Finally, I did it. I have read the most popular book that broke TikTok.

It ends with us.

With a few little spoilers, I am going to tell you that this is one of the most romantic and terrifying stories that I have read in the last year. And believe me, I read a lot. It keeps you captivated with each chapter and envelops you with tears, passion, anger, and relief.

I read it in less than two days because I also had to sleep. Although, I could have kept going and read it all in the same day. So…

It ends with us tells the story of a twenty-three-year-old girl, Lily Bloom, who was stuck between feelings for her long-lost first love and a new man she couldn’t get out of her mind. She enters a relationship with a gorgeous surgeon, despite the fact that she fears she will never see her first love again. Unfortunately, the twist happened when she least expected it. Her new love turns out to be a monster, and her first love is still waiting to have her back. Thus, Lily struggles to break the cycle of domestic violence in her life and help her soulmate fight his own demons. But nothing is so easy… especially when you're sucked back into the memories of the ideal first t love.

Don’t let me tell you more, although spoilers are inevitable.

Short introduction into The Miles High Club by T. L. Swan

T. L. Swan's The Miles High Club series was recently completed for me. For those who don’t know, this is a series of books that seems to be quite similar to “50 Shades of Gray”. Romance, passion, and sex. These four books tell the love stories of four brothers, the Miles brothers. They are the heirs of Miles Media Imperia and the most handsome and desirable men in America. Actually, Jameson and Tristan head the New York office of Miles Media, while Elliot and Christopher lead the London one.

The brothers are well-known for their colorful and secretive personal lives. The most beautiful and well-known girls of the town fly around them, trying to draw their attention. And guess what?  Nevertheless, all of them fall in love with average-looking girls. You will say it is trivial, but let me just tell you the plot of their stories.

Jameson, the eldest brother and the CEO of New York Miles Media, is a man who tries to make a deal between his two personalities: a workaholic and a romantic and caring boyfriend. He has had a long relationship with a workaholic like him, Claudia, but after some years of dating they have decided to take a break to fix their careers and then come back to their engagement. Who knew that at this time, Jameson would meet a cute and lovely girl who would turn his entire life upside down?!

Tristan is a master at fixing things that don’t work anymore, and this certain part of his character got him to know Claire. She is a widow trying to keep her husband’s business afloat. She received an offer from Tristan to sell him her company, because both of them knew that she didn’t have the knowledge and time to handle it. But she didn’t give up. Without any doubt, she rejected his offer. This is a huge part of her passed-away husband’s dream, and it isn’t so easy for her to let it go. Tristan saw something special in Claire’s determination and was tempted to bring her into his life. But no one claims this will be an easy prize. He has to deal with her sons!

Over the ocean, Elliot, known as Casanova, chases Harriet Elbow, an artist who talks to him through her paintings. What a strange man! His tabloid portrait doesn’t reflect the kind of deep and romantic man he is inside. Probably because of this, he keeps his personal life away from cameras. He has started a wonderful relationship with an average girl named Katherine, but he is still dreaming about his exceptional and mysterious artist. But what will happen when he finally finds his fate?

Christopher is the youngest of the Miles brothers. Being treated like a rich and spoiled guy, he decided to get a do-over and go backpacking. At his first stop in Spain, he got six nice friends with whom he has decided to travel around Europe, catching new experiences, sightseeing, and struggling with a lack of money. But with one of these friends, he has a special connection. Is this a friendship or something more? Time will tell.

I wasn’t writing anything here for some month just because of...

Of my university. I have a lot of stuff to do for my last year at the master and I don’t have time to do something for my soul, like writing here. But today I have found some time and I have thought to share with you, the person who maybe is reading this, what’s happening in my life. I have less than 3 months and finally I am going to finish my master degree.

But I don’t want to talk about it today. I just want to share with you my experience about makeup lessons.

All right, I never have thought that are so many things that you should know to do a makeup. Actually makeup is just a technique with some steps that you should follow to have a good result at the end.

And voila, I learned how to do a basically to go makeup, a party one, smoky eyes and eyeliners. I was nervous at the first lessons because I didn’t have no idea how to do a makeup like a professional one, but my teachers told me a nice thing:

Never thing about makeup so much, just try and it will be good with every attempt.

So now I am more confident about myself when I do my makeup and I try to experiment more to catch new and new hacks every time.

PS: And yaa, I have started watch to many videos and tutorial in YouTube about makeup. It’s contagious.

My first reading in English...

Yes, I never read a book in English… An entire one. Obviously I have read some articles, short texts in my study English book, but never a “really” one. I mean a novel, a poetry book or a magazine in English. And now, I have decided to start! I was in library some days ago and I bought two books: The Great Gatsby and Such Pretty Things.

And as you could suppose I have start with Gatsby. Difficult? Oh… how to say. A bit! It’s nice that fact that now I know almost all the most important tenses in English, so it’s easily for me to understand the time of actions happening. But I still have a lot of words that I don’t know. So the dictionary is all the time near to me. I’m not sure about fact that I remember all those new words, but when they appear again and again throughout the text I deposit them somewhere in a drawer in my head. Maybe in one day I will start to use them.

So wish me good luck, power to finish this book and to start a new one. Still reading!

 PS: Have to remind that the English is not my native language! 😅

Toxic

No, it’s not the name of Britney Spears’s song, it’s about the people around you that make you feel unconfident. Don’t think that I have become a psychologist, I have just finished to read a book about people who destroy our life through their way to be.

Maybe you are able to recognize someone from your environment: your boss, a colleague, husband or maybe parents. They try to make yourself to play their game with their own rules and you, because of your innocence and clear soul, get into this game. All this things and actions make you feel sad, powerless, near to a gap that push you to depression.

It will be difficult for me to explain you all the type of the toxic people, but I can share with you some advice how to manage their pressure on you.

1. Be confident

Do you have this feeling that you are not good enough for something or someone? Why? That is a reason why all this toxic people can play with you, with your emotions and your thoughts. Be confident! Maybe you are not perfect, no one of us is, but be sure that everything that you do or say it’s just because make you feel confident, not because will make someone happy to hear or see it.

2. Build borders

No one can come into your life and impose his rules. It’s your territory! Talk about you don’t like and accept before let the person come into your life.

3. Hit back

I know, you are more too sensitive, kind-hearted and kindly to do this, but you should try. I don’t talk about use the same methods like they, to insult or to hurt someone. Just recognize them and make sure you are able to manage the situation. If a toxic one have a conflict with you, don’t back down. Try to maintain your opinions, angle of view and position. Of course without offending someone.

How I mention before, I am not a guru in psychology, but I can share with you this book that I have enjoyed a lot. Hope you will have a nice reading and will find the answers to all your questions.
