How they would cope with their S/O death

Kageyama, Kuroo

Kageyama Tobio :

Volleyball of course, from the outside it would look like he didn’t care well that’s what the newspapers are saying. But in truth volleyball and you were his motivation in life. If he lost one he would hold on to the other as hard as he could. Those that are close to him could see he was struggling whenever he didn’t have a ball in his hand.

The only way to feel like you were still with him was practicing or playing. This went on until he ended up in the hospital for overworking himself, Shoyo finally stepped up getting his friend a therapist. It took him a while to open up, eventually, he learned to let you go, and instead of using volleyball as a crutch to hold on to the last bit of you, he would use the sport as something to remember you by.

It was almost like you were in the crowd still cheering him on being the loudest one there. Thinking of that made him smile since the first time you passed.

Kuroo Tetsuro :

He doesn’t deal with it for the first few days, the poor man keeps coming out of your shared bedroom after waking up in hopes that you’re in the living room watching tv like always. To Kuroo this was a fucked up dream where you weren’t present. His coping mechanism was living on as if you were still alive, when he comes home from work he talks about his day and complains about his annoying coworkers. In his mind, you were laying at his dismay before trying to cheer him up.

No one would notice for a while until the Boys from the volleyball team device to have a get-together. “ Sorry Y/n didn’t come, guys, they were feeling sick, but they’ll be here next time.” Lev, Yaku, and Kenma are looking amongst themselves worried for their friend's mental well-being.

Lev finally spoke up, “ Y/n has been dead for three months.” He’s gonna have a breakdown from the reality check in front of them. Kenma def moves in temporarily so he doesn’t do anything stupid. Slowly Kuroo would learn how to live without though it is hard when you’re always on his mind.

Child!Suna x Mother!Reader

Warning: Angst, death.

A/n: was reading a manga and listening to “fourth of July” by Sufjan Stevens when I thought of this idea.

“ Could you at least try to make some time for your family? Rintarō and I miss you- yes I understand work is important but so is your fam- That asshole!! I can’t believe he just hung up on me. “ you huffed softly shoving your phone into your purse feeling defeated, not having a use for it anymore. It was a typical Wednesday currently as you and Rintarō rode in the back of a black Limo going to drop him off at daycare before going off to work. You had just gotten off the phone with the sorry excuse of a husband and father, the man being a total workaholic.

Rintarō opened his eyes widely hearing you curse for the first time in front of him. “ Mommy who were you on the phone with? Also, mommy what’s an asshole?” The innocent four-year-old said the curse word with such ease and purity, that no one could be upset with him. Scooping him up into your lap hugging him against your chest, he looked like a spitting image of his father but with bright eyes full of life. Your son was the best thing to have happened to you during this loveless marriage.

The boy's father had one goal from this marriage and it was to produce an heir for the family company who would take over once it was their time. You were a knowing pawn in this all, but at least you could keep the man you love close to you with this marriage. It was draining though not only being an emotional support for your child but also keeping your own mental health in check.

Smiling you peppered kisses his plump cheeks, he was the cutest child ever. “ My little dove, that’s a bad word that you shouldn’t say okay? You can never say curses or Santa is going to be upset with you.” If only you could have taken a picture of his face, mouth wide with shock. Other than you, Santa was the only person he looked up to. “ I was talking to your father..” you kept it short and sweet not wanting to trouble your child. Maybe it was cause he was getting older or just sharp in general he frowned at the mention of his dad.

“ I don’t like daddy, he’s scary!” He shouted shoving his head into your chest hiding as of his father was present. It shocked you that even your son felt his cold gaze. Even if you resented him you didn’t want Rin to feel upset with his father and never build a relationship. “ What do you mean you don’t like daddy? Don’t you have a good time when dad comes home and we go out to eat dinner?”

He rapidly shook his then pulled your face down so he could whisper in your ear, probably not wanting the driver to hear. “ No, I like it better when it’s just us Mommy when daddy is here you never smile or make me laugh! Daddy is always like this.” He made a face his eyes relaxing and no sign of emotion on his face, he looked like a carbon copy. 

To cover up your giggles you covered your mouth with your hands. Who knew your toddler could be so hilarious. At that moment the limo came to a stop indicating it was time for him to go. “ Well, my little dove we can have dinner together after I pick you up okay? If you’re extra good today I can sneak you a cookie before daddy tucks you in.” You kiss him on the head as the driver opens the door. Little Rintarō looked so adorable with his little backpack as he walked back to you while using his other hand to hold his teacher's hand.

“ Why do you coddle him so much y/n? He’s not a baby anymore and needs to start growing up. You’re so insolent when it comes to your motherly duties!” A now six-year-old Suna heard his father's voice boom down the hallway, rubbing his eyes he slowly got out of bed to see the commotion. Peaking his head out of the hallway he sees you and his dad sitting at the table. You looking down at your lap, it was visible you were shaking from trying not to cry loudly. A site he was used to this his household, his father never yelled in front of Rin.

“ He’s not too old for his mother to love him! I’m just trying to be a good mom, what about you? Do you even know his favorite color or what kind of cereal he prefers. “ you fought back at least trying not to be a doormat anymore, it was fine if he wouldn’t love you but he wasn’t just going to treat your son like some stranger. Not wanting his parents to fight anymore he walked into the dining room holding his blanket that was the cause of this argument.

“ Daddy, why did you make mommy cry again?” The two adults froze in their actions hearing the soft voice, he walked over to you and hugged you even though you were sitting. Climbing into your lap he glared at his father. “ You’re a bad man daddy! You always make mommy sad, when mommy is sad I get sad.” Hearing your young child stand up for you made your heartache, he really was your anchor even though you were the parent.

“ Mom why’d you come today?” Suna said raising his eyebrows as he got into the back of the limo, the now thirteen-year-old looked very handsome. Since he had gotten older it was rare for you to pick him up, but sadly you couldn’t make it to his volleyball game yesterday due to work so this was your way of making it up to him. You sometimes wondered if he got any of his genes on his outside appearance from you. “ Well, I thought you and I could get ice cream after school before we go have dinner with your dad.” You smiled smoothing out his hair, he leaned into your touch.

Your son smirked mischievous mirroring your smile, “ He’s gonna be pissed when he sees the driver took us to get ice cream before dinner. Why don’t we take a walk around the park to, make him wait a bit longer at the table.” Your husband had his hands full with you two being absolute trouble makers, he could never break the bond you two shared though it was his fault for his neglect.

Two hours later Rintarō received a call from his angry tell him that he’s been at the restaurant for over an hour. “ Sorry Sir, we’re on our way.” He held back his laughter. Rin never called his father in a loving tone anymore to him he was an empty shell of a dad. After getting off the phone you two look at each other bursting out in a laugh, soon quieting down feeling the sleepiness after eating all of that ice cream. Rin rested his head on your shoulder, your child was now taller than you and still growing.

“ Mom, can you sing that song, that you used to hum?” You thought he has fallen asleep he was silent for so long. The young male hasn’t asked you to sing in years, though you were happy to accept his request anyway. The song wasn’t a happy one but your soft voice made it a gentle lullaby.

“ Sitting at the bed with the halo at your head was it all a disguise, like Junior High. Where everything was fiction, future, and prediction. Now, where am I? My fading supply. Did you get enough love, my little dove? Why do you cry? And I'm sorry I left, but it was for the best though it never felt right. My little Versailles, Shall we look at the moon, my little loon. Why do you cry? Make the most of your life, while it is rife, while it is light.” His breathing slowed signaling to you he had fallen asleep, it would be a pain to wake him up when you guys arrived to the restaurant but for now it was peaceful.

Suddenly the limo tumbled, Suna’s eyes shot open feeling his body being thrown multiple times. As quick as it happened it had come to a stopped the limo feeling less spacious. His body ached feeling glasses shard pricking his back as now he was laughing on the window, the vehicle on its side. Looking up was you on top of him caging him in like you were shielding with your own body. “ Are you okay?” You croaked out, blood trickling down from the side of your mouth. You looked pale and almost lifeless but still kept a warm smile not wanting your precious child to panic. You caressed his cheek softly glad he only had a few scratches. You frowned a bit seeing him now crying. He must have been hurt.

“ Don’t cry my little dove, help will be here soon to get you out of this.” You cooed wiping the tears escaping his eyes. “They are going to get us both out of here right mom?” He cried out with pleading eyes seeing you turn paler as the minutes passed. How could you tell him the truth that you were going to make it? You kept eye contact with him not wanting him to look down, because if he did he would see you were being pierced by a sharp metal-like object. Just the sheer worry that your son needed help kept you going.

You nodded your head slowly with a sweet smile, “ Of course, we are going to be okay.” You started hearing the sirens in the distance, feeling relieved they weren’t going to take long seeing as you were running out of time. “ You were always a bad liar mom, always saying you’re okay when you aren’t. “ he saw right through you, why wouldn’t he after all he was your best friend and son.

Letting out a soft chuckle even though it hurt you pressed a kiss on his forehead, “ I love you my little dove, make sure the old man gets you all the ice cream you want after you get all patched up or give him hell.” It was time to go, the feeling left your legs long ago now your body was feeling more peaceful.

“ Mom please don’t go, you’re all I have! You can’t leave me in this world with the old geezer! Please mom just stay awake a little longer!” He sobbed uncontrollably as he felt your thump lifelessly on his chest, he hopes his loud cries and shouts would keep you awake just like when he was a child wanting your attention. He let out an agonizing scream hearing the ambulances park, not cause he was hurting from his injuries no because he had just lost the most important person to him in the world.

Suna Rintarō’s eyes were cold and half-lidded as he stood at your funeral, the picture of you smiling staring back at him. He looked just like his father more than ever. Losing you meant he lost one of his reasons to smile, no one could replace the love of his mother.

“ Rin it’s time to go.” His father’s voice wasn’t so stern today, making Rintarō angry. His father didn’t have the right to be sad when he was one of the reasons you had cried so much. Well, he wasn’t going to take over this stupid company one day, remember how you would cheer him on to the games you would attend made his chest ache. Volleyball was his passion, he would succeed and make you proud no matter what.

Is Your Man Still Around? w/ Kuroo, Kageyama, and Iwaizumi (a lil angsty ngl)

Kuroo

“Babe, I love when you wanna cuddle, but I reaaaaallly can’t right now, alright?” Kuroo’s eyes don’t tear themselves away from the screen, his broad shoulder moving so you would stop trying to cuddle him. “Give me an hour, okay?” 

With a pout, you fall back onto the bed, facing up at the ceiling as the press of the buttons seem to quicken on Kuroo’s controller. You groan lightly, feeling a little more needy than usual as you playfully kick Kuroo’s back. 

He doesn’t even look back at you from his spot at the end of the bed, shouting commands to whoever was on the other end of his headset. You roll your eyes before mindlessly scrolling through your applications, eyes glinting when you come across a tik tok of a girlfriend and her boyfriend’s reaction. 

You hesitate, glancing up at Kuroo before hitting the record button. Kuroo glances back once, silently questioning why you were facetiming someone as you hold your breath to keep yourself from laughing.  

“Yo what’s good shawty, is your man still around?” 

The bedroom that was once loud with the violent shooting game on the TV had come to a standstill, and you have to bite your knuckle from letting any giggles past when the buttons come to an abrupt halt, the paused screen reflecting on the stoic look on Kuroo’s face. You watch as he slowly removes the headset from his face, setting it down next to him as he seems to ponder his next movement. 

Slowly, he stands and turns towards you, his features darkened as he walks up to the side of your bed. You hide your phone under the blanket, not realizing that would probably make the situation worse as Kuroo calmly walks up to your smiling figure and snatches the blanket off your body. 

“Who is he?” It was obvious he was trying to keep the strain out of his voice, darkened eyes filled with a mixture of hurt and anger before you can’t take it anymore. 

“Babe, look.” When he refuses to look at your screen, feral eyes locked onto your playful features, your eyes turn into a deadpan stare. 

“It’s a tiktok sound.” 

“It’s a what.”

With a laugh, you play back the sound for him, watching his expression change from one of hurt to one of annoyance. He snatches the phone out of your hand, eyes narrowing before he gives you a light shove. 

“Move over.” 

Smiling widely, you make room for him next to you as your childish boyfriend flicks the TV off, pulling the blanket over the two of you as he pulls you into his chest tightly. 

“You really played with my heart so I would cuddle you.” 

You nuzzle in closer, wrapping a leg around him to pull him tighter against your body. He scoffs, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. 

“Don’t scare me like that.” 

Kageyama

You were kind of bratty when it came to Kageyama and his way of prioritizing things, you had to admit. After another argument with your setter boyfriend, you had been laying on his bed in a fit of pouts as Kageyama finished up with his assignment at his desk. The tension in the room wasn’t leaving, and you were ready to apologize for acting out the way you did. 

“Tobio.” 

You sigh at the lack of response. “I know you can hear me.” 

Kageyama, being almost as childish as you, turns up the volume on his headphones, causing you to take on a genuninely hurt expression. 

Fine. Two can play at this game. 

Knowing you wouldn’t take it too far and actually get someone beat up, you scroll through your tik tok to land on the sound you wanted, making sure to turn the volume up. 

“Yo what’s good shawty, is your man still around?”

You smirk a little when you see Kageyama freeze, his pen stopping mid-sentence. 

“Yeah, let me just grab some headphones.” You mumble as if you were trying to be quiet, turning on your side to grab them off the nightstand. When you turn again, Kageyama has your phone snatched out of your hand, not bothering to look down at the screen as he hits your shut down button twice, thinking he ended the call. He throws it on the bed, blue eyes brimmed with anger. 

“What, when I don’t want to talk to you, you run to another guy?” 

You lazily smile when he cuts you off as you open your mouth to speak. 

“How long have you known him? Are you cheating on me?” With every question, he got a little closer, blue eyes narrowing at the relaxed expression on your face. “Don’t you have anything to say?” 

You blink innocently before kissing him on the cheek, ignoring the confused expression that overtook his features before shuffling around to obtain your phone, playing the sound back for him. 

His expression melts away to one of relief, tugging you into his chest.

“Please don’t leave me. Please.” 

You bite your lip, feeling guilty for messing with him as you breathe in is scent. “I’m sorry for being kind of a brat earlier.” 

“I don’t care anymore. Just…hold me, will you? You almost gave me a heart attack.”

The guilt bubbles up in your stomach as your heart pounds in your chest, feeling his grip tighten around you ever so slightly.

“I don’t know what I would do without you.” 

Iwaizumi

“She’s just a friend, (Y/N). You don’t need to worry. I’m tired. I don’t want to talk about something so meaningless.” 

“Iwa, she was literally all over you! And not gonna lie, you looked like you were enjoying it.” 

“What the hell? It’s called being polite. Not that you would know, you were basically glaring her down the whole night.” 

“Are you actually defending her right now?” Your voice cracks as Iwa’s eyes soften before hardening again. He turns away from you with a huff, slipping his coat off as he turns into your shared bedroom. 

“Just…go take your shower first.” That sentence ended the argument and all conversation as you hurriedly rush into the bathroom, being sure to slam the door as you did so as you release a groan of frustration. You run your bath, settling down into the steaming water as you mindlessly scroll through your phone, biting your lip at the emotion in your throat. 

A soft tap on the door sounds. “(Y/N)?” 

“I’m busy.” You snip, a glint in your eye as an idea comes to mind. 

“Look, we can talk this out, just please unlock the door.” 

Silence.

Summary: In which iwaizumi and Oikawa’s kid sister have a hate relationship because of an incident that happened when they were children. That grudge has been carried to highschool along with pent-up anger and lust. Will Hajime finally see Y/n as a woman or will she continue to be just his best friend's annoying little sister.

Chapter three: First Heartbreak

After school Y/n went straight home not even bothering going to watch practice, the whole incident left her feeling weird. She had poured milk on her brothers supposed girlfriend and worse of all her crush new that she liked him.

Her bedroom door slammed open, she didn’t bother to look up from the book she was reading considering she already knew it was her angry brother. “ What the hell was that you pulled at school?” His voice boomed shaking her to the core, Oikawa had never seriously yelled at her like this not even when he was angry. But he wasn’t the only one that could get angry.

She glared up at him finally when the room filled with silence, “ What did I pull? Maybe you shouldn’t have told your stupid girlfriend anything about me! Are you such an idiot that you can only think with your dick, instead of using your brain.” Her words were venom, did he not realize the gravity of her situation.

“ Oh god forbid Iwa figured out your obvious one sided love for him. What do you have to lose anyway? You’re just jealous my crush likes me back, you’ve always been jealous of everything i do. I can’t have anything to my friends, you’re always there. At first I felt pity for dad leaving you but I understand what he meant now when he said you’re just like your mother.” Oikawa’s words felt like one hundred bullets shooting through her body, is this the way he had always felt when she tagged along? What hurt even more was his words about their father, y/n knew she wasn’t her fathers favorite especially being the child of another woman. She could deal with her daddy issues because she always had her brother by her side but what now.

In that moment Tooru’s mother walked in with a worried face still in her work outfit, she loved y/n even though she wasn’t her daughter so seeing them fight broke her heart. She stood between them, since she didn’t understand the origins of the argument. “ what’s going on here? Everyone please calm down.” The damage was already done before she could repair even start repairing.

“ You really know how to make me feel like I don’t belong huh Tooru.” The girl said rushing out of the room not even bringing her phone or a coat. Oikawa’s eyes soften realizing the words he had spurred out of a blind anger. He wrapped his arms around his mother and hid his face, the boy didn’t have the guts to chase after her.

Her hands felt like ice as she rubbed them together, she had been at the park for what seemed like hours cursing herself for not bringing a jacket at the very least in this winter weather. There had been a lot of time to reflect but nothing made sense anymore really. Maybe it was her fault but she didn’t always deserve the short end of the stick.

She felt a warm jacket place on her shoulders causing her to turn around quickly. It was Iwaizumi with his hands in his pockets wearing usual hard exterior. “ Everyone has been looking for you for hours, and here you are about to catch frostbite.” He muttered, a cloud of fog coming out of his mouth as he talked.

“ They’d probably like it if I just fell over and died. “ she snuggled into her knees hiding her face from the cold that nipped at her nose. “ I wouldn’t like that.” He huffed sittting next to her on the round about, it slightly turning. Y/n cheeks heated up hearing that he cared if she was dead or alive. For some reason everything just felt right ring here with him, the rare moments they were alone. So she took this time to do what she wanted instead of always wondering what if. “ Haji....” the boy looked up to meet with her bright eyes, as she laif her hands on both sides of his cheeks. Iwaizumi knew he should of stopped her but part of him didn’t want to stop.

Y/n leaned in and kissed the boy of her dreams, it being her first but not his not that if mattered to her. When he didn’t kiss back she pulled away, his eyes were open and dull with a slight blush. “ I’m inlove with you Hajime, I always have been!” She declared hoping he would feel the same, but if life was that easy she would have gotten her happy ending.

“ No you don’t, you’re too young to understand the actual meaning of love. Y/n you’re just confused and going through hormones.” He stated like it was a fact, shaking off her confession like it was nonsense. She felt her heart start to break but their was still hope for it right?

The girl stood up looking down at him, she had to least convince him that her feelings We’re true. “ I do! Everytime I see you my heart races and when you smile it feels like I’m on cloud nine. When you laugh at my-“ she was cut off by him before she could even finish her rebuttal. “ I’m asking out Mina tomorrow, I really like her a lot. So I can’t return your feelings.“ he smiled as he looked down at his feet, he smiled thinking of her.

The younger girl couldn’t help but laugh, ah she was really fucked now. Taking off the jacket he gave her not to long and setting it next to him. “ I’m going home first.” Y/n wasn’t going to let him see her cry like a baby like she always had.

Y/n walked inside of her house causing her father and step mother to jump up from their seats relieved thaf she had come home. “ Where gave you been? I was worried sick when I got a call at work that you ran away.” He was more scared than angry, so when she came home the scared factor melted away.

She didnt even flinch as she walked up the stairs ignore their presence, her mind was off somewhere else trying to escape. “Y/n don’t just walk away from me when I’m talking to you. This is my house and you’re disobeying me!” Why was he acting like he cared, she was a burden to him and she knew.

“ Then send me home to my mother, you don’t have to pretend to love me anymore. I’ll live peacefully and won’t bother you anymore if you do that for me.” She hadn’t noticed Tooru come through the door after receiving a text from Iwaizumi that she was safe and sound.

His lip quivered hearing her sound so defeated, he looked to his father who was also shocked. For y/n this wasn’t just about a silly crush anymore, for now on she would be her own person nig a shadow people step on. Maybe if you achieved everything will she be loved by her peers and father? “ You can’t just leave y/n!” Her brother cried out thinking if he put his foot down tomorrow everything would be calm and collected, like a rainbow after a storm.

“ Hey Tooru, at least you won’t have to share your life with my anymore.” She threw his words earlier back in his face.

A van was on the wrong side of the road but Bokuto didn’t notice in time leaving the cars to crash into eachother head on.

Kotaro groaned as he blinked his eyes staring at the bright ceiling, his head was killing him feeling like someone was drilling into his skull. He heard the pitter patter of little feet.“ Look Daddy is awake uncle Kaashi I told you I was lying.” His daughter was shaking his best friend awake.

“ Y/d/n what are you-“ Akaashi fixed his glasses before his eyes widened staring at Bokuto who had now sat up and gave him a wonky smile. “ How’s my princess doing? Akaashi it’s good to see you, even though this is a weird situation.” He picked up your daughter and set her in his lap though he was in pain.

The male was now energetic even though he just woke up, even managing to get up hold his Ivy pole in one hand and his daughter in the other. “ I’m good daddy, I really missed you though. I want to go home though uncle Kaashi doesn’t give me cookies for bed like you do.” She pouted causing him to chuckle, the accident must not have been that bad if she was the same as usual.

“ Hey where are you even going? You need to rest, you’ve been in a coma for two months.” Akaashi sighed taking your daughter from his arms, not wanting the man to harm himself. The owl like male just rolled his eyes, “ And that’s two months of not seeing y/n now what room is my little song bird in? I need to apologize to her especially if she’s as hurt as me. He smiling thinking about his S/o who would probably chew him out about now keeping his eyes on the road. If his daughter was staying with Akaashi that meant you were still here right?

Akaashi set the child down before blocking his best friends way, “ Hun please go get the nice nurse for your daddy okay? The grown ups need to talk for a bit.” The girl nodded before skipping off leaving Bokuto to raise an eyebrow. Akaashi looked more serious than ever, something didn’t feel right in his stomach. “ Kaashi why are you in my way? This is very important I can’t talk to the doctors later, just tell me where y/n’s room number is.” He whined, too weak to push him out of the way.

Not being able to take it anymore he hugged the confused owl tightly. “ Bokuto, y/n isn’t here.” He said trying to keep his own voice steady. “ If she’s not in the hospital where is she? Is she so mad at me that she didn’t come to visit today?” That made him kinda sad but maybe he deserved it.

“ S-she’s not mad at you, she’s never be mad at you even if something was your fault.” How do you tell someone the person they were looking for is no longer living? “ Right! Y/n is so kind and understanding.” He talked about you so warmly.

Just then a nurse walked in with a clipboard in her hand taking a look at the scene before her. “ Oh Mr Bokuto, glad to see you’re awake finally. Any questions about your condition?” she started to write things down. “ Not really, but where’s my S/O? I miss them and Kaashi here won’t let me leave the room.”  The nurse’s pen suddenly came to a stop once she heard his question, looking at Akaashi who looked at her with watering pleading eyes.

“ Sir Y/n Bokuto, died on impact two months ago. She was gone before the ambulance even got to the scene.” His whole world came crashing down at the moment, if Akaashi wasn’t holding him then he would have too. How could a person just disappear so fast? He got to admire you in the last moments of life hug that wasn’t enough, it wasn’t fair. He wanted nothing more than to take your place, you didn’t deserve this. How was he supposed to go on and raise a child without you.

Akaashi felt warm tears on his shoulders as Bokuto shook, sobbing loudly not caring who heard. “ My sweet Y/n I’m so sorry.” He choked out, throat on fire trying to inhale.
