I wanna take a moment to pay respect to a mobile game that never had time to shine. It's called Engage souls and was made by Square Enix in 2020 and shut down only a year later. It has the novel premise where players battle each other with stand/persona esque spiritual guardians in a game of rock-paper-scissors. It had a really charming artstyle and the music I heard from the gameplay videos was so catchy. Unfortunately, the chatacter artist is unknown and the soundtrack was never released online. The game never even made it to America with its short life span. This game got done so dirty sad. I wanted to know more about its unique lore and stories. Having an entire story centered around Janken and persona battles is just too insane to ignore. This game was almost completely ignored by the public, with there only being very few videos of it online. From what little I saw of Engage souls, it seemed to have a Saturday morning anime vibe filled with vibrant characters and friendship. I feel like it would've done amazing as a niche 3ds title instead of getting lost in the sea of mobile games. Square Enix completely neglected this hidden gem but I still think about it from time to time. Hopefully one day Engage souls will receive a spiritual successor.

Jelloapocalypse truly is the biggest dumbass I'm the anime industry right now. All he had to do was work on a mediocre shojo anime and keep his mouth shut. Did he really think he could just talk all that shit without any consequence? He's been booted from doing adr work but that's not a big deal since YouTube has always been his main thing. This is why I'm always skeptical whenever companies hire internet personalities/influencers for professional products. They tend to be quite vapid and not take the job seriously.
The main thing to come out of this is how all the grifters will use this as fuel to hate on dubs and localizers even more. Anime dubs already don't get enough respect as it is and now Jello has only made the situation even worse. Some people just want to watch the world burn.

The toxic positivity from the sonic fandom is really starting to leak into the Jet set radio one. Yes, it's amazing we finally have a new game coming but fans should still be allowed to express their criticism. Many fans including myself were hoping that the new JSR would have cel-shaded graphics instead of the realistic look seen in the trailer. Jsr's comic book aesthetic was a huge part of its charm so it's disappointing that Sega discarded it for something else. It just feels like all games nowadays are trying to look the same instead of being boldly different/avant-garde. I'm tired of fans telling everyone else we should just be grateful for what we got. That mindset is why Sonic has a whole dumpster worth of mediocre games.
Bomb rush cyberfunk did a much better job at capturing JSR's art direction from its first trailer alone. I'm sure the final product will still be good but it's a shame to Sega throw away the Y2K aesthetic.

Yoji Enokido really channeled the spirit of Souji Mikage when he wrote Shibusawa's character with Asagiri. Both of them are ghosts of the past who come back to wreak havoc on the modern world and get played like a fiddle by the overarching villain of their stories. Well I finally went and about xenoblade chronicles 1 n 2 due to them being on sale. These games have been on my backlog for the longest so I really hope they live up to all the praise they get. I need a lore heavy jrpg to sink my teeth into. Plus, they have British voice acting so that's a major bonus! It's cool that there's been a slow increase of British dubbed anime games over the years.
I also bought the Ace attorney turns out collection for only $20. That's 5 games for one cheap price. Pretty damn good deal.

Yikes! It's that time of year again! Cygames has another title on their chopping block. World Flipper has been my comfort game ever since Dragalia bit the dust but now it looks like history is repeating itself. The game is shutting down in February of next year while Global's termination date is still unknown. It is highly likely Global will end before translating the entire story because of their asinine slow updates.
I'm disappointed by not surprised. WF had like zero advertising so you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who's even heard of the game. Cygames has a lot more money that people give them credit for ( seriously, stop treating them like some small Indie studio ) so they could've easily splurged their resources to put this game on the map.
It's been a fun ride and I plan on enjoying it to the end. Probably gonna make an erotic fanfic about Vyron and Barrek to contribute to the fandom before everything shuts down.
