Grace, George and Max. Omg imagine you four at a red carpet or an event together 😂😂

Definitely a laugh if you’ve gone onto the fellas podcast after a pub crawl. Chip would be like “how was George after the pub crawl?” You laugh “bro, he was so drunk.” Then George would defend “I wasn’t that bad!” It made you laugh even more “you literally blasted a playlist called ‘girl boss, girl pop moments’ me and poor Arthur had to make a plan. I’d end up pinning you down on the sofa while Arthur turned the tv off.” By the end of that podcast you’d all become out of breath from all the laughing.

Definitely the type of tester to go:

George: could you get me a coffee from Starbucks while you there please? 🙏

Y/n: yeah anything else?

George: nah, thank you, your an amazing girlfriend and girl boss ✌️😜

Y/n: right… love you too?

One time you were both filming for Arthur Hill’s video ‘platform roulette’ when you four were on the train; the camera was pointing at you and George as you looked out the window to see a herd of cows. George ‘had’ to say “oh Y/n didn’t know you and your friends were out there!” You scrunched you face and made a comeback “aww that means you are there too.” You four were all pissing yourself laughing.

You are both as cuddly as each other, definitely if you’ve had a bad day or your ill he’s definitely giving you so much love and comfort. Even when your sick he’ll just tell you it’s fine, you are cuddling him while watching tv then he’ll either order or make you guys food.

Loves buying things that remind him of you, even if it’s a funny gift. He will also take photos and send them to you if he’s on holiday and your at home.

I wouldn’t say he is the over protective boyfriend, I mean he knows your his and he’s yours. At the end of the day he knows you are coming home with him so yeah. But if you need him for a reason he’d be there to defend you or protect you definitely!

Overall, your relationship is full of love and laughs. Definitely see you guys together till the end of time. Definitely one of the popular uk TikTok/YouTube couple.

Still not allowed in the lab (they are insisting I wait until Monday) so until then, it gives me a chance to tell you about the differences I've noticed between living in Central City, and Gotham.

Central City

Central City has a much nicer energy. People feel happier, more at ease, for the most part (I would say that I had encountered worse Karens in CC than in Gotham).

The Flash Museum is fantastic, if a bit cheesy at times. I go every time I visit my mum, because they add to it's collection frequently.

I once went on a tour of S.T.A.R. Labs for school, the gentleman who gave the tour was very enthusiastic, but made very little sense (we are in sixth grade). It was really cool.

Granite National Park is a treasure. I've found that some people didn't like our various school trips there? I never really understood that sentiment, the folks who care for that land have done a spectacular job.

The Flash family (is that what people call them collectively?) - a delight. The school I attended had a text chat where we send "sightings" pics to each other (they are always the most blurry photos).

Gotham City

Gotham has amazing architecture. I've not seen anything like it outside of Gotham, really. It's a mix of more gothic themes and modern architectural design that gives it a feeling of a noire novel.

The botanical gardens are stunning. I plan to visit them later today. If you get lucky, you can be there when one of the WE biotech team members are there, and can ask questions.

There is a surprising amount of things to do - an overwhelming amount really. You can go to three plays and a movie in a single night if you wanted to.

There is an unofficial "rogue watch" podcast.

There is ALSO one for "Robin Watch" which is dedicated to the entire gaggle of bats, not just Robin. It has become more like a gossip/theory podcast recently.

The rogue attacks are worse. Substantially. I cannot explain to you why. But they feel worse. In CC - they happened, sure, but I never felt unsafe. Gotham however? I don't know a single person who doesn't keep some form of self defense weapon on them at all times.

(I'm just getting home from work and able to access the internet again, so sorry this is so late, but...)

Dracula Daily/Re: Dracula (which is the same thing but podcast and lovingly soundscaped and please go listen if you aren't already) is getting into some of my favorite parts now, and I know most of this analysis has been done to death, but there was one thing I wanted to point out.

Last year when Dracula Daily blew up big time, there were a lot of jokes and memes about Quincey Morris' first reaction to the bat being to shoot it. But I think a lot of people forgot about this bit from today's entry:

I have not seen anything pulled down so quick since I was on the Pampas and had a mare that I was fond of go to grass all in a night. One of those big bats that they call vampires had got at her in the night, and what with his gorge and the vein left open, there wasn't enough blood in her to let her stand up, and I had to put a bullet through her as she lay.

(Emphasis mine.)

Quincey is the only one apart from Van Helsing who's seen something like this happen before, even if he assumes it's just a bat and not something worse (and even if he doesn't realize yet, at this point in the story, that that's what's happening to Lucy). He's one of the faster ones to put two and two together. And, crucially, he's already had to kill one helpless thing he loved because of what a vampire (bat) did. The last thing he's going to want is to lose Lucy to such a thing.

Of course he's going to shoot a bat when he sees it. It's a simple, straightforward solution to the problem - shoot the creature, stop it from killing. The other thing to think about is that he's a Texan, most likely a cowman - and if he has the finances to come to England like he has, most likely he (or his family) owns a cattle ranch rather than him just being a hand on one. He's probably familiar with animal attacks on cattle, and knows to watch out for animals attacking humans. At the time, it was commonly assumed that once an animal gets a taste for human flesh/blood, it starts to prefer them. And when that happens, the animal must be killed; there's no going back, whether it was a wild animal or a previously domesticated one.

On another note, if you are interested in "characters who find out the supernatural exists and immediately beat the shit out of it for hurting someone they care about", may I recommend subscribing to the Old Gods of Appalachia Patreon for the low price of $10 a month (even if you just subscribe for one month to at least listen to all seventeen episodes of Build Mama a Coffin) and getting acquainted with one Indiana Boggs?

the thing about listening to podcasts to go to sleep is that if you forget to set a sleep timer and they keep playing, they can invade your dreams.

so when your wife wakes you up abruptly at 5am because there's a bat in the bathroom, you're still halfway parsing the world in the weird drug-kingpin-with-drug-smuggling-submarine dream that you couldn't figure out where it came from until you later look at the list of episodes that played and realize one was literally about drug smuggling submarines.

anyway the bat was duly caught with a bucket and released outdoors and I didn't have any more weird maritime dreams, but last night was surreal.

Audio Drama Sunday - 3rd September ✨

I think it’s criminal to have to work on a Sunday instead of going on a little walk and listening to little podcasts, but here we are 🫠 It’s been a frankly ridiculous week of listening and there’s still so much more I haven’t had time to catch yet!

🌲@hellofromthehallowoods (131) Percy! Going to get Diggory! I think it makes it so bittersweet that he was about to apologise off the bat because you just KNOW that when they meet for real it won’t happen that easily. My god, I could listen to.a whole show just about this hastily assembled Friends of Zelda team. It’s so lovely to have Alice back in the narrative and I care for Tattery Stabs so much!! ‘How much do you like your brother?’ Really cracked me up. I love how hfth takes horror tropes (e.g. creepy doll) and they’re immediately someone new to love. Speaking of someone to love!! Hector is putting in a really good bid for the award of ‘most traumatised man in the Hallowoods’, though the competition remains tough. This experience will no doubt have changed him, I can’t wait to find out how!

🦀 @thesiltverses (31) So many new and familiar voices in this new season and all of them are delightful! The writing and delivery of Val’s monologue in particular was so powerful and I was left cringing in my skin at the callous assertions that she is controllable… did we just hear the same thing? I have no idea what is going to happen this season and it’s thrilling and terrifying in equal measure!

🦮 @malevolentcast (35) This episode is such a rollercoaster oh my god!! There are so many layers of horror here! Not just the fear of the ‘other’ and of what other humans can do, but also the intrinsic fear of losing the self. What’s happening with John is so very unsettling, it’s been so long that we’ve almost taken for granted the way that John guides Arthur . . . what will he do when he can’t trust John’s assessment of the situation?

📻 @monstrousagonies (110) penultimate?! Excuse me??!! Penultimate!!! How am I going to cope without having fictional night folk problems solving my actual real life problems every week?? Panic aside, I really loved this episode. I was so glad to hear the presenter telling the author of the first letter that it actually wouldn’t be unreasonable to kick off just a little. I’ve often thought about just bringing a cat home and seeing what my wife would do . . . (I know this is bad, it’s not going to happen 👀) BUT a CHILD? And aw, yay, what a satisfying end to an unsatisfactory CEO. It was a pleasure to meet station and the MA community was in fine voice!

🌒 @monkeymanproductions Moonbase Theta Out FINALE!! I’m not going to share too many thoughts today because it may not even be out at the time of posting but IT’S AMAZING GO LISTEN!!!! Seriously, I cried so much at the thought of this show being over. I’ve loved it for such a long time and it’s been amazing to listen to it grow and see all the team’s hard work pay off spectacularly!

🧛‍♂️ @re-dracula what a busy, busy week for the Dracula characters! Marriages, millions of kisses, casual medical abuse, VAN HELSING. What a week.

🧬 Regina Prime (7) Damn, Epsilon has both the fire and the fight! Veeerrryyy interesting that Omega needs an assistant with a physical body… what have you got, Omega? I’m imagining a clone that is 1000s of years old, more mush than human. And the slip up with the number of clones . . . Omega . . . ? Something you want to share with the rest of the class??

💫 Wolf 359 (49 - 50) I am usually not the biggest fan of time loop stories but, of course, if W359 makes it, you know it’s gonna be great. The whole set up of the aliens being unable to communicate clearly because Doug chats absolute shit all the time is just so endearing to me. I can’t believe I’m getting so close to the end!

🏴‍☠️ Yes, I did listen to the @levianpod pilot again. What of it? Please, please support this show if you can! It must be made. I need it.

🎧 So lovely to hear from @thestoragepapers in last week’s episode of The First Episode Of! I feel like it’s so brave to ask for people to join in on the writing of your show but we love to see a collaboration thriving!! I need to bump this up my to-listen list!

🐬 @patterspod (3) Fiona Caruso, the woman, the myth, the legend. Someone needs to check in on the thriller writers because they’re just not okay… Also, Ryan, you idiot. I don’t even know if we can blame the influence of some eldritch force on these bad publishing attempts, but I feel like he’s going to snap like one of twig man’s branches at the slightest supernatural pressure. Which will be fun for us, at least!

All these amazing episodes, but my ears are bigger than my schedule and I still need to listen to new KILL FM. I’ve been really, really meaning to catch up on Additional Postage Required as well! Here’s hoping for a more chilled week next week! 🤞

The quick rundown is I'm Jay, I'm 18 and this is (primarily) a Team StarKid blog. All my socials are under the same name. Since turning 18, I’ve become incredulously blunt apparently so be warned: I’m embracing the bitch within! I also fucking hate Robert Manion and if you support him then fuck off! The man sexually harassed a coworker and said some very, very sketchy things about Beauty And The Beast while hating on the company that made him famous during NMT2's run so if you support him then politely, block me.

I got sick of the Hatchetfield's fandom's stupid theories and ended up making track 14 on fitf. I've been in this hellhole since jan 7th 2019. I know the lore better than new fans ever will. The new fans got to watch NPMD on a whim. I had to wait four fucking years so excuse the fact if I'm blunt about it, I have autism and don't like incorrect facts. Moving on:

The name "Vesperione" comes from the two names of Vesperia and Viperion merged together with an e added on the end (vespe-rion+e). Originally, my username was robertstanion (i say this confidently to prove if I can disown that fucker then anyone can) but when I made the move to multifandom, I wanted something universal. Besides. Don't lie to yourself. Vesperione sounds fucking cool

I also really like music. Like. Really like music. I like musicals, and I like music. Some of my favourite artists include: Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Dallas Thornton, Chappell Roan, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan. My favourite musicals are NPMD, TGWDLM, Black Friday, Little Shop Of Horrors, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Heathers and Everybody's Talking About Jamie.

And when I'm not being autistic about all of that ^ I am being autistic over my immense love for cosplay and drag queens! (yes i cosplay but i'll never publicly speak my cosplay acc @)

In other words, this blog is a mess. I love horror based media so the majority of this blog is that, but it changes at any one time. Be prepared for literally anything.

Welcome back and buckle up! Host Juda Boone contemplates and conspires about the #1 ship of Gotham City: Bruce Wayne x Batman.

Hello everyone and welcome back! This is Goth-Pod, your Gotham based podcast. Speaking to you today is your favorite undiagnosed host, Juda Boone.

In today’s episode we are going deeper into something I touched on in our special Gotham troubles episode. Something that has been heavily requested. Today, we are talking about the Gotham phenomenon of BruceMan.

BruceMan is the real-person ship of Bruce Wayne and Batman. Gotham’s preserver of the day, and her watchdog of the night.

Without saying too much on my own opinions of the ship, I do understand the appeal of soft, tender hands holding onto claws.

Bruce Wayne is a rich man, yes, but he does not forget the things Gotham took from him. He doesn't brush off the tragedy that is his city and ignore it within the safety of his tower.

He and his company put in the work everyday to try and make sure that when those tragedies strike, that people have the resources to keep themselves afloat.

And yes, I said when. Wayne recognizes that there isn't much he can do to stop it from striking. Unlike Batman, who is out every night to prevent.

They balance each other like that. They both love the city, and have different places where they can help. I think that's where people get the idea that they could fall in love.

The interactions of Batman rescuing the Prince of Gotham could be just that- interactions between a victim and a vigilante. The Bat saves a lot of people.

But people see the opportunity for more.

For the record: Wayne hasn’t commented on the Ship at any point through the years.

Can you imagine it, though? Locking eyes with someone who is so fundamentally different from you, yet you’re the same down to your core. You share a love for a City that is incapable of loving you back. But this person, or thing, in front of you, is an extension of that City. And if they can love you, then it’s an extension of that love.

I’m getting poetic again, but it’s hard not to when you look at these two and how they parallel each other so well. Even without the romantic lens, it’s interesting to think of Gotham’s favorite son and her protective Bat.

I spoke more on Bruce Wayne here because.. Not much is known about the Bat’s true motives. There are no interviews of our resident shadow to dissect on how he feels about Gotham or about Wayne. Even after years since his appearance, its speculation. And so is this ship.

I enjoy it most when it's all in good fun.

It's Creator Day on Itch!

That means that 100% of what you pay on itch goes to the creators! Which means I'm going to talk about the TTRPGs you can buy on itch that I've played since the last creator day!

As soon as I read Orbital Blues by Soul Muppet Publishing for the first time, I was like “oh this game is made for me.” If you’ve ever wanted to play a game that emulates space westerns like Cowboy Bebop, this is an excellent one.

Cantrip by Hipólita uses the Belonging Outside Belonging system to tell stories about young witches finding themselves and their powers in a magical academy. Cantrip’s prompts give little peeks into a rich world just begging to be explored.

Not only is Paris Gondo by Kalum from The Rolistes Podcast incredibly easy to pick up and play, it’s also SO funny, starting with the very concept of playing as adventurers who are trying to survive their journey out of a dungeon with as much useful and meaningful stuff as they can carry. I also have to mention that the Miro board for online play is ingenious. I've linked the English version, but it's also available in French.

My friend @wildjayblue wrote a game that feels as though it was written for me specifically. Totally Normal Human Roommates is a game where you and your friends play as totally normal humans. Like the Nocturnal Human, who has a strong bite and hypnotic personality. Or the Hirsute Human, who is weak to moonlight and silver, just like lots of humans are!

Babes in the Wood by World Champ Game Co. is a game that perfectly captures the feeling of watching Over The Garden Wall for the first time, but also makes you feel SO CLEVER for having told such a good, original story by the end of it.

If you’re a sucker for cheesy holiday movies and you want to play a game that lets you compete against your friends to become the protagonist of one, look no further than Hometown Holiday by @kidnickgames. The mechanics are simple but very fun, and the playbooks perfectly emulate the genre.

Do you have a vampire OC and want to put them through a tough night? Do you want to MAKE a vampire OC in order to put them through a rough night? Bloodless by @enniogoes is the game for you! Bloodless uses the Caltrop Core system and I love that the prompts swing from funny to heartbreaking, and I had an absolute blast when I played.

I love Phoenix Wright, so when I heard about Justicar from @dinoberrypress, I HAD to play it. Justicar is one of those games where the setup portion of the game is as fun as watching the whole thing unravel in the in-character portion. The setting can be anything you want, and the collaborative and zero-prep nature of the game makes Justicar unpredictable and hilarious.

I also want to shoutout a few Mausritter adventuring locations I’ve used from Itch! First up is Temple of the Slumbering Orchid by @imsobadatnicknames2. Running this felt like leading my players through a Legend of Zelda dungeon in the best way.

Drained Temple of the Brackish Basin by brstf has such an unusual concept, and my players had a lot of fun exploring the unique creatures and chambers of this temple, including a very fun little hermit crab character.

I am a huge @mortphilippa stan, so of COURSE I’m going to recommend Tomb of the Slumbering Queen, a creepy, bat-filled Mausritter location. Philippa is the queen of rollable tables (this one features effects from eating strange mushrooms), and her NPC art is charming. While you’re there, make sure to check out Philippa’s other stuff because it’s all good.

I'll wrap up by saying that an added bonus to playing any of these games is that there are REALLY REALLY GOOD one-shots of all of them on YouTube...because I've run them all on stream.

Aw man that one post about you being the f/o has been stuck in my head all day… anyways I have drawings queued up for tomorrow but I have so much more I’ve thought about LMAO these are gonna be really self projecting but I need to remember CRINGE IS DEAD BECAUSE I KILLED IT !!!

So for the media Ace is from, I think it’s still the Aqua.bats, it’s just Different. The cast is different, smaller, and it’s still got the classic uniform and everything. Basically it’s the su.per sh.ow but without the actual guys, just different characters

I think the guys in this AU are all college roommates bwjsjs

Jimmy selfships along with Bones, he just ships with a different character, @doing-science who’s character Kae is the ‘bats videographer who also turns into a dog at night

Ricky kinda makes fun of Bones and Jimmy for selfshipping, not really knowing what all it’s about, until he goes on to look it up himself. He ends up making a secret selfship blog and ships with an OC of his (it’s really just Quera from the irl AB!SS!) he becomes secret mutuals with Jimmy and Bones but still pokes fun at them in person 💀

Crash doesn’t really get the whole shipping thing, but he likes watching the show casually with Bones and Jimmy

The commander cares not at all for any of what’s going on, he’d rather be at a party on campus or something bwjsjs

This universe’s AB!SS! is a lot more successful than the one we have irl,,, it has more merch for Jimmy and Bones to collect, Jimmy doesn’t get very much merch but he has a few Kae specific things, Bones goes HAM on merch. He’s got all the CDs, the first few seasons of the show on dvd, he’s got tshirts, he’s got hoodies, he’s got the themed socks and he even got a hot topic exclusive edition of the Ace funko pop 🙄 there’s a few pieces of merch that elude him, but he has too much at this point already

He doesn’t exclusively have aqua.bats merch, though that’s most of it. he normally just gets like random band tshirts and stuff for other media, never to the same extent

Jimmy and bones went plushie shopping together, Jimmy got a big dog plush that looked like Kae’s dog form, and Bones got an official tm Ace plush, a small pink bat, and a little falcon plushie so that he could put it with the pink bat plushie :3

Jimmy and bones go to their local convention and see some Aqua.bats cosplayers cosplaying Ace and Kae and they psych themselves out and lose them before they can ask for pictures in a calm enough manner 💀

Bones listens to all the interviews and podcasts and stuff about his version of the Aqua.bats, and gives Jimmy the run down on what goes on in them

Reactions As I Read: ● ugh, Joker kissing on the cover. despite Harley Quinn and all that, I always feel a little weird seeing Joker kissing someone. he seems like such a deeply unsexual being to me. ● has it been three weeks-ish since the end of the last issue?? ● my heart! poor Alfred looks so lost! ● carrying the groceries to her place is one thing. coming inside and putting the groceries away for her is way overstepping, considering you two literally just met ● unless Alfred is using all his skills to make excuses, surely Bruce Wayne’s absence has been noticed. well… the man does leave the country often enough. maybe Alfred just has to say that he’s in the Alps again or something. ● the Bat-signal goes unanswered… ● this B-story with Rebecca and Joseph is sweet. too sweet to last… ● Joseph Kerr… ● gah, I wanna give Alfred a hug!

Synopsis: Three weeks have passed since the Joker kidnapped Councilwoman Elizabeth Kenner. Captain Gordon is in his office watching the news. Reports of a brutally beaten and strangled body being fished out of Gotham Bay are followed by Kenner making comments about Captain Gordon, taking him to task about not apprehending the Joker as well as the unknown fate of Batman. While looking at a picture of Joker on the Batcomputer, Alfred also wonders if Joker indeed killed him.

Joker has been living in an apartment in Park Ridge, the very same site as his bombing, since his last encounter with Batman. He has deluded himself into inventing a generic name for himself, Joseph Kerr, and that he just moved to Gotham City from someplace he cannot seem to remember. He has himself believe that he just lost his parents, his apartment paid for by an inheritance from their deaths, supposedly has a job working for an accounting firm, and is taking medication for his skin condition, living life as an average everyday guy. He immediately bumps into a pretty young woman from across the hall named Rebecca Brown and the two are instantly attracted to one another.

Weeks pass and Alfred still wonders if indeed Batman is dead, while Gordon continues to hear Kenner's harsh comments towards him and Batman's fate, as well as keeping the faith by having the Bat-Signal lit. Joseph and Rebecca have become a happy couple who enjoy the same things such as old comedic reels and radio shows from the 1930s and 1940s. However, kinks start to appear in the sanity of Joseph as he suffers from horrible nightmares and comes across various links to his former life as Joker.

The body in the bay is identified as Dr. Elias Bruckner; a plastic surgeon who specialized in new faces for criminals. His being seen for the last time with the Joker right after the Comedia Theater was destroyed further fuels rumors of Joker still being at large in the city as well as Batman being dead. On the television news, the tension between Gordon and Kenner becomes white-hot, while Alfred tries his best to tend to the manor. Joseph is watching this same newscast, which causes him to become angry, almost hitting Rebecca in the process. He is able to stop himself from going through with it, but runs out of the apartment and into the elevator, giving in a little to his former persona. Gordon finally turns off the Bat Signal one night.

More weeks pass and Rebecca wakes up to a room of flowers and a happy Joseph, who proposes marriage to her. An ecstatic Rebecca accepts his proposal. Unable to sleep, Alfred descends into the Batcave when suddenly a familiar voice calls his name. He turns to see Batman who proclaims his return.

who cares if you name yourself something other people think is silly?? jay got their name from a podcast, i have a friend who named themselves after one of jupiters moons, my brother named himself after a character from stardew valley i have a friend named log and another named bee and another named jake after the adventure time character. i literally named myself after a prophet, and before ezekiel i considered nyx/phoenix, like the goddess of the night and i got phoenix from a silly ya book i read.

we're all silly. that's just a part of life, kiddo

even the "normal" people are silly. they name their kids after their favourite tv show characters or book characters, and no one bats an eye.

so please don't say you don't deserve things. becuase believe me, ive been down that road, you're only going to hurt yourself even more. it's not a good road to go down. been down it, witnessed my brother and several of our friends go down it, i don't want someone else to feel how i felt.

you deserve to indulge in your interests, you deserve to be happy about things and like the ships you do, and you should never change that to please someone else.

you don't have to contribute anything to matter.

because you matter anyway.
