I came here to drop some money, dropping all my money
Drop some money, all this bread so yummy, yeah
Twerking, twerking when I buy the things I like
Dollar, dollars dropping on my ass tonight
Everyone silent, listen to my money talk
Spend how I like it
Or “When your only joy isn’t your job or son but when you are akumatizing mister pigeon the 10000000th time”

I like how everyone was like 'fuck canon', and then Zag's retelling (retelling is the keyword here, its basically canon fanfiction) dropped and suddenly the salt tag is filled with 'actually Show Canon slaps' like pick one. 🤣
It just makes me wary of the critique on a Miraculous reboot in the future, lol.
I just watched it for the Hawkmoth scenes, ngl, I like that guy.

General fandom: Lol Gabriel bottomed for a clown.
Me, pushing up my glasses like an anime character: You fools. You utter fools. Gabriel being the sub means he trusts Harry. You just gave Gabriel the healthiest fanon relationship possible-
(lol just here raving on Harriel. What can I say, I like it, it's funny but also low-key sweet? I could honestly rave about Harriel all day uwu)

You know with all the talk about how ridiculous Lila's semi backstory is, I'm genuinely surprised that no one has remembered that other, non Miraculous powered superheroes are canon.
If anything, Lila's probably a meta teen (borrowing from modern hero rules like... DC *shudders*) with the ability to lie her heart out and no one can catch really catch on until it's too late. (Unless you're Marinette and Adrien, who do end up lying a lot. Maybe it's an immunity if you're a liar, too)

heyy so... I take mental health very seriously. and obviously panic attacks aren't funny no matter who the victim of them is. I didn't find it funny when he had the panic attack I was like- dude Gabriel WHAT yk? but I don't feel sorry for him for having a panic attack? idk I feel like he deserves being hurt? is that wrong? /gen
Ye I get it. A lot of people don't really sympathize with Gabriel (the one thing ML Tumblr, Twitter and Reddit can agree on lol) so like the first gut reaction is 'lmao good'. Hell, even I was like that at the premiere for like an hour until it sunk in
All I could see afterwards scrolling through the tags was nothing but contempt towards him and repeated vocalization that he was crazy and deserved it. I dunno, it just kinda made me sick to my stomach.

Your friendly reminder that just because they’re the villain it doesn’t make their panic attack ‘funny’

Adrien Agreste, Abuse, and Trust
I have been sitting quietly on the sidelines watching people drag Adrien over his actions in Syren and other episodes in Season 2.
I think we all agree by now that Adrien is being abused by his father.  Emotionally and, after Gorizilla, physically. (He wasn’t sure if Adrien was Chat Noir, but he definitely knew that was his son, and he put him through that. So, yes, physical abuse.)
Unless you have been barely skimming my posts, you know that I am a survivor of years of abuse by a parent who has many things in common with Gabriel Agreste.  (No superpowers, thank goodness, but she is a pillar in her community that will hear nothing ill spoken of her.)
The first and most enduring casualty of child abuse is trust.
Adrien cannot trust adults.  Every adult he has regular contact with (excepting Madame Bustier and perhaps other teachers?) uses him.  They want something from him.  And they regularly violate his trust.
His father only interacts with him when he is angry with him or he wants something from him for his business. Nathalie and the Gorilla are paid to take care of him, whatever other feelings they may have, and their loyalty is to his father, not him.  The photographers he deals with are using him for their careers and his father’s.  Etc. etc.
Plagg.  Let’s be honest, Plagg is a trickster deity.  Yes, we all love the little shit, and Adrien does as well, but the relationship between him and Adrien is not built on trust.  Tikki and Marinette have that sort of bond.  Plagg and Adrien do not.   Plagg is a manipulative little shit:  not malicious, not evil, but let’s face it, he’s a greedy, lazy little beggar.   (This is why Kwami-swap AUs are so much fun to play with.)  He has also been far less open about the big picture with him than Tikki has been with Marinette.
Master Fu?  He has a chance to be that adult, now.  He should have been that adult earlier. Adrien needs a mentor.  He’s been mentoring Ladybug, but leaving Chat Noir out on the end of a limb.  Let’s hope that, going forward, he becomes the stable adult presence that Adrien needs.
Adrien trusts Ladybug.  Ladybug does not know, may not even be able to understand (she is only 14, after all!) just how very important and unusual that is.  Adrien, who has not been able to trust anyone since–we may assume–his mother left, trusts Ladybug with his life.  Implicitly.  Without question.  He is making himself utterly vulnerable to her.   Jump off a building?  OK.  I trust you to catch me.
Poor kid is so starved for someone to trust that when he finds someone he feels he can trust, he goes overboard.  Without a life jacket.
Please just believe me on this: I have been there.  And no, it wasn’t healthy.  Getting past it was painful, for me and for others.
She does not know that Chat Noir and Adrien are the same.  She does not realize how difficult it is for Chat to trust, and how much he does trust her.  Not recognizing this, she is unable to either return that trust fully OR work around it.  The concepts are foreign to her:  she has been raised in a loving environment, she trusts her parents (which probably makes keeping the Miraculous secret all the harder on her), and she has no frame of reference for living without someone she can rely on.  Who won’t betray her.
What am I trying to say here?
Watch the victim-blaming, dammit!
Yes, Adrien has some growing to do.  He’s 14, he would be a bit immature in any case.  Throw in abuse that is tacitly sanctioned by society, a lack of any adult he can trust….
And you all bitch and moan because Mr. Perfection has trust issues. Because he is clinging to the one person, the ONE person in the WHOLE WORLD, he feels he can TRUST.
Seriously, if you saw a dog that snapped at anyone who came near or refused to trust humans, you would say, “Aww, poor doggy, who treated him so badly?”  But you are quite willing to kick an abused cat, here, who is doing his best despite what has been done to him.
Yes, he is lashing out and hurting people he cares about.  Yes, he is going to have to live with the consequences of that.  Still, a little compassion?
Why am I so upset about this discourse?
As I said: I am a survivor of similar treatment.  Worse, really.  I am 45 years old, now.   I still find it difficult to trust people.  Especially adults.  I spend a lot of time trying to be that adult that the kids and teens around me can trust because I know from experience that I may be the only adult they feel they can trust.  (A little help here, guys, a little help please?  It’s not hard, and it’s worth doing. Start by listening and not judging.)
So when I watch you dragging a fictional teenager for, basically, being a victim of abuse, I say, “Welp.  Can’t trust them!”
And those real-life teenagers are probably thinking the same thing.
Think on it.
