The only argument the Trans community needs to fight the bigots is that in all sci-fi movies, books, and shows when characters switch bodies the male souls that enter a female body doesn't suddenly become female because they entered a biologically female body. And vise versa. So anyone who watches and supports any content that has that trope is an ally to Trans rights.
So basically trans folks just got soul swapped at birth
Wearing all black to any 4th of July events because this is not freedom. The only freedom here is for straight, white men (who use the constitution or the Bible as an excuse but don't even know what's in them).
Why is the argument of a heartbeat acceptable? Animals have heartbeats. A petri dish full of cells can have a heartbeat. We do not give more rights to those than we do to adult humans.
However what about brain activity? Brain activity signifies concious life. If we use this to base when a fetus develops rights, it would be more accurate to the fetus and more logically sound.
A fetus rapidly develops brain cells starting around 24 weeks. It doesn't have detectable brain activity until about 28 weeks or 7 months.
Therefore abortion should be legal at least up until this point.
For anyone who thinks this is extremely pro abortion, the U.S. Supreme Court (which has had many of the same people for far too many years) previously stated and ruled that "a fetus isn't human until it can survive outside of the mother."
Personally, I agree with the previous ruling regarding fetuses. But this is showing the science behind why abortion was legal until the third trimester.
"Consider how upbringing shapes our values. Many people think we should raise a family in a traditional manner... but to think that someone who decides against starting a family is necessarily avoiding adult responsibilities is a biased ethical judgment."
"If you want to be an ethical person, then you need yo make sure you aren't allowing biases to influence your judgement. Once you do this, you can be consistent in your ethical judgements and not treat some people differently than others due to prejudice."
From snhu.sophia.org (Introduction to Ethics course)
Several members of Congress need to go take an ethics course. This is from a basic introductory course on ethics. We should all want ethics to play a major role on our government, and right now we clearly don't have that. Overturning Roe V Wade and now allowing all these trigger laws that violate basic human rights is not an ethical decision. Only in Divine Command Theory can this choice even kind of be considered ethical. But even then, unless a miracle has occurred and a new prophet has been discovered and then the prophet divined this as God's will, it is an unethical decision.
The only arguments being made in favor of banning abortions are religious, specifically Christian, and claiming to reinforce the constition. Science, human rights, and most citizens of the U.S. believe in Pro Choice. First of all, no where in the constition does it mention abortion.
But know what it does mention?
The separation of church and state. That is the 1st ammendment. This country was founded in the search and need for religious freedom but now you want to make national laws based on personal religion. So any claims that you support the constitution itself are faulty at best. Using the constitution as a reason for violating human rights doesn't make logical sense. This country was founded on the principal that everyone deserves a choice in personal beliefs and how they practice those beliefs.
Furthermore, religion IS a bias. Making any decision based on your religion is biased. This is not always bad, as making your personal religious choices are exactly that - a choice. However, using your personal religion as an argument is biased. And to use it to make laws or justify anything to do with government is not only biased, but extremely unethical.
I hate when I have vivid dreams. They are pretty cool sometimes but it sucks when you wake up.
If it was a good dream then you're stuck in reality wishing to be back in the dream.
If it was bad then you wake up feeling scared and anxious, which can follow you throughout the day.
Last night I had a dream that involved someone I used to have a huge crush on and it was like a slow burn fanfic. It was amazing except that I'm in a relationship (that my heart isn't really in anymore bc my partner made an oopsie) and that was in there too. So pretty much I had the person of my dreams and we couldn't be together bc we were both with someone else. Now I want to forget it bc I know it'll never happen.
It was so vivid I could feel them touch me and just feel everything, and after waking up it's still all so clear :( this isn't the first time I've had dreams about them either and it's always so freaking vivid but I always wake up.
Am I that strange for genuinely not caring about being involved with the world?
I pay my bills and go out when I want to, but I am a bit of a home body. I don't dislike people, I just don't care to go out of my way to be involved with friends or society. My partner keeps making comments about it, like how it's not healthy and I'm different because of it.
How do you figure out your gender/sexual identity? I've been questioning for years but I can't come to an answer and I have no one irl to talk to about it
Well let me tell you. Your eyes glow in the sunlight and hold universes within them. In the moonlight you look like an ethereal being, an angel, a demon, and a human all at once. You're smile lights up your face with joy and brings those around you happiness. When you laugh I get lost in the sound, thinking how I could listen to it forever.
I wish I could see the world through your eyes because the way you see life is mesmerizing. When you concentrate you become a flower that grows and blooms with an epiphany. The way you furrow your brows, rub your hands, touch your face when you see something cute, everything you do brings me to heaven and fills me with love.
