Something a bit different from my usual output. Today I published a short story based on Doctor Who to the BBC’s Mixital site. . I fancied writing something different from my typical transgressive stories, and I’ve never tried my hand at writing for the revived series Doctors. I wrote a few classic Doctor Who stories when I was a teenager, with one of my ambitions being to write an official Doctor Who novel. That novel remains partially written, but fully planned, waiting patiently for me to return to it. Today is our third anniversary, and although I don’t understand how Seb has managed to put up with me for another year, I’m really happy that he has. A lot has happened in the past three years, but no matter what life has thrown at us we have survived it. Relationships are not simple, you need to work on them and not take them for granted. I know I’m far from the easiest of people to be in a relationship with, but I am blessed to be in one with someone who is willing to work with me to try and make me a better person, and who doesn’t run away when the going gets tough. Seb, I treasure you more each day. Thank you for making me laugh, for being there when I’m unwell, and for supporting me in what I do. But most of all thank you for being you. Love you.

My three week holiday ended today. It was a much needed break, and this week I have had several deep and meaningful conversations with my mum. I told her about my addiction problems and was 100% open and honest about it, and although she had already worked out what I was doing/using a long while back, she was thankful that I had finally come clean. A massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders and she told me the one thing I needed to hear above all else: That she is proud of me.
