フェア関西のルームメイト二名 (The Two Roommates from Fair Kansai)
Chapter 4: The Messages

Description: In which while typing a roommate ad online, the famed Miya Atsumu, (23) MSBY Jackals Setter, makes a detrimental typo that leads to an influx of women applicants. Confused, but not completely opposed (the idiot), Miya Atsumu lands on a formidable candidate. Y/n L/n. A Biotechnology major at Kansai University, looking for a change after her last disastrous roommates and some space from a particular complication. It’s odd, but it’ll work. Maybe a little too well.
Pairings: Miya Atsumu x Female Reader
Warnings: A single expletive at the very very end.
Word Count: ~1k
A/n: This is kind of a filler chapter, sorry. We're getting to the good stuff soon, I promise. (also I was thinking only of kake udon while writing this and I will be having a bowl of it after I post this)
“I’m home!” Y/n announced as she took off her shoes at the entrance. She was excited to tell her mom about the news, but she was going back and forth about if she should tell her about the elephant in the room. Her mother would have one of two reactions: a little too excited that she was moving in with a male roommate or wouldn’t allow her to move in period. Either way, the more she thought about it, keeping her roommate’s gender a secret seemed like the best course of action. Besides, her mom would never be the wiser. She just hoped he wouldn’t be there when her mom would help her move in.
“Kitchen!” Her mom’s voice rang throughout the small home.
Y/n’s mom didn’t need to announce her presence in the kitchen, she could smell it from the front door. The homemade kakejiru smelled so divine that Y/n almost forgot that it was the middle of August. A bowl of kake udon could just never be beat, no matter the weather.
Rounding the corner, Y/n joined her mom at the stove to get a better smell of the broth, “Mama, your broth smells amazing as always!”
“Ah, I just didn’t have the energy to make anything else,” She moved over to the sink to wash her hands. “How did the meeting with your possible future roommate go, hm? Any luck?” “Yeah! I just got a text a couple minutes ago saying I have the room.” Y/n leaned against the counter and picked at the nori, “It’ll be interesting to say the least, but I think it’ll be alright.”
Y/n’s mom began chopping up the green onions, “Well, it doesn’t need to be perfect and you certainly don’t have to be best friends. You just need something normal. Especially after…” She trailed off.
“Mom, it’s okay-”
She paused her chopping for a moment and turned to Y/n, “I just want the best for you and you deserve good people in your life is all I was trying to say.”
Her mom returned to chopping the green onions and Y/n decided to not comment on the tear that fell as she did. Y/n could tell she wasn’t the only one still recollecting. In the midst of all of her troubles, her mom had her fair share of her own. At the end of the day, it was just the two of them both trying to pick up the pieces together. It’s among a few reasons why Y/n had moved back with her mom for so long. But they could both feel it as she was approaching her senior year of college. Even with everything, they both needed to learn how to let go. And it was anything but easy.
Finishing up with the green onions, her mom transferred them to a serving bowl, “Well, I think that should be it. Let me boil the noodles and you can get me caught up with school and things over dinner. Okay, love?”
“Sounds good.”
~~
The alarm clock next to her bed was shining a bright red 12:34 AM in her face. Usually she was out by now, but a late night texting session with her new roommate inspired this spontaneous late night. She thought about just ignoring his text in the morning, but had grown curious as to why he not only would reach out to her only a couple hours after he last texted but also why he was so up late. Y/n wasn’t one to stereotype people, but Atsumu definitely seemed like the 'be in bed by 8, get up at 5' gym bro type. Then again, in the few hours she'd known Atsumu, she guessed he was more of a 'fly by the seat of his pants', 'do whatever, whenever' type.
From: Atsumu So this totally might seem desperate, but what are you thinking for a move in date? I just want to make sure to be there to help and whatever.
Y/n leaned her head back, she hadn’t really thought about it yet. Her mom had asked the same question at dinner, but she mostly just brushed it aside--too anxious that her mom would start asking too many questions. Regardless, it couldn’t be sooner than a couple days at least. She needed to pack and she still had school and work to worry about. Doing some quick math in her head she determined she could probably get everything packed and ready to move in by the weekend.
As she typed out the message, she hesitated. This weekend. That was so soon. It had been 8 months since she moved back and where that wasn’t a very long time, it was enough to make her heart hurt to leave. But she couldn’t put off this date for forever--she had agreed to move in with Atsumu and she was sure he was anxious to get her to pay her part of the rent. So she pushed those feelings aside for the time being and hit send on the text.
From: Y/n I think I should be able to get everything packed and ready by this weekend. Fingers crossed.
From: Atsumu Sounds good. I’ll see you then!
~~
Atsumu set his phone down on his side table and ran his hands over his face. It was well past his bedtime and he could fault nothing except for these dumb feelings. He had met this girl for maybe 20 minutes earlier today and had one texting conversation with her, he should not have been this giddy. Osamu’s rom coms were rubbing off on him.
Sitting up in his bed, he slapped both of his cheeks with his hands, “Miya Atsumu, we will not be catching feelings for our roommate. It’s weird and will one hundred percent make her uncomfortable so cut it out.”
He tried to emulate his old upperclassmen to make it stick. It most definitely didn’t work, but maybe if he just said it enough times it would get through his thick skull.
Ping!
From: Y/n See you then. Good night :)
….Fuck.

Haikyuu as Swimmers (from a former competitive swimmer)
Because I have massive writer's block, I give you Haikyuu boys as what events they would do if they were swimmers. Please accept my humble offering.
First of all, the MSBY four. I feel like they would DOMINATE in the men's 4x100 medley relay. Like remember at the 2016 olympics with Michael Phelps, Ryan Murphey, Cody Miller, and Natan Adrian? Yeah, like that level of domination.
(Context for non-swimmers or those who are unfamiliar, the 4x100 medley relay means that all four swimming strokes are swam by different individual swimmers, each swimming 100m--totaling 400m between the four swimmers. The order is backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, then freestyle)
Bokuto would, of course, start off the men's relay with backstroke--man has upper-body strength for DAYS. I feel like he also swims freestyle, but he always gets too excited during heats and it messes with the relay time, so they had him do backstroke for the relay (sorry Bokuto). He still phenomenal and is a good powerhouse, struggles slightly with pacing, but it really doesn't hurt the time much. Side note, even though he struggles with relay timing, he's actually pretty good at timing out when he needs to turn over for splits. This man hit the wall one too many times at practice and now never does.
I feel like then Sakusa would come in next with breaststroke. I really see him as someone who has a slight control issue, and as we all know, control freaks do make the best breaststrokers (completely outing myself here). Sakusa is crazy good at stroke count. He freaks people out because without fail, every single heat he swims, he always hits his splits perfectly. Which is mostly better for individual events, but definitely doesn't hurt for the relay. He is also impeccable at timing, which at the olympics where literally every hundredth second counts is a huge asset to the time.
Next up we have Atsumu as the butterfly swimmer, because of course. In terms of the relay, this is where things get REAL interesting. Naturally in the race, we've hit the halfway mark and you can start to tell who's gonna pull ahead--of course if your freestylist biffs it, then you're screwed and it's anyone's game, but more to that in a minute. Atsumu LOVES that adrenaline rush--he also loves competing with Omi to see who can get the best splits especially since they go right after each other. Atsumu's biggest asset is his dolphin kick. For those who have read the manga you know this man has thiccc thighs. His core strength also helps create a really powerful kick that propels him through the water. He's really fun to watch because he always seems to be riding the record line (and that's always fun to see).
With all of the hype that Atsumu builds, all eyes are on our final swimmer: Hinata. Now, context, Hinata is a water baby through and through. He loves swimming and wants to be in as many heats as possible. Hence why he chose freestyle. Despite his height, he's got some pretty good arm strength and a good kick to him. He's not as much of a powerhouse as Sakusa or Atsumu, but he's able to keep pace well and he has a fantastic kick off. In fact, that last split is the one to watch. They call him the "Human Torpedo" because he'll kick off from the 50m mark and he seems to already be halfway back in the blink of the eye. It's where he's really able to pull ahead for the relay. He always finishes strong and secures the gold for them along with a new record.
Anyway, this was supposed to be a headcannon and turned into this ( ・⌓・`) So let me know if you want more swimming AU with other characters and I'll write some more. (Asks are open)
*note here: heat does NOT refer to a/b/o. In swimming, a heat is like a "round" for a specific event. So for example, in the 200m freestyle, there could be 8 heats or 8 different rounds for that specific event. I just thought that really needed to be cleared up haha*

A/n: Cross posted from my AO3. I wanted it to be longer, but I'm stuck in a bit of a writing block and still wanted to get something out, so here it is.
Atsumu regarded himself as a pretty charismatic individual. From his minor fame in high school to his much more public image now, Atsumu had a knack for carrying a conversation and keeping things interesting. Even with first dates he was good at cutting through the awkward and keeping things lively. So why was his mind suddenly running a blank now? He had resorted to fiddling with his straw and cup as he wracked his brain for what to say next.
“So, you’re a guy.”
Atsumu glanced up to the woman, Y/n L/n as she had introduced herself, sitting across from him. When he first explained the situation, she seemed taken aback, but not appalled. But the tense silence was getting to Atsumu and making him antsy again. She was just sitting there, looking at him and it was pretty intimidating. He assumed this is how uncomfortable people got when he would do this with them.
It wasn’t laced with malice or anger, however, but it was more of an analytical gaze. She seemed to be trying to pick him apart piece by piece; see what his motive was. Atsumu shouldn’t have expected anything less from the Biotechnology major. He couldn't blame her either. This whole situation was strange and, if he was being honest, something out of one of the rom coms that Osamu was into a while back.
Y/n sat back in the chair with her arms crossed as she awaited his response. Atsumu still wasn’t quite sure what to say, so he stuttered out a yes. She gave him another look over then looked off in another direction, contemplating something. Still looking away from him, she spoke again, “You know, there are better ways of getting into a girl's pants.”
Atsumu felt his face slightly heat up, “Excuse me?”
“I’m just saying, you should just download a dating app if you just need to get some. Setting up some fake roommate ad is going to be more hassle than the payoff.”
“My sex life is just fine, thank you.” He huffed, “And this isn’t a fake roommate ad. I really do need a roommate, but I made a typo when I wrote it. I was going to rewrite it, but I thought I’d at least see if anyone who responded would be a good match.”
Y/n raised an eyebrow and turned her head to look back at Atsumu, “And how many of us passed your inspections? Or are you gonna pull the ‘you’re the only one for me’ shit?”
Atsumu was going to be a tomato by the end of this conversation if she kept this up. In all honesty, Y/n really was the only one Atsumu thought he could even remotely tolerate as an opposite gender roommate. The other applicants were pretty much what he had predicted them to be. One of his crazy fans figured out that it was him and posted the listing on twitter. Which, come to think of it, might be a security issue. But he’d just have the Black Jackal’s PR manager deal with it later.
Not all of the applicants were crazy fans, but the few that weren’t his fans still weren’t great options either. Osamu and him picked out three contenders, though, just to avoid putting all of his eggs into one basket. But being called out on that fact wasn’t exactly fantastic for his ego.
“You’re not the only one,” Atsumu partially lied. “I’m meeting with a couple others over the next couple of days. You just happen to be the first.”
“I’m honored.” Y/n’s tone was flat and uninterested. “Tell you what, if I wasn’t in the situation I’m in right now, I would’ve already walked out the door-”
“Gee, thanks.”
“But, I’m a little desperate,” Y/n’s face flashed with something like discomfort or hurt. “So I still want to room with you. Send me a text when you make up your mind.”
Y/n was certainly nothing like Atsumu, but then again so was Osamu and they seemed to get along just fine. Although there was the fact that they were brothers, so Osamu didn’t really have a choice in the matter. Though in the 15 minutes they had been talking, she wasn’t completely repulsed by him. And as an added bonus, she didn’t seem to be an avid volleyball watcher--which did slightly gut Atsumu, but they would work on it--so she didn’t seem to recognize him. At any rate, he just needed someone to live with, they didn’t have to be best friends. Tolerance was his bear minimum and Y/n certainly seemed to check that box.
Atsumu agreed to message her when he’d decided and with that, the two parted ways with a, admittedly awkward, handshake. Atsumu met with the other three on his and Osamu’s list, but he already had his answer even before. He’d found his roommate and he figured that it’d be relatively smooth sailing from here.
The lingering butterflies in his stomach after texting her 3 hours ago claimed otherwise.

Chapter 2: The Typo

Confused, but not completely opposed (the idiot), Miya Atsumu lands on a formidable candidate. Y/n L/n. To say Atsumu was overwhelmed would be an understatement. When one of the athletic directors approached him saying how his phone kept going off in the locker room, he was concerned something was seriously wrong. As a precaution, they assure him that if it was an emergency that he should feel free to take the day. But upon closer inspection, he quickly realized that wouldn’t be necessary. He scrolled through what seemed like pages of messages and missed calls about the ad. And not just any inquiries, but…
“ALL WOMEN!” Atsumu exclaimed loudly in the busy shop. A few annoyed heads turned to the source of the outburst.
Osamu rolled his eyes, “‘Tsumu, we talked about this. Having you come during busy hours is already enough of a nuisance, but could you keep it down? This is still a public place.”
“But ‘Samu! What am I going to do?” Atsumu whisper-shouted like it would help his outburst, but it still elicited a few head turns, “I already didn’t want to room with a stranger! And now all of the applicants are girls? This has to be some sort of joke.”
Osamu helped with the line and handed out a few orders to customers before focusing some energy on his dramatic brother. “Well, did you specify that you were only looking for male roommate?”
Atsumu picked at the stray rice grains on his plate as he tried to remember what he wrote. He couldn’t remember specifying anything about the roommate themselves; focusing mainly on the apartment itself. He voiced his thoughts to his brother.
“Hmm, well Atsumu can be a girl's name. Maybe that’s why?”
He tried not to be offended at his brother’s comment, mainly because he was partially right. It’s possible that they’re assuming he’s a girl. But that doesn’t make entire sense either. Is it possible his fan club found the posting? That seemed pretty possible. Atsumu knew fangirls could get crazy when they wanted to be.
Osamu finished some things behind the bar and went over to sit by Atsumu. The two contemplated his conundrum over a fresh plate of onigiri. After Osamu’s second, he spoke up, “Just for science, can I see your ad?”
Atsumu gave him an incredulous look, but pulled up the ad anyway, “I mean, sure, but I don’t think-”
At Atsumu’s sudden silence, Osamu’s curiosity was piqued, “”Tsumu? Everything okay?”
Wordlessly he handed the phone over and Osamu read through the ad. Immediately after reading, he burst into laughter.
“‘Samu! This isn’t funny!”
But Osamu was laughing so hard he couldn’t even speak. Some of his employees turned out of concern and curiosity at their boss’ sudden burst. Eventually, he calmed down enough to choke out a “you are in some trouble, ‘Tsumu”.

“Alright, that wraps it up for today. Finish the calculations on your own time and be sure to bring back your completed form by next class. See you Tuesday!”
The sound of chairs scraping against the floor harmonized with the zipping and unzipping of backpacks as the classroom got up to leave. Y/n pulled out her phone to finally check her messages.
From: Mom
Found a listing in Osaka that looks interesting. Good apartment with really good pricing. You should give them a call.
(link)
Y/n typed a quick thank you before clicking on the link. Her mom was right. It looked like a decent location and a not too bad price. Trying to look for any information on the roommate (roommates?), all she could see was a number and a name at the bottom of the ad. What a strange listing. It was probably the shortest listing she’d ever come across--and definitely the most to the point.
Y/n sat and stared at the listing for a little bit while weighing her options. She just got out of an interesting situation in Suita, but she was now living with her parents. Which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, but both her and her parents weren’t exactly jumping at the idea of her moving back in, especially with her graduating college next year.
Making up her mind, she copied the number and sent a quick text to the number on the ad. A silent prayer was sent to whoever was listening. This wouldn’t fix all of her problems, but this would solve a big one and she swore she would be able to handle the rest.
--
“And you told me I was loud,” Now Atsumu was getting antsy about the amount of people staring at his hysteric brother. “”Samu, you need to calm down.”
This had been going on for at least ten minutes now. Osamu would read through the ad, get sent into a fit of laughter, finally calm down, but then would read it again and the cycle would start all over again. Not used to being the responsible twin, in addition to being extremely embarrassed by his brother’s reaction to his typo, Atsumu was at a loss for what to do. He tried sending reassuring smiles to patrons and mumbled some apologies, but that was the extent of his capabilities.
Finally, Osamu calmed down and pushed Atsumu’s phone back to him. Taking a deep breath to compose himself, Osamu tried to console his brother, “Hey, maybe this won’t be such a bad thing. Surely, there’s at least one of those girls that you could at least be civil with.”
Atsumu scrolled through his messages again, exacerbated, “Even if that’s true! There’s too many! I don’t really have the time to sit and go through all of these.”
There were at least 100 people who had responded to his ad and where the messages definitely weren’t flooding in as much as they had earlier that day, he would get a notification about once every 15-20 minutes. By the time he got through the original applicants, there would be another 100-200 to take their place. In between practice and conditioning, there was no way Atsumu was going to be able to get through these all by himself.
“Tell you what,” Osamu leaned back in the chair he was sitting in, “Since this was partially my idea, I’ll help you tonight after I close up. And if we can’t find anyone, I’ll help you write up a better listing and we can delete this one.”
Atsumu’s other issue with all of these applicants is that he really didn’t want to spend energy looking through dozens of descriptions and deciding if he would like them or not. He assumed it would be like the dating app he had for a couple weeks, but worse. Atsumu really didn’t like the idea of judging someone based on a single paragraph they wrote about themselves. He preferred a more personal approach. Like with the various spikers and teammates he’d played with over the years, he was really good at reading people in person. Within a short conversation, he could pretty accurately lay out a person’s personality (what things they might like, what might make them tick, what things they were indifferent to). Over the internet it was much more difficult.
He guessed he could always ask them to meet in person, right? That was something people did. They could meet at his brother’s restaurant so then Osamu could get a feel for the other person. Atsumu figured it would also get one glaring issue out of the way: he was a guy.
It was a fool proof plan. Osamu and him would sort through the applicants tonight and he would invite them to meet him in person. This way he can see if it’s going to work or not and if they aren’t comfortable with rooming with a guy they can just leave. Genius!
Atsumu recounted his plan to his brother and Osamu was in agreement. With that, the blonde brother left to go to afternoon conditioning, planning on returning just before close to sneak in a few more onigiri from his brother before the long haul.

Miya Atsumu swore the blinking cursor on the blank page was mocking him.
“‘Tsumu, I’m telling you. Getting a roommate isn’t that bad. Besides, I know for a fact that you can’t cook, so if nothing else-”
“I so can too cook!” The piss-hair man interrupted with a mouthful of food.
Osamu threw down the rice bag he was carrying and turned his full attention to Atsumu, “Whatever, my point is that you shouldn’t live by yourself. I worry about you and I know it would give Ma a peace of mind to know that there was at least one person around you.”
“Hmph,” Atsumu shoveled the last onigiri as he thought about his options. He guessed his brother was right. The daily messages from his mom were getting a little overbearing... “What if you lived with me?”
“No way,” Osamu hauled in another bag of rice. “I had to share the same room with you for 19 years. I need my space.”
“”Samu~” Atsumu whined, “C’mon! Who else would I room with? A complete stranger? No thank you. I’m fine living on my own.”
That conversation was about five months ago. About one month ago, Atsumu realized--begrudgingly--that his brother was right. Living on your own so young was boring and lonely. Plus, it meant that his apartment was constantly a mess (with no one to tell him otherwise, why would he willingly clean up on his own). He guessed he had Omi. Every once in a while, when Atsumu was the host for the MSBY four’s weekly hang outs, Omi would come over and help the apartment recover. But it would quickly deteriorate back to its original state.
Atsumu also came to the realization that he was not, as he previously claimed, a good cook. His diet mainly consisted of pre-made meals that only required boiling water or heating something in the microwave, much to the dismay of the team’s athletic trainers. The only time he really touched fruits and vegetables would be when he visited home or stopped by Onigiri Miya.
Don't even get him started on his laundry situation.
Above all, though, Atsumu was lonely. Sure he spent all day with his team and they would hang out every once in a while, but it just wasn’t the same. At the end of the day, Atsumu still walked into a sad, empty apartment all alone. He wasn’t sure he was ready for a relationship--he honestly didn’t have the time or energy to--but Osamu was right. It’s nice to have someone around at the very least. So he decided to cave and post an online ad for a roommate.
Now, Atsumu regarded himself as a pretty intelligent individual. Afterall, he was able to survive Inarizaki while also being a student athlete. However, words were never his strong suit. It was always like his brain could never communicate to his fingers what to type. Usually talking through what he was thinking helped, but that wasn’t something he could exactly do at that moment.
Atsumu groaned and leaned back in his chair. He ran his hands through his hair and over his face in frustration. This shouldn’t be that difficult! All he needs to write is a quick snippet and then he can go to bed. Glancing at the clock, 12:34 in angry red glared back at him, reminding him that he would need to be up in 5 hours to make it to practice on time. He knew if Osamu were here he would’ve already thrown a pillow at him and told him to just get it over with already.
With another sigh, Atsumu leaned forward and began typing. Within 15 minutes he had himself an ad. It wasn’t very eloquent by any means but it was finished. Submitting the ad, he figured he probably wouldn’t hear anything for a little while. But it was done! And even if no one responds at least he can tell Osamu that he tried.
Boy, was he wrong.

Dinner Dates: Chapter 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Description: An unlikely friendship bloomed between you, Tendou, and Osamu all because of a mutual love for food. But as the years went on, you developed some complicated feelings for Osamu. Do you dare ruin the friendship you have now to pursue possibly having something more? And what happens when you're not the only one who's developed complicated feelings?
Pairings: Miya Osamu x Reader & Tendou Satori x Reader
Warnings: None for this chapter (although Atsumu does make an appearance so...)
Word Count: ~800
A/N: This was based off this picture. I've never really written (or read for that matter) anything Tendou related, but I just could not get this idea out of my head after I saw it, so I'm just going to go for it. Enjoy! (next chapter comes out next Friday)
/One new notification/
From Tendou: Just landed in Tokyo! I'll see you guys in a couple hours!
From Osamu: Welcome back, Tendou. Glad to hear that you made it safely.
You smiled as you set your phone face down. Tendou had flown in from France to visit friends and family. Him being in town also meant that the food crew could get together for dinner.
The tradition started about a year or so after graduation. Before Tendou left for France, you two decided to have lunch and drinks together to commemorate your friendship and his success. While choosing a place to each, you two had stumbled upon Onigiri Miya. The shop was still in its first week of opening, but that only piqued your interests more. When you walked in, you noticed there weren't many people there, but it was understandable as it was probably in between the lunch and dinner rush. This also meant, however, you two got to conversing with the owner himself. And honestly? The three of you hit it off really well. Between Osamu’s food, Tendou’s chocolate obsession, and your job at a local bar, you all realized that you had an interesting connection: food.
For the next two hours, the three of you traded recipes, shared horror stories, and laughed until your sides hurt. You honestly would have kept talking if it wasn’t for the impending dinner rush that was starting to pick up at the restaurant--much to your dismay. Before you and Tendou left, you all exchanged numbers and made a promise to get together for dinner if you all were in town again.
Luckily, that promise had been a reality about every six months or so. It was usually a Friday or Saturday night and was often at Osamu’s place. The dinner arrangements were always Osamu covered dinner, Tendou covered dessert, and you covered drinks. It was a good time to experiment recipes you had sent each other over the past months and discuss what worked and what didn’t. But honestly, it was just good to get together and catch up in person. It was something you seriously looked forward to.
“Whatcha smiling about?”
Your head whipped up to look at the setter looking at you with a smug grin on his face. They must’ve had a quick break for practice, unfortunately for you.
“Uh, nothing?”
“Nothing?” He set his hands on his hips and raised an eyebrow, “So ‘s that why your phone is facedown, but blowing up with notifications?”
You hated setters. They’re always so observant and could read anyone at the drop of a hat. You had only known Atsumu for a couple weeks tops after picking up a management position with the MSBY Jackals as a day job. And yet, every time he spoke with you, he read you like an open book.
It was honestly a little terrifying.
“It’s none of your business, Miya.” You got up, not really needing to go anywhere other that where Atsumu wasn't.
But Atsumu, wanting to push your buttons even more, called out, “I think it is my business since it involves my brother!” You stopped dead in your tracks and he chuckled, “Bingo.”
“Miya, we’re not-”
“Hey, listen, you don’t need to explain anything to me. But,” He leaned down so he was eye level with your own, “I do think you should tell him how you feel sooner rather than later.”
You felt your face heat up and you struggled to stutter out a response. Atsumu stopped you by holding up his hand, “Like I said, you don’t need to explain anything to me. I’m just trying to give you some advice.”
Before you had a chance to defend yourself, the coach called the team over to start practice again. Atsumu winked as he jogged back.
The nerve.
You shoved your phone into your pocket and huffed. What did Atsumu mean anyway? You liked Osamu, sure, but just as a friend. Sure he was smart and funny and always told the best stories. And sure he always dropped what he was doing to talk to you whenever you stopped in and it gave you butterflies to have his undivided attention. Or would stay up for most of the night to text or video call you--even when he had to go in early to his shop the next morning. But that’s just friend stuff...right?
A ping from your phone pulled you out of your thoughts--nevermind your heart skipping a beat when you saw it was a direct message from Osamu.
From Osamu: You’re coming tonight, right?
From You: Wouldn’t miss it for the world!
From Osamu: Can’t wait ;)
Nevermind it took at least ten minutes for your heart to stop pounding.
Nope, just friends.

I have two half finished fics in the drafts right now and I’m hoping to have them done in the next day or two--don’t worry I’m still working on the young all might one too (it’s about a third of the way done).
But! I wanted to get the vibe of the room. Do we want to be in sad boi hours or be serotonin boosted this weekend?
