NOT THE GLOBALIZATION ASSIGNMENT 💀 i just finished an essay on the pros and cons of globalization for a contemporary world class except i had to focus on writing the pros because my groupmate was writing about the cons and man i was fighting for my life

Head in hands I might have to write my Abitur about that I don't want to have to write five hours about politics I thought English class had you do more idk Literature or something "Oh but it's like German but in English" In German we are currently doing movie analysis I don't see how those two things are comparable.

But no genuinely I was sitting there an hour just staring at those two pages of text that were all just documenting the way globalisation under the hand of capitalism turns us all into miserable little creatures and nobody profits except the BIG firms and like. My teacher wants us to give quotes we are always supposed to give quotes I can not quote two pages worth of text. That was one of three parts of the assignment. The other two were to analyse how the author uses metaphors (????? We're there even any?????????? I'm supposed to give six examples I can't even remember one?????) And to comment on, explain and state my opinion on either "America first" or "Take back control" as slogans. This woman is just letting me write an exam at this point what even is this.

1. Tucking strands of loose hair behind their ears, with a thumb caressing their cheek

With all the hustle and bustle of everyday life, thinking about yourself was the last thing that could occur in your busy head. And that worried the captain a little.

"Are you sure you don't want to take a break?" John questioned every five minutes, when he noticed the frown appearing on her otherwise beautiful face.

"No, I have to finish this as soon as possible." That's what you always replied, bending further into the work in front of you.

You heard John sigh beside you and soon after, the cup of tea he was holding landed on the table. He moved the chair next to yours away and sat down next to you, watching you with his bright sapphire eyes.

While your fingers quickly pressed down on the keyboard of your laptop, small strands of hair settled on the side of your face, almost reaching your visual field. John, noticing this, slid his fingers into the unruly strands and tucked them behind his ear. Then his calloused fingers rested on your cheek gently, as if he was afraid of hurting you.

This gesture seemed to catch your attention, for when he noticed, your gleaming gaze was watching his movements carefully and no longer on that tedious document. As if wanting to know his next move.

Possessing your attention completely, John sketched a slight smile on his face as he continued the gentle caress on your cheek. You sighed and let yourself get lost in his touch, placing your soft hand over John's firm hand.

"You finally looked at me, darling." That was the last thing John said before joining your mouth on his.

2. Interlacing their fingers with the other’s when they least expect it

You and Price were lying on his bed. Your little sleeping figure nestled into the captain's warm, sturdy chest.

John never ceased to be amazed at how adorable you looked, even in your sleep. Your body was so fragile compared to his own. It seemed as if you would disappear or break at any moment.

While admiring you, John noticed the slight change in your face. It was like a sky of blue petals being invaded by annoying and melancholic grey clouds, announcing that rain was approaching.

John took your hand and entwined your small fingers in his warm ones, leaving a comforting cuddle. In a way that let you know he was there and that you didn't need to be afraid.

"Shh…it's okay, sweetheart. I'm here." John whispered, like a promise as he kissed each of your delicate fingers. His facial hair tickling the area.

At his comforting words, your bothered expression sketched a sweet smile. Your body moved closer to his, as if you wanted to feel more of his welcoming warmth.

John smiled and continued kissing your fingers, as a reminder of his protecting presence.

3. Surprising the other with flowers just because; no occasion and no reason needed

John had left the country exactly a couple of weeks ago, as he had been called up for another mission with his task force. And as usual, with no date to return. Which meant it could last almost a month, or even longer.

It was always painful for both of you to say goodbye, not knowing when you might see each other again or if anything might happen to him.

Just the thought of John covered in blood and full of injuries was enough to make your whole body shiver with fear. You always hated having that disturbing image following you around every moment he went away.

Before you could think of anything else, the sound of the doorbell rang through your house, freeing you from the distressing thoughts. You stood up and made your way to the door of your house. When you opened it, the young delivery man appeared, holding a huge bouquet of your favourite flowers.

You picked them up after signing the paper confirming the delivery. After saying goodbye to the delivery man, you walked back into your house and sat down on your couch.

Looking at the bouquet, you realised that there was a small card hidden among the graceful flowers. Picking it up, you could see Price's elegant handwriting.

"Your favourite flowers, to remind you that I am always with you, my love.

With love, J.P."

You felt the wet tears running down your cheeks as you finished reading the card. God, you missed him so much. It hurt to remember that he was far away, fighting to protect the world from the evil that was spreading.

You wiped your tears and ran your fingers through the delicate petals of the flowers.

You couldn't wait to be in his strong arms again.

4. Getting them something from the store when they only mentioned it in passing

You and John were walking through the streets of London, enjoying the unusually fine weather in the rainy city. It wasn't often that you could enjoy a beautiful sunny day without rain falling on your face.

His fingers intertwined as they walked through the busy passages as a way of keeping her close to him. She smiled as she felt his strong hand wrap around hers, along with the light caress.

With a bit of courage, you wrapped your arm around John's strong arm, bringing your bodies even closer together. You looked up and noticed the captain's blue eyes staring at you warmly, along with a slight smile of surprise.

You blushed and quickly looked away from his intense blue, looking around the shops on the street to distract yourself. Noticing the particular bookshop, your gaze quickly brightened.

"John! John! Let's go in there!" You practically crawled the large man behind you.

"Sure, love." John laughed at your enthusiastic reaction, following you like an obedient puppy.

As you entered the bookshop, you looked at the books on display and your expression brightened as you noticed the new book from your favourite collection. You quickly picked it up and began to appreciate it.

"Ah, it's so beautiful. What I'd give to have him right now…" You mumbled as you practically hugged the book.

"Why don't you buy it then?" John questioned, crossing his strong arms over his broad chest.

"I wanted to, but when they're released they're always more expensive." You sighed sadly, forming an adorable little peck on your lips. "I'll probably have to wait for the price to come down…"

John moved closer to you and left a light kiss on your forehead, making you laugh as you felt the tickle of his facial hair.

"I'm sure you'll get it soon enough." You laughed and scoffed at his statement, while his intense gaze landed on the book.

It took nothing more for the next day, the book you had been wanting so badly to appear on your doorstep.

5. Getting lost in each other's gaze

John and you were sitting on the balcony seats of his room, enjoying the fascinating view of the sun hiding and disappearing. The two of you were chatting as you felt the light breeze.

However, noticing that you were the only one talking, you gradually stopped talking as you noticed Price's lost look. You thought you had done something wrong so you nestled there and looked away in embarrassment, until he spoke again.

"I love you." At first, you thought you had been dreaming. However, as you faced him again, you could see his deep ocean softening and becoming kinder.

"I love you." Price repeated again, adding your name to the statement. However, you were too lost in his serene blue gaze. The emotion in his eyes was deep, but they carried the warmth and love he felt for you.

You smiled and let a tear run down your cheek, which was soon wiped away by John's fingers on your cheek.

"I know." You replied with a laugh. "I love you so much too, John."

Price smiled and pulled you into his lap. You snuggled your face into the curve of his neck, while his fingers gently stroked your back.

You stared at each other once more before joining your lips. In the background, the sun was slowly disappearing, letting an orange colour run across the previously blue sky, making the scene unforgettable in the memories of both of you.

Artem was usually the early bird. Even during the weekends, he would get up at six o'clock right on the dot, not a minute less nor more. People called him a robot because of it, but he didn't see the value in dwelling on others' opinions, but yours? Artem felt on edge every time you glanced at him, and he could not help but wonder what was going on in your pretty little mind.

Such thoughts plagued Artem Wing's mind often.

Which was probably why he was being like this right now, waking up a few minutes earlier than usual just to stare at your glorious face. It had become a habit.

A bit of sunlight pooled in through the cracks of the curtains that did not cover the window fully, illuminating your glorious face. Even now, as he lay in bed with you, Artem could not believe that he had gotten you — the love of his life — to fall in love with him. What did you see in him?

He reached out to your face in reverence and laid his hands on your soft cheek, caressing every bump or scar you could possibly have as he smiled. Once again, he could not help but wonder what he had done to deserve this.

He leaned in closer, observing every bit of your face; from your lashes to your lips that were chapped from the air conditioning, every part of you was perfect in Artem's eyes. He let out a shaky breath as he lay his head closer to yours, seeking comfort in the crook of your neck desperately. He breathed in your scent and let out a small groan, he really really hoped this was not some sort of dream or fantasy he would have to wake up from.

Suddenly, the alarm for six o'clock rang, and his eyes widened as you stirred in bed, eyes slowly fluttering open to Artem's bewilderment. He watched as your countenance shift from tiredness to adoration as your eyes met his.

Artem quickly shifted to turn the alarm off, never once leaving your side.

"Did I wake you up?" His raspy morning voice asked softly, not wanting to startle you too much so early in the morning.

"Good morning," you greeted first before answering him. "No, you didn't. The alarm did." You joked to him, to which he chuckled back and shook his head.

"I need to remember to turn off that alarm when I wake up next time." Artem scolded himself.

"No, no, it's fine. I need to get up anyway." You yawned, preparing to rise from the comfortable sheets of Artem's bed.

Surprisingly, though, two lean arms pull you downward.

"We don't need to arrive in the office so early today." Your eyes widened at your darling's words. Never before had you seen nor heard this disciplined man suggest the idea of being a tad bit late to the office, even if he wasn't required to clock in early. It seemed that Artem sensed your shock and blushed a deep shade of crimson. "I just thought that..." He started, his arms loosening on your body.

Upon realising the insecurity you inflicted onto Artem, you quickly wrapped your arms around him, returning his bear hug with a goofy grin.

"I just thought that we could spend more time before the sun properly rose." Said Artem, looking up at you for approval.

"That works." You smiled back as you eased into his hold.

This time, it was Artem's turn to flash a goofy smile as his grasp tightened again; not too harsh nor too soft, just enough so you would not be able to escape. He leaned in, his hot breath hitting your nape which caused a shiver to travel down your spine and before you could say anything else, Artem was already assaulting your neck with soft kisses and sweet words to your ears.

"I love you." Artem said as his laps dragged up from the side of your neck to your jaw, peppering excessive kisses — he didn't view it that way — against your skin. "I love you." He repeated again as his lips finally met yours.

"I love you too." You replied and Artem felt like all the weight on his shoulders just dispersed.

Artem looked down at you. You were perfect, that [e/c] shade of your eyes, the way your cheeks felt in his tough hands, the warmth of your body compared to his and the way you looked up at him with so much want yet with a hint of bashfulness.

It was like you were beckoning him to fall deeper into the rabbit hole that was you.

"I love you." He repeated breathily onto your lips as he pressed against them once again.

Not that he minded. He would gladly fall deeper for you if that was even possible.

"I love you more than anything." He promised.

"I love you, too." You giggled back, holding him closer to you. "I love you so much."

He wished that time could stop right now, just so he'd be able to cherish this moment — cherish you — for a longer period of time.

For now, as long as the sun was not fully in the sky, you were his to worship.
